Welcome back to Commissar quest!

Um.. Guys, I am back... ;_;

You are otto schulte, a twelve year old girl on her way to destiny - you are a student of the scholia progenium on besvir, and a prospect to become one of the selected officials to one day lead the great imperial armies in battle, if you survive. Little is know of your past - you only know what your uncle(whom you've got no blood relation to) told you: They where charged with your care before you where old enough to crawl. For as long as you can remember you've lived amongst the stars onboard shiftshifts traveling the interstellar void of the immaterium.

You've arrived at the scholia progenium of which you where assigned, unfortunately so have Nikkobar the big oaf - a bully of whom you meet just before coming to the scholia, and his gang of misfits! Not all is bad, you've also meet the more friendly planetborn Angelina whom the planet mold seems to have left alright. There is also the "twins" to worry about, and how to survive the practicals, and as ever the ongoing mission to rid the world of your accursed first name "otto" - a administratum fuck up that left you with a boys name.

Your story is only just beginning.

Last week we had food, meet the Tech Priests in the tower, got our slate back and had a tea party.

Roll rules:

Lowest of first three rolls for things the character is skilled at doing.
Median of first three rolls for things the character is "capable" at.
Highest of first three rolls for things the character is utterly shit at.

You have to "beat" your stats (which for now are hidden by popular demand, this may change) so low rolls are good.

Cont post explained:[/spoiler]If there is a post marked at the end with "cont" its becouse your QM is lazy, and can't type fast - or becouse he wants to give you the option to jump into the current events, or offer opinions, if none are offered he'll continue as normal

"..Schulte, what did you just say..?" angelina asks, her eyes big with wounder "Dorm five o-" "You're in house five!?" "Y-yes?" a look of panic crossing over the face of the planetborn you've come to call friend. "The fifth house is for the boys! Its their dormantarum, girls are not suppose to go there!" - you tilt your head, realisation slowly dawning - "The administratum.." you mutter bellow your breath "They've messed up with my name again!" "Well it explains your jacket I guess... but did you not meet any boys there?" "No" you answer "I only entered add off hours - and I live in the first room up the stairs so I don't go far in really..." you look over the two girls - Angelina with her worried look and the younger girl Juliet Cramilton, whom you've just meet, a younger girl then both of you that seems somewhat confused.

>Its 21.30 Imperial and 04.00 Besvir. You've got class tomorow at 05.00 Imperial.

You clench your hands, suppresing the urge to just rush at the Administratum, no - you need to think, calm down and plan. Giving the room a scan as your frown burrows you try and think, the room your in is very similar to your own, which brings a sense of comfort, seated as you are on these planetborns beds - they where always curious things, the most comfortable you've ever slept in fact - when you go home to your aunt and uncle you've entertained the idea of bringing it along they've got so many, surealy they won't mind you grabbing one.. the only issue would be bringing in onbord. Once there it was sure to be space -somewhere- ships are big after all - much bigger then this cramped campus thing. The issue however, at hand still stands - the Administratum clerks did this to you. Again, and its time you repayed them, their building must be in the tower...

"Schulte, you went quiet - whats wrong?" Angelina asks, giving your shoulder a poke "I am going to go give the Administratum clerks a little visit" you answer standing up, and before either of them have the chance to stop you, rush for the door. This is getting to personal, not only do they seem intent on keeping your name Otto, but now they've assigned you a boys sleeping area? No more! Hearing the satifying dunk each time your steel toed boots hits the ground gives you a messure of courage - but, what will you actually do when you get there..? Once your ouside Angelinas room and can calm down a think for a moment.

>How will we approch them?

Go in civil, but firm. Insist that this matter be sorted out. I'm sure we'll justm come up against a mountain of forms to fill out, but let's at least make some headway.

Also, let's ask about a name change, while we're there.

Seems like a very low headcount right now, honestly the irregular times might turn some players off

Anyway I was hoping for slumber party but if we're doing this I say we go in and pester whoever we can/whoever seems important until they relent. No going home just because they say so, after all we aren't allowed in our dorm because of their idiocy.

Brute force never works with the clercs, no matter how much you complain they never really listen - you've learned that simply being presistant, and annoying enough usually does the trick better, you exit the building with a long stride pushing out into the courtyard. Turning the your eye towards to sky you are greeted with the unsettling glare of the shining stars, the endless void have always been a curiosutiy to you - when ever you had the chance you'd take the time to simply sit down and watch the void, it was unfortunatly rare, the shift ships you've lningered on only opened their flesh to the endless sky when approching a planet. Here it was diffrent - you could look up and be greeted with the endless spots of light that lingered, far away suns. It was odd not having a roof above you, but in a strange way it was liberating, a tantalicing promise of things to come, you where exposed yes, but.. in some way it seemed to invite you - dare you. It's a complex feeling - but then again so have your life on the planet been so far. Ignoring the handfull of people still out you finish the last meters to the tower, walking inside after giving the door a swift push. The now familiar sound of throbbing engines and smell of machine oil of the tower hits your nose like a whiff of home, you like it here despite yourself - if you could just drive away the administratum clerks that live in the higher tower floors it would be perfect.

You take a left and begin heading up the stairs you catch glimpse of earlier in the day, taking two steps at a time as you ascend it - it was spiraled, gilded corners and handlebar with a rich looking wooden panel - much in contrast to the corridor of grease and pipes of which it sprung - Necessary was the word that hit you as you climbed, a pointless waste of space - your surprised the priests let them install it. Then again, the clerks always had this odd way of getting what they wanted in the end - probably planet mold (bet they are behind it) It does not take long until you hit the next level proper and are greeted with the sight of a workspace - or well, as much as a workspace an Administratum clerk could be expected to keep. The room was large, but somehow still managed to feel cramped, due in no smart deal to the massive stacks of scrolls and books that seemed to populate every surface - a series of massive bookshelves ran along the chambers walls reaching towards the arched roof like trees for the sun, The smell in the air reminds you of secondarus room that have left to await usage - chambers running along the plasma conduits or coolant chambers, despite the massive storage need of a ship of the void several kilometer long chambers are left empty for centuries, as a kid you would often play in them - be it crafterball or hunt the xeno. The same stale air lingered in here, a familiar and comforting smell bringing a tiny smile to your face despite yourself

Continuing inside you brush past the mounted stacks of books and paper, the massive room forcing you into a narrow path like a giant squishing an ant in his hand - on the other side sat your enemy, a clerk writing something behind his bench - a large heavy set man with sunken in eyes, and a large device resting on his forehead and left eye - its lumbering size looking like a cancerous black tumor on the mans otherwise smooth face - it whirred and clicked as he continued to write.

"My name is Otto Schulte, and I am here to fix that" you state firmly, glaring at the Administratum clerk, you're tired of all this but manage to keep your emotions in balance, your not usually angry but by the holy emperor of terra this whole name thing is becoming right off silly - it was bad enough on the ships but now its becoming a nussence for real, you put a hand on your hip and try to look as stern as possible (which, for a runt of 148cm is not that stern...) a whirr and click from the black box pressed to the mans face passes as an eye turns to look at you - you notice he's not moving his body at all - and its not long before you notice he's hooked into the stuttering box, its attached to his spine by a series of long cables, but seems.. removable if the screws and metal bars are of any indicaiton. The man is heavy set, his arms are supprisingly thick for a clerk - same with his general physice, he looks more at home at a munition loading deck then inside a room of the learned - its thrown you a bit of edge really...

Another click before you continue: "I am here to change my name - and my dorm room, I am a girl yet I've been assigned to the boys dormantory becouse of this whole name mix up in my papers - I am not a boy, I don't care what the papers say!" another click, a few stratches of his pencil.. why are they always so damned slow!? Finely, he speaks - a low gutteral sound from the bottom of his bowels "Dorm requests are only open between 02.00 to 04.00 Besvir, please come back again later, as for names - please aquire a FA:145:B form from a physician to prove your gender, then we can discuss name changes due to a mix up in the system..."

... He dares...

Well at the very least we know what to do about this now. Okay, so the plan should be head back to "our" dorm. Set the alarm for early so we can head to the doc's place to get the form proving our gender and right when possible head straight back to the clerks desk.

Oh, and ask him when the doc's office opens up so we can set our alarm or at least try to wake up that early.
>>
>>28324296
Make an appointment with the clerk for 02.00.
Then go and see the doctor so we have the required form ready for the next encounter.

Well at least they can't throw us out of the boys dorm. After all we are a boy until given proper proof otherwise.

You narrow your eyes at the block of a man, its frustrating.. so frustrating - but you can't do much, you know the clerics, crying about it won't help - moaning won't either... its like hitting your head into a rock and expecting a different outcome, no - the plan needs to change, for now... "Where is the doctor located?" - a click, a moment of silence.. "Primary hall, upper level two, second corridor to your left, room 24 on that level, he's open between 08.00 Imperial and 21.00 Imperial." ... silence. You won't get more out of this... turning towards the door you exit out again, leaving the tower behind and pondering your next move as you look out into the starry sky, noticing a few of besvirs many moons floating in the empty void.

You give consideration to your action, its only so much you can do, and frankly your starting to get tired, your eye still locked on the teeming stars above you you begin walking across campus, your feet carrying you over the slightly uneven ground - you can't make out any stars you'd recognize, nor for that matter much you could at all, the central of the sky covered in a massive moon, its two twins lingering nearby partially obscured by the buildings around you, however - like everywhere on campus your eyes are soon drawn to the central statue, the massive fountain of the emperor bringing justice to the land.. your eyes linger on the many faces before stopping at the emperor himself... for a moment you swore you saw him look at you, but - like always the eyes remain motionless, where-ever he is, he's no doubt to busy for your name issue.

Regardless, you turn towards building five - its time to tuck in for the evening. A group of second years cross your path but you slide beside them, as long as you don't run into Nikkobar or something you'll be fine, you entertain the idea of slipping off to Angelina as you accede the stairs to your dorm but let it fade - you need a bed, besides you'll need to clean your uniform from the.. the.. mud, from the practical.. yeah.

You are greeted with a few boys in the corridor but none of them seems to take note you are there - true, the lights are dim, but they aren't even really looking at you at all. You stride with confidence, and that seems to be enough, odd really - I mean anyone looking at you could probably tell your a girl, but then again their planetborns - and boys to boot, probably can't claw their way out of a plasma manifold (you giggle a bit inside at your joke) rushing up the the first flight of stairs - large open ones that seems to descend upwards only to be cut in a platform and change inwards again, at least four men could walk abreast easily upwards - but the late hour have left them deserted. A sharp turn once you enter the second floor have you standing after just a few steps before your door - it opens upon keying in your personal ID and you slip inside.

Once your out of your uniform (and after a quick wash up in the bathroom - the only door in the room, equipped with a shower off all things - why they'd have cloth washing equipment inside your room and not at a central hub was beyond you but planetborns are silly that way.

>Meeting the doctor it is.

The alarm of your awakinator bellows across the dorm room assigned to you, and you roll out of bed - slamming down on its top with a grunt before dragging yourself into the bathroom to wash up. Lessons start in thirty minutes, the tiny box's screen informs you while you dress - meaning you've got just enough time for breakfast before attending class. You exit the building, easily blending in with the boys flowing out - once again, nobody takes heed to you at all. Your classed passes by quickly, you share a chat with Angelina between them - and spend some time glaring at Nikkobar - once the kids recognice you in class and outside they seem to avoid you, not that you mind.. but still that rumor is lingering. However, at long last classes end and you bid your friend goodbye, informing her you'd best head off to the doctors to get your forms sorted, you part ways as you promise to keep her updated if she needs to change from calling you "schulte" soon with a laugh - she's alright for a modly person.

Being inside primary already you waste no time and being heading upwards - through one of the massive gilded staircases that flock inside it, each one carved of stone, and inlaid with phrases in high gothic, much like the one leading inside - only these had been polished to a shine, seemingly glistering from the light filtering down from the chandalers hanging in the roof and the many large stainglass windows that seem to be at every sharp turn of the stair as it reaches a platform - allowing you a glimse of the outside world as you walk upwards. It was dazzling, and reminded you of the ships chapel the few times your uncle brought you - but you wounder how they always makes it shine.. are there servitors alone that do all this work? A waste really..

The door to the medics office is open as you approch him through the hallway, passing the few people that are hustling through - it looked like much else of Primary - large, brass enchanted and dedicated to the emperor of man. It was a good place, but it felt a bit overdone at times, you'd personally prefer if it looked a bit more like the lower sections of the tower but its planetborns, so what can you expect really? As such, you continue your stride, passing through the open door and looking around, the room was big - as you've come to expect from planets at this point, at least fourty beds lined each side of the room, of which you seem to have entered the middle, their white bedding giving of a distinct contrast to the grayed walls - that seemed a miles away from the brass and gold from outside. The old wood bellow your feet creaked slightly as you stepped inside, your nose tickles from the smell of antiseptics and cleaning agents - it reminded you of a cleaning servitor crew more then anything else.

Behind a desk at the farside of the room a old frail looking man regards you with inqusitive purple eyes from over the brim of a stack of papers in his hand "How can I help you miss?" he asks, his voice like old leather and dry like the desert, as if spoken through a strain.

The Medica eyes you up for a moment, raising a hand to his cheek scratching... "Thats.. and usual request.." he leans to the side of his workbench and begins to poke around
in the boxes while continuing: "I've got the form somewhere, but they are usually for use after someones been through combat, I'll need to do a full medical on you to fill it out"
"Well do it then!" you snort, folding your arms trying to resist your urge to poke around the things on display - the various shelfs and lockets all seeming to call for you to
look through them for potential interesting items."I'd love to miss, but you can't just come in here and request a full medical - we've got to book it in, unless its critical -
and you are still walking around, so it can't be -that- critical, I'll get you a C:501 - just get it filled in and I'll contact you with an open time window once it becomes avaliable"
"How long is it going to take?" you ask, sending the man your best attempt at a killing glare, feeling the faint rush of heat to your cheeks - why does all the adults
have to be so difficult? "Going to have to be after the seniors comes back I am afraid - their due back from their exercise in a few days and my time is spent ensuring
they're all going to get their shots in order once they hit planetside again - that and the injuries they are bound to get from this whole silly thing"

"Seniors?" you ask, tilting your head at the medicae - part becouse of interest, part to try and get a glimse at the open locker behind him - its filled with jars!

Even in the year 40,000, bureaucracy is still lethal.
>>
>>28326320
Even in the far distant future rules bring everything to a snails pace. Why do I get the feeling we are going to develop a special hatred for bureaucracy.

"Older then second years, they all head out for combat training on Besvaran, the nearby planet - got atmo, but its a dead world, got ruined during the uprising war many years ago
Mechanicus are there, doing their thing, but it won't be colonized for another few centuries, they've got to get it cleaned up after all, but the scholia use it for military training
staged mock fights, urban combat exercises - only the seniors go however - no sense sending the greenhorns and waste shuttle spots - its hard enough to cram a regiment sized school
in there without adding another one.

This gets your attention... "How many actually live here..?" "About thousand juniors - unassigned like you are, then about eight hundred seniors assigned for pre-duties, most juniors die
during their first years - but those that make senior tend to survive until they get shipped of for active service depending on their profession. Don't they teach you kids these things?"
You shake your head, before accepting the paper he hands you, "Fill it out - stuff it in the mailbox outside and I'll get to it later, so out you go your not injured so don't force me to"

>Its currently 12.40 besvir and 17.40 Imperial all classes for today is over.

>You've aquired a form...

>What do we do now?
>Fill it out, stuff it outside in box
>F-this, throw it away, enough is enough
>Go somewhere(Specify)
>Go eat, dorm then sleep (Time skip modu?)

PAPER WORK!
>>
>>28326392
This is 40k, i'm absolutely amazed there are ONLY two forms between us and adding two letters to some paperwork. On the other hand, this would be a good time to get a contact, knowing someone on the "inside" of the bureaucracy can make a surprising amount of red-tape go faster.
>>
>>28326419
>>Fill it out, stuff it outside in box
Must be done.
Then find Angelina and bitch about delays and wasted time.
>>
>>28326419
FILL IT IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR, MAY EACH WORD BE FILLED WITH THE EMPEROR'S RIGHTEOUS WRATH AT YOUR NAME
>>
>>28326419
Grab a pen, start filling in dat form.

We're fighting back.
>>
>>28326419
>Fill it out, stuff it outside in box and then enter the time warp!

>>28326457
True, though we have that with the tech-priest coming up so maybe we could get in good with them and they might be able to speed up the process.

You glare at the piece of paper, threatening it with THE WRATH OF THE EMPEROR. It backs down. You gain 24xp

You grab form filler device - a tiny sharp edged thing out from the scribe holder next to the box the doctor spoke of and painstakinly begin to work, uaccustomed to typing away form a data slate.. name, location, purpose, ID - eye color, the list goes on - after nearly fourteen minutes of painstakinly writing in the form your done, and fill it into the box, noticing a smaller collection of similar papers inside.

Turning your eye outwards you sight slightly, the rest of the day might as well be spend reviwing your notes, perhaps a quick dinner... planet food still never ceases to amaze you - this morning you had something called a "clam" - it was quite strange.

>And with this, its now 00:49 GMT+1 and our time togheter have come to an end - we're engaging timeskip modu untill we've got to help the Tech Priest, as nothing but class is to be expected for two days.

>Like always I'll be around for a few minutes while I wind down for bed, answering questions about Commissar quest and life in general.

>Late start due to A: SUDDENLY TITS, and B: 4chan being gay about the format of the OP - had to rewrite it for ages before I got to post.

>Sorry about the slow updates tonight, I've got no excuse.

>Thanks for everyone that stuck around despite me fumbling like always.

>Sage is great, to let the thread drop of the board, now that we are not running.
>>
>>28326755
Alright, thanks for running.
>>
>>28326811
We are starting with the timeskips! Rejoice!

I'm glad you are back with us Commissar though hit the panic button when I read "Invasion" on the twitter.

Planning on maybe running tomorrow as well?

Tell me, do we stand any chance against the Administratum? Or will they find us buried under a mountain of nearly-filled out forms.
>>
>>28326857
Tomorow is probably a no-go, becouse commitments, not neccisary tho - I'll keep you posted, for now I am trying to get back to regularly once a week like before I moved, getting their slowly.

>>28326859
Of course, as long as you fill in the correct forms.. and wait in the queue.
>>
>>28326857
Also, i'm guessing that the choices we have made/ will make will influence on our development during the longer time skips?

Like how we reacted during the practical, how we view everyone else, how we seem to never want to be late for our classes, our ever growing dislike for the Administratum.
>>
>>28326913
Naturally, also - how you're general disipotion is towards characters - you don't like nikkobar, but Angelina is chill, your reputation on campus, your items, I'll try and keep her consistant when I move her out of your hands - and I'll be doing summeries of what she did while you where gone, probably through diery interies or something.

This will be the first real time skip so will be fun to experiment on a smaller scale.
>>
>>28326985
>>28326985
Well i'm excited to read the diery interies and to see how well we work with the tech priest.

I swear he is going to test us to see if we have potential.
>>
>>28326985
Thanks for the run,OP. Normally you are getting going when I first get up, so you started after I was out and about. I do hope you stick to the quest, as it is one of my favorights. Thank you!!
