Peter Parker Quest, Issue 19>Rules: http://pastebin.com/w5G3aG3Y>Character sheet: http://pastebin.com/q1AqTT5h>My twitter: https://twitter.com/QuestOp>Archives: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Peter%20Parker%20QuestYou stagger to your feet and give a look towards your Aunt. “Aunt May, I-I’m going to be downstairs for a while.”She nods. “I’m going to wake up Ben and tell him, so be sure to answer the door if we knock, alright?”You give her a nod and go downstairs, locking the door behind you. You give the basement a look around. You have some materials down here, but you don’t have what you need entirely. You’re able to make a checklist, though, and pocket it in your wallet. Thankfully, your father installed the machines you’d need to produce the mixtures you’ll need, though it might require some finesse work from you near the end. You also have a working respirator and checked to see that the fume hoods were still working. That takes you about and hour. There’s no sounds from upstairs, so you sit and think about what to do.The culprit has been identified as the Hobgoblin according to the news and police. However, they’ve been wrong before. On the other hand, the Hobgoblin hasn’t been dealt with enough to get a solid modus operandi on him, so you can’t really say it isn’t something he wouldn’t do, either. One way or another, you’ve got to do something about this. You glance at the secret compartment and groan. You didn't get your costume back from Felicia!>Call FeliciaYou pull out your phone and dial the number, calling Felicia’s number. After half a second, the phone’s answered. “Felicia?”Your tone must have worried her, as Felicia immediately sounds worried. “Peter? Is something wrong?”>(1/2)
>>27440014“Did you see the news?”There’s silence for a few moments as you hear keys being typed until you hear a gasp of horror. “Oh, oh god!”When next she speaks, Felecia’s tone is worried and cautious.“Peter, what are you planning to do?”>[ ]I’m going to catch the bastard.>[ ]I don’t know>[ ]I need my costume>[ ]What do you think I should do?>[ ]Write in

>[x]I’m going to catch the bastard.>[x]I need my costume“I need my costume, Felicia. I’m going to catch that bastard. I don’t know if it’s the Hobgoblin or not, but whoever did this killed people to send Spider-man a message. I’m going to make sure that sort of tragedy doesn’t happen again.”There’s silence on the side of the line for a minute. “…Alright, but let me help. I can look into things a lot more subtly than you can. Maybe I can find out what the police know. For all you know, this could be a trap to lure you out.”You rest your hand on your head. “That’s what I don’t get! Why is someone obsessing over me like this? I’ve only appeared like twice publicly!”“Well, if it was the Hobgoblin, then maybe its because whoever it was is unhinged and has begun to focus on you? Regardless, come over to my house tomorrow and I’ll give you your costume and whatever information I can get by then, alright? >>27440376Had time to think about it. Motorcycle jacket and pants along with some sporting gear might serve as samples that we could take apart. Not trying to look like a post apocalyptic warrior but I think soldiers, police officers, and secret agents have the right idea with an undercover vest. Maybe we can make a sneak under-suit that changes colors into the red and blue. We got 3 grand. Store 2 of it and use the rest to support yourself and this hobby of fighting crime. Maybe our Aunt and Uncle will see us having an independence kick. If they won't let you help them try to be less of a burden and do more chores.
>>27440623kamen fucking spider dude
>>27440623I don't hate the design, but for now lets just use the costume we have. We can upgrade later.
>>27440619JUSTICE has forgotten to bring his cell phone so he cannot call an ambulance but worry not, JUSTICE can probably punch through a wall now without feeling any pain!
>[X]Alright, fineYou think about it and she’s right. It isn’t a good idea to rush out and get yourself in trouble, not with all the trouble that’s building up. You can wait for tonight.“Yeah, alright. I’ll see you tomorrow, Felicia.”She gives you a farewell and hangs up. You pocket your phone and let out a sigh and glance in the secret compartment. The original prototype Gwen helped you with you is there. You pick up the mask and look at it before setting it back into its bag and closing it back into the secret compartment next to the hard drive and fodlers. When did things get so complicated? So dangerous? You pull out your books and do a little more studying before closing the book with a loud THUMP. You glance at the calendar before letting out a sigh. You should really take a blood sample just to be safe. Even though Gwen isn’t talking, you did agree to take a sample every two weeks for a comparison to make sure there aren’t any problems popping up. A few minutes and a syringe of blood later, you put the sample in the cold storage in the laboratory to preserve it- in a sealed vial with your initials and a date. >[ ]Go to bed>[ ]Do something else

>>27440764>[ ]Do something elseWe should probably try modifying a couple of spider tracers to work as a impromtu telegraph so we can try to get some answers out of Gwen without raising any suspicion.
>>27440778There are better ones for function. Maybe put in some leather, graphene, or tough plastic. Right now its about style. I'm also mentioning a breathable under-armor. That way way we throw on some pants with cargo pockets and some gloves and we're good.
>>27440764>[x] Go to bed...you need to think. With no school tomorrow we can get started in broad daylight. Maybe call Gwen tomorrow.
>>27440778Something like that. It's a little more stylized. Eventually it'll be armore-padded and reversible, and chock-full of gadgets. But for now, we have to make do.
>>27440800I thought he was Batman?
>>27440826Is that... even kind of possible?I have no idea how our spider sense works.

>>27440868>spider tracers are devices that ping our spider sense by emitting a frequency. They will also ping Gwen's
>>27440868We have a device that currently manages to agitate our spider sense without us being in danger. It's an electronic device. The only thing we have to worry about is putting together a switch and a transciever. You hit the switch and it tells the paired device to turn on, release it and it returns to it's dormant state. One way versions would even let us "ping" other trackers and give us a better sense of their location.
>>27440899sweet. Do it.
>>27440899>>27440914I meant more how a specific frequency can trigger our precognitive danger sense.Like how do you even figure that out?
>>27440936Marvel-universe science. And it was off-screen, so it really doesn't matter how we got it now that we have it.
>>27440914Wait. We have a device that pings our spider sense. We could train our spider sense, turn it on and off, boost it, focus it, maybe see if there's more to it. Did we gain any other spider powers like tremor sense, infrared vision, UV vision, the ability to smell pheremones or secret them. The only extra power we seem to have is strange in nature.
>>27440893I like this idea
>>27440936There is some thought (Largely unsupported) that the Spider is a totem spirit that chose Peter Parker and his spidery inventions are a result of mystical knowledge.Though Peter himself never bought this.
>>27440998Note how the hand gesture that most effectively activated his web slinger device is the same as Dr Strange's mystical gesture.Ezekiel and the Totem eater guy are proof of Totem spidey happening when that was being written. The Wasp Spirit going after him and the fallout thereof at the time also supported it.
>>27440826I mean... if we could do that, that'd be neat. But if not, let's go to sleep?
Not to be a derailing ass, but did Cosgrove's Bleach Quest burn out? I've been reading it in the archives, but the last one listed is 46pt1 from a couple weeks ago.
>>27441032Madam Webb also talked about it until she went into a coma, and the Kravens believed it and used totemic magic to ressurect Sergi by killing Kaine.
>>27440998As soon as he encountered this he should have researched the fudge out of it. He needs something to put it the level as the other avengers if he's going to fight avenger level enemies. My vote is brainstorming and sleeping. A tape recorder, a doodle pad or notepad. Resting is no substitute for Rem sleep. But its close.
>>27441059He has a twitter.Said he'd be doing Bleach Quest next time.
>>27440968Well, none of Pete's abilities really match up to what real spiders can do. It's more like he has the effect of spider biology than the actual physiology. It makes you wonder what exactly was in the spider's bloodstream that it was smart enough to know what a spider was and how to duplicate its abilities in a human.
>>27441059It'll be the next thing I update. I've been very busy and unfortunately lately. >also, writing
>>27440623The only problem with a bulletproof vest is that it hinders flexibility and mobility, which is what we need for web swinging and dodging. A vest is rather less useful for us due to our spider sense anyhow.I love the design, though I would like cover on the forearms.Did you draw that?
>>27441094>Speaking of BQ, how accurate would you say this is?>...I've been bored and have been tinkering with not photoshop...
>>27441127Nope. And I agree on the forearms. The bulletproof vest comes in several types. I'm talking about the undercover vest. The kind that can be put under a shirt with minimal problems. Not the vest you put over your clothes. The reason I want to turn off spider sense is so that we can go to some martial arts dojo and get involved with Shang Chi and the Daniel Rand.
>>27441171>turn off spider senseAre you insane? It's our most useful superpower.
>>27441171We don't have to lose our Spider Sense to develop an interest in martial arts, especially if we run into the kung fu themed vigilantes whilst roof hopping.
>>27441171We have no reason to think either of those things are things that can happen or exist.I mean right now our lack of training hasn't been a problem, and given our constant response to MJ, it doesn't look like we can shut off our spider-sense.
>>27441199I believe he's referring to how, after "Revenge of the Spider Slayer", Peter lost his spider sense and had to train in how to fight without it. The result was that once he finally got it back, he was a superb fighter because he no longer was using it as a crutch and instead as a boost. Like fighting blindfolded to develop your reflexes, that sort of thing.
>[ ]Head to bed>[ ]Think about spider tracers and other power applicationsYou put everything away and head to bed. There’s a lot to do tomorrow, so you might as well get some sleep. When you head upstairs, it seems like Aunt May has gone to bed and, as you head up the stairs, you can hear Uncle Ben’s loud snoring. Seems like they’re both asleep. You head into your room and lock the door and make sure your window is still locked. After you confirm that it is, you re-close the blinds and head to bed, turning off your light on the way.As you lay there, trying to sleep, you think about different things you could do with Spider tracers if you could amp up their powers- like a spider sense telegram- but how would that work? Hmm…You drift off to sleep, your sleep fitful and uneasy. When you awake in the morning, all you can think of is terrifying nursery rhymes written into webs. Damn Charlotte’s Web.Still, it’s about eight in the morning, plenty of time to do things, but it might be a little early to get the supplies for your insulation. >[ ]Watch the news>[ ]Head over to Felicia’s>[ ]write in

>>27441317I think standard spidey tops out with Volkswagen Beetles, the old metal ones not the new fiberglass ones, except in special circumstances. But you're right. We need to do some research on non-sport martial arts. Jeet Kun Do, Krav Maga, etc. The ones structly for self-defense. Find a dojo that teaches multiple disciplines. Maybe Boxing as well. It's very reflex-intensive but being constrained to a certain stance and style will limit our power's usefulness and increase the benefit we get from it. Even Bruce Lee studied western Boxing when be was creating the basis of Jeet Kun Do, so there must be something useful in it.
>>27441545It is the Hobgoblin, he has the scream and Cosgrove has called him the hobgoblin twice tonight alone.
>>27441560MMA?...I may have started reading Teppu...its partially sociopathic-fit-girl the manga and kinda amazing. A serious martial arts comic compared to the cheese of, say, History's strongest disciple.MMA might be good.
>>27441580I work an arena where MMA fights are held. It's mostly show. A new generation of Pro Wrestling. Yes the fighters get bloody but it's almost all superficial. We need Muy Tai style 'if you're not crippling yourself you're a failure' kind of training.
>>27441580It IS amazing, isn't it.
>>27441580No. No no no.MMA is the WRONG discipline for a superhero. Ju Jitsu is useless when fighting more than one opponent, and it assumes neither fighter has super strength. We need something like Shotokan Karate. Something that benefits from our quick reflexes and our capacity to take guys out in less than a second.>>27441603Muay Tai is alright. A good base for our moveset.
>>27441580>>27441603what the fuck I know, work out with, and train with MMA fighters. Its fucking brutal, the closest we get to bloodsports that isn't illegal, MMA is a solid modern all around thing that isn't Krav Nagata
>>27441606And its good without throwing cheesecake around. Its VIOLENCE
And how many years of training are we going to spend doing any of this?
>>27441603>>27441628>>27441614I really don't think any existing martial art is built to handle superhuman strength, agility, and precognition.
>>27441614I meant Muay Tai as an example of the seriousness of training we need. I think our three best options at this point are Muay Tai, Krav Maga, and Jeet Kun Do. They all focus on full-body exercise, hard contact, and close quarters. They also handle multiple opponents well. A roommate of mine just suggested Pentjak Silat. I have no idea what that is.
>>27441614Eight points of striking. Throw in Savate and several forms of boxing. Wing Chun and some of those others are distinctive. We wouldn't want someone looking at certain dojos.>>27441659That may be true but Bruce Lee did not make Jeet Kun Do from scratch. He learned Wing Chun, studied boxing and fencing maneuvers experimented with some competing martial arts and came up with his own. Gwen would be all over this I she was not being stalked.
>>27441659Can't hurt. Especially if we can find a way to damp our spider-sense, maybe wear some weights to slow us down. Evn just inowing how those styles fight could be a huge boon, as it's more than we know now. Cosgrove, I suggest, once school lets back in, thst we have peter go to one of the school coaches and ask to borrow any resources on kinesiology and excersice science. It's a branch of biology Peter appears to have neglected for too long.
>>27441691>wing chunpfft. It looks cool. That's really it. It's horribly impractical and we could do so much better with a more practical style.
>>27441691Yeah but we don't have Ichigo Kurosaki's freakish ability to learn at inhuman rates. You're talking like a solid decade of work.
>>27441614No it's not. Muay Tai is unsuited for for the kind of agile fighter spider man needs to be. It's not as rooted as Karate, but it's still is built on having a strong footing to leverage.
>>27441672Martial art indigenous to Indonesia. It is to Indonesia what Muay Thai is to Thailand. A "hard" martial art as opposed to a "soft" one, but still emphasizing agility and evasion. It would not be a bad place to start Peter's training with. Really, any of the silat styles of south-east Asia would be good for Spider-Man's power set. Lots of takedowns, dodges, attacking from unusual angles and positions, that sort of thing.
>>27441729We don't need to do any physical conditioning. That's about half the work right there. We just need to learn a way to move.>>27441747Is there an aerial agile fighting style that you would suggest? Maybe some form of Wushu or Kung fu.
>[ ]Watch the news>[ ]Head over to Felicia’sYou get ready for the day, making sure you have everything you need, before you head downstairs. Aunt May isn’t downstairs, but there’s a note saying she’s next door. You sit down and turn on the news after pouring yourself a bowl of cereal with milk. You get the expected safety precautions due to yesterday’s news, but there’s apparently going to be a bit of good news in the afternoon, so the news station tells people to be sure to stay tuned. You turn off the TV after you finish your cereal. That’s something to pay attention to- maybe Reed Richards will be back soon with some new discovery? You shrug before calling Felicia’s number. There’s a few moments delay before she picks up, her voice tired. “H’lo?”“Hey, Felicia, you alright? I was calling to see if it was fine for me to come over.”“Yeah, sure. Bye.”She hangs up and you shrug. Guess it’s okay, so you grab an empty backpack and head out. It takes you about twenty minutes to get there and you think about things on the way, such as what to do if you have to face Hobgoblin- the first thing would be to avoid those blades, there isn’t much you can do about them other than get them away from him. Other things involved things you could work on, such as decrypting the hard drive and working on your inventions, but those are more passive thoughts. When you arrive there, you ring the doorbell, waiting several minutes before ringing it again. The door opens a moment later to an exhausted Felicia in a darkened room. She pulls you in, closing the door behind you. She’s clutching a lidded cup of coffee in one hand.>(1/2)

>>27441765“Hey, Peter. It’s a bit early, don’t you think?”She sounds more awake then she did before, but she still seems incredible tired. She walks over to her chair, and flops, rubbing the bridge of her nose. “So, this is what I’ve learned. The method was to use a large knife or similar bladed object to eviscerate the corpses- whoever did it was skilled enough to not get caught. But…”She shakes her head, looking disgusted. “They were good enough to get caught while torturing their victims to death. This person? Made them suffer slowly, and made the others watch. The autopsy reports weren’t finished, so I couldn’t get them, but whoever did this is one sick bastard.”She grimaces, taking a swig of her coffee. “They’re currently investigating possible suspects, but they consider the Hobgoblin a large one. Someone who dresses up in a Halloween costume with knives on it sending a message to Spider-man after he’s been thwarted? Seems like a prime candidate.”She runs her other hand through her short hair. “The cops have also gotten orders to bring in Spider-man under vigilantism. >>27441879For what purpose?
You know, it's really too bad we didn't let Aunt May and Uncle Ben know about what happened and what we were doing early on (Or at least just Uncle Ben). Now that Spider-Man has been challenged in a message written in blood and gore on a wall and is being hunted by the police, we'll never have a good enough reputation to feel safe about telling them again.

>>27441899It's not Spider-Man if he doesn't have to hide his identity from Aunt May for fear of how she'll react. An Aunt May that has a completely secret-free relationship with Peter is what gets us Mephisto bargains.

>>27441860Furthermore, given that he's wearing a Halloween mask, an ORANGE cloak, and wears a fucking JETPACK with bat wings as stabalizers, and he made his jack-o-lantern themed grenades LAUGH before they explode...It doesn't really seem as if Hobgoblin sees stealth as a priority.

>>27442055"Not at all, Felicia. Not at all. Though I think after all the help you've put in that I'm the one that owes, now. So, how do we do this? I've never been a wanted man before. How does a person avoid leaving a trail when purchasing equipment and supplies?"
>>27442160I know. I say we go in loud. Full costume and drag out whoever's watching the place.
>>27442055Sure. Also now might be a great time to suggest setting up a lab here for us to work at. If she's okay with it that is
>>27442124Ah right, so she's going to be helping us get the materials for the sound proof stuff, and we should mention that if she wants to help us, or even just hang out with us, it might raise less questions with our aunt and uncle if she shows up as Felix. If she's cool with that.
>>27442175Why not have Felicia go up to the house in disguise and ask to talk to Gwen saying she's a friend from school and then give her a message saying it's from a mutual friend interested in arachnids.
>>27442193She's Felix's hot twin sister who we've really hit it off with.
>>27442175We should tell her that that's what we were planning on doing, and thought that asking Captain Stacy's opinion about what to do about the serial killer situation would provide us a proper excuse to head to his house. But after learning that we're wanted by the police, we're starting to reconsider.
>>27442195Wouldn't Gwen be mad we told someone about the spider?
>>27442159Yeah, well, who is Peter Parker without mismanaging a social situation because of Spider-Man business? It's kind of shitty of us, but one bit of flirting isn't a commitment. And besides, she's the one who stopped talking to us. Probably because she's afraid doing so will get one of us killed, but we at least put in the effort to talk to her. And now we're working to make sure she'll be safe and we can go back to being friends with her. We can worry about the love polygons after Hobgoblin is dealt with.
>>27442159Don't worry, I'm sure Gwen will be a prominent part of this quest again at some point.Like when she resents us for abandoning her for Felicia instead of trying to find out what was wrong with her, and then fucking and working for Norman Osborn
>>27442195She doesn't know that Gwen knows we're Spider-Man.Aside from that, it sounds like a good idea.Maybe she can slip Gwen a burner phone or something?Or even give her an email address of some kind?Just some way of getting in contact, is the point.
>>27442229Gwen's going to find out about Felicia eventually. Especially if we're going to make Black Cat our waifu instead.
>>27442159Because Cos deprived us of any interaction with the girl. We could have stayed with Gwen, but then everyone got caught up with Felecia because she was the other girl we could talk to, aside from antisocial MJ.
>>27442229A better question is how many fake identities Felicia would be willing to burn to the Stalker net of cameras around Gwen's house. Or whether we trust the stalker not to start taking pot shots at Gwen's random visitors after awhile.
>>27442159That's because people are retarded. They saw it as Gwen not talking to us because she was mad at us or didn't like us, not that she was kept from talking to us.>>27442240Be fair, we made some solid progress in figuring out what was going on with her. Enough to get a hitman hired to kill Peter Parker.
>>27442240We did try to find out what was wrong with her. Remember how we were trying to find out the stalker's identity? We were pretty sure she was being threatened, if we did anything wrong it was not being more circumspect about trying to resolve things with her. That's probably the reason why the stalker escalated to pumpkin bombing.
>>27442264Eh, there were ways of getting in touch with her, ways we were capable of doing. If other people were willing to make an effort and brainstorm.

A few minutes later, she’s back in a long sleeved shirt and tight pants, a bag on her shoulder. “I figured I’d grab a few disguises to go. You pop into the kitchen and find that it is still there. Glancing at your companion you give her a smile. “I was thinking about making some lunch. You want some Pizza?”Felicia smiles, shrugging. “It’s a bit fattier than I normally eat, but it should be fine Peter.”You nod and start the oven and pizza before looking around, noticing how Felici seems to be looking around. “Want me to show you around?”At her assent, you show her around the living room, the kitchen, where the bathroom is and take her up the stairs. “That’s my Aunt and Uncle’s room there and this one is mine.” You open the door and show her around. The room’s rather clean, as insisted upon by your Aunt, but there’s some science posters and such here and there. Felicia looks around and grins, sitting on the edge of your bed.“Oh, Mister Parker, what are we going to do up here?”She innocently bites at her finger looking at you curiously. When you sputter, she grins and gets up leaning in to whisper in your ear. “While the idea of possibly getting caught is thrilling, I’d rather it be in a place where a can be as loud as I want to be.” She nips at your earlobe softly before grabbing your hand and pulling you downstairs. There's questions that I would have asked him.I would have asked him how he felt about what this company did-If he was conflicted, if he ever had doubts. Or maybe he was every inch the man we all remember from the newsreels.”Stark pauses in his speech. “I saw young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero accountability.”You set down your pizza and pay full attention to the broadcast as Tony Stark takes a question from the reporters.“What happened over there?”“I had my eyes opened. I came to realize that I have more to offer this world than just making things that blow up.”Stark stands up from his sitting position, the camera tracking him as he stares determinedly at the cameras.“And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark International until such a time as I can decide what the future of the company will be. What direction it should take, one that I'm comfortable with and is consistent with the highest good for this country, as well.”Stark’s cut off by Obidihah Stane, who turns to the camera clasping his hands with a look of good cheer before putting a hand on Stark’s shoulder. What we should take away from this is that Tony's back! And he's healthier than ever. We're going to have a little internal discussion and we'll get back to you with the follow-up.”Stane leads stark away as things cut to different anchors or analysts as you blink, the spell broken. It was cool for him to occasionally drop comments about his cosmic adventures and have everyone disbelieve him...until he did something that he should not be physically capable of doing. Like that time he dumped the Chitauri bomb into the wastes of Nastrond. That was a neat scene.
>>27443398Eh, seems unnecessary.>>27443407So when Iron Man is just starting out, you think he's going to think that the flying maniac who apparently is also a serial killer is beneath his notice?I mean, Richards would, but I don't think Start would just yet.
>>27443422There isn't? Then where the hell did Thor and Loki come from ( I am aware that Valhalla is not synonymous with Asgard, but I figure if the latter exists there's a good chance of the former being around somewhere as well).

>>27443194>[ ]Have her come down to the lab with you.>[ ]Write inSpeculate with Felicia on how this incident with Stark could affect Oscorp and whether it would make it easier or harder to infiltrate it in the future.
>>27443460>I mean, Richards would, but I don't think Start would just yet.Especially if the weapons he's using resemble things his industrial connections tell him a certain company made. Or if Oscorp and/or the City of New York hires him and/or Iron Man as a 'consultant' to deal with the issue of the missing weapons. It would be entirely within his ego to think that only he can put a stop to the weapons of a 'lesser company'.Then again, if Stark Industries just got out of the weapons game, that leaves a massive power vaccuum waiting to be filled. Every company that dabbles in super-science and advanced weapons will be eager to step into it. Norman will be foaming at the mouth that his best prototypes can't be shown to investors or military liaisons.
>>27443493Yeah, but good luck finding a serious school of it. Old-school capoeira is a fighting style, one which can be quite effective in the right hands. Modern capoeira? You're probably just going to get the ritual and theatrics. It looks cool, but it's not good in a fight.
>>27443493It's a bit too showy, and relies heavily on there being a stable flat surface underneath you. But I could see it as a secondary art, a few years down the line.

>DC25-Result w/SP-29- SUCCESS!You spend several hours working on the chemicals combining them, mixing them, heating them and cooling them before they take shape. The material reminds you of a quilt with its thickness, the color a solid yellow. However, it seems to be stable and there’s no problems with it. All that’s left is making it into costumes. And you’ve managed to make enough for possibly two costumes. Though, admittedly, it will probably be sweltering in it.But, you guess that’s the price you have to pay sometimes. You make sure that there’s no more fumes or anything before disposing of excess materials and keeping the ventilation going to be safe. Taking off your goggles and protective gear, you smile at Felicia who does the same, well before she frown, her nose wrinkling.“No offense, Peter, you kinda stink now.”You grimace, discreetly taking a whiff. You lead her up to your room, opening the door and grabbing some spare clothes. “I’ll be back in a few, wait here, alight?”Felicia nods, looking around your room curiously. “Alright.”Nervous at the idea of a girl being alone in your room, you hurry to the shower and take a quick cold shower, making sure the smell of chemicals and sweat is off of you. >>27443994>I think Peter Parker is done for today, and that it's time to do a bit of a manual search. Time to swing.Though, FBI profilers tracking open mass killings/serial killers are probably going to look at the events up here and assign blame to the "whatever they're calling Cassidy's case so far" killer.
>>27443994movies we arent equiped yet for taking on the hobgoblin
>>27444167She would be able to see right through that horseshit. Even if she doesn't...>"Oh, really? We don't exactly know where he is though. If you have any leads, let me help you out."She's not an idiot.
>>27444159True, but rushing on the Gwen front will cause another escalation by the stalker, I don't think we have enough countermeasures built to deal with him yet. Yes, we now have a decent resistance to his laugh, but we need some way to handle the damn swords besides "don't get stabbed." yes we're good at dodging, but sometimes we fail.
>>27444163Oh right, I misread that, thought we had the material in a usable format.
>>27444167>Just leave it as a vague "We're going to look for this Hobgoblin guy"We still got Eddie and JJJ as a source of info on the serial murderer, if Capt. Stacy isn't available or his home is still under surveillance.
>>27444178Yeah, you'd think Cassidy would have been noticed by now. Someone should have pointed this out to the police by now. Well, they could have and it just hasn't been announced, I suppose. Really, I guess the question is whether it's more frightening for the public to think the killings were done by a supervillain or a serial killer.
>>27444195I figured we could excuse it as "Spider-Man asking the opinion of Captain George Stacy on what to do with the whole murder taunt thing".Like it kind of makes sense that we would do that, in a way that has nothing to do with the stalker.
>>27444204Heh, I wish. Hell, we should probably figure out some kind of passive climate control/venting solution for the costum before we implement the new material. If we over heat too much it'll end up affecting our performance and could (if the fight drags on long enough) cause us to become disoriented or black out at an inconvenient moment.
>>27444240But we should tell Felicia how we've been doing on the Gwen investigation, while leaving out that she knows we're Spider-Man.Ask her if, assuming that Gwen's under more or less constant surveillance, there's any way we can get in touch with her?
>>27444267I don't know how we can tell Felicia that Gwen knows without telling her about Gwen's powers, and it's not our place to say that.
>>27444286I said leaving out that she knows we're Spider-Man.As in not mention it.
>>27444286We can tell Felicia that we suspect Gwen knows something about her stalker.
>>27444240Eh, maybe, but if the cameras don't have audio I think the Stalker will just see someone that previously thwarted his ingenious plan to remove that Parker boy now getting closer to dearest Gwen. Even if there are better, more legitimate reasons for us being there I don't expect them too matter. Plus we could be drawing Cassidy's attention to the Stacys.
>>27444319True, I mean he apparently jumped right up to hiring the Hobgoblin, or becoming the Hobgoblin, even though that was massively disproportionate. We shouldn't count on crazy people to act rational.
>[ ]Let’s go see a movieYou ponder this. It’s probably be best to get on the costume to defeat the Hobgoblin, but at the same time, you know that working yourself too much is to subject yourself to failure.“Hmm, alright. When you walk her up to the door, she unlocks it and opens it before pausing and turning back to you. “I know I’m not the greatest at sciences and the like, but it was really nice seeing you do something that you love. There’s a passion I saw there that shouldn’t be allowed to go to waste, Peter. But, more than that-”She leans in and gives you a soft peck on the check. >>27444683Now that you're gone, we dump Felicia and go for MJ.
>>27444662It is explained in the comics, actually. Peter has psychic control over intermolecular forces in a short radius from his body. Far enough that he can do it through gloves, but shoe soles are too thick for it. In the MC2 future setting, his daughter has strengthened molecular force control to the point that she can repel from objects or restrain people by sticking them to the ground.
>>27444691>>27444669HikkikoMary lacks the drive and initiative to do anything productive, much less seek romance.

>>27444669She has been mutely following us to school if I recall.
>>27444710That makes less sense. Is peter a mutant? Genetic mixup? Magic spider totem channel? Something else? Please dont just say yes.Because this is what i dont like about comics. Too many chefs.
>>27444795He doesn't really have spider powers.More powers that a little kid or some dudes who have zero understanding of science would think spiders can do.
>>27444795Peter thinks of himself as the result of a scientific accident, and there's a lot of evidence to support that. His powers have been cloned and distilled and given to others. On the other hand, the magic spider totem idea has a lot of merit too. There are people with spider powers who got it from a totem, he and Kaine have been possessed by a totem spirit, and Madam Webb is basically an admission that he's a part of a natural web of life. It's not clear, but it doesn't matter much.
>>27444608>[ ]Take the bus>[ ]Write inHarry. And keep it together this time. Afterall, Oscorp may be a-buzz with Tony's announcement.

>[ ]Jog thereYou head out the door and nod to Mary Jane who walks out of the door. She glances at you and nods, she looks much more sullen now, as her eyes dart around worriedly. As usual, the normal spider sense alarm is going of around her, but it seems stronger than normal. As you job to school slowly, she follows behind, but you notice that she’s always careful to keep distance between you and her. If you slow sown, she slows down more. Its strange, but considering what happened last time at school, maybe it isn’t too surprising? Regardless, when you reach about halfway there, you notice Flash job up to you. He gives you a glance over. “Parker, you feeling alright now?”You nod and he relaxes some, though he still looks troubled. “Did you know that the cops are after Spider-man, Parker? The guy saves our rears and they’re trying to take him in! The only reason I found out was that some cops came by to question me the other day about having talked to him. They warned me to call them if I see him again.”Flash trails off, aggravated, before shaking his head. “Regardless, I’ve knocked some sense into my players over the week. Found out they’ve been paid money to call a number and harass the person every couple of days. They make the call and the money’s there in return next time they do it. I kicked the asses of two of them, they’re off the team. None of them knew who was behind ti though, ll they got were anonymous notes with money or so they claimed.”He looks disgusted. “I’d say that I can’t believe they did stuff like that, but I‘d be a damn hypocrite. I’d also like to apologize for the way I’ve been treating you. What I did… that wasn’t right of me, it was downright messed up. But, I’ve gotten my head screwed on right so I’m trying to make amends to the people I‘ve… tormented.”Mary Jane’s behind the two of you, keeping to herself.>[ ]Accept Flash’s apologies>[ ]Remain silent>[ ]write in

>>27444877>[ ]Accept Flash’s apologies
>>27444795The basic consensus that has been reached throughout the various comics is that Peter is a genetic hybrid, but magic played a role in his creation. His powers are entirely biological in nature, but they mimic the effects of being a spider more than the actual biology because the spider that bit him had been somehow enchanted to pass the spider traits on. So he's genetically altered, but not with spider DNA. It's something else that was planted there. Various beings have claimed responsibility for it, though Peter hasn't actually believed any of them.

Also, who’s the girl, Parker?”You nod back towards Mary Jane. “Flash, this is Mary Jane Watson, my neighbor. She just moved in and started at school before the Hobgoblin.”Flash frowns. “no kidding, that’s got to be the worst luck. Well, nice to meet you, Miss Watson.”Mary Jane’s visible eye looks at him before she draws back a little more, silently mumbling something. “She’s not the greatest with people, she’s kinda Socially Awkward.”Flash lets out a noise of understanding before clearing his throat. “Well, I need to get back to my normal schedule. I’m trying to do some regimens every morning you see. Later, Parker, Miss Watson!”He runs off as you hear Mary Jane let out a sigh of relief. Looking back at her, it seems she has a bandage wrapped around her hand. “Is your hand alright?”Mary Jane’s hand retracts into her sleeve like she was bitten as she looks anywhere but you. “..eah, fne…”Seems like she’s not wanting to talk about it, but if it was a problem Aunt May would have mentioned it, considering she was at Anna Watson’s yesterday. NEWS REPORTAUTHOR: JOHN JONAH JAMESONSPIDER-MAN- A MAN TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THINGThe police have put out the word, though it has been quieted, but the Vigilante known as Spider-man, responsible for stopping the Midtown School terrorist known as the Hobgoblin and the Thief known as the Black Cat, is under a manhunt by New York’s police. They claim that it is for vigilantism and other minor crimes, but I know the truth and so do you-The Police have had their pride bruised, and rather than improve themselves, they instead find themselves hunting the competition. This stinks of corruption and cover-ups to me. I personal have spoken to Spider-man, and from what I’ve seen and what’s been said, he’s a pure capitalistic American and New Yorker, trying to make ends meet in any way he can in this current economy. And despite that, he was still able to prevent a tragedy from terrorist actions by this Hobgoblin, who is the obvious result of poor corporate management on Oscorp’s behalf if they’re merely incompetent. Regardless, all investigations into Oscorp have closed up, and in the wake of Tony Stark’s proclamation, it stinks of government cover-ups. But ever since the massacre and message, those corrupt higher ups in the government and co perorations have found a plan- instead of accepting person responsibility for their lack of diligence, they are instead wasting manpower on hunting the Vigilante who is doing their job for them! Using the excuse that he ‘inspires criminals to be more depraved and to commit crimes to draw his attention!’Ladies and Gentlemen, Spider-man may not be a hero. He might hide his face behind a mask, but he has shown more integrity than our corrupt and incompetent police force, which let the Criminal known as The Black Cat escape and failed to even find any clues on this Hobgoblin in the wake of his massacre. >(1/2)
