You are Bianca Machiti, and you want to pop whoever is pounding on your door in the face. A quick look at the clock shows it's a new day, almost noon to be precise. Yesterday was... insane. After a week straight of sleepless nights, you had some sort of breakdown during a sparring match with your friend and mentor, Donna. Turns out that it was your 'first ascent', the moment when you came into your powers as Bia, a Greek goddess. You tried to go home and lie down, but along the way you were assaulted by a monster out of Egyptian Myth.

"C'mon, Bianca! Open up!" Oh good. Donna. Now that you're feeling better, you're glad to hear from her. She's been a longtime friend, and she's taught you everything you know about fighting... You drag yourself up and shout for her to give you a minute, before quickly changing into a non blood-stained t-shirt and a fresh pair of sweat pants. It takes you a minute to make it to the door, and Donna slides in as soon as you open it, checking you over and fussing over you.

"Wha' awe 'ou 'oing?" You ask as she opens your mouth and peers inside. She shrugs. "I have no idea, but my mom always looked at my throat when I was sick." She says, slapping you on he shoulder and grinning. "You look a lot better than yesterday. You feeling ok?" She's pulling you into your apartment and pushes you into a chair, heading towards the kitchen.

>What say?

"Yeah, I am. Not hard after that beat-down really. Still feeling a bit shit though."

Sit there and let her baby you. I mean, sure she sounds like she has no idea what she's doing, but I'm sure that we are still feeling like shit from yesterday.

Tell her that you're doing better, and that you appreciate her checking on us. Maybe tell her that you owe her a proper fight later. Also ask how everybody at the gym reacted to our incident.
>>
>>29078702
>Yeah it, uh. Was probably just some bug. Already come and gone, just left a mighty headache behind. Thanks for asking by the way, can I make you anything? Probably need some coffee myself.
>>
>>29078702
Looking forward to the session by the way! Missed yesterday's since it was Christmas dinner time.
>>

Probably with disgust, given the puke and all.

"Yeah, I am. Thanks for coming and checking up on me. Can I make you anything? I could use some coffee..." You explain, starting to stand. She points at you and glares until you sit back down. "I think it was jut a bug, already come and gone. Still feeling a bit like shit, left a mighty headache behind." She sets the coffee machine, then comes and sits at the table with you. "How did the others at the gym react?" You ask, feeling a little embarrassed.

"Eh. A few of the guys were grossed out, but people get sick. Not like none of them never puked their guts up." She says with a grin. You nod, rubbing your eyes and leaning back, trying to avoid the sun coming in the window. She's quiet for a bit, just nodding to herself and staring at the table. "I uh. You know you can talk to me, right? I'm your friend." She hesitantly says, staring at you. "Talk to me about, you know, stuff like... why your car got hauled off by a wrecker, looking like someone put it into an industrial cutter or something?"

Oh shit.

>Oh shit. What say?
>>
>>29078921
Ffffuck.
>Pretend you ran out of gas and left it along the way last night, didn't know anything about this.
>>
>>29078921
"I'm a goddess."
Did that dude yesterday say anything about involving civilians? I'm kinda stumped as to how to explain this given 'car accident' would just prompt questions about how we survived, and didn't call her about it or even bring it up yet.
>>
>>29078921
>I..can't tell you, I'm sorry. I promise it's not as bad as it seems. Please trust me on this.
>>
>>29078921

Stoneface. Say some jagoff must have stolen it and then awakened as an ancient Viking deity.
>>
>>29078962
Seconding.
>>
We're going to have to tell her something. We're punching through stuff now. She could seriously get hurt if we go boxing.

"Watch this." And do a feat of strength of some sort. Lifting something heavy, bending steel. That sort of thing. "Turns out I'm magic. And other magic things want to kill me. One of those cut my car in half."
>>

You stare at her for a moment, mind blank. Then stare another moment, warring options in your head. Do you come clean or lie your ass off? You trust Donna, but you really don't want her to get caught up in this. On the same vein, however, you know her. She will dig and pry, and she's around most of the time. She's going to get drawn in one way or another, and it would be better if she didn't go in totally blind.

"Uh. Well." You clear your throat. "I uh. Well. Long story short? Magic. Greek magic." You nervously explain, laughing with a weak grin. She cocks an eyebrow and you sigh, standing and shuffling to the kitchen. You root through the cabinets and draw an old skillet you never use anymore. You grip it in both hands and twist, tearing in like thick paper with the loud and ear piercing screech of abused metal.

"Oh what the fuck." Donna mutters, staring blankly. She lean against the table as you explain things to her, the bare basics. You explain you don't know any more than you've been told by Hermes, and that the only proof you have is your power and the thing that attacked you. You show her your wings, and your staff, and you end up rambling on as she quietly and blankly stares at you.

"...huh. Well. Ain't that a bitch." She finally says, getting up and walking past you to get the coffee and pouring two mugs. She kicks hers back, and you wince. "Isn't that hot?" "Lil' bit." She mutters, topping off again, eyes watering. "Yup. Burns. Just making sure." She mutters. "So. What now?"

>That was easy. Too easy? What now?
>>
>>29079549
>Well, that's a good question. No, uh...no interrogation then? Probably just as well since I'm almost as clueless as you are. Just...try not to get caught up in anything, and I'll keep you updated. All that's happened so far is an asshole telling me I've got these powers, and some other asshole trying to tear me a new one, and failing.
>>
>>29079549
"Well, now I try not to die, mostly. How about in return for no doomed attempts at fighting some 10-foot monstrosity to save me or whatever, I'll keep you in the loop?"
>>
>>29079549
>Too easy

She's one of them. Run away.
>>
>>29079634
This, and make sure she's alright. Not like we've had much time to let this all sink in ourself, and she is kinda too calm for my liking.
>>
>>29079549
>What, that seems a bit easy. You're just gonna buy it? Give me some proper disbelief here Donna, c'mon!
>>
>>29079549
That isn't the right reaction.

The could be more than meet the eye here.
>>
>>29079710
>>29079818
I dunno, the skillet would be reasonably convincing, and Donna might be someone who takes things at their face value, we just don't know.
>>
>>29079840
Convincing, definitely. Still, taking the time to make sure she's okay after watching her friend break that shit like paper with her bare hands sounds reasonable to me.
>>
>>29079591
>>29079653
"Now? Good question... Well, now I try not to die, mostly. No, uh... no interrogation, then?" You ask. She shrugs. "You're ripping cast iron apart. Not a lot I can do to deny that." She explains. You nod. "Alright... just. Look, how about in return for no doomed attempts at fighting some ten-foot monstrosity to save me or whatever, I'll keep you in the loop?" You ask, looking hopeful. She snorts. "Oh, yeah. Because you have such a choice there." She grins.

You rest your head on the table. "All that's happened so far is an asshole telling me I've got these powers, and some other asshole trying to tear me a new one. And failing." You explain, covering your head with your arms to hide from the sun. "You're taking things better than I thought you would." You admit. "Better than I am, actually." She shrugs.

"Well, you've never really lied to me, Bianca. And hell, you're ripping metal apart and have wings. And your neat little bracelet. Am I just supposed to deny it's happening? Shit, I see it, so I believe it. All we gotta do now is decide on how to handle it.

Your phone, which you know damn good and well you didn't put in the pocket of your new pants, rings in the pocket of your new pants.

>What do?
>>
>>29079876
>put phone on vibrate
>raep Donna
>>
>>29079876
Well, might as well take it. Just mention it's probably asshole A to Donna first.
>>
>>29079876
Answer it you dumb winged enforcer of Zeus.
>>
>>29079876
Just refuse the call, tell her it's asshole A wanting to blab at you again, and just to ignore it. Tell her it's nice to have someone to confide in, and that things haven't really registered properly yet for you. Ask if these clothes make your wings look big to lighten things up.
>>
>>29079876
Answer that shit, we need all the info we can get. Donna might have suggestions for questions we can ask too.
>>
>>29079920
>>29079924
>>29079983
"Oh. It's the asshole." You mutter, drawing the phone. It lights up with a message.

"Darling, is that any way to talk about your friends? You're lucky I'm not easily hurt! I'm afraid it's not time for a Q and A session just yet. We'll be meeting soon, actually! But now... I bring great tidings! A message, to all ascending in New York! The Fates have issued their first challenge. The Nemean Lion has been brought forth. Whoever finds and slays it will be gifted its coat, and a fraction of their immortal might. The kitty is where it's always been, basking in the wisdom of ages. That's your one hint!" The text seems almost overjoyed in itself.

Donna reads from over your shoulder. "Nemean Lion?" She asks, drawing her phone. She's quiet while you consider the text. Anything to try and ask Hermes before it goes dark again?

>What say?
>>
>>29080273
Well, basking in the Wisdom of ages would point to a museum or library, unless they want us to go all the way to Nemea itself. Which would seem excessive. So I guess, ask if it's at a museum. We can also ask Donna for thoughts. Any other ideas?
>>
>>29080273
"Can I kill it with my staff?"

I'm already assuming no, but we might as well check unless someone else has something better.

Must be either a museum or a library. What're the big ones or more important ones in the city?
>>
>>29080273
According to google, I guess check the Old Westbury Gardens, Long Island?
>>
>>29080273
>Any reason why I shouldn't just ignore all of these and try to stay out of it?
>>
The Nemean Lion's hide is tough. Hercules had to strangle it I believe... Lets look into some steel cable maybe?
>>
>>29080412
Fuck that, let's Hercules it. WE'VE GOT THE POWER OF BRUTE FUCKING FORCE!
>>
>>29080485
I'm not sure we're Hercules level yet.
>>
>>29080485
We might be strong but the Namean Lion is huge. We won't be able to wrap our arms around its neck.
>>
>>29080485
Hercules used a club and a bow and arrow when he went to defeat the Lion. Hercules had tools, not just brute strength.
>>
>>29080344
>>29080363
>>29080378
>>29080406
>>29080412
"Ok... is there any reason why I shouldn't just ignore all of these and try to stay out of it?" You ask.

"Well, you can. But if you do, you'll stay weak and an easy target. The others will grow and grow and grow, and the other pantheons won't just stop sending assassins because you're not playing ball." The text comes up.

"Of course. Right. Can I kill it with my staff?" You ask. "Probably not." Donna mutters. "Hercules killed it by whacking it over the head and then strangling it, because its hide was impenetrable." She reads off. You nod.

"Tick tock, darling." The message comes up. "All the other godlings in your city have learned of this, same as you. They'll be trying to find it and kill it before you do. Have fun, Bia!" The phone goes dark.

"Ok, let's see. There's a statue of Heracles and the Lion in Old Westbury Gardens, and I'm pretty sure the Metropolitan Museum of Art has some Greek stuff. Then there's the lions out front of the New York Public Library..." Donna explains, fiddling with her phone.

>Where do you want to try? What sort of gear do you want to bring along?
>>
>>29080525
Nah, it only weighs about as much as a female Asian Elephant according to Age of Mythology.
>>
Alright, alright, going MAN-MODE on the lion is probably a bad move. Worth noting the lion has some fuck-off tough claws too, since they apparently cut its impenetrable skin.

Still, assuming we reach it before anyone else does the best plan might be to find our way onto its back and use some steel cable to strangle it. Hell, maybe something stronger than steel cable.
>>
>>29080561
Statue in the gardens first - it's the actual beast, guaranteed, AND it seems a much better battleground - the museum and library are VERY public and watched, after all, full of cameras and night watch and the like.

And yeah, try to find a steel cable or something at least somewhat similar, to strangle it with.
>>
>>29080561
>>29080613
we should just bring our dragon dildo, we can choke it with that
>>
>>29080641

Everyone knows dragon dildos are not NEARLY flexible or durable enough for that.
>>
>>29080561
Well, other than the cable as mentioned, I don't know if we have any gear that would work really. Oh, but make sure to bring the phone so you can keep contact with Donna when needed.
>>

"Alright. Stay here, Donna. I'm going to go and try and deal with this." You say, getting up and heading to your closet to change. Donna turns her back and huffs. "Do you even have a plan?" She asks. "Kinda! Strangling works, so I'm going to stop on the way and get some steel cable." You explain, coming out of the closet in a pair of jeans, boots, a white t-shirt and a leather bomber jacket. "Try and be safe. Please." She asks, hugging you on your way out. "And check my car! I keep some cable in there incase I need to tow somebody!" She calls after you.

You collect the length of cable, a good ten feet of it, and take off. No one's around again. Strange. Every time you spread your wings, no one seems to be around. And when you do see someone, they solidly have their back to you. Maybe you should ask about that... You fly at high speeds towards Long Island, and the Old Westbury Gardens. They look unusually thick and heavy, empty of visitors. You land gently, the cable looped like rope in one hand.

You can hear the sound of wings nearby, to the west. To the north, you can hear singing.
>>
>>29081037
Ten feet? Hmmm...well I guess we need to be on its back to do strangling effectively anyway.

Anyway, get somewhere high and try to see what's making those noises.

You take wing, gaining air to try and get a better view of everything that's going on in the gardens. You just barely catch sight of a winged figure drop into the gardens to the west. Something inside feels warm seeing it. To the north, you see a small clearing with a statue. Further than that, you can see what looks like a cave, but it's very rough, and the ground is broken all around. To the east you can see what looks looks like a... chariot? A red chariot pulled by some large animals.

You head down and past the statue, noting it to be a man with an empty space under it's arms. Continuing on, the singing gets slightly louder, and you circle over the cave. Just in the mouth is a young woman, blond, bronze skin, shaded eyes, garbed in a white... tunic? Tunic. She sits just inside, singing. She stops as you descend and land nearby. "Oh! Oh hello! I'm sorry, I seem to have fallen..." She indicates her leg, which she seems to be favoring. "Can you help me? Please?"

You approach, carefully, slowly. "I'm sorry I can't get too close, it's dangerous, you know?" You apologize, keeping just a bit of distance. "Who are you? What Pantheon are you with?" She smiles slightly, looking up with bright gold eyes.

"I am Cleonae, and I'm Greek." She explains. You hesitantly move a bit closer, looking into the cave, then back to her, focusing on her leg.

And then a rope goes over your head and around your upper body, tightening like a lasso and jerking you back. You're torn- You're tied up, yes, but you also just avoided the woman, Cleonae, leap at you, body bulging and growing into the form of an enormous golden lion. "Force it back!" You hear from behind you, as you disentangle yourself. A woman with short, dark brown hair comes up around your side, wearing a black business suit and wielding a large, round shield and a longspear. "Are you stupid? Did you not even Google the damn thing? It's on Wikip- Bia?" A woman helps you up. Tall, and in good shape, she's long long, light brown hair, and- yep. Enormous golden wings on her back.

"Nike?" The name rolls off your tongue with ease. You can see her- your sister and comrade, friend, ally. She looks good, wearing a grey-striped suit, with a round shield on one arm, a sword sheathed on her hip, and a lasso in the hand she's helping you up with.

A roar draws your attention to the fight. No time for talking.

You grin widely at Nike. "It's great to see you." You admit. "We'll talk soon! Keep it's attention!" You order, sprouting wings and circling. She's already moving, dropping her lasso and drawing her sword and dodging a swing from the massive claws of the lion. Her grey eyed companion forces it back with several stabs from her spear, none of them piercing its golden hide, but still seeming to agitate it. It rears up, then comes down, forcing them both to move back as you move higher up, swinging the cable in one hand.

"Nina! She's going for it, keep its attention!" The spear wielder shouts. "Got it, miss Pallas! Here kitty, kitty, kitty!" Nike responded, hammering her shield with her sword and drawing it's attention. The Lion swung again with its claws, forcing her back, even as the other woman, Pallas, darted in and jabbed at it's face with her spear, forcing it to rear back.

There's your chance! You swing the cable as you descend, the tow hook on the end serving as a weight to circle it's neck and come back around. You land, planting your feet on its back as you catch the hook. You spot Nike breaking off and going for her lasso again, Pallas is moving backwards as the Nemean Lion thrashes and bucks underneath you. Shit, it's trying to roll!

You beat your wings a hard as your can and draw back on the cable, jerking and twisting. Damnit, it's strong! The beast is easily the size of a full grown elephant, and has the strength to show for it, fighting you and thrashing. A rope, lasso, is thrown from the side and goes around a front leg, and Nike pulls hard. The leg goes out from under it and the beast is momentarily lifted off its feet from your combined strengths, but it lands back on three feet and swings its paw.

"Shit!" You hear Nike yelp as she hits the ground. You stopped it rolling, but only your powerfully flapping wings and your inhuman strength keep you from being tossed. "Bad kitty!" Your sister bellows, taking to the air and then coming down hard, bashing it over the head with her shield. It's dazed, and you pull back with renewed vigor. It helps that the rope on its legs is being pulled on again, by the Pallas woman this time, and Nike is hammering it in the face with her shield.

"Bad kitty!" You growl, foot planted on its spine, pulling as hard as you can.

"Gotta put this one down!" Nike agrees, ducking in and swinging up with her shield, pegging it in the throat. It gives a few more weak thrashes, unable to swing with its leg held by Nike's partner, before going still, save for weak twitches. "Hah! We're awesome." Nike cheers, pumping her shield arm in the air. You release the cable after a few more moments, pulling one end to pull it out from under it. "Who's the best?" Nike asks, holding up her fist. You can't help but grin as you knock your own fist against hers.

"We are." You respond, grabbing her up in a hug she happily returns. "It's great to see you! Again? I think? We've never met, technically." She says, releasing you and holding out a hand to shake. "Nina Monroe. You already know who I'm reincarnated from." She says, and you shake her hand. "This is miss Pallas. She's the reincarnated Athena." She explains, motioning to the woman, who's currently sitting on the ground. She waves.

"Bianca Machiti." You say, letting your wings sink into your back as hers do the same. One final flap causes the Nemean Lion to start dissolving, and your whole body aches as Nike winces. You break the handshake and look towards the corpse, which has been replaced with a golden leather longcoat, the wrists and collar trimmed with a lighter colored fur. One coat. Not three.

>How you wanna deal with three party members, but only one impenetrable coat? And what say?

Alright, got a few options here. The first is trying to make off with it, not a good idea as even if it works it earns us MORE enemies, and it could easily fail. Second, offer it for them to decide over, in return for a more formalized alliance (and hoping they'd feel bad about fucking us over without paying it back). Third, some kind of Rock/Paper/Scissors or similar contest to decide a winner fair and square.

Leaning towards letting them have it for now, any other thoughts?
>>
>>29094453

You stare, then look back at Nike. "Shoot for it?" You ask, raising one fist, she grins an does the same. "Athena, you in?" You look to her. She waves you off. "I've got a Throne, you can have this one." She explains. You'll have to ask about that later.

You square off with your sister. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

"To the victor goes the spoils! The crowd goes wild, aaah, aaah, aaah!" She bounces up and down, fists in the air as she spins, then skips past you to the coat. "Consolation prize!" She says, flipping the shield towards you after taking it off to put on the coat. You catch it, it's a wide, circular shield, bronze with a... silver? No, platinum band around the edge. You idly strap it to your arm, and it dissolves, turning into a bronze and platinum band on your middle finger. Nike puts on the coat and shakes it out, chin in the air. "I look good, right?" You can't help but grin. "You can have the next one." She promises, winking.

"So, what now?" You ask, fiddling with your new ring. Nike looks to Athena, who shrugs. "I'm taking the rest of the day off." She explains. "You wanna come have lunch with us? We can talk then." She says, spear turning into a pen, and shield into a ring.

"Yeah, sure." You say, drawing your phone. "Just let me call my friend... let her know everything's ok." You explain, stepping away. You make note of Athena fussing over Nike out of the corner of your eye. You have the greatest urge to tease her... The phone picks up.

"Bianca? Everything ok?" Donna asks. She sounds worried. "Yeah, everything's fine. My sister- er, a friend showed up and helped me out. We won. I'm going with her and her friend, they're both like me, and we're going to talk." You explain. "Oh thank god. I was having a heart attack here! Call me back when you get done, ok?" She begs. "Yeah, I will. Bye." You hang up once she says goodbye.

"So... what's with the fancy duds? And really, what are those, Duckie Brown?" You tease, and she huffs, nose in the air, as she shakes out her coat again. "I like my shoes. They're comfy. And expensive." She grins. "Atla got them for me." She indicates Athena.

"And the suit too." Athena notes. "Aaand the suit too. And the shield and the sword. Thrones, that's the big twelve from Olympus, they get all sorts of perks. Atla actually owns a business here in the city, it does pretty well. Old money family too." She says, grinning widely. You slowly raise an eyebrow.

"Sooo. She buys you a suit, shoes, gets you fancy magic gear, fusses over you..." You slowly break into a grin.

"One sugar momma joke. Just one. That's all it takes." Nike wags a finger at you as Athena goes on ahead, heading towards a luxury car parked outside the gardens.

You keep grinning, strolling along, hands in your pocket. "Sooo." Her sigh is long and drawn out. "Where would I look to find a rich and powerful woman to be my suuugar mooomma?" You tease. Shhhiiit. She punches hard. You laugh and grab her in a headlock while she jabs you in the sides repeatedly. The two of you horse around while Athena sits, crosslegged, next to her car and works on a crossword puzzle. It feels good to be around your sister, even though you've never met her before. You feel like you've known her you entire life, and it feels like a return to normal, teasing her and fighting with her.

Eventually, you climb into the car, laughing as you try and fix your hair. Nike pushes you over as she climbs in behind you, and you elbow her with a grin. Athena sits in the driver's seat, looking in the mirror. "Going to be done any time soon, children?" She asks, reclining in her seat. Nike quickly releases your jacket and drops her fist, and you let go of her hair and coat. The both of you smile brilliantly and innocently. "God help me." The grey eyed woman grumbles, buckling in and driving off.

>And I think that's it for the day. Sorry to cut it so short, but I need to try and prepare stuff for the Q&A with Nike and Athena. I'll run again tomorrow at 12:00 4chan time. And I'm looking at the clock now and I've only been running for most of two hours today and am terribly embarrassed about that. Tomorrow will be a full length session, I promise!
