You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village.

The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.

After picking up some books from Marchamp's store, you and the Princess headed to an art supply store where you ran into Citrine.

Things got really awkward really quickly.

>Congratuations, you are now a mangy DOG!
>While dogs are loyal, they're not all that smart...
>The Princess now considers you to be her friend!
>But while dogs are man's best friend, they still don't count as people.

"You don't say..."
"I know, right!? His son's having a birthday party in a few days, so the two of us are going to be there for the grand unveiling!"

"Aw man, I never thought I'd ever get the chance to meet an actual KING... I bet you're all jealous now, aren't you?" Citrine teases.

>>

This. From an OOC and IC perspective, it's pretty grating and rude on her part.
>>
>>27996304

Thats what the asking marie is for.

She knows whats up, she knows what we'll be asking.

It'll be for her to decide.
>>
>>27996340
As far as she knows, we're no one special. Implying that she knew us and was a whore doesn't mean that we were at the brothel, presumably we might have seen her on the street or something.

Sure, it's embarrassing for the royal guard, but she doesn't know we're in that, or that we're with a princess right now.

None of which Citrine knows about.

It needs to be addressed, which means telling her where we work, but probably at the ball.

There's no reason to yell at her for something we did while frozen.

And we really shouldn't blow Marie's cover in town at all.

>>
>>27996465
>It needs to be addressed, which means telling her where we work, but probably at the ball.
>There's no reason to yell at her for something we did while frozen.

We can say we work at the royal guard and may be forced to attend. We don't have to say Marianne is the princess.

>>27996340
Please, this.
>>
>>27996465
My comment had nothing to do with Citrine or the situation at hand, only making an observation about something cliche Arc can throw at us later when we're in private with Princess Marianne.
>>
>>27996456
See: >>27996360
It's not really her fault. The first time was supposed to be a private conversation and the second time it was brought up by someone else.

This has only been a problem because we kept it a secret ourself.
>>
>>27996433
The vote is over but the debate is just beginning.
>>
>>27996497
its time!

>>
>>27996434
I think after Citrine giving us a hug in front of her and Citrine naming her son after us the Princess would work out that she's still our childhood friend and the whore part is incidental to all of that. Marianne is pretty smart.

>>27996465
Citrine will know who Marianne is at the party. We aren't saying to bellow who she is to the entire crowd, but quietly telling Citrine now means that we avoid potential awkwardness at the ball. There's little point in keeping this secret.

>>27996340
No. Just no. In this case Marianne brought it up first. Not Citrine. All she did was give us a hug.
>>
>>27996496
>This has only been a problem because we kept it a secret ourself.

Except that's wrong. Who the hell goes blabbing about their past, especially about something like that?

And private conversation? She yelled about it in /public/. Even if you were a commoner and got out of it, you wouldn't want that brought up
>>
>>27996456
It's a habit of anon.. Especially after THEY TOUCH AND MOCK MAI WAIFU.
>>
>>27996512
She blabbed that she was a whore, and only after someone asked.

She never said anything about what we did and how we know each other, just that we were old friends.
>>
>>27996561
That we came out of a brothel?
>>
>>27996512
While she did mention it publicly, I don't believe she was YELLING it.
I;m fine with Reinhold being reticent about bring up his past, but Citrine is not and never has been. Asking her politely to refrain from bringing it up is fine (bad memories being the excuse that comes to mind), but I see no justification for being an ass while doing so.
>>
>>27996556

>>
>>27996512
see this >>27996483
>>
>>27996561
So that it's handy, the following took place on the street in the middle of the day:
---------------------------
Before you can react, Citrine runs towards you at full speed and traps you in a strong hug.

"oh my god you've gotten so handsome I can't believe it you made it this far reinhooooooold" Citrine says, holding you in a vicelike grip.
"Um... hey." you reply, unsure how to react to something like this.
"Oh... oh wow..." she finally lets you go. "I heard about you winning the swording tourney, but I never expected to see you out here..."
"Uh, yeah," you reply. "So, um, what brings you out here?"
"Ehehe... we've both come pretty far from that old whorehouse, huh!" she says, with a warm grin.
"Yeah, thank God."
---------------------------
So yeah, she publicly (but not loudly) implied us both being from a whorehouse.
>>
>>27996584
>the only female who's been mean to us is the princess
only applies since we stated at this guard job.
>>
>>27996483
Growing up in a brothel. It's not something you're necessarily ashamed of, but it's not something you blab off. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to tell semi-strangers that I grew up in a shitty neighborhood, at a brothel no less, was abused and molested as a child. It wouldn't be something you'd tell someone unless you know them very well after a long time. You tell your best friend or lover that kind of shit.
>>
Meanwhile archelon doesn't address this despite being very aware there's an argument. I hope he does it IC at least
>>
>>27996483

Wasn't he sexually abused? That can leave an awful impact at a young age.
>>
>>27996628
Thankfully this quest is VN/Anime style.
If it was aspiring to realism, I would have a lot of choice word for Arc's portrayal of child molestation and its mental impact on the MC.
But he's not aspiring to realism, so IDGAF.
>>
>>27996483
Of course not because she's dense as hell.
>>
>>27996628
I'm not sure if this is even remotely the same, but my mom was paranoid schizophrenic. I used to hide it a bit when I was growing up but after a while I just stopped giving a fuck. I think in Reinhold's position I'd be alright with people knowing about my shitty childhood.

Granted, I'm not sure if that fits Reinhold's character or the scenario but there's my two cents.

"Uhh... Marie?" you turn to the Princess.
"Actually..." Marianne says, "...the two of us will also be going to that same party."
"Oh, really?" Citrine says, holding her hand to her mouth in surprise.
"Yes, we're actually in town today to do some pre-trip shopping," Marianne replies.
"So that means that you... Oh, I get it!"

You brace for impact.

"Marius was telling me that Prince Emilio was a huge fan of swordsmen and fancy swords and that kind of stuff, so of course they'd invite the best swordsman in Granache to his birthday party... I bet he'll be so excited to meet you!" Citrine says, clasping her hands together.
"I'm sure he will," Marianne says, smirking.
"And I take it that you'll be his escort, Marie?"

You turn to the Princess, wondering how she'll respond.

"One suggestion, if I may?"
"Hm?"
"You should try and keep from being so open about your past around the nobles in Marconetti," Marianne says in a serious tone. "They're quite... judgemental, and it will save you a lot of grief."

"You do have a point there," Citrine says, pointing her finger in the air. "I don't really care since it's all in the past, but Marius was telling me that I ought to be a bit more secretive."

Takamaru might be somewhere around our age range, and we were on pretty good terms with him.

Other than that there aren't all that many guys in our social circle, the nobility of Granache had a large crop of girls about 15-17 years back.
>>

Takamaru looks about 30.
>>

Oh, I actually totally forgot about Taki.
He was on duty during the visit, so it's excusable. And we did want to (and should) bro-up with him.
I missed the thread he was in, or I would have suggested to the Marconetti princess that we have a duel. She would have been all over it. We'll see him at the party though, and we'll hang out.
>>
>>27997286
We actually did suggest a duel but he didn't have time and said maybe later when we visited Marconetti.
>>
>>27997286
We did try and have a duel if I remember. He said he couldn't because he was on the job.

I acknowledged that he was on guard duty. I'm saying we should have suggested to Princess L that we have a duel, rather than privately to Taki. L would have, I think, been excited about the idea.
>>
"I guess I'll be seeing you in Marconetti then," you say.
"Looking forward to it!" Citrine replies, smiling. "Well, I guess I should stop holding you two up..."

Citrine then gives you another big hug, and then heads off to look for more canvases. Trying to keep from eating up any more of the Princess's time, you quickly grab three of the same type of sketchbook that you bought last time along with a handful of pencils and pay for them.

"Looking to do some sketching while we're in Marconetti?" Marianne asks as the two of you walk out of the store.
"Dunno how much I'll actually be able to do, but yeah," you reply.

"So, Marie..." you turn to the Princess, "want to go find someting to get for the Wilhelms' baby?"
"That's right, I'd almost forgotten..." Marianne replies. "There's a toy store not too far from here, so I suppose we'll be able to find something there."

She then leads you down the street, stopping in front of a small store with several toy boats and stuffed animals in the window.

"Sir Gregory used to take me here when I was younger..." she says as she opens the door. "It's not the largest store, but their toys were always quite durable."

As the two of you enter the store, you're surprised by how colorful everytihing is. Brightly-colored stuffed llamas and bears, wooden blocks painted in primary colors... had you come in here when you were younger, you'd never want to leave.

"The baby is only three weeks old, so most of this wouldn't see any use any time soon," Marianne says as she looks around.
"Yeah, they can't really do much," you reply.

You then follow Marianne to a section of the store with toys intended for babies: teething rings, rattles, toy keys and the like.

"Hm..." Marianne says as she looks them over. "I don't think they'd appreciate something that would cause a lot of noise, since they do run a business..."
"So these are out too?" you ask.
"I suppose something like a stuffed animal would be best."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," you say as you look around.

Searching for something that wouldn't be too large for a baby, three things catch your eye: a small stuffed bear, a fuzzy stuffed alpaca, and a fluffy stuffed wolf.

"Hm, one of those might be good," Marianne says as she picks one up.

"How about this alpaca?" you say as you pick one up.
"Well, it is cute," Marianne says, looking at it. "Do you think they'd like it?"
"I don't see why they wouldn't... but you're the one who's buying the gift in the first place so the final decision's all yours."
"That is true... I suppose I'll go with the alpaca after all."

Marianne then scours through the store's stock of stuffed alpacas until she finds one that she deems to be suitably fluffy. After giving the toystore a final once-over to make sure that there isn't something even better to buy, she heads to the counter to pay for it.

As the Princess pays for the stuffed alpaca, you grab another one and walk up to the counter behind her.

"Hm? What's that one for?" Marianne asks as you pay for it.
"Oh, this?" you reply.

After the cashier gives you your change, you hand Marianne the stuffed alpaca that you just bought.

"This one's yours," you say.
"Eh!?" Marianne says, stumbling back. "I- I didn't ask you to-"
"You were saying that the one you bought for the Wilhelms' baby is cute, so I thought you might like one yourself," you reply.
"We- I- um... thanks," she says as she finally takes the alpaca from you. "That's quite thoughtful of you."

Completely flustered, Marianne waits as you open the door for her. As she continues to make an active effort not to look at you, the two of you head back outside.

Alright, posting a Nicolette thing now. It's only half-done, but said half corresponds to where we've gotten in the day timewise so yeah.

It's long, so I apologize for that in advance.

>also writing
>>
Having just finished putting on her armor, Nicolette looks around. Ever since getting promoted to Guard Captain, she's been provided with a large, fully-furnished room... but it's still nothing compared to her room back at home. No matter though, that's just one more reason to try and make Knight as soon as possible.

With a sigh, she grabs her lance and heads out to make her morning rounds, making sure the door is firmly closed behind her. Ever since that time she overheard some drunken off-duty guards daring each other to steal "the captain's" underwear, she's made it a point to be extra careful.

While nobody in the Royal Guard would ever dare to try anything openly, Nicolette's still fully aware that a good portion of them perv on her HARD when they think she's not listening... even though it certainly would be satisfying to beat the hell out of the lot of them, she'd much prefer not to inherit her father's reputation. Inspiring fear in her subordinates is a good thing, but terror is a bit much.

"Good morning, Captain Nicolette!"
"How's it going, Captain?"

As she walks through the various hallways of the castle, every guard she passes makes a point to show her their best salute while greeting her. After making sure that everyone in this area of the castle is at their posts (and threatening to beat up the guys who show up late), she heads down to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat.

"Hey, Margot!" Nicolette yells as she walks into the kitchen. "You got any bread left over?"
"Just a minute!" Margot shouts from the back room.

After a bit of yelling at the people in the back room to get theit acts together, Margot finally emerges from the back.

"Good morning, Nicolette!" Margot says with a weary smile. "We're in a bit of a hurry because we're in the middle of the Princess's breakfast, but would you like something?"
"Just a couple loaves of bread, that should be enough," Nicolette says.
"Alright, that shouldn't be too hard..."

Margot then runs into the back and comes out with two loaves of bread on a plate.

"Here you go, sweetie!" Margot says as she hands it to Nicolette.
"Thanks, Margot," Nicolette replies.

Nicolette then takes a seat at the table, devouring the loaves of bread as quickly as she can. Though she'd much rather not waste any time so early in the morning, Arnaud gave her a stern lecture the last time he caught her eating in the hallways...

With her hunger sated (for now), Nicolette heads back out to make sure that things are running smoothly with her subordinates. Fortunately for them, everyone's at their posts and they all know what their shifts are.

So far, it's been another boring day in the castle... while it's nice that she doesn't really have to worry about risking her neck or anything, the general lack of anything to do is more than a little bit boring, and it also means that there aren't any real oppotunities to show her skills.

"Captain Nicolette!" a male voice calls out.
"Wha?" Nicolette says, turning to face whoever called her.

God damn it, so much for that boring day...

"Hey, Dominik..." Nicolette says, sighing. "Done with your rounds?"
"You're as observant as ever..." Dominik says, winking. "So, what are you up to?"
"Same old, same old..." she shrugs.

Dominik Schiffer, age fortyish. Long, wavy brown hair, eternally with bags under his eyes, and kind of a total creeper. Oh, and he's also a Royal Guard Captain and Nicolette's former boss.

"You know, its going to be lonely here in the castle without you..." Dominik says, pretending to wipe tears from his eyes.
"I'm sure it will," Nicolette replies, rolling her eyes.
"C'mon, now!" he winks. "I'll miss your rugged charm, and the guys here are sure to start slacking off without the looming fear of you beating the hell out of them."
"Then maybe you'll have to start doing your own job again."
"Ha, there's the wit that I've come to love!" he laughs.

"...but seriously, how long are you going to be gone?" Dominik asks.
"Dunno," Nicolette replies. Emilio's birthday isn't for another five days, and we'll probably be sticking around for a few days afterwards..."
"Ugh... this really is going to be a pain in the ass," he sighs. "You're leaving tomorrow, right?"
"Yeah."
"In that case, how about we head into town tonight? I'll show you all the sights, and I'll foot the bill for everything!"

"You do understand that I have like less than zero interest in you in any way, right?" Nicolette says flatly.
"That's what you think now, but I'll wear you down yet..." Dominik says teasingly.
"Not going to happen. Ever."
"So you say... but I'll figure something out!" he winks.
"Ugh... I suggest you go back to whatever it was that you were doing before Vincent shows up and makes you piss yourself again."

Tired of these unwanted advances, Nicolette turns around and walks away.

"Make sure you bring me a souvenir from Marconetti!" Dominik shouts from the distance.

The job of a Guard Captain is to take charge in an emergency and make sure that the other guards are doing their jobs properly... with things as peaceful as they are at the moment, that latter part is pretty much all there is to do.

Going back to her job, Nicolette once again patrols her section of the castle, making sure that the shift changes go smoothly. Things seem to be going pretty well, but then...

"I DARE YOU TO SAY THAT AGAIN, YOU STUPID FUCK!" a man shouts.
"AND WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO IF I DO, FAGGOT!?"another man retorts.

God damn it...

Running towards the source of the commotion, Nicolette spots two guards who are about to come to blows.

"C- Captain! This little bitch said that my mother-"
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHAT HE SAID ABOUT YOUR MOTHER!" Nicolette screams, scaring both of the other guards. "If you have a problem with something he said, deal with that shit on your own time! But while you're on the job, I don't want to see or hear either of you retards acting up, you got it?"
"But Captain, he-" the other man starts to say, but stops himself midsentence when Nicolette flashes him a cold glare.

"If you two don't shape up, then I'll kick both of your asses myself, you got it?" Nicolette says.
"Y-YES SIR!" they both shout, saluting.
"That's what I fucking thought," she says, sighing.

with that out of the way, Nicolette makes her way to the kitchen to have lunch. And as always, Sylvie's standing by the door waiting for her.

"Hey, Sylvie..." Nicolette says wearily.
"Hi, Nicolette! Having a rough day?" Sylvie asks.
"The usual bullshit... let's head inside and get some food already.

The two girls then head inside the kitchen and take their seats, and Margot shows up a few minutes later with two large sandwiches for them. After they thank her for the food, she returns to the back room.

"Oh?" syivle grins. "And here I thought you'd be eager to see Princess Luciana again..."
"Sssssshut up!" Nicolette shouts, blushing profusely. "That was a long time ago, and I don't like her like that anymore!"
"I'm starting to understand why you like messing with me so much..."

"And -I'm- starting to think that maybe I'll just keep to myself when we're up there..." Nicolette says as she angrily bites into her sandwich.

>>
>>27999320
To be honest, basically all Tsunderes have shit self-esteem. It's just hardly ever properly addressed and used as an excuse for their behavior rather than a problem they need to overcome.

Take Louise from Zero No Tsukaima. She's considered one of the absolute worst in terms of bipolar bitchiness but if Saito actually went "hey, this chick has some serious problems because the entire school and her parents consider her practically worthless for not knowing magic" she would have turned out to be a lot more tolerable. Instead he makes fun of her too when he first figures out she sucks at magic and the whole series is basically "how much can we piss of this insecure chick?"
>>
>>27999322
If they actually have feelings they like reinforcing themselves by sharing with close friends.
Denying implies that she doesn't have feelings as denying after admitting(to a close friend) is a bit too stupid even for a teenage girl with a crush.

"Yeah, I am getting kind of hungry," you say.
"Very well," Marianne says, motioning for you to follow her.

She then leads you down a few blocks to a rather large restaurant. As the two of you walk inside, you're met with a youg waitress.

"Welcome to the Glass Pumpkin! Is this a party of two?" the wairess asks.
"That's right," Marianne replies.
"Alright then... follow me and I'll show you your seat!"

Doing as you're told, the two of you follow the waitress to a rather fancy table in the corner of the restaurant. It's a pretty nice spot, and you don't have to worry about people approaching from all sides.

"Alright, here are your menus..." the waitress places them on the table, "and I'll be back in a bit!"

After making sure that the waitress is well out of earshot, the Princess turns to you.

True but the memories are also painful enough to PTSD so I assume that is not fun to talk about an the Reinhold would avoid if he could
>>
>>27999634
The problem with submarines specifically is that tampons are classified as toxic waste, and cannot be dumped in the ocean. Integrated submarines are required to return to port more frequently because they don't have the kind of storage capacity a vessel does.
My brother is a Navy nuke, and is on one of the integrated subs now. He bitches about it frequently..
>>
>>27999681

But he can't avoid it. He's never been one to hid things out of shame or anything. It wasn't brought up so he never brought it up himself.

That strikes me as something that might be a Yankeestan Navy-specific issue, but I may be wrong.

I was more humored by Nicolette's hypocrisy. Monique was talking shit about her mom, and she was about to sock him.
I guess if we had NOT stepped in, this scene would involve her getting straight-up TOLD by her subordinates and losing face.

I'm sure there is a joke in there somewhere but it's not coming to me.

>>
>>27999701
The toxic waste classification is an international waters thing, so I very much doubt it. If other navies are flushing their tampons into the sea, they're violating international law by doing so.
>>

>>
>>27999730
I meant more in terms of the fact that you Yanks have nuke subs with very long deployment times, whereas most other navies with Diesel-electric subs aren't quite so badly affected since they already have much more frequent port stops for refuelling.
>>
>>27999755

I think that we should tell her in a more private place, later. We are still in public (though I'm not sure how busy the restaurant is).

>>
>>27999859
Look back at how we did this when we told Sylvie and Nicolette.

We just fucking told them and said it wasn't a big deal. There's no need for cloak and dagger, or insisting on telling her somewhere we're sure people aren't eavesdropping. Who would listen in on two random people at a corner table in a restaurant?
>>
>>27999898
Yes. I do it frequently.
Because I eat alone and have no friends and I pretend to have conversations with neighboring tables in my head.
>>

I'm not proposing bad things.
I'm just proposing it because it could move the relationship forwards.

"Sorry, I wasn't really in my right mind back then..." you say.
"Yes, well that was my fault..." Marianne replies guiltily.

"Alright, I might as well tell you..." you say, sighing. "I was found on the doorstep of a brothel when I was an infant. The guy who owned the place says that I couldn't have been more than a few days old. For whatever reason, he took me in, and I grew up there cleaning up and taking records and pretty much doing whatever the Boss told me."
"A... a brothel..." Marianne covers her mouth in surprise. "D... does tha-" she stops herself from asking.
"No, pretty much the only good thing I could say about the Boss was that he was adamant about not having me 'work' like the girls there. I still got beaten as bad as anyone else there, though."
"I... I see..." Marianne says.

"I was pretty miserable there until Citrine showed up when I was around seven," you say. "For whatever reason, she was always extra nice to me and pretty much taught me how to not hate myself... I still have no idea how she didn't end up turning into a horrible person like everyone else there."
"I suppose that her cheerfulness rubbed off on you," Marianne says.
"So she kept me from completely losing it, but it was still pretty awful and a bunch of things that I'd rather not talk about happened over the next few years... by the time I turned thirteen, it was getting where I was finally about to snap so Citrine told me to just leave it all behind."

As you finish your story, the Princess stares at you with total shock.

"I had no idea that your life was so..." Marianne sighs. "...I'm sorry for judging you."
"Don't worry about it," you shrug. "Like I've said before, I've dealt with a lot worse in the past."

upon hearing your question, Marianne covers her mouth as she starts laughing.

"You..." she laughs, "They talk about differences in... no, that's rude, never mind..." she says as she tries to regain her composure.
"That funny, huh?" you ask.
"No... I'm sorry... Fettuccine is a type of pasta that consists of thin, flat noodles. Alfredo refers to the sauce, it's based in parmesan cheese. And this restaurant places diced chicken in as well."
"Huh. Sounds good."
"It is."

After some more talking about various dishes and what the Princess's favorites are, the waitress comes back with your food.

"Just tell me if you need a box to put your leftovers in..." the waitress says to you as she places two plates filled with turkey legs in front of you.
"Will do," you reply.

Noticing that the both of you had finished eating, the waitress comea back with the bill. Though you tell her that you have plenty of money, Marianne insists on paying for your food as an apology for bringing up your past. After all of that is taken care of, the two of you head back outside.

"Might as well get this over with..." Marianne sighs.
"Get what over with?" you ask.
"To pick out a dress for the stupid party... let's go."

I didnt think you disliked dressing up. Or is because its for the ball?
>>
>>28000615
That should be more than obvious, man. She's said many times that she hates crowds and formal parties.

>>28000609
Ask what kind of dress she's considering.

"Cheer up, at least you get to -pick- what you're wearing. Though I have full confidence in Arnaud, I would much rather wear my armour..."

"You know, I had this same exact conversation with Nicolette. Though I think she objects to dressing up on principle."

Did that signal for getting her out of dances ever get finalized?

As much as I'd like to run this thread through to the very end of the day, I'm getting kind of tored so I think I'll call it a night here.
Pretty good run today, and I'm pretty pleased how it all turned out.

The next thread will be tomorrow night at the usual time.
And as always, thanks for playing!

I'm waiting for princess dress up with anticipation.

>everythingwentbetterthanexpected.jpg

The tension of the last threads is over, we just have the ball to be concerned with.
>>
>>28000662
We should detour to a flowershop once we reach Marconetti and buy her a matching corsage as a surprise.
>>
>>28000662

Cheers for the party, OP. Loving the story

Dude. Do you really think nothing's going to go wrong?
>>
>>28000815
We'll have all kinds of wrongs and goods i am sure.

In PGQ, there is no wrong or right.
There is only cute.

But its great when things go wrong. It means we get to earn our pay.

I'm not fully caught up but I want to say that we should try to activate Citrine's magic to check if her affinity is Metal, which would all but confirm that they're blood related. It's not like she has much better to do with her time than meditate.

Also ask someone about Swordbreaker. Seriously.
>>
>Citrine's husband was really inspired by our performance at the sword tourney
>Emilio is really into swordsmen and swords
>The king bought one of his paintings for his son's birthday

I've got a fair guess on what the painting is of.
>>
>>28000952
That would be deliciously awkward.

I'm laying fair bets on it allegedly being of us, but actually being hilariously Not Us.
>>
>>28000952
i doubt he would buy his son a painting of a noname swordsman's drawing as a birthday present.
>>
>>28000963
If Monique manages to be there, it would go beyond awkward. You know he loves events like that.
>>
>>28000933

There's nothing to ask, it's part of MC's backstory that will no doubt be revealed in due time.

(right, Arch?)

I also doubt that Citrine is blood-related in any way, although she's obviously been closest thing to family to Reinhold.

>>28001177

Reinhold is obviously - in terms of appearance - one of the generic animu male protagonist characters. That caricature is becoming rather old.
>>
>>28000952
>>28001262

This is a masterwork engraving of a human swordsman and a human swordsman. The human swordsman is striking a triumphant pose. The human swordsman is curled into fetal position.

(caught up now)

>There's nothing to ask, it's part of MC's backstory that will no doubt be revealed in due time.
Sure, but I don't see why Reinhold wouldn't be curious. He knew an adventurer wanted to adopt him. He now knows several old adventurers who could find out what the hell happened there. If we had played through the first day of Arnald's training, a day after the dream, I would have wanted to ask then, but that moment has passed.

I'm cool with waiting for it to be brought up again, though. Swordbreaker did have a place in Marconetti...

that sure is the joke.

I only picked the nice art to go on the wall because it looked more like a painting.

An amazing observation. Truly you are the hero this quest needs.
