Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest! Halloween edition and the one where I stop watching Symphogears G to write this.

Last session on Succubus Lord Quest was the long awaited reunion Brooklyn had with his male body... thought not in the way she’d of liked. His male body had been transformed into something called a Draugr, a form of super zombie often generated as a super assassin. Brooklyn’s male body had all the capabilities of Brooklyn in his Succubus body but an even better grasp of magic and fighting abilities, geared with only objective in mind: Kill Brooklyn.

After going through nearly an entire guard force in the Laminian town and holding his own against four Wrath Demons, our heroes decided to leave Draugr Brooklyn behind in an effort to be better prepared the next time.

Then after we moved into a new place and there was a party to be had. We now continue the morning after the party!

You walk out of your room, mumbling to yourself as you head down the hall towards the commons room. You were hoping that the reporters would at least forget you. ...I mean you forgot them last night.

As you walk into the commons area, you can see Lita’s dusty blond hair still picking up some snack food left over from the night before while Lita can be seen looking out the window down at the Old TO streets below. The room itself still has the large table surrounded by various bits of food you had called in and ordered, with many of the barrels of ale now bone dry.

“Nice view you got here.” Aria says looking down at the streets, her long black hair flowing down her back.

“We did pay quite a deal for it.” Ada mutters as she has an ice pack to her head.

“How did you manage to find this place?” you ask the reporter Gemelli.

“Oh we just asked some Laminian’s down in the village!” Lita replies.

“Then why are you not down there covering the story of the attack and up here bugging us?” Troy asks as he leans against a barrel.

“What do you think we’ve been doing all night!?” Lita then says holding up a sandwich triangle. “Right Aria!?”

Aria doesn’t respond, but you can instead see her leaning against the glass and breathing softly as she sleeps.

“OK~! We’ll just make this quick as possible!” Lita asks sitting down in a chair, taking out an old world pen and notepad, spinning the pen around in a flourish before pressing against her paper. “Alright! Now can you tell me about the details of what happened in Fort Hope when Langy took his super Old World Robot and laid waste to the town!? What was he after!? Was the Black Flame Hunter or Huntress connected in some way!? As Fort Hope's court mage, what is your opinion on this!?"

"...How do you know all this?" you ask.

"Trade secrets!" Lita then replies.

I was doing an assignment yesterday, and seeing as how I need to remain home for an icky next week AND my game for tonight is canned, I decided to do the thread tonight.

Said pic also had a part in delays. I didn't know they did a second season.
>>
>>28040200
He was very mad and there were lasers and explosions. This occurred after a period of growing paranoia, so perhaps his mental state declined to the point where he saw Fort Hope itself as his enemy.
>>
>>28040200
>>28040200
Well, that fact that he had a functioning Old World mech as an emergency plan is itself a sign of his paranoia. It seems the the activity of the Black Flame Huntress may have pushed him over the edge, it was certainly the Huntress or this draugr that ended his life. Weather they are the same or separate beings, I do not yet know. Though now that the draugr seems to be targeting me I suppose I'll have to find out awfully fast now, won't I?
>>
>>28040251
I agree. Should they not buy it we should mention, off the record, that the official investigators really did an excellent job and it would be such a shame if anything was published that contained crazy rumors, such as succubi being in positions of power and making the town into a place where succubi can not have to worry about pride demon oppression, that would cause him to take a second look. Oh, and incidentally the town really could use a good newspaper.
>>
“Did you hear the word of the official investigators?” you ask.

“Those results haven’t even been processed yet, so I can’t get that information.” Lita replies.

“Off the record, I think the official investigators did an excellent job in checking out the scene. I also wouldn’t want the town turning into any place where Succubi suppression could start which would cause the investigators to have a second look.” you tell her.

“Oh yes, naturally.” Lita says writing down some notes in her notepad.

“Oh and Fort Hope could use a good newspaper.” you mention. “The town Crier makes me want to shove a potato down his throat to silence him.”

“Hmhm...” Lita says as she continues to write.

“As for Langy. Even when I was living there normally... Hell everyone could tell that he was a paranoid old man. The sheer fact he kept a functional Old World war robot should alone speak volumes about his paranoia. I suspect the rumors about the Black Flame Huntress pushed him over the edge.” you tell Lita as you prepare some early morning tea for yourself.

“Which brings me to the second question. You were in the Laminian Village and, according to some Laminian assassins who were out for blood on the attacker, also at a bar. Isn’t the fact that you were at the same locations at the same time the Black Flame Hunter started his rampage?” Lita asks.

Goddamn reporter, she’s really cutting to the heart of the matter here. If anything she
might suspect that you’re the Black Flame Huntress. All you can do is keep calm and hope your aura doesn’t unconsciously change itself.
>>
>>28040527
"Yes I was."
>>
>>28040527
While I won't say I didn't use or didn't help in the creation of the title, this black flame hunter is a draugr targeting me, I don't know who or what made it but my only choice to find out.
>>
>>28040686
Lets not say that.
>>28040527
Yes, I was in a meeting with Arum regarding my suspicions about the Black Flame Hunter. She thought it would be best to keep the information close held however.
>>
>>28040686
this is a bad idea, don't do it. It screams guilt.
>>28040699
Possibly follow this up with something like, "I don't think it likes to be talked about..."
>>
>>28040527
"No, the Black Flame Hunter actually started it's rampage outside before coming to the Laminian village."
>>
“Yes. I was in a meeting with Arum regarding my suspicions about the Black Flame Hunter. She believes that information is best kept private, and considering the lengths that monster went through to try and get that information, I think it doesn’t like to be talked about.” you say warning her, a shiver going down your own spine as well. “Arum suggested I keep the information I know about it close.”

Lita snaps her fingers as she hears this. “Despite how much I want this story, attempting to pry it out of Arum is the last of my concerns. ...But still, the fact that Arum talked to you about this creature says something. During the rampage it had down in the Laminian village it killed a total of three Succubi... Including a single Gemelli.” Lita stops as she says this, her own look of fear spreading across her eyes.

Ah yes. The factoid that Gemelli often go insane if their partner is killed.

Lita then shakes her head before turning back to you. “And then being involve in a bar brawl where it was only stopped after it KO’d two Wrath Demons before finally getting its head crushed by the Peacekeeping force that showed up after. I understand that some information regarding it is best kept secret, but is there any information you can share with the public regarding this monster and the Black Flame Huntress?” Lita asks, putting her pen to the paper again.
>>
>>28040927
What I can share is that it's an immortal undead, so it'll be back sooner or later, it also had a magitech halberd and was rather good with darkness magic.
>>
>>28040927
"I believe it's a necromantic construct."
"Wouldn't be suprised if that thing would keep getting back on it's feet until the caster is dead."
>>
>>28041013
Lets... not share immortal undead
>>28041046
this is more vague and definitely the better choice.
>>
“It’s a Necromatic construct, it’ll follow orders, whatever those may be, unfailingly.” you reply as you sip your tea. “Since it is a type of Immortal Construct, don’t waste your time trying to beat it. It’ll only get right back up on it’s feet once again sooner or later.” you reply.

“But nothing a simple Blessing from Celestia or Death magic can’t solve!” Lita says holding her pen up in a cheery voice.

“Nenavizhu zhurnalistov...” Wilhelmina mutters as she helps yourself to your tea.

You only give her a solemn look as she says that, putting down your tea for a few seconds.

“...W-what!? You’re kidding right!?” Lita says with wide eyes in disbelief. “Can’t you just vaporize it or something!?”

“I was there in the meeting as well, and we went over that option. It’ll just reform somewhere else.” Ada replies pressing the ice pack harder against her head. “Now please be quiet, my head feels as if it had an axe driven through it...”

“After what you did last night I’m not surprised.” Troy replies using a knife pick his fingernails.

“That’s... Um... Wow...” Lita says writing this down her notes. “Even with that bit of information, this is sure to make an excellent story! The Wrath of the Black Flame Hunter! The unstoppable Super Zombie! What is it’s motive!?”

“Glad I could be of some help.” you say, glad that she’s off your back for the time being, now giving you some time to think for yourself. You have pretty much the entire day free, so you’re free to do as you please.
>>
>>28041226
Lets hang out with Stacy and Katlin. Its been to long since we've hung out with them. Also, we need to ask Amanda if she can make us some armor or something. We could probably use some sort of edge over Dragur Brooklyn.
>>
>>28041324
Lets add reading whichever books we checked out onto that. And going somewhere to replenish our aether. Maybe look into the Aryians to possibly approach later.
>>
[1/3]

“It has been a pleasure talking to you two ladies, but I’d best attend to other matters for the day now.” you say excusing yourself from the reports.

“Yes! Thank you very much for the information!” Lita replies as she sits back up. “Aria! Come on! We’re leaving! Take as much food as you can with you!”

“...Huh? Wa?” Aria asks as she looks around all confused.

Deciding that its best to have some sort of edge over Brooklyn Draugr in case he appears again, you decide that it’s best to have some sort of protection against him. All of his attacks were horrifically lethal. Master of darkness or no, if those darkness beams he shot out at you actually hit, then it’d certainly hurt. A lot. You need to fix this, and thankfully you know someone whose speciality is making armours.

You head down the hallway over to Amanda’s room, giving a knock on the door. “Amanda, are you awake? We need to talk.”

“I’m awake, you can come in.” Amanda replies to you.

As you push open the door, you expect to enter a world of madness like before, but instead what greets you is the same sight as your own room. Bits of paper can be seen nailed into the wall, with only a few of them having mathematical formulas that cause you physical pain just by looking at them. Amanda herself is busy drawing some blueprint on the wall.

“What are you designing?” you ask.

“A bathhouse and water storage facility. The bath houses in Old TO are horrific quality. You’d think they’d have more people to help clean up when they got people who can literally turn aether into water, but no. All we got is the same crusty and messy bath houses all over the area. No social experiences! No chatting with friends! No class at all! Just something to appeal to the lowest common denominator!” Amanda says as she continues her blueprints.
>>
[2/3]

“And you’re not going to make it a shelter against city buster spells accidently?” you ask Amanda.

“The Socialite training is paying off in a way that I already caught myself making three superscience mistakes.” Amanda replies as she stops for a second and crosses something out. “...Make that four. Do you require anything Brooklyn?”

“Yes. After the encounters, I’d prefer not to be caught with my pants down again. Seeing as how you’re an expert in armour and defenses, I thought you may have a plan in this.” you ask Amanda.

“First thing is making sure he doesn’t find us like last time again. I’m working on that problem, but I’ve already created a device that should block scrying attempts against us so long as we’re in the building.” Amanda replies.

“...Will it blow up?” you ask.

“No idea. But you either take the anti-scrying device and risk it blowing up or have your male self find us and tear apart the building himself.” Amanda replies.

“Touche.” you reply. “But what about armours, do you have anything in mind?”

“Several designs actually. However the problem is which one to design.” Amanda replies.

“Are they mutually exclusive?” you ask.

Amanda shakes her head as she continues to work on the bath house diagram. “No they’re not, however they do sacrifice performance in other areas for their function. For example I could make a form of Ablative armour that absorbs only light based attacks, but if I made Ablative armour that absorbed everything it wouldn’t have as much durability as the one that only absorbed light armour.”
>>
[3/3]

“And the problem is that bastard has all my techniques...” you mutter.

“Exactly. Assuming if Brooklyn Draugr doesn’t know about the armour, then the armour may save you from a hit at the very least. There are several designs I’m working with right now. First is an ablative type of armour which is rather strong, but will get weaker as it takes more damage. Second is a type of armour geared towards resisting a certain element or type of attack. Last is just normal... well as close as you can get to me producing normal armour which should reduce any sort of blow coming at you.” Amanda replies. “I can either make physical armour which will protect you at all times, or a force field that can protect your entire body when activated for a small cost of aether from you. Also, I think I could boost your own powers as well.”

“Boost my powers?” you ask.

“Yes.” Amanda says putting down her quill before heading over to a box, pulling out what appears to be gauntlets laced with what appears to be charcoal lines in them. “These are the prototypes I’ve yet to configure. I could make the option for a small power up to all your attacks, a bigger boost to ones of a certain element, or a major boost to a single element. The latter would most certainly burn out the device after use however, and I’ve yet to find a way around that.” Amanda replies warning you.
>>
>>28041922
Ablative nonspecific and Light boost.
>>
>>28041978
armor specifically.
>>
>>28041922
Big boost to Shadow/Light
Ablative nonspecific
>>
>>28042026

Specifically to what?
>>
>>28042051
I meant physical armor instead of a force field.
>>
“Let’s see if you can give me some pure ablative armour and see if you can make something to boost my light magic.” you ask passing the gauntlets back to Amanda after you’ve had a look at them.

“I’ll see what I can do. The armour should be able to fit over your current leather suit, but be warned that it’s only meant to deflect glancing blows. Taking a full on shot from a monster like that will most likely incinerate all the ablative armour in a single shot.” Amanda warns.

“How long will it take?” you ask.

“I still need to unpack my tools and rent a workshop, so a few days at most.” Amanda replies. “Same goes for the scrying jammer.”

“I hope that bastard doesn’t revive in the meantime...” you mutter.

“That is a factor, but don’t you have a large, private library that only Okarians can enter anyways?” Amanda asks.

Hm... There is that yes. Also your study buddy Madison, she’d surely have some sort of insight about this matter too.
>>
>>28042359
How about a boost to light and dark magic? Best to make sure that it won't burn out, vs. Just pure light magic.

Another thing we might want to do is apologize to Arum about the double whammy of Lamia and then the draugr.
>>
>>28042359
Lets set up a meeting with the twins later today, then head to the library.
>>28042449
We already made our choice on the boost thing I think.
>>
>>28042359
Make sure to give her a hug and a kiss for thanks. then set up some dinner with the twins then go to the library.
>>
[1/2]

“Thanks Amanda, I mean it.” you say giving her a hug. “I’m sure that your family would be happy knowing that your inventions are helping people.”

Amanda returns the hug. “You’d be surprised. The living members really only care about profit.”

“Good thing that you got a good head on your shoulders then.” you say to Amanda releasing the hug. “Anyways I’ll be off for now. Good luck in your bath house!”

“Bath house is the easy part. Hard parts will be making the spring and location...” Amanda mutters to herself as she goes back to blueprints.

******

After getting cleaned up for the day, you decide to call out the twins to this one tea house they’ve been curious about for some time. You decided to go on ahead and get the seat prepared for them. Sure enough it is a rather fancy teahouse, far fancier and larger than those in Fort Hope. Having nearly three floors, every bit of them lined with tasteful decor and seats. Even looking over the drink menu, you can see they have a large selection of beer, tea, coffee, and other drinks in both cheap and deluxe versions. You could indeed very well come to like it here.

“Ah, there you are Brooklyn!” Stacy says behind you.

“Ah yes there you are girls! I took the liberty of finding us a good seat overlooking the foyer.” you say gesturing to the floors down below.

“The view definitely makes up for us having trouble finding out.” Katlin replies as she takes off her coat.
>>
[2/2]

“In a place this big, I understand all too well.” you reply. “Anyways, what have you girls been up to lately?”

“Aside f- actually hold that thought Brooklyn, we have a waitress coming to take our order now.” Stacy says noticing the waitress coming.

“Hello and Welcome to the Grand Royale Teahouse, I’ll be yo Brooklyn!?” Excel’s voice calls out next to you.

“Excel!?” you say making a slight gasp as you see Excel, your sister, next to you all dressed up in a french maid uniform. “What are you doing here!?”

“I work here dumbass! What are you doing here!?” Excel asks with her hands on her hips, before she notices the twins. “...And who are these girls?”

“...Yes Brooklyn. Who’s this girl who knows you so well?” Katlin replies, you can almost feel the heat of jealousy on her voice.

...Does some sort of higher power gain amusement in seeing me in situations like these?
>>
>>28043147
Girls, this is Excel, my sister. Excel, this is Stacy and Katlin, students of mine.

indeed, though if further reasoning is required;

"Even though circumstances change, but profession does not. There has been, and will always be young minds in need of a guiding hand..."
>>
"Katlin, Stacy, this is Excel, my sister. Excel, this is Stacy and Katlin my students." you say quickly introducing the girls.

“Oh so this is the sister that you mentioned to us before?” Katlin asks.

“That’s right.” you reply.

“Students huh?” Excel asks lifting her eyebrow at you. As you look at her you can only think about how eerie it is in how much she looks like a younger female version of yourself. Appearing that young is certainly within the mother’s side of your family. “Why didn’t I hear about them sooner?”

“Because yesterday I was in the same bar as that Black Flame Hunter bastard and was nearly killed in the brawl.” you reply to her.

“YOU WHAT!? You jerk!” Excel says hitting you over the head lightly with the leather bound menu. “Why didn’t you come directly to us after such a thing! You’re lucky to be alive right now!”

“Don’t we know it...” Katlin mutters under her breath a sigh of relief.

“Excel dear, is anything wrong?” a woman behind Excel asks. As you look, you can see it’s a more mature woman with large wings and horns.
>>
>>28043391
"No everything is fine. May I have the [insert tea here]"
>>
>>28043504
Make sure to also give Excel a look that says we'll talk later.
>>
[1/2]

“No, everything is fine here. We’ll start off with the standard Earl Grey if you don’t mind.” you say passing Excel a menu, giving her a ‘we’ll talk about this later’ look.

“Very well! No need to say how you want as it as I already know ‘Ma’am’.” Excel says putting emphasis on the last word.

Katlin then notices a sign for brownies on the table. “Oh can I have some brownies p-”

Excel just seems to glare at her out of the corner of my eye.

“...On second thought I’m watching my diet.” she then sheepishly replies.

As Excel walks away, Stacy speaks up. “Sister or not, she is a bit a bitch Brooklyn.”

“Yea Excel always had a thing for trying to prove herself, especially to the other kids growing up. God help you if she gets her hands on a scythe.” you reply.

“A scythe? A peasant weapon?” Katlin asks.

“Yea. It was one of the only things that was freely available.” you reply.

“How about why Fort Hope has scythe’s in a land which has perpetual winter.” Stacy replies.

“She worked for a bit in the Fort Hope Greenhouse. I always hated that place because their vegetables taste like garbage and don’t even have the volume to keep up with a tenth of the town.” you reply. “They keep all sorts of harvesting instruments there though.”

“But a scythe? That’s a terrible weapon!” Katlin then adds.
>>
[2/2]

“Brodin doesn’t seem to mind. Plus it has a strong symbolic account.” you reply.

“If your sister has temper issues, why isn’t she working for one of the many mercenary companies in Fort Hope?” Stacy asks.

“Mom said to Excel shortly before she died that if Excel was going to fight and die for something, she wanted it to be something she truly believed in and not just mere money.” you reply.

“Wise words.” Stacy replies. “Our father said the same thing to Katlin.”

While you’re waiting for your tea, you wonder what to ask the twins in the meantime.
>>
>>28043391
"Ah, apologies for making a scene. I am Excel's older sibling. I didn't know she worked here. I was just making introductions."
>>
>>28043888
chat about how they are dealing with everything. Also, tease Katlin about how she reacted to Excel initially.
>>
>>28043888
If I remember before being interrupted we were talking about what you were doing since we arrived, I'm sorry I'm not present more often but I have a lot on my plate and I need to build a contact network.
>>
>>28043888

Well, start of by making general inquiries into how the business is going, then move on to whether they have any plans, either long or short term, for it... see if their partnership with Amanda is proving as beneficial as both parties initially suspected...

>>28043956
this is good too.....
>>
“If I remember before being interrupted we were talking about what you were doing since we arrived, I'm sorry I'm not present more often but I have a lot on my plate and I need to build a contact network.” you say in apology to the twins.

“But of course Brooklyn, we understand completely. In fact after yesterday Katlin and I were hoping for a bit of fresh air ourselves.” Stacy replies.

“You’re scared of him, no need to hide it. Hell I’m scared of it myself.” you reply to the twins.

“Stacy also tends to get a bit jumpy when things like combat are involved.” Katlin replies.

“That’s because it is dirty and violent!” Stacy replies.

“There’s nothing wrong with either of those.” Katlin replies.

“And you wonder why I refuse to call you a true lady at times.” Stacy says with a large sigh while rubbing her forehead.

“Is the business going well at least?” you ask.

“Oh the business is going wonderfully.” Stacy says with a slight bit of rapture in her voice. “We’re able to see what the exact emotions of our clients are, which is a huge step in the right direction if you know how to use it.”

“Amanda’s proven to be a big boon to us as well. For the moment she’s able to supply quite a bit of water. If her designs manage to eventually pan out, we can make a very nice business out of selling custom items on the side as well.” Katlin replies.

“...Some more legal than others.” Stacy then adds.
>>
>>28044184
"As long as its mostly ethical I'm okay with it. I've been known to bend a few laws myself." Then I suppose we can lightly tease Katlin about her earlier jealousy.
>>
>>28044249
agreed. I wonder if she's going to be like that with every female we've ever met?
>>
>>28044346
The pair have been working with Amanda for long enough that they've probably had a "talk"
>>
Seriously though why is Excel such a cool name, is it my inner edgy-faggotry wanting to be Squall or something?
>>
>>28044474
I think its because you like spreadsheets
>>
"As long as its mostly ethical I'm okay with it. I've been known to bend a few laws myself." you reply to the girls. “And what’s wrong Katlin? Were you jealous of my sister earlier?”

“Considering that you neglected to tell us of a big secret earlier?” Katlin asks.

“Oh Katlin please, we’ve been over this.” Stacy says with a sigh. “Fort Hope is not Old TO. Succubi are only allowed to be in certain cities on Earth, and Old TO is one of them, Fort Hope is not.”

“Doesn’t mean I still can’t be sour about it.” Katlin says with a nod.

“Forgive my sister Brooklyn. She’s been one to hold grudges, no matter how small.” Stacy asks.

“I can see where Katlin is coming from to a certain extent, so don’t worry about that.” you reply.

Just as you finish, you can see Excel wheeling a tray over to you with a pot of tea, glasses, cubed sugar, and some milk. She pours a cup of tea before passing it over to you.

“Sugar Lady Browning?” Excel asks.

...Odd. She should know how you like it. “No thanks, I like to t-”

“Oh no, I insist.” Excel says taking two sugar cubes in her gloved hand before crushing the sugar cubes in her hand, before letting the fine sugar into your glass after.

Katlin can only wince after seeing such a display, with Stacy still staring wide eyed in response as well.

“Great, now it’s going to be too sweet.” you say taking your cup of tea. “Glad to see that you perfected that trick though Excel.”

“Is she... Going to be like this around every female friend of yours Brooklyn?” Stacy asks.

“No.” “Yes.” You and Excel reply at the exact same time in unison (in that order).
>>
>>28044605
Okay, I'm really not following what is with with our sister, someone mind helping me out in plain English please?
>>
>>28044712
So, we randomly turned into a girl that is hotter then her and we are flush as fuck with cash.

She's competitive and jealous as fuck of this.

"I can't wait to see you try that with Kali."
>>28044712
she's being a passive aggressive bitch.
>>
>>28044605
>“No.” “Yes.” You and Excel reply at the exact same time in unison (in that order).
While we're at it want to meet all the other member of my "harem" after your shift?
>>
>>28044884
Replace harem with class, and that works perfectly. Excel shall know the implications perfectly (and will most likely get back at Brooklyn by stealing more innocence).
>>
>>28044913
How? The only ones that aren't already ours are either devoted to their boyfriend or celibate until marriage, or ours.
>>
>>28044884

no.
>>
“I can’t wait to see you try that with someone like Nalika then.” you reply to Excel.

“You mean that Wrath Demon who almost constantly carries all those books with her?” Stacy asks.

“What!? You’ve infected a Wrath Demon with your bookwormishness!?” Excel asks you.

“To be fair she was like that long before I even got to her.” you reply.

“And you often wondered why you had trouble getting dates when you were inside reading books all the time.” Excel says while pouring a cup of tea for Stacy and Katlin.

Her words seem to rip directly through her heart just like a crossbow bolt. Your pride... The embarrassing secrets about your past that you didn’t want other women to know... especially those you’re taking a dinner with right now...

(Was iffy about putting the class introduction thing until I can see more votes in tune for it)
>>
>>28045002
Force down that embarrassing aspect of yourself and kill it. Respond easily "And you never got any dates because you always decked any male that expressed interest in you."
>>
>>28045002

At this point in time, I feel that revealing our 'class' to Excel is not the best move... maybe at a later date once certain issues are resolved; but for now, ignorance is bliss...

>>28045048
nice comeback, though I somehow feel that we should not encourage her... at least while she is at work...

>>28045142
I agree. Heavy snarking, because she's our sister. Heavy tipping too, because she's our sister.
>>
>>28045190
That and we have a reputation to maintain around the twins. Plus, our whole character arc is Brooklyn becoming more confident in himself as time goes by.
>>
Alright... That was old Brooklyn. He’s gone now. You’re new Brooklyn. Next time you see Old Brooklyn the first thing you’re going to do is drive a darkness spike as hard as you can through his head before he slams that halberd into your skull.

"And you never got any dates because you always decked any male that expressed interest in you." you smoothly reply as you sip your tea.

“I was protecting my Maidenhood!” Excel roars back at you. You’re surprised that she hasn’t spilled any of the tea in the process.

“Excel you’re like... 20 now. Most girls get married at 15 or 16 these days. You’re way behind on that aspect.” you lecture her.

“Which means you’re even later than me.” Excel says with a smirk.

...Yea you walked right into that one.

“Women in speciality positions within nobility or mercantile interests tend to marry a bit later anyways.” you say pulling a random fact from out of your ass.

“Hmph! Very well! Keep saying that! It doesn’t surprise me that this is coming from the person who still believes in Santa and the Easter Bunny!” Excel replies as she wheels away the cart.

“But he is real!” you yell back at her as she walks away before the twins, who now have what appears to be a concerned look on their faces.
>>
>>28045337
so tea yes tea is good girls do you have anything to tea about while we are here?
>>
>>28045337
"Magic is real. I don't see why Santa can't be real."
>>
>>28045337

"I would be surprised if you two never had little spats like that before..."
>>
>>28045415

Brooklyn knows Santa isn't real due to having his innocence shattered earlier.

The Easter Bunny however...

>>
"I would be surprised if you two never had little spats like that before..." you tell the twins turning back.

“...Oh! Oh but of course we have spats all the time!” Katlin replies.

“I’m just surprised she started something like this in her own workplace is all.” Stacy says sipping her tea. “The tea here is quite good too.”

It’d be better if someone didn’t crush two sugar cubes into your drink.

(Anything else you wish to say or mention to the twins, or should we skip to what Brooklyn does after lunch. Please say what you do if you pick this option)
>>
>>28045659
Some light flirting. The objective of this is to soften them up so we can finally get them into bed after all.
>>
>>28045684
That is what we originally came here to do.
>>
>>28045659
You know, it's been a while since we had fun time with one of the girls. And we did have quite stressful time recently.
So yea work with this. >>28045684
>>
Can we get a load of dirt/assorted rocks, and gravity them so hard around evil zombie Brooklyn that we leave it alive and trapped in diamond?
>>
“So with the family matters out of the way... How about we continue from where we left off?” you ask the twins while carefully sipping your tea.

“Oh? And where would that be?” Katlin asks as she sips her tea in return.

“Mainly our little adventures so far. I may have told some lies as Miranda about past stories, but the actual stories of what’s happening to me so far are far more interesting are they not?” you ask with a smile as you swirl your tea.

“Oh... I’m not sure you can top the tale of that temple.” Stacy replies with a smile

“Oh... You wound me.” you say with a fake pained voice. “And here I thought ripping the head off of a rampaging robot would be better than that old tale.”

Stacy gives a small chuckle. “OK then, up there at the very least.”

******

For the next hour and a half, everything with the twins goes very smoothly and was overall a very pleasant dinner date, filled with some rather cheery small talk compared to the disaster you dragged them through that was yesterday. ...God that day was horrible. First the Miyian gang then Brooklyn Draugr. Seeing as how Katlin is still a bit leery, you didn’t do anything physical this session, but the words enough did bring you back more into the light for her at least. Stacy was right about her grudge not holding much weight, so definite progress was made. The twins had to quickly leave due to the time, being almost late for a meeting of their own. Relaxing back in the comfortable booth, you simply sip the sugarless tea.

“Students huh?” Excel asks as she puts the bill on the table.

(This update took a long time as, I admit, I’m neutron star density when it comes to flirting. Anyone want to say something back to Excel before saying what to do next in the day?)

Joined by two more merchants, a mercenary and recently a Wrath Demon... Thinking about it, ever since the accident, my life has become like something out of one of those old world novels..." you say as you recall your life so far.

“But the protagonist is male in those.” Excel replies as she begins to clear away the table.

“Not all of them.” you say with a smile. “By the way, how did you end up getting a job here?”

“Just a help wanted ad in the town bulletin board. Since our family has experience with tea I was shot upwards on the list even though I’m human.” Excel replies.

“That much of a benefit?” you ask.

“Yes, because I can actually recommend teas compared to the other co-workers ‘suggesting’ teas to others.” Excel replies.

“They’re all like that?” you ask.

“Just the ones I dislike.” Excel replies.

“You didn’t answer the question.” you reply. Excel likes to misdirect things like that in half truths.

“Do you like the job?” you ask.

“I’m not that used to wearing indoor dresses.” Excel replies. “I feel cold nearly all the time.”

“I miss non-armour pants.” you then reply as well. Stupid job requirements.

“You better not skimp on the tip.” Excel warns you.

“You’re lucky that I tip you at all.” you mutter under your breath.

“What was that?” Excel asks.

“I said you’re lucky that I’m going to leave a generous tip.” you swiftly reply.

Excel will most likely need to get back to work now, so you wonder what you should say as a parting word before doing your next activity for the day.

“If you ever want to join the Langy Family Guard, just let me know.” you say offering Excel.

“Thank you for the offer Brooklyn, but you know my stance on that.” Excel replies.

“Yea. You don’t like protecting people that are ‘scum’. I understand. I just hope you find something worth fighting for sometime.” you reply to Excel. “Beside, it’s the sentiment that counts.”

“I know. Thank you for the offer anyways Brooklyn.” Excel says taking your empty teacup away.

“You could also get a job at singing with that voice of yours too.” you comment.

“Instead of Greeting, say hello to by blades~” Excel says reciting the line of a song as she wheels the cart away.

“That’s a new one.” you say leaving three gold coins on the table before getting up. This should easily pay for the tea several times over, certainly a generous tip, before you grab your hat and walk away from the table.

Actually, we might want to think about wrapping things up here and heading out. We did what we came here for, and it looks like the best way to kill dead-me is to kill the guy that made him. Since you are free now, you best want to spend your time trying to figure out how to kill that persistent asshole that is Brooklyn-Draugr. You need to find out a way to permanently kill him for good. The last thing you need is a scaling thorn in your side when you’re probably going to be getting many more thorns just by the sheer virtue of booting the Pride Demons off of Earth. You remember that one of the members in your reading group is an experienced ex-necromancer. It’d probably be best to ask her for some advice before heading into the black hole that is the library.

******

You head on over to the address that Madison gave you for her store. It’s easy enough to see that you’ve entered what must be the Okarian territory in the turf wars, blatantly easy to see some Succubi openly walking the street with complete stoic expressions on their face. They must either buy that you’re an Okarian or not care, as the most you get are a few stares but otherwise they leave you be.

It’s easy to find Madison’s shop with a hanging signpost of “Mad Maddy’s Magical Supply Shoppe” hanging down from the side of the shop. Upon entering it, your sense of smell is immediately assaulted from nearly all of the fancy herbs and other ingredients that are on sale in the area, all lined up properly and in order. The shop is rather small and claustrophobic, to the point where you’re afraid of your dress knocking things down on the lower shelves.

“Welcome to Mad Maddy’s Magical supply shoppe, how can I h- Surprise, oh hello Brooklyn. What a pleasant surprise to see you here.” Madison says putting down the book she was reading to turn and face you, dressed in the same purple dress that she was in at the study group meeting. “Inquiry, are you looking for anything in particular.”
>>
>>28053071
Tell her we're looking for advice on how to permanently kill a rather persistent undead. Our Reaper friend can only suggest killing the creator, but that being is hiding from my sight. So You were the only other person I know who might know another way to kill him.
>>
>>28053169
more or less yeah. Maybe speak to her in private, but that's generally what we're looking for.
>>
[1/2]

“I’m looking for more information rather than actual supplies at the moment. I want to know how to kill a particular sort of undead.” you ask.

“What kind. Undead exist in many places around the world, with each of them having their own specific behaviors, patterns, and exorcism rituals.” Madison replies.

“It’s mainly for my job. I need to know to kill that Black Flame Hunter figure.” you tell Madison.

“Inquiry, do you know what kind of zombie this Black Hunter is.” Madison asks.

“It’s a Draugr.” you reply.

The next few seconds tick by in awkward silence as Madison just stares at you, but thanks to the Okarian poker face you’re not able to tell what her emotion is at this moment.

“Come again.” she asks after the silence.

“I need to know how to kill a Draugr. I figured someone like you would know what a Draugr is.” you reply.

“Y-yes I know what a Draugr is, but that’s not the point. Those are some of the strongest and most dangerous undead types there is. My honest advice would just be to stay out of that thing’s way while going straight for the neck of the owner of the Draugr. If the owner dies, then the Draugr reincarnation feature will be nullified.” Madison replies you.

“I don’t know the owner though. I tried a Question Fate ritual and got nothing on where the owner is.” you reply.

“The only other ways I can think of then is to try and perform a spirit slaying spell the very moment at one of it’s deaths and pray whoever is doing the spirit slaying spell is stronger than whoever is controlling it. This can vary wildly depending on who the master is.” Madison replies.
>>
[2/2]

“Would trapping it work?” you ask.

Madison shakes her head. “It’s been tried. If you try something like burying it under a large pile of rubble which it cannot move, the owner can send a suicide command to the body, terminating it, which would then cause it to reincarnate normally somewhere else. The only other piece of advice I can offer is that the reincarnation site must have some piece of significance to the Draugr. Destroying this site would prevent normal undead from coming back at all, but a Draugr will then reincarnate randomly somewhere else in the Realm’s or probably close to whatever its master is. Don’t try getting it to talk on that issue either. Draugr’s don’t talk and are pretty much immune to torture.”

“Can the link be cut?” you ask.

Madison shakes her head again. “Its akin to the same link the Gemelli share. It can be jammed, but never outright cut.”

“Is there ANY way a favor can be tipped against those who fight it?!” you ask, sounding desperate at this point.

“All Draugr have some sort of wrapping around their eyes. This is because they have a hard time seeing into the land of the living. Removing this wrapping will disorient it for a brief period, as they won’t be able to tell the living apart from one another without it. At least for sight based activities, the other senses function normally.” Madison replies. “Inquiry, are you certain this is a Draugr. It takes a lot to make one of those.”
>>
>>28053507
Describe the draugr special feature to her, then tell her about the Aryan mind reading only showing it want to kill us. Complain about having the worst luck.

>It has a reincarnation site.
We simply find it and make sure there is no way it can escape from the reincarnation site. Like, a giant metal box.
We're fine until some bumpkin accidentally awakens an ancient evil.
>>
Great... You must have some of the worst luck in the world.

"Yes, I got the best expert's opinion on it and saw it first hand myself just yesterday, it clearly had a red one-eye wrapping around its eyes." you reply to Madison. “It’s certainly a Draugr.”

“Encouragement, look on the bright side Brooklyn. At least it isn’t after you.” Madison says. “Draugr are intelligent, but tend to be mono-focused. So long as you remain out of it’s way for whatever task it’s master has given it, you’ll be fine.”

...Hahahaha... If only that were true.

“You could prepare a proper extended spell to try and seal it, use some reagents, or even both.” Madison replies.

“That makes a difference?” you ask.

“About as much of a difference you use a hammer to pound a nail into a slot compared to a rock. In terms of being an Okarian, I’m technically what they’d call a Wizard. Wizards often like stability over their spells, so we often use extended spellcasting or reagents with our spells for greater effects.” Madison replies. “I figured you were wondering what that term meant since you are ignorant of Okarian culture, and the term has a slightly different meaning than it does with enlightened humans.”
>>
>>28053667
Thank her, then if we don't have any further suggestions we can leave.
>>
>>28053667
Thank her, buy some supply to replenish what we used since we arrived and either visit the church or find some more info about the Ayarian, it's time to court a new faction.
>>
>>28053760
Ayarian first. The other option is too dangerous at this stage.
>>
>>28053793
I mean the church of pamille, not the one that hire adventurers. Unless the aide in charge is broken to a pride demon it's likely the safest bet.
>>
>>28053808
We were outright told it was the most dangerous option because of her religion. Apparently her inclination will be to push things to a head quickly, which is the opposite of what we want.
>>
“Thank you very much for your advice Madison.” you say giving heartfelt thanks.

“No problem at all.” Madison replies.

“...Come to think of it I’m low on chalk and candles. Got anything for that?” you ask her.

“Any specific candle or chalk?” she asks.

“Na, any normal candle or chalk will do.” you reply.

“Third isle is nothing but chalk, candles, and other basic spellcasting components.” Madison replies.
“Thanks.” you say heading over to the isle. Madison wasn’t kidding. Candles that are scented, ear wax candles (Ew), candles that have things like bat wings ground into them, wickless candles, and also normal candles in nearly every colour you can imagine.

After getting your stock of candles restocked, you head out of the shop and begin to ponder your next move of the day.

(There seems to be a small debate right now, so I'm letting people vote on which option they want to do)

>>28053826
The problem with the Ayarians is that we're likely going to be an open book too.
>>
>>28053833
I'm voting either for looking into the Aryians or working to ensure our Succubi village project is ready to go eventually. Turning ourselves into the leader of that project is a very important step.
>>
What would happen if a Draugr was sent after a Lich and neither of them can kill each other.
>>
>>28053860
A fair point, but if the Aides kick things off too soon, not only will we be much more likely to fail, we won't have time to secure our personal position, and will likely not end up where we want to be.
>>
>>28053892
It's not necessary to use the queen card right aways, just seeking the church support for the "succubus village" would help us establish a friendly relationship and make things easier
>>
>>28053912
But if we don't play the queen card it will be harder to end up in charge of the village. Since we both disagree, how about we look into the Belkerains instead?

Given that the Aide vs Ayarian debate seemed to be tied, I'll be going with this.

You decide that it’s best to see if you can now get the Belkarians under your flag, which means trying to see Fredika Zombolt and get her to your side. You know nothing about this person, but thankfully you know nearly three people who are in the Fighter’s Guild, so they’re bound to know something at least. Knowing this, you decide to head back to your home and ask these people for some advice.

******

After getting Wilhelmina from the main upstairs, you head downstairs to the courtyard where Mina and Alex are what appears to be sparring. Mina is deliberately slowing down her punches while Alex appears to be parrying them. Alex isn’t even wearing his black armour, rather is just casually dressed in normal winters clothing.

“What are you guys doing?” you ask Mina and Alex.

“Madame Mina as requested my assistance in her training. She fears that her right arm is still not back up to proper levels after it has regenerated.” Alex says without missing a beat.

Mina takes a few more punches before she looks at her open hand. She makes what appears to be a blur of rapid movements with her hands before clutching it shut. “Yea. I say I’m about 85% back to full power in my right hand. I should be back up to full in a month.”

“This is a cause for concern?” you ask Mina.
>>
[2/2]

“Na! Using 100% for anything but brief moments is very dangerous, so 85% is just fine!” Mina chirps in response to you with a smile, her Succubus traits out.

“NO! GET AWAY!” Nalika seems to yell as she runs out of the house.

“Oh come on dear, is that any way to talk to your long lost mother?” Another older woman replies coming out of apartment building, this one being a Wrath Demon with eight arms.

“One of the reasons I left was to specifically get away from you!” Nalika says throwing a few snowballs at the woman.

“...What did I miss?” you ask Alex and Mina.

“That madame showed up while you were out, claiming to be the mother of Nalika. She seemed harmless, so we decided to leave her be.” Alex replies.

“You left her be because she’s drop dead beautiful and you know it.” Mina says with a smile.
>>
>>28054341
...Well. I suppose we should introduce ourselves?
>>
>>28054393
sure
>>
“I might as well go introduce myself then.” you say as you walk off towards Nalika and her mother.

Nalika’s mother appears to be a more mature woman, but still one that has retained all of her beauty and succumbed to the ravages of age. Her clothing appears to be a purple robe belonging to those of Indian heritage with an orange sash going across down her body. Long red hair appears to be tied up in a ponytail behind her. Her Demonic Resistance must be at a decent level, as the clothes appear to only be made of silk but she doesn’t appear to be phased by the weather at all. Her skin is a bit darker than Nalika’s own, but still not as dark as Mina’s.

“Come on Nalika dear, surely you don’t hold your mother in that much contempt.” Nalika’s mother says walks towards Nalika with all four pairs of arms wide open.

“I told you I didn’t want to go to that damn camp, yet you sent me anyways!” Nalika says throwing another two snowballs at her.

Nalika’s mother doesn’t seem seem to flinch as the snowballs impact her. “Come on dear, you know of my stance on Gullie’s dojo. I wanted you to have a practical education.”

“Am I interrupting anything here?” you ask the two women.

“Yes!” Nalika immediately spits out.

“You should watch that temper dear.” Nalika’s mother says using a hand to waggle a finger at her.

“LIKE YOU’RE ONE TO TALK!” Nalika says throwing another snowball at her mother’s head.

Nalika’s mother ignores the snowball that hits the side of her head, the rock inside of it tapping on her shoulder before falling down on the ground, but still smiling at you despite all of this. “No, nothing in particular. Who may you be young lady?”

“My name is Brooklyn Browning. I’m the teacher that’s currently teaching your daughter.” you reply.

“Oh? Teaching what might I ask?” Nalika’s mother replies, a hand now tapping the side of her cheek.

“Philosophy, currently. She has a decent background in the understanding of why to do something, but I believe I can help temper her arguments in several ways, and I hope she can end up helping me learn more as well."

“Philosophy hm?” Nalika’s mother replies.

“I seek deeper answers to questions in life than just punching someone repeatedly in the face.” Nalika says walking up to her mother.

“...If you’re seeking answers, then you probably won’t find them there dear.” Nalika’s mother says before a light goes off in her head. “Oh pardon my manners! I forgot to introduce myself. You may call me Shiva.”

“Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Shiva. You may be right on that account, but it certainly does help to enrich one’s life I find.” you reply to Shiva.

“That indeed is true. I’ve always liked the more simple philosophies over the more complex ones. I’m fine with you teaching my daughter some more intellectual pursuits if that is what she fancies.” Shiva says, before seeming to give a shrug. “Even though I told her she does have a gift for battle.”

“We’ve been over this. ...Wait a second, what is your aim here?” Nalika asks her mother, glaring at her our of the corner of her glasses.

“Brooklyn was about to take us over to the Fighter’s Guild.” Wilhelmina replies.

“Oh that sounds lovely! I haven’t been to the Fighter’s Guild in the area yet, I’d love to go and have a look for myself~” Shiva says using all eight of her hands to make a clap of happiness.

Nalika only seems to look upon her mother’s expression with one of which is pure horror, jaw agap and eyes wide.

>“Brooklyn was about to take us over to the Fighter’s Guild.”
I read that as take over initially. Anyway, see if we can make up some excuse for Nalika, if she wants one. Anyone have any good ideas?
>>
>>28055119
...I'll take that as a no...
>>
>>28055067
We could pull aside Nalika and tell her that taking her mother with her and appeasing her with the fighters guild her mother would leaver her alone more often and stop trying to make her more 'Wrath demony' leaving her more time for her intellectual persuits.

“Can you excuse us for a second?” you ask Shiva as you walk over to Wilhelmina.

“Take your time.” Shiva replies as she waits.

You take one of Nalika’s hands, taking her a bit out of the ways before leaning and whispering to her. “Look on the bright side Nalika, by taking your mother to Fighter’s Guild, you’d get people stop trying to pester you to act more like a Wrath Demon.”

“What!? No! Now that’s not what mother is going to do at all!” Nalika replies. “She’s... Fine. Let’s just go. We’re not going to shake her until she’s suitably amused anyways.”

“That’s the spirit!” you say patting her on the back before heading back over to the others. “So guys, do you know where we’d be able to find Fredika Zombolt?”

“No idea.” Mina and Alex reply.

“What? Doesn’t she run the Fighter’s Guild?” you ask.

“She’s a mercenary, so she goes where the money takes her. In all honesty you won’t find her within the Fighter’s Guild or doing Administrative work for the Belkarians because she’s always so depressed.” Welhelmina explains.

“Ah yes... The Belkarian flaw I’ve so often heard about.” Shiva replies.

“Well is there any place we start looking at least?” you ask the group.

“Fighters Guild is just as good as any. She may or may not be there, but we’ll be able to at least find someone who does know at the very least.” Nalika replies.

“Good. Because I was hoping to get a chance to talk to Fredika about something important. Let’s hope that she’s there at least.” you say as you begin to head off to the Fighter’s Guild.

Heading into the area of town which is the Fighter’s Guild, you can see that it appears to be a large well constructed Old World building, a stadium of sorts. The Dwarf and Succubus in plate armour allow you all to pass and head into the building itself, which currently has a few weapons and tapestries on display.

“I’m surprised they let us in so easily.” you comment.

“Unlike the Okarian library, the Fighter’s Guild is quite open.” Wilhelmina replies.

“...And the Pride Demon’s don’t even care there are Enlightened mortals here?” you ask.

“The Fighter’s Guild has many connections, powerful ones. While enlightened mortals may have difficulty outside of Old TO, being a member in Old TO means you’re allowed to roam the streets and even do work without getting into legal trouble.” Alex replies.

“Thanks to major contributions from the Wrath demons. See Nalika, you can have some pride in your race.” Shiva replies.

“When we stop thinking the pinnacle of intellect is punching someone in the face is when I’ll have cause to celebrate.” Nalika replies as she continues to walk with all of her arms crossed.

As you enter the stadium arena proper, what you can see before you is a large indoor field filled with sparring rings as far as the eye can see. While many people seem to spar in the rings nearby, a few others on the far end of the stadium are getting lessons on how to handle the axe. At least you think, the distance is so far that you have trouble seeing. The old world seats seem to have been torn up in some places for baffling amount of exercise equipment and training dummies on uneven footing. All while the smell of pine covers up the scent of sweat in the area.

“Any idea where we should start first?” you ask Mina, Alex, and Wilhelmina.

“Starting with those knights who are close to Fredika of course!” Mina replies.

“Non. If nothing has changed, then the politics should be just as vicious as before in terms of Belkarians wanting to gain Fredika’s spot.” Alex replies.

“I’m impressed a human is attuned to Succubi politics.” Welhelmina replies to Alex.

“It was very hard to miss, even when I was training here. We could start by exploring some of these rings for one of the top knights or just head up to the Administration Office above.” Alex points to a large glass booth high above the stadium floor.

“...And they’ll let us in?” you ask.

“Probably probably not, but at the very least we’ll be able to find Fredika’s location.” Alex replies.

“You hear that Nali-”

“Oh wow! We’ve been waiting for a Wrath Demon to show up all day!” An elf says behind you.

“Oh! Oh can we please have a small spar! I want to see if my rocket assisted fist will be able to bypass the famous multi-hand defense!”

“Oh oh oh! One at a time please!” Shiva seems to laugh as she exalts in the attention she is getting. Nalika remains on the side, looking completely miserable as she and her mother are completely swamped.

Shiva, Why don't you take good care of these victi... Sparring partners while we handle business here?
>>
>>28056164
I second this, Shiva seems like its her plan already.
>>
“Shiva, Why don't you take good care of these victi... Sparring partners while we handle business here?” you ask Shiva.

“But of course! I’ll be happy to spend some time here!” Shiva says clapping her hands in enjoyment.

“...Those poor souls...” Nalika mutters to herself as she worms her way out of the crowd.

“Come on Nalika, let’s take this brief respite your mother is going to provide for us and see if we can contact the higher ups.” you say putting your hand on her shoulder trying to cheer her up.

“It’d depend completely on her whimsy.” Nalika replies as she follows you off the stadium floor.

As you climb up the many upon many flights of stairs, you eventually reach the top of the staircase. The top floor appears to be a more proper version of the bottom floor. Full of rather impressive relics on display alongside vivid images of brave warriors using them. Even a few heads from beasts such as a Hydra and a dragon.

“...I thought Hydra heads couldn’t be put on display like that.” you say admiring one of the heads as you pass by.

“Stasis spell I’d imagine.” Wilhelmina replies as you continue the walk down the hall.

As you approach the area where the glass overlook of the arena should be, you are stopped by what appears to be both a Wrath Demon and a Belkarian carrying spears.

“I’m sorry ma’am. This area is off limits unless you have a reason to be here.” The male Wrath demon says. “The nearest washroom is a floor down in case you’re about to ask that as well.”

And... as of right now I’m suffering from some writers block, which is probably some good timing as things seem a little dead right now. I don’t want only one voice to answer things in the quest, so I’ll just close the thread here for now and continue next week.

Ah, too bad. Thank you for the run!!

Thanks for running.
>>
>>28056638

Damn it! I missed it!

Take care of yourself, and as for the game, I guess the next step is to tell them we're looking for Fredika.

Nope, Should get on the IRC some time. If we keep it around, Sand might finish it after his game.
>>
i just read through the archive and like this quest, so ill be here as well if the thread continues
>>
>>28056638
just tell them we have something of personal significance to frederika to discuss with her and we need to know where we can find her
>>
>>28068896
>>28056638
Possibly that we have a job she may want to do, but we need to ask her personally. Anything that we can say that would make things seem less suspicious would be useful.
