Don't know what Valkyria Chronicles is? Check it out here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles or http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/Valkyria_Wiki

You are LUCAS WILLIAMS, a member of the mercenary company Demons of Randgriz and a graduate from its elite TIER ONE Program. You are now part of the elite, but inexperienced WRAITH TEAM, consisting of you and your fellow classmates from training.

After a grueling year of training and quick battle to get rid of some troublesome pirates harassing Gallia's northern coast, you and Wraith Team have found yourselves transferred to the exotic land of San Salvacion, an entire ocean away from Gallia. You've been brought in to help the beleaguered country suppress the rebels that oppose its rule, as well as counter any possible Erusean aggression from the South.

Unfortunately, the action started much sooner than you thought it would when your base was ambushed literally almost the moment you set foot in it. While the attackers were repulsed, the attack has left you and your squad a bit shaken that presumably poorly armed and organized rebels could strike at the heart of San Salvacion's military power in the south so easily.

Unfortunately, it seems the situation is getting more and more complicated as more players in this conflict begin to reveal themselves, such as Emmerian special forces, Imperial weapon smugglers, unscrupulous rival mercs, and more...

You are currently standing inside a large, underground chamber located beneath the Emmerian Embassy. The chamber was obviously of Valkrur origin, considering the walls consisted of that odd, ragnite-based metal alloy as well as their ancient writings. In the center of the chamber was a metal orb set within a podium. Wires and all sorts of scientific equipment were attached to the orb and the podium as well, no doubt attempts by Emmerian scientists to investigate the ancient device.

"The Cartographer?" You blink, looking at the orb again.

"Our scientists hypothesize that it's some sort of mapping device." Hudson says. "We don't really know what it maps, much less how it works. Hell, we don't even know how the turn the damn thing on."

"That's where you come in." Jack says, turning from Simo and approaching you. "Simo here has informed me of something very interesting..."

Jack then points at the ragnite pendant Sparky is wearing.

"What? This?" Sparky blinks in confusion.

"There's a depression in the podium that's an exact match for it." Simo says. "A bit too much of a coincidence, if you ask me."

"It might be the key to activating it." Jack continues.

"I don't know..." Falynn frowns. "From my experience, most of the Valkrur stuff we've found tends to be the extremely destructive kind..."

"We haven't found any indication that this is a weapon." Hudson says adamantly.

"But you just said you had no idea how this think works..." You mumble.

I have to ask, considering there is a religious order dedicated to the Valkrur, what level of influence do they hold in the various countries and how come they, who worship and thus likely seek out anything Valkrur related, never seem to be the ones digging up all this Valkrur shit?

Also, Ef no, I played Alone In the Dark and Halo, none of that shit please.

>Any other house in Gallia he’d go thud against a carpet and get back on his feet. Too bad for him he wasn’t, and in those moments he free fell five feet to the rug below him he had just enough time to think about why. Tarin decided, of course, citing “vertical clearance,” and “high ground,” until Ramirez gave up and said the magic words, “Yes dear,” and refused to change even when he had to lift her in and out of bed.
This part seems a bit clumsy, since you never say exactly that he's talking about the bed.

>even when he had to lift her in and out of bed.
That's adorable.

>There was a brief panic as he searched for the slippers Edwin gave him
Edwin?

>Being married to a scout is hard. Real, real hard. Their danger sense was already borderline unfair, Tarin’s was just ridiculous. That slap came BEFORE Lucina cried and Ramirez would bet a whole platoon of tanks on that.
Again, a bit clumsy, but I love that Tarin is channeling Radar O'Reilly.

>"Ramirez, hold that baby!"
Well played. Very well played.

All in all, it's pretty good, but there are some parts that could use some work.

"Okay, let's put it in." You nod.

"Um, okay." Sparky says, a bit uncertain. She reluctantly hands her pendant to one of the scientists. "Hey, don't break it, okay?"

The scientist nods and he carefully approaches the Cartographer. It was apparently that this poor guy drew the short straw. He very carefully inserts the pendant into recess and then dashes for safety.

There is then a low humming sound as the entire chamber begins to vibrate. It wasn't like an earthquake or anything, but just powerful enough to notice. The orb begins to glow blue, and then you actually see it CHANGING. As in, a small, black dot appears on one end of the orb, making it resemble a giant eyeball. Below, one of the machines connected to the Cartographer appears to be a printer that is somehow gaining input from the artifact, judging from all the paper it's spitting out.

++SEARCHING++

As it says this, the orb begins spinning around rapidly, the small black dot inspecting each and every person in the chamber carefully. It really was like a giant eyeball. You see the orb's "eye" pass over you. It sizes you up briefly, and then proceeds on to the next person.

"W-what happens if it doesn't like what it sees?" Sparky whispers.

"Nothing, I hope." Falynn says warily.

++NO AUTHORIZED USERS FOUND++

++ENTERING STANDBY MODE++

The orb then stops swiveling and settles back down into its socket, the black dot dissipating, leaving the orb a blank sphere of metal once again. However, there is still a dim, blue glow emanating from podium.

"Well... that was something." Simo frowns.

"Did you get anything?" Jack asks the scientists.

"Nothing useful, sir." One of the scientists shakes his head. "It was throwing around a lot of electrical signals and radio waves, though."

"Luckily we shielded this chamber against airborne signals." Hudson points out.

"So um, what now?" You asks.

"Well, we at least know it WORKS." Jack sighs. "But as you see, we cleared one roadblock only to run into a another. I'm pretty sure we're going to need a Valkrur to operate this thing, but they're extremely rare."

"If I recall correctly, the last known natural Valkrur died back in EWII." Simo sighs. "None have turned up since."

"Well, it was a nice try, but I guess we've still got ways to go." Jack shakes his head. "Mind if we keep that pendant?"

I think I have an idea for a possible upgrade for Falynn.

How about we replace her assault rifle for a combat shield/pistol or Personal Defense Weapon combo?
The way I see it is that we can have Falynn store extra Ragnaid, general and special ammunition, varieties of grenades,
a grenade launcher (like an M79 "Thumper" or possibly a China Lake), or even a compact shotgun on the inside of the shield to increase her versatility at the expense of direct firepower.

I think that this upgrade would improve her overall effectiveness as she is part of the Engineer class and is our Medic who may need to carry specialized equipment, supplies, or tools for missions.
The shield can also provide some temporary cover so if we ever need to cross an open area, we can "Suppress and Advance" until we get better cover. It could even provide her cover if she needs to work on something or get to an injured squaddie in the middle of a firefight.

The grenade launcher, should we ever get one, can fire different 40mm rounds including explosive, anti-personnel, smoke, buckshot, flechette, and illumination.

The Var shot grenades, and there was an underbarrel attachment that was available for purchase in VMQ1.
>>
>>27817794
>>27817808

Which were for stormtroopers, not engineers.
>>
>>27817815
Not to be nit-picky or anything, but the original Var could be used as all guns the the game (including lancer, sniper rifle, etc.) and the rifle grenades were for scouts.
>>
>>27817846

And we got the one-of-a-kind Var MK.II, not the original. Does that tell you anything about how Merc is planning to balance our equipment?
>>
>>27817724
Yeah, I never understood why Engineers double as Medics, I mean, I understand "Ragnite, Son" but that doesn't change the value of having someone out there with solid triage/battlefield medical knowledge.

Back to your point however, compact shotgun or a machine pistol would be best. A grenade launcher is too many loadout questions and alot of versatility for one character when MC doesn't want characters acting outside of their chosen roles.
>>
>>27818063
in later games, engineers could advance to medics (more of a healer role, can revive others)

Shotguns were stormtrooper equipment for VMQ1, though. And a machine pistol is just a tiny SMG, and those are getting phased out for assault rifles anyways. (You could try to get Nemo to make a tiny rifle, though? The Colt Commando is a thing, after all.)

A pirate gun might be appropriate as well.

"You should ask Sparky. It's hers." You say flatly.

Jack and Hudson both turn to Sparky. Sparky, now in the hotseat, loses a bit of her bravado under their powerful stares.

"I-it was gift from my uncle. I really want to keep it." She says softly.

"You heard her." Simo says, stepping behind Sparky to implicitly back her up. You and Falynn do the same.

"Well, it's not like we were getting anywhere with it anyways." Jack sighs and nods to the scientists, who pull the crystal out and carefully hand it back to Sparky. "You said your uncle gave it to you? Do you have any idea where he got it?"

"Well, I'm not sure. Uncle Vinnie didn't talk a lot about his work." Sparky frowns. "All I know is he pretty much disappeared for several years while working for this guy named Whitmore."

"Whitmore. Figures."

You see Jack and Hudson turn to each other and nod in affirmation.

"Preston B. Whitmore. A billionaire industrialist who enjoys leading expeditions into the most remote and dangerous corners of the Earth looking for Valkrur artifacts and ruins. Naturally, Emmerian Intelligence keeps an eye on him but he can be hard to track sometimes. If we can find him maybe we could trace where that crystal came from..."

"Um, if you don't mind me asking, but why is this so important?" You ask.

"Because, kid, you think a war between San Salvacion and Erusea is going to be the main show? It's a testbed. Ever since EWII, everybody's been looking to get an edge over their rivals, and Valkrur tech is the quickest and easiest way to do it. If what the linguists say is right, the Cartographer is a the holy grail of them all, since it could potentially lead us to every city and facility the Valkrur ever built."

CODEX ENTRY UNLOCKED:

General Nikita Dragovich

Born well before the start of EWI, Nikita Dragovich is one of the few individuals alive today who experienced the horror of both Europan Wars. Forged the hellfires of the First Europan War, Dragovich joined the Imperial armed forces the soonest he could and quickly began climbing up the ranks, becoming rather famous for his brutality and willingness to do anything to win. During the interwar period, Dragovich was eventually promoted to General and appointed to be head of the Empire's Ministry of Applied Sciences, the department responsible for the creation of Imperial superweapons like the Batomys-class superheavy tank and the Marmota-class land dreadnought. Despite being the head of a scientific division, it was not uncommon to see Dragovich on the frontlines "testing" his inventions on the unsuspecting enemy (and in some cases, his own troops).

After the conclusion of EWII, Dragovich lost interest in conventional weaponry, and began investing time and resources in researching Valkrur-based weaponry. While the defection of Dr. Forrester to Gallia was a huge blow to his plans, Dragovich continued his research into Artificial Valkyria for decades despite the worldwide ban on Valkrur weaponry.

Dragovich's last known location was somewhere in central Erusea, where it is believed he can continue his research away from the prying eyes of international authorities, as well as comb the unmapped jungles for undiscovered Valkrur secrets.

His known associates are Captain Lev Kravchenko, his personal enforcer, and Dr. Friedrich Steiner, his chief scientist. They are considered Class 1 War Criminals by the Federation and Gallia. They are extremely dangerous and should be approached with caution.

"Oh... that sounds pretty bad." You frown. You turn and see Falynn clutching her right arm again, like she was recalling something she would rather not have.

"So, where do we go from here?" You ask.

"Well, you guys are going back to the border. With an attack like this, war is now a question of when, not if." Jack sighs. "We decrypted that intel Hudson brought back. It contains details of sleeper cells seeded all over San Salvacion that were supposed to hit every city simultaneously in order to clear the way for an Erusian invasion. Seems like Hudson's raid spooked them into acting early, which was why it was so easy to clean up."

"Well, I suppose you guys will have your hands full, then." Simo nods. "We'll be taking the first flight back to the Bastion. Hudson, are you coming with us?"

"Sorry, no can do." The Emmerian spy shakes his head. "New orders are to pursue any leads pertaining to the Cartographer. You guys will be on your own out there."

"Typical." Sparky rolls her eyes.

As you, Simo, Falynn, and Sparky exit the Embassy and link back up with the rest of the squad, Simo clears his throat to gain their attention.

"I'm sorry, Wraiths, but due to the current circumstances I'm rescinding leave. We're getting on the first plane back to the Bastion. Finish up whatever you're doing here and report to the front gate in thirty minutes. I need to arrange transport to the airport.

With that, Simo walks away, leaving you all to your own devices.

Sam won people over through the course of the Quest. Falynn was a result of anons route-point-whoring under the guise of being nice.
>>
>>27819502
There's a chance Falynn and Lucas might be incompatible. A creepy twin hovering our their shoulders, for instance, allowing no privacy would be unsettling.

The problem is Jager...

I'm still hoping for a Lucina end, but I don't want to smush Falynn/get murdered by Jager.
>>
>>27819528

>>

Oh, there's the anon who thinks that we can break a route...
>>
>>27819566
Actually, my fellow Lucinafags were MORONS in that choice. Making Lucas the voice in her head would have made it a blatantly unhealthy relationship, basically killing any chance of it working out long term. Right now, the only way it won't work out is if either Lucas' bloodrages scare her off, or her whole "I have hallucinatory conversations with my father" thing creeps Lucas out, which won't happen because Lucas is controlled by anons, and anons find dangerously crazy cute. See the popularity of yandere.

"Come on, Falynn, you can tell me." You grin. "I thought couples weren't supposed to keep secrets."

"Well..." Falynn sighs. "Remember how I got beat up during the recon mission?"

"Yeah..." You say, not liking where this was going.

"Well... we saw... things. Results of that Dragovich guy's artificial Valkrur experiments and they were pretty horrible." Falynn shudders. "I can still picture them crawling around in that stupid mine. Now I understand why Uncle Arthur hates mines so much..."

"But that's not all, is it?" You narrow your eyes.

"Well..." Falynn clutches her right arm again. "That guy who beat me up during that mission, that was that Lev Kravchenko guy."

You feel something flare up in your stomach, but only for a brief second before you force it back down again.

"It's okay, he's gone and that whole thing is done!" Falynn says quickly, now unconsciously twirling her hair around her finger in order to get her mind off it.

Relationships HAVE to go both ways. As it stands, /tg/ always labors under this refusal to have a character do what makes them happy. She isn't bad but out of all the girls she was the least interesting, she is basically a smarter Sam with a Jaeger punch with confidence issues. Sure, I rather not hurt her either but considering how this is a repeat of the Sam route it's a little jarring if not frustrating.

Morgan was the mysterious trap (though in my opinion we popped the secret too soon)

Char had an over abundance in confidence and a bit mischievous (Which we never had a chance to dig deeper due to anti-waifus)

and lastly Lucina the kuudere and her ignorance of social situations,(Which I found interesting)

As much as Merc gave us goods reasons as to why it's turned out the way it has...

It kind of reminds me how the underlying theme of the first quest was a set-up in its own right. The "Healthy- healed" relationship with Sam, and the "Unstable - stay revenge focused to the exclusion of all else". While I must admit that it turned out the way it did for the best, it rankled me at the time to find out that we were subtly manipulated like that heh.

Guys, if we have other places to talk about this, like a chat channel or something, let's do it there, this is the actual quest thread after all, and I think we're clogging it up with a bunch of shit.
>>
>>27819939
At least it felt natural in the first VMQ, this kind of did not even if Merc gave us some good reasons. that still doesn't really excuse it for feeling like the rehash of the Sam route, or rather when the voting happened was also jarring
>>
>>27819939
Actually, I think this might be one of the few quests where a date ISN'T a guaranteed routelock, specifically BECAUSE of that dynamic from the first quest. Think about it, neither Lucas nor Falynn is completely sane. Lucas has his bloodrages, and Falynn has her "THE NUMBERS, MASON!" thing. A relationship between the two is an unstable powderkeg of crazy fueling crazy, just WAITING to go off and kill a whole lot of people.
>>
>>27820005
it's Tg, anon we follow crazy whether we like it or not. Not to mention the Anti-Waifus will have none of that since they already closed the lid with choosing Faylnn hoping to end this once and for all. Also as much as I dislike what happened suddenly breaking up will probably piss as many people as actually choosing Faylnn in the first place
>>
>We don't want to hurt Faylnn

Writing someone to have enough strength of character to ask the MC out also means she's tough enough to handle a break up.

I'm not saying we have to be a shitbag, just saying that returning to our one true love won't make us a shitbag if we handle it right.

>>
>>27819939
>As much as Merc gave us goods reasons

But his good reasons were bunk.

If you reread the Quest or even just the discussions since the vote it's clear Lucnia has the most fans.

Merc said he didn't see it, want to know why? Because we didn't force the waifuing more. THE EXACT THING MERC DIDN'T WANT US DOING.

The reason he picked a girl is so we couldn't waifu too much, the reason he picked the wrong girl is because we didn't waifu enough.

"But you don't really believe that, do you?" You narrow your eyes.

"It's just...I don't know. He should be dead. Nobody could have survived that, but..."

"But what?"

"I just get this FEELING sometimes." Falynn shivers. "Like this ugly pit in my stomach sometimes that he might not be dead after all."

"I don't know!" Falynn sighs. "I just sometimes start to really feel like he's nearby. Like, he's just out of my sight. Waiting. Watching. And then my arm just starts seizing up..."

"Falynn." You lock her in a big, tight hug. "You're not alone. If that big scary Kravchenko guy ever comes back, we'll take him on together. Heck, we might even invite Charlotte over for some extra beatings. That okay with you?"

"Y-yeah."

You finally feel Falynn's body relaxing and you let go of her, but then hold on to her right right.

"If it ever seizes up again, you can just run it through my fluffy hair, okay? We're dating now so you can do it however many times you want.

"R-really?" Falynn's eyes widen.

"She has to submit an official request in writing."

Dude, shut up.
I'm guilty of lighting the spark on this shit and I think it's gotten WAY out of hand.
>>
>>27820256
As much as I support this cause of ours, please, do not excite trouble in this thread. We don't need to a bunch of shitheads running around and trying to ruin others fun by yelling and bashing.

If we want to win this, we have to win this legitimately, and fairly so to speak. That's not speaking for clear railroading, but that's a different issue. Let's stay classy gents.
>>
>>27820256
>completely unnecessary railroad

We could have said no. That wouldn't have been a bad choice. Saying 'Maybe' was the bad choice. We voted for 'Yes'.

There was another choice that would have been fine, but the majority didn't vote for that one.
>>
>>27820368
We didn't vote for yes. It was a tie that Merc broke.
>>
>>27820368
>We voted for 'Yes'.
Go reread the thread. it was a 50/50 split, and Merc just totaled up the points. Falynn had more due to anons always choosing the "go help Falynn" options early on, and that was the decider.
Although I would have favored doing like in VMQ1 and ending it on a cliffhanger, with the decision being made at the start of the next night, it WAS a legitimate resolution to the conflict.
>>
>>27820379
On a late sunday night.
On a vote that /tg/ has a history of voting yes on in a heat of the moment deal.

>>27820395
> Falynn had more due to anons always choosing the "go help Falynn" options early on
Because she needed help and it was in character. When ever free interaction time(no plot, no upgrades, nobody called for us) came up Lucinia won most. Lucinia is also the most popular 2nd place vote when ever she was an option.
>>
I see it like this; Falynn needed a helping hand and was in a bad place, so Lucas can to her rescue, when she is more mentally stable (and after enough nagging from her dad in her head) Lucina and the rest can join in on the fun and harem end ftw
>>
>>27820513
Lemme guess, you were brought in by SW89: Deadliest Catch?
Because Merc has explicitly stated he doesn't do harem ends, and you would KNOW this if you were in the first Quest.
>>
>>27820530
Also because a harem end would have Ramirez and Tarin and Jaegar and Elsa and Williams on our ass.

And not in the cool way.
>>
>>27820222
"Falynn, you go on ahead for a second."

"O-okay."

Once you see Falynn is well on her way to the truck, you dash back to where Jack is.

"What is it, Jack? I'm in a bit of a hurry here-"

"Look, kid, you want to help us with the Cartographer? I got a way." Jack then slips a small envelope to you. "Give this to Simo. It's some of the intel we pulled out of that Imp base. It's got locations of Dragovich's research facilities. If you hit those, you might find something. Who knows, maybe he has an honest to god Valkrur hidden in one of them."

"Why are you doing this?" You ask.

"Because it seems like you guys will be in the best position to hit them, especially if this war goes hot. Can't trust the San Salvacion regulars or Artemis, and since we got to rebuild the Embassy, I'm going to be shorthanded for quite a while."

"Okay, I'll pass it up to Simo." You nod.

"Good." Jack turns to walk back to the Embassy but pauses. "One more thing. The eggheads say that pendants like the one your friend Sparky is carrying SHOULD give off some kind of reaction if they're near a Valkrur. Just an observation..."

And with that, Jack disappears back into the bowels of the Embassy.

The ride back to the airport and then back to the Bastion was fairly uneventful. Most of the time everybody was sleeping due to the exhaustion of a full day's fighting.

On your debrief the next day, you find out, unsurprisingly, that the mass rebel attack was not only restricted to the capital. Cities and bases all over San Salvacion were hit, but the attacks were fairly disorganized and eventually repulsed. Also, while you weren't specifically named, you do not that a lot of stories seemed to be describing "Gallian mercenaries" as having saved the day, at least according to about forty people who managed to escape rebel imprisonment.

And, well, you're not sure whether to be annoyed by this or not, but on the front page of literally every newspaper you see Lara's plane on it in some fashion, often with the caption "WHO IS THE RIBBON FIGHTER?"

"Ah, don't worry about it." Bragg laughs as he sees your twisted expression as you read the newspaper. "Planes are the next big thing, so it's natural the media will focus on that instead of us boring groundpounders."

"Uh huh." You say absentmindedly.

"Or wait..." Bragg gets a devlish grin. "Or are you just bothered that the person getting all the attention is your sister?"

It's the pendant that's the detector, and honestly, if Valkyrur equipment can't sense it, then for all intents and purposes she might as well not be.
>>
>>27820641
Well I guess the artifact detected it before ditching the thick jacket did. Remember what Valkyur females are known for.

Though the question is: Who IS Valkyur?

Then again usually it takes a near death experience for the powers to fully awaken.

>>

She did start out with a potiental that healed her. And the reason why you couldn't trigger it yourself would be spoiling something too soon.
>>
>>27820877
Well, besides those squadmates and the scientists as well as Hudson in that room, unless I somehow subconsciously omitted Morgan's presence in the room, were there any other squaddies besides those 3 with us at the time (i.e. Bragg, Lucina, etc.)?
>>
>>27820934

No.

If you look to the end of the last thread, you would notice that Simo only called for us three.
>>
To clear up a bit of confusion, only Lucas, Sparky, Falynn, and Simo went down to the Cartographer chamber.

>>27820543

"Ah, so you're afraid of the Eruseans targeting her specifically." Bragg nods. "Fame can be a double edged sword. That's why I prefer being an anonymous ground pounder. Less complications that way."

"I guess." You sigh. "Wish I could talk to her right now."

"Well, Barfbag just touched down for a supply run. Maybe he could give you a ride to the Kestral?" Bragg says.

"Maybe..." You frown. "But I can get in a lot of trouble for that."

"Well, that's what famous relatives are for!" Bragg laughs. "I'm sure Lara could convince everyone to look the other way for you!"

"I don't know how I should feel about that."

You and Bragg make your way through the base looking for Edwin. Naturally enough, he's in his tent, reading another one of his many, many books.

Edwin never even knew what was coming, which was odd because Edwin usually had an uncanny sense to spot ambushes. Maybe today was an off day or something. Either way, you and Bragg both take advantage of this and barge into his tent.

"W-what the hell are you two doing here?!?" He yells.

"NO TIME TO LOSE!" Bragg bellows, grabbing one of Edwin's arms. "THERE'S FUN TO BE HAD!"

"Don't tell me you're going along with this giant buffoon's plans, Lucas!" Edwin yells.

"Sorry man, but you've really got to lighten up sometime." You shug and grab his other arm. Both you and Bragg then physically haul him out of his tent.

"So uh, where are we going, anyways?" You ask Bragg.

"Well, where else? Down to town, of course! They've got the closest thing a bar in these parts."

The three of you get some odd looks as you pass through the base, Edwin in tow. However, nobody seems to make a big deal out of it. Well, you couldn't really blame them. Their boss was Jager Stumfuhrer after all. After all this time, he could STILL be found physically carrying his wife out of the Academy go have some FUN once in a while.

Once you reach the west gate, you can see Simo and Runaround already there, waiting for you.

"Damnit, Bragg, I told you to ASK Edwin to come, not kidnap him!" Simo scowls.

"Ah come on, what else was he gonna do? Read more books? That's no way to live!" Bragg chortles. "You got that, Eddie? You agree to behave and I'll let go of you."

"Fine. fine!" Edwin snaps. " And don't call me Eddie! That's a commoner name!"

"Sure, whatever." Bragg shrugs as he lets go of Edwin's arm. You quickly follow suit.

"Come on, let's get this over with." Edwin snaps as he dusts off his shirt.

Finally, you reach the "bar", which is really just an open air hut with tables and lots and lots of liquor of various types sitting on a crudely carved counter.

"First round's on me!" Bragg grins.

it's a mojito, bro, cool your jets. It's like 9% ABV tops, 15% if you're a mad man.
>>

Mind you that's still stronger than most beers, which are 2% to 12%, with most falling between 4% and 6%.

Teenage girls can handle that shit.
>>
>>27822346
that 9% was a stiffer one. For a regular drinkin' mojito it'd actually probably be right around an average beer in terms of ABV, something like 4-5%. You don't want too much alcohol in something like a mojito, since it's a "drink and enjoy in hot weather while it's ice cold," kind of drink.

>>
>>27822271
Well, it wasn't too bad, actually. In fact, you think that the drink actually made you loosen up a lot. Or you know, that could just be the alcohol taking effect. But, at least you can still think clearly, even if you are feeling a bit tipsy.

"Heh, tipsy from just that? You really are a lightweight." Bragg laughs as he slaps you on the back, nearly causing you to snort your drink. "We'll fix that soon enough! But I guess we can stick the little kid drinks for now!"

With that, Runaround and even Edwin began taking in some drinks. Even Simo has a beer or two, but you notice he never really takes it any farther than that..

Our character concept is the son of a Kinght. We gave our word not to drink and we know we are with a comrade and superior officer that this has caused problems with and is likely going to tell the person we swore to because he either doesn't know he shouldn't or knows and is pissed of. This is massively out of character, pointless and possibly pretty damaging with no possible outcome worth ignoring any of those points.

Add in that the gate that holds against the beast is only as strong as Lucas' code. And part of that code includes an oath to not drink.
>>

Don't worry, the more sane members will probably get the picture when Lucas does something extremely out of character when drunk (i.e. Murder, property damage, rape, etc.) Unfortunately, less...wise members will try to keep going on about it was only a one time thing.

>>

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/27071561/#p27081511

The oath is vague. It says "I will never do something like that again."

While saying absolutely nothing about whether we meant the kiss or drinking. My personal opinion was that it was the kiss, not drinking.
>>
>>27822538
>>27822540

Damn, I should have been more specific....
>>

Unfortunately, it seems like Bragg's choice of drink is a little TOO strong. Once Edwin downs it, his eyelids flutter and he slumps forward. At first you're not quite sure what's happened until you hear a loud snore. He just went and dozed off on you!

"You're going to have to carry him back, Bragg." Simo says.

"Aw nuts." Bragg sighs as everybody laughs.

The rest of the night is spent just talking about random stuff. You honestly can't remember most of what was said, but you do vaguely remember Runaround fantasizing about the exotic car collection he wants to amass someday, and Bragg's eternal quest to find the woman with the biggest boobs ever and marry her. You suppose there could be worse motivations in life.

As for Simo, he remains oddly silent, at least when it came to his personal life.

It takes all of your coordination and willpower in order to stumble your way back up the hill to the base. However, by some miracle (and probably Simo's guiding hand), you make it safely back to your tent and just flop down.

Was drinking always going to be this tiring? You really hope not.

---------------------

Meanwhile, after Bragg carefully lowers Edwin into his cot, he quietly sneaks out of the tend to meet up with Simo.

"Hey man, thanks for clearing this. I think those guys really needed a chance to loosen up." Bragg says.

"Don't mention it. At least they didn't burn anything down. Plus, it's the least I can do for cutting their leave short."

"Things are gonna get bad, aren't they?"

"What makes you say that?"

"You're never generous unless there's a good reason to be. It's just the kind of guy you are."

"I guess you're right about that." Simo says as he looks up at the night sky. "I have the feeling things are going to get worse. And soon, too."
