You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President with the task of saving Lafayette Girls Academy by winning a Tankery World Tournament.

It is now 7:00 O’Clock in the morning and you are just waking up, thankfully to the sound of your alarm and not to the sound of a Friday morning DJ who thinks sticking their IPod up to the microphone is a way to broadcast music.

You stretch out your arms as you rise out of bed. Of course, if you wanted to save your school by participating in a tank based tournament, you actually need tanks.

> SUBQUEST UNLOCKED:
> Panzerjäger
> Find Lafayette Girls Academy’s 8 Tanks.

You’re not gonna find any tanks in your underwear though, time to get showered and dressed.

What shall you wear?

> School Uniform. Gotta look presidential.
> T-Shirt, Cargo shorts. Shit’s gonna be dirty.
> Sundress, cardigan. Probably the most impractical for what’s going on today, but damn if sundress season ain’t going out without a bang.

Looking presidential don't mean shit if you aren't getting anything done.

> T-Shirt, Cargo shorts. Shit’s gonna be dirty.

Fuck presidentiality and sundress season, it’s time for practicality.

You take a quick shower then get yourself dressed. Come to think of it, the alternatives are the only other clothes you’ve actually brought aboard. You need to remind yourself to buy more clothes, because that’s what girls do. Now it was time for this girl to find some tanks.

Just incase you need some long-range spotting, you also decide on bringing Grandpa’s binocs. Hopefully 70 years of disuse hasn’t affected it none.

Now it was time to hunt for tanks, for serious.

Actually, it’d probably be a good idea to wake your best good friend Kitten. There’s no way in hell she’d ever willingly wake up this early.

What shall you do?

Wake Kitten.
As obnoxiously upbeat as possible.

> Wake Kitten.

Welp, time to go wake up the cat then.

Your dorm is only a floor above her’s so it’s not the biggest walk. Room 16 on the ground floor of the dorm building was where she was based out of. If you know anything about Kitten, she’s probably asleep after a night’s gaming.

Nerd.

You give a quick knock on her door. Nothing.

You knock again. Still no response.

You’ve got a couple options here.

> Break into her dorm. Not the first time you’ve done it, certainly not the last.
> Keep knocking on her door. The repetition will rouse her like a bedbug infestation.
> Call her on her cellphone. Probably the most sensible option but then again sensible was kind of boring.

Eh, carpe diem.

With all the might of a 16-year old schoolgirl, you kick the door in.

> You broke into Kitten’s home.

“KITTEN! IT’S YOUR BEST GOOD FRIEND!” You shout as you walk inside.

Like your dorm, Kitten’s place was empty save for the desk which housed her gaming computer and things like the bed or the kitchen. Unlike your place though, it was sparkling clean. Kitten liked things clean, and whenever she wasn’t gaming or sleeping, she was cleaning something.

Of course she wasn’t cleaning now, she was fast asleep at her desk, clad in her school uniform, her long brown hair rustled around her, apparently not having been woken by your break in.

“Kitten,” you shake her shoulder. No response.

“Kitten,” you say again. Still no response. You decide to break out the big guns.

“Carol Smith!” Kitten immediately shoots up from her desk and into the floor.

“I’mawakeI’mawakewhatsita-“ her face of panic is quickly replaced by indifference when she realizes you’re standing over her. “Oh, it’s Lara Croft. You come here to fulfill my repressed homosexuality?”

“Yeah, Kitten. I’m Lara Croft, and I’m here to fuck your brains out until you turn straight from sheer exhaustion.”

Kitten scoffs. “Funny.” She stands up, and immediately the height you hold over her becomes clear. Almost a full seven inches. Of course you’d never tease her about her height, that’s middle school stuff. Her hobbies were fair game though. She looks past you at her door. “You break my door again?”

“Yep.”

“I have to get that fixed you know?”

“Yep.”

She sighs, wiping her eyes. “Let me guess, you’re here because we need to go find tanks.”

“Yep.”

“Great. Fine. Let’s go.” She dusts herself off and follows your lead out the door. As you head outside, Kitten instinctively raises her arm over her eyes. The sun is an evil mistress to the unprepared.

Now it was time to call up your staff and find out where you all would meet.

Time to call up your ever punctual Latina. You gesture Kitten to follow you as you take out your cellphone and dial her number.

She answers. “Hey, Prez.”

“Ramirez, good to hear from you. Where are we all meeting?”

“Uh, over at Lake de Grasse. Nancy already brought us some breakfast. Lisa ain’t here yet though but she says she’ll be soon.”

“Righto, talk to you later.” You hang up.

Kitten trails next to you, slouching and slacking like any good nerd. “So,” she says. “That your staff?”

“Yep. To be honest, I don’t actually know them all that much. We only know each other from last year’s elections.”

“Of course they’re nice! Nancy in particular is a real doll. Lisa and Ramirez are pretty chill too from what I can understand. Hell, they’re probably the best damn staff a girl can ask for!”

Kitten nods, breaking into a slight smile. “So I hear.”

> Kitten will remember that.

“Anyway, we gotta head up to Lake de Grasse, that’s where we’re meeting,” you say. Kitten’s smile immediately fades.

“That’s too far…” she mumbles.

“It’s only a half mile.”

“A half mile too far.”

You sight. “You know, it’s conversations like this that make me wonder why you’re not totally fat.”

“Gotta be cute for the internet.”

“Figures. But come on, Nancy’s a real good cook. She’s got breakfast prepared for us.”

Kitten simply grunts. You decide to let it rest for now. You’re on the hunt for tanks, the most womanly thing anyone could imagine. Nothing can stop you now.

“My name is Gertrude Pool.” You shake her hand. The freshmen are all smiles and sunshine. Oh, innocence. A year of being on academy ship with no men will turn them into women, or lesbians.

“Hey,” Andrea speaks up. “Aren’t you the Sophomore class president?”

You nod. Modesty was the best policy. “I am, actually.”

Ashleigh says, “That’s so cool! Do you like, get to choose where the schoolship goes?”

“No, that’s the senior President’s job.” Much as you hated having to say it, it really was. TIME TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT. “You girls look like you needed help with something.”

Cathy nods. “Yeah, we were looking for the Club Fair.”

Oh freshmen. “That’s not until School starts on September 3rd.”

All of them go, “ooooooohhhhh…” Ashleigh says, “we’re stupid.”

Cathy nervously chuckles. “Well, I suppose that’s out of the way. What are you up to?”

A couple of whispers and gasps. You’ve got them. “Actually,” you continue, “You girls think you can help me with that? We can talk shop about the new Tankery Club I’m opening up this year.”

Tara says, “Tankery? Isn’t that for dykes?”

Kitten coughs. “Actually, it’s just a woman dominated sport, lesbianism has nothing to do with…” the attention from you and the curious freshmen who look like they finally noticed her gradually shuts her up. “… yeah.”

You clear your throat. “Yeah, my best good friend Kitten is right. I won’t sugarcoat it though. It’ll involve a lot of manual labor. You girls in or out?”

They look pensive. After a moment, Cathy speaks up. “I’ll do it.”

“So, you girls have an easy time getting on Lafayette?”

Cathy seems to be the spokesperson for the group, as the rest of them simply talk amongst themselves, with Kitten trailing close behind. Cathy says, “Oh, it was a hell of a thing. First you have to go through MEPS, then you have to sign waivers, and pass all kinds of physicals, not to mention the entrance exams. It’s real lucky all five of us got in.”

Andrea says, “We wanted to go to Adna Chaffee Academy but their exams were way too rigorous. Tara wanted to go to that tech school Walter Christie but she got waitlisted.”

“Waitlisting,” you say, shaking your head. “Always a killer.”

“Still,” Cathy says, “it’s a great opportunity being on an Academyship. And we’re real lucky to have run into you.”

“Oh, we were all freshmen once,” you say. “Hopefully your stay at Lafayette is a good one.” You immediately want to take those words back. Too late now though.

Lake de Grasse was now just up ahead. It was a large lake in a park made for the people living on Lafayette. All kinds of people were going about their day, students, dependents, faculty, the lot. You could clearly see Nancy and Ramirez who were staring intently at the lake, discussing something out of earshot.

“Nancy, Ramirez!” you call out as your group approaches. They look at you and are instantly surprised at the gaggle of freshmen following you. “Girls, this is ‘Kitten’ Smith my best good friend. These-“ you gesture to the freshmen, “girls are our new crew. Cathy, Tara, Andrea, Ashleigh, and Tabitha.”

Ramirez nods in a “not bad” sort of way. Nancy immediately gets to work shaking everyone’s hands and in general just being nice. You walk up to Ramirez and ask, “what’s with you guys staring at the lake?”

Ramirez says, as if nothing is wrong with it, “There’s a tank in the lake.”

Your mood picks up. You’ve already got a tank, even though it’s at the bottom of a lake. “Really! Great!” Your mood gradually drops. “… how the fuck are we gonna get it out?”

Ramirez shrugs. “Dunno.”

You ask, “How did you even find it?”

“Long story. Let’s just say I accidentally pushed Nancy in, she was under for a minute, and she came up and said, ‘there’s a tank in the lake.’”

“So where’s everyone’s favorite jew?”

Ramirez shrugs. “If I knew, I’d tell you. Apparently she was in talks with Principal Tennyson last night, said she wanted to bring something that might help.”

Your stomach growls before you can continue.

Ramirez nods over to a nearby picnic table. “Food’s over there. It’s pancakes.”

How the fuck did Nancy make pancakes all the way outside? Whatever, time for pancakes. You quickly take up a hot plate and begin chowing down. In the middle of your feast, you think to get Nancy.

“Nancy!” you say, with spittles of syrup and pancake coming out, “did you see what tank it was?”

Nancy stops her meet and greet and says, “I only saw a bit of it, and I don’t know anything about tanks.”

That figures. But as soon as you go back to your pancakes, the ground starts rumbling. You quickly turn to see what it is.

“What the hell…” You say.

It was Lisa poking her head out of an Armored Recovery Vehicle.

The ARV stops just short of the lake. She now has everyone’s attention. She looks pretty proud of herself as she climbs out of the hatch. Up until she trips and falls to the ground. She quickly gets up, no worse for wear.

> Greet Lisa

You walk up to her and say, “Hey, Lisa.”

Lisa, looking still incredibly proud of herself, says, “Well howdy, Boss. You’re looking just dandy today!”

Time to confront the elephant in the room. “So what the fuck is that thing?”

“Principal Tennyson tells me it’s a Bergepanzer III, some kind of German recovery vehicle. Naval studies has been using it transport cargo along with the Dragon Wagon which should be coming up soon along with a crane. Really though I got a lot to tell you.”

You invite her over to the table. Everyone else is ogling the Bergepanzer, apparently never having seen something so big up close. “Shoot.”

“Okay, first things first, budget. Tennyson is giving us 20,000 dollars to help start the Tankery team.”

> + 20,000 DOLLARS

You nearly choke on your pancakes. 20,000 Dollars.

“Secondly, Tennyson’s registering us in the World Tournament, that’s coming up in October. Since we’re now technically a sports team, that means we can use the school sports field anytime we want.

“Thirdly, I went on the internet and found a site that sells tanks for cheap. I’ve narrowed down a couple of possibilities. Just tell me when and I’ll send you a link with the tanks.”

You nod. That’s a lot to swallow.

So what now?

> Get everyone organized. You have two crews now along with something that was technically a tank.

> Dig the tank out of the lake.

“Welp, let’s get to work.” You walk up to the group. They all look at you expectantly. “Girls, we got our work cut out for us today. We got five tanks to recover now. One of which is in the lake, the other four are somewhere around the entire ship’s surface. Lisa, you did a good job driving here, you handle that. Nancy, I want you to handle controls for the winch. Ramirez, take your clothes off, you’re going diving.”

Ramirez nods and immediately starts stripping to her underwear.

You look over at Kitten. “Kitten, you actually know something about tanks. So you’re gonna take the freshmen and start scouting.”

Kitten looks over at the freshmen, who look very unimpressed at Kitten. She then looks back to you nervously. “Are you sure?”

“Positive.” You hand her a map of the ship. “Just mark down nearby landmarks if you can’t make out exact location. We’ll figure out the rest. Any questions?”

“… yeah… can I have a job that doesn’t involve people?” Kitten asks.

> Yeah (Specify what job.)

“Kitten, this’ll be a lovely experience. Maybe you’ll make some friends!”

Kitten crosses her arms, puffing airs. “… I have you don’t I? Isn’t that enough?”

Aw, she’s making you blush. “Oh stop it.” You ruffle her hair. “Look, they’ll clamor to you for information on a tank. They’re already your underclassmen. I’m sure you can do it.”

“But-“

“Do it for me?” you ask. Kitten looks conflicted, and then is finally defeated.

“Okay,” she says softly.

You pat her on the shoulder then send her away. The six of them call a taxi and soon enough, they’re away to find new tanks. Now you had to recover this one. Ramirez was already in the drink. You climb up into the superstructure of the Panzer III next to Nancy.

“Hey, President,” she says. You look over. She looks very uncharacteristically worried. “When we get all the tanks, do you really think we have a shot at winning the tournament?”

“Of course, Nancy. Anybody can win anything as long as they put their minds to it. You scared?”

“A bit. I mean, I know nothing about tanks. I’m not sure you know anything about tanks. All the other schools…” She sighs, but then breaks into a smile. “But you’re right. We might have a shot.”

Ramirez surfaces, giving a thumbs up. Nancy begins pulling, along with Lisa driving backwards very slowly. Slowly but surely, you can begin to make out a shape in the water, rising up. It breaks out of the water. Past all the water and brown rust you can make out green. Water seeps out of a couple holes, and as it continues to rise it’s obvious what tank it is.

You say, “It’s an M4 Sherman.”

In all it’s welded hull, 75mm, gasoline rusted engine glory.

> TANK UNLOCKED: M4 SHERMAN (VINTAGE)

Ramirez stands by the Bergepanzer III and asks, “You guys got a towel?” Lisa tosses her one out of the hatch.

Lisa climbs up to you guys. She looks at her watch and says, “Dragon Wagon should be here soon.”

You nod. “Great. We’re making progress.”

What do you do now?

In real life. But in a world where tanking is a competitive sport, you can bet those things aren't anywhere near as common.
>>
>>27867350
The Sherman, if we can get it to later versions with the 76mm and wet storage is a perfectly fine medium. The Firefly is very distinctive and will get targeted, along with some issues it had after to much firing.

“Great job, crew.” Everyone looks sufficiently happy, now that progress has been made.

“So, Boss,” Lisa asks, “you actually know what tank that is?”

“Of course! It’s an M4 Sherman. You never watched war movie before? These things take the piss out of German tanks. You know, Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Kelly’s Heroes.”

Lisa and Nancy glance at each other, then back at you. Yeah, they got no idea what you’re talking about.

TIME TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT. “Eh… anyway… Lisa, what’s the price on those tanks on the internet?”

Lisa smiles. “I narrowed down five good looking tanks for under 20,000 and as low as 100 dollars. Admittedly, I really chose based on looks, but I’m sure they’re fine. They also got conversion kits and stuff like that too. We can also visit Mr. Mishka at his Tank Shop for that stuff too.”

“Great.” At this point, Ramirez climbs in, now fully clothed. “So how are the tanks going to be fixed?” you ask.

Lisa looks over at the Dragon Wagon now coming into the park. “Naval Studies Engineering Students. Tennyson says they’re going to be drafted as our maintenance crew. They’ll be repairing our tanks for free in exchange for extra credit.”

You nod, satisfied. “You’re really on top of things, Lisa.”

Lisa nods. “Of course, my parents are bankers, I always have to be on top with things involving money.”

Lisa sighs. “Yes, I’m aware of how stereotypical that sounds. Let’s not bring it up again, okay?”

Your cellphone rings. It’s Kitten.

“Alright, Kitten, you stay there. We’ll come to you.”

“Righto, I’ll send you our GPS coordinates. It looks like it’s stuck in the ground anyway.”

Ah, the GPS coordinates app for the iPhone, always good to have it.

“Lisa, bring us over to these coordinates.”

Lisa quickly goes down into the tank, “Yeah, Boss!”

One thing you had to note. The Bergepanzer III on the move was loud as fuck. Thankfully you were quite used to loud noises thanks to having a little sister raised in the 00s with iPhones, stereos, and video games.

You let the chilled wind breeze through your hair as the Bergepanzer III moves down the roads of the Academyship. Onlookers gawk not at the schoolgirls, but at the ARV.

An old lady waves out her window. “Very nice! A Bergepanzer III! If I were you, I’d convert it into a StuG III soon as possible!”

You wave back. “Okay!”

You start getting out of town and move into the farms where food is grown. Soon enough, by the side of the road, you can see Kitten waving to you. She flags the Bergepanzer III down into the field and towards the BT-42.

You shout over the side. “Hey, Kitten! Is the BT-42 a good tank?”

Kitten shouts back. “No!”

Well, at least she was honest.

As the Bergepanzer III began wresting the BT-42 free of the ground, you decide a conversation with Kitten is in order.

“So Kitten, how are the freshmen treating you?”

She says, “Oh, they’re just fine and dandy. Talking about stuff that I really couldn’t give two shits about like the latest talk on Ryan Gosling or the Kardashians and stuff like that. Girl stuff to be specific.”

You snicker. “Now Kitten, ain’t anything wrong with being a girl. There’s just different ways of being girls.”

Kitten nods. “That’s deep.”

“Not really.” Her eyes widen, she realizes something. “What tank did you guys dig up?”

“An M4 Sherman.”

“Ah, like an A1? Or an E8?”

“… noooo?”

Kitten nods, understanding. “I see. I suppose there’s room for improvement.”

The BT-42 is free, and it’s now easy to see why it refuses to move. It’s missing a track.

“Anyway, Kitten. Go ahead and keep looking. We’ll stay here and wait for the Navy kids.”

Kitten nods. She and the freshmen leave the scene for their taxi. Probably would be cheaper to just buy a car or something.

>The Valiant's suspension was tested by the Fighting Vehicle Proving Establishment at Chertsey in May 1945. The first day gave minor problems and was abandoned after only 13 miles (21 km) of easy on-road driving. However, the driver was already exhausted by this time, finding that the steering levers needed his full weight to operate and that the seat, footbrake and gearlever all carried risk of physical injury in using them. The Officer in Charge decided to abandon the trials there and then as it was impossible and unsafe to continue, reporting that "in his view the entire project should be closed"[1] There were also issues with weight distribution and the ground clearance of only 9 inches, and by that point of the war there was no longer a need for the tank.[4] The Valiant project was terminated.

“Hm… the SU-122 looks cool. And a tank for a 100 dollars? Wow. And a Tiger for that price.”

“Undecided, Boss?”

“A bit.”

Lisa nods. “You can decide on it later.”

You nod. “What do you suggest?”

She shrugs. “The fuck am I supposed to know about tanks. I’m a treasurer, not a tanker.”

She is right about that. Might be a good idea to ask Kitten later.

In the time you spent trying to decide, the Dragon Wagon has arrived and already loaded the BT-42 up. Kitten is calling again.

“What’s up, Kitten?” you say.

“Churchill Mark I, over in the Marshall Ney Forest.”

Welp. Time to go.

“Say, Kitten,” you continue over the phone. “Is the Churchill a good tank?”

“Anything other than the Mark I, yeah.”

There’s that honesty again.

The Bergepanzer III leads the Dragon Wagon on. Kitten again, flags you down off the road and into Marshall Ney Forest. Lots of trees but Kitten keeps you going on paths wide enough for the Bergepanzer III and the Dragon Wagon to fit.

Soon enough, you find the Churchill stuck in a ditch rearend first. A tree has also fallen on top of it.

“Yeah.” Ramirez starts, “That’s gonna take a while to remove.”

What do you do now?

> Talk with Kitten

You proceed to talk to Kitten about the tanks you were mulling over on Tankslist.

“AHAHAHAHA!” she laughs harder than anytime she ever had. All you did was mention buying the A38 Valiant. “Ahaha… oooh. That’s a good joke, Trudy. Really is.”

“… I was being serious.”

Kitten looks surprised. “Were you? Oh shit. Well, let’s just say the Valiant is not a good tank and leave it at that. Don’t buy it. Now a Tiger for under 20,000, that’s a real steal. I’d get that. We can convert it to Competition spec later.”

“I’ve been meaning to ask, what’s with vintage and competition spec stuff?”

Kitten clears her throat. Looks like it’s nerdout time.

“Vintage tanks are very old tanks that haven’t seen too much restoration work. They’re pretty much worse than how they would’ve performed in their age because of aging, not to mention rust and stuff. Very prone to catastrophic breakdowns. You can use them, but it’s not exactly suggested you do.”

“Competition spec tanks are tanks that are either restored to full working order. Costs a good amount of money to restore vintage tanks to this state but it’ll be worth it. They’ll perform as well, if not better than their historical stats would suggest, and will not have catastrophic breakdowns. Losing a track or a stalled engine though isn’t out of the question.”

“Finally, you have Elite tanks. Best of the bunch. No breakdowns. They require an actual elite crew however, and I’m not sure Lafayette has one just lying around.”

You nod. Yeah. You know some of those words.

Time to hunt for the last tanks.

“Freshmen, ride with us, you don’t have to worry about the taxi anymore.”

After all is said and done and everyone is loaded, you start out of the forest. Soon enough, back onto the road.

“Say,” Nancy speaks up, “how did you girls find those tanks anyway?”

Cathy smiles, nudging Tabitha. “Tabitha here has an excellent sense of smell. She can smell rust and grease a mile away.”

Tabitha shrugs. “My parents work in perfume, it’s a requirement.”

Cool beans. You say, “Get up here then, we’re gonna need that nose if we’re gonna find those tanks.”

Tabitha brushes some hair out of her face and climbs up to the front of the superstructure. Even though the Bergepanzer III is going at brisk pace, you can tell she must’ve smelt something. She takes another quick scent.

“Lisa, get ready to go where she points,” you say.

Tabitha suddenly points left. “THERE!”

The Bergepanzer is rocked as it drives left, shaking everyone inside.

“GENTLY, LISA!” you shout.

“Sorry!” she shouts back.

Soon enough, with Lisa’s driving and Tabitha’s sense of smell. You end up back in the fields. This time, curiously, having found two tanks. One apparently capsized on the other.

“What are they? Kitten?” you ask.

“A KV-1S and an M5A1 Stuart.”

“Are they good?”

“Should be.”

I think this one's going to be the most flexible. Fast and decently armored, which is ideal for a command tank. Plus there's a buttload of variants we can upgrade it into.

> UNDECIDED (LEANING ON STUART, SHERMAN, AND KV-1S)

“Well, gotta say I like the Sherman. It’s a real American tank, like in the movies. The Stuart and the KV-1S though look really attractive to me.”

Kitten nods. “I suppose you’ll narrow it down tomorrow then?”

“Yeah.”

The Dragon Wagon has now been loaded fully with all five tanks.

Lisa says, “Alright, Boss. It looks like we’re done here.”

Ramirez nods. “Yep. What do you want us to do next?”

You look at your watch. Oshit it’s 4:00 O’Clock PM. Where did the day go? Oh well, I suppose in the excitement you completely forgot about having lunch. And so did everyone else.

“Right, I’m buying us some food. I’m hungry and I’m sure everyone else is.”

Cathy says, “I thought you’d never say so. Where are we going?”

“The most American place I can think of. MCDONALDS!”

Everyone cheers in excitement.

Soon enough, at 5:00 O’Clock, you’re all busy stuffing yourself with McDonalds.

“You know,” Ramirez puts down her burger to say something. “I think we all did good work today.”

Nancy nods. “I agree, we’re really getting somewhere.”

Lisa talks through her chewing. “Yep. We keep on the momentum, nothing is going to stop us.”

Kitten shrugs.

Nancy looks over at you. “What do you think, President?”

“We all did great work out there. I’m seriously proud of you all. Nancy, thanks for making the Freshmen feel welcome. Lisa, thanks for driving and you really kick ass at driving I’ll say. Kitten, thanks for being our tank encyclopedia for now. Ramirez, thank you for stripping in the open to your skivvies for our sakes.”

Ramirez shrugs. “It was nothing.

You continue. “Anyway guys. We really have it. We’re in business. We keep recruiting crews, we keep getting tanks, we keep getting money, our school will be unstoppable. It’ll all be thanks to you guys.”

Nancy plops her hands on her cheeks. “Oh President, you’re making me blush!”

You chuckle, “I’m serious Nancy. Everyone. Thank you.”

Five tanks, a new crew unlocked. It was all coming together swimmingly. Your school was practically safe at this point. Everyone returned to their normal conversing. Just normal girl stuff, what to wear tomorrow, what electives they chose, what kind of guy they want. All as the Academyship, Lafayette Girls Academy, sails the deep blue sea.

It ain’t gonna get much better than this.

Somehow, the topic of conversation managed to drift from electives into names.

“Nancy is my grandmother’s name. She’s a real sweetie, makes the best kinds of food that I only can hope to emulate.”

“My real name is actually Carol. Trudy just calls me Kitten because of a very longwinded incident involving cats at the animal shelter back in D.C. She still won’t let me live it down.”

“My parents happened to be watching The Simpsons at the time.”

“Well, I was named Gertrude because… I’m not entirely sure.”

Everyone, including you, looked at Ramirez. The only one with no apparent given name. Even your cellphone lists her simply as Ramirez. Ramirez looked up from her meal of fries and a shake and simply said, “Uh… So I think George Clooney was pretty attractive in O’ Brother Where Art Thou.”

Lisa asked, “What’s your actual name?”

You nod. “Yeah, you never tell anyone what your first name actually is.”

Ramirez blushes, scooting herself into a corner. “Eh… it’s… pretty embarrassing.”

Kitten says, “Can’t be as embarrassing as the guy who has the longest name in the world. What is it?”

Ramirez sighs. “… It’s…” she barely mumbles out something.

Lisa snickers. “What?”

“..emum…”

Lisa leans in, hand near ear, “What’s that?”

“CHRYSANTHEMUM!”

The table is silent.

IRL, a T-34/85 (in poor condition) can be had for as little as 30,000
You'll have to pay extra to haul the fucker out of the Hungarian Pig Farmer's field, but shit, T-34s are cheap as chips

“I think that is a unique name, Ramirez,” you say, careful not to tread on her given.

“Yeah, Chrysanthemums are beautiful for funerals!” Nancy says. Lisa immediately sputters into quiet but enthusiastic laughter.

Ramirez simply rolls her eyes. “Well, thanks guys. I suppose.”

Lisa desperately stops laughing for a moment to say, “Well I can tell it’s a touchy subject with you, Ramirez so I won’t try and tease you about it.” She quickly breaks back into a giggle, “but seriously what Nancy said, hehehehe!”

The clock strikes 7 O’Clock. You decide to say your farewells to the Freshmen and the Naval Studies Engineering.

Dory approaches you before she leaves and says, “We’ll consider the offer. Personally, I think tanks are a real treat. Maybe if I get time freed up though.”

“Thanks.”

The five of you all head to the dorm buildings.

“You know what would be nice?” Nancy says.

“What?” asks Ramirez.

“If at some point in the middle of all this mess, we managed to actually make a lot of friends.”

Lisa nods. “That would be nice. Would be a change of pace from you idiots.” Everyone giggles. “Seriously, what kind of people are we gonna meet?”

Nancy looks over at you, “What do you think?”

"The best."

We should also probably check up on how our sister's first day went before we go to sleep.
>>
>>27871313
Really, as much as it would kill me to say it, I have no real need to keep it armed. As long as they don't cut a huge chunk out of the barrel and leave it out, I'd be fine. 'Snot like an old Hellcat would scratch a modern MBT, and besides that I'd imagine that ammo would be a major bitch to find without the right contacts.

But theoretically, do you happen to know what kind of paperwork there'd be? I'd imagine that I'd have to get a destructive device tax stamp, but beyond that I dunno.

I honestly don't know where this paperwork would be found, but I do know that some private collectors do possess fully functional AFVs, guns and all.

You also might be able to make the ammunition yourself if you could did up the specs and the proper equipment.

“You can head up with me, Kitten.”

Kitten smiles. “Great. No touching though, I’m sure there’s enough homoeroticism between the both of us.”

You roll your eyes. “Yeah, sure.”

You open the door and let Kitten in. Before you let yourself in, you take one last look outside. The sun is already setting on the day over Lafayette Girls Academy. You’ve found tanks, recruited a crew, brought your own crew together, and so far it looks things are just simply looking up.

Kitten comes back to the door. “You don’t mind if I bring my laptop up here do you?”

You shake your head. “Not at all.”

Kitten quickly runs downstairs, and a minute later, her laptop plus charger is in her possession as she runs into your room.

You smile. You walk in and shut the door.

Also point. But that wasn't really specific, I was just naming one off the top of my head.

Are they really that rare? I thought they made several thousand of them. Of course, ze germans also made a couple thousand Tigers and I think the only one running is in Bovington.

Also, I found out a couple of months ago that apparently, Haynes makes a service manual for the Tiger. Also, the Spitfire as well. At least, they do if I'm reading their website right.
