You decide to go directly into the Blood God Arena's lower levels and find this Souji character that Madaraki told you about. You have a feeling that you wouldn't be able to dissuade Enyo no matter what you tried. It's always the same with her type - predictable to a fault, sure, but completely stubborn and unyielding once she's made her decision.

Nothing would make her change her mind - it's a matter of honor, she'd only say. Only death would change her mind, and probably not even then.

Honor. It's...you know how it operates, sure, but you're not a fan of its mailing list. It sounds righteous and sacred on paper, sure, but you've seen people die just because of it. People who didn't need to die, people who didn't WANT to die. But they did, all because of some self-perceived slight to pride, or to a rigorous moral code that never allowed for mercy, or forgiveness, or even swallowing your own fucking pride to do the right thing.

Honor's killed millions of people, and hasn't saved a single one.

You're not a fan, is what you're getting at.
>>
>>28356109

In any case, you make your way towards the gaudily-constructed Arena. ...They really took it seriously, this Blood God thing. The entire building's got gargoyles and spikes and pentagrams all over the place - as well as skulls out the ass. There's skull pillars, skull crenellations, even skull CHAIRS! No doubt if you'd look into the giftshop, you'd find all sorts of skull memorabilia.

Freaky stuff, but it actually looks pretty cool. You wish you found out about this kind of thing some other way. ...Maybe you'll visit after this mission. Get some photographs for your album, that'd be pretty neat, right?

It takes you a bit of walking, but you finally find the staff entrance. It's guarded by two appropriately-costumed security guards, wearing skull masks and papier-mache pauldrons. They don't look to be armed, and look bored about the entire thing. One's actually fiddling with his phone, and the other's flirting with a Magical Girl, her green hair done up in twintails.

Hmh. Well, you can try to slip past them, or use Madaraki's ID.

Alternatively, you can use the Magical Girl as a distraction.

What do you do?

[]Try and slip past them. They're not even paying attention, so it should be easy.
[]Use Madaraki Fran's identification. She did say it'd help you get in.
[]Vomit Power Time.

While I trust Fran was being honest with us, there is a chance Arena's proprietors have her own suspicions of her and will be alerted upon seeing her ID.

Please think carefully on using the Culexus powers. Remember that it has already been stated to only work on Magical Girls. There's two normals and one magical girl.

>Senpai

Is there any difference between the two? Or is it just a pronunciation thing, like if you're in a different part of the country?
>>
Experimentation is how she probably got her freakishly long tongue now that I think about it
>>
hey op, you plan to defile with your stupid shit capcom after madoka and 40k?
>>
>>28356399
The pronunciation is largely indistinguishable (try saying both out loud), it's just different romanizations of the same thing. Senpai is closer to the way it's actually written, while sempai is closer to the way it's pronounced.
>>
>>28356399
The word itself is written 'senpai', but when spoken it's 'sempai' due to pre-bilabial shift in the nasal phoneme to make it bilabial as well.

Or in more straightforward terms, in Japanese, whenever an 'n' comes directly before a 'p' or 'b' sound, it's spoken as 'm'.

All good, man. It's probably because Japanese doesn't actually have a character for sole-m; it's all 'ma'/'mi'/'mu'/'me'/'mo'. So even though in some cases the phonemic construction transposes to 'm' it's easier to just represent it in romanization as an 'n' anyway and trust that English speakers have the same tendency to carry out the phoneme shift.

>Chosen Tiebreaker!

Still staying in relative cover - by that, you're just standing around pretending to read one of the many posters pasted all over the streets here, promoting the next fight - you blink-click your suit's settings, and setting the SPREAD FACTOR from Wide-Spread to Tight-Spread. This would compress the wave you'll be sending towards the entrance into a narrow one, allowing you to target one unfortunate Magical Girl out of a group.

While you did that, you also reached back to turn the large ratcheting dial at the back of your helmet - your Limiter Field setting - and lower it from a healthy 80% to 50%. Any Magical Girl that gets the Wendy Special for you then would blow their chunks hard enough that they'd pass out.

...It's a bit of an overkill, here, but you don't exactly have enough time to be delicate about it. Your HUD is displaying the time still, at the very top of your visor - and it says that you have the better part of two hours to get this shit done and get your main objective to the extraction point. Whoever the green-haired Magical Girl is, well, it's just her unlucky day she decided to hang around here.

The lines of your suit briefly glowing blue, then red - and you turn to face your target fully, centering her on your sights. She's singing now, doing a little dance in front of the appreciative guards while singing some sort of annoying J-PoP song. Just as the targeting system of your suit paints her with a reticle over her head, it's here that you gesture casually towards her with a hand. Releasing the pent-up energy you'd been keeping back and throwing it like a dagger. A VOMIT dagger.

It hits, and the effect is immediate. Just as she's about to belt out the chorus, all the color drains in her face - and instead of a beautiful mezzo-soprano, a wave of today's breakfast erupts out of her mouth and splatters all over her chuckling audience.

Heh. It really never gets old.

[1/2]
>>
>>28356578

The Magical Girl backpedals here, both hands clamping over her mouth in a desperate attempt to dam the flood - but she heaves once more and last night's dinner joins the meal after. She drops to the ground a moment later, unconscious, among the disgusted yells and cursing of the two guards.

As they're arguing on what to do while taking off their uniforms - one of them trying to lift the poor girl off of the ground and into your arms - you casually stride into the staff entrance, pushing the doors open and stepping inside.

You clip Madaraki's ID onto your suit's collar, but reversed - anyone who'd be looking casually would only see you with it, and dismiss you as someone who belongs there. That's the main thing about sneaking into areas - you have to look the part. You have to look like you own the place, or, failing that, look like you're too busy to be accosted.

But in any case, you're in. Not a lot of people around, and those you spot seem to be mostly mundane staff - janitors and technical staff, nothing too important. You also see some snack vendors taking their breaks here, their wares stashed all over the place. Khorne on the Cob, Candy Khorne, Khorne Dogs...there's an underlying theme here, and you're not just sure what.

It's here that you hear a growling sound - and you whip around, ready for the worst. Another growl, and this time you look downward - it's coming from your suit. More specifically, your stomach.

...Ugh. You forgot to eat earlier at the Restaurant. All you had was one of Odette's candies.

Anyway. A bit more of looking around, and you see the stairwell leading down to the lower levels. There's also an elevator here, too, but...you probably should avoid it, in case you meet anyone suspicious. Anyone important's going to be using the elevator, and you'd like to avoid them. Still, it'd be the quickest of the two.

What do you use to get downstairs?

[]Stairs.
[]Elevator.

You take the stairs, instead. Nothing against elevators, of course, but you don't trust yourself enough not to make too much of a scene if you needed to take someone down in that kind of closed space. Stairs at least gives you enough room to move in, and escape if you need to.

But of course, you appropriated a few snacks while the vendors weren't looking.

And so, with you taking a few bites out of a cold Khorne Dog with every few steps, you reach the first underground floor of the Blood God Arena. ...Ugh, it smells your dad's farm back in the country. You peek inside, and see the reason why - it's full of animals.

No, seriously, it's a fucking zoo. Wild animals, specifically - the sort that you can starve to turn into ravenous, man-eating monsters. You spot a couple of tigers pacing restlessly in their cages, and bears savaging what looks like the unfortunate remains of a maintenance guy. There's even a rhinoceros here, and from where you're standing it looks heavily sedated, by the way it's just lying there calmly. And all of them have what looks like a crest of wires and lights crowning their skulls, each wire glowing a rather menacing red. Some of the wires stretch out from their perch and connect into other parts of the body, like a distended vein, pumping god knows what into their musculature.

The three lower floors are the same, sporting different captive beasts. ...Probably more of Strauss' work, as you watch a heavyset gorilla with spikes welded onto its fists slam its forehead into its cage, denting the bars but not bending them entirely. Is this the kind of thing she does for a hobby? Is THIS what she did to Valnikov?

Your question is answered as you reach the last floor. There's only one cage here - and its lone occupant is your main objective.

No. No. It's...ugh. She didn't deserve this. No one deserves ANYTHING like this.

[1/2[
>>
>>28356981

You force yourself to look. This is YOUR fault. You let her get captured. You have to look and see what you've done.

Valnikov Ekaterina is...she's in a bad way.

She is still in her magical girl uniform, but it's a filthy, bloody thing, mere rags instead of the uniform she wore with pride on her contract day. Her long hair, once the envy of everyone you'd introduced her to, is now matted and stringy, and clumped where blood had soaked there and dried. The same crest of wires jutting out from her skull, but this time topped by what appears to be a visor clamped onto her face, a black strip of solid steel that wrapped around her head and terminated into horns. Demon's horns.

Those could be easily removed, easily fixed. But what they did to her hands and legs...

...

They're going to pay. One way or another, they will.

Madaraki was wrong. Strauss didn't just turn Valnikov Ekaterina into a monster.

They turned her into an abomination.

Killing her would've been far less cruel than twisting her into this thing.

. . .

Okay. Deep breaths, Malal. Deep breaths. No use losing your temper now. You have a job to do.

Ekaterina seems to be asleep, too, most likely also sedated. She's also heavily chained down - a thick collar clasped around her neck, attached to three lengths of chain nailed down to her cell's floor. The bars of her cage seem to be electrically-charged too, from how the bars spark every so often, and the large sign warning everyone to keep clear, because shit is electrically charged.

A further peek inside yields you the sight of a brown-haired young man in a lab coat, leaning over his work desk, frantically typing into a laptop with an infuriated expression on his face. A shotgun is propped against his desk - a SAIGA if you're any judge. You're not too confident of his ability to use it in a pinch, but better safe than sorry.

Five years, actually. This flashback is occurring five years ago so Malal would be... A really badass 13 or 14 year old

I'm actually fairly curious where this all goes. If Souji was involved in Kharn's... glorious flesh-metal transformation, how did they end up bumping uglies later in Russia? This doesn't seem like a setting where you'd fall in love, or even a low level respect.

How does Souji even SURVIVE Malal quest?

We still have Noriko's contact for her M-Idol job, right? We should pay her a visit at school to torment her with horrid attempts at social interaction.

Sorry Wendy. If it's any consolation, I'd say that theoretical course of events would make Kharn's interest in Souji probably even more unhealthy than yours in Chiaki, though with fewer negative consequences.

You step across the threshold. If he noticed, he didn't show it - even typing harder into his laptop, mumbling all the while. ...Madaraki was right about one thing, anyway. He doesn't seem to be the reliable sort. But hopefully he'll be reliable enough to help you get Ekaterina out of here - or else you'll be feeding him to the rhino.

Clenching your hand into a fist, you give the door beside you a sudden, solid bang - the sound from it loud enough to echo around the room like a gunshot. Sounded like one, too, and enough that it made the young man on his laptop jump right out of his seat and dive for his shotgun. It's a clumsy dive, however, and he ends up smacking his face right into the side of his desk instead, the firearm clattering loudly on the floor.

"Who's...who's there? Who the fuck is there? I-I've got a gun, don't fuck with me--!" He's stuttering and nervous - moreso than anyone would be in this kind of situation. You glance at his table again, and see his rather impressive collection of empty power drink bottles. ...Caffeine addict, looks like, and suffering the jitters because of it.

"Yo." You breathe out into your vox, the speakers spitting the greeting out as a snarl. "You're Souji, right? Madaraki sent me to pick her up." You gesture towards Ekaterina dozing in her cage. "She's not going to be fighting any more. Doctor's orders."

You hear a click, and you turn to see the brown-haired young man aiming his saiga at you. With ONE HAND.

"...B-bullshit," He spits at you, or at least tries to - he's too busy trying to stop his nose from having a period. "Professor never t-told me anything about anything like that before she left, and she sure as hell didn't talk about anyone wearing a dirty biker costume coming over and suddenly acting like she owns the place." He shakes his head.

"Lady, I'm gonna give you until three seconds before I start shooting. This is a restricted area, no one else is supposed to be here except authorized personnel."

...Is he seriously pointing that thing at you? You just said Madaraki Fran sent you, for fuck's sake. That makes you DOUBLE AUTHORIZED. Doesn't he see Madaraki's ID? You take it off your collar and hold it towards him. There, see?

He squints at the ID from across the room, before shaking his head. "Yeah, that looks like her, but that's probably faked. Do you think I've forgotten where we are, lady? You can have that kind of shit faked here for ten bucks. No deal." He finally places both hands on the gun, now - but it doesn't look like it's even loaded. "Lady, I'm serious. Get the hell out of here or I'll shoot. Go back and tell whoever the fuck sent you that they're not getting Kat. She's gone through enough."

God dammit. You don't have time for this.

You nod, here. You're the last person who'll argue with him - Ekaterina has gone through a lot. And now you're taking her out of here and bringing her back home, where she belongs.

"What?" Souji's eyes go wide, here. "Y-you are? Because, if that's true, then..." He glances back at the filthy, chained-up girl in the electrified cage.

He looks back at you again, a hopeful look crossing his features - before suddenly being wiped away with a hardened look of suspicion. "N-no. No, I don't believe you. Miss Strauss warned me that somebody might come along and try to take her away with that story. Fat chance, lady, now get out before--"

Jesus Christ. Enough.

You nod towards his gun, and the entire thing disassembles itself in a sudden explosion of parts. Souji shrieks an almost womanly shriek at this, falling back on his ass as the cloud of metal, bolts and screws that had been his shotgun fly toward you in a swarm - and assembling itself back into its original form in your hands, now.

He's staring at you now, jaw agape in both fear and awe, as you check the gun. ...Well, it IS loaded, but the safety's still on. So he's not a TOTAL idiot, just half a one.

Look, you spit at him. Yes, of course, this sounds like a ploy to steal Ekaterina away. But that's what you ARE trying to do - steal her away from the Thirteenth, before any more experiments are done on her. Does he really think that it could get any worse for her than this? Getting cut apart and having pointy metal shit shoved into your hands and feet, and turned into a rampaging monster? Compared to that, killing her would be a fucking blessing.

So yes, you're going to steal her. And you're taking her home, to where she was kidnapped from in the first place. And he can either help you or you can kill him, which you have no problem of doing.

He's silent at this, and it's here that you realize that you're now the one pointing the gun at someone, here. You chuckle at yourself. ...Getting a bit too rustled, here. Got to calm down.

You take a deep breath, before lowering the weapon and glancing towards him. He seems just about ready to cry, here. Maybe you overdid it. Got to scale back.

"You know you could have ripped your arm off with this, right?" You wave the gun at him. "Not that Madaraki would mind. Seems like she enjoys fixing that sort of thing."

It takes him a moment to reply. "How...how did you..." He stutters, clearly trying to put together a sentence but seemingly unable to. "That...uh..."

He's talking again, at least. "Magic." You reply as you toss him back his shotgun. He very nearly recoils from it, until he realizes at the last second that you're giving it back to him, not flinging it at him - and catches it with a desperate grab. "What, haven't you ever seen a Magical Girl before?"

He shakes his head. "N-not...not up close. Not like you. With the...uh...helmet and spikes and stuff."

You laugh at this. Well, you're not an ordinary magical girl anyway.

He's silent at that, still sitting on the floor, making no move to get up. "...You're not lying, are you? If you were lying, then you'd have shot me instead. You did say you didn't have any problem killing me, so..."

And he's not as stupid as you thought he was! Brilliant!

"No, I'm not. Although my baby sister makes me feel stupid a whole lot, so." Souji smiles here, a grudging one, but one all the same. "...Alright. I still don't believe you with some stuff, but...I'll help you for now. I want to get her out of here, too." He gestures at the girl in the cage. "She keeps on repeating one single word when she's asleep, you know? Just before the sedatives wear off."

"Right." The brown-haired young man says again. A click of a button, and it's here that the crackling cage bars suddenly spark before going silent - and then the entire cage starts to lift up, disappearing into the ceiling. Leaving the chains as the only obstacle left to freeing Ekaterina.

...She looks peaceful, here, even after everything they've done to her.

You make to step forward, but suddenly stop. Wait. If Strauss has turned her into a berserker, then--

"It's okay," Souji nods. "The implants aren't activated yet. Strauss has the controls to that, and she only activates it when it's time for her to fight. She's harmless at the moment, and you can probably talk to her. I mean..." He looks down. "I tried, but she never listened to me. I don't know if she couldn't understand me, or just didn't want to listen..."

...Wait. Wouldn't that mean that Strauss could make her go berserk at any time, then? Which is pretty bad news if you're trying to smuggle her out of here.

Souji nods. "That's why we're going to sedate her as much as we can. Render her medically comatose. It's...not going to be pretty, but at least the implants won't be able to take control of her then. Can't make something that's half-dead go berserk."

That should work, you suppose.

No chance of taking the implants out here, huh?

[1/2]
>>
>>28358644

Souji shakes his head. "See a sterile and well-equipped operating room on your way here? Because that's what we need to take them out. Taking them out here...you risk not only killing her but also that...jewel thing that all Magical Girls have. They're both linked. You need to take them both out at the same time. Try and take one out, both of them self-destruct." He points towards the black metal collar clasped around Ekaterina's neck - and true enough, you see a crimson soul gem set there, at the very center, also surrounded by wires. "See?"

Yeah, you don't want that.

Does he know how to do that, then? Take out the implants?

Souji nods. "I was there when they put them in, so...yeah, I suppose I could. Professor Madaraki taught me enough, at least." He takes out what looks like a hypo-gun from from the depths of his coat, here, an ampoule of green liquid loaded into it. "Alright. This dose should be enough for twenty-four hours." He walks towards Ekaterina, before stopping. "Is...do you want to talk to her first, or something?"

What? No. No, not now. You need to get this thing going before too long. ...Ten minutes till the match starts, too.

Souji's eyes go wide, and nods. "Oh, shit. I almost forgot about that." It's here that he moves towards Ekaterina's sleeping form, kneeling down beside her and pressing the hypogun against her neck. "Alright, Kat. You're finally going home." His finger curls on the trigger. "I'll miss you--"

Suddenly, you feel...something. A sudden heaviness in the air, a buzzing that fills your head, an itching at the back of your neck. Your heartbeat fills your ears - a slow, monotonous thudding that suddenly beats harder and faster than ever before. A sense of dread quickening your breath, your pulse. Time slowing down to a literal crawl as adrenalin floods your system.

No, no. This...this isn't supposed to happen. Everything's going according to plan, nothing should go wrong--

[2/3]

A click, and a growl, and you see the black visor clamped on Ekaterina's face glow a bright, hellish red.

Her claws, so long and impossibly sharp, moving closer to Souji from behind, the tips very nearly at the back of his neck.

Shit. SHIT.

What do you do? You only have moments to react.

Contrary to popular belief - you DID make two girls vomit today, and laughed about it - you hate using what you've been given to fuck around with other Magical Girls. Specifically, when you shut them down by temporarily nullifying the connection between their body and their Soul Gem. It's...well, you know what they're going through. And it's pretty much like dying, except they get trapped in the darkness of their Soul Gem, alone and unable to communicate with the rest of the outside world.

But you do it, of course. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you raise a stink whenever you have to use it. Sometimes, you need to do the wrong thing to do the right thing.

And while you're loathe to pile on yet another horrifying experience on top of what Ekaterina has already suffered through - you're not going to stand here and watch Souji get torn apart by someone who doesn't even know what she's doing.

The lines of your suit glow a bright red as it senses your intent - and you lower your limiter as far as it safely can be lowered. 30%. Enough to take out an entire building of Magical Girls - or even erase a Witch from existence.

Sorry, Ekaterina.

You throw your hand towards her, and you watch as the bolt of nothing flies from your palm and smashes into her with monumental force.

It flings her back, an invisible sledgehammer's impact that would have flung her across the room had it not for the chains arresting her sudden flight. Her claws and bladed feet make sparks as they rake the floor, carving deep furrows into it - and it's then that she falls to the floor, unconscious, her visor blanking out.

The entire thing had taken no more than three heartbeats. Maybe less. You're not sure.

All you know is that YOU feel sick, now.

That had all the feeling of putting down a pet that's gone rabid.

"...Eh?" Souji blinks as he fires the hypogun into...nothing. "Wait, where did Kat--" He looks back at her now-sprawled form on the floor, before suddenly jumping back. "W-what happened? What's going on, what--"

Didn't...didn't he see her visor thing light up? You just saved him from having claws shoved right into his neck, there.

"Her visor? I..." It's here that all the color drains from his face, before turning to you. "Look, you have to get out of here. O-or hide. If they turned her on, that means that they're getting ready to send her up, and--"

Suddenly, voices. Coming from the stairwell.

"Shit. Shit. SHIT! They're here!" Souji hisses. "Miss Strauss' goons! Quick! Hide!"

What? Where?

"Uh..." Souji desperately looks around, before pointing towards a row of lockers at the other end of the room. "One of those! The last one at the left's empty and unlocked!

...What? No. NO. Is he telling you to hide in a fucking locker? That's going to be just like back in middle school!

"You don't understand! They're Miss Strauss' private army! If they find out that you're here, both of us are fucked! K-Kat, too!"

They're getting closer, it sounds like. ...Group of five, maybe seven goons. Most probably armed, if they're being funded by Strauss herself.

Alright, pausing for now! Thread to resume on Thursday night!

Thank you for your participation, feedback is always awesome!

We have another writeup for tonight, I believe, so questions answered after it!

The air in the room was heavy and warm, and it was thick with a heady smell that clouded my senses. I couldn’t quite place what it was…a little bit of spice, I think, and something else. Passion, maybe; the underlying musk of piles and piles of conquests, consummated in the very bed I was sitting on. A certain sort of coppery scent, too…blood? I wouldn’t be surprised. Actually, I’d be surprised if it weren’t.

The lights dimmed as she entered the room – I wondered if that was by design, or if it was just the…effect she had. She was a monster of a woman, stretching higher than just about anybody I’d seen in my life, with sweeping black hair and a vicious, predatory gleam in her eyes. Her arms and legs were…deformed, I guess, wrapped in black metal and wicked claws, but she moved with an animal grace. It felt like she’d barely entered the room before she was on me, just inches away, her hand on my shoulder, easing me back onto the bed.

Take deep breaths. …Ugh, that smell was strong. Maybe don’t take deep breaths. But try to relax. This is routine. You’re trained for this. It’s just…a little more intense than usual.

I stopped her, squeezed her steely wrist gently as I held myself up, answering her momentarily puzzled look with a smile.

“Warmaster, please.” I forced out a giggle and moved to brush my bangs out of my eyes – a brilliant yellow-blonde, just for this mission. Not usually part of my image. Her claws dug into my shoulder as my back hit the blanket behind me, and panic flashed through my mind.

“Warmaster…!” My voice squeaked as I tried to push her away, but she was too heavy, too strong. And too forward; my hands seemed to slide off her shoulders and around her neck as she leaned in, lips pressed softly against my skin.

“Is first of many times you will cry out tonight, little Callidus,” she muttered, her breath tickling my neck, then trailing up my cheek and to my ear as I tried to sputter out a real response. “But I think I am preferring something more…personal. Yes.”

“Kharn…” It slipped out before I could stop it. It was a plea, a pathetic, weak cry for mercy as I tried again to push her away. But her lips against my ear, her breath, the way her claws stroked my cheek…they drained the energy from me effortlessly, and I found myself pulling her closer instead.

Our lips met, and I surrendered as she conquered my mouth with her tongue. Fireworks exploded across my vision as her claws glided across my chest, leaving electric lines of tingling pain in their wake. I barely noticed as she sliced through the top of my gown, not until she pulled away, a thin string of saliva connecting us, and started to trail down my body.

I thought it would be strange at first; her tongue was long, kind of unsettlingly long, and more flexible than anyone’s ought to be. It was probably stranger than I realized, but I barely noticed as it left cool, wet trails on the most sensitive parts of my chest. Two more slices, one on each thigh, flashes of pain that blended in seamlessly with the confusing, unwelcome pleasure.

I couldn’t stop her. I couldn’t even make myself want to, as I held her close to my shivering body, as I pushed her further down. It was like I had totally lost control of myself. She mumbled out something in Russian, something I couldn’t even parse at the time, as she finally yanked my gown up above my waist, her head sinking down between my-

-LOVE IS OVER-

The words burned into my retinas, replacing silky, picturesque black hair traveling down my-no, nevermind. Don’t get hung up on it. One by one the scents, sounds, and sensations from the Warmaster’s chamber faded away, and the blinking message that swallowed my entire field of vision gave way to the VR trainer’s menu. As it restored each of my senses in turn, I could feel someone pinching my cheek, calling my name.

“Rin-chaaaan.” A firm but playful voice, and a familiar one. My helmet slid away – rather, it was raised away from my head – and I was left staring into clear, crystal-blue eyes framed by yellow-blonde bangs. Her nails were painted the same blue color, and she was digging them into my cheek a little, like it would wake me up faster.

“…Spymashter.” I snuck my hand in front of my forehead for a salute, something that only made her laugh. …At least she let go of my cheek, once she backed off.

Satou Yuri, 01, the Spymaster of the Twentieth. The world’s best-kept secret, she liked to say. The Callidus that every girl in the world would give anything to be, and a self-proclaimed hidden treasure that only a handful of fortunate souls were allowed to know.

I was one of the lucky few that did, though, as part of the scant few hundred magical girls worldwide that made up the Twentieth Officio Assassinorum. The Shadow of the Moon, we liked to call ourselves. It was our job to fill this dark world with light. ...Well, alright, that was a little dramatic, but Satou-sama liked to say it anyway, and whenever she did, it looked like all the stars in the sky were in her eyes.

Although that didn’t really make it make any more sense, thinking about it.

(3/8)
>>
>>28359480
“You’re going to wear yourself out if you keep pushing yourself so hard. Didn’t you just get back from an assignment?” Her mouth twitched downward a little. Satou-sama was usually pretty easygoing, so it hurt a bit to see her upset. “You didn’t really think you were ready for that one, did you?”

“No. Maybe. Sorry.” An awkward smile grew on my face. I slouched down and scratched at the back of my neck a little bit, where the helmet dug into my skin. “I…wanted to prove I’m serious about becoming one of the best.”

It was a half-lie. There was no way I was going to make it, and I guess I knew that. Escape from Sex Gulag was supposed to be impossible for even the most elite Callidus; it was designed with the Spymaster in mind. She wanted something that’d stump even her, and someone – tech officer Kobayashi-chan, I think – came up with the idea of, er.

Of trying to get out of Kharn the Betrayer’s bedroom with your maidenhood intact. As a blonde, even; the Spymaster’s physical data was the model and everything.

It was really popular for a lot of weird reasons, and as of a few minutes ago I kind of understood why. They’d started monitoring who was running what simulation a little more carefully since one of the other girls…ruined the chair…pretty badly, but I really didn’t think Satou-sama would come to pull me out of it personally. She grinned at me again, and my heart leapt as she reached in to ruffle my hair.

(4/8)
>>
>>28359462
Never;_;
>>
>>28359492
“You need to pace yourself a little better, Shibuya. Even I didn’t become the Spymaster in just one day,” she huffed.

“It took me almost a week,” we said at the same time. It wasn’t the first time we’d had this conversation, and it wasn’t the first time she’d made the same joke.

“Okay, okay, smartass. You’re on tonight, yeah? If you prep right now, we can squeeze in an ice cream trip before you go.”

It took a second to sink in, and once it did I beamed at her. Almost everyone else that usually hung around HQ was busy with a big, ugly mission creeping up on us, one that we projected would require dealing with a ton of magical girls on top of the usual array of dangerous thugs. We’d kind of become a big family as we bonded over our passions and our one huge secret. She was lonely without the others here, and to be honest, I kind of was too. So I accepted.

For her sake.

“I told you not to wear yourself out, Rin-chan,” the Spymaster pouted at me over her ice cream cone. Cookie dough, with a million colorful sprinkles in it. “Seriously, we don’t have to talk about work all the time.”

“I was just hoping to pick your brain a little.” I nibbled at my own – chocolate, just chocolate. “I mean, you’ve met the real thing, right? And you two… …y’know.” It was pretty convenient, having something sweet to just…focus on, when I didn’t want to elaborate. I’d keep that in mind.

We were both out in our day-to-day disguises, partly so we didn’t get chewed out (as much) later for skiving off to get ice cream on a workday. Dirty red hair for her, pulled into a sidetail, along with the standard facial and physical changes. She really liked to show off, even when she was trying not to show off.

I just tried to look more normal, which wasn’t really a stretch for me. Looking pretty normal was one of my strong points.

“…Mmm…So you want to hear about Kharn, huh.” Satou-sama’s eyes drifted half-closed, as if describing the Betrayer was kind of hard for her. “You own a dog, right, Shibuya? How’d you train it?” She took a big bite of ice cream as she waited for me to answer.

“Well…I show him what I want him to do, and if he does it, I give him treats. Or when I want to show him I love him. And when he’s a naughty doggie, I whap him on the nose.” I emphasized it with an invisible whap on an invisible Koromaru’s nose.

“That was pretty cute…could you do it again? Let me get my phone out…” She started to dig in her purse with her free hand, but I cut her off with an emphatic ‘no’. “…You’re such a fuddy-duddy. I command you as your sempai!”

“Weren’t we talking about Kharn…?” I forcibly pushed the train back on track before she had a chance to sulk.

“Fiiine. Well, anyway, Kharn was…is, I guess, but she’s retired now anyway…Kharn’s basically a big, adorable, bloody dog. She likes to eat and kill and fuck. The trick to dealing with Kharn was pretty much the same – give her a little push toward what you needed her to do, then give her a little treat. I mean, the real trick was getting it past Malal, back when she was active, but…y’know. Then she died.”

…So that was the kind of person that led the Ninth? My question must have shown on my face, because Satou-sama started to laugh.

“It’s pretty easy, right? But in the sim...it’s like giving your dog a piece of bacon and then trying to get it away from him. You probably can, because you’re his master, but he’d just growl at someone else, even if it was someone he knew.”

“And that’s what Malal could do? Take the…bacon away?” …Something about being compared to a meat product was kind of unnerving.

“Yep. She had Kharn on a tight leash. That’s not THAT uncommon, though, I’m pretty sure the new Warmaster is kind of the same way.” I bit into my cone with a little crunch, and the Spymaster did the same. She chewed it in a hurry, though, and swallowed. “I mean, I’m not sure yet. It’s probably easier to get Matsuda angry first, if you want to make her do something. That’s what Mari-chan’s working on right now…”

We chatted for a little while longer, mostly about the new sim that Kobayashi-chan was trying to set up with compiled data on the new Warmaster. She said it’d be just as hard as Escape from Sex Gulag – the whole point was to get Warmaster Matsuda to sleep with you.

I guess without shooting you in the morning, or something.

The air in the room was heavy and warm, and it was thick with a heady smell that clouded my senses. It held an underlying, spicy scent, along with a little twinge of blood, and a much bigger twinge that smelled like an Officio locker room. A scent I couldn’t really describe in polite company

The lights dimmed as she entered the room – I wondered if that was by design, or if it was just the…effect she had. She was a monster of a woman, stretching higher than just about anybody I’d seen in my life, with sweeping black hair and a vicious, predatory gleam in her eyes. Her arms and legs were…deformed, wrapped in black metal and wicked claws, but she moved with an animal grace. It felt like she’d barely entered the room before she was on me, just inches away, her hand on my shoulder, easing me back onto the bed.

Take deep breaths. Right. No. No deep breaths. I had a plan this time.

I glowered up at her as hard as I could manage, and with all the courage I could muster, gave her a firm whap on the nose.

>Make Matsuda do something
Haha, silly 20th, Murderface listens only to one person. And she'd notice if Callidus.
>Whapped sim!Kharn on nose.
Oh, you naive fool...
>>
>>28359543

the 20th have the right idea what a challenge is but somehow it makes them come across like a buncha pervs.

great.

Thanks for running.

I liked this writeup, the 20th seems like a lewd bunch.

So, a sim about trying to survive Kharn's bedroom as a hot blonde, without getting fucked. Certainly a challenge, and an amusing one even in failure. But the one in development?
>the whole point was to get Warmaster Matsuda to sleep with you.
Yeah, good luck with that. Try as some players might, the closest Chiaki's gotten while under our direction was that one dream-meeting with Wendy. You're going to need an easy mode if you want anyone to pass that sim.

likely only because we change warmaster to often and they need to be able to deal with the new ones.

Mami was in line, did they have a simulation ready for her?
they better not have!

"Drink tea and have light conversation with Warmaster Mami without falling in love."
>>

Green hair would be easy mode for the Chiaki sim?
>>
>>28359711

Impossible mode
>>
>>28359689
But the fact that they've already got enough data points to put together a psychographic profile of Chiaki Matsuda is worrisome. We're far too predictable, too unreliable, and too prone to forgetting promises we've made.
Sure, Mami forgives us for our sins, but how many transgressions will we make under her disappointed gaze?
>>
>>28359716
More like being extremely drunk. Both of them, actually.
>>
>>28359727

We're improving with leaps and bounds!

>>28359711

add "and not disappointing her." to that.
>>
>>28359727

You're being too harsh anon.

They have a profile on Chiaki because Murderface was the most famous magical girl in the world, bar none.

And Mami put up with two years of Murderface and is only now seeing improvements in Chiaki.

Don't worry, anon.

Mami will forgive you.

Mami will love you.

>I mean, I’m not sure yet. It’s probably easier to get Matsuda angry first, if you want to make her do something. That’s what Mari-chan’s working on right now…
Mari-chan better not be attached to her kneecaps.

I'm sure they picked a paraplegic MG for this job just to get around that.

Actually surely being turned MG means you'd never have permanent injuries or the like. No cripple moe here.
>>
>>28359950
no, it happens. Kyouko is missing an eye. our new friend in the second is missing an arm.

Sometimes injuries just don't heal right.
>>
>>28359939
>>28359950
The cool thing is that getting kneecapped is the least of her worries.

>rolls for seduction
>knife interrupt from Wendy out of nowhere
>Midori makes her into a manga character that is offed offscreen
>Pinky smiles widely and warns her to never sleep again

If their simulation can prepare for this I'll be very impressed.
>>
>>28359950

Injuries can happen. As was pointed out, Kyouko lost her eye. Chiaki, Sayaka and Kharn are all covered in multiple scars.
>>
>>28359979
Oh right. Surely if your body was completely eradicated it makes no sense not to be able to remake a complete one, though.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't include something that could cause your soul gem to shatter.
>>
>>28360219
If it could shatter your soul-gem Murderface wouldn't be here.

It's worse. It makes you feel like its shattered.
