Flash lets out a noise of understanding before clearing his throat. “Well, I need to get back to my normal schedule. I’m trying to do some regimens every morning you see. Later, Parker, Miss Watson!”

He runs off as you hear Mary Jane let out a sigh of relief. Looking back at her, it seems she has a bandage wrapped around her hand. “Is your hand alright?”

Mary Jane’s hand retracts into her sleeve like she was bitten as she looks anywhere but you. “..eah, fne…”

Seems like she’s not wanting to talk about it, but if it was a problem Aunt May would have mentioned it, considering she was at Anna Watson’s yesterday. When you arrive at school, you see a familiar figure standing out front looking around. When she sees you, she waves calling out.

“There you are, Peter!”

Standing there in a short skirt with a coat over it is Felicia Hardy grinning and waving at you.

You blink, lift up your glasses, and look again. Yeah, she’s standing there, grinning wider as she approaches you, bouncing on the balls of her feet excitedly before pausing, a devious look in her eyes as your spider sense slightly tingles, almost unnoticeable next to the haywire storm that is Mary Jane.

Also who's up for having MJ pass Gwen a sealed letter that simply says "Tingle?".

There's got to be a better way to do this, but we need to check it out.

So what's the explanation for why Peter knows Felicia? The real one is off the table for public use, after all. So who is she? Just someone he knows? Felix's sister that he met while over at their house for tutoring? Felix himself, having finally come out of the closet as being transgendered? See, this is why you need to tell us before you pull things like this, Felicia. The surprise is pleasant, but now we don't know the back story required for this interaction.
>>
>>27590220
She's Felix's twin sister that's been home schooled to spend time with him but after becoming interested in Peter decided to try regular school.

I really don't want to think it's Harry. But he does seem like the most likely suspect. Access to Oscorp's labs, money to pay the callers into harassing Gwen for him, weird tension over how Peter and Gwen were hanging out... It all fits. And he wasn't there in class with us when the Hobgoblin attacked. It could very easily be him. Throw in the doubts over whether he ever truly considered us a friend or was just a plant for Osborn and Pete should at least be a little suspicious.

Because she was probably threatened by the stalker.

I mean she's apparently under surveillance, and is still being harassed by phone.

Plus we never exchanged email addresses.
>>
>>27590413
again she could had been threaten with her fathers life, our aunt/uncles life, the schools life, or even ours and told to stay away.(its not like it isn't a common trope)
>>
>>27590370
Hey, she dry humped us. She's the one who works fast, not us. Probably it's because she's just excited to have someone to share the secret aspects of her life with. She lives alone, she must have a strong longing for company. Add to it that said confidante is her equal in physical skill (even if being half-spider is cheating), appreciates her, and is pretty cute and it makes sense that she'd be so excited about the possibility of a relationship.
>>
>>27590429
Still, she didn't even try? She didn't say yes or no to our confession.

>>27590444
Equal? Hah. She be more skill but physically? We broke all human limits.
>>
>>27590441
We still got bomb, and still at risk. So i don't think our life could be at anymore risk. Hobogoblin can kill peter aunt and uncle at anytime.
>>
>>27590453
Pretty sure Peter isn't fully aware of his potential strength yet.
>>
>>27590444
Just because shes lonely doesn't excuse the slutty behavior fortunately it never crossed the creepy lines.
>>27590453
I just assumed she was embarrassed and was to afraid to act.
>>
>>27590463
Well, the best i can think of is that attack was a reminder of what could happen.
>>
>>27590429
It's kind of worrying that she hasn't gone to her father with this, though. Her dad's a police captain. There's nothing he can do about it? I mean, I can see why she'd be too scared to do so after the stalker sends a fucking supervillain to kill Peter for sticking his nose in. But until that point it was just a regular stalker, as far as she knew. What did he say that so convinced her of his capabilities to carry out his threats that she couldn't go to the police for help, especially when said police live in the same house as her?
>>
>>27590453
She didn't try probably because we couldn't.

I mean our failure to find a workaround instead of expecting her to do it was /tg/ being sucky.
>>
>>27590505
She probably was too proud and didn't want to ask daddy for help.
>>
>>27590394
>>27590293

You're right... things might very well be getting more and more interesting.
Hell we may have invented our own endboss. Peter would have a DAMN hard time dealing with Alice in any capacity.
>>
>>27590531
Or the guy who was able to bomb a school and get away with it just said "You say anything, and I'll kill daddy."
>>
>>27590555
He was asking why she didn't come to her father before.

>[x]Stand your ground and take whatever she’s got planned

You stare her in the eyes, but don’t move. You hold your ground as you face her down. In the back of your mind, a tumbleweed passes by with that old wild west theme. Felicia smirks before tensing, falling back onto her heels before pouncing at you in a tackle-hug.

You’re more than strong enough to hold up to her assault and stay standing as she wraps her arms around you. You hear a gasp behind you as Felicia tightens her hug. You glance backwards as best you can to see Mary Jane staring in shock at you- a look of disbelief on her face.

“…wwhhaaa!”

It’s the loudest exclamation you’ve heard from her yet as she stares at you like you’re made from non-Euclidean geometry. Felicia lets go, staring at Mary Jane curiously before cocking an eyebrow and glancing at you, gesturing at your neighbor with her thumb.

“Who’s she?”

When you take into account that in this timeline that Gwen has spider powers as well as Peter showing just what can be done with them costume and PR wise, she really should be more than just a damsel in distress waiting for Peter to deal with the problem. Being the daughter of a police officer, she should atleast have enough points in investigation to make progress at identifying her stalker.
>>
>>27590444
Don't forget that Peter has showed off his Big Brain for her. She's a lady of refined taste and while she may continue to steal to support herself, only a blind woman would miss Parker's potential earning potential once he gets a respectable lab to work with. The owners of the Johnson and Johnson chemical company would murder each other if it meant their lab jockies got results like Peter does when he puts his mind to it.

>>
>>27590847
It's completely true though. It's not insulting, bu it lets Mary Jane know exactly where she stands in our eyes. If she's the least bit human, she'll take the hint and use this as an opportunity to apologise to us (something she's never done). If not, it makes it easy for us to dismiss her by letting her onow that we've gotten 'the best revenge'. We're living a better life without her in it.

She already knows that.

Given that you know her mom is dead, her dad is abusive, and she has more or less completely stopped caring about taking care of herself, or making friends, and almost got raped like a week ago.
>>
>>27590902
Way to blunt to be using in an introduction to our girlfriend. Seems more like something you'd want to say in private with the person if you don't want to be a complete jerk about it now that you have a little self-confidence
>>
>>27590892
Yes but flash apologized. MJ has not, and still regsrds us with contempt if the 'arranged not-date' May set up is any indication. If MJ takes this opportunity to grow up and extend an olive branch, I'd suggest we take it. But she needs to show real contrition like Flash did.

That could be interesting....though once it comes out that Hobby isn't a suspect in an FBI serial investigation, we gotta get in that.

Dude.
Priorities.
>>
>>27590986
You'd think that they'd be too depressed to kill serially.
>>
>>27590929
That wasn't her showing us contempt. That was her really not wanting to go on a date set up by her aunt. You know, just like us. She got frustrated and wandered off, but I think that was more because of her general anti-social nature than any particular antipathy for Peter. All her other interactions with us have been, well, not friendly, but certainly not antagonistic. She honestly seems like she's trying to be nice and agreeable, it's just that this is the best she can do. Her not apologizing for something that was over a decade ago is not a big deal, given that she can barely talk.
>>
>>27590929
Her mother is dead, her father was an abusive prick who abandoned them both, and she's become such a recluse that she's a redheaded Tomoko.

How about you learn a thing or two about context and politeness? You say this, I guarantee MJ will just run home crying.
>>
>>27591033
At least the former speaks full sentences to us. We've barely gotten two words out of EmoJ.

>[ ]…Haaaave you met Mary Jane?

A grin crosses your face as you wrap your arm around Felicia’s shoulder and gesture at your old… acquaintance with the other as you raise your voice a little. “…..Haaaave you met Mary Jane?”

Felicia stares at you, long and hard. “You are not bro-zoning me are you? Because I am not okay with that, nor am I into girls.”

She then turns to Mary Jane and gives her a smile. “Hey there, I’m Felicia Hardy. Pleased to meet you!”

Mary Jane’s pupils contract as she tries to give a smile. “…..”

After a few seconds, Mary Jane pantomimes looking at a watch before running off into the school. Felicia looks at you, slightly disturbed. “Was it something I said? She didn’t even have a watch on.”

You can only shake your head as you glance at your actual watch. Funnily enough, you should be heading in if you want to reach class in time.

“Um, Felicia, so what’s your story, so I have it straight?”

She grins. “I’m Felicia Hardy, Felix Hardy’ fraternal twin. When the ruckus happened at school, Felix’s health deteriorated so as a cost saving measure while he was sent to a hospital in California that can better deal with him, I was pulled out of my all-girls private school and sent here. I met you while you were seeing Felix before he left and we hit it off.”

“It isn’t too far off the mark, so it wasn’t hard to make records appear. Anyway, see you later, there‘s stuff I have to take care of.”

Her voice is quiet as the two of you walk into the school and head your respective ways. You stop by your locker and open it to grab your books, but they‘re out of their normal order, oddly. You glance at your watch to see you have about five minutes until Chemistry.

Well, when you're depressed it's natural to seek comfort in favored pastimes. It doesn't really work, but that just leads them to try even harder. We have the spider tracers, which somehow transmit on the same wavelength as the spider sense. Well, I think they do. Some of the comics have stated that it's actually just Peter's latent ability to understand the language of spiders, and that's what it's communicating on. Which really just raises more questions of how he built the tracers, but I'm getting off topic. The point is, it should take all of about five minutes to rewire one to transmit Morse. We could do it during the lunch break, even.

Or we could have felicia hide a camera near the school phone. If the stalker uses the same method to harass gwen then we can catch him dropping off the money

Well she's apparently being super stalked by some kind of hacking genius, if the cameras around her place are anything to go off of. So she might be too afraid of revealing herself to Oscorp and/or her stalker knows because he did more than bug her locker.

As for powers it could be that her spider sense is overstimulated due to the above and it will never develop as ours has (and possibly will in the future).

We need a solid plan. No time like the present and all that.

We go to class and read those books. When gym class rolls around, we talk to the coach about borrowing any Kinesiology textbooks he may have, preferably college level stuff. Make a point of asking Flash, publicly, where the best gym to go swimming is. He's a jock, he'll know. Catch up with Harry at lunch time. See what he thinks of our new girlfriend. Use library computers to search for good, minimally commercial martial arts studios that focus on the harder self-defense arts. After school we spider-sneak ou way in and drop a letter in Gwen's locker, asking her to text our unlisted number. Sign it with a spiderweb.

Peter,
Not to alarm you, but how much do you know about cloning?

-Peter.
>>
>>27591512
Okay, when you have constant stimuli to your nerves they become less sensitive (it's why you don't feel the air around you until it becomes notable in some manner. Spiders tend to detect things through vibrations in their webs, so when you put the two in the same logical space, you have the potential for the sense to start scaling back in it's sensitivity to stop detecting something that's constantly stimulating it. So Gwen who's essentially under the Hobgoblin's thumb as it were, is constantly having her spider sense going off until she becomes normalized to the stimuli. We'll know if this is the case after we put the Hobgoblin in jail and Gwen remarks on her spider sense being "too quiet"
>>
>>27591610
I'm still pretty sure the Hobgoblin is a hired gun, not the stalker himself.

couple of theories on why MJ sets of our spider-sense

2. she's a yandere that's crushing on us.
3. she's a reporter.
>>
>>27591558
It should be. If Spider is going to hunt the Hobgoblin, he at least needs to know more about punching than how to take one. Peter never fought back, never fought at all, so taking on a trained fighter with roughly equal powers is a quick root to a shallow grave.

>>27591569

Assassins don't tend to take jobs that require them to rob a third party for the assault. And since everything went missing before the attempt, it's more logical to assume someone tech savvy enough to break into Oscorp and frame Black Cat is also the guy that was watching us through the cameras.

Why would he? I mean think about it; put yourself in his shoes. You are constantly harassing this girl you like from dating other boys, then some guy who breaks all her other patterns (in that she doesn't immediately break off contact with him as Gwen herself implied she does) confesses to like her and they've been "off the grid" together for long periods of time?

When you go to kill this fucker moving in on your girl, are you going to pay any attention to her? Because this is why I think Hobgoblin is Gwen's stalker, the timing of occurrences between us confessing and Gwen breaking off contact, and then between the break in at Oscorp and then the attack on us are to close together for this guy to take out a hit on us. Especially since this is New York *AND WE TOOK UP JOGGING AFTER THE BITE*, an Assassin could have trivially shot us between school and home and nobody could have flown out of the country in less than an hour.

>>
>>27591964
But he threw a high-yield grenade at someone who was like less than ten feet from Gwen.

That doesn't make sense at all, since she would have certainly died had we not threw the pumpkin bomb out the window.
>>
>>27592028
So this means that the stalker and the goblin are only related slightly or the goblin didn't know she was there.
>>
>>27592028
Or it can just landed on our desk by chance.
>>
>>27591964
I can see where you would think that. Because our actions did cause the hobgoblin debacle.
But think about it like a detective for a second.
Somone obsessed enough to stalk amd harass gwen isn't going to kill her as a random casualty. That has no meaning.
Hobs was aimed at peter parker because peter parker was the problem.
However the stalker chose someone with a hollywood action movie sensebof assasination.
Which is why he didn't ust blow up our house.
He wanted it to be public.
He wanted to be awesome.
The stalker would have killed us at home where gwen was in no danger, then arranged something more personal for her.
>>
>>27592028
And? Based on the evidence we have, Gwen's stalker is very single minded. I mean considering the effort it would take to run just the racket around Gwen would be more than most non-deranged people would go. If he was the kind of guy to concern himself with people around the focus of his attention, he might have been able to arrange to kidnap her well before now.

I mean it's a valid point, but until we meet the stalker in person we have next to nothing about who he is.
>>
>>27592053
Not a very good stalker then!
>>
I still think we should've done more research on the methods the stalker is using. Like, go jogging around her neighborhood to see exactly where the monitored area is. Map it out using our spider-sense, that sort of thing. Then maybe have Felicia go in to try and see where the hidden cameras are exactly since she's probably an expert at spotting and disabling them.
>>
>[ ]Investigate books
>DC16, result 18, success!

You glance over the books, trying to see if there was any method to the rearrangement, but there doesn’t seem to be any you can notice. You flip through the books looking for anything and you almost miss it, but it seems like two pages have been taped together in one of your books- your chemistry book- and seem slightly thicker than two pages should be. Carefully removing the tape, you open them to see a small piece of paper with a familiar handwriting on it. With little effort, you realize that the two pages taped are pages for the chapter you’re currently in at chemistry.

The handwriting, you’re pretty sure you recognize the methodical, printed script as that of Gwen’s handwriting. There’s a message on the note with today’s date.

-Roof, Lunch.

And that’s all on it. You quickly head to class and sit down in your seat. A few moments later, instead of Mister Lee, there’s someone else there. The man looks rather unremarkable and unenthused, his short brown hair barely combed and is beginning to look messy.

He yawns.

“Greetings. I’m Herman Shultz, your new substitute chemistry teacher. Mister Lee, following the events of last week has decided to take a leave of absence and I will be filling in for him. First of all, let me announce the student Felix Hardy has been withdrawn and we have a late entry, who is apparently his sister.”

His voice is droning and uninspired as Felicia is gestured in and sat in Felix’s old spot. The teacher quickly picks up the lesson, but his droning, unenthused voice is almost enough to make YOU fall asleep. When the class finally ends, he takes a long look at the clock. “Now, remember to read the next chapter, there might be a pop quiz on Monday.”

You don’t have time to stay, as his slow talking has put you over the end of class and everyone rushes to not be late to their next one. Eventually, it’s time for lunch.

Not someone who's normal no. But a deranged psychopath Gwen was nice to once, and he fixates on her as a result? I can see the dude being so high on his murder boner that he doesn't consider the blast radius of his weapon. Hell, he might not have even tested the grenades and just assumed they were going to read his mind or something and do exactly what he wanted them to do at the time. Because blowing us up so close to Gwen, that's going to fucking traumatize her. Couple that with the messages that it's her fault, that /she/ got Peter killed, and maybe he comforts her in his "real" identity (a fellow student most likely)

Roof for lunch, we need to touch base with Gwen.

So, whose for starting a shell company with Felicia's help to patent some of our ideas/designs/work.

Think of the fun.

Also, let's modify and make our own Arc Reactor with the plans we have, augmented with a web like coolant rod design pattern to make it our own and justify the patent as a specialized "energy matrix" or channel.

To whom it may concern within the administration of Midtown Highschool,

I understand Mr. Lee's desire for a leave of absence after last week's excitement...but I must protest to Mr. Schultz as the interim replacement. I live for science. I love science. I desire to use science to change the world and find a new cultural or technological singularity. Even with a full night's sleep, and a burning desire to get back to my academic passions, I almost fell asleep in class.

Never have I been so un-engaged in the subject. Never have I encountered an educator so...incapable of inspiring, even with a student who cares about the work.

So...take that as you will.

It's because they were autistic enough to think that the silence was from Gwen rejecting us.

We didn't. We called repeatedly, we tried to talk with her, and after a week of her ignoring us we met someone else and decided to explore that relationship. It's not good, but it's not bad either.
>>
>>27592180
I'm still not convinced that the goblin and stalker are connected. I think there's a good chance that someone at oscorp (smythe?) arranged for the prototype weapons to be stolen and used to kill Parker, probably because whomever arranged it knows at least a little about Peter. Maybe Osborn decided to finally wrap up the last Parker loose end while showing off how deadly his tous are to prospective clients. Maybe Smythe or someone else decided to kill peter to hide the effects of the spiders. Maybe someone in the weapons project got tired of their budget being slashed to fund 'dead end super soldier research' and tried to prove how effective their project was by cleaning up the Spider project's 'mistake'.

We still have very little to go on and we shouldn't jump to conclusions.

You look around to find Felicia and see her waiting outside the cafeteria for you. As you approach, she smiles. “Hey, want to grab lunch together?”

You shake your head and show her the note. “I might be finding out more on the situation from Gwen.”

She bites her lip, looking displeased before eventually nodding her head. “Alright, be careful.”

You head off and manage to find your way outside, out of view of anyone. Which, considering the higher security there is here- which is to say there IS security here. Looking around to make sure nobody sees you, you stay out of the range of any cameras and climb to the roof, where you see Gwen sitting there.

When you approach her, she looks up and tries to give you a smile, but instead ends up giving you a depressed look. “Hey… been a while, huh?”

>Write in- Who is it, how bad is it, can I help?

You give Gwen a neutral look. “…Yeah, I guess you could say that.”

She winces, looking away. “I probably deserve that, all things considered.”

You sit down next to her. “Look, I probably screwed things up and made it worse for you, but I tried my best to help you. But, you wouldn’t respond, despite the fact that you know you can trust me. But, with everything that’s happened, I need to know who this guy is and what I’m dealing with, and how I can help you out.”

Gwen remains silent for little while before speaking. “Look, it began as a bunch of notes. Some of them were flattering or poetry but I always threw them out. Eventually, they became more biting and they grew worse whenever I showed interest in a guy. So, that’s all it was I thought. Then the cameras came in after the Black Cat incident and I’ve wanted to tell you, or my dad, but that STUPID sense would act like it’s boring into my head whenever I tried, so I always didn’t do anything!”

She freezes, her voice cracking as she takes a moment to compose herself. “And the more and more things went on, the worse it would get, so I tried to not talk to you because that sense would bore into my head anytime I did. Ever since I went home from your house that one night, it seems to have been getting worse and worse. And now, after that scene on the TV, I realized how bad I screwed up by not doing anything- If I’d said something, maybe those people-”

She cuts off, drawing up her knees and wrapping her arms around them, hiding her face. When she speaks again, her voice is quiet, hoarse and full of fury.

“When I find whoever is behind this, I’m going to make sure they won’t be able to hurt anyone ever again.”

And the stress of Gwen's situation may have caused her spider-sense to go into overdrive.

>[] Try to calm her down.

Bugger I'm too tired to write real dialogue. After we calm her down we need to get her to agree not to,go after this guy alone - he hired a freaking super powered assassin and has money to burn besides. She needs back up, us or the cops but we're probably better suited to help. Next we need to compare notes, mention that Flash took care of the football players leaving her voice mails and that her stalker was paying them. Paying them well in fact. Then see what other clues she can bring to the table on this.

Finally, we do need to mention that we met someone else while she was sidelining us. Whatever side of the debate you fall on you have to admit that honesty with Gwen is probably the best policy here.

You feel her shoulder shaking beneath your hand. Her arms loosen from around her legs as she slowly lowers them back down.

“Don't worry though. I'm going to catch that monster. I won’t let either of them hurt anyone else.”

Her arms wrap around you as she sobs into your chest, gripping you in a crushing hug.

I'm not really sure how to explain it, but there's a way you hug close friends when they've been pushed so far beyond their breaking point that you see the moment everything hits them right in front of you. It isn't romantic, but it is intimate because it incorporates feelings of support, and sympathy while also trying to physically demonstrate that you're there for them and that you aren't going anywhere...

Hopefully you know what I mean since what I'm talking about kind of ends up tailored to each friend and their mental state. Also, not something I consciously think about often.

Because if Gwen does kiss us, we can let her down without revealing the relationship. This isn't Mass Effect. The only way Gwen learns about the relationship between us and Felicia are:
1: We mention it (which will be an option Cosgrove will give us if you are right)
2: Felicia mentions it.

That's it. So given that we will have full control of the former, the only logical reason to be concerned is the second.

>>27594566
MJ's a wild card, getting blackmailed in this is really easy to defeat: Step one: Explain to Felicia Gwen kissed us. Step Two: Explain to Gwen (later, when she's not so emotional), about the relationship between us and Felicia. Not a concern.

Nothing says "I like you, but not romantically" like one of those.

>[ ]Pat her on the back gently but not intimately

You gently pat her on the back, making sure to not make it too intimate, until her sobs finally dry up. She pulls back, eyes red and puffy and nose running as she wipes at her eyes with her sleeves.

“Thanks, Peter.”

You give her a nod. “No problem, what are friends for?”

Gwen remains sitting there. You can hear the lunch bell ringing. It’d probably be best to get back to class, but it seems like Gwen’s thinking about something. Your shoulder also is wet from tears and snot, so that might not be the best thing to go into class with but you think of something.

“Gwen, you should go get an unlisted disposable cell phone like I do. It’d allow us to at least keep in contact.”

Gwen glances at you before nodding and standing up.”

“I’ve got something I need to do, Peter. I’ll see you later.”

She jumps off the side of the roof after looking around. You sit there for a second.

Reluctantly, you head back to class, after stopping by the restroom to clean off your shirt as best as you can. The rest of the day passes uneventfully and finally the last bell rings, letting you out of school for the day.

You put away your books and grab your backpack- you’re ready to go. Buses are boarding, and will probably take off within the next five minutes.

“Hey, Peter.”

You give her a nod. “Felicia. How was your day?”

She shrugs. “It was alright, though I did miss you at lunch. Also, Mary Jane seems to be very nervous and runs away when I talk to her. Is something the matter?”

You grimace. “She’s not great with people.”
