You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village.

The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.

Well, you've just met Mirakarias, who is apparently Rana and Reya's cousin. She certainly has a similar sense of humor to Rana's...

After a bit of teasing from her, you brought Citrine and Marius to see Agnes... along with Sylvie, Nicolette and Melanie as well.

It's happy grandma bonding times now!

She seems to have taken that news as well as you could hope.
>Congratulations, you are now a mangy DOG!
>Though dogs are loyal, they're not all that smart...
>The Princess now considers you to be her friend!
>But while dogs are man's best friend, they still don't count as people.

"Well, I definitely feel lucky to have such great friends..." you begin, "and if that story I jut heard about you throttling Prince Giancarlo is any indication, I'm lucky to have an awesome grandma like you too."
"Already digging up dirt on me, I see..." Agnes laughs. "...but don't think I can't still deal out a beating if I have to!"
"You better stay on your best behavior, Reinhold," Nicolette says, slapping you on the back.

"Hmm..." Agnes says, looking at Nicolette. "...you look familiar, have we met before?"
"I don't think so," Nicolette replies. "It's been a while since I was up here in Marconetti, seeing as how I'm about as much a fan of the high-class scene as my father is..." she sighs.
"Yes, I can certainly understand that," Agnes replies, nodding. "Still though, the way that you were smiling while teasing Reinhold was -just- like one of my Volker's friends would do when he was up to mischief..."

"...Gregory?" Nicolette says, her eyes growing wide with surprise. "You know my old man?"
"Oh yeah, you did mention that he was one of Volker's friends..." you say.
"You're his daughter? Ah, that makes perfect sense!" she says, clapping her hands together. "And that would explain your name, since he married Nicolas's daughter..."

"You really are the second generation..." Agnes says, laughing. "Volker was friends with Gregory, and here you are, friends with Gregory's daughter!"
"Umm... you wouldn't happen to know my father, would you?" Sylvie asks. "His name's Vincent..."
"Vincent? I've heard of him, but I can't say that we've ever met," Agnes replies. "Though I have heard stories about how he's a huge mountain of a man, so I'm surprised that a fellow like that could have such a cute daughter."

Hey Arch, what happens if a dragon girl is impregnated and then shifts to give birth?

If you could list what would happen in all the possible combinations of forms for impregnation and birthing, that would be great.

Also any differences that the sire being human vs dragon would cause to pregnancies during which form change occurs.

>Hey Arch, what happens if a dragon girl is impregnated and then shifts to give birth?
If a dragon girl is impregnated in human form, she's locked in said form until she gives birth. While it's still possible to shift individual limbs and the like during the pregnancy, a full transformation is blocked for the entire duration.

>>28960892
>If you could list what would happen in all the possible combinations of forms for impregnation and birthing, that would be great.
Any combination of human and dragon results in a half-dragon baby like Reya. While they're physically tougher than humans, they're unable to transform in the way that a full-blooded dragon can.

If two dragons conceive while in their draconic form, the female will lay an egg if enough time passes. This egg will hatch after about a year into a baby with a default draconic form.

This is generally avoided, since the parents are stuck dealing with a combination of a human baby's neediness and lack of reason and a dragon's destructiveness and appetite. And since a dragon born this way is unable to shift until they're about three years old at the earliest, that's a rather long time to be dealing with that.

>"Yeah, we don't get many grunts over-" The first guard stops in mid-sentence, a look of complete shock on his face.
>"Arc, what's wrong?" the second guard asked.
>"H-hooooooly shit. Mario! Do you have any idea who this is!?" the first guard, apparently named "Arc," said as he grabbed his friend's shoulders and shook him excitedly.

>"One tournament that you completely swept! Man, that was freaking AMAZING! You came out of nowhere and completely wrecked all of the favorites to win, some of my friends lost so much money on those bets..." Arc said excitedly.
>"But me 'n Arc here hit it big," Mario said with a huge grin on his face. "Arc noticed that ya had better form'n most of the other guys in the tourney so he convinced me to join 'im in bettin' on ya."

"...and here I thought my Grandmother would be a refuge from the endless teasing," you say as seriously as you can manage. "Maybe I'll become a hermit."
"Ah, so you're planning on abandoning me right after I've let you into my heart?" Agnes replies. "I'm hurt, Reinhold..." she says, placing her hands to her chest in an exaggerated fashion.
"Ha, it looks like she's not going to let your weird jokes slide either, man," Nicolette says, laughing.
"I'm more than used to that kind of thing," Agnes replies.

"Well... it was nice meeting you, but I don't want to impose on your adorable family time any more than I already have," Nicolette says. "I'm gonna grab some more food now, and then I'll be back where you found me the first time if you need anything," she says, pointing her thumb in the general direction of Sir Gregory. "My old man's there too so you can come and say hi to him if you want, Reinhold's grandma.

"I suppose I should go too," Melanie says, bowing. "I'm happy to see that your grandmother's so lively, Mr. Reinhold!"
"Yes, um... it was nice meeting you," Sylvie says, blushing slightly. "I shouldn't impose on you guys any more than I already have, so I'll leave to..."
"Aww, I was hoping to hear some embarassing stories about my grandson," Agnes says, smiling at the girls. "Oh well... I guess I'll have to find you later then."

"I'm sure you'll get our embarrassing stories the next time you talk to Princess Marianne," you say. "She seemed pretty intent on telling you all about them, anyways..."
"That's right..." Agnes says, smiling at you. "I'm sure we'll have quite the grand time," she laughs.
"Now I'm getting kind of curious myself," Citrine says, nudging you with her elbow.
"C'mon, be nice," Marius says, an embarrassed smile on his face. "You're going to make him regret bringing us over here."

Thanks for the save, brother.

"Alright then..." Agnes says, turning to Marius, "lets hear about you, Marius."
"I am an open book for your perusal," Marius replies with an exaggerated bow.
"So you're that artist that Celestino's so fond of?" she asks.
"Eheh... yeah, he's probably my primary patron at this point," he replies.
"So I've heard. I trust that you'll show me some of your art at some point, yes?"
"There's gonna be a grand unveiling for his latest painting in a few hours," Citrine says happily. "So I guess that'll be your first glimpse at his greatness!" she laughs.

So Reinhold's life has clearly been going well lately, he has plenty of friends, his princess has become friendly with him, his sister has gotten married to Artist Archer, and he has a new grandma now.

So in what way do you think it will all start tumbling down?

"Well, I certainly hope she likes it," Marius says, adjusting his glasses.
"Oh, I'm sure I will," Agnes replies, "...and I might even be tempted to commission something from you myself," she says, winking at him.
"You collect art?" you ask, wondering what kind of hobbies she has.

"Not really," Agnes replies. "The only thing that I've ever really collected were weapons, and I kind of abandoned that after I lost everyone who I could actually appreciate such a collection with," she says, a sad smile on her face.
"Well maybe we could pay you a visit before we leave the country," Marius says, giving the old lady a thumbs-up. "Seeing your collection might give me some inspiration for a painting, if nothing else."

Oh yeah... she did say that she trained Volker, so it's not unheard of that she'd collect weapons.

"So you were a swordswoman when you were younger?" you ask.
"Back before age took its toll on me," Agnes replies with a nostalgic smile. "I wasn't quite as good as Celestino's friend Guillaume, but that old relic -did- recognize my skills," she laughs.
"That's rather surprising, considering the attitudes about women in combat roles in this country," Marius says, nodding his head.

>>
>>28961909

"Yes, well I never really gave a damn about things like that," Agnes says, shrugging. "Even now, I do as I please. And it's rather hard for someone to tell you that you have no business picking up a sword when you're better with one than any man around," she laughs.
"Heh, you have a point there," you reply with a chuckle.

If anyone was to tell Nicolette that she had no business trying to become a knight or try to get Sylvie to give up magic just because they're girls, you don't even want to think about what they'd do in retaliation.

"So you went around breaking swords too?" Citrine asks. "I remember that's what Volker was known for..."
"Oh, that?" Agnes replies, a nostalgic smile on her face. "No... our family's sword style wasn't based around that at all," she laughs. "It's just that Volker was so poor at controlling his own strength that he'd end up shattering both his and his opponent's blades all the time."

"...so it was an accident?" Citrine asks, quite surprised by this.
"Yes... I tried to show him how to stop doing that, but he eventually gave up on learning how to do things properly and just started carrying multiple swords on his person instead," she sighs. "And then he figured that if he was going to be carrying two swords then he ought to use both of them at the same time... that boy never did care much for proper form."

>So Swordbreaking isn't a family tradition?
...well, it is now.

That said, it might be interesting to pick up some elements of the classical family style so we aren't ALWAYS going full sunder all the time.

We've had some issues with controlling our strength in situations where we could've benefited from a little finesse. What we picked up from Volker is certainly useful, but seeing as he only didn't "improve" upon his technique because of a mental block, we might be in a better position to adapt to some of the classical techniques.

Being able to switch "stances" like Takamaru did during our spar and decide on the fly whether we're going to be in Swordbreaker mode would be pretty useful.

"...I practiced what I learned from Volker, but his form was poor..." you say to yourself, laughing. "So that means that I've been doing it wrong all this time... no wonder Arnaud was so hard on me when I first started training under him," you sigh.
"Hm?" Agnes says, turning to you. "You're training under Guillaume Arnaud now?"
"Yeah..." you nod, "He works at the castle as a butler. I heard that he was pretty good with a sword, so I asked him to show me the ropes since I never had any formal training," you say, shrugging. "To e honest, he's been running me ragged for the past few weeks."

"Hahaha, I bet he is!" Agnes says, laughing heartily. "Now I'm really wanting to see your swordsmanship for myself, considering that you were actually good enough for him to take notice!"
"Heh... I'd be happy to, provided that I get another day off before we leave the country," you reply.
"That sounds like an idea," she nods. "If I'm not able to give you directions to my mansion before the party's end, just ask Celestino where I live, he should be willing to help you out."

Asking the King for directions to your grandmother's house... that's a bit much.

"Reinhold was really impressive at the tournament," Marius says. "I can assure you, he's no slouch."

"Well I don't see why not!" she laughs. "I'd be more than happy to help you with your Royal Bodyguard business!"
"Thanks, Grandma," you say as you head out.

Quickly traversing the room in as direct a path you can manage, you don't take your eyes off of the Princess. Tugging at her ear as discreetely as she can manage, you see that she's talking with a rougish-looking young man with long, wavy red hair.

From the looks of it, he's hitting on her... though you wonder how much worse he could possibly be compared to the others, considering that she's been dealing with guys like this ever since the guests were let in.

>"The old man was kind enough to find me a lady who doesn't mind sharing, you see," he says, winking in a horribly sleazy way. "In fact, she even likes to join in sometimes," he laughs.

This will never come up again and will totally not send us into the Maw of Hell for reasons.
>>
Just going through the pastebin and
>"Yup! You see, my little brother Enrico has a birthday coming up, and he told me to invite all of you!"
>Luciana says, a wide smile on her face. "Of course, it's pretty much a ploy to set the two of you up!"
I thought his name was emillio.

"Excuse me," you say, bowing as you approach.
"Hm?" the redhead glances at you. "Wait your turn, buddy."
"He happens to be a friend of mine, actually," Marianne says, brushing him aside as she walks towards you.
"Cockblock..." he mumbles under his breath. "That's still no excuse to but into another man's business, you know."

"Did you need anything?" Marianne asks, ignoring that comment.
"I just wanted to inform you that Agnes Eschenwald would like to have a word with you."
"Geh-" the redhead's smug expression suddenly becomes twisted into one of absolute fear. "That old bat's actually here!?"
"Ah... I'll go and meet with your -grandmother- right away, then..." the Princess replies.

"Eheh... eheheh... I'll just go over there now, it was nice seeing you again," he says, laughing nervously as he makes a hasty retreat.
"Goodbye, Giancarlo," Marianne replies, sighing. "...and good riddance."

>what do you say?
>>
>>28962873

"That was oddly satisfying,"
>>
>>28962873
"Well, it certainly seems everything I've heard about him is more than true. You want to go talk to grandma for a bit?"
>>
>>28962873
>"Prepare your anecdotes, she can barely wait."
>>
>>28962625
"Excuse me Princess, Lady Eschenwald like to speak with you now, or is this bad time for that?"
>>
>>28962873
"You OK?

And yeah, she really would love to meet you, too."
>>
>>28962882
Going with this.
>>
>>28962873

"Goodbye, Your Highness." Give a polite bow and lead the princess away. No need for jokes right now.
>>
>>28962873
That... Felt good. I've known her a whole day, and already a plethora of political options have opened up to me. And, more importantly, ENHANCED BODY-GUARDING.
>>
>>28962882

This.

And a "Are you alright, Princess?"

These.

Hey giancarlo, my grandmother told me about you. She is looking forward meeting you again
>>

they have already met.

Do a little whistle of descending pitch. The kind that signifies "Wow that guy is a piece of work."
>>
>>28962898
This

We have to make this look genuine, or the other nobles will catch on quick
>>
>>28962873
"I had a feeling that'd work."

"...she actually would be glad to talk to you, though. Wasn't just saying that to scare him off."

>>28962889
And this, more or less.
>>
>>28962889
This.
>>
Ohh I thought "what do you say" meant what do you say to Giancarlo, rather than the Princess. If it was directed at the princess, then I vote this:

>>
>>28962873
>"Ah... I'll go and meet with your -grandmother- right away, then..." the Princess replies.

>"Eheh... eheheh... I'll just go over there now, it was nice seeing you again," he says, laughing nervously as he makes a hasty retreat.

"Well, that worked out rather splendidly. After you, then?" Then go to Agnes.

Might as well keep the act up.

Supporting.

Also ask Marie whether Lucianna's dad would over react if we introduced Elena to our Grandmother. I think both of them would enjoy meeting each other.
