You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You rouse slowly to the smell of pancakes. You sit up in your bed, yawning, and then you find Kitten sound asleep next to you in your bed. You also find Lisa and Ramirez asleep on the floor next to the bed. You look over to your kitchen and see Nancy, clad in shirt, skirt, and apron apparently making pancakes. She’s humming along to the tune of “Angel Band”.

This morning just got incredibly better.

You gently throw your covers off and stretch your limbs, letting the blood start flowing normally. Yesterday was quite the day at the pool, but now today is another day of Shore Leave and practicing Tankery of course.

You also remember that you bought an M26E1 yesterday, you haven’t told Octavia of that yet, but maybe she’ll be impressed.

Nancy walks over, a platter of pancakes, syrup and orange juice ready. “Good morning, President! Did you sleep well?”

You nod, taking a plate of pancakes and a glass of OJ. “Slept like a corpse! You know, I had the funniest dream actually.”

Nancy asks, “Really? What about?”

You open your mouth to say it, then you realize, “… I can’t remember. But I’m sure it was just wacky and way out there. Something to do with Romans I think.”

Nancy nods, placing down plates for the now waking Lisa and Ramirez. “Well, I think that’s just lovely, President.” She pats your head. “Go ahead and eat up, I’ll just be freshening up.”

With that, Nancy takes off her apron and starts undoing her shirt as she heads into the bathroom.

Lisa arches her back, groaning as she wakes from her slumber. “Whooo boy. That was a nice sleep.” She looks over at the plate of pancakes. “Oooh! Pancakes!”

So what do you want to get done first this morning?

You gently shake Kitten. “Hey, Kitten, wake up.”

“You didn’t seem to have too many problems waking up early a couple of days ago.”

“I’m like a politician, I flip flop.”

You roll your eyes. “Come on, Kitten. Nancy’s made pancakes!” Kitten moans as she turns over to you, pouting tiredly. You get down to her level. “Come on… healthy girls eats her breakfast every morning.”

Kitten sighs. “Fine…” She sits up, and you put a plate of pancakes in her lap. With that done, you decide to start eating breakfast yourself and wow these pancakes are good. You quickly eat up your pancakes, savoring every little bite of them, then down the OJ.

it came in late in the war to make any significant difference. Is comparable to the Tiger Tank in which was a technological dead end.

They worked out most of the kinks during the korean war but was eventually replaced with Patton tanks as soon as their were available. This should tell you how 'effective' this tank is.

True, but Pershing tanks are rare, I'm frightened on how much all this will cost u considering we have other tanks that we need to get and more crews to man them. They will require some of the funding too.

The Pershing is a long term project in which we may or may not get around due to these circumstances.

Eh, might as well let Nancy hold the shower for now. You can always freshen up later. You seat yourself on the edge of your bed, looking at the TV.

There’s no real interesting news today, but what really catches your attention is the Tankery Program. Specifically, they talk about the upcoming World Cup Tournament, what kinds of teams will be fielded, and what kind of tanks they might see, but they come to an interesting discussion on Tankery.

One of the analysts says, “… and the Japanese Nationals really proved that the era of teams fielding powergamed and minmaxed line ups is just about over. Black Forest Peak’s loss despite a numerical and technical advantage has more or less struck a huge huge blow in the Tankery metagame.”

The other analyst says, “I fully agree. I can’t wait to see what kinds of teams we’ll be seeing in the World Cup. Because like you said, a lot of teams are afraid of starting up because of the whole minmaxing situation that perpetuated the 90s and such for quite some time. Now, we just might see a lot of new beginner teams, alongside returning veterans like Ooarai Academy, Black Forest, those Japanese teams. We’ll be seeing teams like Walter Christie who’ve decided to enter the Classic scene as well, and I hear talk of a new school that’s just revived their team like Ooarai.”

The first analyst says, “Lafayette Girls Academy, they actually held a showmatch earlier with Robert Heinlein, very close match. They lost but it was really something to watch.”

Lisa claps, cheering. “WE MADE THE NEWS!”

You slap Kitten on the back. “We made the fucking news, Kitten!”

Kitten laughs. “Can’t believe it, they mentioned us!”

Nancy pokes her head out of the bathroom, her hair still wet. “What’s going on?”

Shermans is what won us the war though. They could be very versatile and have decent speed, which makes it a decent flag tank. Pershings are more like heavy hitters in which the KV-1 and T-36s could fill these roles.

Not to mention it's a vintage post war pershing. I can't even imagine how much this will set us back trying to even get it to ww2 specs. '

There are more conventional tanks in our rosters that need upgrades which the funds could be better used for.

Even buying this tank took half our funding for pete's sake!
>>
>>28717403
We bought a super pershing, not a normal pershing. Once we remove the gun and replace it with the WW2 era 90mm it becomes tankery legal, I believe.
>>

“We made the news, Nancy! I’d rewind it but it’s TV you know?”

Nancy smiles. “Lovely!”

Ramirez says, “They only mentioned us once.”

“Well, Buzz Killington,” says Lisa to Ramirez, “can you at least be proud that we were mentioned in mass media? People might take notice of us! Send donations and sponsorships our way. Stuff like that!”

Nancy walks out of the bathroom, drying off her hair, towel wrapped around her body. “Still, it’s quite the thing. I don’t think I’ve ever been on the news before!”

You say, “Most people go their entire lives without ever being on the news.” You stand up. “Anyway, finished with your shower?”

Nancy nods. “Go ahead!”

With that, you strip down and enter your shower. The News, even before the School Newspaper could even publish their first articles. What a hell of a thing that is. You finish off your shower and then dress yourself into a shirt and skirt. You walk out of the bathroom and sit down next to Kitten on your bed.

You got some time before practice, anything you want to get done?

I agree the early shermans were shit compared to later tanks but the Jumbo and easy 8 were some of the most effective tanks during the war.

A 90mm gun doesn't mean anything is we can't effectively position it. It's top speed are only on roads and has its off road performance is in the single digits! that will give the teams some notion of where we will move our tank and effectively counter it.

The same thing with the tiger, massive gun, heavy armor, but was slow if not on a road.

KV-1 uses a ZIS-5. It's not a heavy hitter, it's the same gun that was used for T-34/76. Plus, it's slow. Don't know what do you mean by T-36.

“Yeah… you think you could help with getting your friends aboard?”

“Ah. I knew this call was coming. Well, sure I’d be glad to help.”

One of the reasons we replaced it with the Patton was due to the Pershing's technical issues. The Pershing was more or less a prototype on how to create a tank with a heavy gun.

Again, if the expert agrees with our purchase, I'll drop the subject but if there is concern with a ww2 spec pershing or rather trying to get parts to do conversions. Then there will be problems.

“Well, I have a good rapport with Bolter I suppose. Think we can pay her a visit?”

“Yeah, sure. She’s actually in the Brig at the moment.”

“… why?”

“Speeding.”

“Alright, see you there.”

You hang up and look over at your crew. “Right, girls, let’s saddle up. We gotta visit make a visit to the Brig today?”

Lisa raises an eyebrow. “Why?”

You say, “Because a good friend of ours happens to know a lot about tanks and she’s interred there for some time, we have to convince her to join us.”

“Ooohh, the Brig.” Nancy looks concerned. “I’ve never been there.”

Lisa says, “Most Academyship Students don’t go to the Brig if they value their futures.”

“Anyway,” you clap your hands. “Saddle up.”

All of you head out of your dorm and into your Sherman. You sit atop the turret as Lisa powers the engine up then rolls the Sherman out into the street. Kitten navigates Lisa towards the Brig, and within just a few minutes, you arrive at there.

The Brig is an interesting place. It serves as the central hub for most Law Enforcement Studies students, including their advisors. LES students take their classes there. It also functions as… well a brig. More or less, it’s the Academyship functional equivalent to a County police station.

The Sherman pulls into the parking lot, and you see Octavia walk over.

“Hey, how are you doing?” she asks.

You head down the hallway as you crew gawk in awe of the surprisingly orderly and clean brig. Nancy says, “It’s so organized! I’ve never seen anything like it!”

With that, you find Pinkerton and O’Bannon waiting outside the Prison Cell entrance. “Ah. For once we weren’t looking for you,” says Pinkerton. “Come on, follow us.” She motions you to follow, which you do.

The Prison cells are mostly empty, save for a few students serving time for infractions incurred during Shore Leave. You arrive at the far end of the cells, and see Joanna sitting against the wall, bouncing a ball against the opposite wall like the Cooler King.

“You got fifteen minutes to visit,” says O’Bannon. They then leave you.

Octavia taps the cell. “Hey, Joanna.”

Joanna says, “Hey, Otto. What’s up?” She looks over and then spots you. “Oh. This.” She sighs. “How are you doing, Gertrude? Come to recruit me?”

Guys. Buy a Grouser Kit and Appliqué Armor Kit for a medium tank.

Believe me, this will be a good idea in the long run.
>>
>>28718592
Well maybe if you explained it...
>>
>>28718627
From THE SHOP:

"PARTS are minor upgrades or additions to a tank, and relatively inexpensive in comparison to everything else. Parts can be anything from uparmoring Appliqué Armor Kits to entire engines and guns. Certain parts can create discounts on conversion kits depending on market price."

Focus on:
>Certain parts can create discounts on conversion kits depending on market price.
>>
>>28718592
Grousers are a situtional thing, but the imp. suspension and armor kits should go on as we can.
>>
>>28717146
>>28717083
I support this general idea. The Pershing (We could call it The Marshall) is a tank worthy of commanding battles and the Panther may be a bit much for inexperienced crews to handle, especially an unmotivated one.
>>

“Well, yes I am.”

Joanna catches the ball and stands up, then walks over to the cell bars. She looks over at Octavia, frowning. “So. Swearing not to do Tankery anymore not mean anything to you, Octavia?”

Octavia crosses her arms and says, “Grow up, Joanna. It wasn’t our fault, you should move past it.”

“It was our fault.” Joanna throws the ball onto the bed, then sits down on the bed, sulking. “You can’t just ignore it.”

“I’m not gonna ignore it,” says Octavia. “I’m gonna learn from it.”

Joanna sighs, shaking her head. “So, you came to bring me back on, is that it?”

You nod. “Yeah. If you want to. I mean, the Tankery Program is really going somewhere, we’re eight crews strong now, we’ve got new tanks like the Pershing-“

“Hold on,” Joanna stops you, her mood going from sad to confused. “You bought a Pershing?”

Octavia looks over at you, confused as well. “You bought a Pershing?”

You nod. “An M26E1 they said.”

“… You bought a Pershing that isn’t Tankery legal?” says Joanna. She laughs a little. “Wow.”

You shrug. “Hey, I still have a lot to learn. Is the Pershing a bad tank?”

Octavia smiles a bit, somewhat out of pity. “It’s not bad! Just… it’s not bad.”

Joanna shakes her head. “What a Commander.” She stands up, gripping a cell bar. “You know what. I’d love to help you but… I can’t.”

“Now, Joanna-“ Octavia is interrupted by Joanna.

“I can’t because I’m awaiting my expulsion hearing.”

I tried to pitch the applique armor for the Sherman and KV before the Heinlein match.
No takers though, and most prefered the spaced armor kit for the KV nayway.

Octavia gasps. “You’re getting expelled?”

“Maybe. My disciplinary record is a mile long, and they have plenty of reasons to expel me.”

You sigh, rubbing the bridge of your nose. “Goddamn, Bolter. What’d you do?”

She shrugs. “A lot.”

“Well,” you say. “I don’t know. Maybe we can work something out, I mean-“

Pinkerton and O’Bannon walk back in. “We might be of some assistance.” You look over. Oh god, not this shit again. “Bolter is indeed awaiting her expulsion hearing, but-“ she snaps her finger, “I think we can work something out. If you’re interested.”

A grouser kit is basically like chains for your tires, it increases traction in otherwise slippery or loose material.
An applique armor kit would provide extra armor plating onto what the tank already has. Like a suit of armor on a robot.

The grouser kit sounds like a GOOD fuckin' idea for any of our tanks that aren't good at off-roading.
>>
>>28718697

Yeah, I was wondering why they didn't include Bolter for "tank rehab". I assumed the delinquents had worse pending cases than Bolter, but if the situation is like this, we'll have to take it.

When we get the Ace crew members, I say we split them off as specialist instructors for each crew member type.

So, Bolter would take the drivers and coach them up exclusively once a week. Octavia the Radio Ops and so on and so forth.
>>
>>28718697
>Well?
Uh, pretty sure this is all on Bolter herself given we obviously wouldn't oppose her doing tankery
>>
>>28718741
Our bigger tanks are pretty good in that regard, as they're generally equipped with fairly wide tracks.
The Sherman could use a set, but the really light ones can go without.

You sigh. “What do you have in mind, Pinkerton?”

Pinkerton rubs her hands together, thinking. “Well, the reason she’s about to undergo her expulsion hearing, unlike Luciano and her cronies, is because her disciplinary record has pretty much reached levels of, ‘Why the fuck are you still here’ kinds of levels.”

“Yep,” says O’Bannon. “But, me and Pinkerton here will be willing to help you get out of that by simply rescheduling the hearing until say… March. By which she’ll have plenty of time to do your Tankery thing.”

You cross your arms. “What’s the catch?”

Pinkerton and O’Bannon look at each other. “Simple.” Pinkerton pulls out a piece of paper. “This is a letter stating that you were wrong about us taking bribes. All of you have to do is sign it, our advisors will look over it. They’ll promote us back to Shift leaders. We can all go about our merry way. Deal?”

“I’m gonna have to refuse. I’m sorry.”

Pinkerton and O’Bannon look at each, then glare at you. “Well then,” says O’Bannon as she folds the letter up and puts it back in her pocket. “I suppose neither of us will mutually benefit from such a deal.”

You shrug. “Whatever.”

Pinkerton says, “Right, let’s get outta here.” With that Pinkerton and O’Bannon leave, leaving you with very few options.

Bolter sighs. “Well, got any bright ideas?”

You say, “I’ll come up with something.”

Octavia says, “You better.” She checks the time. “Our fifteen minutes are up. Listen, Joanna, please. I hope you can move on, okay?”

Joanna looks down at the ground. “Whatever.”

With that, you, your crew, and Octavia leave the Prison cells and return to the Brig’s foyer area. You sigh, what else could-

“Psst. You.” You look over. It’s O’Brian, conspicuously without O’Hara as well. She’s standing by the hallway into the Hall Monitor offices. “Come over here.”

There's always the option of asking Mr. Mishka on how buying those parts might contribute towards the price of tank upgrades.

If we can't afford to buy the full package, then I'd rather reap some minor benefits from the applique armor.
Maybe it would have salvaged us the match against Ace by withstanding at least one shot from the Chaffee, but who knows now? All we can do iis improve our tanks little by little with what budget we have.

“Sure.”

Thus, you enter O’Brian’s office alone with her. The office is small, with only two desks and a filing cabinet, along with two computers for O’Hara and O’Brian. “Take a seat,” she says. You do, and O’Brian sits at her desk. “Now. I hear you need to get Bolter out of the cells she can do Tankery for a while, is that correct?”

You nod. “That’s correct. You willing to help me?”

“That all depends,” O’Brian says as she leans back. She seems uncharacteristically not-sleepy today. “Are you willing to help me?”

You shrug. “What do you need?”

O’Brian leans forward, complete seriousness in her face. “O’Hara’s got a crush on you, she’s a lesbian.”

You immediately go red with embarrassment. “What?! She- What? I- What?”

“Was it not obvious?”

“… well now that you mention it, maybe. But what does that have to do with anything?”

O’Brian shrugs. “Oh it’s simple…” She leans back again, a blush evident on her cheeks. “… I need your help asking her to Homecoming.”

“…” What the fuck is going on. “… Do I look like Cupid to you?”

It's an all-girls school. The lesbians have a glorious time, once they get comfortable, the bi's join in, and a good chunk of the rest become situationally homosexual. This is not a new thing, it's a well-observed phenomenon on all-girl campuses.

“Let’s just say I’m having a very interesting lunch tomorrow and leave it at that.” Your stomach growls, speaking of lunch. “By the way, can we perhaps stop by for lunch on our way to Practice?”

With that, all of you head and mount up on the Sherman. Octavia sits atop the turret next to you as stand turned out. There’s only one good place to get a fast cheap lunch.

“Hi, welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?” says the worker.

You tell Lisa to idle the engine a little and even you have a little trouble hearing the worker. “Yeah! Can I get four double cheeseburgers, and uh… a Caesar salad. A Big Mac too. Five orders of medium fries, and Five medium cokes?”

“What?”

Oh boy.

After repeating yourself for a couple of times, the Sherman pulls through the drive-thru then up to the serving window. Lisa turns out the hatch to get the food.

Yeah, that I’m not going to tell you because surprise is part of the fun of management.

The Sherman pulls into the Sports Warehouse, you turn out of the command hatch, noticing a few things.

One: There appear to be a lot more students here than you think there are in the Tankery Program.

Two: They’re dressed out in Lafayette Girls Academy sports jerseys and uniforms you don’t remember seeing since the 80s.

Three: The Sports Warehouse is now packed with all kinds sports equipment for sports like gymnastics, baseball, ultimate Frisbee, curling, soccer, basketball, and even fucking Tennis of all things.

Strange. The Sherman parks next to all the tanks and you hop out. You also find the Freshmen and the Aviators have arrived a little early today.

Cathy and Marina come over to greet you. “Hey,” says Marina. “What’s up?”

“Doing fine, you two.” You look over at all the chattering and idle students. “Who are these guys?”

Cathy says, “Those are the basketball, ultimate Frisbee, Golf, Tennis, soccer, flag football, volleyball, beach volleyball, field hockey, ice hockey, curling, baseball, softball, lacrosse, gymnastics, rock climbing, and track teams. And their equipment too.”

You noticed. You especially noticed that all their equipment nearly takes up half the Sports Warehouse. “Why are they here?”

Marina says, “Fredendall’s been reviving a lot of the Sports clubs and telling them they have free reign inside of the Sports Warehouse.” She frowns. “Shame really. We had to move our GeeBee out because gymnastics needed a place to put their stuff.”

You sigh. “Well then. I guess this is Fredendall’s way of saying fuck you then.”

Cathy and Marina shrug. “Hey,” says Cathy. “We don’t know what you two got against each other.”

You wave them off. “Yeah, don’t worry about it.”

“Anyway,” says Marina. “We heard the Freshmen named their tank. So we did too.” She waves her hand over to the KV-1S. “Gertrude, say hello to Chuck.”

“So, what are you all doing here?”

One of the kids who you’ve identified as Jessie Owens says, “We’re all just sitting around waiting for practice to start, get where we’re practicing sorted out, stuff like that.”

You nod. “Okay, I can understand that. But you know…” you wave over at the tanks. “Our tanks take up a lot of space. Plus we have more tanks coming on the way. You think maybe you could make some room or something?”

Owens says, “Do you see any place to make room?”

… Now that you think about it, no. “Alright, fair point. But you know, well- What sport you play?”

“Track.”

“Okay, well…” You sigh. You really don’t want have to evict them all because they all actually seem genuinely enthusiastic about having sports again. “Whatever, I’ll figure something out.”

Owens nods, smiling. “Okay. Sorry about taking up so much room.”

With that, the rest of your crews arrive, surprised at the huge amount of space lost.

“Hey, Principal Tennyson, just calling to let you know-“

I’m not saying I support Fredendall in this, but I suppose this now makes me think we need a bigger sports warehouse.”

“You think?”

“Well, power through it. I’ll have the faculty cancel practice for today except for the Tankery Program, and me and the sports advisors will figure something out. I’ll keep in touch.”

“Thanks, Principal.”

With that, the Sheridan arrives as usual, but instantly crashes into a few boxes of sports equipment. Dubois turn outs and says, “Oh. We hit something.” She looks over at you all.

With that, the Sports kids all return home, disappointed that their various practices are canceled. You feel a bit sad, but at least you’re back to doing tanks. All of your tanks are arranged in a wedge formation, rolling down the Sportsfield.

Dubois says over the radio, “Open formation!”

You shout, “Open formation!”

The formation quickly begins spread out a bit. The Delinquents and the Merchants lag behind a bit, but otherwise get used to it. They’re learning at least.

Dubois says, “Close formation!”

“Close formation!”

This is where things start falling apart. Immediately the Delinquents accidentally PIT maneuver the Stuart, causing them to spin out and hit the Sentinel. On the other side of the formation, the Rifle team ends up slowing down too hard and ends up accidentally backing into the Churchill, causing a bit of a wreck and a track to be thrown.

You sigh.

“Alright, girls, simple as pie, just fire at the targets. You may fire when ready!”

The targets in this case are cardboard Valiant tanks on the far end of the Sportsfield, with your tanks on the other end. You sit in the command chair, peering through the periscope at the distant target.

“Alright, Nancy,” you say. “Fire when ready.”

Nancy nods, looking through the gunsights, slightly adjusting aim by mere centimeters.

You see the Delinquents fire first. Their shot surprisingly plows right through the target. The other teams also have a good time of actually hitting the targets. Nancy fires, and it hits the turret square on.

“Nice job,” you say. “That’s definitely a kill, Nancy.”

Nancy giggles, happy. “Thank you!”

> Combat Theory

With the field practices out of the way, you all return to the books. Chairs have been assembled to allow everyone a place to sit as Dubois gives her lecture on Combat Theory.

“Right, there’s a camouflage and cover known as Hull-down and turret-down. It’s quite simple, you hide your either your whole tank or just the entire hull from enemy view, presenting a very small target a target that isn’t even there. Hull-down has many tactical advantages which includes the most important, being able to fire at your enemy without him being return effective fire back.”

Ashleigh raises her hand. “Are there other ways of covering our tank?”

Dubois nods. “Yes there is. Part of Tankery is being able to use the environment to your advantage. In theory, a light tank can take on a heavy tank and win if the terrain is in the light tank’s favor.”

Samantha raises her hand. “So, what about hull-down with casemate tanks like ours, would that work?”

Dubois shakes her head. “There’s a certain limit to how much hull-down can protect you. For casemate tanks like the SU-122, it won’t be effective at all because of the positioning of the gun.”

You quickly jot down the notes. Never hurts to pay attention.

“Now, let’s get to Command Theory,” Dubois looks over at you. “Gertrude, want to learn something new today?”

“… so just run through those tanks.”

Dubois nods. “Correct. It’s a very risky thing, but most teams don’t really expect it. It works better with a heavy tank like say, a Tiger or an IS-2. Point is though that you simply run through the formation and either double back to take advantage of the chaos or keep running and give yourself time to regroup.”

You nod. “Okay. I get it.”

> - 5 CP

Dubois claps her hands together. “Well then, that concludes today’s lesson.” With that, everyone begins packing up. You yawn a little. Dubois stops you before you head out. “Gertrude, I gotta say, you’re really going places.”

You smile. “Oh, stop it. I’m just learning as all. Couldn’t do it without you.”

Dubois smirks. “Yeah, you probably couldn’t have. But hey, I’m only going to be here a few more weeks. Up until late October at most.”

“Oh, really?” You frown. “That’s sad. I like having you for an instructor, Captain.”

She smiles, heading to her Sheridan. “I know you do! Anyway, you keep hitting the books.” She climbs up onto the tank and gives you a lazy salute, and you playfully salute back. “Carry on.”

Nancy looks over at you. “So, Gertrude, think we’ll be ready for the World Cup?”

You nod. “Of course! You know, Tank Meet’s coming up next week if I recall correctly. We’re all heading up there, and we get to meet all kinds of people, plus that should be where they set all the brackets.”

Lisa says, “Hopefully we get some scrub team. I honestly don’t think we’ll survive a fight against a veteran team like the Japanese have.”

“Oh, don’t worry, Lisa, it’s fine!”

“Ah, don’t give yourself that.” You put your hand on her shoulder, causing her to glare at you somewhat. “I applaud you for at least taking the time to get your guns to bear. It’s a difficult task you know?”

“Yeah, whatever.”

Lansky says, “Hey, at the very least, I think we did okay. Don’t you, Lucky?”

“I just said Yeah, Maya. Jesus.”

“Anyway, at least keep trying. Our first match in the Tournament’s gonna come faster than you think it is.”

“We’ll keep that in mind,” says Lansky.

“So, Octavia,” Octavia, despite having done little but answer a few questions in practice and direct people to where they were going, was also taking a shower with all of your crews. “What do you think about the Pershing?”

She shrugs. “Well, it’s a tank that can’t decide if it’s a heavy tank or a medium tank. It’s not bad mind you, it’s just… I’d probably prefer something a little more… reliable. And legal.”

You say, “Well, we can always convert it to something that is, hopefully. When it gets here. Or maybe we can just cancel the order.”

“If I were you, I’d get something else, but if you honestly think you can handle the Pershing, then power to you.”

You nod. “Of course, Octavia. Not trying to fuck your mouth here or anything, just want feedback on this.”

“Hey, if you were talking to Michelle, her panties would be so wet you could sail a boat on them for the Pershing. I’m a little more realistic.”

You smile. “And I am glad you are, Octavia.”

I'd rather have the Pershing than buy that stupidly overpriced Jumbo upgrade. I'm partial to the KV-85, our heavies need more punch and it's a lot more pressing than the T-34.

Jenny says, “Please, it took us hours of protracted debate to come up with that name, nations have risen and fallen trying to come up with it.”

Katya says, “Still kinda disappointed we didn’t go with Tankmuncher.”

Marina shrugs. “Anyway, you name your tank, Gertrude?”

You shake your head again. “Nah. Haven’t thought of a good name for it yet. But if it comes to it, I’ll let you girls know.”

“Right, I’m gonna head home from here, Kitten, you coming?”

“Yeah, sure.”

With that, both of you get dressed out and then leave the showers, deciding on heading home. Kitten asks you, “So… what do you mean by interesting lunch tomorrow?”

You sigh, rubbing your nose. “I have to help hook up O’Brian and O’Hara together for Homecoming.”

“Really?” Kitten scratches her chin. “I was wondering when O’Brian would come out.”

You look over at her, confused. “You knew?”

“Implying it was a secret in the first place?” she says.

“But-“ You slap your forehead. “I didn’t!”

“You’re blind then.”

You shrug. “Whatever, maybe they’ll happy together, I dunno. This matchmaker stuff isn’t my forte so to speak however, I’d really prefer something with manual labor.”

“Like what, ditch digging?”

“Ditch digging.”

Kitten rolls her eyes at that as you walk. You finally arrive at your dorm then head on inside. You throw off your blazer and get your bra off, then jump onto the bed, groaning in its comfortableness. Kitten also unclips her bra as well and turns the TV on. “Kitten, make me some dinner.”

“Do I look your Mom?”

“Yes.”

She sighs as she stands up and walks over to the kitchen.

Goddamn it, what is there to work on? You’ve already finished your history assignment AND revised the shit out of it. You sigh as you look through it on your laptop. You still find a grammatical mistake here and there, but otherwise this looks like a flawless paper.

Eh, you start typing down random stuff. Strangely enough, this random shit actually becomes more coherent the more you put down. So this is what the narrative writing process is like. Throw it at the wall and see what sticks- Oooh noodles.

“Here you go, your Majesty,” she says as she hands your noodles.

You nod. “Thank you, humble servant. You are dismissed.”

She sits down on your bed and starts watching TV as you start chowing down on your noodles.

“So, Kitten, tomorrow you’re going to accompany me to lunch.”

She sighs. “I’m guessing you want me there because of you know what and you know who.”

“Maybe. I just like having you around for moral support.” You point your fork at her. “Also, we’re dropping by the Sewing Club building, getting ourselves some dresses for Homecoming?”

“What?” She blushes a little, glaring at you. “But… I don’t look good in a dress.”

“Nothing doing, Kitten! That’s what you said about the bathing suit, forgot to take pictures of that, really regret it by the way. Anyway, I’m sure once Anna works her magic with the needle and some cloth, we’ll turn you into Cinderella in no time!”

She rolls her eyes. “Fine. But it better not be anything skimpy or anything like that.”

“Oh, as much as I and every male within a hundred mile radius would like to see that, I’ll make sure you get something a little conservative. Not old prude conservative mind you.”

“Whatever, but I seriously think I don’t look good in dresses. I’m not…” She gestures over her body. “I don’t think I’m all that… attractive.”

You pout. “Oh, Kitten, your self-consciousness is going to be the death of you.” You put your finished bowl of noodles back into the sink then sit back down next to her. “You know, we’re not in Middle School anymore!”

“I know, what are you getting at?”

You poke her chest with your finger. “I’m saying that you’re 16, and that I like you just the way you are. You’re beautiful, Kitten.”

She goes red at that, laughing nervously. “Please stop.”

You rub your cheek against hers. “But it’s truuuuuueee!”

“Stop please. You’re giving me a heart attack.”

You withdraw then gently punch her in the arm. “Fine then, you’re nothing but a little punk.”
