Across from you on the table is Daniel. He's a Chariot Incubator, which means he can fly.Within your sightline is a large table with a dozen men, the youngest of whom is Matthew McConnell, your target. He's a Healer Incubator, which means he can do all sorts of horrible things to your body if you let him touch you (thus the jacket and gloves). You've just learned he has some people with him for protection, and informed Richard of the same. Richard, like you, is a Scholar Incubator: perception, data analysis, and memory are his abilities. It might be possible to take Matthew out even with his protection... but you'd prefer not to. They are armed, after all, and you won't get anything from killing them.>Try to lure him away from his group with your "feminine wiles." (will require a Charm roll; high DC for the fact that you will be having to work against him *and* his friends)>Wait for him to leave with his protection, follow them for a little while, then kill him and them.>Bail out, come up with a new plan of attack.>Write-in.
>>29001536Sadly will miss this session, can get a vote in at least.>Wait for him to leave with his protection, follow them for a little while, then kill him and them.
>>29001536>Bail out, come up with a new plan of attack. We know where he lives, it won't be hard to throw a pipe bomb through his bedroom window.
Rolled 11 - >>290017042 - >>29001721
>>29001866Welp, hopefully we don't fuck up.
You'll wait him out. He has to leave sooner or later, and you can get him then. The protection isn't immortal, and you know guns well enough to do them in too.You spend a long hour watching their table out of the corner of your eye while pretending to have a conversation with Daniel. "Little Doc," as his comrades call him, is apparently a new celebrity in his group, having risen to some importance due to his status as a Healer Incubator. He doesn't seem to relish the position too much, since it means he is kept well away from anything too dangerous, working instead as - effectively - a back-alley surgeon, rather than being involved in anything particularly important. The occasional mentions of 'Jacob' are terse and uncomfortable, as if discussing a subject that is deeply unpleasant to those talking about it. You can't know exactly what happened, but the gist is clear enough: Matthew did something very horrible to him. The language used suggests that 'Jacob' is still alive, though probably not as an act of mercy.Once the group begins to depart, Matthew leaves with two of the men, both armed. You doubt they would hesitate to kill, but that's largely irrelevant. You leave shortly after them, following from a distance. >Shadow them, wait for your moment. (will require an Intelligence roll)>Don't bother trying to be stealthy, just attack when they're isolated enough.>No, wait, this is too risky. Bail out.>Write-in.
>>29002020>Don't bother trying to be stealthy, just attack when they're isolated enough.

>>29002068It didn't work so well against the ballista, but this time he's not manifested, doesn't know we're coming and we have armed backup.
>>29002096No, I mean, what incident are you referring to when you say "again"?When you tried to ram the Ballista with a car?
>>29002110That's the one. If we can find a van that's even better because we can have Dan and Richard waiting in the back with guns.
Three options, no lead:>Steal a car and try to run Matthew over with it.>Attack ASAP>Bail.First one to get another vote wins.

You follow after Matthew and his guards for less than five minutes before you see your opportunity, and take it. You wrap your hand around you gun, give Richard a subtle signal, and the two of you open fire on Matthew.Richard fires first, his shot nailing Matthew in the stomach and knocking him off balance, which unfortunately means your shots go wide as you shoot the space where Matthew was just a fraction of a second ago.Matthew's hands reach out, tapping the two men with him for just a fraction of a second, and they tense for a moment before turning on you and Richard, eyes keen and hands drawing their guns. Daniel takes off into the air to avoid getting shot.>Write-in.>Roll 2d20 for your and Richard's dodging.

The two goons make good on their plan to shoot at you, but you and Richard are too fast and manage to slip away from their shots with an almost casual ease, both moving in opposite directions."Disabling shots," you cry to Richard, and open fire on one of the grunts, hitting him in the kneecap. He falls to the ground, groaning in pain and clutching his leg, unable or unwilling to continue to fight; the gun lands a few feet away from himself.Richard fires at the other, striking his leg, but that one manages to persist nonetheless, still standing, though focusing his weight on his good leg.>Write-in.>No matter what, roll 2d20 (best of first three) to dodge the enemy's attacks.

The goon and Matthew open fire, both aiming for you. The goon's shot goes wide, but Matthew's hits its target, landing painfully in your thigh, sending you teetering to one side to balance against the wall."Get the Healer!" You shout to Richard, aiming for Matthew's head yourself. Unfortunately, your cry is enough to alert him to move, and he dodges, the pain in your leg not doing much to help your ability to hit. You fire to no real effect, your vision swimming from the way the recoil and your fresh wound interact.Richard makes his own shot, but he too misses, his shots smashing meaninglessly into the wall.>Write-in.>Roll 2d20 (best of three) for dodging.

Your eyes tear up from the pain as you fire back at Matthew. You miss, being forced to limp backwards to maintain balance."Daniel! Get the fucking... the goon!" Daniel swoops down, landing near the goon and lashing out with a sharp punch, using the bizarre movement of his body to assist the strike a bit, but the guy manages to dodge nonetheless.Richard fires on his own, hitting Matthew in the shoulder, sparking a hiss of rage as Matthew staggers to one side.>Write-in.>Roll 2d20 (best of first three) for dodge (who dodges and what attacks depends on what you do).Your hit points are now low enough that a single hit could take you out of the fight.

You scramble, quickly and unsteadily, around the corner of the building even as the pain distracts you, applying pressure to your chest wound. Glancing behind your back, you see the goon try to punch Daniel, but miss as Daniel smoothly slips around his attack by using his flying abilities, adjusting his position at an extremely rapid pace. The disorienting effect leaves the goon open, and Daniel takes advantage of the opportunity to grab the gun from him.<You should leave them, Abby,> your Cambion "says" inside your head, <you're in serious danger now.>All you can think to do is send a quick <Fuck off> back at it.Glancing around the corner, you see Daniel kick the goon's leg where you shot it, and he painfully crumples to the ground with an unpleasant shriek. Richard, on the other hand, opens fire on Matthew even as Matthew fires back. Matthew's shot doesn't hit, but Richard's does, one bullet nailing him in the side of the face, part of his cheek disintegrating into gore and exposed bone, and he tilts to one side. For a moment, you it was a killing shot, but the fact that he remains standing shows that the damage was not quite lethal."What the fuck is your problem?" he somehow manages, as he draws his gun up again. Matthew takes aim at Richard, firing once, a glancing shot at his shoulder that sends him off balance. It's not enough, though; Richard and Daniel both open fire, bullets tearing into Matthew's body until he collapses, dead. Then you hear sirens. They're still in the distance, but they're getting closer."Fuck, fuck," Richard mutters. He pulls something out of his coat, throwing it underhanded to Daniel. "Toss that on any blood you see. Abigail," he says, face turning towards yours. "How are you feeling?""...woozy," you admit. You've lost a lot of blood. Daniel is looking around the area, moving from place to place and sprinkling the blue powder on any blood that lies nearby. It reacts, nearly invisibly."Daniel, can you carry her?" Richard asks.Daniel bites his lip. "Maybe... Richard shouts, "you need to carry Abigail."Daniel moves to you, even as Richard begins to depart. He grabs you, gingerly, moving you around to his back. You make a tight grip around his neck, and he lifts off the ground. Pain shoots through your wounds from the sudden, rapid motion, and you wince. He moves very quickly for just over a block before you start to lose your grip and he begins to sag underneath you.He lands, indicating for you to release him, and you do so."Sorry," he says, wheezing, "I don't think I can carry you while flying. "I guess I'll have to walk..." you say with a sigh. Daniel gives you an apologetic look before taking off.You put one foot in front of the other, managing a brisk pace. There's pain with every step, but your body keeps going regardless, and eventually you start to become numb to it. It doesn't quite disappear, but it becomes background noise, like the feeling of your socks wrapped around your feet - unnoticed unless you think about it.The source of the sound of sirens stops moving, with the cars presumably parking at the scene of the crime - your homicide. Then they die into the background as you trudge forward. It feels like an eon before you get home, and you remove the outer layers of your clothing and crawl into the bathtub to perform your impromptu surgery. You remove bullets and try to stitch up and bandage the wounds without screaming in pain. You succeed well enough. When the job is finished, you're so tired, so hurt, so woozy, that you just can't muster the will or energy to get up out of the bathtub.Instead, you elect to pass out there, curled up into a ball, the sticky feeling of your own blood clinging to your body going with you until you enter a deep sleep. You're awoken by the sight of your mother, standing at the door to the bathroom, eyes wide in horror as she sees your wounds.>Write-in.

Nice to see you outside of your room."She's still quiet, staring down at you, barely breathing."...I hope this doesn't discourage you from leaving it in the future."She takes a step back, as though in decision."...Mom?"She leaves the bathroom, slamming the door behind her with a loud bang.Your body is willing to cooperate with you now, at least.<You should have left the fight earlier,> your Cambion says, <then this might not have happened.>You silently roll your eyes at it.>Clamber out, go sleep in your bed, make like this never happened.>Clamber out, go talk to your mom and bullshit an excuse.>Bathtub is comfy enough to be a bed, and Mom won't be bothering you here again anytime soon. <And you should shut the fuck up,> you say to your Cambion. You place one arm uneasily on the side of the bathtub, it shaking for a moment before steadying, and hoist yourself up and out. There's an unpleasant peeling sensation as you remove yourself from a particularly sticky patch of your own dried blood.Oh, the blood. Right. No problem. You scrub it away, using water, soap, and brushes to do the job thoroughly. It takes a while, but you keep quiet, and soon enough, the bathtub is pristine. Then you crawl into your room, find a loose fitting shirt and baggy jeans, gingerly pulling them over your body before lying down on your bed and passing back out.In the morning, you prepare breakfast, like normal. Right. This is an opportunity, not a loss. You're wounded. You have a Healer Incubator you want to get your hands on.Calling them on the phone 'Sarah Jameson' called on probably isn't advisable. You decide to go buy another burner... irritating, and it feels vaguely wasteful, but hey. You depart, hitting up a department store for a phone, and calling Brother McAlister, again. You artificially deepen your voice, to try to disguise the fact that you just called him two days ago."Howdy," you say."Hello, this is Brother McAlister speaking. Can I help you?""Yeah, I got seriously hurt and need somebody to fix me up. I heard you have a healer?""Have you been to a hospital? If you haven't, please go there first.""Yes," you say.
