The system:
http://pastebin.com/e3q4q0MP

Basic rules still apply: Roll d20: Highest dice roll out of the first three rolls is used for the Dice Check (DC), while all three rolls are averaged to determine other internal factors, if applicable. Natural 20’s and Critical Failures (1) supersede all other rolls made.

Roll d100: d100’s are used for different factors, the most applicable of which will be listed at the call for the roll. High is always better.

Rolling for Time: When asked to roll for time, the first roll response will be used, with additional rolls used as necessary. This is the only time low rolls are desired.

NewType powers, since they are plot breaking, will be based on a point system.
For every natural 20 you roll, you'll get .5 NTP. If you roll an 11 on a d20, it will be worth .25 of a NTP. Double rolls on a D100 will also garner .25 NTP.

You can exchange 1 NTP for an automatic critical success / plot breaking idea. You can also exchange 1 NTP to reduce an opposing main character's plot armor by 1/4 or 1/2 on any actions you take against them - the amount reduced will be situational, and depend on what you're planning on doing.

----------------------
Current NTP Tally:

Bright Noah (Casval Rem Daikun) Now has 10.5 NTP!
Char Aznable has 13.5 NTP!
Amuro Ray has 3.5 NTP!

Gihren Zabi has 1.5 NTP!
Garma Zabi has 2 NTP!
Kycillia Zabi has 1.5 NTP!
Dozle Zabi has 1.5 NTP!
Sleggar Law has 2 NTP!
Sayla Mass has 2 NTP!
Lalah Sune has 3 NTP!
South Burning has 2.5 NTP!
Cima Garhou has 2 NTP!
Argile Delaz has 2 NTP!
Anavel Gato has 2.5 NTP!
Shiro Amada has 2 NTP!

YOU ARE MOHAI BRET, UNDERCOVER AS BRUTUS SHARP, CAPTAIN OF THE EARTH FEDERATION SPACE FORCE SALAMIS LIGHT CRUSIER NERO (the first one blew up, though, so it's now Nero II) IT DID NOT BLOW UP, SOME ZEKE SHOT IT IN THE ENGINE BLOCK (whatever floats your boat, buddy) LISTEN, YOU-

YOU THINK YOU'RE DRUNK. LUCKILY, YOU ALREADY DRUNK TEXTED YOUR XO (co) WHATEVER YOU TOTALLY TOLD HIM TO COME GET YOU.

"How many of these have I HAD?" Mohai blearily asked his drink as the well-dressed fellow across the table shuffled the cards again.

"Two," the man said.

Mohai's gaze swam from the sapphire blue drink with sparkles in, over the small pile of his winnings, over the man, to the buxom raven haired woman snuggled into him wearing the black dress and habit of a nun, beyond her to the room at large to give the barkeep the stink eye, over the TV that was scrolling text apologizing for lack of extra-colony media, before it settled again on the other man in the booth. "I've never. Never been this drunk off two drinks before." His head hit the table with a thunk. "Gonna hate myself in the morning."

The girl on Mohai's arm tugged at him gently. "That's why you should come home with me," She said in a low, smoky whisper. "Let Mona take good care of you."

Mohai rolled his head to the side to look at the woman. She was pretty. Very pretty, with long black hair that shone in the light were it peeked out of her headwear, a dark complexion, and a certain look about her that implied she could make good on that promise. Make VERY good.

We really should get sobered up a bit. Ask her to general opinion of the colony and public mood. See if she has any inroads about the... "church" she works for. Get her number. Play up the inebriation to see if we can get her to slip about any juicy gossip happening on the colony.

> [X] Can't. Mission

For a brief moment, the image of the young woman removing her habit and loosening her dress flashed before his eyes, but was quickly pushed aside. "Can't," Mohai grunted out. "I'm on... on a mission."

"A mission, is it?" the man sounded intrigued. "Something so important you don't even have time to relax?"

Mohai pushed himself away from the table, but gently as he noticed it begin to move under his strength. "Kind of," he said, "Besides, I'm married. Wife'd... The wife'd kill me."

"Is she here?" The woman asked sweetly.

"No, she's... she's not here. She's on side... side..." Mohai's brain caught up with his mouth and reminded him about secrets, and how to try and keep them secret. "...another side," he finished lamely.

"Well, you know what they say. What happens on a Side, stays on a Side."

Mohai gritted his teeth and shook his head, trying to force himself back to being sober. "No. Not for me. When the mission's over, I can take some leave and go home, see my wife, tell her she's the only woman I love and have that be true."

As he finished, Mona removed her arm from his and moved away from him slightly. She picked up her drink and sipped at it before smiling ruefully. "Lucky woman, your wife."

"Hear her tell it, it's the other way around, " Mohai muttered, "'I didn't marry you just to have you kill yourself in some stupid war', she says. 'Consider yourself lucky I don't divorce you the minute you set foot on that damn ship', she says."

"She say that before your mission?" The man asked, setting the well shuffled deck onto the table between them.

"No. She said that back in... November? December? God, it's been a while."

"Long mission?"

Mohai frowned, reaching for his drink, but then thought better of it. "First there was Loum," he said, and the man whistled a low lilting tone. Mohai nodded at that, because what was there to say about Loum, really? One had either been there, survived it, and knew; or one had only heard about it. "Been doing top secret stuff since. Can't talk about it."

Mohai motioned the waitress over and asked for a glass of water as Mona asked, "What's it like, out there - generally speaking, I mean."

He took a moment to frame his response, and when his water arrived he drinks from it before speaking. "Boring, for the most part, with brief interludes of terror," he finally said.

"Boring? Really? You're putting me on," She said, but a long, cold look from Mohai killed the smile she wore. "Okay, maybe not, but I don't understand it. We hear about the action on Earth - well, we were, anyway, and there's always talk of Zeek this and Zaku's that, and ground lost. "

"It's different on the space front," Mohai explained. "You'll spend weeks just staring at the enemy line. At first, you feel a bit nervous that they'll move when you least expect it. Then boredom begins to set in, and you start to get frustrated because nothing's happening and you're in a tin can with a hundred other more men and women with nothing to do but stare at the enemy. And your orders are to be defensive, attack only when fired upon. So, you get bored. And people stop paying as much attention to their jobs, because nothing happened today, nothing happened yesterday, and the feeling is nothing will happen tomorrow."

Mohai took another long pull of water as the bitter memories sobered him up. "And that's when shit goes wrong. Zaku's everywhere, ships firing left and right, and for a few brief minutes you're doing everything you can to survive and kill them before they kill you." The entire bar seemed to have fallen silent as he finished, saying: "And if you survive? You do it all over again."

At this point, the door to the bar opened, admitting a tall buxom blond woman wearing glasses and an EFF Lieutenant's uniform who proceeded to ignore the barkeep and make a beeline straight for their table. The newcomer then propped a hand on her hip and smiled sharply at Mohai. "I see the company looks good," she said, eying Mona. "How are the drinks?"

"Strong. Or I'm just tired, Jan," Mohai replied.

"Thought as much. The Doc wanted me to remind you you've been awake for two days, and that he recommends bed rest as soon as possible."

Mohai mock groaned. "Another one of his Bright ideas?"

"Yes," Jane nodded, "And it's not an idea, it's an order, Captain. There's a jeep waiting just outside to take you back to base."

Mohai made a shooing motion and Mona reluctantly stood, allowing him out of the booth. As he turned to leave, the man Mohai had been playing cards with called out, "Don't forget your winnings, friend."

"It was a friendly game," Mohai said, shaking his head. "Besides, from what I've heard, EFF Scrip is worthless here."

"I'll use it to settle the tab," the man easily replied.

"I don't think I got your name, sir, " Mohai said.

"Maru Kobayashi. It was a pleasure meeting you, Captain Sharp. Perhaps we can play again sometime?"

"Sometime," Mohai agreed. He then turned to Jane and asked, "You coming?"

>Will Jane stay at the Hungry Serpent?
>[X] No

"Right behind you, sir. Mister Kobayashi. Ma'am," She said in lieu of goodbye. She followed him out as Mohai did his damnedest to avoid the ceiling fans without crashing into anything on their way out. Moderately successful, he escaped into the cool night air of Side Seven, and took a moment to breathe and stretch. The two commandos from the Slammer's who had been relaxing in the Jeep, one taking the time to smoke a cigarette, quickly snapped to attention upon seeing them exit the bar.

"Back to base, ser?" The smoker asked.

Mohai nodded as he and Jane slipped into the back seat. Once again surrounded by people he could trust, Mohai found his body relaxing, muscles he had not realized he had tensed were all quietly whispering of fatigue.

Jane smiled softly as Mohai's head fell forward and he drifted off to sleep.

---------------------------------------------
S7 Bay Block North, Main Hangar, Area 4.
---------------------------------------------

Bright tipped his cap back up, forcing his tired mind back into gear - mad men and dirigibles notwithstanding, he had a job to do. He eyed the blimp from the main viewport, and estimated it to be about a third of the Salamis' length. It had nimbly set down near the forward prow near the area in which the Zudah was tethered, and as he watched, panels on the side of the blimp began to open up, revealing the inner ballast balloons... And a very large open area in the middle, complete with waldos and teacher points to manipulate and secure large cargo in Zero-G. Large cargo, or Mobile Suit components, if not entire Mobile Suits. Bright pulled out his eTab and dialed Ceff.

"Kraft here," the old man said brightly. "Marvel of engineering, isn't it?"

Bright was about to ask if Ceff were referring to the blimp, but stopped himself. Of course he meant the blimp. "I take it you're outside?"

"You even need to Ask? You should See this in person, Lieutenant. It'd knock your Hat off."

So Chris, Lourie and Jean were out there with him. "I might just. You ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be, Ed. I do have the advantage of Science being a universal language!"

For a moment, Bright saw a vision of a small Ceff strutting up to another man, and the both of them holding an animated conversation which consisted solely of the word 'Science' being thrown about with various bits capitalized. Large floating question marks, exclamation points, and pie charts were also involved. Bright shook himself out of it, and decided he should probably get some sleep soon. "Think you need me down there?"

The line was quiet for a moment before Ceff spoke again. "We can probably handle it, but it does help if someone in command presides over things like this. Makes it look all official."

> [X] Head outside and preside.

Bright thought it over for a moment before saying "I'll come down. Most I'll be able to manage is a greeting and to look grumpy, though, so don't Science me too much," he said, letting the exhaustion he still felt color his tone.

"I think that's all we need, really," Ceff said gently. "Gotta run, tech time."

Bright slid the eTab back into his pocket and reappointed the communications operator Officer On Watch before leaving the bridge. On his way through the boarding bay, he motioned for one of the two commandos to follow him, and the trooper fell into line behind Bright.

Outside, he saw Ceff talking to a man who seemed to be dressed as a Catholic priest as Christine was advising the salvage crew and his two pilots on how to remove the tethers holding the tarp in place over the Zudah. The priest kept glancing at the hole in the side of the hull and the containers visible inside which held the disguised Magella Attack tanks. Bright alighted on the ground and made his way over. "Excuse me, padre," he said as he broke into the conversation - something about thruster arrangement or some such. "Have you come to offer some words for the departed?"

The man stopped talking, his body going rigid in surprise at Bright's words. "Have I...? Oh, umn, I could, yes, I suppose. Not really my calling, but, ahem." he cleared his throat and proceeded to say in a very solemn tone, "Memento occisorum. Qui frustra mortui sunt numquam obliviscentur. In Nomine Patris Et Filii Et Spiritus Sancti, Amen."

Bright nodded, equally solemn. "Thank you, Father."

Tem Ray reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, laughing a bit nervously. "Don't mention it, Lieutenant. Please. I'm here for your captured unit."

Bright glanced at the man's clothes, and back up to his face. "My apologies. I shouldn't have assumed."

"No, no, I might not be a priest, but even we engineers respect those who have given their lives in the pursuit of science. I'm sorry for the loss of your fellow crewmen."

"Thank you. I'll let you get to your real job, then, shall I?" Bright asked as the tarp was pulled fully away from the blue giant.

Tem's attitude flipped completely. "Blue? I thought only the Goufs were blue. And the lack of power piping..." he shot a sidelong glance at Ceff, asking, "Internal I-field power generation?"

"Well, [Sciency Science with an extra helping of Science!]" Ceff replied.

Bright stepped away as the two men began getting really involved.

Bright set himself up for a long period of waiting, he and the commando who was shadowing him settling in an out of the way area which still allowed them to see what all was going on. Bright let himself look as tired as he felt, and tried to zone out. He noted after a while the two science nuts had managed to get the Zudah off the side of the ship without blowing anything up. At one point, Jean wandered by, arm in arm with Lourie, and he nodded at them when they saluted on their way past to help Tem's techs move the Magellas. His eyes tracked the waldos as they reached from the dirigible to latch onto the Zudah's right shoulder and waist armor, and rotated the unit until it was in line with the blimp's internal bay before gently retracting, pulling the unit inside. As the sides of the blimp rolled shut, Bright became aware of Tem standing before him looking thoughtful, and brought himself back to reality. "Yes?" he asked. It came out as a near grunt.

"Your man, Luke... he seems to know his way around Zeek tech," Tem said cautiously.

"That's why he was assigned to us," Bright replied tiredly. "Why?"

"Wondering if I could borrow him is all."

"You take him, you take his team. Get them out of my hair while I figure out how to patch up my ship," Bright said.

"About that... The entire frontal prow will probably need replacing, what with that hole and all. I've been trying to come up with a few designs to enable Salamis cruisers to more ably carry balls, along with other equipment," Tem hedged.

Bright blinked at him owlishly. "Are you offering to... upgrade my ship if I let you borrow my technicians?"

"Yes."

Bright pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Fine. Needs to be fixed anyway. While your men are working on that, think they can give the engine a look over? The north side heat exchanger, I think it was, blew off during shutdown for maintenance."

"Sure thing, Lieutenant?"

"Mass," Bright replied, "Edward mass."

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Lieutenant Mass. And if you don't mind, I'll be heading off now. Not quite what I had in mind for this evening, but..." he turned with a flourish, his right arm outstretched and pointing to his dirigible. "Science!"

Ceff whistled and snapped his fingers from where he and Chris were waiting, grabbing Jean and Lourie's attention, and the five of them strode gallantly into the glare of the 'Spirit of Inspiration's landing lights.

Bright called out to them with "And I want it done ASAP!" but only recieved a waive as a response. Bright then let the commando resume his duties, and wondered where he should call it a night.

Maybe call Janet to find out where the rest of the officers are staying... if things go south, best to be near a friend...

It's too early to call Sayla, she'd probably kill us for calling at 1 in the morning... and the Ship will probably be rather noisy due to the repairs and maneuvering of equipment...

Tem Ray was staring at the tank containers in the Salamis.

The Nero has real or fake battle damage to it?

Oh dear god.

Why not just recruit Tem onto our side? Him and Ceff get on like a house on fire... Hell, he called his Zepplin 'Spirit of Inspiration' and declared 'Science!'.... It might take some NTPs but there is a chance that we can get yet another prominent MS engineer onto our side...

Bright Noah (Casval Rem Daikun) Now has 10.75 NTP!

He left the hangar, and rode the lift down in silence. As the lift neared the outer edge of the colony, and the first realistic gravity he had felt in a few months, his weary body dragged at him heavier than ever. As the lift doors opened, he took a step forward and nearly stumbled as his inner ear took a moment to tell him he was falling. He shook his head and soldiered on; reminding himself it was always like that due to the Coriolis Effect. As he neared the vehicle depot, a soldier asked if he needed a driver, but Bright just waived him away. He took a small jeep and started the engine while pulling out his eTab and dialing Jane. She picked up after he pulled out of the lot and began his search.

"Ward."

"Mass. I'm heading out into the colony to find someplace to stay. How's Mohai?" he asked.

"Sleeping like a log. Did you need him?"

"No. Just wanted to check. Call me if anything comes up?" as she said she would, bright remembered, "Oh, and I might have agreed to let the crazy EFF scientist upgrade the Nero."

"That's -Wait, WHAT."

"Ciao." And Bright hung up on her. His eTab buzzed angrily at him a moment later, but he knew what she would say. 'Son of a Bitch' or something similar.

He pulled off to the side of the road and looked around. The difference between the occupied housing and vacant was easily apparent at night, with lights showing habitation shining into the darkness of the streets. He put the jeep into gear and went a little farther out, about three or four miles from the lift, and spotted a place that might work. He pulled the jeep into the empty carport and killed the engine. It was a two storey affair, and looked nice from what he could see of it. He left the jeep and checked the front door, finding it unlocked, and entered.

The main room was an undivided living space, furnished with a large couch and a flat panel television on the wall, a coffee table the size of the CIC table in the Nero separated the couch and the TV. Further back there was a large dining room table with six chairs surrounding it, and he could see the room continue into the kitchen. The only door on the first floor led into an office, hastily emptied with shards of the former tenant's life left strewn about. Bright took the stairs up and found four bedrooms, with a full size bathroom in the master suite. He didn't bother to check the other rooms as he shrug off his uniform and fell into the king sized mattress. he had just enough time to think it felt nice before he fell into sleep.

Why do those Goufs look so wierd?
>>
>>29008427

Well... It might have something to do with the United Maintenance Plan... The one that was instigated by Sasro Zabi to ensure that the development of MS units was as cost effective as possible, so nearly all of the new designs will be available as an upgrade kit for the Zaku...

Or in terms of just the picture? I believe that that is the Black Tri-Stars Custom Zaku IIs...
>>
>>29010434
Speaking of the United Maintenance Plan however, I still believe Zeon is up shit creek.

We need the Hizacks and Gelgoogs to be in mass production before November, otherwise, Odessa will get fucked. There's no conceivable way we can actually win Odessa otherwise, even if the spy (Elbrian?) fucks with Federation force placement.

>>

What supplies? M'Quve's "Zeon can fight another ten year's" supplies?

Even so, we've got like what, Dopps vs. Saberfish? Egads, we've already lost aerial supremacy. We have one tenth of the rocket artillery the Feds will bring to Odessa, one half of the surface to surface missiles, 7.7 million in infantry vs. 0.98 million, it's a fucking disaster.

We need to obliterate the air forces somehow before we can take on the infantry.

>The thing is, there's been over fifty years of peace in the Earth Sphere. According to Ultimate Mark's Timeline, which I use as a general guideline as well, 'UC 0022; The Earth Federation government declares that war has been eradicated from the surface of the Earth.' 7.7 Million troops is an extremely large number for a standing peacetime military for a One World Government system that's supposedly 'Diplomatic'. And then you have the losses incurred by the One Week Battle and The Battle of Loum.
>Makes one wonder why the EFF has so many troops. Also, with Zeon's total population being a minimum of two billion people, and a maximum of 7 billion, having an active wartime military of under one million, even after the losses of Loum, is very low.

>As for the Dopps, remember - all of Zeon's military tech revolved around the idea they were going to be invaded from space, and would need to protect the Sides. Dopps work well in Zero-G atmosphere, such as the Colonies. They essentially had a panoramic cockpit before MS did. Magella Attack tanks are in the same boat - it's the only way I can think of to make their hover system useful. If the base is damaged or destroyed, it becomes a Zero-G fighter / escape capsule.

Well, China has about 3 million in active service despite being peace time. Besides, this is months after a draft. And, well, peace can be a relative thing. It could just mean no conventional war between two nation-states in over fifty years. I heard some countries had their own independent militaries pre-OYW. Presumably, they were integrated into the EFGF.

I like to write off the EFGF as being a neglected branch that has been made to serve as peacekeepers & military police, and has been rife with corruption. Which is why the tech may seem so poor and the infantryman given barebones equipment.

This is pretty close to what I think the original Zaku III/Zaku II Final was going to look like. Originally, ZZ was going to be another huge war and all.

I figure it'd take cues from the HiMo series, a little bit from the Gelgoog, and then bits of Zaku Cannon, Zaku Mariner and Desert Zaku.

>Sorry for the delay. Faceless sent me some good ideas that I wanted to include.

-----------------

Bright awoke feeling heavy, but refreshed. He convinced his body to get out of the nice, warm bed and managed to navigate into the bathroom to grab a shower. The lack of soap and shampoo was annoying, but he made do. Getting out and toweling off with a bath sheet in the linen closet, Bright decided he should probably head to the base exchange to pick up some amenities. As his stomach rumbled, he added breakfast to the list.

He reentered the master bedroom and dressed, frowning at the wrinkles in his uniform. It would have to do for now, as the only clothing left behind in the closet were women's fashion. He made his way downstairs carefully, still unused to gravity, and stopped before he opened the door.

There was an unadorned envelope on the tile in the foyer, the edge crumpled as if it had been pushed under the door.

He took the letter into the kitchen, grabbed a pairing knife, and carefully cut down the envelope's narrow side. He took a paper towel and laid it on the counter, and gently coaxed the envelope's contents out while holding his breath.

No puff of powder, for a start. Just a tri-folded letter and what appeared to be a photograph. Bright gently teased the letter open with the knife.

'Dir Sir,' it began, 'As you are not a regular member of the garrisoned forces here on Side Seven, it may concern you to find the people here are subject to military law, thanks in no small part to what appears to be a secret military project underway on this colony. The exact location remains unknown, but there exists a group of like-minded individuals who wish to expose this project and have it relocated to a purely military installation, such as Luna II. Enclosed is a photograph of the manifest for materials received during the last cargo shipment of food and supplies. These materials, such as unrefined titanium ore, graphene, technical glass, and others, are not necessary for sustaining life on the colony or continuing in its construction. Should you find yourself as concerned as we are, we could use your help in gathering what information you can on the matter for future public disclosure in order to further the stated goal of removing military research and development projects from a colony inhabited by civilians. Please give this matter some consideration, but do not inform the soldiers garrisoned on Side Seven of this letter.
We shall contact you at a future date should we believe you to have kept this matter in confidence.'

It was signed 'A Friend'.

bright rose a skeptical eyebrow and eyeballed the photograph. It was taken by a tablet, most likely, as the lines were blurry and hard to make out exactly what the list of materials contained, but the words 'Luna - 100 tons titanium ore' and 'Luna - 200 tons Graphene, Powdered' were circled on the photograph's surface. The itemized list of various technical glass were bracketed in red. Bright knew that a Zaku's main camera lens was made of Technical glass for strength and clarity. Perhaps there was something to this.

Or maybe it would be best to leave the entire matter alone, considering his own mission. Still, it might be best to contact Jane about this.

I wonder if an Agamemnon type ship will make an appearance in this quest. Either as a Zeon alternative to the Dolos Carrier or as a Feddie design to compensate for the loss of White Base. Hell, it could be a home grown Riah Republic design as well, I'm sure they have a few designs cooking away.

>A Letter from 'A Friend'
> [X] Contact Jane

Bright retrieved his eTab and made a call. It took some cajoling on his part after hanging up on her last night, but he did manage to convince Jane to snag Mohai and meet him at the house.

"Oh, and bring breakfast," Bright added, closing the door to the empty refrigerator. "I don't have anything in the fridge."

Jane sighed. "Fine, fine. What's the address?"

Bright paused, and then went outside and read it off the wall plaque. "599 Ironwood Circle."

"Right. We'll be there in fifteen."

Bright went back inside and settled into the couch to wait it out, flipping on the TV. When nothing of interest catching his attention, Bright flipped it off as he heard a pair of doors slam outside, followed by a brisk knock. He opened the door and gestured for Jane and Mohai to enter.

"Nice place," Mohai said as Jane pushed a McDaniel's bag into Bright's chest before throwing herself into the couch and crossing her arms.

"Thanks," he said, before opening the bag and unwrapping a hamburger. "Hamburgers? For breakfast? Really?"

"It's nearly noon, breakfast menu was closed. Take what you can get," She said. "What did you need?"

Bright handed her the envelope and it's contents and settled down to watch her reaction, munching on the hamburgers. They were good. Really good. Mohai fetched a pair of chairs from the kitchen and arranged them to face the couch before holding out a hand and Bright passed him a burger as he took a seat next to his friend.

"Where did you get this?" Jane finally asked in something more akin to her normal tone of voice.

"Found it stuffed under my door this morning."
>>
>>29023104

"What is it?" Mohai asked, and Jane passed it to him. "Huh. Some kind of resistance movement?"

"Or a trap," Jane said, tapping a finger against her chin in thought. "Did you solicit those two at the bar last night, or did they come to you?" She asked of Mohai.

He frowned, setting the letter down on the coffee table between them. "I don't remember much, mind you. But I recall sitting in at the bar to order the drink, and then the girl convinced me to take the booth with the card shark."

"Card shark?" Bright said, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth. "Mohai, you're lousy at card games."

"And yet I was winning," he said simply.

Jane and Bright looked at each other, any animosity forgotten. "Another member?"

"Probably," Bright returned. "Fits with the MO of a grass roots organization. Be friendly, put people at ease, gain information, garner support and sympathy."

"The fellow gave me his name," Mohai hazarded.

"Maru Kobayashi," Jane supplied, and he nodded.

"The nun-"

"Escort," Jane cut in.

"Gave, wait, Escort?" Mohai asked. "What?"

Jane gave Mohai a look. "I'm a spy, 'Brutus'. I can spot that kind of thing a kilometer away. She gave you a name?"

"Mona," Mohai said.

"Not much to go one there," she said. "What do you want to do, 'Edward'?"

Bright considered carefully.

"They could prove useful," Bright said at length.

"They could prove deadly," Jane countered. "These people aren't military; probably have poor organization, and worse intelligence gathering capabilities."

"Should make it easier for you to hunt them down, then," Bright replied easily.

Jane exhaled in exasperation before throwing her hands into the air. "Fine. I'll look into it."

"What about Ulysses?" Bright asked. "Think he might have run into these folks?"

"We'd have to ask him to find out," Jane said. "He's posing as a civilian, but it's not entirely out of the question. He could as easily be neck deep as he could be shying away from them."

"It'll need to wait until five. Unless you need a hair cut," Jane said, opening her phone app and dialing a number.

Bright blinked, and looked to Mohai. The large man held up his hands to ward him away. "Once was enough, thank you." Bright looked back to Jane, who just smirked and put her eTablet on speaker phone. A jingle began to play as an answering machine picked up, and Mohai blinked in surprise. "Hey, that was playing on the TV last night."

And then the lyrics began, and Bright felt his mouth fall open in shock while Jane smirked at him like the cat that caught the canary.

`If you're living in a bubble and you haven't got a care~`
`If you should find yourself in trouble there's no time to style your hair~!`
`Well if a Clip is what you need then come to us we'll hear your plead~`

Ramba Ral's gravely voice snapped out of song and proceeded to say, "Thank you for calling 'Space bob's! Where our motto is 'Pixie Cuts Make You Look Cute And They Fit In A Normal Suit'! We cannot come to the phone right now, as we're busy doing what we do best. Please leave your name and number, and we will be happy to call you back to set up an appointment. Thank you for your business!"

"oh my god...." Bright muttered into his hand, trying not to laugh aloud as Jane proceeded to leave her name, number, and left an additional four digit 'extension'.

She hung up the phone app and pocketed her tablet. "He'll get back to us."

"You knew?" Bright asked, and she smirked at him. "The entire time, you knew that Ramba was this 'Ulysses' guy?"

Jane nodded. "Worth every minute of waiting for the reveal, I assure you," she said smiling. "But it looks like we'll have some time to kill."

"I'm going to back to the Nero for now," Bright said, standing. "This location is a good place to crash, but it lacks a lot of the necessities. Figure I'll pack a bag and head to the BX for some basics."

"Sounds good," Jane replied. "I'm going to head back to the place I scouted out, and start working on this," she said waiving the letter. "When Ulysses calls back, I'll let you know."

"Brutus?" Bright asked.

"I'll head back with you, sure. I'm in the same shape you are. Going to need to find a spot of my own soon," he said, standing up. As he and Bright made their way to the door, Mohai asked "The gravity feel a little off to you?"

"Off? Not that I've noticed, really. Other than that feeling you get going downspin," he said.

"The one your brain mistakes for falling forward and coming up short?" Mohai asked as they got into Bright's jeep. "It'll pass."

"Still annoying, though," Bright said, waiting for Jane to pull out before doing so himself. He took a quick photo of the address plaque with his eTab before heading out, to remind himself of the address later.

>Rolled: 98, 90, 87.

On the way back to the ship, they passed the BX and a familiar shock of red hair in the middle of a crowd of cheering EFF soldiers caught his attention. He quickly pulled the emergency brake, wrenched the wheel around, and dropped the brake as the jeep spun into a hard half circle and faced the direction they had come. Mohai gave a grunt of surprise as Bright gunned it back to the BX, pulling into the lot on two tires and catching everyone's attention, save his hard headed pilot and the tall man with blond hair she was nose to nose with.

Bright jumped out of the jeep and proceeded to walk unmolested towards the two as the crowd parted to allow him entry. As he approached, he could hear the two of them clearly.

"Women and children don't belong on the battlefield!" The tall blonde shouted at the smaller Pamila.

"My skill at piloting would say otherwise," she snapped coldly at the man, angling her head as if ready to tear into his throat. "As should be apparent by the fact that I kicked your ass."

"Now now, the both of you," a dark haired man with squinted eyes said from the rear, hands held before himself. "It's just a sim, no need to get violent."

"Stay out of this Tenith," the blonde growled, his head moving to mirror Pamila's.

"Alright, break it up, the both of you," Bright said as he approached. "Private Pheonix, disengage."

She flinched, and took two steps back before turning to salute Bright. The other man nearly lunged forward after her, but was held fast by the unassuming man he had referred to as Tenith earlier. "Yazan," he said sternly.

The blonde man finally relented, turning on his heel and walking back into the building, ignoring Bright and Mohai. Tenith turned to Bright and offered a weak smile. "Sorry sirs. He's a difficult one to handle."

"Trust me," Bright said, eying Pamila. "I know the type. Get in the jeep." Pamila pressed her lips into a thin line, but complied. Bright turned back to the young man. "Thanks for trying to keep them from tearing into each other, Lieutenant?"

"Ensign, Tenith Jung, Lieutenant Mass," he said, looking curiously at Bright. "My, it has been a while since I heard Lieutenant used for an Ensign. SpecOps, are we?

Bright frowned. Jane hadn't said anything about different rank organization within the EFF. "Quite. We've been out of the loop for a bit, on mission. Did I miss a memo?"

Tenith chuckled, but waived his hand. "Nothing that major, sir. But it's yet to be publicly announced. If you'll excuse me?" He saluted sharply, and bright returned it, watching as he walked away.

Something about the man rang 'Danger' in the corners of Bright's mind.

-----------------------------------------
MEANWHILE, ON SOLOMON
-----------------------------------------

Dozle opened the door to his suit of rooms on Solomon, allowing his mother entry before calling out "Zena, my love! We have company!"

Curious, Zena came out of the bedroom with little Mineva in her arms, the latter of which took one look at Naliss before stretching her arms out as far as she could to her grandmother, making little sounds of happiness the entire while. Naliss smiled widely, and nearly ran for the little one, and the women proceeded to coo over Mineva for a long while.

Dozle smiled, and contented himself with watching from afar. It was a father's prerogative to bask in the knowledge his daughter was the cutest thing anyone could hope to see on the otherwise austere asteroid base.

After a lengthy reunion, Naliss straightened and said, "Well, on to business, then. I'm here on Degawin's behest to have both your help in securing the alliance with Riah."

"Oh?" asked Zena, taking Mineva back, much to her daughter's brief displeasure. "What are the terms being discussed?"

Naliss took a seat on the overstuffed couch and stretched out like a cat for a moment before answering. "Deg agrees with Dozle that being a good neighbor is also good PR for our campaign against the Earth Federation," she explained. "Gihren wants more materials to fuel the war machine, as ever, but Sasro is tempering him somewhat; he managed to get Gihren to agree to President Sherk's request for Mobile Suit technology and a Pilot Academy in exchange for thirty percent of Riah's Mobile Suit production being sent to aide the war effort."

"Only thirty?" Dozle scoffed.

"Better than the fifty he originally wanted, dear," Naliss said.

"Is that his minimum?" Zena asked.

"I believe he would acquiesce to twenty, but he wouldn't be pleased with it," Naliss replied.

"And then there's the materials secured from the EFF base. I'm sure Shrek will withhold as much of that information as he can if he doesn't find the deal agreeable to his nation." Dozle said solemnly. "Which would be unfortunate for us - I've been informed these new technologies are quite the improvement even over Zimmad's proposed 'Rick Dom' MS-oh nine space capable upgrade."

"True. He is a rather shred negotiator when needs be," his mother said in agreement. "I was wondering if you had anything else you wanted to place on the negotiation table."

Dozle stroked his chin in thought as his wife fussed over their child.

>What additional terms do you wish to add to the negotiations?
>Riah desires Mobile Suit Technology and a Pilot Training Academy similar to Zeon's Earth Sphere Combat Doctrine And Tactics Academy, ESCDATA, to help secure their national borders and sovereignty. Kareem Councilman and Royal Skewis have already been earmarked for that project, should the alliance be green lit.

>And that will do it for this installment of Bright Quest, I think. I'll stick around for a while and aswer any questions / field comments. Thanks for joning me in my silly game of Giant Robots!

>Wait, Sasro is alive?

Yes. In Cannon UC, Sasro dies due to a car bombing by Deikun supporters. This was mainly caused by Degawin being the last person Zeon Deikun 'spoke' to before passing.

However, Zeon's wife, Astraia, was in the same room. A caring wife should be the one by his bedside, not a political ally.

As such, Astraia heard Zeon's last words, which were 'See us to the future'. The Zabi family moved to create the Autocracy, and were supported by most Deikun supporters. Those who didn't like it left Side 3.

This leaves Sasro alive, and a business mogul. He's currently on Axis, heading the business ventures between Zeon and the Jupiter Energy Development Group.

As an added bonus, Sasro being alive means Gihren had no reason to 'Purge' (read: mercilessly slaughter in revenge) the Deikun supporters in U.C. 0069.08.

Casval and Artesia were moved to Earth because Jimba Ral felt the 'Purge' was nearly going to happen anyway. Thankfully it did not.
