You and Salta fly as fast as you can, despite not being in top condition at the moment. It takes only minutes for you to reach the village. Many of the Sampans back away in fright upon seeing the massive head you carry. Salta, meanwhile, runs straight into the building where you previously met with the village leaders and Teefog. The head you carry is simply too large to fight through the door, so you leave it outside as you follow her in. You see Spina lying on the floor, Salta kneeling at her side, and one of the village leaders applying what appears to be some sort of paste to her head. Your scouter detects her power level flaring up, actually far higher now than it was before her injury, increasing from 2,200 to 3,000. Her eyes shoot open and she looks around, a bit confused.

Salta puts a hand on her shoulder, and the sisters share a smile. Teefog approaches you, a curious look on his face.

"So, you have slain the monster?" he asks hopefully.

That's correct. The humans do have some potential after all. The problem in the show is that all the human characters are one or two arcs behind any Saiyan's power level.

Which would mean that, if the human trains enough, he can wreck Frieza's final form. Not every alien can do that. Oh well, caulk it up to their phisiology being so close to a Saiyan's they can interbreed.

Remember, that's not from any kind of damage we get, it's from almost dying. Landing in the healing tank so to speak.

Power boost only if it was paste or death. Of course, the more powerful you are when that happens, the more power you get. The Saiyans could have abused this ability, but their pride got in the way. They'd rather die in a fight than suffer the humiliation of defeat.
