My people, to me! It is now the sacred time, and again we tell the stories of our people in keeping with ancient tradition.

In the last two years we explored Prax and made headway into exploring the Grazelands, home of the Horse-Spawn. We also oversaw our first legal case, received a shrine to Kero Fin, and completed Ernalda Feeds the Tribe.

We also discovered that we have too many cattle for our current pasturage. Fixing that will be the first act of the year.

Shit, I still feel new at this, but no one else is posting here. Should we be worried about the number of sick? If not, is there anything we should be doing to set the ground for the kingdom expansion, like gifting neighboring tribes into a high opinion of us?
>>
>>28720741
Any number of sick people is bad, because it means fewer people working. A certain number is inevitable because disease is, well, endemic.

If we had a healer on our ring we could put extra points into health, which would stem the problem. Unfortunately we have no Chalana Arroy worshipers at all. We'll let the disease alone for a while longer and cure a bunch of people at once later.

Plenty of things to do with other tribes, like resolve feuds or set up what trade routes we still can. Just suggest one and we'll do it. We're pretty popular and we've maxed out how many alliances we can handle, so we're fine there.
>>
>>28720970
Ending a feud sounds good. We seem to be facing more attacks from big rivals, it wouldn't hurt to spend a little to placate one of the smaller thorns in our side.

Pick whoever is most likely to stick to a peace treaty or is the least profitable to raid in retaliation.

Lots of options here. We're on good terms with all the cults and we've yet to max out our trade routes, so I'd recommend learning something or ending a feud. We could also use this to permanently end the war with the Anmangarn.

"Okay, so, I know you don't like it when they eat you guys, but... what if they only ate SOME of you?"

This is easily the most fucked up legend I ever heard.
>>

I'd be pleased as punch if we could get the Tedanling to stop feuding with us, the Jenestni, Greydogs, and Anmangarni are problematic enough.

Let's end a feud.

Setting out on his quest, Issaries/Orstalor arrives in a strange place. Lhankor Mhy is there. How does Issaries convince Lhankor Mhy to come along?

Sound familiar? Issaries the Conciliator happens simultaneously with Lhankor Mhy Finds the Truth. We're playing from Issaries' perspective this time, where Lhankor Mhy is a standoffish know-it-all.
>>
>>28744925

Let's do #3, as the legend says.

Although #2 might also work.

It's kind of like in the Uralda legend where she agrees to let the two legs eat some of her people (i.e. cattle), in exchange for protection from the biting things, who would have no problem with wiping them out.

So, I recently got this game, as I've sporadically followed these threads. All I can say is, holy shit it's hard.

I mean, how do you succeed as well as you guys have? All that magic, Jesus Christ. I just wanted to ask you a question: how do I learn new myths for Heroquesting? And how do I find the myths themselves, so I don't have to savescum all the quests/fail horribly. I know there's a lore section in the main menu, but how do I find more/more elaborate myths to add to it?

Also, these threads are quite entertaining. Thanks for them, Heortson.
>>
>>28745178
You sacrifice to a god for their mysteries for details of their quest. It takes multiple sacrifices to know all of a legend, and even if you look it up on line, your success is at least partially dependant on how much of the quest your clan knows in game. So you need to sacrifice repeatedly. The gods really have a monopoly on the sacrifice market.
>>
>>28745178

Continue to sacrifice to that god for mysteries. You can also do the Lankhor Mhy finds the Truth with that as your goal. Some events will also have people tell you a myth, and if you 'learn new details' (semi-random), you can get a more detailed version of it that way.

Also, some of the myths have more than one correct answer, as seen upthread with the 'file a lawsuit against the rock to make it fall apart' option.

Issaries stops to wonder what worst of the damage to world is. What does he decide it must be?

>>28745178
Sacrifice for Mysteries, you'll learn a ritual or get knowledge of a heroquest. Success or failure is dependent on your quester's stats and how much you know about the heroquest. If its circle is filled in, know the secrets of that quest, improving your odds of success.

There's also a random element, which can be frustrating.

You can also learn heroquests by calling in favors and asking for information, and in some events.

As for doing well, it comes down to luck, persistence and learning how the game fits together.
>>
>>28745275
But for that quest you need to sacrifice to Lankhor Mhy first right? So, should I always sacrifice in multiples of seven as well?

Another question. I seem to have a problem with getting enough food and cattle. Do I need to recruit new farmers with only land for crops and with land and cattle for more cows? I am kinda stumped on that point.
>>
>>28745283

It's tempting to see what just blaming it all on Chaos does, but 3 seems like the "correct" answer.
>>

3, this quest is about reconciliation, i.e. making friends where their were once enemies.

20 percent minimum in each or harvests suffer. During good years boost wheat for extra silver, or barley if you need food. Rye is an emergency crop, it has lower but stable yields. If a bad harvest is predicted increase it (but not so much the others go below 20).

The Digging Stick People ask Issaries for help: The Long-Noses and Big Teeth are at war, and their battlefields include the home of the Digging Sticks. Issaries decides to help.

...But the world is based on give and take. Does Issaries perhaps do something else?

Also, these are the Nalda Bin, I believe. We adopted them into our clan in ancient times.

>>28746630
Issaries set up all those things, but I think the most important part is returning the bones, since the Big Teeth lose nothing by agreeing to it, and the Long-Noses don't mind dying as much as not being interred properly.
