You head over to the chair next to the couch and let yourself sink into it, reclining backward. Letting out a sigh, you glance over at Emily and Josephine. You try to look as cheerful as ever considering that Emily’s a deadly ticking time bomb traitor and you can’t tell anyone or else she’d probably kill them.

Emily looks over at you, seemingly concerned. “Is everything alright?”

You nod your head, letting out a sigh. “Just a bit tired, I’ve been considering looking into that Foundation X research facility again. They might still have some useful data left, something to give us an edge. Regardless, things are going to change and get more interesting here soon.”

You shake your head before saying anything about Emily. Her being BLACK KNIGHT seems to be a secret between you and her. Bringing it up might be a sure way to get her to kill Josephine and the rest.”

Emily nods and smiles at you. “Well, whatever happens we’ll get through it, together. Right, Josephine?”

She looks over at Josephine who nods. “Yeah.”

You look at the TV as your eyes narrow. It appears to be a news report on Eternal from the local media, calling him the ‘Despicable Tyrant’ Well, it would if a monster didn’t start rampaging. The monster seems like some sort of bug-like creature, too.

Josephine looks at the screen. “That’s where Jupiter normally shops.”

You pause and look closer. Sure enough, it’s the town you all regularly go to for supplies. Jupiter might be in trouble if he’s still out there.

The plan, as far as you know, is destined to fail. It involves Emily fighting and beating you.

Assuming she lets you live, a prospect you cannot count upon, the territory would become BLACK KNIGHT's unless she relinquishes it to someone after being challenged, meaning that your group would still be no safer than before.

Furthermore, it requires trust in Emily not betraying and killing you on a whim.

So you CAN present her with the plan, but Julian, as a character, would feel that it is overly dangerous and risky for a payout that isn't worth it.

You should head out alone- Emily shouldn’t cause any problems fro now and Josephine will be needed to watch the base. You have your jacket on you with Mezool’s [Mysterious Blue Coins] firmly sealed in a zipper on the inside of your jacket.

“I’m going. Keep an eye on the base, Emily you should make sure you’re fully rested.”

Emily nods as you keep up the appearance of nothing being wrong as you head out. There’s a small car and a motorcycle, Jupiter took the jeep that he prefers. The car’s better, but the motorcycle would give you better maneuverability on the way, so you decide to go with it, grabbing its helmet off the seat and putting it on.

Starting it up, you head off into town, your base is what seems to be a farmhouse in a rural area- isolated enough to give privacy and to conceal its true nature. It takes you several minutes as you reach the edges of town and another three before you reach the area that had been attacked. There’s a lot of damage, but there’s no sign of anyone or the monster.

You ready the [Lost Driver], placing it around your waist and allowing the belt to form and wrap around you. It’s still a strange sensation, but you don’t jump like you did when you first put it on now, at least.

Still, you keep your [Eternal Memory] in your pocket. Hopefully the driver will keep hidden well enough, but it’d be stupid to drive around holding onto the [Eternal Memory] like that.

Still you go looking around for Jupiter and the monster. Jupiter’s not stupid, so hopefully he’s gotten somewhere safe, but you listen for the telltale sound of screams or destruction. Driving around following the path of destruction, it doesn’t take too long until you find it. The monster seems to be attacking various stores from what you can see.

You don’t see Jupiter, but there’s people panicking and hiding. There’s also seems to be a blond-haired man in rather elaborate looking clothes sitting on a chair further down the road, holding a glass of wine and watching, a woman standing to his side.

You take a good look at the man and woman before you get off you bike and rush towards the monster. It seems like the man is rather wealthy looking, in an expensive-looking tailored red suit. He seems to be half-Asian and the woman next to him has long black hair in a secretary’s outfit and seems to be Asian as well. There also seems to be a red crest on black background on the large case the woman is holding, but you can’t tell what it is of.

You prime the [Eternal Memory] and begin to transform, quietly whispering “Dear lord, please don’t let me screw this up.”

Running forward, the armor forms around you as you stop several feet behind the monster, which pauses in its devouring of goods such as lottery tickets and money from the convenience store it seems to be attacking. Turning to you, it screams out in English, to your surprise.

“I WANT MORE!”

You swallow nervously as you barely dodge out of the way as the monsters jumps at you with a loud ‘bang.‘ It’s surprisingly fast, but that isn’t surprising as it seems to be based on an insect with horns on its head and grasshopper-like legs. You stop yourself before you go to grab the [Eternal Edge]- in Red Flare, it isn’t there.

It seems like this thing’s good at jumping and stabbing things through with its head. It also seems pretty strong, considering that the attack you dodged allowed it to slam through and destroy a wall in the nearby building and it doesn’t seem to be harmed.

It doesn’t help that your right arm, while able to move, still bothers you some.

You try to keep back and dodge, trying to see a good point to counterattack. You manage to keep your distance, observing how it rams. It seems like uses its legs like a spring and shoots forward, aiming with its horns. However, dodging each and every thrust, the only time you might be able to counter it is when it either begins to ram or ends its ram.

So, as it lands you approach it, trying to attack it so it cannot ram, but your fists aren’t very effective against its hard, chitanous armor. All it does is knock some [Silver Coins] out of it, but it doesn’t seem very affected by their loss, considering how it raises a contracted leg and extends it with a ‘bang,’ hitting you in the chest and sending you flying into the side of a building.

You get to your knees, holding your chest. You wheeze for a moment, holding your chest before you get back up and try to play matador again. You’re still rather fast at reacting, so you’re able to keep out of its way.

However, the buildings in the area seem to be taking a lot of damage. You can hear people booing you in the distance.

“Eternal, you suck!”

Gritting your teeth, you consider your options.

You wait for it to get into position as you ready your attack. Removing and placing the [Eternal Memory] into the [Maximum Drive] slot, you ready your hand as you wait for the expected ‘bang’ sound as it begins to ram. Dropping to one knee, you tap the activation button with one hand as energy wraps around your left fist.

Waiting for it’s horn to pass, you punch forward into it’s face and let its momentum carry it through your attack, carving it into two, sending [Silver Coins] spraying everywhere. The monster lands as it twitches before exploding, sending even more coins exploding everywhere as your transformation ends.

On the road, you hear the sound of clapping as the man uncrosses his legs and stands up, looking amused.

“Good show, there. Now then, Miss Satonaka?”

He then gestures towards the [Silver Coins] as the woman nods and pulls out a container from behind the chair, as tons of little red Hawk machines and little silver Gorilla machines head towards the [Silver Coins].

He takes a deep breath and composes himself. “However, you did aid me and have proven yourself marginally capable, so I will be generous. In return for your aid, I will grant you aid and supplies so long as you rally yourself under my banner and provide any and all information on the matters I demand.”

The man gestures for the woman to approach as she holds up a screen with a very familiar coffin on it.

“Have you seen this [Stone Coffin] before? Barring that, tell me all you know about the [Greeed] and [Yummies] that you know.”

You look at him, confused. Who talks like that? More than that, what the hell does he mean? Seeing you confused, the man smiles and sits back down.

“Naturally you’d be confused. Let me introduce myself I am Jonathan Kougami, son of the late Kousei Kougami. What I am saying is- in return for your allegiance, I will offer you supplies and support. You will be my subordinate and follow my commands as my North American branch head. I‘m very busy defending Europe from the [Vampire] menace, so I won‘t be around much.”

He waves at Satonaka, who brings up information, showing it to you. She has an expressionless look on her face. The information seems to be supplies and funding that he’d be willing to supply.

“In return, if you find out anything about the [Stone Coffin] or [Greeed] you must immediately tell me. Furthermore if you fight and defeat anymore [Yummies] like this one, you will send their [Cell Medals] to me, along with any [Core Medals] from any of the Greeed, should you encounter and recover any.”

He shrugs. “It’s quite advantageous for you, you know.”

He pauses as a dark look crosses his face. “Oh, and if you find a relic that looks like a [Driver], kill anyone else who tries to possess it.”

This guy’s offering a really nice deal, but there’s a lot that smells fishy. He’s from Europe suppsoedly, so why would he be after a [Foundation X] relic in America? Moreover, remembering Mezool of the [Greeed], what would this guy want with these things?

You raise and eyebrow and cross your arms. “What’s the catch?”

Kougami raises his eyebrow. “Catch?”

Nodding you step to the side of Satonaka and point at him. “I want to know what you aren’t telling me. What do you want this things for and what’s so special about that relic shaped like a [Driver] that you’d kill over?”

He snorts and shakes his head. “Simply put, they’re my birthright and I plan to put them to the use they were intended. As for any other catches, well obviously as your liege, if I offered you any orders, you’d be bound to obey them. But that’s to be expected. Either way, I have indulged you enough.”

He stands up, extending a hand, knuckles up. “So, what say you? Shall you serve me or shall you reject me?”

He pauses and smirks. “Or should I say, considering your circumstances, do you believe you can afford to reject me?”

The pocket that contains Mezool’s medals grows searing how, trying to get your attention.

You think about it for a moment only to realize that you need more time. There’s too many factors to deal with and if you don’t tell your team about it first, things might get nasty.

You nod and head towards your bike, putting the helmet on and starting up the vehicle. You drive a few blocks away before calling your base. When it answers, Josephine is on the line. “Hello?”

“Did Jupiter make it back?”

“Yeah.”

Letting out a sigh of relief, you tell her to make sure everyone’s gathered for a meeting and head towards your base, making sure to keep a eye out for any of those little robots- especially the hawk ones. When you arrive at the base, you park your motorcycle next to the car and jeep.

Her shadowed, human form is there but so is a new form. Feminine in nature, but she seemed to have a blue cape that reminds you of a jellyfish. There’s also marking on her legs that remind you of the suction cups of an octopus. And her head reminds you of a killer whale. She crosses her arms, looking at you.

“Though I don’t understand your antagonistic nature to a deal that benefits you so, I am not willing to be the pawn of that man, who has inherited the desires of his ancestor.”

She seems to be waiting on you to say something.
