As you sit at a picnic table eating some manner of barely-identifiable fried food-on-a-stick you look around your surroundings. Stalls full of overpriced food, drinks and souvenirs: Check. Nearly two-dozen restored machines of war full of bright-eyed school children and appreciative veterans walking around admiring them: Check. A barely understandable voice announcing some tank demonstration in the background: Check.

You are Commander Russells of the M26E1 Pershing Heavy Tank "Black Jack" and under bright blue skies with a warm, early-fall breeze, it is, officially the first day of the Japanese University Senshado League. As you chew the last morsel of meat from the bamboo dowel, you look around as various teams and schools showed off their hardware- As the only tank not currently being cleaned and maintained for battle tomorrow, the I-Go had been chosen for Oorai's exhibit, with the Student Council talking up the crowd about the tank, the team and the school. In the other direction, a deligation from Saunders had brought out one of their Stuart Light Tanks, and just from where you're sitting you can see the distinct outline of a T-34's turret further along. "Just like one of the Tank Shows back home." Rose says from across the table.

You nod. "I haven't seen any chilidogs," you say, a bit more depressed about this fact than you probably should be. "That funnel cake stall looks interesting, though." Funnel cake has seemed to be the one universal constant to these sorts of affairs.

Well, if anyone's interested, someone's making a WoT-GuP crossover. Basically there's an alternative to Senshado called "Tank-craft" that is funded by the Wargaming League. Features an Ami Chouno who actually does something. Still in its early stages, but it's pretty interesting and it's not a simple rehash of the series.

Funnel Cake.

You don't quite remember yourself standing up, though you can remember Rose asking you something as you drift off towards the intoxicating, universal smell of cheap oil, pancake mix and powdered sugar. As you stand in line you stare up at the menu- they've got all the staples- Belgian chocolate, banana cream, raspberries. You nod in approval- even the Japanese with their frequently odd takes on western foods can't ruin something as simple and wonderful as funnel cakes.

As you drift forward, still staring up at the menu, though, you bump into someone in front of you. You're immediately shaken out of your daze, but before you get a chance to excuse yourself, the girl turns around and fixes you with a cruel gaze. "Watch it, foreigner." She sneers at you. "Stay out of people's way if you're going to stare up in the sky like an idiot."

You take a step back, mostly in surprise- the light-haired girl in a dark grey uniform was uncharacteristically rude by Japanese standards- Your mouth opens and closes a few times while your brain pieces things together.

>Excuse yourself politely- it's not worth making a scene.
>"The hell'd you just call me?"

You stare at her blankly. "WHAT? I'M SORRY." You say loudly in English. "FUNNEL CAKE?" You work to supress a smile- she wants to be rude to the dumb American? Time to play the part for her.

She stares at you with a look so dismissive, you can practically feel the weight of her hatred. "Stupid foreigner!" She hisses. "This is Japan- not your disgusting America. You probably don't even speak Japanese!" She reaches out and jabs a finger into your sternum and, in broken English repeats the catch-all, East Asian slur against Americans. "Yankee Go Home!"

You stare at her with mock horror, but feel the smirk breaking through. You are preparing to translate the phrase 'u mad'? into Japanese, but the angry platinum blond harpy is interrupted. "Erika." A lower, calmer voice says, cutting through the din of the crowd despite how quietly she says it.

Erika straightens. "Yes Commander?" She says crisply. ooking beyond 'Erika' you see a girl- short, dark hair with the same dark grey uniform- she looks very familiar and you mind races to figure out where you've seen her.

"Is that any way to treat a guest to senshado?" She says, before turning to you. "I apologize for my subordinates words." She says in lightly-accented English. "She is a good tanker, but is easily angered. I hope you enjoy the tournement." She bows slightly. "I am Maho Nishizumi- please, allow me pay for your food as an apology."

You give a short, unpracticed bow. "Oh? Thank you!" You say in English before reaching out a hand to shake- she obliges and you introduce yourself. "You really don't need to pay for anything though- it was just a misunderstanding." You smile broadly and her before nodding to Erika.

Maho smiles back. "Please- I insist. You are a guest to our country and tournement, it would be my pleasure." You hadn't gotten much about Miho's family so you never knew what to expect, but you weren't expecting her to be... friendly.

You can't argue with that- the only thing better that Funnel Cake is free Funnel Cake. "So, are you a tanker?" You ask, as the three of you wait in line, Erika standing behind her commander, visible fuming. You don't look at her, afraid that you'll crack a smile or do something else to reveal something.

Maho nods. "I am. I command the lead Panzer for Kuromuromine's senshado team." She's exceedingly polite, but underneith you can feel her sizing you up- she knows something but she doesn't know what. Yet. Eventually you get your funnel cake, Raspberry and Chocolate Cream. (Maho politely declines a serving herself.) You could stay and talk- maybe Maho will let something slip?

On the other hand if she's as smart as Miho, you might let something slip instead.

Be hilarious if he had banged Miho's grandmother back during his stint in Japan during the Korean War. Also possibly Mako's grandmother.

Happily munching on your funnel cake, you finally thank Maho and excuse yourself- the longer you're around Miho's older sister the more likely you are to get made as a rival tanker. So you quickly disappear into the crowd- heading towards the sound of loud laughter and even louder music- in this case Rock-and-Roll.

Between the music and the funnel cake, you feel at home already. "Hi there!" A tall, well-endowed blond chirps as you approach the exhibit- it never ceases to surprise you how big even little tanks like the Stuart are. "I'm Kay! Have any questions about our tank?" She says. You try to avoid looking her up and down, but you peripheral vision is more than enough to give you a good look at her long legs, short shorts and tight t-shirt.

You reach out and shake her hand, introducing yourself. "...So do you use these in the games?" You already know the answer, but its best to keep up appearances- just another foreign tourist, here to take in the culture of Japan.

She nods. "Occasionally- though not as much as the old girl probably deserves!" She says, happily patting the side of the Light Tank. "We use them as screeners and flankers against certain schools." She says. "Great against lighter armor, but they just aren't a match against Tigers or IS's..."

>>
>>28592668
I was asking questions in the other thread about the different types of Senshado, and it seems like American Senshado is like WoT where you have guns mounted on tanks that were never designed to accept them.
>>
>>28592700
>M4 with 120mm smoothbore and turbine
>>
>>28592700
And what does that have to do with using a TD that has insane straightline speed in a high mobility scouting role instead of its intended purpose, that of strategic movements to intercept Blitzkrieg armoured thrusts?

I'll take a Chaffee or a Stuart either M3 or M5 over the Hellcat in the scout role anyday.

To rebut your point of differnet types of senshado, I'm a bit rusty on it, but you COULD do some WoT mods/upgrades for certain tanks. The Hellcat for example, they actually did take a turret and 90mm setup from the M36 Jackson and fit it, though by htat late in the war, they just built more M36 Jackson's.
>>
>>28592715
Fuck no, that's stupid.
>>
>>28592715
The tank would probably tip over if it was used broadside.
>>
>>28592780
Nothing apart from using an object for something other than the intended role.
It also reminded me of WoT because the Hellcat is ridiculous in all roles.
>>
>>28592780
Would an M8 be senshado legal? It's fully enclosed but doesn't have tracks, and would be even more stealthy and fast than a stuart.

>>
>>28592829
No. the M8 greyhound. Wheeled scout vehicle with the 37 from a stuart.
>>
>>28592802
Fair enough. Though as a Hellcat player in WoT, they do not scout very well. Not being able to turn and being rather large compared to any of the French or German scouts.... Urgh.

>>28592811
>>28592856
That is interesting. I would say no because it does not feature tracks, though it is still an Armoured Fighting Vehicle. It can't fall into the broad definition of "tank" because it has wheels.
>>
>>28592888
Just don't go into the category of tanks that can operate as wheeled and tracked vehicles, then there might be a huge rule lawyers fight.
>>
>>28592888

Yeah, but you've got great camo and unlike scouts, you can inflict some real damage with your excellent firepower.
>>

>>

>>
>>28592947
I would assume passively.

Get in a nice flanking spot with Camo and Binocs and just light shit up.
>>
>>28592930
Oh passively they are great, I won't argue that. I always think scout = aggressive, though that's just my preferred playstyle. Then again, I tend to run historical Hellcat with 76mm M1A3. Allegations of HAX are delicious on her fire rate!
>>
>>28592947
both
>>
>>28593020
Is the M1A2 76mm on the Sherman Jumbo worth it over the 105mm?
>>
>>28593161
you shouldnt even be considering the 105 anymore, and fuck, it was only ever useful before the HEAT shell nerf and as a seal clubber
>>
>>28593161
Depends on your playstyle. Derp will eat any teir 5's and is an alpha weapon, the 76mm M1A2 is a DPS RoF Monster that can and will pen up to 7's and 8's side/rear.
>>
>>28593161
And lose the retard strong first turret? Hell no, 105 all day erryday.
>>
>>28593161
Just use the M1A1.
>>
>>28593161

Hells yes.

The 105 hits like a motherfucker, but it shares the same weakness as most other 105 derpguns - it ain't penetrating shit. You get reduced to plinking away at anything t6 or higher, and there's a number of hard bastards at t5 who can take the hits as well.

This goes for pretty much every 105 howitzer. At tier 3, its a monstrosity. At tier 4, its retarded alpha but there's things it'll bounce off or that will get to shoot back. At tier 5 and above, get used to seeing bounces (or with the HE, nickel and diming things to death).

You look the Stuart up and down. "She an original?" You ask, allowing your savvy to show.

Kay nods. "Sure is," she says, happily patting the tank. "Left behind in the Phillipines after the war- we had to find her a new turret and gun since she'd been converted into a tractor." You nod- towards the end of the war in the Pacific, the Stuart was being phased out of service in favor of the Chaffee and Sherman and it tended be a lot cheaper to leave the older tanks where they were left than bring them home for decommissioning. "But that all happened years ago before I was here..."

"I heard that in Japan, a lot of Senshado teams prefer a tank that actually saw service..." You say, remembering what Holly had said a while back during the interview. "Something about fighting spirit?"

Kay laughs a bit. "Yeah, I guess there's something to that." She admits. "Though really, why make a new reproduction when there's still old tanks sitting around to be fixed up?" She says, gazing up at the tank's turret.

The moment is then wrecked. "KAY!" Anzu shouts from behind you. "It's been forever!"

"Anzu!" Kay says, her smile widening into a grin. "So Oorai's got a tank team, now?" She says, obviously ribbing the class President.

"Sure do! And you better not underestimate us tomorrow!" Anzu says, coming up along side of you. "I see you've met our Pershing's commander!"

Kay winks at you. "I thought so..." She says warmly. "...We tankers can smell our own! So you've got a Pershing, hm?" She says turning to you.

Lee is a second line support tank, play it like a TD and don't engage under 300m. Great tank. B1 sucks balls, good luck with it. T-28 is sniper. As far back as you can.

>>28593837
Not that I didn't learn to fight them, more as whenever I encountered them I was usually in a teir 6 or 7. My King Tiger had no troubles nomming them at all.
>>
>>28593861
I went Lee and then T1 heavy. That way you get the 76mm once you hit the M6 and don't get fucked.
It's also a pretty good carry tank because of how easy it is to angle and the huge tracks.
>>
>>28593861
Hell no it's not alright, not even if you play it as a TD. It has no armor, no speed, no camo, no accuracy, mediocre (at best) penetration, and a fuckhuge profile. The DPM looks good on paper, but that doesn't mean shit if it can't hit or pen anything. It literally does nothing well.
>>
>>28593796

I actually managed to kill one with my Nashorn earlier this week- He was at about 200m so I couldn't aim for weakspots, so I just started firing center-of-mass rounds and all but one went right through.

I do find the B1 the most fun of the three.

Not very often, but once in a while you get to toptank in a match that isn't saturated with Hetzers or the new Marder offshoot. And then its a hilarious - if completely impotent - brick that soaks half the teams firepower before it dies.
>>
>>28594010
I swear SPGs are one of the worst things in the game. Especially SPGs with a higher RoF than maxed out repair.
>>
>>28594039
The B1 is one of those wierd tanks, that in 9/10 games gets ass-pillaged by everything it meets, but during those special 1/10, you become the unstoppable avatar of death, and everything becomes worth it.
>>
>>28594042
eh, they are manageable, if you find yourself getting killed by one, especially permatracked, then its pretty clear your in a terrible position.
>>
>>28594067
Many french tanks are like that, take the Duck for instance. You weep tears of blood when you get thrown into high tier games, but when you are in the top third of the list you are untouchable.
>>
>>28594067
I find it best to team up with a hetzer or Marder and kill everything between you.
>>
>>28594120
Ideally something with a High-alpha, High-pen, because the B1's gun, when it penetrates, is the machinegun of death.

Say you've used the Repair kit, you go to peak with your T29 and its 100% Repair Skill. You're spotted and a FV304 starts wailing on you, you've been tracked and no longer have a repair kit.
Even though nothing is going to pen your turret, you're still going to die from the rain of HE.

After this happened I tried to drop my Extinguisher for another Repair Kit.
No dice.

You can't help but be a little proud- but also a bit impressed. "So... First Darjeeling, and now Kay... Are there any senshado commanders you aren't friends with?"

The T57 was based on the M103 Chassis (I can go into more detail about the Chassis if anyone wants)
The automatic loader consisted of an 8 round rotary drum magazine below the gun and a rammer just behind the weapon which pivoted between positions to align with the gun and magazine.
The magazine and rammer were intended for fixed ammunition, but an alternate design was prepared for use with separated rounds. In operation, the hydraulically actuated rammer withdrew a round from the magazine and at the same time ejected the cartridge case from the previously fired shot through the port in the top rear of the roof.
The rammer then moved into alignment with the gun breech and rammed the new round into the weapon tripping the extractor and closing the breech.
Firing the gun actuated a toggle switch on the breech ring which operated the hydraulic cylinder that opened the breech. The empty case was then ejected into the trough back of the round holder assembly.
Any one of the three types of the ammunition could be selected from the magazine by the gunner or tank commander.

Looks like BJ has finished up so I soon.

The three man turret consisted of the gunner and loader on the right and left sides respectively and the tank commander on the right, behind the gunner.
A Cupola over the tank commander's position was fitted with 6 T36 periscopes and an M2 antiaircraft machine gun. A separate hatch was installed on the left side of the turret roof for the loader.. In addition, a large power operated section of the turret roof which contained both the Cupola and the Loader's hatch could be opened for easy access to the turret.

The T43E1 hull had stowage modifications to accommodate ten rounds of 120mm, bringing the total to 18 rounds. The Driver occupied his normal position in the T43E1 hull.

Progress was slow in the T57 project because design problems and delays in obtaining some of the required government furnished equipment. The latter reflected changing priorities during this period to newer, lighter tank chassis armed with more powerful weapons.

A T57 turret was installed on a T43E1 chassis with registration number 30170207, but work on the was ended before the equipment could be tested.
Ordnance Committee action cancelled the development on 17 Jan 1957 and scrapped both T57 turrets. The two T43E1 chassis were returned to supply.

There's also the T58 based on the same principle as the T57, but I'll do it another day.

If anything, please tell us about tanks that aren't in WoT yet.

Can't. Mostly because I'm pretty sure WG went through the book I'm looking at right now and pulled all the tanks from it.
The best I can do is variations on the tanks already in WoT. Specifically M4s and M26

I'll do it another time though. It's pretty late

> Andorra
Never even heard of it. How many of these countries still exist
>>
>>28594944
>>28594905
That's right, they haven't put in the T92 yet
>>
>>28594914
Are you the guy making European Battalion Tanking?

>>28594944
Andorra is a small principality between Spain and France. The people there are dirty.
>>
>>28595139
Yes, and floundering in the sea of "Too many countries" and "Not enough unpopulated plains"

Was actually going to ask for help on this thread but came in just after NEXT TIME.
>>
>>28595316
I'm still here. What do you need help with?

Also, I don't remember if yours was going to be writefagging or not.
>>
>>28595316
Middle of the day in Europe... You might find some people around ;)

Also, I love this idea, even though I imagine that some countries might only be able to contribute to the batallion level by combining schools (I can very well imagine the nordic countries having several schools that compete at company level between each other, and then work together when playing against other countries).
>>
>>28595408
I agree with this guy.

Take football/soccer for example. They have different teams for regional and national levels.

Also, as far as >not enough unpopulated plains
Tankery obviously won't have popped up overnight. You can say that some areas have been set aside as dedicated tankery fields. Or you could just go the other way and do what the show does, where you evacuate the area of people and then compensate for damages.
>>
>>28595467
Yeah, Eurotankery will probably be a bit more terrain intensive, perhaps with less emphasis on long range tanks as a result, prefering things with thick armor that can brawl it out in the cities...

Also, since many of the tanks were invented here, I somehow imagine that most countries would see it as a point of pride to have at least one "native" tank in their line-up, at the very least in international competitions. This goes for the smaller countries as well mind you (Hungarians with Toldi's, Swedes with Stridsvagn m/41 or m/42, Italians with P40s...)
>>
>>28595408
The idea was that each individual school would have maybe a platoon 3 or 5 tanks strong (depending on whether it's USSR/NATO doctrine they use), and each region/city etc. would hold competitions to see which schools get to form part of a company, then a nationwide tournament to see who qualifies for the Euro league.

>>28595467
I hit upon the idea of the association leasing fields out from local farms in winter/autumn after the harvest, but I'm not sure if that'll work in the warmer regions.

I was also going through the list of abandoned towns to find an urban area (Vivikonna for example). I've set the battlefield sizes at 10-15km long and just as wide, but I'm not sure if that'll be large enough for 140 tanks to run around in.

>>28595495
Maybe those tanks as mascots? I honestly can't see any Italian tank standing up to a T-54.
>>
>>28595605
You may want to up that size to around 20km, although that's getting fucking large.

Also, you don't feel like imposing restrictions on the number of late war tanks that can be used?
>>
>>28595723
I honestly don't know. If I put restrictions in, the match just becomes a smaller scale late-war fight happening in the middle of a mid-war fight., so a significant fraction of the team becomes irrelevant.
>>
>>28595903
Maybe a limit on how much frontal armour you're allowed?
>>
>>28596040
That's discrimination as certain people would not be able to participate.
>>
One solution to that whole T-54 debacle might be self-policing and sportsmanship. Everyone agrees that that tank is fucking stupid, and thus noone brings it, since a victory by that would be hollow and cost the school all respect from everyone...
>>
>>28596283
I just based the entire meta around it and had schools pick tanks that would be able to counter them, and used that for a basis for the backroom politicking by the French and Germans to change the cutoff to "In service by V-E".

Super Nubshing is OP though.
