Sorry this is so late, /tg/.
I've been watching Tokusatsu. Mostly the Kamen Rider Faiz movie and Garo.

The twitter is at: https://twitter.com/DigimonQuest
The archive is here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Digimon%20Quest
The stat sheets are here: http://pastebin.com/u/DigimonQuest
Wayne and Sally have been consolidated into one paste to save time and effort.

LAST TIME ON DIGIMON QUEST:
[CHARACTER: NIKLAS]

"Daniil, what the hell are you doing?" You ask, and he looks back at his fist, frowning.

"...I-" He looks back at you, confusion all over his face. "I have no idea."

He takes a step back, looking down at his hand- specifically just that, for some reason- while Kokuwamon lands nearby, a struggling Impmon clasped tightly in his four arms in an almost comical parody of a submission hold.

How did a beatle learn a submission hold?

Meanwhile, the little green thing is watching you VERY warily, club still at the ready...

>[] this guy might bolt if we don't ask him what's going on now...

Would you like to use the 16 from the previous thread, or try again this time?

You put questioning Daniil aside for now- he can wait. This little guy, however, doesn't look like he's all that keen on sticking around. Too bad, because you've got some questions that need answering. You take a step forward, and the little goblin raises its club threateningly in response.

You hold your hands up to show you're unarmed, and try your most disarming smile. It doesn't have much of an effect, but at least he's not running for the hills....

I'm somewhat entertained by Faiz, and even more irritated by Faiz.
A friend showed me the villains and I singled out Yuka, the Crane Orphenoch.
In case you don't know who that is, she's basically angewomon, but even more fetishitic. I was told she had a role in the movie as a good guy.
Her role in the movie is dying.

"Um... yes... sorry about being on edge, but most digimon we have met have been... hostile..." You shudder briefly as you remember the Fuugamon that attacked the school, and how similar this little thing looks to it. Maybe you should change tactics? "We were told there's some kind of problem destroying the Digital World? Would you happen to know anything about it? Possibly point us towards somewhere we can help... or at least to someone who knows more... maybe?"

The thing just glares at the both of you. The good news is that it's put the club down. The bad news is that it won't talk.

Your digivice!
That might work, after all.

You fumble for a moment with your coat pockets, finally pulling out the slim two-tone rectangle, and holding it up, hoping the digimon would recognize the green and gold contraption.

Wordlessly, it points at you, then Daniil, then the digimon that had accompanied you-

You jump. You don't think, or calculate, you just react.
Normally, that's something you'd expect from Daniil, but something takes ahold of you, compelling you to move.

Adrenaline's a hell of a thing.

You move just in time to see a rather primitive-looking spear with a stone tip lodge itself in the dry earth beneath you, followed closely by several others. The Goblin thing is moving too, a spear having stuck itself into his club already.

You whirl about to the left, noticing that Kokuwamon's already let Impmon up, and that Daniil's gone completely rigid as you all see the same thing-

>>
>>27477748
Aslan's evolutions are a bit nebulous, since unlike Sally, he isn't locked down in one canon form.

How he develops will affect how he evolves. Thus, all of that chart could be considered correct, but it could also be considered incorrect.

The same goes for Impmon, Kokuwamon, and [REDACTED].

There will be evolutions they are more inclined towards and more likely to end up going down, but changing how they think of themselves or how they view the world may just alter one or two of their paths. The same goes for their partners.

tl;dr: social Linking will be your friend if you want them to be the best they can be.

>>
>>27477821
oh, they all have forms that they were originally going to achieve, but having a partner can kind of skew things.

Digimon have so many potential evolutions in their data, they can't possibly be unaffected by something as drastic and monumental as a partnership with a human through a digivice.

Speaking of Sally's final evolution, I have to ask: the new english dub of Xros- "Fusion," ugh- has renamed "lilithmon" to "Laylamon." They also covered her cleavage. Because, you know, there's no way we can have cleavage in a kid's show....oh wait, Angewomon.

So, which name is preferred? Layla is a name meaning "Dark Beauty," which is still very fitting, in my opinion, but "Lilith" maintains the demon lord association.

What?

Explain Biyomon then.

But it certainly makes things a bit easier.

Though are there digimon that can be both genders? Like the more feral ones seem like they can go either way.
>>
>>27477897
Is it possible for Kokuwamon or even Liollmon to become Virus types, and have it not be a negative thing?
>>
>>27478009
I didn't want digimon with obvious genders to swap, because of things that will be coming up later on.

Biyomon is a bird, and could be either male or female.

But wizardmon to lady devimon? A bit harder to believe.

Witchmon is only Data.

For now.

And with the gender thing, does that mean that, as a Salamon/Plotmon, Sally could become an Airdramon because gender is kind of a philosophical concept?
>>
So there was an Ogremon and a Fugamon hanging out, but where was Hyogamon?

Kept expecting him to show up.
>>
>>27478111
At that point I mean.

It's a great big winged serpent.

That has a really ostentatious bio, but lackluster appearances in the shows.

Sally's identified as a female ever since she could talk.

she COULD go Airdramon, but she probably wouldn't. She has her pride to consider, and Airdramons are ugly fucks.

>>27478198
The digivice didn't show a Hyogamon in the area, and the two ogres stuck together pretty well.

If there was one, they likely weren't on friendly terms with him.

So Sally identifies as female, Aslan as male, and I can't really speak for Kokuwamon, being that it's a beetle made of tasers and extension cords.

Do you have any idea how boring Liamon is?

He only has three potential evolutions, and one of them doesn't really make any goddamn sense.

Though it should be interesting to hear about Niklas and Daniil's partners as well.

If it's incorporeal, I don't think we can pet it anymore, though...
Which is a damn shame.
Unless, I don't know, she can change that.
>>
>>27483258

I only ment it looks like smoke or energy like Sally's current kitty, and we could pet that anyway. Also going for leather is a bit too specific, if she asks that she is plotting something Something good

I-I would not mind...

Ah, well, just need to ask permission to pet it then, when Sally reaches that stage.

Read the thread Gale you left us alone again so we got to talking. This is what happens

See if our bug buddy and do another submission hold on the baddy, if that fails shock the bastard
>>
>>27486608
Well how far away is Gazimon from us, and how high up is that ridge?
>>
>>27486608
I say we have Impmon provide covering fire while our partner flies up to zap the bastards from a better angle

Also, we want Sally in leather.
>>
>>27486655
This would be nice to know, yeah.
Also how far can Impmon throw his fire balls?
>>
How about we pick up that spear Gazimon carelessly dropped, and toss it back to him?
>>
>>27486655
You estimate about thirty yards away, maybe.

The ridge is about Daniil's height, but he could jump it. You've seen him jump taller before.

>>27486639
>>27486678
No matter what form she'd have taken, Leather would have shown up eventually. Haven't you noticed just how bondage-encouraging Digimon is? Even the angels are in on the act.
what I was asking was about the "Keep notes" part.

>>27486723
You haven't yet seen how far the fire can go, since he's always hit SOMETHING with them. Not always what he wanted to hit, but oh well.

>>27486746
you COULD try that, but your physical skills aren't as up to scratch as Daniil's!
It'd have to be a pretty close throw if you wanted to so any damage...
>>
>>27486746
...How good is Daniil at throwing spears?
>>
>>27486859
Right, trying this then.

Impmon, fire support - keep blasting the stone
Kokuwamon, ranged close combat - fly up there and attack from an angle where they can't defend
Niklas, give spear to Daniil
Daniil, throw spear - every little bit will help!
>>
>>27486859
Well then pass the spear to Daniil, while Kokuwamon and us attempt to close the difference.

Hopefully Impmon can lay down suppressive fire.
>>
>>27486901
I don't think we should have us run with Kokuwamon; Daniil (and thus Niklas) knows that we can use the digivice to talk to opur partner at range.
And, frankly, Niklas isn't as good with the whole "fight monsters" as his partner would be.
>>
>>27486914
Yeah true enough.

Plus Kokuwamon is literally made of metal.

So we hang back for now?
>>
So one thing that seems like an agreeable idea would be to have Impmon just start throwing fire so that no one else rises up to attack us.

>>27486859
I think it mostly was because some anons want Sally to get into some leather?
>>
>>27486948
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Niklas and Daniil hang back, while Impmon throws out as much fire as possible, so Kokuwamon can safely fly up and electrocute the rabbits.
>>
>>27486859
>No matter what form she'd have taken, Leather would have shown up eventually. Haven't you noticed just how bondage-encouraging Digimon is? Even the angels are in on the act.

So...is Gale writing now, or...?
>>
>>27487600
Yeah, sorry. I got caught up watching the different ending themes.
Butter-Fly is still the best. Nothing like the friendship between a boy and his fuckhuge dinosaur.
Your plan is simple: This guy struck first...so you strike last.

You quickly grab and wrench one of the spears out of the ground, and throw it to Daniil as Kokuwamon charges in, already one step ahead of you- you can only guess he came to the same conclusion you did.
Impmon begins to rub his gloved hands together, red flames jumping out from between his palms as he grumbles to himself in what you THINK is Daniil's first language. Probably cursing again.

Meanwhile, you've uprooted the first three spears already, and have passed them off to Daniil, who slides into a stance you recognize as one for javelin throwing. Huh. You had no idea he actually knew how to throw them correctly. This makes things easier...you hope.

Kokuwamon's closed in on the cat...rabbit...thing now, and he leaps forwards with a claw primed and ready to strike...

>>27488534

>>
>>27488618
Well, not necessarily.

I'm not going to Cosgrove you on this, but just remember that unless you're in a literal life or death situation, a 1 isn't a sign of the apocalypse.

IF you want to use the 20, I won't stop you, but keep in mind that it's not your only option.
>>
>>27488654

I suggest we take the 1 on the luck... It makes most sense as the only lucky one out of us is Impmon, everyone else has horrible luck...
>>
>>27488654
Hm...
In which case, since I didn't specify, it should be for combat (which would turn the 8 into a 1, rather than the 18 into a 1) - our good Luck roll should help us out.
>>
>>27488654
Eh, I'd say we should roll with the 1.

We got a pretty good luck score as well.
>>
>>27488692
Does a 2d20 work?
>>
>>27488679
But the Luck is an 18 - our Combat roll is an 8.
We lose much less from putting the 1 in combat.
>>
>>27488719
I'm counting it as the first combat and first luck roll, since they were specified.
>>
Rolled 3

>>27488719

the 8 and 18 you see are what the dice rolled seprately
>>
>>27488719
I don't see why it wouldn't?
That's the best way to ensure you get a Luck roll to work (given that it takes about a minute to make posts now) - and the guy did specify that the second result was the Luck roll.
>>
>>27488740

Meta wise, yes, taking the cit on combat is better, but taking it on luck makes more narrative sense...
>>
>>27488777

Come on we lose less and being luckier seems alot more fun.

>>27488777
I just don't want to be a dick and remove my fellow anon's 18 like that.

100~ posts.
>>
>>27489048
Ah, not so bad then; we should have time to finish this fight at the very least, then.
>>
>>27489045
You're already down the slope, actually.

>1 Combat
>18 Luck

You...

You miss. All of you miss.

The thing in front of you doesn't even move- he's frozen in fear, but still, you miss.

What the fuck?

You're tempted to try and throw a javelin yourself...

Above you, Kokuwamon is gearing up for a second pass, while Impmon's already gathering more flame in his hands. Daniil's holding another of those short spears, and there's two more on the ground beside him.

You could try to throw one yourself, tell your partner to try a new strategy, ask Daniil what he thinks you should do, or maybe there's something you haven't though of yet?

The rabbit-cat thing's fumbling with another spear now, and he's a better shot than Daniil is, apparently.

>what will you do, Niklas?
>>
>>27489626
Any good place to dive for cover?
Possibly dragging Daniil along, if need be?
>>
>>27489626
Act like those were warning shots, try and intimidate the Gazimon into surrendering?

>>27489703

>>
>>27489739
Never say never, with /tg/ dice.
Still, he doesn't know we're using them, so it should still work.
>>
So, threatening seems pretty popular!
Which, well, might as well try for it.
>>
>>27490033
That seems like a sound idea!

Thinking quickly, you motion for everyone to stop subtly, and call out to the thing on the ridge.

"That was the last warning!" Daniil looks at you with a quirked brow, but doesn't say anything. Impmon and Kokuwamon catch on quickly as well, and halt their respective charges, waiting. For added effect, you follow up with "The next ones won't miss!"

Your words seem to have a pronounced effect on the creature, and after looking between you and your friends, throws its arms up, jumping down from the ridge while it does so.

"I Give!" It yells out, in a voice you really didn't expect to hear out of it. "I give up! Don't Kill me here!"

You and Daniil exchange looks, and the look on your face probably resembles the look on his- confusion.

>>
Critical Failurel ?
>>
>>27490536

What.

Okay, let's try this again.

"I'm not going to kill you- why are you so scared of it happening here, anyway?" Daniil nods, speaking up as well.

"And for that matter, if you're so scared of this place, why are you here?" His cautious and tense tone don't seem to help things that much- if anything the digimon in front of us only grows more frightened.

"Y-you don't KNOW?" He asks, and the four of us shake our heads. No, no we don't know much of anything. "The Dead Zones! You don't want to die in a Dead Zone!" The blue-gray creature shrieks, looking about frantically, as if expecting something to attack him again.

Wait-

"What was that?" Daniil interjects, and the Digimon flinches, holding up his hands- claws? again, trembling.

"The Dead Zones! They're everywhere! The things in them just suddenly died, and if anything else dies while inside the borders of one, I've heard they don't come back!"

What.

>Responses? Questions?
>>
>>27492117
"If that's so, isn't trying to kill someone within the borders of a dead zone like... really rude?

What the hell... guy?"
>>
>>27492117
[x] "You..Come back after you die anywhere else that's not here?"

[x] "We're kind of new around here, so maybe you and Mr Goblin can give us a hand in getting out of this place"
>>
>>27492203
Eh we shouldn't presume to speak for the goblin, assuming he hasn't ran off.
>>
>>27492362
Oh. I guess that's a good point.
>>
>>27492117
I guess key points are: why he attacked us, what he's doing here, what's the closest way out of the dead zone, and what's causing these dead zones.

Leaving this place is a good start, as is asking why he threw spears at us.
