Last time in Mutant Hivemind we got our asses kicked by zombies(big time too user). We did manage to give the Super Mutants a bloody nose though. The Swamp is buzzing with activity thanks to the rampant zombie hordes that beyond being spawned from their hives are erupting from the very ground itself. The bandits are holding the lines at their bases barely. Mostly due to them deploying dirty bombs underground. The ghouls meanwhile are desperately trying to hold of a GIGANTIC Zombie horde. Things were going well the zombies seemed to have been routed with nukes...until they erupted from the ground among the ghoulish ranks breaking them. Quickly the so called rout was reversed. The other ghoul bases meanwhile have also deployed dirty bombs and dispatched reinforcements to hold the line. Looks like the ghouls plan to fight numbers with numbers. Mutation vs tech.

NEWS
We have been invited to attend the Coalition meeting. Basically where mutants, ghouls, and bandits go to bitch at each other. This years meeting we will be hosting. Apparently the Viroz had given permission for this for entire years. Not that much gets done usually.

Also, considering how closer we edge to the pop/strength required for the national border with each chapter gonna post this proposal I drew up. If anyone has objections, concerns, or additions your input is greatly valued.

Operation "Market Garden"

>Phase 1 - Tilling
After the establishment of a national borders, insurance to stability of the territory within, and after the area has been properly deforested and drained, efforts shall be undergone as to the beautification, cultural enhancing, and general improvement of conditions to facilitate livelihood. That is, the creation of roads, lawns, and construction of recreational facilities. Of great importance is the establishment of expanded farming and agricultural systems in the new land as well, complete with Dr. Claires botanical expertise.Though initially this will be done with the full weight of our construction crews, later it is a mere matter of spiderborgs and spiderborg ST's to maintain it all.

Sidenote: Possible inclusion of non hivemind allies within the territory or creation of border towns of equal value of existing Ghoul/Bandit towns, to remove the difficulty of having to completely clear the territory within tier 1 border.
>>
>>27522135
>Phase 2 - Telling
The territory shall be proclaimed a neutrality zone, a sanctuary and safe haven for all manner of sentient creature willing to orderly participate. Friends or foes, all conflict and machines of war must be left outside the borders. Just as none can become a Memor with animosity in ones heart, so too can none enter the neutrality zone with violence in his mind. Refugees of all kinds are welcome to stay, those willing to stay permanently have the incentive of a hearth and home, once joining the mind. Those who do not wish to join may/must leave in peace after a time.

Advertising shall also take place. This is especially directed at those with items to trade or willing to conduct trade within our borders. As such this is especially marketed towards prospective caravans wishing to set up shop or find refuge in the swamp. The creation of a centralized market and bazaar shall be a priority. In addition we shall also make effort as a major refueling station, seeing as how we have great biofuel facilities and access to much biomaterial. Tarrifs and tolls shall be appropriated where deemed necessary.

>Phase 3 - Selling
Upon completion of phase 2, final efforts shall be made to maximize profits and gains. These include the numerous "recreational facilities", replica's of the lovenest, where guests of all can find many different forms of entertainment. Food, alchohol, and all manner of women with the peak collective knowledge of our race the great sensual deletion. In addition, other forms of entertainment are also encouraged, such as the potential of building arena's for the combatative sports, and coordination with local bandits for the annual Bandit Games

This is yet another incentive to convince potential recruits to stay as well as put in good word for our nation. In short, we have the potential to benefit of trade, recruitment, and bettered reputation from all nation. And establishing a place that everyone would be discontent if threatened

>Bioborg STs have largely been completed research wise.
So we can presume the following are true?

Was thinking of new names for ease of nomenclature/differentation of borgspiders and BorgST's.
>Constructor - Fixer equivalent. An assortment of heavyduty construction implements. Armed with buzzsaws, cranes, claws, bulldozer blade, backhoe loader, riveting guns, and dumpbucket, and an assortment of industrial implements for the processing of meat, scrap, or dirt. As the fixer, can make repairs to other ST's and even larger vechs on the field. As such repairs may no longer take an action move to make but rather be automated.
>Matriarch - Mother equivalent. Nearly an SST in her own right, most powerful of the BorgST's. Manufactures eggs from consumed flesh/steel. Carries dozens of proto borgST's on its back as the const/fix spiders nurture them
>Webber - Webby equivalent. Chews foilage/monster meat into one of strongest material on earth. Where webbers could seal leaks in machinery pipes, this one can seal leaks in dams or river banks, in groups capture even a great monster. Sticky webs wrek havoc on enemy machinery and all manner of legged things.
>Bomb Layer - Feeler equivalent. rather than mines, lays large bombs of the type to combat vehicles and monsters.
>Leaper - Jumper equivalent. A leaping tank. With great jaws that snap tree's like twigs in seconds. Entirely offensive, close quarters, on par with even normal swamp monster. With cooperation with Webbers also dig itself into a trapdoor, and lure in unsuspecting enemy tanks into a deathtrap.
>>
>>27522348
>Leaper ST capable of being retrofitted with the older ST variants (Bandit, Artillery, Plasma, Laser, and Transport). Once refitted it loses the self replicable bonus, but gain a significant weapon and pilot training bonus. This process is carried out by the fixer-constuctor cooperation for maximum resource gathering/upgrading efficiency with relatively low cost.
>BorgST's are connected to Richards hivenet for complete cooperation and synchronization with the existing Spiderborg network.
>Repairs/replacements/construction of other BorgST's are carried out automatically by both Fixer spiders and Constructor ST's and no longer require a basic move.
>Spiderborgs are also capable of, rather than laying another borgST egg in a monster corpse, laying an egg filled with a mother or hundreds of normal borgST's and starting a nest

Alert

Doctor Claire is currently visiting the bunker overhauling their farms much to Burk's annoyance.

Ghouls who were former zombies. Are basically blank slates according to Irewin. So long as they stay fed they wont go feral...problem is there may not be enough food to go around. Which leads to survival of the fittest scenario. Our armaments have been exhausted in our own facilities. There was such a demand for them we even had to tap into the Bunker stores. Currently they are busy fending feasting upon nearby zombie hordes, constructing their dens, and acquiring vehicle wrecks for ghoulish conversion.

The new type of mutant ghouls we have sent samples to Richard. He has promised to look into zombie strains and these new types. In that regard we already got a message. Apparently somehow the zombie mutants got ghoulified. Which is normally non existent. It seems a mutation may have occurred with either the ghoulish pathogen itself or the wrong zombie mutation had an unfortunate side effect. Either way unlike most ghouls who are human like somewhat...mutant types are not. At best their a twisted humanoid. Most of them are beastly if not outright monstrous .

Retrofitting of BioBorg STs is not currently possible. We do have a prototype available however.

Monster corpses cannot produce Spiderborgs even with eggs. Nest occurance is rather strange. Considering the hostility of the swamp nests to stick close to our settlements for protection otherwise they would be overwhelmed.

As is however it is worth noting that though they can reproduce it requires resources.

Already used it last thread.

Dr. Clair has made some breakthroughs for a our food production as 'now safe for human consumption'! Other then that our farms got overhauled with whatever the hell it is that she figured out how to make. Even managed to get Clora'Zel to take a look and improve on even more...though our farms are kinda overgrown thanks to that.

Basic 2 most monsters are editable especially if you got a mutant or even ghoul gut. Hell even humans can consume most monsters to a degree. Some however are quite toxic even for mutants.

Ghouls have been handed off to nearby ghoul factions in exchange for some armaments. Or at least that was supposed to happen as it turns out ghouls fucking HATE slavery, when you try to sell them their own especially when they are sentient still. As it turns out they only 'enslave' other creatures for food. While they view ferals as pets. Basically they are more then a little pissed at us at the moment nor did we get our ghouls back for that matter.

Lesson learned today. Ghouls may like eating people but they don't like slavery unless for food.

Whoa we started enslaving sentients? I thought we were collecting ferals and trading like before. When did we decide to do that?
>>
>>27523155

There's not really time for that. If we don't reinforce the ghouls now then we're going to be facing the full force of the gigantic zombie horde (and our military is a pittance against their) before the Coalition even begins.

Also, EDE noted that we would have to develop a new type of Bioborg ST if we wanted automatic resource collection. We have a new prototype (of our specification, I believe, though EDE didn't explicitly say so) available.

Now may not be the best time though, what with our one flank about to imminently buckle, and the other also being close to buckling and held by a bunch of swarthy dishonorable do-no-gooders.
>>

We're dishonorable do-no gooders. At least the Bandits have their use, the Hillbillies are basically taking away a very comfy buffer from our west and leaving us more open in that direction.

In any event let's review our midterm goals
>Sending immediate military assistance to the ghouls, somehow
>Holing up and bunkering down until the coalition meeitng in 4 turns. Maybe get some science done.

By the way we ever get some crystal work done last thread? Did the Doomcanon ever get started?
>>
>>27523236
Which is what concerns me. Last I remember we collected ferals only. Collecting sentients against there will is a bad idea, for relations especially.
>>
Rolled 70

>>27523122

Well it seems we need to help the ghouls, now. How do we go about doing that? We don't have nearly the strength that the ghouls do, so we need to fight smarter, not harder.

Captcha: ProNn presence

Perhaps we use our psionics to broadcast porn into the ghouls' mind in the heat of battle. The promise of what lies ahead if they win drives them to new heights of ferocity and they demolish the zombie horde.
>>
Rolled 72

>>27523261

Nah, we don't have enough crystals for the doom cannon. I think we have low-mediocre crystal railguns now though, but not many of them.

On the upside, all of our troops got their basic strength and speed upgraded. Also, we have the bioproduction facilities: Hell Hole, Egg Nest+, Sack Nests, and whatever the basic-tier ones were
>>
Rolled 50

>>27523283
Nah that is when you just have Richard delete their Pron and then blame the zombies user.
>>
>>27523283
>Perhaps we use our psionics to broadcast porn into the ghouls' mind in the heat of battle
Erm. . .that idea is noted.

I think their morale is perfectly fine, their ferocity is tied to their hunger and survival skills. Plus I'm not sure they'd be fond of that nor do we have the reach. What we should do if we're going for immediate military air is deal with the zombie camp to the east that's pinning the both of us down.
>>
Rolled 75

>>27523334
We've tried ve to pry at that particular hive loads of times though, and each time we sent a scout they barely made it out with their skins.

What we can do is possibly upgrade our radioactive abilities. The Novakon are a good base for some kind of radiation generating creation by Clora or Richard.
We could shower the hive with artillery produced by them and give us and the gouls a big bonus.
>>
Rolled 64

>>27523334

That's a good idea, what do we use to do it? We have a considerable for of fleshbeasts (though Clora is currently depressed), and a hefty force of feral ghouls (though Irewin, their leader, was recently trapped in a zombie hive and blew it up with a nuke somehow...so he may not be the most willing to go back into one). Our mutants are more numerous than in the past, but we're very ill trained so in combat we tend to stat-out to be pretty flimsy.
>>
Rolled 33

>>27523399
*artillery shells loaded with radiation
>>
Rolled 34

Its worth noting that if we deploy our forces to reinforce the ghouls they are going to have to avoid the growing zombie hordes and make it there. Which may take a while as in a 1 turn for our forces to reach them.
>>
Rolled 54

>>27523399

Our artillery would be susceptible to counterattack (it always is, OPs never let us shoot at something from safety), but that's the best idea thus far I think.

>>27523454

What out have you set up for us this time, you sly A.I., you?
>>
>>27523407
Well >>27523399 sounds promising, if we can research a radiation based weapon.

Speaking of which I also had another idea for a proposed BorgST variant that could possibly come in handy here. I thought of it with SHW in mind, but it could work against zombieflesh just as well.

>Spiderborg Spewer and BorgST Sprayer - Armed with a stinger and spraying glands/hoses. Anti-Flesh dedication. Holds two tanks filled with highly caustic alkali and acid, respective, as well as an array of other poisons we have developed that can be sprayed at great distance. Melt their flesh right off the bones, and then melt the bones. Our biofacilities should be able to produce chemicals in great number.
>Tactics include spraying into monsters eyes, jumping on monsters as webbers cocoon them and stining them with anisthetics for captures/take downs, and melting/sabotaging enemy vechs. Acid/Alkali combo very effective against enemy flesh.
>>
>>27523334
I'm still havn't completely caught up on the archive but I Think I've read enough to know somewhat what I'm talking about (though more recent events are kind of iffy for me)
I'm going to propose (again) some new mutations.
1. Increased fertility
2. Giving birth to tripplets instead of single Babies.
3. The ability for the consensus to override the wishes of individuals of the hivemind (to stop rogues or derranged individuals. can also be used to create a suicide solder if the need is great)

and to make 2 new races.
1. The artificial womb whose role is soley to take the eggs and sperm of other races and give birth to working Youngs that is 100% the donors race and has no relation to the Young other than having carried it to fruition.
2. small hivemind nodes to be connected to bioborgs, tanks etc etc to remove the need for pilots and instead directly connect them to the hivemind to be controlled that way. also prevents any possible betrayal by Richard from being as fatal as it could be.

We should also research a reliable killswitch for our old doomsday virus, so that we can release containers of it and having it wipe out all organics in a 1km radius etc. or having it replicate itself x times which would lead to a certain lifetime for the virus etc. This would lead to us actually being able to use the virus in fights and as a terror weapon without having to risk wiping out all Life (that should still be a backup plan while we hide in bunkers)

Do zombies have brains?

We do have a decent supply of crystals.
I was rethinking the idea of the "Silent Megaphone" devices. In addition to the psionic blast that is like nails on chalkboards x1000, we can also add high powered subwoofers for actual physiological disorientation and compound the debilitating effect.
>Since we don't hear infrasonic frequencies very well, we are often unaware of exactly how loud the sounds are. At 130 dB, the inner ear will start undergoing direct pressure distortions unrelated to normal hearing, which can affect your ability to understand speech. >At about 150 dB, people start complaining about nausea and whole body vibrations, usually in the chest and abdomen. By the time 166 dB is reached, people start noticing problems breathing, as the low-frequency pulses start impacting the lungs, reaching a critical point at about 177 dB, when infrasound from 0.5 to 8Hz can actually drive sonically induced artificial respiration at an abnormal rhythm. In addition, vibrations through a substrate such as the ground can be passed throughout your body via your skeleton, which in turn can cause your whole body to vibrate at 4–8Hz vertically and 1–2Hz side to side

Pin them down, and chop them to pieces.
>>
>>27523533
this sounds like a good plan. why not use it on low Power to just make them avoid areas and then herd them how we'd like them to go? into traps etc.

>1. Increased fertility

Clora already does that to the best of her abilities. Inducing artificial mutation without genetic deg
>3. The ability for the consensus to override the wishes of individuals of the hivemind (to stop rogues or derranged individuals. can also be used to create a suicide solder if the need is great)
Also accomplished, at least for nonheroes. The common Memor is loyal to the core, but is also far more genetically precious for suicide missions

>1. The artificial womb whose role is soley to take the eggs and sperm of other races and give birth to working Youngs that is 100% the donors race and has no relation to the Young other than having carried it to fruition.
Apparently we already have those
>2. small hivemind nodes to be connected to bioborgs, tanks etc etc to remove the need for pilots and instead directly connect them to the hivemind to be controlled that way. also prevents any possible betrayal by Richard from being as fatal as it could be.
Also done, it's called Hivenet. And Richard's loyal hasn't come into question yet, we've been his best provider (so far)

The hivemind already, for practical purposes, overrides the will of the individual. Our soldiers are suicide soldiers. That's actually the only reason we can still find people to pilot our vehicles

We already have the artificial womb race, we acquired that when we acquired Clora'Zel, EDE mentioned it last thread.

The hivemind nodes idea is good, though I'm not sure the hivemind works like that. I think that we would essentially have to breed a brain and integrate it into the vehicles as biotech in order for them to not need/get bonuses from having a pilot. Also, Bioborgs are already integrated into the Hivenet, so we can see what they see and direct their movement to a degree.

The doomsday virus may or may not be feasible. Everyone that's anyone of import in this day and age seems to have means of neutralizing biological agents.

okay. good, then most of my ideas have been implemented ^^ but if only the swamp is immunized then shouldn't we be able to use the virus vs the human/zombie enemies with impunity without worrying about the apocalypse? If not I suggest we research a better virus.
And Richards loyalty still seems sketchy to me. What happens when a better offer comes along? Or he gets bored of us? Such a risk should have contingencies in case the worst happens. Also for dealing with the zombies. Why not create a natural predator, just a small insect whose entire diet consists of zombies? A swarm of locust that eats all the zombies and then dies of as the only food they could digest disappeared?

The Heart of the Swamp evolved monsters on a scope that we couldn't hope to recreate By the way, OP has hinted that we can figure out how to control the swamp monsters and they're running amok and still aren't enough to deal with the zombies...so I don't think that'll work.

>And Richards loyalty still seems sketchy to me. What happens when a better offer comes along? Or he gets bored of us? Such a risk should have contingencies in case the worst happens.
We've given him everything, pledged our loyalty to him. Also there's Clora, she and him already have an intertwined fate in the past and she's very loyal to us, being part of the mind and considering us her brood (which to a degree we are)
He has a lot to lose by leaving us.

>Also for dealing with the zombies. Why not create a natural predator
Already exist. It's called Ghouls
>just a small insect whose entire diet consists of zombies? A swarm of locust that eats all the zombies and then dies of as the only food they could digest disappeared?
Spiderborgs and SpiderborgST's. But the sheer number of them is what prevents that, as well as the swamp being hostile to even the more powerful insects the size of vehicles. We actually have fleshbeast mosquitoes, but their not entirely apt for that kind of effect and their as big as we can make them and still fly. The swamp is too dangerous for that type of creature to survive.

Hmm, how about chaning it to an insect that hijacks the zombies neurollogical system at the spine perhaps? And obeys the hivemind, instant mindcontrolled zombies. And we could also change them to affect other creatures, And perhaps make it so that they procreate a Little inside the host and then when Another potential host is nearby they are released to infect that one as well. From that we could due to exponential growth soon have entire zombie swarms under our controll. And potentially other creatures. And since they are inside the zombies they need not fear a lot of the predators that would otherwise hunt them.

What you're proposing is that we make a disease that zombifies zombies into hivemind-zombies.

I say we take what we learned from that and improve the design then. Find out what Went wrong and fix it, start small with trials of small parts of the hivemind that are cut off from the rest and experiment until we get it to work.
Add failsafes that prevents backlashes etc.

Well. virus bomb the zombies ( I assume they are one of the few factions that don't have immunity. seeing as they are pretty mindless and genetically stable) to solve that problem and then go on researching?
Or if we've already researched that bug earlier it should be a lot easier and faster making an improved version of it now. we might want to add in some kind of buffer that takes the brunt of the psychic force that comes from forcing something like that.

Not sure how old mindcontroll bugs worked. But if these just hijack the neurological system the host won't be part of the hivemind and risk affecting it. just the bug that uses the host like a puppet will be part of the hivemind. just like any of the other races in it. just saying ^^

Hmm. I'm just brainstorming right now. But couldn't we possibly in the future create either a powerful mutagen, or a bug to carry a mutagen and infect the watersupplies etc of the human cities to make the humans mutate a receptibility for the hivemind and a natural tendency to link up to it. Our population could skyrocket if this works out. Then we could easilly mutate those into what we want them to be, or have them take any Resources they could to us, etc.
This won't be like a mindcontroll bug since the humans will be mutated into a being that seeks to join. The whole consentual joining part can easilly be bypassed by having the mutation include obsessive tendencies towards the instictive joining with the hivemind.
If there is a reason this wouldn't work please tell me ^^ just trying to come up with lots of stuff that could help us in hopes that some of them would work.

Hmm. For mechanical enemies such as STs etc, could we possibly create tiny bioborgs that sneak into them, searching for the reactors causing them to go critical. Or if that doesn't work other vital systems or hydralics etc. or just make the ammo storage go BOOM.
This method is also unlikely to be discovered for atleaso some time and therefore continue to be effective seeing as any successfull operation with this would also erase any evidence of them existing. And this way we could eliminate large parts of the enemys forces Before the figthing even begins, either just the tank. or the tank and anything around it in case of reactors. or fuel/ammo storages.

We have those. The Fixer spiders, and the Constructor BorgST's.

The issue is they often also have countermeasures.

Still, I can imagine how kickass they are when they can do that.

>One of the favorite tactics of Leaper ST's is to load itself up with hundreds of fixers and jumpers on its back, who will cling on tight. It leaps onto an enemy tank or monster and uses its huge jaws to rip through the carcass and open up a hole, where then the hundreds of spiders on its back pour in on the unlucky tank pilots or sensitive innards of the monster. After this, the spiders use the corpse or the wreck and salvage it for resources to multiply.
>>
>>27524543
Hmm, that's why we add some kind of acid or other ways to force an entrance in some hard to see parts of the vehicle. These would not be in combat creatures, these would be let lose Days or weeks Before battle is joined so they have plenty of time to do what they need to. and then either when sufficient of them have breached their targets or they have started being discovered they all go off at once, either to just take them out. or to create confusion and an edge for our attack that comes then.

>>
>>27524625
Guys, there's also another issue about the serum.
All it does is open up people to being persuaded, and this must be done in the vinicty of Clora's aura and have actual people trying to persuade them to open up.

And in addition, it SEVERELY pisses off people with the intelligence and experience who can detect it. Like we nearly had 1000 bandits revolt on us because we tried it and they wised up to it. Sure it'll work on the weaker willed, but then we still have to get them to come out our base.

Developing it for use in our base is a good idea, so long as we filter the strong from weak minded.

No, that was the mutation serum. We gave them the mutation serum (without them knowing it) and had Clora under the floor trying to persuade them to want to join the hivemind.

I agree though, we should keep it in the base unless we have specific targets.
>>
>>27524737
In theory the hivenets range is 2500 miles. The issue isn't that they can't act on it's own. The issue is the swamp and tunnels are far to hostile for them to survive. Most of the existing nests surround our base for a reason.

Under better circumstances, they'd probably populate the swamp ages ago.
>>

>>
>>27524773
No actually we didn't give them the mutation serum, we offered it to those who were willing to join the mind. The mutation serum just helps them mutate faster.
If we just fed it to them without them accepting first, we would have people mutating who might not want to join, and that's just incriminating evidence against us. We offer it to them after they accept.

They were mad about detecting Clora's call to them, but mostly because they were elites and experienced enough to detect it.

>>
Rolled 48

>>27524846
>I vote that we incorporate a mutation into EVERYTHING we mutate that causes them to become depressed, lethargic and eventually suicidal without the precence of the hivemind.
But why? What good is doing that to people who sometimes fall out of the hiveminds grasp?
Our heroes have extra privacy priveleges and sometimes drop in and out on secret missions.

Also there is no such thing as a "forced" conversion. All conversions to the mind must be done with a willing heart and consent. In addition there is already and absolute loyalty garauntee for all normal hivemind members, as well as Memor already feel aboslutely lonely and depressed when away from the mind.
>>
Here, let me post the estalbished Memor Rules.

1.) Broodmother can now convert humans to mutant and join hivemind with telepathic ease. Not garaunteed but just "encouraging". Addition of other efforts to win hearts and minds still recommended. Offspring of these normal converted concieve and grow up in the Memor manner and don't degenerate the genepool.
2. Artificial breeder feasble. Can be useful for generating soldiers in quick sucession, but these should not be allowed to breed or risk degredation of future generations.
3. Broodmother discovered in underground facility. Increases fertility rate of reproduction and intercourse in her broodnest vicinity. Releases juices especially useful for healing, but which cannot be stored and must be used in her vicinity as well.
4. Absolute control of base functions and robots by A.I. restored.
5. Hivemind membership is by consent and mutation, all entirely easy thanks to broodmother. Once joined of volition, loyalty is, in practice, assured. The hivemind does not allow for slavery of it's members within the hivemind, crimes are nigh difficult, and major actions within the hivemind are monitored and by consent of the hivemind masses
>>
6. Certain hero units have the strength and willpower to hide their thoughts from the hive-mind, even massive plots and secrets. This can lead to mistakes and unseen actions and conspiracies by the heroes, but the rest of the Memor masses do not and should not be feared of treason or action without hive-mind consent or supervision.
7. New strain of supervirus by Richard. One strain been deemed feasible for battle purposes.
8. The hivemind/overmind is capable of surviving without the presence of the Prophet of fate.
9. Radiation now heals. Don't ask how. It's mutation I ain't gotta explain.
10. Broodmother aura vicinity can make everything work better, organics, machines and all.
11. Broodmother's subliminal "encouraging" can be used to increase convert turnout, however expect increased dissent among those with the experience or intelligence to detect it, and vice versa. The more experience the more likely they will pick up, while conversely the less experienced the less they will pick up. As such, populations used by the Broodmother (and any other psionic/subliminal/chemical) methods should be used on a group where they would not be likely to pick up, or where dissent by the rejectors would not pose a serious issue.
>>
>>27524891
>Also there is no such thing as a "forced" conversion. All conversions to the mind must be done with a willing heart and consent.

If your very being screams out for the hivemind like a junky craving the next fix there will be "willing and constentual" conversions, even from people that loathe us. If it's giving in to an urge or constantly having to deal with mental ( maybe physical as well?) anguish that is so powerfull you'd rather kill yourself than experience it any longer I know which one I'd pick. Sure, some of them might kill themselves rather than join up, but if it's just giving in to instict they might not even know they've joined until it's to late, and even if they knew, most people would join anyway just to make the anguish go away. That would be willing.
Sure we might not get everyone, but we would get many more than we do now. And we'd get our enemies and people with power if we do it correctly. So make it airborne, Mosquitoe borne etc so we can deploy it in cities and BAM thousands of conversions.
Do I get evil point cookies? :3

Secrets for the Mutant-zombie-ghouls seems to be that somehow the usual immunity/death for them failed. Apparently we got ourselves a new ghoulish pathogen interesting. Allowing ghoulification they are quite brutal having enjoyed the effects of first zombie power up then mutant power up finally finishing off with the ghoul power up. Worst part is some of them are still sentient. Most can't communicate that well. In any case we discovered some things about ghouls.

1 There is a slumbering disease in all beings that will infect the same species that dines upon them. Once said individual dies they rise up as a ghoul.

2 radiating a zombie causes weakens the zombie virus and sends a message to the Ghoul disease. If zombie is basic the zombie virus gets overwhelmed and transformation occurs. If zombie is a powerful(such as a mutant strain) it will instead may kill them as the two diseases fight to death for control.

3 Some individuals may turn into a ghoul while living what triggers this or even where the disease came from is unknown.

Zombie hordes are gathering up together to form HUGE ones.

The ghoulish lines are about to crumble before the GIGANTIC Zombie horde. They just can't deal with being attacked from all sides much less above or below as well.

We already do offer prisoners the choice between hivemind and death. But consent isn't just saying "yes" they must also believe they want to join. True consent in it's purest form. Simply wanting the pain and torture to end isn't enough. Torture would just put anger in their hearts, and you cannot join with animosity.

Also, we're especially gonna piss of shitloads of people who happen to don't drink the water (and we've taken ages to just start trading)and again , fleshbeast mosquito's don't get that far from the base without some other nasty eating them (and probably being immune to the serum).

Evil is fine. But it must be practical evil.

So basically, you get mortally wounded by a ghoul you either become one or die if you're not immune.

Did that spewer spiderborg ST just sprayed forth explosives?

EXPLOSIONS!

...Awesome.
Command overview commencing user.

Triangles are major forts circles are bases. Ghoul trenches have already been overwhelmed. Vehicles wrecks are also common through out. Solid pink is pure packed zombie goodness. The hazy pink is them spreading out/dying. Terrain is typical wretched swamp. A few tunnels are apparent mostly with more zombies going in or out.

All the ghoul bases are under attack from top(flying ghouls) below(tunnels/burrowers) and from all sides. Our forces and ghoulish reinforcements have largely dealt with the immidiate flankers. Ghoul bases further back are preventing HUGE zombie hordes from attacking us from behind.

And we release the mosquitoes near the target, we don't let them fly from the base.

We do it all the time, everytime we go out to scavenger resources we usually just find an old battlefield and pluck up the wrecks. Also that's where the spiders get their scrap from.

Ok. i just remember a fight where we lost pretty much our entire army and no1 mentioned going back there to scavenge, and subsequent scavange rolls the 2-3 threads atleast just came up with mediocre results. nothing to indicate the ammount of Resources that should be avaible in that battlefield. It has been mentioned that a lot of the factions have been immunized to the virus bomb, has the zombie horde to our knowledge been so? otherwise VIRUS BOMB (at a safe distance ofc with the killswitch) all around among the zombies.
We might also want to consider sacrificing a few of our reactors to airdrop as Dirty bombs around our fortifications at a distance out to create a radiated zone to ghoulify the zombies, thinning them out and getting us potential allies.e

Mini-reactors are incredibly precious and hard to come by. Such a thing would only be done as a last resort measure at our very gates.

In any event, I have 3 proposals planned.
1. Like a scythe, we sweep in and try to relieve the pressure on the frontlines by cutting through the front directly
2. We simply equally split our forces and deal with each base, reinforcing their positions, and hold the line
3. We split into three groups and systematically deal with the three bases fronts, like plan 1, albeit covering more area in shorter time.

Anyone else have suggestions or objections pleas say so.

First run went fine the second run though zombies knew what was coming and we saw a literal tower of zombies form and pluck a bomber right out of the air. Not to mention flier zombies came out in force the bombers succeeded in their run but flew away quite bloodied. We put a dent in their numbers problem is there is just so goddamn many of them.

Ghoul bases are slowly being overrun in particular the ones near the edge. One of whom has fallen to the horde.

That was when we used to Entropic Virus to devasting effect. The zombies began to fall to the virus like crazy. Not even some of the mutant strains are safe from its wrath. The zombies are still trying to advance but are dropping like flies. Apparently the entropic virus is just as effective if not more so then before. Major problems remains with the underground and flight zombies as they are able to avoid the scourge of it. All of whom are advanced as well.

>>
>>27527472
But Clora protects the hivemind from that sort of attack.
It was part of her bonus she gained a while back. And we have the Prophet. She or the prophet sense something is amiss, they shield the entire mind and cuts it off immediately.

Though I agree, I'm concerned about the virus. This is why I at least want to test it on a control group.
>>
>>27527472

Besides they're not attaching to the hivemind direct, but rather some sort of broodmind like Clora does to her fleshbeasts. Seperate but under the control of someone within the hivemind. Hivemind requires sentience and consent that I don't think the zombies can provide.

Fleshbeast forces have been deployed.

Mad Science
After Clora'Zel had gone over it this time Richard did. Control works fine problem is joining the Hivemind...or so says Richard but then again he can't ACTUALLY join the hivemind in the first place. So no idea about how that may effect things. He has improved it though.

Matriach has established herself and begun churning out spiderborgs.

Forces are holding the line ghouls are not so lucky. Their remaining forces are about to buckle and they about lost the outer defenses of their bases. That isn't even including the havoc that zombie strike teams are having inside their lines to begin with. They are in bad shape user.

what? no!! there is no need to destroy them. just keep them in reserve if we don't plan on using them right now. She does not necessarily have access to our bio-manipulation facilities or capabilities we do. Judging by our having to deal with zombies she's just very good at psionics. Specifically infiltrating other people's psionics.

Fuck that. If we even want to use this shit completely redesign it. NOT the hivemind itself. Maybe some kind of seperate broodmind (zombie mind)? But as of now, not this.

Virus. Parasite. If it's to the effect that they get connection to the hivemind en masse, then no.

Mad Science:
Develop anti-zombie hivemind tactics

For Ghoul Zone tactics:
Have the fleshbeasts defend from underground attacks, and defend the inside of the bases (close quarters are where they excel), also attack the zombie strike teams with their elite units.

Also, utilize entropic virus attacks again on the front lines. Try and give the ghouls enough time to reman the defenses of their bases.

Btw EDE. which version of the parasite was it? the one that takes over the nervous system (in which case there is no need whatsoever to worry about our hivemind since the zombies would never be a direct part of it) or the kind that connects the zombie to our hivemind? and even if the latter the prophet and our broodmother should be able to withstand SWH (if she tries to take our hivemind) long enough for the virusbombs to take out all the infected zombies. so either we solve this problem and get a horde of zombies and prove that we can use this. or we prove that she can assault the hivemind that way, get a clear answer and then wipe out tons of zombies with the virus. note should be taken that the ones responsible for the firing of the virusbombs should NOT be part of the hivemind.
>>
Rolled 11

Richard shrugs about the Virus saying he his knowledge of biotech is pathetic compared to the other heroes.

Clora'Zel looked up from her tinkering and stated if anyone tried anything to get access into the Hivemind their gonna have a REALLY nasty surprise waiting for them.

Richard stated the parasite works finding before dissecting a zombie and parasite union tinkering with it even more. This time he states that he is going to make sure nothing goes wrong if someone should tinker with the zombie even psionicly.

Rasa looks at us funny stated "How can understand the flesh when I am not of it".
>>
guys! how many veiled hints does EDE need to give us? we are NOT front line fighters! we need to start doing some covert buttfuckery. my first idea would be to send 1/2 of our visen in super stealth to just generaly ruin zombies days. little stuff that hurts like killing officers and dropping grenades in ammo stores and cutting fuel lines ect. we have so much covert shit but everyone fucking refuses to use it! WHY?!
(this is my 1st real contribution to this quest so im not comfortable coming up with my own idea s for actions)

This may be our last chance to pull back. Do you really want to risk entrapping our Ghoul army and 4 of our heroes to a sure death? There horde is going for a push, and new heroes are driving them.
We should fallback, scorch the earth on our way, and fortify the secondary line, as well as pull back the matriarch behind it as well.

I know. We seem to make tons of nifty stuff that we could use all the time, but people Always seem to get unduly paranoid about it even when we've taken all necessary precautions, then it ends up with a headfirst charge where 1/2 of the army dies.

>Basic 1
Fortify the base: Biological defenses, an intricate tunnel network crisscrossing around an area just outside the base's outermost perimeter inhabited by worms. The worms live in the pre-made tunnel network most of the time, expanding it slowly using saliva that hardens into a very weak cement on contact with water. They breed and multiply, slowly expanding the tunnel network as their population increases always just enough for their needs. Mostly they're peaceful and docile, feeding on various funguses and lichens suited to grow in their (remarkably dry) home.

Their tunnels are not, however, strong enough to stand the shaking of ground when...say, a mass infantry advance is underway, or large vehicles are advancing. At such times the tunnel networks begin to fracture, driving the worms into masses at the points of greatest damage, desperately trying to keep the specially adapted plants of their home alive, even at the expense of their own. The water of the swamp, you see, reacts with the alkaline bodies of the worms. Normally this isn't such a big deal, it introduces small amounts of clean water into the tunnel system for the plants to feed on, an strengthening the surrounding network where ever there's a leak.

En masse, however, the salts and heat from masses of worms being flooded in water combined with fractured (often powdered) tunnel material mixes together into an...EXPLOSIVE EXPERIENCE! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

tl;dr Worms living around the base that turn into fuckmassive mines when large groups of enemies advance towards us.

We avoid it by having specially reinforced roads to move in/out on.

here is what I suggest as failsafes for the parasite.
1. we partition that part of from the rest of the hivemind.
2. zora and the prophet will have to be vigilant.
3.>>27528222
4. We aim the entropic virus agains the zombies that will be infested with the parasite. controlled by those that are not currently inside the hivemind
5. 5. Make it so that the parasites only work one-way with the hivemind. they can only recieve orders but not send back feedback. that way we can order them around but not see through their eyes leading to us having to have a man on site or a vertibird or whatever so we can order them around. This would make it impossible though for SWH to gain access to the hivemind, happy then? they would just be recievers for orders (tuned to our specific frequency ofc)

for that to fail then first
A. the parasite has to actually connect with their hivemind when it's mostly just using the body as a puppet.
B. SHW must have the ability to attack that way.
C. zora and the prophet must nut be able to resist her.
D. The parasites must lose the ability to blow themselves up.
E. The zombies must spontaniously become immune to the virus.
F. be able to connect to our hivemind without a way to connect to it......

You are Commander Jer of the these bases right now your forces are sending out one final push. You claimed it was to buy the muties time. That was a lie what was really going to happen was you were about to unleash the flood-works. So your forces charged out. With one final push the last of your forces charged into the maw of the beast.

You are Kergan you see nothing but zombies yet you charged.

You are Morka you throw the last of your grenades into the enemy.

You are Jess you ran out of ammo and began to pummel the zombies to death with your empty gun.

You are Jez you just activated are under the enemy making sure the plasma veins are still running you had already made your fore-way deep into the darkest depths where even the tunnels dare not tread. There you found a very special facility.....

"Security overrides accepted beginning countermeasures of sector D9 through G5.

They worked glorious the infected zombies turned on their comrades and spread causing massive amount of havoc. That was until they froze in place as if paraylyzed. Then came a psionic shriek

I SSEEE YOOUUU.

and push the infected zombies...they were being halted psionicly and something pushed MASSIVELY against our Overmind.

You are Ingrid you are currently facing of against a zombie that leaps between the overgrown trees it leaps towards you claws outstretched and mouth full of razor teeth opened impossibly wide. The last thing you saw are eyes full of all consuming hunger as you raised your last half broken knife.

That was when our heroes Prophet, Clora'Zel, and even Rasa fought back desperately trying to hold the tide. They were succeeding until it used the the infected zombies as nodes to draw out the HUNGER of ALL the zombies and used that raw power to brute force its way through.

You are Ger a zombie now hit with a parasite of which you obeyed. Didn't have much choice despite your hunger you were forced to attack those who did not smell good. Then you got frozen somehow that was when you felt the strange touch that could even manipulate the hunger which then opened you up as a channel for it all...

Despite our amazing defenses our our resistance was overwhelmed. Our forces began to go mad and even our precious hivemind began to fall around us. That was until a very special kill switch was activated killing the parasitic zombies instantly.

When our forces came to was when a GIGANTICLY MASSIVE GIGGA EXPLOSION swept across the Eastern Swamp that woke them up....which was now completely gone.

>>27530114
They are dead. The zombies were pouring over them and infesting the fallen bases.
>>
>>27530189
I really wonder how she managed to go through the wrong way of a one-way Communicator :o seeing as the parasites were only capable of recieving information, not sending it. this needs investigating. atleast we now know that the killswitch works and that SWH somehow can break into our hivemind without an acces Point as long as she has a reciever as a frame of reference... or something. either that or all the failsafes weren't implemented.

In the place that once stood the Zombie Marsh was nothing but a thick fog of toxic hellish gas, geysers of plasma errupting everywhere, and a seeming ocean of lava. The surviving zombie had fled desperately at our forces...they had entirely encompassed the fallen ghoulish bases which all detonated in a spectacular nuclear explosion. Twisting the survivors that were not outright killed into more ghouls.

There stood a strange fellow and ghoul in the halo of green sickly light. Carving out a certain sign in the perfect place to overlook at what occurred. It had a very simple message.

"Overriding feeling is the surest way to walk right of a cliff into the maw of the awaiting predator".

'Let is be said that ghouls may have to feed due to the hunger but we also can feel besides that very hunger. The zombie could not despite their superior everything because of that hunger they were blinded and walked right into our 'deathtrap'. A technique we had learned from the small, brilliant, and vicious Memor. You know the brain? Only thing 'she' did was forcefully reactavte it countering the parasite then used said zombie to channel forth the hunger and the parasite as a gateway...directly into your Overmind. You had everything figured out user BUT the sheer massive power of the all consuming HUNGER.
>>
>>27530312
Viruses were never Richards specialty.
MUCH LESS failsafes, how many times has the guy had to deal with his inventions going awry?

It's a blessing we gave him a base far away.
>>
>>27530306
now we investigate how she was able to change the direction of the flow and hijack it like that, then we research counter-measures and improvements, take what we learned and try to emulate this ability to use on the monsters of the swamp, And use the parasites on the other denizens of the swamp that isn't part of SWHs hivemind.
We've learned from this, and we are stronger for it.
>>
Rolled 55

>>27530227

Told you so, at least we didn't roll a 1 so we didn't die

First of all, Richard doesn't know shit about psionics. So when he thought he was designing a 1-way communicator he wasn't necessarily.

Also though psionic acuity is psionic acuity and so an immensely powerful psionic being can repurpose it nearly at will. She doesn't need a special access point, She's an Old-World experiment gone awry on how to make THE MOST POWERFUL PSYCHIC THING. She did use our tie to the parasites to get a toehold though.

The failsafes on the parasite didn't work, Richard or Clora designed a killswitch on the hive-mind so there'd be nothing to attack.

Top lel for us continuing in stride guys. At least this time we recovered slightly more gracefully
>>
>>27530342

Well, she had <x> many <millions, hundreds of thousands, etc.> of zombies as conduits. And as EDE said, the reason SWH was able to break through was due to the sheer number of zombies, she no longer has that number now does she? We can also improve our psionic potential etc. there is no need for this to be a failed project by a long shot.

So far? no. it hasn't been cost effective. but the potential is so vast. and not just the zombies. humans and other mutants as well, imagine a human army, suddenly a lot of them stop with pained expressions, approaching their friends ´who do the same, until most of the army is under the sway of the hivemind.

Let's ask the Ghouls what they have left, tell them we'll give them whatever aid/shelter they need. (Ask them if they'll present a united face with us in front of the bandits, let's negotiate some terms with them)

As for the bandits, ask them if they seriously want to fuck with not just crazy as fuck mutants, but crazy as fuck ghouls too, and working together. Tell them that we'll get into specifics at a later date next thread, that is. When will that be, by the way?

We don't even know what she does have, sitting in the remains of one of the most advanced psionics research labs of the Old World. She certainly hasn't played any of her real cards yet. In fact, now that the zombies gone most of the violence that was keeping whatever was in the tunnels IN THE TUNNELS will be gone! This has ALL been in her favor, we're playing right into the BBEG's hands.

Still hostile to the Bandits eh?
Their in a tight spot too, having been ravaged by hillbillies and zombies.

Besides, that could easily go both ways. What if it's bandits and ghouls against us? Or the Bandits want to make it good with us against the Ghouls?

but the ghouls would make the perfect addition to our forces: we need more numbers, they have numbers, we leave lots of corpeses behind, they get stronger with corpses, they just showed that they think we are doing things right (at least a little bit) incorperating them might be just what we need to earn our first border
>>
>>27530710
They also didn't start the Battle of 4 Armies.
Or cause over half the calamities to ever befall this swamp.
>>
>>27530728
All of this is also true of the Bandits.
We incorporate bandits and ghouls all the time. It all depends on whose willing to take the stick or the carrot.

I would be very pleased if we manage to get all the bases within our planned border to cooperate with us with the least bloodshed. In a far later time of course.
>>
Rolled 85

>>27530683

Alright, well consensus seems to be:

Us and the ghouls (traditionally closer to each other than us and the bandits): We'll offer them aid/shelter in the amounts we can supply (including keeping our military assets that are out there there to assist with recovery/cleansweeping efforts), we request that they present a united face with us to the bandits.

Present the following deal to the ghouls, then tell us their reaction and we'll see about the bandits.

Necessities of the pact:

Peace between all members of the pact (the first to break this will be warred upon by all other members)

Disputes between members will be raised in meeting with all members before any martial action is taken

Neutrality to each other

Trade caravans under the protection of one of the members are under the protection of all of the members

Designated people (diplomats) may transfer through all borders w/ appropriate protection being granted by the owning party if it's requested

If any member gets into a war it is their war. They may bring it up to the other members and attempt to get them involved, but each member maintains their own sovereignty.
>>
>>27530728
well, don't we want the corpses for fleshbeasts etc?. But yes. we should get everyone to join up for operation market garden.

just food for thought, how about changing the parasite to instead of allowing hivemind Communication instead BLOCK all hivemind Communication, and thereby hopefully robbing SWH of most of her forces, and by the nature of blocking Communication they will not be albe to be changed in the same way. it doesn't solve everything, but it's a step on the way. If we analyze this and work more on it we might find ways to block the SWH hivemind but not ours.
>>

>>27530736

Point.
>>
>>27530827
Crystals would be better for that.

"we need no shelter we got many fellow ghouls who will accept us among their number.

Bandits

"Hah we survived this swamp thrive even despite the radiation, disease, monsters, and worse. Despite the dangers there are just too goddamn many ways to make a killing as long as you are bad ass enough. Which we all are. Nor how many times you will crush us we will just keep coming back like balga roach. We neither truly die or give up."
>>
>>27530826
This sounds good.
Also tell them that we might be able to incorporate them into the hivemind if they would feel like it. It will not be forced, and we do not expect them to accept it en masse or at once, but it is avaible for those that wish it. (through the parasite)
>>
Rolled 65

>>27530858
Parasite only effects zombies user.
>>
Rolled 90

>>27530827

The deal is that the parasite has a brain that hacks into the host's brain and subjugates it. It has direct access so this is a trivial task to the parasite.

However, the parasite's brain is very simple (it could direct people to follow thehivemind's orders in a very dull and zombie like fashion) as opposed to the one it took over, so SWH uses it to bypass having to disarm all the complex sentiency-locks that the host would normally have.
>>

Heh, we're all roaches of this swamp. Living the fallout, etching a living.
But it doesn't mean we can't live comfortably with one another. We don't have to live the roach motel.
There are resources out there that don't have to involve us ripping at each other necks, but rather the three of us opposing all who stand against us and taking greater loot and glory than any one of us could possibly do alone.

hmm, fair enough. no parasiting SWH creatures untill we've learned more. But I see a way to avoid her influencing them I will take it ^^ but for non-SWH creatures the benefits remain.

hmm, SWH mainly uses psionics right? do we know if psionics interfere with eachother? we migth want to mutate a species that are simply out of Control psionics that disrupt any psionical attempts near them by randomly influencing it in unpredictable ways.

Spying is not how you win diplomacy.
We can always offer them as complimentary comfort women, acting as eyes and ears while their mouths and hands are occupied.

But I doubt that'll slip past the elites.
>>
Rolled 63

>>27530933

The only conceivable way we have of jamming psionics would be to make multiple, higher powered versions of our Psionic-Deterrence Field and strew them underground through the entire swamp. That would probably through up enough strong static for SWH to not be able to influence much on the surface.

That would also be when hordes of Controllers from STALKER come storming up from below and repurpose our PsyFields and we become The Red Forest.
>>
>>27530934

>>
>>27531000
we don't need to block it. we just need to.. scramble it. adding random letters and numbers into the psionic orders SWH is sending so to say, her full message would come through, but the extra random information added into it would make it pointless and mean nothing.
