Previously on Gundam X Quest:
>David and Garrod get launched into outer space in the midst of a pitched battle between the New UNE and the Freeden's forces.
>Dave and Garrod's first battle might have ended in their untimely demise, were it not for the intervention of Satelicon's ace pilot, Pala Sys, and her G-Falcon.
>The Silver Horizon arrives to Satelicon, bringing with it old allies, and new Mobile Suits to bolster Satelicon's forces.

A week has passed, and repairs on Garrod's Double X are nearing completion. However, with every second that ticks by, the SRA's forces draw closer, bringing with them weapons of a great and terrible power...
>>
You sigh, fiddling with the helmet of the Pilot Suit given to you by Pala on behalf of Satelicon. You weren't the only one presented with such a gift. Whereas Garrod's was a while suit with black accents and a transparent teal visor, yours was predominantly navy blue in coloration with white accents, and an amber colored visor.

You'd never worn a pilot suit before, the closest thing to it being the far baggier and restrictive Normal Suits that you and Garrod wore aboard the colonist's captured New UNE ship.

You're brought out of your absentminded fiddling by an incessant buzzing in the back of your skull, which is followed roughly a minute afterwards by a violent explosion, sending tremors throughout the entire base.

Cursing, you leap for your GX Hyper Spec, its repairs having been completed a week ago, and fitted with a Hyper Bazooka, courtesy of the Satelicon engineering team. Launching outside, you nearly collide with a stray shot from an Octape's Beam Rifle.

>Enemy Forces: 5x ???-Class Ships (Astrarza-Class), 5x ???-Class Escort Ships (Kignus-Class), 35x Crouda, 45x Octape
>Enemy Total: 90 units

>Allied Forces: 1x Silver Horizon, 1x Varona, 40x Jenice w/ Hyper Bazooka, 20x Jenice Kai w/ Hyper Bazooka, 4x Crusader (Standard Loadout), 5x Peregrine, 2x Avenger Gundams, 2x Prima Gundams, 2x Varia Gundams, Pala Sys (G-Falcon), Jamil Neate (Divider Gundam), Kai (Gundam Belphegor), Shagia Frost (Gundam Virsago), Olba Frost (Gundam Ashtaron), Ennil El (Esperansa II), Witz Sou (Gundam Airmaster Burst), Roybea Loy (Gundam Leopard Destroy), Garrod Ran (Gundam Double X)
>Ally Total: 86 Units

Although you outnumbered the SRA MS-wise, the Croudas, the latest model MS built by the SRA is no joke; their armor was thick, and damn-near impenetrable, and as bulky as they appeared, these machines were nimble, and their Beam Launchers packed a nasty punch... this would be a difficult battle.

Considering that there are multiple characters accompanying you against the Croudas, they will be grouped into the following teams.

Team A, and the first number, will be Witz, Roybea, and Jamil.
Team B and the second number will be Shagia, Olba, and Kai.
Team C will be the last number, and will be composed of Garrod, Pala, and Ennil

>DC: 16
Critical Success: Team A
Success: Team C
Failure: You, Team B

You direct the bulk of the forces, along with the two Varia Gundams, against the SRA's Octapes. The Avengers, supported by the Crusaders, would attack the larger of their ships, while the Primas would tackle the smaller escort ships.

However, you, the Freeden Crew, as well as the Frost brothers, Kai, Pala, and Ennil would split into three teams and attack the Croudas. Team A, composed of Witz, Roybea and Jamil, Team B with the Frost brothers plus Kai, and Team C with Garrod, Pala, and Ennil, who would be supporting you in combat,

You fire off your Hyper Bazooka at several Croudas, but as powerful as it was, did little to damage these behemoths, and your secondary tactic of using your missile launchers did little to help the matter at hand. However, Garrod's discovery of their weak point being the large vernier on their torso swung things in your allies' favor. Team C took down 1 Crouda apiece, totalling to about 4 altogether, while Team B had trouble getting a bead on the agile new models of the SRA, only managing to land glancing blows with their bazookas. However, Team A fared far better, each member of the team taking down two Croudas apiece, totalling six kills.

You direct the Peregrine team to fall back and Protect thhe Varona, and order the Silver Horizon to support the Peregrines. In the meantime, you and the others continue hammering the enemy Croudas, bazooka rounds detonating spectacularly as they impact the front vernier of these machines. You and both Teams A and B score one kill each, but these pilots were getting trickier; they began using these beam cutter-type things on the wing binders of their Mobile Suits, and attempted to slice through their machines several times, forcing them on the defensive.

The group of Octapes that had been harassing the Varona were dealt with, and you shield your eyes when you take notice of two large, blinding explosions. After requesting a status report, one of the Avenger pilots reported that the destroyed ships contained some sort of highly explosive payload of some kind, which took out one of the Avengers and two Crusaders.

>>28571202

>Critical Failure: Team A

You break off from the group, and get in range of the enemy ships. You launch several rounds from your Hyper Bazooka, nailing one of the ships in the bridge, and several times in the engines, rendering it effectively useless. The Prima fall back and assist Satelicon's Jenices against the remaining Octapes, and before long, the enemy seems to on the verge of defeat... however, there's a handful of Croudas left that doesn't seem to want to give up, as one of them is engaging Jamil's Divider Gundam sans its Divider Shield, and the rest are doing their damnedest to prevent both Teams B and C from interfering, though Team B is making great progress on eliminating them. and both the Airmaster Burst and Leopard Destroy, although intact, are heavily damaged and not moving, much to the chagrin of their pilots, who are thankfully still alive.

However, the situation is only worsened when you see the remaining enemy ships unload whatever it was that they had stowed away. At least ten large missile-like objects were launched from beneath these ships, and on a collision course with Satelicon's asteroid base

You grimace, trying to get a bead on, and attempting to shoot down as many missiles as possible. It takes you, plus several Satelicon soldiers to successfully shoot down all ten, but in the process, you lose three Jenices, and two Jenice Kais, whose pilots were unfortunate enough to be caught in the detonation radius of some of the missiles.

As the remainder of the SRA's fleet flees the area, one of the ships is sunk by a shot from the remaining Avenger's Buster Rifle, wiping out a third of their remaining forces. Of course, any more attempts to thin out their ranks is left a failure as they go far beyond their range. It's enough for now; they've been beaten, and Satelicon still stands.

>>
With Lancerow Dawell captured and under joint custody between the ESTO and Satelicon, this has provided you with the opportunity to get information out of him, which he provided with little to no difficulty at all, surprisingly.

He had indeed been aware of the ships carrying the Photon Particle Missiles, but had believed it would have been a non-issue with the destruction of two of those ships, believing that the rest would follow. He had opposed the use of such inhumane weapons, and actively fought against Seidel Rasso's decision to risk the lives of his soldiers by using the previously untested weapons in battle.

He had confirmed Tiffa's safety, but had warned that Seidel Rasso would be bringing her along for the testing of their soon-to-be-completed Colony Laser.

If there was a good chance to get her back, it would either be during the Colony Laser's test, or wait until after they test it, in which case it would lead to the Earth being scorched from the massive laser cannon.

How will you approach the situation, Dave?

Oh, yeah. I've got a few of the old 1/144s. Maoh is a must now.

Don't think Option 2 could work (is Lancerow THAT important to swap for our little psycho with Rasso?) and 3 is very risky.
>>
Hey, didn't we scuttle one of their ships? The Photon Particle Missiles should still be aboard that one, iirc.

I say we use their own weapons against them, and have our forces keep them busy while we fire their own damn super missiles on the Colony Laser.

I'm not going to really be able to do the quest tonight at this rate, guys; gotta help look after my brother's kid. Little shit's a handful.

No problem.
Be sure to teach him the /m/an's way.

Are we really going Nightmare of Solomon on them?

We should keep one of those around for eventual reverse-engineering.

As for getting Tiffa back, let's first take out Garrod and Pala out there and threaten them with the Satellite Cannons. If they do call our bluff, we'll threaten them with the super-missiles as well - only this time, we'll say that the target is their HQ. Cover all our bases.

... I don't know how close the HQ is to civilian centers.
>>

No, man, we're not going to nuke them. Just use that as leverage - the threat of mutual destruction.
>>
>>28598589
They'll probably need a demonstration in order to take the threat seriously. Remember how in canon the SRA scoffed at the threat of the Double X until Garrod showed them that he didn't need a cooldown timer to fire a second shot?

We might also need to show that in addition to the Gundam Double X, we have a Gundam X with Bits that also have Satellite Cannons.

Probably. I guess we'll have Garrod on the Double X aim for that Colony Laser while Dave handles negotiations. Pala can do her job and fetch Tiffa if everything goes right.

Sorry I haven't gotten to you guys today; helping take care of my bro's kid has been time consuming, and draining.

On the bright side, all those episodes of SD Gundam Force I had on my computer came in handy. Maybe if he doesn't care about english being spoken and can deal with subtitles, I can introduce him to Gundam X or Build Fighters.

Nonetheless, tonight's not happening either. I'll see you guys on Friday, though.

Sure thing. See you on Friday.
