Pastebin of character descriptions, now containing a section on how much Gronk knows about the different races. Not finished:
http://pastebin.com/fQ2aeZSm

Synopsis: In the far north of the world, a troll named Gronk has risen to power. After mastering his won tribe, Gronk made it his buisness to dominate the mountains, burning down the camps of more civilised races as often as he could. He found that he had an incredible ability to absorb the powers and abilities of those he killed. He used fire magic to kill the chief of a neighbouring tribe and absorb his trolls. His quest continued for some time, in which he conquered a dwarf mine, ate an ancient star god, defeated every other troll chief in the mountains and fathered a son with a human. Just recently, Gronk and The Children ventured out from the mountains and raised the city of Märlas, capturing the inhabitants and butchering its defendants. A strange visitor appeared to ask for the Big Pappa's help with a vermin problem.

>Choices and info block incoming.
>>
Gronk told the messenger, Branimir, that he would spend a few days considering before he chose whether or not to help him and his master. He turned his back on the strange being and walked back into the city. He had much to do.

Soon Moruk would return with his many human prisoners in tow. They were fighting men, criminals and mercenaries mostly, but Gronk had need of farmers at the moment. Perhaps they could be forced to work the fields, but they were far more likely to attempt to escape. He was unsure how he was going to use them. And then there was what he should do about the ruined city he was now sitting in. Maybe he should simply go back to the mine with his riches and prisoners in hand. Or should he bring those still at the mine to him? He'd never imagined that conquering would take so much effort.

Bout fuckin time this shit came back.

As a reminder we had some orcs captured also, one of the females had successfully mated with Gronk. One of the Drow and Lizardfolk females had also successfully mated with Gronk.
Gronks halfbreed son had also claimed a Drow as his wife.

Can we explore and loot the city? see what it has and what its assets are?
>>
>>28177404
... That is very true, I did say there were orcs. I was so sure I had remembered all the races. Thanks for catching it. I remembered the mate Vulug took, though he was banned from calling her his wife.

Most of it is a pile of burning rubble, thanks to Gronk's method of entry. You could spend an Other action exploring it and raking through the debris.

>>28177391
The sport was never named by the trolls, but you called it Dodge-kick and others called it head-kick.

Why are we wasting over one hundred fighting men on farms? We have enough food at the time to come up with a much better solution, and we have dwarves if we really need to buy some time. Seems much more reasonable, especially when we're on the verge of being hired to fight things that are apparently strong with magic, to cripple all of our cannon fodder.
>>
>>28177613
Yes, it's his business belt, he wears it at meetings and while doing business. After a long day of work he goes back takes off the belt and has an orgy.

The orgy is less important if the belt is female. (The darkness in my soul has grown. I am reaching the point that no sane man should be. It started out on my head as 50's businessman and ended as heavy metal war leader)

Fixing the walls isn't terribly practical as you have no masons, but digging pits is good. Lightning magic and discussion are both useful, but crippling and eating all the slaves are both pretty extreme.

E: Recruit whatever humans will join us, then put them to training similarly to the goblins
F:Dig spikes pits and other traps
G: Talk to Branimir, see what type of slaves he has to offer. Focus on cheap, weak labor for the fields like halflings and skilled carpenters and masons for the walls and buildings of the town. Accept his offer if he gives us a good deal. Working with a vampire is shady, but we're smart enough to solve that when we get to it.

Gronk sent runners to Vulug and Ragnar, deciding he would pool their wisdom with his. They would have valuable input about this new problem, as would Moruk when he returned with the humans. While he waited for them to gather, he sent out orders for his bull trolls to begin the digging of deep pits wherever there was a break in the wall. Even if accommodation in the ruined city was to be temporary, he would sit behind such useless walls. The goblins and any prisoners left in the city would begin sharpening stakes to line the bottoms of the pits with. There was ample wood inside the city and forests not far from its walls, so gathering the wood would take less than an hour. Gronk himself decided to work more on his magic. His control of fire and stone were great, but he had yet to truly master his ability to hurl lightning. If he could learn to manipulate to the same extent he could fire, there was almost no limit to what he could do with it. He set about the ruined building around him with the potent magic, blowing walls, rocks and piles of rubble apart. Every bolt came easier than the last, his grip on the elusive discipline tightening all the time.

>Cont.
>>
>>28178160
Soon Vulug and Ragnar arrived, forcing Gronk to stop smashing and start talking. He told them what Branimir had told him, and asked what they thought of helping them. He also made a point of asking if Ragnar had ever heard of this place during his travels in the south. Ragnar said that Nefertail was a barren and dead land, ruled by a tyrannical being. He had never ventured past its borders, and advised that Gronk do likewise. Vulug, on the other hand, was fascinated by this being that walked and talked but was not truly alive. He asked that Gronk learn more about him and his master before agreeing or disagreeing to anything. Vulug also had something to bring before Gronk. He wished to allow any human that wanted entry to join Gronk’s forces. He reasoned that they were less likely to escape or rebel if they thought they were in command of their own fates and could prove a useful tool in war.

Gronk considered his young son and wondered what motivated such a suggestion. Did Vulug want to see those he shared blood with get an elevated status? Or was this a genuine attempt to bring more warriors to Gronk’s banner. After a few moments, he decided to agree. Any human who wished to join could do so, and it would be Vulug’s job to organise and train them, as well as presenting Gronk with an assessment of their collective skills. Now that the trollkin had a job, Gronk gave Ragnar one too. He was to explore the ruined city for anything of interest that might have been missed thus far. If they had to leave, Gronk wanted everything he could get. Then he sent them both away, and called for a few of the captive dwarves to be brought to him. He wanted to see this magic used on a living being again, and see what it could do. To the first dwarf, he poured as much power as he could into the bolt of energy. The dwarf actually exploded in a cloud of smoke, leaving no trace of his existence except ash. On the next, who had voided his bowls in fear, he tried to send as little as he could while still manifesting the power. This time, the bearded mountain rat collapsed on the ground and convulsed for a few moments. The goblin attendant checked him and said that he was still alive, though completely unconscious. Gronk was pleased. It was rare that he wanted to take a foe alive, but this was just the thing.

>Cont.
>>
>>28178865
Early next day, he went to talk with Branimir. When he walked outside the city, Branimir and his manservant, Ashell, were fighting. For a moment Gronk believed them to be battling to the death, but then he saw Branimir deliberately not take an opportunity to ram his blade into Ashell’s neck and realised they were training. The weapons they used were strange, like word but incredibly thin. Almost like a splinter of steel. Gronk watched for a few moments and realised that while they were useless at slashing, they would do terrible damage with thrusts and were far faster than a normal sword. Branimir had not missed Gronk’s attention, and gave him a little show. Instead of going easy on his servant, he launched a ferocious attack which sent Ashell scurrying back and quickly disarmed him. Then Branimir turned and bowed to Gronk, gesturing for Ashell to do likewise. Once again, Gronk realised he could smell no sweat from either of them.

>Cont.
>>
>>28179009
Gronk asked that Branimir tell him more of the threat, and of Duke’s armies and their abilities. Brnimir seemed t glance at Ashell, as if ascertaining if he could hear them, before speaking. The servant was a dozen or so metres away, busying himself with clearing away the swords and preparing his masters clothes for the day. Branimir spoke quickly and quietly about the Duke’s soldiers. They were mostly animated corpses, which he referred to as cattle, or human mercenaries. The elites were being like him, which he called vampires. While the cattle and humans were not too dangerous, he said that vampires were truly a force to be reckoned with. They were a hundred times stronger than a man, could move like the wind and never got tired. He talked on their, and his own, need to drink the blood of mortals as a weakness, but also a weapon. A vampire could dominate the mind of one it drank from. Gronk asked in a low voice why Branimir was speaking so carefully. Branimir grinned and showed his long fangs. He said that the duke had sent Ashell to watch him as well as serve him, and that he was not strictly supposed to tell Gronk anything of the vampires of the Duke’s own forces.

>Cont.
>>
Before he could say more, Ashell began to walk towards them bearing his embroidered coat. Branimir seamlessly switched to outlining the Skaven’s abilities. He said that they were physically weak and had poor weapons and armour, but marched in colossal strength. They outnumbered the Duke’s men by a huge magnitude, and had their own elites and magic as well. They were known to use strange devices that fired lightning, as well as traditional weapons. He predicted that if they were allowed to continue spreading that they would overrun Nefertail in a few years.

Gronk thanked Branimir for the information and retreated to the city again. While they had been talking, he had heard the sound of Moruk returning. His heir was in the main courtyard of the city, with the humans and goblins he had set out with. Large piles of farming implements were stacked in the town square. Moruk bowed deeply to Gronk and barked at the humans to do the same. They did so quickly, clearly having learned to fear and respect the trolls. When Gronk had filled Moruk in, he found that Moruk was a firm supporter of going east and fighting these vermin. He was already hungry for another battle, and getting paid to fight pleased him greatly.

>Gronk will take Branimir aside to ask him more about vampires and put the idea that Branimir isn't entirely trustworthy into Ashell's ear.

dang sorry i had to do something, i think that we should do the goblin test, slowly give a slave race a little responsibility if they try to rebel we strike them down, if they try again they get meat shield privileges, if they prove loyalty then they can become a lower class

Vulug arrived minutes after Gronk, gave Moruk a look of disdainful courtesy and asked to be allowed to address the humans. Gronk waved his permission and drew Moruk away to talk of other things. He mentioned the covert way Branimir had told him of the vampires, and asked the cunning one’s advice on the matter. Moruk’s maw split into a wide grin, and he detailed a plan. He suggested that they pump Branimir for more information while subtly hinting to Ashell that Branimir was untrustworthy. Both parties would believe Gronk was trustworthy and that the other was false. Gronk was impressed and knew that Moruk had been a good choice for heir. He had brain, brawn and bloodlust. Now Gronk added his own part to the plan; he wished to see Branimir fight a troll, to test his splinter against a truly deadly opponent. Gronk would suggest a sparring match between Branimir and Moruk, and another between Vulug and Ashell. It would let them see the vampires in combat and test their skills. Moruk agreed and was sent to take the message to them.

Meanwhile, Gronk went to listen to Vulug’s speech to the humans, from behind a collapsed building. No need for the humans to see him just yet. Vulug talked to them of Gronk’s power and strength, but also his generosity and loyalty. If you performed a service for Gronk, he would pay you your due and more. The humans seemed unimpressed, until Vulug talked of them serving Gronk with their strong sword arms. He told them they would get their share of the loot from every victory, and that Gronk had never lost a battle. Gronk realised this was true, and wondered why. It came to him after a few minutes; a troll is dangerous, but a group of organised trolls can unmake civilisations. When he had marched with his trolls, there had never been a time he thought he was going to lose. When he had fought alone there had been many close shaves. He turned his attention back to the humans, who were hustling to the front of the crowd to give Vulug their names and skills. Each wanted to serve, and Gronk knew why. They believed that if they joined the trolls in battle, they could never lose. They probably even believed that Gronk would send his trolls first, to give them the glory. Fools.

Sounds good to me, I was just debating whether worth can be proved by swinging a pick in the right way.

Sorry guys, this is a dick move by me. I'm going to have to leave now for some important(ish) RL issues, leaving the current update unfinished. I plan to have it done by next session and put it in the start of the thread.

And the next thread won't be for almost a week. I have a lot of stuff on at the moment so it's being pushed back a little.

Hopefully I'll see you for the next thread, on Thursday at 6:00PM GMT. Sorry again guys, I feel a bit ashamed and abandoning you like this.

Gronk decided that he should instil the nature of their devotion to him as soon as possible. They must understand that he is a god and requires, no, demands their worship. He had all the prisoners brought to the square and told one member of each race come forwards. The spokespeople were made to describe the religion and faiths of their races. There were many different gods worshipped in the humans and dwarves, but most of the other races all followed a pantheon respectively. Then Gronk roared to them that their gods were gone and dead. There was only one god to them now; Gronk the Marked! As he said it, he wreathed himself in a cloak of flames and sent tendrils of fire out to encircle, but not burn, the spokespeople. There were shouts of surprise and downright screams, but soon people settled down. When Gronk asked them who their god was, they knew there could be only one answer that would see them out of this alive. And they gave it.

>This is the last bit I'm doing tonight, see >>28180741 I've archived the thread so see you in 6 days, I hope.
