You ignore Kyoko's baiting jibe at you and simply greet both Eversors good morning. Due to your surprising Midori just before she could finish getting your pancakes ready, she'd served them without syrup and butter - and as such, you busy yourself applying these two important elements to your breakfast. Carefully and deliberately, with your complete attention focused wholly on the task.

"...Look at her. It's like she's assemblin' a bomb or something." You could tell Kyoko's grinning without looking at her. "Midorin, watch carefully if you want to lock down the making-pancakes-for-Murderface market, yeah? Murderface is really particular about just how much syrup an' butter's on her pancakes, and if you get it wrong she'll just say 'it's okay' and pout the rest of the damn day."

She guffaws, here. "Mami got it right after tons of trial an' error, and I'm betting she's never going to teach you that unless you get to her Master Class or something."
>>
>>28876489

"O-oh! I...I guess I should--" Midori replies, and you finally look up to frown at Kyoko. Her grin only grows wider, and you shake your head at this, before telling Midori not to believe that. You're not THAT anal with your pancakes, for fuck's sake. Kyoko should shut up with the lies and slander, here--

"Says the person who's using a teaspoon to spoon syrup over her pancakes." The Eversor shoots back. "Normal people just pour the damn thing over, no questions asked. You're even counting!" Kyoko shakes her head as she begins to fill her plate with eggs and bacon. "How many teaspoons was that again? Twenty teaspoons of syrup for a stack of five, add five more for every pancake beyond that?"

Silence. Awkward silence.

You look up at the stares coming from all sides of the table, the smoking gun of a teaspoon in your grasp.

...It's...it's just that you have a particular idea of how much syrup you like, that's all, you try to explain to the silent table. Too little and the plate goes bland and dry, too much means too sweet and soggy. A balanced amount is best, and--

"Yeah, yeah." Kyoko grins as she lifts up her glass of orange juice to her lips, about to take a sip. "See, Midorin? Ya can always trust the word of an Eversor. We never lie."

...Except, of course, about leaving mysterious stains on bear skin rugs, you note as casually as you can. Causing Kyoko to choke on her orange juice, coughing most of it out in a spray.

"BY DOSE! ID WEND UP BY DOSE!" The red-haired Eversor screeches, a look of pain and anguish contorting her features as she leans back. "God Dabbit, Burdervase!"

[1/2]
>>
>>28876504

Kumatora, who'd been pecking at her own breakfast at the moment, shoots Kyoko a look - one that said just how much she thought the red-haired Eversor deserved it - and then nods at you.

"Warmaster, um, not to change subjects so suddenly, but...may I ask what you plan on doing to the prisoner we took back to headquarters last night? She seemed...um, generally harmless, when we got her. Still fought like a cat the entire time, but..." It's here that she shrugs. "She doesn't seem to be magical or anything. Just a really persistent reporter."

How do you respond?

NECO, huh? You consider Kumatora's question as you cut out the very first portion from your stack of perfectly-syruped, perfectly-buttered pancakes, working carefully and deliberately with both knife and fork. Does she really think NECO's as harmless as all that?

Kumatora blinks at this, before nodding. "W-well, um, it's my opinion that she is, Warmaster. I mean, besides what she did last night, I...I don't believe she's that much of a security threat, if we're taking her as one. She just seems like someone who's really, really enthusiastic about you, though... kind...kind of like a creepy fangirl? Or a stalker?"

You ignore Midori choking on her own orange juice - misting Kyoko in the face with it, causing the Eversor to screech again - as you lift up your fork up to your face, examining the impaled chunk of layered pancakes you'd just hacked off of your pile. Nodding to it - and to yourself - in satisfaction, it's here that you deposit the portion into your mouth and begin to chew, closing your eyes to focus on the taste and texture more. You swallow after a few moments.

...Not bad. Still not as good as Mami's pancakes, but getting there. Definitely getting there.

You work on your second portion as you reply. While you agree with what Kumatora believes about NECO, something tells you that there's more to the pesky, meddling snoop besides being a pesky, meddling snoop of a journalist. There's also the fact, too, that the things she publish could put some people in harm's way, especially if those people are on missions or under cover. And you don't like that at all, not one bit.

"Then...are you...?" Kumatora leans forward here, as if unable to contain her curiosity. "Um, I mean, will the Warmaster..."

[1/2]
>>
>>28877179

You shake your head. You know where she's getting at, and as quick and clean as that solution would be, it's not on the table yet. Honestly, you'll probably just give her enough of a scare, hopefully that'll set her straight.

"Huh. Sayaka-chan wasn't kidding." Kyoko seems impressed, here, pausing from stuffing her face full of breakfast. "Maybe we'll have to think of another nickname for you after all, Murderface! Like, uh, Goody-two-shoes-face!"

Or Chiaki, you tell her. She can call you Chiaki instead.

"Ehh. But it's not cool enough!"

You shake your head, here, before telling Kumatora to stop asking questions and get started on her breakfast.

"U-um, sempai?" Midori's voice is quiet and a bit nervous. "Um, this NECO person...what did she do last night? I remember you saying something about how it's all her fault, and you seemed very angry then..."

Huh? But didn't you tell her...?

Oh. Wait.

No, she was...um...shit, she doesn't know, does she?

You glance at both Kumatora and Kyoko, to volunteer them telling her instead - but the both of them had suddenly started to focus on their plates, studiously eating, their heads hunkered down.

Yeah. Thanks, you two.

Through our fault alone.
I mean, the players frequently forget promises and plans we've told to characters from thread to thread.
Wendy won't trust our promises, at least. The word of someone who'll break a promise made just two days ago isn't to be trusted, after all.
>>
>>28877409
Wendy is a non-negotiable enemy.

She's in too deep with Pinky.

Search your feelings. You know that any encounter with her is destinied to become some kind of gruesome creepy murdersex that ends with the death and destruction of at LEAST one party, possibly all.
>>
Anon, will we ever chooses a True Route?

So far, the only consensus for no-go seems to be

-Sayaka & Kyouko (NTR)
-Yuu & Misaka (Imouto are pure.)
-Kuma/Hat-chan (Kohai material.)
-Ruri (Too much manipulation.)
-NECO (Unceasing cat hate.)

...That leaves, for major contenders,

-Midori
-Wendy
-Pinky

Right? Can we sign a gentlemen's contract to pursue just one?

I disagree, she is in deep with pinky because of her obsession with Murderface, we show her that we stand apart from pinky then we get Wendy on our side

Potentially if we played our card right we could flip a significant portion of the cult and have our own band of crazy zealots to do our bidding
>>
>>28877477
Do you really expect /tg/ to not this with its dick for any length of time?
>>
>>28877447
Yes, that's likely how it'll eventually turn out.
If we hadn't broken the promise to her, we could have wringed some more pathos out of her by forcing her to choose between Kong's love and that Pinky probably has a killswitch in her and is manipulating her mind and emotions.

Really, though, I'm expecting her to compare us to Kharn again, and say we're worse than Kharn. At least Kharn never promised to love her conquests in order to get into their panties, or lied to them afterwards.
>>
>>28877491

Just because we're perpetually speeding toward a trainwreck doesn't mean we shouldn't look for a lever!
>>
>>28877487

It was to set things right. Chiaki kissed her on the cheek before promising.

You can read it on thread 123 on the suptg archives, or in thread 130 on the magicalgirlnoir.com site.

No, it was when we were fully conscious in her dreamscape, the third time we'd been there (technically the first time in that section, showing she trusted us again) and so fully aware that she is both alive and still around.

Thread 130. Do you want the actual post?

We made a promise in one of the dreams. A dream we also got a flashback to before making the decision to kiss Midori. And yet everyone was still screaming to kiss her :/

If you had read the backstory of Wendy you'd know that she seriously deserves someone to hold onto and cherish and that all the insanty that is ascribed to her is just a byproduct of not having that sort of person along with life taking her for one of the most cruel rides ever.

She needs a happy ending or that'll be one hell of a tragedy. And she's basically Chiaki's mirror image, she just always lacked the mami-equivalent to pull her up on her feet again. If there's any love left here she has earned a part of it, if only by virtue of surviving for this long.
>>
>>28877504
This Wendy promise is starting to turn out like 'time stop koobs' and 'get fucked' all over again.

>>

People wanted to be cute and romantic, after the lewds of telling Wendy we'd be taking her panties.
They apparently didn't consider that Chiaki had already been showing feelings for Midori, especially with that scene in the medical wing.

So yeah, we appear to be a bitch who will lie and break promises to get what we want and into girls' panties.
And the worst part of it is, that it's not even a part of the character, but mental lapses on the part of the players.
>>
>>28877530
Pinky picked Wendy for EXACTLY this reason. We can't win here.

Power of Rabu is NOT going to save Wendy. Except where "save" means "end her pain". Who do you think we are, Midori?

She'll love us, but she won't trust us. And that's going to be problematic, to put it lightly.
>>
>>28877576
Probably to keep us from ending up with Wendy again since she thinks Wendy is a bad influence
>>
>>28877535
>>28877543

Yeah, I thought the promise was referring to the giant Faust grief seed meteor hurtling towards Earth in the dream, as well as the general shit that the first Homura caused that made everything suck for everyone due to timeline shenanigans.

But the butt grabbing beforehand and all that with Wendy seems to have flavored that promise into a different meaning.
>>
>>28877580
To do better. To be fair we haven't actually even seen Wendy in a non-near dead from bloodloss manner in real life.
>>
>>28877593
>Chiaki, unlike Kong, breaks her promises.
Again, what? I don't remember breaking any promises.
>>
>>28877601
To do better could mean a lot of things. It's a rather ambiguous promise.
>>
>>28877603
and that's why we're breaking promises in the first place because no one remembers them. We should make a pastebin or something to collect them.
>>
>>28877583
>Because buts things and romance were implied with the act of setting things right.

Why would we promise anything like that if the whole time Midori was a potential loveinterest?
So let me get this straiht, Waifufags turned of their brains to make a promise we shouldnt have made in the first because its out of character because HURR and this now somehow comes back to bite us in the ass?
>>
>>28877595
We still got a very obvious flashback indicating that Wendy would probably consider us kissing Midori as breaking the promise
>>
>>28877570
Would it be so wrong to try and follow Midori's example a bit?
Midori doing her thing is what saved us, and possibly Kharn.
Maybe it's not a bad idea to try for a miracle now and then.
>>
>>28877601
Which is an important point, Chiaki isn't even entirely sure she saw her thanks to said blood loss so as far as she knows Wendy could still be proper dead and weird things are happening with her memory / powers and Pinky's influence

So until we actually meet Wendy we can't be sure what the hell is going to happen from either side of the equation
>>
>>28877613
Chiaki felt Wendy up, they talked a bit about their relationship, then she kissed Wendy's cheek and said she'd do things right this time. And Wendy kissed hers back. That's pretty fucking concrete.
>>
>>28877620
Pretty much /tg/ wants a harem and apparently lying and backstabbing is the best way to do that.
>>
Wendy is an interesting character and its sad that she is getting crapped on because of what happened in thread 123, but she isn't waifu material for the current Chiaki, and it would be unfair to all involved parties if we tried to force it.

She fit with Murderface, someone mutually insane to commiserate insanity and murderhobo with. And that is just not the character we play.
>>
>>28877613
>It's a rather ambiguous promise.
It's only ambiguous if you read the promise out of context.
In the context of the conversation it was said in, it was very obvious that it referred to getting back into a romantic relationship with Wendy and doing it right, being less awkward, this time.

Alright, I really am getting tired of this:

How does that have anything to do with kissing Midori? We are trying to do better? we have been trying it ever since we became Warmaster. We try to treat Midori like decent person, we even tried hard to APPEAR like a decent person despite being anything but a decent person so WHAT THE FUCK is this discussion actually about because I read the Thread and I still have no idea how we broke some promise with Wendy.
>>

You really don't get it?
We promised Wendy that we would rekindle our romantic relationship with her, and we would get it right by not being so awkward this time.

Then two days later we're kissing another girl on the lips.

You don't see how this is breaking that promise? Really?
>>
>>28877645
Maybe not for the purpose of keeping Chiaki sane but for the purpose of a long lasting relationship she is a lot better than Midori. Chiaki and Midori have pretty much no similar interests. They only like each other because of idolization and gratitude. It's a terrible setup for a steady relationship
>>
>>28877671

No, not really. I just reread the thread and its very open for interpretation. And since I am not the only one asking about that, there is a pretty decent chance that more people misunderstood it.

Wanting to make things right isnt the same as rubbing your girl parts over Wendy`s girl parts and now that I know that this promise is about it irritates me even that people are acting like we confessed out love to Wendy.
>>
>>28877645
Her strong ties to Pinky and to the cult practically guarantee that she's all but Pinky's puppet as well.

She and Murderface got along well because they were extremely similar. But now? She's poison. She might still be saved, but I don't see how that could end in anything better than a peaceful death.

Chiaki has no interests anyway so thats a moot point.

You let out a sigh, here, before putting down your knife and pulling out your smartphone from your inventory. You open up the Chirpee app, point it at NECO's profile, and then hand it over to the green-haired Callidus.

"Eh? But..." Midori blinks as she takes her smartphone from you, puzzled. She takes a look at the screen, still confused - before freezing as all color drains from her face, her eyes growing wide. The smartphone in her hands beginning to shake as she looks back towards you.

"T-this...this...we actually..." The Callidus starts, clearly at a loss for words.

It's why you moved the date indoors, you explain. For what it's worth, it's a pretty good picture - NECO seems to have some good sense with photography during low-light conditions, and the resolution means that she's using an expensive DSLR camera with an equally-expensive lens.

"Hah, really?" Kyoko lets out an impressed sound, here. "Didn't think you'd know anything about that kind of stuff. Photography, I mean, Murderface. When'd you pick up the hobby?"

It's here that you pause yourself. How DID you know, anyway? You've never shot anything other than a firearm in your life, and you certainly don't remember being invested in a pastime that has sobriety as a requirement.

You shake your head here, before covering up your confusion with a shrug. Probably just something you read or something. It's not that hard to tell, isn't it? Only expensive, high-end stuff can get that kind of quality in night shots.

"I guess you're right," Kyoko nods. "It ain't your style, I think. Although it's pretty hilarious to think about, you sneaking around and stalking Mami-chan with a camera! Hahaha!"

You blink at this. ...You didn't do that, did you?

The difference between the two is literally a bit of love and caring. Wendy is not far gone, one can easily drag her over. Chiaki would be a pseudo-Mami in this situaion.

>>28877693
Holy shit I thought I was the only one to see it. I like Midori and seeing them interact is adorable, but christ their relationship isn't exactly on solid footing yet.

Ah. Well. That's...sort of a relief.

"Is...is this bad, sempai?" Midori cuts in again, clearly worried as she hands your smartphone back to you. Looking as if she wanted nothing more than to crawl into some hole and disappear - something you're quite familiar with. "This...um...with you being Warmaster, isn't it bad if this got out?"

How do you respond?

The thing to remember about our recent interactions with Wendy is that some of us assumed we were dreaming, or talking to a ghost.
We assumed that she wasn't real and that our actions would have no reprecussions; you know how when you lucid dream you get to fuck around doing stuff you normally wouldn't? Exactly.

When we kissed her and promised to get it right this time, we were making a promise to someone we assumed was no longer in this world, and the promise to get it right was about getting it right without her.

Were some people operating on assumptions or metaknowledge that Wendy was alive? Yes. Was it the entire voting base? Absolutely not. Is it a problem?
Of course, but its not so wildly far flung as some people would have us believe.
>>
>>28877881
There's a pretty solid basis for feeling like this is either due to slowly going off the deep end, or at the very least some sort of Pinky shenanigans.

For one thing, we only started seeing Wendy-dreams after the procedure in Siberia, and the one time we met "in person" since was while we were missing the overwhelming majority of our blood, and our squadmates on overwatch didn't see anyone with us.
>>

At any rate, I really like Wendy as a character, even if not as a potential pairing, but trying to pursue her when the majority was already pursuing Midori was ill thought out, if at all.

Best I can think of is being honest with her when we meet again so, no, not telling her we thought she was a hallucination...
>>
>>28877775
I fully expect Wendy to just shank us anyway and say "I know I gave up on you, but it still hurts to see you with her" or some variation of the above.
>>
>>28877918
Ah sorry I realized it just after i posted it xD
>>
>>28877820
It isn't? We should mention that to Kyuubey the next time he tries to send us on one of those gigs.
>>
>>28877940
I was under the impression we thought she was a hallucination.
>>
>>28877960
No, never. Chiaki doesn't have hallucinations, Wendy has them.
>>
>>28877909
Also Wendy told us that Nicole got a Golden Weapon, went mad, and killed her.

So yeah. There's that.

Incidentally, we should follow up on Nicole regardless of Wendy, since you know, Golden Weapon and all.
>>
>>28877927
>For one thing, we only started seeing Wendy-dreams after the procedure in Siberia
I feel like this is an important point, especially after Kyubey told us about how Kharn was hallucinating.
>>
>>28877960
Well given what we had been told I thought we considered her a hallucination or someone playing culexus tricks on our brain meat while we slept / lost consciousness after the fight

That's the sort of feeling I got from it all anyway
>>

>>
>>28877926

Because we all know that after dealing with Pinky, the next lucid and repeated dream ghost is probably no big deal and just something we can fuck around with, right?

>>
>>28877926

Yea.
One time we met Wendy told us that she was dead, the only time we met her in the flesh was when we were delirious from blood loss.

Chiaki has no in-character knowledge of wendy being resurrected.
>>
>>28878003
What ghosts? Pinky? She's not a hallucination, she's very real. She mostly only exists in the timestopworld though.

You guys, it doesn't really matter if Chiaki thought Wendy was real or not. What we need to keep in mind here is what Wendy interprets: regardless of how we interpreted the promise, *she* thinks that was pertaining to rekindling the relationship they once had.

It doesn't matter if we/Chiaki thought she was a hallucination or anything. She won't care about culpability or plausible denial. That's a terrible thing to say to her face when she feeling betrayed and is hurting in a bad way, anyway! We can't just say "but we didn't know" or "we didn't think our promise to you was real or that we were really accountable for it". The latter answer is a really really REALLY douchey attitude in general.

We're going to need to handle it carefully, tactfully and with a whole lot of empathy, when Wendy has the Fucking Talk with Chiaki.
>>
>>28878008
Except that pinky isn't remotely the only one we've seen. In the early threads Chiaki is constantly seeing the various people she killed, which Decu doesn't go into detail about because for Chiaki it was something entirely normal.

She saw more shit than Pinky. Mostly in dreams, also while awake, its part of the reason for all the pills and Kong.

>>28878017
>>28878018
And here we have a very clear split on operational knowledge, I'm in the boat with Hat but there are very clearly folks in the other boat.
At this point we probably need Decu to tell us precisely what knowledge Chiaki has about whether or not Wendy is alive.

>"Of the Blessed Lady." Wendy takes another sip from her glass. "...Like you, Kong, I died once before. Shattered soul gem and all that. Dead as a doornail." A sad, wry smile. "And then she brought me back. Sparkled me up a new soul gem. Didn't even feel dead afterwards. Just...hollow, I guess. Cold." The smile disappears. "Tried to hide it, but...yeah. Never worked out."

This was when we met her after the concert fight.

That said, given what we know about how she came back, we could still be under the impression that she's alive in the same way golden weapon Shades are; gone, disembodied, but still capable of communication.

>>28878027
We haven't really treated her any differently than we would have treated Yuu, and she's definitely not 'alive' in the classical sense. And knowing that still doesn't change how we interact with her.

Murderface is an equal opportunity employer. Alive, dead, undead, witches, ghosts, robots, idols, robot idols. Everyone's fair game.

By all means keep writing them, but for fucks sake, don't bring them anywhere near the story and the characters in the quest, or if you must, leave it in the past.

Otherwise you just get endless shitstorms like we have ever since the Wendy writeups started getting close enough to the story to set off anons paranoia.

Going through the archives, Yuu picked up Wendy being nearby.
We can piece together that it's Wendy because, while Yuu couldn't remember her name, she remembered that the presence she detected had a checkered scarf, fought with a kitchen knife, and was from the American Officio.
So, there's in-character information that Wendy is around and she was observing.

You nod your head as you continue to work on your pancakes. Yeah, it could be bad, you agree. The picture of the both of you getting out this early complicates things a bit, seeing as it paints a pretty big target on Midori's back. Everyone who's gunning for you would probably be gunning for her now, too.

Midori pales at this, while Kyoko blanches. "O-oi, aren't you blowing things out of proportion here, Murderface? I mean, yeah, there's that crazy Prophet chick to worry about, but they're not really gonna target Midori, right...? No one does that kind of underhanded thing--"

You cut off Kyoko with a glare. This Prophet killed a civilian, made her look like Tomoe Mami and mailed her severed head to you. Not only that, but her lackeys tried to attack you during a mission - and used the civilian audience as a collective hostage. So yeah, you're not exactly confident that this Prophet would take the high road, here. She wants to get to you, and it's a given that she'll target the people close to you to do it.

"..." Kyoko looks down sullenly at her food, as if she'd lost her appetite.

That said, you continue, it's not really something that could've been helped. It'd have been inevitable - if NECO didn't leak it, then regular Officio gossip definitely would've, and easily. It's just the fact that it's out NOW, and released by an unpredictable source like NECO, that irritates you.

And you're hoping to do something about that when you finally get face-to-face with NECO.

"A-ah. I...I see." Midori manages to compose herself now, at least. "I'm...I'm sorry, sempai. I didn't mean to complicate things, I just wanted--"

"Not your fault, Midorin, this is my screwup." The red-haired Eversor cuts in here, sighing. "I should've caught NECO before she got that shot off." She shakes her head, here.

"I really meant that, y'know, Murderface? When I said sorry. I really thought we were clear, and I wanted to focus on making sure you guys had a good time, and..."

You swallow the mouthful of pancake you'd been chewing, before shaking your head. You don't blame either of them, not even Kyoko. This all comes down to NECO, and you're going to deal with her as soon as you get to the Office.

"...Yeah, well, I'm still sorry. But I'm gonna make sure no one lays a hand on Midorin." It's here that she nods towards the Callidus. "I'll...I'll just go get stuff ready now, alright, Midorin? And sorry again, for lettin' the cat photograph you an' Murderface and everything."

"I-it's fine, Miss Kyoko." Midori hurriedly nods. "And yes, if it's not too much. I'd really appreciate it."

Kyoko gives you one last look before leaving the kitchen, heading directly outside. Kumatora looks back at the Eversor's retreating form, then at you, before getting up herself, a worried smile on her lips.

"I'd...I'd better make sure Kyoko-sempai gets it right." She clasps her gloved hands together. "Thank you for the food, and thank you for allowing me the honor of having breakfast with you, Warmaster."

She leaves the same way, but in a half-walk, half-run, intent on catching up with Kyoko. You could hear her calling out to the Eversor as soon as she leaves the cottage's premises. Leaving both you and Midori to finish your breakfast alone.

...Well. You didn't mean to do that, but...

"Is...is this Prophet as dangerous as you say she is, Chiaki?" Midori asks you, making you look up from your pancakes. "I mean, I know what she did to that poor girl, and from what we saw in the broadcast..."

It seems like Midori wants to know more about the Prophet. No wonder - you've only shared what you found out with Kyuubey.

This is worth saying, but we should also give her a bigger picture than just saying that. The Prophet isn't actually a MG herself -- the golden weapon is only one half of the problem. The other half is the murderous Magical Girl support group that she has surrounding her.

>>

>Also Wendy told us that Nicole got a Golden Weapon, went mad, and killed her.

>>

Chiaki believes that Wendy knows a lot about her that she doesn't know herself, and while she wants to believe that Wendy's a hallucination, she knows stranger things has happened. There's also the bit about Wendles saying that she was brought back by Pinky, which pushes it over the edge.

So yes, Chiaki thinks Wendy is real, but a part of her is kind of doubting it. That's why she hesitated just before the kiss happened.

This should cut down on arguments heavily, with an incontrovertible statement of what the character believes.

So how badly would you say that we've screwed up by breaking promises?
How reliable do we look like in the eyes of the people that are watching and keeping track?

I honestly can't see it quite that way. I mean, maybe a foolish fleeting hope. A memory of a forgotten memory.

But she sait it herself. Pinky got her claws into her, she brought her back, but hollow.

We don't remember her, but we liked this girl and we'll do what we can for her but Chiaki has to have doubts that there's much she can actually do.

Something about this whole line of questioning rubs me the wrong way, but I can't put a finger on what it is, exactly. Just feels sort of whisper-down-the-lane-y to me, even if it is ultimately Decu's interpretation of things that affects how the storyline progresses.

It just feels weird to have a situation where what is ostensibly the inner monologue of a character driving them to make the choices that they do is divided on how to interpret a situation, only to suddenly learn that half of your internal monologue is incontrovertibly wrong.

But maybe that's just because I'm on this >>28879312 end of the spectrum.
>>
Eh, watermelon end is still a go.

Midori is green. Wendy is red, Meduka is the black seeds. Or not there, if we go for seedless watermelon.

Remember, there is no love triangle that can't be solved by application of a sufficiently advanced threeway.
>>
>>28879241

There was a writeup about it. It wasn't the best reaction we could get but it certainly wasn't the worst either!

>>28879291

I'll be honest, the Wendy situation is a major thing, and Chiaki will have to work hard to resolve it.

As far as business goes, Chiaki is still a new Warmaster, so some slip-ups can be excused. Ruri did give her good marks for her feedback, though!
>>

>what is ostensibly the inner monologue of a character driving them to make the choices that they do is divided on how to interpret a situation, only to suddenly learn that half of your internal monologue is incontrovertibly wrong.
Welcome to Thread 130, where we realized that some votes were being made on faulty assumptions and misremembered events, and that we've been doing it enough for characters in the story to notice.
And the worst part, is that it wasn't because that was the character we were playing, but simply due to peoples' own faulty memory causing a character to appear like that.

>Chiaki will have to work hard to resolve it.

Of course I'm a human, nya. Look at my thumbs. I mean, you can't see them, but they're absolutely there. And I certainly don't breathe fire, or have laser vision.

It's more like we know we USED to be better than this.

The worst thing is knowing we used to be even worse than we are now. The biggest blessing we have is that we can't remember any of it.
>>
>>28879928

Though if we don't remember the things we did wrong, how can we keep from repeating them?
>>
>>28879960
Start taking notes.
>>
>>28879904
I'm sorry. I posted my pancake and then I was ashamed of my subpar pancaking skills.
>>
>>28879960
right and wrong is a matter of perspective. GIven certain circumstances, we'd make the wrong choice for the right reason every time. Or possibly the right choice for the wrong reason. Everything is relative.

The real question is "who would benefit from us not being able to remember what we've done, and why?"
>>
>>28879979
7/10, Dan. Nyothing to be ashamed of.
>>
>get to thread late
Damn, I totally would have voted to respond to Midori's concerns about the news leak being bad with "you really think I give a fuck?"
>>
>>28879909
That filename is killing my sides.
>>
>>28879975
Further developing this idea : at the start of each thread somebody posts what we've written down so far and check it against any decisions we make.

>>28879904
How is charm ranked in the writeups? What is the criteria for each grade?
>>
>>28879979

I would eat those, I really would.

Great, now I'm hungry.
>>
>>28879904
Did your master teach you the art of ninja journalism?
Have you covered wars?
>>
>>28879992
Y-you too
>>
>>28880002
All rankings are estimated roughly based on firsthand evidence and any notable records of a magical girl's capability. Charm is mostly measured looking at how well the subject leads others and how charismatic and personable they are.

But also how much I like them.

>>28880014
My assistant is the ninja, when she gets off her duff. She's crazy, probably better than me. My master taught me REAL JOURNALISM, though. The kind that doesn't even count unless you're risking a knee or twenty years in prison.

You know. REALLY GOOD crimes.

I've covered gang wars, nya. Gang wars and politics, which is basically worse.
>>
>>28880053
>entire officio squeeing over us

What was your favorite writeup?
>>
>>28879851
I dunno I think it is more Mami knows how much of an accomplishment getting Murderface able to not bite everything like a wild dog was so she thinks that baby steps are what are needed to build her up to someone really worth being

So she breaks down her expectations into small groups, once we stopped shooting kyoobs that was one level, being able to function on a basic human level is another. Remembering to bathe was another

We are slowly surpassing different levels of expectations and becoming more like a proper person to her
>>
>>28880053
So how exactly do you incentivize her to stop being lazy and work?
I am guessing you have something on her?
>>
>>28880053
Who's your master, cat?
>>
>>28880073
nyu mad

>>28880098
Tough question. I think the Mami vs. Wendy one (stray cat taming), but I also really liked the Sab one covering the months before SayakaQuest (walkie talkie).

And all of the Strauss ones are great.

>>28880125
You kind of just have to spin it right. She's the sort of person that gets really really really into things if they catch her attention, and she's also really really really petty.

It's not actually that hard.

>>28880157

You asked. What do you want from me, pointing out individual Prose Magica chapters? It's all good, brother-myan.

(I also especially like Rin's, and the more recent Starasp one now that he's kind of found a more comfortable voice for his narrator)

Also how many hobbies has Chiaki acquired and forgotten about in her previous incarnations? Is there a guild somewhere wondering what happened to their eternally gravelly voiced DPS who used to bitch out hardened opponents until they cried?

I just wish they were tied in more to what's happening, like the first couple of Cooldown's. Right now they're answering questions nobody really asked or care about.
>>
>>28880286
I know I wasn't asked, but this is my favorite
http://pastebin.com/eYZvGJTe
and one we could keep in mind for patching things up in the future.
>>
>>28880336
i mean this is a huge upgrade over 'shoot people, ask questions never'

The other question really depends on how many incarnations you think she's had, nyahaha~

>>28880346
The first few Cooldown writeups were requests from Deculture deliberately pertaining to current events. Archival set out to write a separate story in-universe that will tie in later, whereas the Wendy stuff was intended to be somewhat integrated into the story more or less from the start.

It's good to know there are people that do prefer the writeups be relevant, though, as the last couple of threads have had angry comments about keeping them the hell out of the main story.
>>
When a magical girl dies (ie Soul Gem is destroyed instead of witching out), is it like a normal humans death or what? Might have gotten inspiration for my writeup idea.
>>
>>28880417
I think Decu could answer this better than I can - hold onto it for the next thread! My understanding is that it's very similar; the shattering of the soul gem is the shattering of the container, and the soul moves on as it would otherwise.
>>
>>28880436
But I won't be home from work till the thread is dead and gone tomorrow. I'll just roll with it and see if he likes it anyways. If not, I'll deal.
>>
>>28880452
Ask him a question via twitter or his email?

I know I was gonna do a short story, but since we've got a glut of them I figured it was best to hold on to my concept and save it for something else.
>>
>>28880462
Good idea. Still have to hammer out details and the like of my idea anyways.
