Welcome back to Desert Island Maid Quest. Sorry for the late start. The warp incursion threat has been settled with. The xenos purged. You have done well chosen one. Too bad the melta-bomb Ava dropped on the reactor breached containment on the alien machine's core. And there are numerous bubbles of chaos energies that ruptured when the gellar field generator was taken back to the warp. Where we last left off...You pat Ava on the back, her eyes beaming at you from behind her mask, she then asks what you are doing about extraction. You frown and tell her. "HOW MANY METRES!? Is fine is fine, I have closed circuit suit, should last." Yuriko starts waving her arm about, scanning for anything useful. She gathers up some small circuit cards here and there, at one point taking a sample of the black ooze in the pit. She figures there is at least one upgrade's worth of tech in parts and schematics. You take a moment to trudge back down to the reactor room and see if anything is left. Ava covers you as the door opens. A rush of heated air and the smell of bacon wafts through. There is nothing left but bits of meat and metal scattered around a 50ft blast crater. The metal of the deckplates are warped and twisted around where the melta bomb went off. Ava curses. "Should have saved it." You see a bit off the gaunt man's staff lodged in the control panel of the Wave generator. One of the rotating units is also damaged and spinning irregularly. Yuriko taps your shoulders and points to her wrist computer. "Time to go". Almost on queue the geiger counter on Ava's belt starts screaming. You slam the reactor room door shut and take off for the escape hatch. Is the air getting warmer?...Orders Chosen One?
Rolled 4 + 2>>27406461Get back to the airlock as quickly as we safely can. Throw a bolt ahead of us as we go.
>>27406461"We're either about to experience a random warp jump, a containment breach, or a blowout and I don't want to be around here for any of them."
Maybe we should have used regular incendiary grenades instead. Next time, let's not go for massive overkill.
>>27406558Yeah, we definitely should apologize to Yuriko for that later. We might have cost her an early ticket home.
>>27406594There was an entire genestealer cult, with at least a dozen purestrains living on the reactor room floor. You barely managed against a zooanthrope and a poltergeist, but Yuriko might appreciate the sentiment. Yuriko is stuffing parts into her pack while Ava is hunting around for anything valuable. You clear your throat."We're either about to experience a random warp jump, a containment breach, or a blowout and I don't want to be around here for any of them." The two of them stiffen, Yuriko at breach and Ava at Blowout. The black ooze in the pit starts bubbling up. Ava grabs Yuriko and you by the shoulder. "Time to go." You charge through the ship, stopping at the corridor back to the cafeteria that had experienced accelerated time. Ava casts a bolt down the corridor which had a spatial anomaly. It hits the ground then bounces up and hovers, static electricity crackling about the hunk of metal, but is otherwise unmolested. There is a horrible red tinge to the air and the sounds of screaming children in the distance. Ava is not sure about going this way, but it is shorter. First post decides. Long route or short route.Choose STALKER.
>>27406663Longer but safer route.
>>27406711I just fucked us, didn't I?
>>27406711Roll 1d20 please. DC 7
Rolled 18>>27406744ORA ORA ORA ORA
>>27406711I gotta agree. That anomaly looks pretty bad.
>>27406753WRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYou aren't sure if the anomaly dissipated or got worse, but you decide against it. "The long way around Ava!" She nods and the three of you take the roundabout way to the air lock. You make sure to take your time with bolt throws to make it past the burner anomalies, now spewing superheated warp plasma instead of simple fire. The three of you make it through unharmed. Yuriko accidentally trips over the bulkhead and passes through an anomaly, but quickly reacts with a blast from her cannon to block the blast. Everyone gets to the air lock safely. You quickly don your scuba gear, leaving the wetsuit as the metal around you begins to warp and twist in the pink haze. You have trouble seeing as something is itching at the back of your mind and your fingers feel like sadness turned 37 blue with chrysanthemum yesterdays. It is really time to go. Ava slaps on an honest to god SEVA suit and with a knock of her knuckles against the glass the three of you pile out of the ship. As soon as you are no more than 10 meters away the entire bulk twists and pulls inward, imploding against some unseen force. The impact of the sudden change in pressure rips the water inwards violently and sends the party reeling. You wish you had gone the shorter route and gotten further away, but did you make it?First 1d20 please DC 13
>>27407042>[deep sigh of relief intensifies]
>>27407042>wipingsweataway.jpgThat was close.
>>27407042The shockwave felt more intense than it was. Your lungs and suits remain un-ruptured. No one is injured, but the seabed behind you is scarred to hell. The impact of the ship tore up the seabed and the warp implosion consumed everything around the ship. There is a faint tinge in the water and your head still pounds from the psychic influence of the uncontained warp, but it fades as you swim back to shore. Ava taps your shoulder, her eyes giggling as she points to a coral formation. She pantomimes a smoking motion and you laugh. Scuba photo dump time
Hey, OP, which stat is used in stealth rolls?
The sun sets as you are about halfway home. Ava is kind enough to light the way with the lamp on her suit. In the dark the reef comes alive. Corals open and many creatures crawl out from the myriad nooks and crevices. A young lobster beats its antenna at you as you pass over its home. As you crest a small coral finger you catch an angelfish off gaurd. It hangs in the light for a moment before drifting off. >>27407323depends on the circumstance and how you approach the act. If you wing it would fall under luck. If you were to use your wits or trick an enemy thats cunning etc. I tailor the rolls to how well you describe your action.
Seeing as we are traveling along the bottom here, it seems like a good time to spend for an artifact
>>27407442How much XP do we have currently? We apparently got a lot from last time and I'm figuring out ways to spend it.
>>27407442If you would like. You have an ungodly amount of XP atm. I could go back and calculate it but I'm gonna round it up to 200. If you want to buy an item or upgrade anyone's stats please let me know. You reach an open plain filled with eel grass. A small reef squid hovers at the edge. Its body flashes a rainbow of colors as you approach. The creatures tentacles curl up in a defensive pose and its body goes white. Ava's lamp arcs up to get a better look but its gone, leaving a cloud and several little rings of ink hovering in the water. Too bad, Yuriko might have been hungry. You cross over into the grass and towards home.
>>27407526I just did the math. We have 287xp
>>27407558Okay make it 300 then. My mistake.
>>27407526My suggestion:Yuriko Affection to 2 -20Yuriko Athletics to 2 -20Chosen ONe Willpower to 3 -30>>27407558Wow. You sure? We used quite a bit to fudge some rolls.
>>27407580I went back over the last 2-3 threads. Even if I missed the rerolls, we didn't do that many of them in truth
>>27407580Are we confirming this? What else could we do? Raise our skill to 4 (thus being on par with Ava in that area)?
>>27407580I also think we should spend for an Artifact here. The ship implosion is a good excuse for one, and we might need something to get to Bunny safely.
>>27407580Throw in item and raising Chosen Ones Athletics to 2-20xp and I'll be good. Save the rest incase we need to level the others back home
Artifacts/Items are 50Event is 25Skill raises are as above. Hp/Mp investments are are good idea.
>>27407715Also HP up to 30-30xp
>>27407715We already are at Athletics 2. We raised it to that after the Minotaur.
>>27407742Did we? The sheet says we are still at 1
>>27407761I want to think we did, but looking back I guess not.
>>27407742You raised Tracy's affection to 2
>>27407793Just checked. We had raised Af->>27407820...What he said
So this is the purchase list so far.1- Item roll - 50Anon HP to 30 - 30Anon ath to 2 - 20Yuriko ath to 2 - 20Yuriko aff to 2 - 20300-120 = 180 XP remaining
>>27407889Increase Evelin's mana? Possibly willpower?I do want to start using her enthrall ability.
>>27407909I'll say yes to Mana. I think Willpower is fine for the moment
>>274078891- Item roll - 50Anon HP to 30 - 30Anon ath to 2 - 20Yuriko ath to 2 - 20Yuriko aff to 2 - 20Evelin MP to 30 - 30150 XP left.Anything else?Oh and I will take the first 3 1d6s please.

Rolled 6>>27408127ah i'm late
>>27408148>that guy comes back>immediately rolls a 6
>>27408142>>27408148>>27408173Stats upgraded >362 holy shit talk about the lotteryAs you glide along the surface of the seabed and glint of metal shines in the moonlight. You pause for a moment and drift down in between the weeds. Your hands wave over the sand and the water washes away the sand. You pull out an entire suit of armored maid armor. The suit looks as if it was carved from a single piece of crystal. Geometric designs play all over the surface, similar to the runes on the barrier. Yuriko looks astonished. She holds a hand to her mask and it projects her voice into the water. "Pure vajra. Armor of Indra. Indestructible. Legend." Indra's Maid Uniform is legendary artifact. Carved from pure vajra, the suit give the wearer complete protection against any and all energy attacks, fire, laser, demonic , magic and psychic. The suit also confers a + 8 damage reduction against physical based damage. You heft the armor onto your back and continue back to the mansion. After half an hour the three of you are trudging up the the beach. The moon has risen and the mansion is bathed in a purple glow from the barrier. The time is 11PM
>>27408445Let's go over to where Tracy and Evelin had set up their aid station, see if they're still there.
>>27408445>>27408487Ava looks to the house and laughs. "You are no stalker, you're a fackin' trader. At least we eat well." Yuriko says she is going to her lab and trudges up the beach to the home. You tell Ava to follow you over to the aid station you asked the others to set up in your absence. There are some wooden stretchers made and burnt out fire but Tracy and Evelin are not there. What now?
>>27408445Well....HOT DAMNTime to get some food then? I bet all 3 of us are starving at this point
>>27408445>that armorSeriously?>>27408545Yeah. Call out to Tracy and Evelin. They must be worried sick and be in the house or out looking for us. "And no jokes about bloodsuckers, Ava. I don't think Eve would take too kindly to that."
>>27408445Head home and summarize what happened to everyone. Maybe debate as to who gets the armor.
>>27408545Call out to Tracy and Evelin. Maybe they're up at the house......the aid station is protected by the barrier, right?
>>27408558Yeah. That's 362 in the manual. Items are OP in Maid RPG.>>27408578The barrier protects the house itself physically, but it blocks Beth's influence for several hundred yards around the house. Nothing stops a minion from smashing up on it, but Beth cannot scry or communicate within the barrier. It also protects your mind when you traverse in her domain. You call out to Tracy and Evelin to come out and see what you found. The doors burst open and Tracy comes barreling out at you on all fours, tails flailing. Evelin follows right behind in her whirl of bats. Tracy leaps on top of you crying. "Oh master you're safe! Its been three days we were so worried! Are you okay! Oh thank god you're safe." Evelin titters at Tracy's display, but is more intrigued by your new friend. Your new friend is less than pleased. In fact Ava has backed off several paces, obviously disturbed by your maid's entrances. She has her shotgun out and is trembling. "Mu..Mu..MUTANTS! GET DOWN!" A dart round explodes the sand about a foot in front of Evelin. An empty shell jams the gun. Ava racks the slide back and clears it, but doesn't fire right away.Oh shit chosen one! Better solve this quick!
>>27408711"Wait! Stop! Goddammit, this isn't the Zone, Ava!"They're not mutants, and you're not to shoot them!"Get between Ava and the maids, then explain who they are and what happened to them.
>>27408711>three days>Ava goes inquisitor
>>27408711"Ava, stop! This is Tracy and Evelin! They're cursed, not mutated!"
Rolled 83, 47 = 130>>27408766>>27408852"Ava, stop! This is Tracy and Evelin! They're cursed, not mutated!" She isn't listening to you. You go to stop her but she launches another round into the air, missing Evelin's head by inches. There is a deep gonging noise as the shell bounces off the barrier. "What the fuck!" Evelin shouts as she whirls away in a swarm of bats. You call out for everyone to calm the fuck down. Ava's eyes dart down to Tracy, her hands shaking. "MUTANTS! SUKA! GET BACK THATS A SNORK! THE CONTROLLER IS RIGHT OVER THERE! SHIT!" "Wait! Stop! Goddammit, this isn't the Zone, Ava!"They're not mutants, and you're not to shoot them!"Get between Ava and the maids, then explain who they are and what happened to them.Roll to convince Ava to stop. Shes highly agitated. I'll take the first 5 1d100s. Number to beat is the lowest above.
Rolled 69>>27408932"For the love of the Golden Throne, stand down!"
>>27408949You push Tracy off yourself and get between Ava and the maids. ""For the love of the Golden Throne, stand down STALKER!" Her gun barrel is still trembling. You walk over and take it out of her hands. She is deep in attack mode and is in pure survival instinct from the shock of your cursed maids. You sigh and go for a quick slap against her helmet. The SEVA suit stings your hand but it shakes Ava loose. "What the fuck! How can you be so relaxed. Those fucking mutants just burst out the house at me. I should shoot you for slapping me, you bastard." She sounds hurt but you detect she might be a little more than flustered at that slap. "Ava," you say, gently resting a hand on her shoulder, the other waving behind you for the maids to approach slowly, " Let me introduce you to my crew. And let me tell you about the shit you waded into. You are with friends here, so no shooting okay?" Ava nods and slumps down onto the beach, reaching up to undo her helmet. Her long blonde hair cascades out and she is breathing heavily. You catch Evelin grumbling some nasty words under her breath. And that is where I have to call it for tonight. Work ran late so sorry for the short session. Stay tuned this weekend for the next episode of DIMQ! Thanks for playing!
>>27409071It's okay, I suppose. Goodnight, OP. Thanks for GMing.Let's break thing nice and slowly to Ava. We save the "the zone is ficitonal here" to her later, perhaps after we've explained Yuriko's situation and our knowledge of the genestealers.Maybe telling her about the multiverse first will lessen the blow.
>>27409071See you this weekend!
