Hey, and we're back! Hopefully all cooled off from the events last week, so let's get back in VMQ!Archive (1 and 2): http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Valkyrian%20Mercs%20QuestPastebin: http://pastebin.com/6K5rjbC1Twitter: https://twitter.com/MercCommandDon't know what Valkyria Chronicles is? Check it out here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles or http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/Valkyria_WikiYou are LUCAS WILLIAMS, a member of the mercenary company Demons of Randgriz and a graduate from its elite TIER ONE Program. You are now part of the elite, but inexperienced WRAITH TEAM, consisting of you and your fellow classmates from training. After a grueling year of training and quick battle to get rid of some troublesome pirates harassing Gallia's northern coast, you and Wraith Team have found yourselves transferred to the exotic land of San Salvacion, an entire ocean away from Gallia. You've been brought in to help the beleaguered country suppress the rebels that oppose its rule, as well as counter any possible Erusean aggression from the South.Unfortunately, the action started much sooner than you thought it would when your base was ambushed literally almost the moment you set foot in it. While the attackers were repulsed, the attack has left you and your squad a bit shaken that presumably poorly armed and organized rebels could strike at the heart of San Salvacion's military power in the south so easily.Unfortunately, it seems the situation is getting more and more complicated as more players in this conflict begin to reveal themselves, such as Emmerian special forces, Imperial weapon smugglers, unscrupulous rival mercs, and more...(cont)
>>27685959HAHA TIME FOR MERCS
>>27685959However, now you were in caught in a situation that nothing in the Academy could train you for, and Mom had been spending your entire life trying to prepare you for, yet you find yourself distressingly at a loss at how to deal with.A relationship.Falynn, who as of yesterday, was now your girlfriend, snores softly beside you, her head laying on your shoulder. You're rather amazed she's able to sleep amid all the rocking the the Skyranger is experiencing due to the turbulence, but you suppose she really needed the rest after what she had to go through. The rest of the Wraiths seemed pretty supportive of your relationship, or at the very least they were ambivalent about it. Charlotte, Sparky, MK, and Bragg were firmly in support. Runaround and Edwin were largely indifferent. Morgan seemed to be unsure of what to think and Lucina just smiles and congratulates you. The only member of the team who seemed against it at all was Simo, though all he did was just grunt and warn you not to let your hormones compromise the mission, whatever that meant.Anyways, you and the whole team were tagging along with Hudson as he and his team were bringing the intel they gathered back to San Salvacion City. Apparently, the documents were heavily encrypted and the closest facility with the resources to crack it was the Emmerian Embassy.Menendez, in his infinite wisdom, decided this was a good chance to give Wraith Team some R&R and attached the team as an "honor guard". However, unofficially, you basically had a weekend pass in place that wasn't endless jungle for once.By your calculation, you should be landing pretty soon, but you still feel like doing something to pass the time. You could probably try asking somebody for relationship advice while Falynn is asleep, or talk to Simo, Bragg, or Hudson about the mission, or something.>Who do you talk to?>Actually, just take a nap until you land.
>>27685977>>Who do you talk to?Simo
Let's talk to Simo. Only good things can come of this.
>>27685977>>Who do you talk to?Talk to Char.
>>27685977>Talk to Edwin."Edwin what do I do?""I don't know, stop talking to me."Also, military-stuff-knowing people! Do tanks have a part that is analogous to a firing pin?
That pastebin inspired me to write something. It's only the intro paragraph because I am ADD as fuck and can't focus on writing. As he sprinted down a hallway, Lucas noticed something. For the first time in his life, he was knew true fear. Everything he had ever faced, everything he ever dreaded paled in comparison to this. Reaching the end of the hall, he turns the corner and takes shelter in one of the rooms. Quickly shutting the door, he slumps down against the wall, out of breath. He was not been running for his life. No, he was running harder than that. To be caught was a fate far worse than death. There was a predator out there, and he was the prey. Chequita was on the prowl.
>>27685977>Talk to edwinStart laying the seeds and have him start thinking about him and sparky in that light.Dohohoh.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SYUp4afd4M(0:00-2:00) Questers, there is something I have to get off my chest that has been there since last thread. I could have broken the tie, but the fool that I was, I fell asleep at my desk. It was only 2 hours later when I awoke and was greeted with the horror that I missed the vote. For the past week, I've felt the guilt of letting down the rest of the girls, being a fan of Morgan myself. However, I am not begging for tg's forgiveness nor a revote from Merc.I present myself bare to ask of all of you to have our squad get a good ending. When I slowly read through Merc's post, my heart sank further when I realized that I missed a tie breaking vote. Whether for better or worse, I dare not wish to find out.So my plea to the people of this quest, of all fandoms. Please, give them all a life worth living.(Con't)
>>27685977>Who do you talk to?Edwin. He always has good advice, or at least a good estimate on the odds of horrible death.
>>27685977Waifu the edwin
>>27686051But the tie was broken by Merc's vote.
>>27686079He is kawaii as fuck isn't he?
>>27686051I voted against Falynn. However, now that we've committed, I'm behind it 100%. I'll vote to uphold this.
>>27686103The thing is, I fell asleep like a minute before the vote.
>>27686051(2:00-4:00)>Get Lucina to be more sociable so she can interact with others easily and find love.>Take part in both helping Edwin thwart Sparky's pranks and help Sparky prank Edwin. >Get Falynn help if she needs any and treat her with love, as well as respect her for her own abilities.>Help Mary-Kate find her one true love.>Talk to Charlotte more (seriously).>Hang out with Runaround and Bragg more (don't drink).>Get Simo to stop viewing Morgan as a little sister and ask for Morgan's past (her past may bite us in the ass if we ignore it).>For Morgan, find out the truth about her past, and if possible, reconcile with her parents, get her bounty removed, or just give her a form of closure.>Finally for Lucas, don't lose that optimism. The world really needs people like him, and it would truly be a waste for him to lose it. Should Lucas succumb to rage, DON'T let him take it out on his friends and allies physically, emotionally, or sexually, etc.(Con't)
>>27686145I was there.I saw the tie, and I had not voted./tg/ looked up and screamed "Help us Anon!"And I looked down and said nah
>>27686133I didn't vote for any of them. I thought it'd be nice to have this quest without relationships and stuff. But it's pointless on tg
>>27686145You think that's bad? I just caught up with the quest after falling behind after the first third of the first quest.Shit, I'm just glad Ol' Jager didn't get iced somewhere along the line because we couldn't herd enough cats to get something done. The vicious arguments caused my hiatus, after all. Well, and the fact that I was usually the one causing the vicious arguments.Think of all the votes I missed, ha ha.
>>27685977"Edwin!" You whisper loudly, trying to catch his attention. "Edwin! Hey!""What do you want? Edwin sighs. And I hope it's not relationship advice because I'm not giving you any.">Ummm, I'm totally asking for relationship advice.>Ask him something else.
>>27685977>Actually, just take a nap until you land.Sleep is god, we must worship.
>>27686161Finally, as a final act of catharsis to get rid of all of my guilt, I have one last message for my waifu...no...my daughteru that I may have had an influence on:http://pastebin.com/L8VqXMDp
>>27686206>>Ummm, I'm totally asking for relationship advice.
>>27686183This is Valk Mercs Quest! There was literally waifuing from the first thread, where do you think you are!Hell, Jager's backstory in the first quest had a literal built in waifu. Not the one we ended up going with, to my inner rage, but it was there, nonetheless.
>>27686051So did I, honesty i wish this decision ended in a cliffhanger and we would have voted fresh in the next weekend.I still have problems with this but if we have to go down this route....I grudgingly will follow
>>27686206>Ask him something else.I suggest staring awkwardly, because we really did want the relationship advice.
>>27686237Maybe Falynn will grow on us once we get to know her more.
>>27686206>Ummm, I'm totally asking for relationship advice."You understand, uh, girls, right? I mean, you and Sparky..."
>>27686206/puppy dog eyes"Help me Edwin Hohenzollern, you are my only hope."
>>27686206>Ask him something elseUm.... So how are things with Sparky? Did she blow you again?
>>27686206"It's that or ask you about sparky. Choose your poison."
>>27686273... that's a typo right?If it's not, bravo!
>>27686292You'll never know...
>>27686257She did but honestly out of all the characters in VMQ2, Out of the female characters she was my least favorite and I guess it kind of irked me that she pulled a Sam (near death experience then confesses) though it was a bit natural. I really wished that we didn't say yes to the first girl that confessed to us especially how it ended up,
>>27686206Edwin, Edwin please, remember who you're talking to.Love is a battlefield, and you're #1 at tactical assessments.
>mfw we have a waifu so early in the questthis can only end badly
>>27686318Now that you think about it, who had the first girl title in the quest? I'm not sure if it's Morgan or Lucina.
>>27686337Lucina, IIRC she was literally the first person we interacted with.
>>27686326Merc doesn't really roll with high kill counts, man. I wouldn't worry. Well, not too much. For example, I was 100% certain Karla was doomed from thread one and yet she lived and generations of her line continue.
>>27686337Luciana was the first we saw.
>>27686337Between Lucina or Char. Faylnn was the underdog and due to momentum of both her development and the quest to trigger all the flags, she pulled ahead
>>27686353>>27686355But does childhood friend also count as first girl?
>>27686354what's the point of playing if we have no risk of losing anyone or getting a GAME OVER ourselves?
>>27686373yes it does, thus the struggle between karla and sam back in Vqm. I accepted that since the relationship progressed this way.
>>27686373Yesss....Unless the first girl we played with as kids were the twins. At whixh point they become first girls.
>>27686399If that was the case, we would have lost Faylnn during her side quest (Should have voted for edwin if it was goign to turn out like this)
Now that you think about it, how old was everyone when they met for the first time?
>>27686432I imagine they hung around each other fairly young. after all it seems everyone was an instructor living in the Castle or near it's grounds
>>27686399Waifus apparently.More seriously, I always played VMQ because I found Merc's writing charming and enjoyed the community. The action and planning are just a bonus.Frankly, having QM'ed before, I know you don't want to be too tough on people. They should think you are always willing to kill people off, but you should very rarely have to go through with it. Though to be honest, I was too much of a coward to ever go through with it myself.
>>27686443Sorry the PARENTS all seemed to be instructors
>>27686432Few months, Or even younger.
Daily reminder the Lucina bought that dress for us.
>>27686206"Um, I'm totally asking you for relationship advice." You say glumly."Okay, I'm going to the other side of the plane now." Edwin sighs as he begins to stand up."Wait! Edwin, you're my only hope!" You beg."Not listening.""Okay Edwin, I didn't want to do this." You turn the other way. "Hey Sparky! I think Edwin wants to talk to you about something!""Huh? Like what?" Sparky turns from that little mystery conversation she was having with Charlotte and MK. God knows what they were discussing..."Nothing! He just misheard!" Edwin laughs awkwardly and plants his butt back down on the seat."Okay, fine! But what makes you think I know any more about girls than you do?!" Edwin hisses."Well, I sorta figured you'd know something, considering you're a freaking genius, and all that time you spend with Sparky...""It's only because we're fellow lancers." Edwin scowls and smacks you on the back of head. "This is honestly the best I can do for you."Edwin then hands you a book and glance at it.RELATIONSHIPS FOR DUMMIESHuh, so you guess that was a thing. But wait a minute..."Edwin, why would you have a book like this on you?" You ask."No reason." Edwin says just a bit too quickly."Alright boys and girls, we are on approach to our destination. Sit yer asses down and buckle up because it's gonna be a rough landing!" You hear Barfbag announce."Mmmmmm." Falynn groans as she starts waking up. "Mrning Lucas... what's that you're holding?">Tell her about the book.>Hide the book. You might need it later.>Toss it out the door. You'll just wing it.>Other
>>27686432They probably don't even remember, they were so young.
>>27686467And one day she'll find the right guy or gal to show it off to.
>>27686458so you telling me a PC has NEVER died in one of your games?
>>27686473>Toss it out the door. You'll just wing it.There is no possible way this could go poorly.
>>27686473>>Tell her about the book.Haha,,,I don't relationship, trying not to screw up.
>>27686473>>OtherHow to Please a Woman in 5 Easy Steps
>>27686473>>Hide the book. You might need it later.
>>27686473>Hide the book. You might need it later."Nothing. At all."
>>27686487In the quest I ran, no.In my tabletop games, sure, but that's unavoidable when you play Dark Heresy based games. I was still softer than I should have been, and yet had my players petrified. Its a balance.
>>27686473>OtherGag gift from your sister...(we must not let the others know that edwin had it... it would hurt is considerable pride)
>>27686473>Tell her about the book
>>27686467stop making me feel bad you ass
>>27686520We could say Edwin got it for us as a 'gift'. It makes him look like kind of a dick, so no real change.
Rolled 1>>27685959So we're officially locked in the faylnn route aren't we?
>>27686542Lets not. Keep his deicing secret.
I'm torn really, on one hand I wanted Flaynn to win, but on the other I feel like we are to early in this quest to start waifuing.
>>27686473>Hide the book. You might need it later.
Rolled 14>>27685959We're locked in the Fallon route?
>>27686567Well IMO, I guess we need to develop this relationship to figure how far we can go.
>>27686473>Tell her about the book."umm...I didn't want to mess this up, so I asked Edwin for help"
>>27686567Start?My friend, it already started in the very first thread.
Seriously, I need to know if there's a part that can be removed from a tank to keep it from shooting.
>>27686575Well, Merc has talked about the possibility of ending the relationship.
>>27686601but that's the thing I don't think we are even ready to start developing a relationship yet.
>>27686614The barrel. But you're probably looking for a firing pin.
>>27686567On the bright side, it does kind of put a lid on the waifu wars that defined the side discussion of the first quest.Personally, it's a tertiary concern for me, I'm just here for the ride. Or at least until I get shouted out again.
>>27686618And that is where all the bullshit starts. With a fucking vengeance if it does happen.I voted no I'd vote no on this.
>>27686625A bitter part of me thinks, that some people voted yes just for that
>>27686618I hope he never gives us the optionthere will be an absolutely retarded amount of shitposting
>>27686646how did you know
>>27686640Yeah, second guessing shit like that will just lead to an endless shitstorm. I think we've had enough of those. Its not an ideal situation, I agree, but I suggest we trust Merc to make the best of it.
>>27686614take the firing pin block our of the main guns breech block and you can't fire the main gunbut getting that firing pin block out is fucking hard, requires full disasembly of the main gun breech and mount, usually means the turret comes off the hull, and the gun/mount/breech are removed from the turret.or you could try throwing rocks down its barrel and wait for it to fire, but that hasn't worked too well for the FAS tards who tried it
>>27686618that would be a shitstorm from Flaynnfags
>>27686664agreed, Lucas behavior is getting a bit inconsistent due to this and while I really dislike how this ended unless Merc gives us a very good reason then I reluctant to agree
>>27686664> endless shitstormIt would be much worse, going back on it or flip flopping constantly and the different factions trying to metagame it would kill the quest fast.Best course of action? everyone shut the fuck up about it and get on with the quest
>>27686728Most certainly. You have the right of it.>>27686704Well, not as bad as early Jager, who veered wildly from tortured soul, to collected strategist, to muscle gentleman, to Kamina on steroids, depending on who was on, what time it was, how drunk I was, etc.
>>27686473>Holy shit I can actually post now!"Oh... it's nothing!" You laugh awkwardly as you quickly stow it in your pack, out of her sight. You don't really want to know what Falynn would think if you had to resort to a book to figure out how to act around her."Hm... okay." Falynn blinks in confusion when the plane suddenly shudders as it hits the pavement, signifying that you've landed. With that, Hudson and his team are immediately out the door and headed for the nearest vehicle. Whatever they found must've been REALLY important. You and the Wraiths, however, get out at a more leisurely pace. You help Falynn down the ladder."T-thanks." Falynn squeaks."No problem." You grin.Falynn quickly turns away."Okay, Wraiths." Simo leaps down from the door, grabbing your attention. "I've got some good news and some bad news.""Of course." Charlotte rolls her eyes."The good news is, you're pretty much free to do what you want until Hudson finishes his business here. I've already set up lodging at one of the nearby hotels." Simo passes out cards with the address of said hotel. "The bad news is, no gear, no weapons.""What?!" Pretty much everybody cries. Separating a soldier from their gear was a grave sin, especially in times of conflict."I'm sorry, orders straight from the top." Simo sighs. "The tensions with Erusea are already pretty bad, and the San Salvacion government doesn't want their people panicking. A squad of heavily armed Gallians waltzing around on the city streets isn't going to help that. Casual uniforms and sidearms only. That's an order.">Yes sir.>That's malarkey, sir.>Other
>>27686770>Yes sir.Ugh, what the Hell just happened?
>>27686770>other"Not even basic body armour?"
>>27686770>Yes sir.Because we're totally going to need guns while on leave.
>>27686801Dude this is like Mexico and Vietnam rolled into one. I'm expecting us to come under attack at least three times.
>>27686770>Yes sir.Seeing as our primary is a GPMG, shouldn't our sidearm be a subgun or some form of cutdown shotgun?
>>27686770Hudson's the spec ops guys, ask him if he has anything that fits under casual cloths and if he has any extras.
>>27686770>Accelerating posting to make up for all that lost time!"Yes sir." You sigh. There wasn't really much you could do about, was there? With that, everybody else caves in as well. For armor, the best you could bring were tactical vests, and Simo made absolutely sure you were only carrying pistols. "Concealed firearms would only make things worse." He said.Bragg, understandably, was the least happy with this arrangement, and he grumped and pouted like a spoiled child, much to Simo's consternation."You're a grown man, Bragg. Can you please try to act like one, for once?""No." Bragg says flatly. "I'm gonna noogie you SO HARD when we get back to base...""Yeah yeah." Simo shakes his head. "Also, one more thing. No drunken antics, or fights, or massive property damage, alright? We haven't saved this city from imminent doom yet, so we don't exactly have a free pass on that sort of stuff. Remember, you're representing the Demons and Gallia out there. Please please PLEASE don't make us look bad.""Yes sir!" Everybody affirms. With that, everybody seems to all go off their separate ways. Falynn tugs at your arm."Come on, I know just the place to go to!" She grins."Where are we going?" You ask."It's. A. Surprise!" >Go along with it.>Prrrrrryyy>Other
>>27686913>Go along with it.
>>27686913>>Go along with it.
>>27686913>Go along with it.Guh, I'd honestly rather see what sort of antics Edwin and Sparky get up to.
>>27686913Falynn waves down a cab, which seems to be extremely common in this city. You then remember that San Salvacion sits on the what was likely the most important waterway in the hemisphere. Of course the city was going to be a major metropolitan port.Falynn whispers the destination to the driver, who nods in recognition and immediately floors the pedal, sending both you and Falynn tumbling back into the seat. Once things stabilize, you can see Falynn staring at her right arm in concern. From the looks of it, it seemed to be tensing up involuntarily or something. Either way it seemed to make Falynn concerned."Hey Falynn, are you okay?" You ask"Y-yeah. It's nothing! You know, residual pain is a common side effect of ragnaid use!" Falynn laughs nervously. You can tell it wasn't quite so simple.>Falynn, what REALLY happened on that mission?>Let it go.>Other
>>27687053>>Falynn, what REALLY happened on that mission? It'll hafta come out sooner or later.

>>27687086This, this so much.
>>27687053>Falynn, what REALLY happened on that mission?Open with asking about her arm too, it's obviously not properly healed.
>>27687086Ugh, no, there's only so much goddamn sappy shit I can take.
>>27687107I had a bad feeling about using that ragnaid...For one thing, I think Fal might need to rebreak that arm to set it properly.
>>27687126That seems to be the case and since we don't really know what went down assuming the worst and thinking her arm is fucked up isn't unreasonable.
>>27687121Hey, we could have avoided all of this if only we had blasted her past the yandere event horizon by choosing "kill him slowly" and "the voices in my head sound like Lucas".But noooo....
>>27687155Did we really need a second Chiquita though? I mean, they seem territorial. Chiquitas I mean.
>>27687053"Falynn..."You gently hold her hand with yours and you can feel Falynn's arm loosen up at the contact. You see her sigh relief."Falynn, what REALLY happened on that mission?" You ask."H-how much did the others tell you?" She asks nervously."Only that you got hurt. They didn't give any details. I assume because you asked them not to?""Yeah..." Falynn sighs and slips her hand out of yours, and looks at it sadly. "That guy I fought, Kravchenko, was a real monster. He had so many chances to finish me off but he kept the whole thing going like it was some sick game. He just... broke my arm like a twig and-"At this point Falynn's arm starts tensing up again but Falynn manages to forcibly loosen it up again."Is it all right? Did it heal correctly?" You ask, concerned."Yeah, the doctors said it healed up just fine. The pain's mostly psychological. You know how amputees suffer from phantom pain? It's something like that." Falynn sighs. "It shouldn't a problem in combat, though. It only ever seems to crop up when there's nothing going on.""Still, I think you should get it looked at. I'm not exactly an expert on this whole thing, but I think maybe Menendez can help you. It seems like something he'd have experience with.""Yeah... I'll think about it." Falynn nods, and then blinks. "Agh, why are we talking about something so gloomy!? Did you tell your parents about us yet?""Erm, not really." You shrug. "Didn't exactly have time to really write, or anything. Why?'"Well..." Falynn shrugs. "Char already wrote it up in our letter home. She's actually off delivering it right now. I kind of didn't want to give out personal details of my life to Dad, but... Char insisted."And that is when your heart stops. All of a sudden you remember that Falynn's dad is Jager Sturmfuhrer himself, a man who made a living completely wrecking people he did not like. Falynn says. "On good whack there with a wrench and he'll be down for HOURS.""Falynn, I'm pretty sure a good wrench hit ANYWHERE would put a man down for hours. Maybe more than that." You respond dryly."Alright, we're here." The driver says, bringing the cab to a halt."O-oh! Here you go!" Falynn hands the driver his payment, as well as a few extra bills as a tip, though you note it was quite a large one. "Naw, keep it." The driver passes the extra bills back to Falynn and winks. "My personal policy not to accept tips from lovebirds!"The cab driver zooms off with a laugh, leaving the both of you standing on the sidewalk with very embarrassed looks on your faces."W-well at least he was nice." Falynn mumbles."Yeah... Anyways, where exactly did you bring me?" You wonder. A small portion of your mind always felt nervous being alone around the Twins. "My mom's too busy and Dad thinks Oseans are wussy....""Ah, an Osean cafe." You nod. You should've been able to tell from the smell."I-I did my research and everything!" Falynn says quickly. "This is apparently them most highly reviewed Osean cafe in San Salvacion!""Alright, I'll take your word for it." You laugh. "I guess you wanted to order the crepes? That's usually their best dish.""Skipping straight to dessert?""I guess I'm more like my Mom than I like to admit." You laugh. You both take a seat at one of the tables on the sidewalk and begin browsing the menus. There's quite a lot of people around, as well, but one person that stands out in particular is a man sitting alone at a table next to yours, in a very expensive looking suit and reading a newspaper with a cup of coffee. You sort of suspect there was something that set him apart from the other patrons, but your attention is drawn back to Falynn."Ummmm... Ummm.... I don't know what to order..." She squeaks."You want my suggestion, kid?" The man in the suit lowers his newspaper. "You should try the pineapple crepe. It's their bestseller.">Yeah, that sounds good.>Nah, I think you should try something else.>Other
>>27687601>Yeah, that sounds good.Pineapple are great on most things--except pizza. Then it's just weird.
>>27687601>>Yeah, that sounds good.Lucas orders something that only an excellent osean chef can make. Like going to a sushi bar and ordering ttamago. To test the skill of the chef.
>>27687584>They definitely seemed the type to kidnap you so they could have their way with you... and your fluffy hair.Yes Lucas. They'd kidnap you for your hair. Nothing else.>>27687601>Yeah, that sounds good.Don't you know to always take the advice of random strangers!
>>27687601>Yeah, that sounds good.
>>27687601>>OtherYuck, pineapple. I suggest peach.
>>27687626>Other"Oh yeah? Tell us a bit about the pineapple crepe."Kiiiinda suspicious about this dude.
>>27687644Its not a salad. Calm your tits.
Is it wrong that I'm feeling extra paranoid about that right now? Like it's a codeword for poison the meal or a drug deal or whatnot.
>>27687601NONO PINEAPPLEFUCK YOU, NOT THE PINEAPPLE>Nah, I think you should try something else.
>>27687651Yes, you should always be wary of people who suggest food in cafes. They're obviously trying to trick you into eating something terrible so they can laugh at you.
>>27687601>Nah, I think you should try something else.Recommend that one food they probably serve here and is really good.Something about this guy creeps me out. Just slightly a lot mind you. Chenkov's gun and all that.
>>27687653>Calm your tits.I... I'm sorry, I just hear 'pineapple' and all of my shadowruns go full blast.
>>27687601>Nah, I think you should try something else.pineapple is death
>>27687703Yeah, Macross ruined pineapple for me, too.
>>27687693No problem anon. Verify the type of food first.Burn the pineapple salad.eat the pineapple cake.
>>27687702>He doesn't know about pineappleThere's death flags, and then there's death klaxons.Pineapple is a death air raid siren.
>>27687724only time I can have it now is with my booze
>>27687601Huh, judging from the man's accent, he was Emmerian. You wonder, maybe he was from the Emmerian Embassy Hudson was going to? Well, whatever. You also wonder about the pineapple crepes. They were certainly unusual, but not completely unheard of. Then you remember that Lara, ever since becoming an ace had picked up a massive aversion to pineapple, which was strange since she used to love it when she was younger. When you asked her about it all she said was that "Pineapples get pilots killed." You wonder about that, but then, pilots were a superstitious bunch. Weird people, those pilots. Then again, they strap themselves to giant flammable engines that could send them plummeting to their deaths at any moment, so you guess some superstition was warranted. But Falynn wasn't a pilot. In fact, she was nowhere near being one. What would be the harm in that?"Yeah, that sounds good." You nod.So, Falynn orders a pineapple crepe and you go with a more conventional strawberry one. You don't really enjoy it as much as Falynn is, though, since well, your Mom could make one that would blow this cafe into smoking crater. Heh, maybe you should have Mom make one for Falynn. It's then that you notice a large, rectangular grey building in the distance."Hey, Falynn, what's that?" You ask, pointing at the building."Oh, that? That's the Emmerian Embassy Hudson is supposed to be going to." Falynn shrugs. "It's one of San Salvacion City's biggest landmarks, apparently. Besides the canal, of course. There's actually an entire embassy district there, with embassies from the Empire, the Federation, and even Gallia.""Huh, I didn't know that.""Mhm." Falynn nibbles on her crepe. "Hey.... do you mind if we swap crepes?">Sure why not.>No thanks.>Other
>>27687741Ok, it took me like ten minutes of intense remembrance action, but I finally remember why pineapple is bad. All is right with the world.Yes, lets avoid the pineapple.
>>27687795>Sure why not
>>27687795>Sure why not.
>>27687795>>Sure why not.Do you want deathflags? I want deathflags.
>>27687795>Sure, why not.
>>27687795>Sure why not.Oh god I've got such a bad feeling about this but I can't think of a logical reason to say no.
>>27687796Oh c'mon, it's not like Falynn's got some untreated internal bleeding that's totally gonna kill her right when she holds our hand, which also just happens to be when the crepes arrive to our table.
>>27687796Why is pineapple bad? Is it just bad luck?
>>27687843What other reason do you need besides "To protect falynn"?
>>27687851Robotech. Ace pilot Roy Fokker died from untreated gunshot wounds from an earlier dogfight just as his girlfriend was bringing him pineapple salad. Dude just slumped over dead while playing his guitar.
>>27687795>sure, why not*I-INDAHREHKTO KEESUU*>>27687850She's totally not going to ignore the seriousness of her situation and instead run home to see us so she can play the violin for us.One last time.
>>27687795"Sure, why not." You say, as you hand over strawberry crepe in exchange for Falynn's pineapple one, and you take a bite.Okay, you have to admit, their pineapple crepe was pretty damn good.>roll 1d20
Rolled 18>>27687884OH GOD
Rolled 11>>27687884It begins.
Rolled 3>>27687884Me thinks a building is about to explode.
>>27687889dodged the pineapple-shaped bullet for the moment there
>>27687905Pretty sure it just means that Falynn was the ony one to take shrapnel or a bullet here.
Rolled 9>>27687884Did somebody say critfail?
>>27687889As you chew on the the crepe, you realize that you've fallen for the classic "indirect kiss" maneuver that Mom had told you to watch out for. And here you are, completely falling for it.And that glint in Falynn's eye... she did it on PURPOSE. Oh, you had to be lot more careful around her from now on..."Hey, Lucas..." Falynn frowns, putting down the strawberry crepe. "I think something's wrong.""Huh?" You swallow a mouthful of pineapple. "Like what?"That van..." Falynn points to a white van that shuttles past at a fairly moderate speed. "I thought I was just seeing things, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that same van pass by us at least five times.""Wait, what?" You say, slowly putting your crepe down as well. "Are you sure?""Yeah. The driver's side tail light is broken and it has no plates." Falynn frowns. "It must have been circling this block all this time. There's only one thing I can think of in that situation...""It's scoping something out." You narrow your eyes. "Is it after us?""I have no idea." Falynn sighs. "It could be use, could be someone else at this cafe, it could even be something on the other side of the block."At that point, a white van rounds the corner. Both you and Falynn observe it carefully. You also acutely notice that the well dressed man next to you is also observing the van. It seems he's noticed it as well. It seemed innocent enough, until you realize that the passenger is toting an Imperial-made SMG..."EVERYBODY GET DOWN!" The man yells as he kicks the table over and waves at the both of you. "Get over here!">Listen to him.>Don't listen to him.>Other
>>27688008>>Listen to him.Howdy there Mr. Spy.
>>27688008Depends on distance. If he's close>listenIf further than 2 meters or so>kick over own table>grab Falynn>take cover and draw sidearm
>>27688008>Listen to him.I think this guy knows what's up.
>>27688008>>Listen to him.OH SHIT DAWG IT'S A DRIVE BY AND WE DON'T GOT A GAT ON US!Wonder who that man is that's apparently trying to help us?
>>27688028He's a table over. That's close enough, I'd imagine.
>>27688008>Listen to himThis guy seems to know what he's doing. And he's wearing a suit, so he must be trustworthy.
>>27688035We have a sidearm. Not enough dakka, but better than nothing.
>>27688008Draw sidearms, assist man. Join him in cover.
>>27688008>Listen to himGet Falynn over to spah, kick another table over in the process, get gun ready oh shit
>>27688008SPAH SAPPAN MUH SENTRY
We gundam seed now
In hindsight, the telltale ski mask should have tipped us off that he was a spy.Good thing he's on our side. Or is he? SPY CHECK, SPY CHECK
>>27688125And I forget my helpful diagram. HurrDurr.
>>27688144Get out of here, stal/k/er.I'm stuck here too
>>27688144The gun is still smoking so he literally JUST shot a guy and is probably about to shoot again.
>>27688008Without thinking, you and Falynn both dive for cover behind the suited man's table. At that moment, you can hear the loud, staccato bark that all Imperial SMGs made when they were fired, which was quickly followed by screaming as the various civilians began to flee for their lives. However, all the bullets were landing around you position, and you see the table you and Falynn were just at get shredded into splinters. However, the suited man's table holds firm, and you can actually hear the bullets pinging off of it.Wait, that mean his table was armored. His table was ARMORED. He had an ARMORED TABLE.The man draws a pistol and sees your expression."Would you believe me if I told you that this was not the first time something like this has happened to me?" He cracks a grin.>That's it for tonight! Be sure to tune in on Friday 6-7pm PST for the next thread! Hopefully we can get more done if the site doesn't go down again!
>>27688194That is a great fucking reference and you should feel like you own the world for making it.RIP Clancy
>>27688186so he's gonna menace the ceiling?>>27688194thanks for running!
>>27688194Jack...Ryan? As in Tom Clancy Jack Ryan?! THE HELL IS THE FUTURE PRESIDENT DOING IN A CAFE IN A WARZONE?
>>27688213You obviously don't remember much of Patriot Games.
>>27688213We're in the capital, not in a warzone.
>>27688206>>27688213I take it Merc just pulled something amazballs.
>>27688194See you then bro.
>>27688330Hes played by Harrison Ford, what do you think?
>>27688194I think we may have just met Lucina's husbando.
This started bugging me awhile ago.If lucas marries Falynn, is it a matrilineal marriage? The sturmfuhrers don't have a son yet and they are nobles after all. Unless a little Anakin appears on the stage, Char or Falynn's husband will have to marry into the line.
>>27688194Jack Ryan, specifically Harrison Ford Jack Ryan, hell yea! Great run as always Merc Com. Gotta love when 4chan doesn't work.
>>27689016I don't think Gallian nobility works like that, but who knows, its been explored so little that I doubt it matters.
>>27689092I'm pretty sure it works however the hell Jager says it works. Or he will make it work that way. Thoroughly.
>>27688194>His table was ARMORED. He had an ARMORED TABLE.How the hell?
>>27690082He obviously brings his own table and chair with him
>>27690082Jack loves his Osean food, got the cafe to have a personal table for him.
I have to admit, this date event went quite well aside from the fact it was interrupted.
>>27690490>Date ends by foiling terrorist plot>Attempt to go on a quiet date>Oh hey, fancy meeting you two here>cannot catch a break
>>27690490What better date than fighting terrorism alongside Jack Harrison Ford Ryan?Falynn's inner-Jager-voice is probably ecstatic right now because the date is ending up more awesome than he ever could have hoped.
>>27690588Do you think that inner Jager was completely bored out of his mind while their date was going on and kept on making suggestions to make it interesting?>"I don't like the way that guy's looking at you. Punch him in the face."or>"Why the hell are we at this damn Osean place? There's a pub at the end of this block, go there."
Oh, I gotta say, I really liked the headfake with the doom-pineapple. Everyone was so paranoid and convinced that the pineapple was filled with explosive ragnite nova six T-virus that it didn't even occur to them that it was just Fal playing the indirect kiss trick.
>>27690725I thought that the crepe would be filled with a "pineapple" hand grenade.
>>27690725And lucas has yet to have been given The Talk. This is gonna get strange. and awkward. and hilarious.
>>27690774I'm more worried over how Jager will treat Lucas.
>>27691195Drunken fistfight. And he find lucas wanting, even before the first mug has been finished.Lucas then kisses Jaeger
>>27691195>>27691195Childhood friend, will have to approve better then some total stranger
>>27691220still i fully expect a "hurt her and die" talkor a chase with with jaeger swingin' the var at us
>>27691216Or worse, he tells Jager he kissed Morgan and provides no context.
>>27691275Just wait till he finds out we kissed morgan
>>27691303we are so screwed
>>27691341Wait till the WHOLE family finds out...
>>27691303>>27691341He gets the idea that Lucas is a womaniser with a nice man exterior. He starts doing that 'i'm watching you' finger sign to lucas
>>27691351and lucas family too, thats gonna be bad...i wanna see it so bad
>>27691446How will Morgan react when we find out we told them?
>>27691681She'll shoot him.So will Simo.
>>27691792worse alek and elsa might come around too
>>27691792>>27691889So we have 3 angry familes to deal with...
>>27691927WITH BIGS GUNS.VAR, AT-1, AT-3, Sam's Lance, Dad's tank...
>>27692064the amount of shenanigans is MASSIVEthis is gonna be so fun!
>>27692422We better get keep it in until everyone is meeting then. Or if we want to live, get it out soon.
>>27692456first we gotta survie this secret agent/007/Harrison Ford thing on our hands(falynn as a bond girl or lucas pulling a oneliner probabilites: rather high)
If we find a bag of flour we could pull an Agent Coulson.
Still not entirely happy over the surprise lock last week. But whatever. Let's see where this goes, I suppose.
>>27690624This is exactly what I think was happening in Falynn's head. Well, until we met Jack. Now I think Jager is commenting on this guy's competence and will soon be feeding Fal questions for our new friend.
