>POWER GAIN: Ranged ki transfer. Enter a meditative state, and have your spirit merge with another to grant a link between you and them for them to draw ki from. Great for buffing friends. Only work within sight range.

You are a girl. You have a long, red braid, a cute giggle, and dimples when you smile.

You've had very little to smile about recently.

Your antagonist has kicked up the plot in to overdrive- which isn't bad. Other than your antagonist being a total cockbucket, and that his idea of what constituted 'the ultimate soccer player' was a skeletal T-Rex. That's not your big concern though. Right now, Konoko is handling that plot development.

Right now, you've got some kind of generic jackass in the bathroom trying to bring the world alignment down talking like he knows you. Saying he wants to keep you safe. You'd kill for some comic relief right now. You might have to, maybe. Fujiwara, a typical class rep character you created is cowering behind you- she doesn't understand what's going on, and is scared witless.

The sentient one is in front of you. Only two distinguishing characteristics- he's a man, and he wears glasses. One of the shady background figures maybe. He must have saved a lot of narrative mojo to be this far out of his role.

And he might have been somebody that was in an old story of yours. You're wracking your brains, trying to remember anything, but nothing is springing to mind. Nothing familiar about this one.

He shuffles away from you. Fujiwara, meanwhile, is looking confused.

"Archimboldi-san? What's he talking about?"

If you're not careful, the narrative might bite back at your 4th wall breaking.

>Your move.

>>

Yeah but we can knock her out as she turns to run away.

Regrettably, no. He seems very very hazy. He must not have a very good idea of a self image.

At any rate, writing for in character confusion.

I vote for 0.01 points. I doubt we'll be using this again, and we could use an explanation that doesn't need to tiptoe around the narrative.

Could we have her run and trip comically knocking herself out instead? Anything to lighten the mood.

I'm almost worried about cracking his Narrative flow, it's so strong. Undermine, not break.

Unless it wouldn't hurt us, in which case lighten the mood like a motherfucker.

"I have no idea Fujiwara- can't you get the door open?"
"I'm trying!" She shouts, shaking the handle uselessly.
"It'll only be a moment," The man sounds hurt, "You don't trust me?"
"I don't know you!" You shout, and the glance at Fujiwara with a frown. Eh, might as well-

>0.01 waifu points spent! New total, 0.53!

"Help! I don't want to dieeeeeee!" Fujiwara is getting particularly shrieky now. You try to grab her, but she runs- and slips on the wet ground, faceplanting directly on the floor. You wince, and turn her face up. Good, no broken nose just the silly spiral eyes and broken glasses. That's good. You prop her up by the door, and glare at the generic man.

"Okay, Mr. Shiny Glasses, let's talk straightforward. What do you want?"
"To make things right," He raises an eyebrow. You try to get some more definition- probably a suit. Too bland a cut to belong to be a main character.
"I'm missing out on an undead dinosaur fight right now for this. Stop dancing around things, and talk."

You see him jump a bit at that. He looks surprised. His head turns away, his posture turned sullen.

"Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. I want you free- and me free. I want our story to have its happy ending."
"So, in plain, not self absorbed english, you want to end this story then?" You frown. Tip of your tongue. You recognize this voice. A name. The glasses turn back to you, nodding.
"Yes. I've survived it before. I will survive it again. As shall you."
"Okaaay, good objective statement, little vague, but we can work on it. What are you doing right this minute?"
"Oh," The generic man looks to his right, and pushes open a bathroom stall, "Well, right now? I was going to murder one of Anon's pets I found," He reaches in the stall, and grabs someone by the sweater, dragging him out to the center of the floor- old guy, bald, face bloodied, unconscious.

"A mentor," You hear spite in Generic's words at that, "I'll kill him to lower the alignment. Make Anon vulnerable."

>Your move.
>>
>>27509986
Negative alignment sounds like the opposite of happy ending. What's the next step?

"What happened to Konoko." Urg, i wish this guy was more then Guy A. Also, is he a fucking cross-story Yandere? I wish we could remember our old stories better, would make this easier.
>>

"Negative alignment hardly sounds like a happy ending here," You step a bit closer, carefully. You glance- yep, Generic has a knife in his hand. Narratively speaking, you could win this fairly easy- assuming he didn't pull any meta bullshit. Hah, that's silly to think.

"This story? Who cares? It's an infantile fantasy. The faster this ends, the better. I want OUR story back," Generic's rolling the blade in his hand. He looks on the verge to say something else before he starts coughing. You take the opportunity to press on.
"Look, if you've got a problem with Anon, get in line. I already have a plan, and the best part is, is that I don't even have to get in to the grimdark territory for it to work," You're six steps away from him. Cringer underneath your hat is compressed. Huh. No battle cat form, but ready to go. You'll have to remember that, just in case.

"It's not just him. It's the whole story," Generic coughs again, his voice turned ragged, covering his mouth with his hand, "It's an infection we must tear out, to the foundation. No," He grabs the back of the mentor's neck, jerking him up in to a sitting position, "It must be torn up from the very roots."
"I'm already halfway to kicking the fucker out, jackass. Don't ruin this for me- aside from that, what do you think mentors are FOR? You can't win, jerk. If you strike him down, he shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine," Man you've been waiting for a chance to say that.

Generic stops, his knife hanging loosely in his hand, considering that.

"You have a point," He says it with no small wonder, "That's always been one of your better traits. You're clever," He lets go of the mentor, letting him smack face first down on to the floor. He's looking at Fujiwara, "She'd be better."
"I just got her damn it-" Change the subject, change the subject, "What happened to Konoko?"
"The doctor? He got what he deserved," Generic growls. Well, that was an admission of guilt right there.
>>
"How?"
"I carried over my business from the last story," He's walking to Fujiwara, but you step in his way. You're not going to let him change the subject, you want to know.
"It was a positive alignment, she should have had plot armor."
"He did," Generic nodded, "I had to give up a lot for it, but it was worth it. I can never forgive him for what he did to you."
"Gosh, I love you making off hand references to things you remember that I don't. I don't remember any of this jackass! Catch me up!"

Generic stops, and looks at you- you see a flicker of something, a characteristic. Watery blue eyes behind the glasses.
"I don't want to get you sick," His voice cracks when he says that, "Not again. I could show you- but for that," He waves his knife around- an old looking dagger this. Something more appropriate for ye olde renaissance faire rather than your genre, "This story needs, must fray to let you see through it."
"I'm making the story serve me," You hiss through gritted teeth, "I'm not going to tear it apart when I'm just getting comfortable."

"What do you want then?" He turns, shouting stepping closer to you. He's tall, but he's less than a side character. You don't have to be afraid of him, "Do you want the truth, or do you just want what Anon has?" He has a coughing fit, mouth to his elbow, nearly bent double, but he rises again, eyes narrowed in anger, shrieking, "If you want to just reduce this to wish fulfillment, if your idea of what to do is to just dislodge Anon, and take his throne-" He draws staggered breath, staring at you. You stare back. He blinks first. Looks away, "Then you're not the same. You're not who I thought you were."
"Which means?"
Silence. He looks back, "Then I hope that next time around, you'll remember me."

Outside, you hear a terrific crack, and then an anguished roar, drowned out by a still greater roar of the crowd. God damn it, you were missing the Skelerex being taken down.

>Your move.

>>27510597
"You know memories don't stay between stories, they're just outlines. You know I survive - you know I'll crawl my way out of anyone's thumb. We may have had something, once. What you did was selfish. You should have been someone I wanted to remember."

"Fuck off. Your snide insinuations are not helping matters- I don't remember, and your lecturing moralism isn't helping."
"I'm not lectu-"
"Enough. If you know me, if you really know me, you know I don't take kindly to getting jerked around. Be straight with me, or let me get out.
"And-" He points the knife to Fujiwara, but you bat it out of his hand. It goes sliding across the bathroom, clattering in to a dingy urinal.
"Not part of the deal. At all. MAYBE if you'd talk to me like an adult, I might listen, but right now?" You jerk your head to the noise like a flock of birds going through a jet engine, "THAT story is better than what you're offering."

Generic grimaces.

>Unknown ceases attempting to change world alignment.

Clinical, white, fluorescent light comes on, bringing detail to the world again. The mentor's face is bruised- looks like he'll heal quickly enough. Generic looks like a shame faced younger man. Lame sweeped back blond hair cut, watery blue eyes, big glasses. A brown suit two sizes too large for him on him. And a bloody nose. He brings up his handkerchief with a murmured curse, wiping it away. You can't help but grin.

"Don't tell me-"
"No, no, no, it's not related to you!" His shout is muffled by the handkerchief as he turns away, "Look- just go," He waves his hand, and you hear the ratchet of a lock sliding out of place, "You can take her too."
"Just tell me your plan, hm? Or a name?"
"Look, I don't want you getting hurt again-"
"No, you just want to threaten my friends with knives."
"She isn't real!"
"Well, not necessarily Fujiwara. But there's a girl out there pulling real hard for a happy ending," You shrug, "I feel like she deserves it. So- let's at least start with names, hm?"
"..." The man thinks, then glances skyward, "Leopold."

A light shatters behind him, sending a corner of the room dark. He flinches. A red line starts bleeding on his cheek.

"You see what I mean. Go, take your friend."

>Your move.
>>
>>27511140
Dammit, we need to find a way to get him to the diner and feed him to Deadoko.
Can we do that at all right now?

Otherwise, we should get Fujiwara and get out of here to help Konoko.

>>
>>27511201

You guys know that he's the one who offed Deadoko, and that we had a deal to bring him to her, right?
>>
>>27511321
She'd also be the perfect person to rip that information from him. She wants to torture him, and we want information from him.
I only see the two of us getting what we both want out of this. And Leopold's carcass, but he's a piece of overdramatic shit.
>>
>>27511326
Yeah but I think we should get more details on our history with him first since he supposedly fucked her over for our benefit or something.
>>
>>27511326
Yeah, but 'The doctor'? When was Konoko a doctor?

I'm just a bit conflicted. One is a psycho story-wrath, and the other is a psycho cross-genre Yandere.
>>
>>27511326
We don't need to bring him to her. That was just a deal sweetener.

Deadoko would be happy just to be in the story again. She'd be happier if she could torture the one responsible for her ordeal.

Also, apparently, she did something horrible to us in a past life. So, you know.

Also. I'm a bit confused. When we mentioned Deadoko, Leopold called her 'the doctor' and a 'he'.
>>
>>27511359
We can get those details as his essence is being ripped to shreds.
If he can't just come out and say what our relationship was, then I'd rather not start back up a relationship with someone so incompetent and who treats us as a dimwit.
>>
>>27511326
I know. But we've got shit to do right now and plenty of time to play the long con. Plus, I kinda feel bad for him.
>>
>>27511326
Deadoko pretty much threatened us into a 'deal', and we made no hard promises.

I'm also not sure Deadoko is completely innocent.

I want more info before we decide either way.
>>
>>27511376
In one of our past stories. I'm guessing Leopold has the ability to keep track of who is who even between stores and, apparently, he wants vengeance against Deadoko for screwing us over.

So far, we know that we and Leopold are the only ones with the ability to have our memories cross-over, so Deadoko may not know OR is keeping it a secret from our current incarnation.

If Deadoko just screwed us over in the story, that's one thing, but perhaps she was a part of our meta-group (like Leopold was) and betrayed us....who knows.

Basically, while Leopold is unstable, I can't find myself trusting Deadoko over him just because she's a girl right now.
>>
I just want to point this out, I fucking called this last thread

Also, Leopold is what brought our last alignment past 5, to where it wraps back around to -5.

Twen also seems to be dragging this into simulation territory, so we're probably lethally injured in reality and kept alive by Deadoko's machinery which he's now using as the ultimate escapism, but is bound by his own rules.
>>
>>27511623
Not necessarily. This could go into Deadpool territory. Specifically, the one where Deadpool goes crazy with the knowledge that he lives in a comic book world and attempts to kill everyone to release them all from their 'hell'.
>>
>>27511433
>he wants vengeance against Deadoko for screwing us over.
Or, since he's exhibiting yandere characteristics, it was actually something innocuous or trivial, and he's overreacting.

We should just dangle him over a volcano or similar to see what he truly is.
>>
>>27511623
>Also, Leopold is what brought our last alignment past 5, to where it wraps back around to -5.
What? Quote the text you got this from.

Also, there is no wrap around.
From pastebin rules, -6 or +6 are possible, just not survivable for sentients
>>
>>27511656
Speaking in terms of the narrative, that's less likely because of how anticlimactic it would be.
>>
You give test the door. It sways open. You raise an eyebrow. Leopold. That IS familiar.

>reaming at you. You're wet, cold, shivering. You'd spent your last for him, and here he was, yelling at you. For what? A simple request, that was all. He was rich. You were poor. He couldn't afford this? And there he was, screaming at you in the coat that had beggared you to buy for h

You blink. You narrow your eyes. You don't remember why, but you dislike Leopold a lot more now.

"Thanks," You pull open the door, lean over and give Fujiwara a few gentle shakes. Her eyes flutter open, with a "huh?" You get her to her feet, and push her out while she's still in a daze. You turn back to Leopold. He's still standing there. The glasses did not suit him. You don't like him.

"You were the one that took out the lights earlier, right?"
"No, not that time," He shakes his head, "I had to suck up to Sir Exodium for juice enough to do this tonight. You're responsible for tipping the balance the other way?"
"Yeah, you could say that. Don't try pulling things without making me know about them, okay?"
He's silent at that. You raise an eyebrow.
"I can't promise that," He eventually says. Dick, "I'll try, but..."
"Fine, hold off on the ellipses. If what you're saying is true, we must have been pretty close once. I don't remember, but you do. Let's try to talk again later, okay? When things are less crazy."

You hear Anon-kun screaming something about justice from behind you in the field. Leopold nods, walking for the urinals for his dagger.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here until this morning," He picks up his knife, coughs again in to his handkerchief, before slipping it up a sleeve.

"One last thing," You pull open the door peek outside. Konoko looked to be in trouble, holding on to her leg, the Skelerex standing over her. Anon-kun was wading in, fighting a great deal of skeletal deinonychus's dressed in flaming jerseys. One last jab, that's all you had time for.
>>
>>27511680

There is pastebin rules?
>>
>>27511693
Which narrative?
The one Twen is writing, or the one Miko is living in?
>>
"I don't know what happened between us, in another story? But you're in a different story now. I might have some of the memories, and you might recognize me- but I'm not the same person you remember from back then. We can talk, but no guarantees I'll be whoever you think I was. None of this, 'you're not who I remember.' That story's over. We talk, but don't draw that card again if you value your teeth."

You don't hear his response as you hurry out, vaulting the railing, and landing on the field.

Half of the skeletal T-Rex's face had been shattered, green fire shoot freely and dribbling from it, but still it had strength. A great bronze soccer ball the size of a Volkswagen was currently being juggled between its feet and head as it was winding up a shot on Konoko, injured by the side of the field.

Anon-kun on the other hand was having the time of his life. You see him vault over one deinonychus, catching the thing's neck in his arm. With a shout, he flips the thing down, head first in to the field, somewhat unnecessarily, sending bones flying in all directions. And he's shirtless again. Is he allergic to shirts? He stands up, bits of vertebrae and priceless fossils bouncing off of him as he stands slowly. The other skeletal dino soccer players exchange glances of fear. He catches sight of you, and his cool facade crumbles as he eagerly starts bounding around, waving his hands.

"Hey! Hey! Miko-chan! Stay away! It's dangerous!" Distracted as he is, he gets a kick to the face from a particularly brave skeletal velociraptor, sending him spinning to the side.

But sure enough, the douche broadcasted your position. You see some of the other skeledinos turning to look at you. Cringer on top of your head is mrring in fear.

You hear another clang as the skelerex bounces the great bronze soccer ball off of its skull, and brings its foot back for one hell of a penalty kick.

Really? Although, A waifu who was forced to yan would be pretty hilarious in this.

unreliable narrator effect
>>
Konoko! You haven't much time- and those skeleraptors sure as shit weren't going to help. You start running nearer to Konoko, trying to get to the side lines where a cheerleader could be. The fossils move fast, white and dangerous as they were, tearing up grass and turf in troughs working to get you before you could cross the field. You push harder, hoping to out run them. If only you had someone to boost you, you could jump over them. Two of the skeleraptors break from the pack, trying to outpace the rest, their jaws snapping, clacking together in anticipation.

The white painted line beckons- just a little further- you hear them snapping behind you, and feel your hat fly free. Damn it, they got the tassle! Then you hear Cringer hiss and spring from your head. Your kitten! You glance back, and see cringer clinging on to one of the skeleraptors, sending it to the ground in confusion. Ah, thing'll be fine. It has plot armor out the wazoo. The other skeleraptor though comes in high, leaping, it's claws scything. You dive across the field, ducking under, and slide the last few meters across the line- and hear a crackle and unearthly shriek. Another look back, and you see the skeleraptor shaking and screaming, illuminated by blue electricity. Guess it can't get past the edge of the field. Lucky you.

No time. Another glance to Konoko and the skelerex- man it was taking its sweet time. Benefit of a +1 world alignment you suppose. You leap to your feet, and pull your pom poms out. Not quite meditation, but who cares.

"2! 4! 6! 8!
Who do we appreciate?
No skeletons!
No dinos!
Only Konoko! Go, go, Konoko!"

Ugh. You really got to work on your cheers. Oh well. You spin, put one pom pom in the air and other at your hip, sashay your hips, and focus on Konoko.

For a moment, your consciousness wavers as you focus on the movements and cheer. Then, you feel yourself lose your grip on the now, as your body throws itself whole heartedly in its task.
>>
Not your traditional astral projection, but it'll do.

Your vision is reduced to just seeing the ki of the world- the negative chakra of the skeletons hurt to look at, the exacting, ritualistic motions of your occult movements emanating mystic waves of blue, harmonious energy, Anon-kun's...Weirdness, and then Konoko, a blazing blue bonfire of chakra offset by an injury. A karmic misalignment or some crap, you don't know enough hippy terminology. You will your spirit to rush to her, as you can see her momentarily helpless.

Your spirit glides about her's, as you trace your ghostly fingertips across her and hold her close. You mildly worry about getting ectoplasm on her, and hope the universe doesn't go by Ghostbusters rules. Konoko jumps at your touch- hm, wonder if you could start psychic talking with this? Maybe next power up.

You will your spirit in to Konoko's- and you see her bonfire redouble, turn white- and wash over the damage on her, righting her leg. The massive bronze ball flies dead on at her, threatening to smash her in to a rather unattractive smear across the grass. Konoko's bonfire around her body dies. And focuses on her right leg. In the blink of an eye, she brings it up, slamming it in to the mass of metal. Against all physics, her leg doesn't snap, nor does the dim ball crumple around her leg, but it spins, fruitlessly against her cleats, sending sparks and arcs of electricity flying. God, what is taking so long. Finally, after the required amount of grunting, sweating, and effort, her leg comes back closer to her body- then shoots back, straight for the Skelerex.

Even with your dimmed ki vision, you can see the corona of heat and power as the thing flies back at the skeletal monstrosity. You sincerely wish you could see the douchebag's face in the announcer's room.

Spiritually, you clench your fist over Konoko's shoulder. Headshot. Headshot. Headshot- HEADSHOT!

You see ki energy fly everywhere as a good three tons of ki infused metal fly through the skeletal skull of it. Man, you wish you were in your actual body to watch the fire works. You spare a glance across the field, and see Anon's aura stop, frozen part way to the dinosaur. Hah, sucker. A glance to the announcer's booth- you see that the douchtastic aura of your antagonist is flat on his back. Okay, no way you're missing this. You let go of Konoko, who obligingly collapses, and rush back to your body- which you see is still in its cheer routine. Hm. You got good hip action.

You can admire yourself later. It takes a bit, but you realize you have to sync with yourself to get back in. Oh well, at least you're body is slowing down with the cheers and dancing so you could keep up. With a final few moments, you open your eyes and see Anon staring at the collapsed pile of bones. The other dinosaurs, either due to Anon intervention or plot fiat have also disintegrated, and now the stadium is a paleontologist's nightmare. You cough- suddenly very hoarse. Guess you were cheering that whole time. Cringer comes trotting back to you, dragging your hat back to you. What a mighty hunter. You smile, and put it back on your head, and all is right with the world again. Aside from your aches.

You're remarkably sore, as you stagger back to Konoko and Anon who had rushed to her side, cradling her.

"Konoko? Konoko, hang on!"
"Oh...Anon-kun," Konoko whispers, "Did...Did I do well?"
"Y-Yes," Anon glances back to the remnants of the skelerex, "ImeanIwashopingtodiplomacyskelerextomysidebutwhatever yes Konoko...You did good."
"I'm glad..." Konoko smiles, looking up at Anon, "I'm happy you're holding me, Anon-kun."
"Konoko..." She reaches a hand out for him, brushing his cheek. Anon is looking at Konoko, as if for the first time.

>Konoko gained waifu points!
>Konoko is now BEST GIRL.
>>
...Well then. Not sure if good or bad. Anon sees you staring, and furiously blushes, "Eeeehhhh, hi! Hi Miko-chan!"
"Hey...Konoko, are you alright?" You manage to whisper. Damn sore throat.
"I'm fine," She whispers with a smile.

"VERMIN! WORMS!" You hear from the announcers, and you glance up- oh man, looks like the lower jaw of that Skelerex (You'll miss saying that) got launched in to the announcer's booth. You hide a smile, as you see the figure of your antagonist leaning out of the smashed hole that used to be a window, one hand firmly on the right side of his face, blood leaking from between his fingers, "You DARE desecrate the face of a Knight of the anti-order of CRUCIFIX? I'll have you flayed for this, you sub human wretches! And you!" He points directly at you, "You will PAY for this indignity, a thousand fold, when we have you back in our hands!"

"Threatening a lady?" Anon turns- but doesn't let go of Konoko, carrying her in his hands, "Villain! You are an enemy of JUSTICE! You're never going to lay hands on Konoko-chan, or Miko-chan as long as I draw breath! I swear it!"
"We'll see about that!" Your antagonist turns away, disappearing from view- doubtless to harass you in later scenes. Anon though, will not let it go.
"WE will, but not you! You'll...Only half see!" Anon searches for the rest of his joke, and then nods, "Because you hurt your eye! So, you can only-"
"Stop digging," Konoko whispers, and Anon nods.
"Eye think he got the point?" Anon says questioningly. Too little too late.

Anon nods, "Right. So, haunted soccer field," A smile touches his lips, "Guess I have to go in to an after school club after all."

Kind of a victory for you. Konoko meanwhile, hanging as she is in Anon's arms has the biggest god damn smile.

Hm. You glance around- no sign of Leopold. Just a lot of bones, and a torn up soccer field.

"Right, anything you need to do before we go home?" Anon asks cheerfully, "Anything you want to...Mention?"

>>27513170
>And mention that you had to deal with a bathroom ghost?
I vote to say that it was one of Antagonist's cronies. Get Anon to focus on Antagonist and possible Harem Route keeps him busy and out of our way.

>>27513197

>>

......So very true.

Anon's expecting this you suppose. You look away, rolling your eyes.

"I see. Congratulations you two. I'm sorry, I only came in late- I had to deal with another enemy that he sent..."

You glance out of the corner of your eye to Anon. He's nodding.

>Gained 0.03 waifu points! New total, 0.46!

That's IT? Ergh. Anon looks up to you.

"Er, do you think you can help Konoko? I can take her home so it's private, if you'd like."
"Sure, yeah, of course," And he's not interested in the bathroom. You frown as the colors start to fade out of the scene- about to skip to the house, you're guessing. You see Leopold coming out of the bathroom, pulling on some gloves- he gives a nod to you as your eyes meet, before the world starts to fade entirely.

The world comes back to you as you're following Anon carrying Konoko to her room- you realize belatedly that you're burdened with Konoko's bags along with your own. You glance down- back to your school uniform. How considerate. Anon walks in Konoko's room, walking to her bed on the floor, laying her down and getting her tucked in with surprising tenderness. As soon as she's set down, he looks at her with a smile, and brushes the hair out of her eyes. He glances up to you.

"You'll take care of her, right?"
"Of course! Konoko is a very dear friend of mine!"
"Okay, thanks..." Anon looks reflective, "I was watching...What, Sir Exodium? Yeah, I was watching him do his stuff...I think I might be able to learn how to do that."
"What?"
"Bring back skeletons," Anon nods excitedly, "Yeah! I'm gonna go practice that right now, gotta go!" He gets up quickly, and walks out. Well, at least that leaves you alone with Konoko.

You wait, count. One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi. Turn to Konoko.

"Okay, you going to continue to pretend to be passed out, or do we have to lip tango."

>Also, there's a beat up mentor of Anon's that we -could- weasel into being Best Girl's.
You mean have her learn under Anon-kun's master?

I think it'd be better if we try to make Konoko as distinct as possible from Anon.
>>
Bonding. Writing.
>>
>>27513595
Twen, what does Best Girl mean in terms of mechanics for Konoko/us?
>>
>>27513590
Wellll, I was more thinking stealing the Mentor away. Maybe some shoving of Konoko into his attention, some Waifu points, and bing, even more plot important of her. So it wouldn't be Anon's Mentor, but Anon learning under Konoko's.
>>
>>27513617
That might be dangerous, though. Anon is still the main protagonist, after all.
>>
>>27513634
True, but he doesn't know about the Mentor yet - or at least, i don't think so. Just something we could try.
>>
>>27513615

I'm pretty sure that it either means that she has more Waifu Points than us, or she reached a milestone of a certain # of points.
>>
Guys, idea. Next time we see Anon tell him "I didn't want to mention this before because you seemed so happy, but raising the dead is an unnatural power and it has a corrupting influence on those who wield it. So, be careful, for me?"

The idiot will surely completely disregard our warning and that's another point of foreshadowing for his fall to the dark side.
>>
>>27513640
It's not like it'd be hard to find out. Just ask him if he trained under someone. Give him an excuse to boast.
>>
>>27513667
Might be too obvious. Could potentially cost us our entire bank. Maybe Twen has an opinion on it.
>>
>>27513673
Oh, good idea.
>>
>>27513680
Shouldn't be too expensive, bad powers=bad people and shit like that. Plus, it doesn't actually need to be true. We just need to say it is on camera to get the foreshadowing in.
>>
>>27513712
I mean to exercise the foreshadowing and initiate the Rube Goldberg machine.
>>
>>27513738
Oh, yeah. That'd be expensive as hell. The foreshadowing's to get it cheaper. This is kind of a long term plan.
>>
"You skank," You can't hide the humor in your voice, "Alright Bonnie, what'd Clyde give you."

Konoko sits up, a smile on her face, "Enough that I don't know what to spend it on! I mean- holy crap, I could have my own sub cast! Just think- an annoying little brother that'd get in to hijinks and need bailing out- oooh, or I could have a grandmother to tell me gravely that I have a duty to uphold- wait, wait, wait, a mysterious and handsome foreign count inexplicably attracted to me trying to gain my hand in marriage! God," Konoko stands up, only wincing a little to pace around the room, "This is great! Our plan worked flawlessly, Miko!"
"Easy there, Konoko, you don't want to wake up everybody in this town," You stand up and ruffle her hair. Konoko is in too much of a good mood to care. It's infectious, "So, you're basically independent now then?"
"Yeah, basically," She smiles.

>Konoko is now her own character! She no longer needs to rely exclusively on Anon-kun for points.

"Well, I'm pretty happy for you actually Konoko," It's hard to admit, but you were proud of the girl. You were definitely growing soft, "I'm glad that things worked out- and you thought the sports themed occult fighting anime was dumb."
"It's still stupid," Konoko flatly says, before smiling, "But yeah. You've actually helped me out. Thanks, Miko."

She reaches in, and gives you a hug, hard. Which kind of surprises you, honestly.

>Increased draw from Konoko.
>New total, 0.46+0.40

"Hey, hey," You pat her head, "Let's not go totally crazy now. As it turns out...We got some troubles. I hate to rain on the parade but- Konoko, will you let go of me already?"

Konoko's voice is muffled by your shoulder, "And I was so happy..."
"I know, I know..."

"So, can't we just whack him?"

Anon as the Protagonist never needed to worry about points because he was the defining source of the narrative. Points are needed by a character to stay relevant to the story and not get written out/obliterated (although it's hardly fool proof, obviously).

Either you're being deliberately confusing, or you're obtuse and don't know what you're saying yourself.
>>
>>27513987
Woah, now, where did this hostility come from?

Look, upon re-reading the pastebin entry, I now realize that I misunderstood the second to the last paragraph incorrect. Still, that's no excuse for you to act like a passive-aggressive jerkass.
>>
>>27514034
I hope that's satirical, because if you're so un-self-aware that you can't realize that

>And my post. Please read the rest of it.
>Because I explicitly stated what you just said.

makes you sound like a huge knob, then you really don't have much of a leg to stand on? Furthermore, that wasn't "passive aggressiveness," that was "bait." ie, I intentionally only offer forth two opinions, both of which proclaim your incompetence. Being passive aggressive would've been more like "Some fucking assholes just can't read can they," said aloud to other anons, as if this were a Greek tragedy and I was acting as the chorus.
>>

"That's your answer to everything, Konoko."
"Worked on the skelerex."
"Well, the guy's not a skelerex. Just keep an eye out for a generic dude in glasses, okay Konoko? I think he was the one that offed Deadoko at the beginning- by the by, can you change your name?"
"What? Why should I? I like Konoko."
"Eh. Sharing his dead little sister's name has all kinds of ominous implications."
"We shall keep it under advisement," Konoko graciously decrees. You roll your eyes, and grin.
"Well then, your majesty, that's all we need to worry about. So, now that you're a big character all on your own," You stand up straight, try to put on your best bedroom eyes, "Feel like celebrat-" Footsteps approaching. You groan, look skyward as Konoko gives an apologetic shrug and dashes for her bed.

As you hurry to arrange your robes in to the proper place and take the 'concerned healer kneeling by the patient' position, you grumble to yourself "Nothing fun can ever happen here, god I feel like I'm in Waiting for Godot. Only in this case, it's waiting for release of s-"

The door slides open, and you serenely glance back- only for your expression to fall flat. Riritu.

"Riritu, where have you been? You weren't in class today," You're still not sure whether or not you needed to stay in character around this girl. Riritu seems very pale, dressed in her usual slutty school girl clothes.

"Oh~ Miko-chan?" She smiles at you, eyes shut, "How nice to see you- and Konoko-chan in bed too <3. Are you tired, Miko-chan?"
"No, not particularly at the moment."
"Really?" She pouts at that, "I was thinking I could take care of Konoko-chan for a moment. I saw Anon-kun, I heard there was a great fight!" She cocks her head, "And that Konoko-chan did very well! I'm sorry I missed it."
"Don't worry about it Riritu, I'm sure you'll be there next time," Man your knees hurt. You're not used to this shit.

"Mmm~ well, maybe you and I could be together for a while, Miko-chan?"

>Your move.

>Can someone explain the Best Girl trope/cliche/character/etc to me. I'm not familiar.
Best Girl means that you're a plot and audience favourite. Notorious Best Girls might be granted an extra layer of plot armour, get to killsteal more often, gain -- as was said in-story -- their own cast of supporting characters and are "Locked Into" their piece of media in the sense that they simply /cannot/ be written out.

TL;DR: Best Girl dies, the Universe goes with her. Simple as that.
Note: Best Girl does not mean she wins the protagonist's affections for good, only that they're usually rather close and that at times, he basks in /her/ radiance, rather than the other way round.

I hope my explanation was satisfactory.
>>
>>27514159

I don't know. Just really burned out right now for no good reason, and feeling too slow. I've got an arc in mind. Though, the direction you're going, I don't think it'll wrap up in quite a neat and tidy package.

>>27514159
Hexer basically summed it up, though not quite in the way I was writing in to the paste bin. More succinct. Konoko is an audience favorite. The narrative shall go to great length to protect her.

If she goes, there'll be trouble.

I'm doing crosstalk, an unforgivable sin. A sign of how tired I am. One more post, then I'm going to bed. Sorry folks.

It seems that people don't want to follow Lilith down a magical road. Writing.

Okay yes, sometimes, but she won't fade away at least. Which is 1) A lot more dignified for her and 2) By extension means we won't have to put up with quite as much paranoia from her any more.
It also means we can become HER supporting character due to the chemistry we set up until now with her as the brash tomboy and us as the more level-headed support caster.

"Ohhh, but Lilith-chan, I was hoping to take care of Konoko," You glance out of the corner of your eye to Konoko. She's still. Doing a pretty good job of pretending to be sleeping, "She's asleep- we can talk here, no?"

Lilith pouts at that, "Very well. It's about...Konoko. You see, Anon summoned me to find out what happened to his sister- our Konoko here and Anon's sister share the same name, no?"
"Yes, and John Adams and John Belushi share the same first name too!"
"I don't think you're taking this seriously."
"Right, right, sorry Lilith. Do go on."
"...Miko-chan, do you remember a piece of paper? Anon was looking for it."
"Piece of paper?" You raise an eyebrow at that.
"About this large-" Lilith pauses halfway through her hands rising and stops, looking at Konoko. Still looking at Konoko, she brings her hands together, forming a heart shape. She cocks her head at you. You, in turn raise your eyebrow quite baffled. Lilith lets her hands drop, and shakes her head.

"I'm sorry, Miko-chan- I suppose it's nothing then."
"Eh? Wait, I think-"
"Never mind, Archimboldi-san," She interrupted you. Surprising coming from Lilith. And she's pinging your evildar something fierce right now. Strange girl.

Lilith looks seriously at Konoko, then glances back up to you, "Never mind. I suppose it shall have to wait. I am sorry for bothering you, Archimboldi-san," She bows low, then raises, smiling, all chipper again, "I hope to see you at cheer practice tomorrow~!" She stands up, and walks out of the room, leaving you alone with Konoko.

You never know with that girl.
"Weird," Konoko murmurs from her laying down position, "Do you think she's jealous of me?"
"Any good love triangle needs jealousy, I suppose," You stretch, "But, that'll have to wait until tomorrow."

Maybe she wanted to cast a spell on her while distracting us -- (Spiral Heart Hadouken!) which is why we sensed her powering up -- but decided not to?

Nah, I'm pretty sure that was distinct from the paper, since she paused before doing so. My best guess is she was asking if we're involved with Konoko, but that doesn't make much sense
>Maybe she wanted to cast a spell on her while distracting us -- (Spiral Heart Hadouken!) which is why we sensed her powering up -- but decided not to?

Cause she knows us a support caster now and has reason to belief we would be trouble should we find out.

They do in yuri, all the time. Except in Strawberry Panic, but that's one isolated case.
That is, if you are still willing to man that boat. Remember we would be Konoko's Best Girl if we somehow make her the Protagonist and hope that goes better than when they tried to do that in Kannazuki no Miko

>evildar ping
Lilith realized Konoko is either Best Girl or independent. She's going to do something to her. Konoko thinks Lilith is just being jealous.
Or she got forcefully rewritten on the spot, which is why she started calling us by our last name, formally.

>>

I think it makes sense. Lilith is now desperate.

With that said, we should throw her a bone. She's possibly a being like us, trapped in a setting that's trying to selfdestruct lead by a douchelord.
