Aaaand we are back! it was almost, ALMOST a long year hiatus, but we are back now!

IIRC, last we saw Aura beat Paladin on the ring by using her powers of LEWD, and we were getting ready to go to Japan for the "Big In Japan" event. I feel it would be fair to at least finish such event before continuing, so let's start with that and wait for you guys to show up.

Also, we are expanding Ned's portfolio to dip into the world of music, and having him put together and manage a band. He certainly has the resources by now, and it feels like a natural extension of his abilities. Would it be "the XWF show opener" or would it be it's own thing? I will go posting the stats of candidates as we go on the thread. We can assume it's Ned checking their resumes while doing business in Japan, comment on them as we go, and pick some at the end.

Shit dude, I thought you were dead for a while. So sorry to hear about the accident by the way.

And really, I don't think you'll find many participants at this time of night, especially on new year's day. Maybe a more extensive recap might be in order to keep the thread up and going until some of the past regulars find this thread. Hell, I can't stay around to participate only because I'm drunk as hell and about to pass out for a few hours.

Welcome back, bud.

The XWF's private jet arrives at the Narita International Airport (aka Tokyo Narita Airport) carrying you and your fighters for the Big On Japan event that will take place within a week.

The airport, and the area around it, are already swamped with fans, despite the company's attempt to keep your exact hour of arrival secret.

They simply camped the airport since two days ago, waiting for their heros to arrive.

Brass: "Well, they do look like they enjoy a good fight"

Brass is wearing a business suit, which with his herculean build somehow only makes him look all the fiercer. His clean-but white clothes and the bright design on his red and gold tie seem to glow as the bright sunlight bounces off his vast surface. His long hair is tied back into a scrupulous ponytail, and you could swear the jet shifts sligthly upwards when he moves to the descending steps.

That's fine. A recap in the form of story time seems fine, I think. Will post the stats of the band candidates, as well.
Which type of band should it be? metal, pop, hell... a girl's band?

*******
These are the sheets for the band candidates. Remember that the score is lower the closer it is to the middle, and higher the further it is towards the outside of it.
Red is human
Orange is already superhuman, but on the "low end" of such
Yellow is "average super human" if there is such a thing
Light green is "super super human"
Dark green is "god-like"

Aleksander is a fantastic bass player, thus his very high technique score, bordering on "super super human", but he can only play the bass, which is why he has an "average human's" flexibility score.
Likewise, he knows he is a gifted man, but he also knows that both his musical flexibility and super powers are firmly planted on the "low end" of the spectrum, as far as homo sapiens novus go, thus is ego is that of an average human.
He has a nova's typically superhuman good looks, but while he could easily woo and impress any normal human being, he is not THE hottest nova around.
His showmanship, however, is very high. He may be a one trick pony, but it is quite a trick, and he has been rated extremely high by critics worldwide, people who are used (by now) to the amazing talent the novas display. His powers revolve specifically about turning sound into light, which for a musician as gifted as he is, translates into a truly awesome show. He can literally show a story solely through wordless bass playing, having the sound turn to light and helping convey the mood. Thus, his showmanship score is quite high.
His creativity score speaks for itself. He writes his own songs, and it is rumoured that dozens of the best rated human artists on the planet ask him to ghost-write for them as well. He is also a succesful, published novelist (of sci fi).

Your company wants him in the band, any band you decide to put together, if for nothing else but his famous work ethic. The man constantly and relentlessly releases new books and records at inhuman speed, all of which are always sound commercial successes (but none of which have ever been best sellers, or platinum records yet)

His powers, as mentioned before, can do one thing only. Turn sound to light.

Samuel (Python) is annoying Ami by insisting in carrying her luggage.

Samuel: "Yes, I know you are stronger than I am. How is that relevant. My mother is watching this, or going to watch it. Do you know the scolding she will give me if she sees a girl carrying her own luggage while I have a hand free next to her? She'll give me a speec about proper manners that will rot my ears out"

Samuel is dressed in a sports suit with a open neck, and his eufiber wrestling suit can be spotted under it, just barely. His own baggage is just the one large sports bag, and he is also carrying Ami's (a smaller bag) with his other hand.

Samuel (Python): "Ned, what are we going to do about the fans? is it alright if we do some signing and take some photos with them before going to the hotel or wherever?"

Ned: "If you want to, sure. They have been waiting for you for a few days already. What about the rest of you?"

Ami, Aura, Brass and Eldric (Paladin) seem fine with that, tho you are not quite sure on letting Aura interact with such a large crowd of people, given her nature and the nature of her powers.

Still, is not as if the fans could hurt any of them with anything short of a tomahawk missile, so you decide not to ask for any bodyguards and trust in them to keep things under control.

Indeed, Rob (Brass) gets the fans attention easily enough, just by rising his arms, and communicates with gestures to get them to stand in line (it ends up being a mile-long spiral) so they can get an autograph and a photo with the lot of them.

Oh, if you can, post comments from time to time to keep the thread from auto saging, please

Aritsu if your private executive assistant (calling her a secretary would be a injustice with all that she does), but as it turns out, she is also a gifted musician. She hasn't actually applied for your new project, but you know her, you trust her, and she would be a great asset for any project you convince her to work with you on.

Her sister is similarly gifted, if frail, and you know that if you give her a chance to work and take care of her at the same time, you would have a much better chance of convincing her to say yes.

Aritsu can play any instrument, sing, dance, help you close multi-million contracts and prepare the best coffee in the western hemisphere, which gives her a very, very high flexibility score.

Eldric (Paladin) recently managed to get his contract moved to your portfolio. Half of you thinks it's simply because of his puppy-love for Ami, and the other half has to admit it was a shrewd business move, since you do give your fighters a very bright stage to stand on, and he will doubtlessly be a bright figure and good addition to your team.

He is wearing a set of fine street clothes, as befits his image as an "all american" kid, with dark shades that he immediately removes and store away as he approaches the fans, in order to give them the benefit of his full face as he smiles to them. That young man truly knows how to work a crowd.

Ami is, as usual, combining the eufiber wrestling suit (she calls it her work uniform) she is so proud of with her every day clothes. Jeans on top let the high-cut eufiber suit show the sides of her hips and a few inches upwards, while she also wears a similar jacket with its sleeves rolled up. The result is quite charming, giving the redhead a "naturally sporty" look which you know to be 100% genuine and unintentional, making her look somewhat adorable despite her superhuman good looks.

You have about a hundred offers from pretty much every single japanese sport magazine, all of which want her and Aura to do a gravure photoshoot together for them. You are still chewing on which one(s?) to accept, and on how to sell the idea to her.
>>
>>29209233
I don't think I'll be able to bump the thread in the next few hours bud, I feel like I'm about to pass out.

I do have an idea for the band though.Make it a mystery band, who conceal their identities from the public. Have them play at suitable moments during high profile matches (or outside of wrestling venues, if you prefer). Have them show up "unannounced" to high profile concerts and "duel" with scheduled bands. If done right, then there would be some decent publicity going on for both bands involved, and would serve to build up the mystique behind our band. I don't have any qualms about the genre they would play in, but it should be suitable enough for the venues they will be playing at.

You may have noticed I'm sort of continuing the sheets on one side and the story on the other, by now. That's on purpose so you can easily follow the sheets and the story each on their own later. I hope it makes it easier, anyway.

That Aura was a well rounded entertainer was... NOT a surprise, really. Not at all.

She is an extremely good and sensual dancer (you are sort of worried about that, really), a gifted singer, and one of the most showy and spectacular fighters in your stable, as well as the one the most willing to do fan service of pretty much any kind. You know her powers to manipulate emotions, even through recorded media, would make her a powerful asset for any group you put together.

Her ego and sense of worth is as high as humanly possible, but with all her gifts, perhaps it is a miracle that it is not any higher.

hah, somehow reminds me of the Blues Brothers, playing pretty much anything they're called to play.

Not sure if you can convince a group of demigods with egos to match to stay anonymous, tho.

Asmund is a very handsome and skillful young man with blond hair and a perfectly athletic build you know you could "sell" in any venue with ease.

His powers do one thing only, which let him do pretty much anything. He can copy other people's powers AND abilities, which, together with his natural, superhuman gifts, allow him to do pretty much anything with superb skill.
>>
>>29209339
Aura is wearing a mini skirt and a light white shirt, which gives her a ... surprisingly professional, undeniably hot "hot librarian" vibe. On flawless high heels and with her gold blonde hair shining freely on the wind, she looks like she's ready for her pictures to adorn the room of every japanese teenager by tomorrow at this time.

Aura: "Ah... I can't understand mister Wolfside's eagerness to spend the next half of the day signing autographs, but it will be great publicity all the same, wouldn't you say?"

You can feel yourself react. Even in the open, her pheromone-based powers (which she can't fully turn off) give you a powerful blast. Somehow, it wasn't quite this bad on the plane.

Your fighters line up side by side to sign autographs and have their pictures taken with and by the fans for the next four or five hours. With their super human endurance, you know this is much, much harder on the fans than on them, but you still do your super agent magic and manage to get them chairs and a long table (bought quickly on a nearby shop and somehow carried unto the landing pad) for them to sign the autographs in.

They seem to have infinite patience and good will, aggreeing to almost every request, and posing with the fans however they want for their pictures.

Of course, the most requested is to have Brass hold them up as if he was about to throw them, have a boxing stand against Python (he seems to be doubly popular over here. Apparently the fans really enjoy his boxing).

Eldric (Paladin) is a favorite with the male and female fans alike, and, of course, the fans beg to having the girls flank/sandwich them to have their picture taken.

Ami blushes the whole time, while Aura seems to be having fun, but that pretty much resumes their attitudes about nearly everything, anyway.

Bella is probably the best drummer in her generation, and since hers is the generation of Homo Sapiens Novus, that means she is good. REALLY good.

With good looks to match and a powerful work ethic, the only problem is her reputation for taking clothes off during events, down to her birthday suit.

Her previous manager sold her as a "naturist" and her shows as a "primal return to the wilderness as the beat of an amazon's drums". Her talent and charisma are undeniable, tho, and somehow the whole thing has a unmistakeable air of authenticity and solemn, almost religious love for nature that the critics rate her as a true, gifted, if capricious artist.
>>
>>29209623
As a superior (a human enhanced into superhuman but not quite a god), you stand by your friends and co-workers through the whole thing. A professional figure in a fine suit, standing right behind them and making sure security removes anyone you deem as problematic before they hit the signing table.

Serious, quiet and professional, you are somewhat surprised when most of the fans seem to recognize you, a few ask for your autograph, and some want to have their pictures taken with you as well as your fighters.

This impromptu signing event lasts for seven hours, and by the time it is over, Ami wants to go to the hotel and then sightseeing, Aura wants to go partying, Brass and Miguel want to drop their baggage on the hotel, then seeing the ring, and Eldric wants to make sure he has time enough to go sightseeing with Ami, with the excuse to get souvenirs for everyone back home.

Ned: "Let's get checked into the hotel first. Once everyone has their room keys, we can split and meet tomorrow at 9 sharp to go over any last minute changes to our planned agendas, alright?"

Euphrosyne Zaytseva pretty much IS the russian rock and roll media right now. Rock and roll became known in the Soviet Union in the 1960s and quickly broke free from its western roots. According to many music critics, its "golden age" years were the 1980s (especially the era of perestroika), when the Soviet underground rock bands could release their records officially.

A new golden age is now. After decades of figthing the KGB just to rock, the russian bands have grown into a heavily anti-government institution, and Euphrosyne seems to be perfectly comfortable being the bad girl of modern russia. Rock must be loud, it has to be heavy, it must offend sensibilities, and shame rulers and polititians.

The people loves her. She may not be the most gifted of your candidates, but if you want access to the millions-wide russian market, she is your ticket into it.
>>
>>29209775
Security at the hotel is a mixed bag. Your superhuman fighters are perfectly able to take care of themselves, and Brass wouldnt wake up even if the whole hotel collapsed during a earthquake, merely noticing the rubble in the morning and shaking it off. Rather than protection, you make sure security is about privacy, specially around the girl's rooms.

Ned: "Ami, you have japanese nationality, right?"
Ami: "Yes, and french, and american, as well. I grew up here, you know that. Well, not HERE. In a city a bit to the north of here. Do you need anything?"

Ned: "Well, I was just a bit worried anyone could get lost when they go out since, you know, completely different language, hard to remember addresses and such, but it probably means at least you I can trust to know your way around"

Ami: "Sure, I'll be fine, and you can count on me for anything you need" -she offers in her usual, naturally honest and cheerful way.

Ned: "Could you accompany Eldric as he goes around? he mentioned wanting to. I suspect that if Aura got lost, I would be more worried about the japanese night clubs than about her, and both Brass and Miguel want to just eat something and chill for today."

Ami: "You can count on me"

You can see Eldric shed a tiny tear of gratitude and give you an "I love you man. No gay" look as he leaves with Ami, leaving you alone with the big boys for the rest of the evening.

You sit at the table with Rob (Brass) and Miguel (Python) to discuss arrangements for the fights, as well as publicity and japanese companies endorsements.

Your two most solid "products", you know them to be reliable, professional and serious. They are trustworthy, and trust you to do the best you can for them, a feeling you have always been happy to honor, working hard to find them the best possible deals.

In this case, plenty of companies want to work with them, endorse them, and have them sell their products. Neither one of them speak japanese, tho, but you can easily arrange for translators, either an individual or a pricey gadget, if need be.

Rob (Brass): "So far I'm enjoying it a lot. I think our waiter is somewhat nervous, but other than a very quick look from the kitchen staff, everyone is keeping a very respectful distance. Very polite of them"

Samuel (Python): "Yeah, people seem really nice so far. Say, Ned, what do you have for us? I'm sure you must have a schedule full of interviews lined up?"

The meal is a show of their own. The staff keeps bringing and removing dishes at a regular basis. Your friends eat at a moderate but constant pace, as you know them to do.

The wine is excellent, and seems to come from some southamerican country. Miguel could tell you from the label, but you decide to learn a few more languages as soon as you can, all the same.

Ned: "Well, energy drinks -they nod, expecting as much-, sportswear -they nod again-. Toyota and Accura both want to have you promote their cars and bikes, as well.

Rob: "I'll pass on that. I'm sure they're fine cars, but you know I only do jeeps. Miguel?"

Miguel: "Accura would be fine... I honestly never heard of them before, but Toyota has a bit of a joke reputation on my neighborhood, and my family would tease me about it for years if they saw me in one of their adds."

Ned: "It would only be for the japanese market, however"

"If it is too good to be true, it usually isin't"
This line of thought is -normally- right. Except in the case of very gifted, very rare cases where talent seems to have had a tasteful threesome with looks and personality to somehow bear a perfect child as the end result of such debauchery.

These people tend to go one of two ways. They either go into stardom, struggle and suffer to convince the audience that they are "the real deal", or simply pass to lead perfectly normal lives.
Rick Astley was a young man gifted with a voice that was vastly considered "impossible for that scrawny, skinny white boy", and had to fight against this impression through most of his career. Even now, he is still -often- used a joke reference.

Lyann Portêleger is another such individual. It seems that no matter the (non violent) activity she decides to enter, she exceels at it.

A greek goddess of beauty "of perfect height and build" as anyone easily describes her, she exceels at any and all arts. And given her ability to make complete, permanent, and perfect copies of herself which she can later absorb back unto herself, she does so at the same time.

"If it is too good to be true, it usually isin't"

This phrase is the bane of her existence. Almost every critic calls her a fake. None of her works has ever sold. Listening to her music or song gives the listener a strange, alien feeling.

Flawless. Too good to be true. She has bounced from genre to genre, from band to band. She has tried going "solo", she has tried making a band with her own clones. Nothing seems to work for her.

She is, however, a former university classmate of your executive assistant (she will always swear it was really her and not one of her clones), and that is how her resume ended up in the folder of your candidates.

A pariah, "untouchable" by every studio on the planet.

4 successes on the sportswear deal. Remember that 3 successes is "the edge of human achievement" before you get dissapointed. Mako was the prodigy of traditional, chinese opera. Her quantum power alters reality based on her singing. She sings about dragons and there will be dragons.

Despite how amazing her power sounds at first, it is actually completely useless in combat since she needs to sing for at least 3 minutes (30 rounds of combat) for it to work.

After her power manifested, she was quickly banned from singing in China.

A "traditional, perfect oriental beauty", she is a petite girl with a womanly figure, sweet and caring personality, and utterly dark (seemingly light-absorbent) long, long black hair and blue eyes.

She can do one thing and one thing only, sing (normally opera), but is willing to learn any style you want her to if it will allow her to support the orphanage she grew up on.

7 successes (got a 7 on the explodey dice) on the gravure shots.

Embarrased but beautiful, and sensually confident. These become THE only two styles acceptable for gravure idols to follow.

From calendars to mugs and keychains. Ami's pictures seem to appeal to the public in a "natural and cute" manner, and it becomes socially acceptable for the serious businessman to have a little swimsuit Ami keychain hanging off his pocket, while media heroines who want to use sex appeal in any japanese media will be measure against the harsh stick that is Aura for years to come.

6 successes on bikes. got a 10 on explodey, which exploded into a 8.

The new Toyota and Accura bike models explode on the eastern market. A new generation of female car enthusiasts is born, simply by looking at Ami's tv ads. Dozens of ace drivers will emerge in the future from Japan, going out to dominate a field which was formerly almost exclusively a boy's club.

Aura's bike adds, however, seem to equate riding a bike to riding a impossibly hot girl, and wealthy male youngsters switch over from cars to bikes. Anyone still driving a car by the end of the trimester is considered a prude.

You scorted each girl to their photoshots, of course, to make sure they were tasteful and respected each girl's limits.

Placing a towel on Ami's shoulders and handing her a cold drink, you welcome her back and congratulate her on a job well done before sending her off to get washed and dressed, then head over to chat with the photographers and make sure they will send to your desk any pictures so Aritsu can okay them before they go into use. Same with Aura's.

About an hour later, as you ride the limousine with Ami and Aura back to the hotel.

Ned: "Are you girls alright?"

Ami: "It was scary, but fun"

Aura: "You are a professional entertainer, I honestly don't understand HOW can you get embarrased just because you get your picture taken. If mister Salter hadn't been with us, I would have made you get some decent fan service shots taken."

Ned: "which is why I was there, really."

Ami: "Is not the same! I'm on the ring, I'm an athlete, not a model!"

Aura: "You could be both"

Ami: "I like being an athlete"

Aura sighs and adjusts her posture sligthly, casually crossing her legs and leaning sidewise. The gesture is completely casual, yet you need to lower the windows to lower your body temperature a little.

Ned: "I think it is fine as long as you are both happy with your work. Now we have a meal with your japanese counterparts so you all get to meet eachother before the fights, discuss any arrangements you want and the likes."

Ami: "I just want a fair fight."

Ned: "You know you have to sell the first few minutes, at the very least. We've talked about it"

Ami: "´kay" -she says softly, almost like an admonished child

Aura: "Aww... aen't you the cutest thing!?"

Aura glomps the pretty redhead, giving you a sligthly too much of a show as she just teases the girl so she blushes brighter and brighter for a couple of minutes before Ami finally pushes her off firmly enough to give a clear message.

Well, I'm going to at least finish posting the sheets for the band candidates. Any ideas on what do you want the band for?

Rock, pop, jazz, dance/sing, metal, classic, other?

Also, is not that I want to go, is just that I remember this being about the time we finished in the past because at this hour you and the rest of the guys tended to start dissapearing. Can you stay for a while longer or do you have to go soon?

Ralf Bach is a "complete entertainer" in the classical sense. An actor, dancer, singer and musician, he has always been critically acclaimed on every task he's tried. His performaces have been quoted as having "a vibrant human feeling" and "honesty" to them.

He has constantly beaten Lyann in pretty much every festival, show, and endeavor she has tried to break into, tho if asked about it, he will simply say it is a "friendly rivalry"

Sinow is Aritsu's (your executive assistant) younger twin.

She has a slight condition, causing her to mentally develop at a slower pace than normal. Currently, she has the body of an extremely attractive young woman, but the mind of a brilliand and innocent child. She is not "stuck" at that mental age, however. Simply developing slowly.

Doctors think this may be natural and soon to be noticed in more and more novas with "near endless" life spans.

Her projected life expentancy is around a thousand years or more.

She is a genial singer and dancer, and with her sister to teach her, she actually seems eager to learn any craft or art her "big sister" seems interested in, up to and including the violin and other traditionally considered "difficult" instruments

Her "ego" is rated high not because she is self centered of selfish, but because of her condition. If you get her into the band, Aritsu would love the chance to spend more time watching over her twin sister. She pampers her a lot

Stella is an indian beauty rated as a super star in the millions-wide market of her nation. A caramel skinned beauty with sensual feminine curves, she is nonetheless a strong girl who will film already legendary natural films such as "My life as a tiger" where she ran with a large tiger through the indian jungler for a year, achieving images never before seen of the splendour of her nation's jungles, spear-heading a movement to safeguard and restore them to primal beauty.

She is a rock singer in her own band (Shere Khan Daugthers) with "animal intensity" which seems to tug at the pack instincts of those around her to recognize her as their "alpha female".
>>
>>29211061
Heh. I wonder

Actually right now im not sure wether he would be Lyann's "villain" or have a honest infatuation with her. Maybe both things?
>>
>>29211159
Heh, maybe both. I figure we have Lyann's "character" be technical perfection while all of her bandmates humanize her. I take it she has an aberration that makes her creepy to humans?
>>
Ah, those are all the candidates. It is worth pointing out that Ami's "art", wits and mega wits have always been 5 on each, so she would roll a whooping 10d10 normal dice + 5d10 mega dice if we managed to get her into this side project, for things like song-writing and choreography, and 10d10 with a specialty on singing if we get her behind a mic.

I didint made her a musician's sheet because I honestly think we know her more than well enough.

Also, damn, its really hard to figure out the captcha with my eyesight being the wreck it now is, or did it got harder as of late?
>>
>>29211197
Note she would ALSO roll 10d10 + 5megadice if we ever got her behind a camera for stuff like photoshoots and such. Mai pointed it out once but it seems to have gone unnoticed

>>29211181
Yes, she "feels too perfect" to normal humans. She's actually pretty nice, but comes out as "intimidating" to them without even trying.

I get the feeling you already decided you want her in the band, tho?

We haven't even decided what musical style (IF we are doing just one) we are going to go for, yet.

If we do Metal, I'm reminded of Metalocalypse and Dethlok's ridiculous influence and success. Plus that time when they woke up a legendary monster and it ravaged a country, just by singing that it should wake up

http://youtu.be/BubiZAIWHgU

We need to be careful with lyrics if we get Mako into the group.
>>
>>29211197
They've gotten a bit harder, but not that much. Sorry to hear about your eyes.
>>
>>29211254
We could always teach her that martial art that helps deal with aberrations.
>>
>>29211287
She'd become a much more successful singer by learning Nova marital arts? That's... hilarious really.
>>
>>29211287
That sounds good. Will need to find the Guru first, tho.

>>29211295
Somehow I'm reminded of exalted and their "Duck reality rearranging punch" where they punch you and the universe so it rearranges itself so you were always just a duck.

Anyway, what did you think of the candidates? so far it seems you wanted Lyann/Aura, Mako/Aleksander as the core of it?
>>
>>29211313
Yeah. Sinow should probably be given an interview as well though I'm not sure how to fit her in.
>>
>>29211347

Aura is an absolutely fantastic dancer, but I dont know if we can use that somehow. She is also a great singer, tho we probably want her in the band more thanks to her emotion manipulation than anything else, I guess?

Aleksander is a godly bass player but couldn't sing for food.

Mako is a elder-god tier singer, but has never tried anything else. She is willing to try anything, tho.

Lyann can be fantastical anywhere we place her on the band. We can even place her -mutiple times- in the band.

So we have
Singer/??? - Aura
Bass player - Aleksander
Singer/??? - Mako
??? - Lyann

What do we need? bass, 1-2 guitars, drums, singers and what else?
>>
>>29211472
You know, if we got Python and taught him to play the guitar, he would easily be the fastest guitar player EVER.

Also, there has to be some advantages to having a four-armed drummer but somehow I just cannot even imagine him playing a instrument.

And Brass would tease him about hitting a middle age crisis if we put him on a band "full of children"
>>
>>29211472
Not sure honestly. I don't exactly know much about music.
>>
>>29211472
I think we've got a solid core there, maybe add in Sinoe as a Drummer or something. Most of the others seem to be in very different genres and already have reputations to match. Krysti seems like more trouble than he's worth really.
>>
>>29211531
Arguably, neither does any real producer, anyway.
*DABATUM DUSH!*

Well, I guess if noone objects, we could go with a rock, possibly metal, maybe symphonic metal band?
So we need, at the very least
Drummer
Bass
Guitar(s)
Singers

From wikipedia, the information whore of the internet

"Metal instrumentation commonly consists of one or two distorted electric guitar, electric bass, drum kit, and vocals. With some more fantasy based bands keyboards and synthesizers have become very common. Also, many symphonic bands use an entire orchestra for many songs or even entire albums."

So
Guitar One - ???
Guitar Two - ???
Bass - Aleksander
Drums - ???
Singer - Aura & Mako

So far that seems good?
>>
>>29211472
I'm tempted to take Bella as the drummer IF we can find a work around to let her play in socially acceptable attire. Strategic body paint or a micro uniform secured by adhesives maybe? Dunno, but it's pretty acceptable for the drummer to strip down since they generate so much body heat.
>>
>>29211643
>>29211624
Guitar One- Lyann
Guitar Two- Sinoe
Drums - Lyann clone, or Bella
>>
What about Euphry?
>>29209847

We still need a drummer
>>29209702
And I forgot to mention Stella also plays drums
>>29211153

Matt can play the keyboard if we want to have one
>>29210892

Anyway, maybe we should interview them before deciding? We can do that later, after the Big In Japan event is over and our fighters are taking some vacations, leaving us free to move around and travel around talking to the candidates
>>
>>29211688
interviews sound good to me.
>>
>>29211643
That sounds fine, actually. I wanted to showcase both Bella and Stella as "wild" types for the drummer slot. Of course, we can fill that slot with Lyann (we can technically fill any slot with Lyann) if we want a rock solid rythm instead of a wild one. Some say that solid timekeeping and technique on a drummer is the very spine of a band.

Do you want a wild sound, or a steady one?

Also, eufiber suits are already pretty much body paint anyway. Bella has never had one, and they supossed to be ridiculously comfortable so that may work out fine in the end.
>>
>>29211720
Alright, I'll archive the thread at this point. I'll go eat something, play some Tera (online, not the aberrant faction), and generally enjoy the holiday.

If you guys didin't had it before, my yahoo messenger is maglad_triunfant and my mail is on the field, in case you want to keep chatting about anything.

Just to resume
Singers
*Mako
*Aura
Bass
*Aleksander
Guitar
*???
Drums
*Bella, Stella or Lyann

If we want to have a full orchesta, Lyann can do that too. Easily

See you tomorrow, guys. Glad to be back
>>
>>29211688
Interviews are a must!

Liking Bella for drums, though we're going to need to address the obvious issue.

Euphry brings a LOT of benefit, but she also immediately raises the bar for expectations on the band. I think I'd like to work with her, but not on this project.

Stella sounds intriguing as well. Hmmm

Grab an interview with Matt for a keyboard position.

Also, remember that it's useful to have versatile musicians since we can swap them out for certain numbers. For example letting Stella (and I admit I'm already partial to Bella) sing a number or two while Lyann takes over the drums. Having Matt grab a guitar for a bit to free up someone else for a number...redundancy isn't necessarily bad is all I'm saying.
>>
I'm still here, btw. Just archived the thread so we can keep talking but anything we decide has to be mentioned at the beginning of tomorrow's thread

>need to address the obvious issue
I see what you did there

>Euphry
True, all of that. On the plus side, she IS a rock musician so she can kick us (not just slap) us on the back of the head if we stray too far off a "proper" rock/metal sound. Also, russian rock is very lyrics.heavy, just mentioning that

>Stella
I actually like her a lot

>Matt
Would be the coolest head on the band, somehow.

That sounds like a pretty good idea, actually.

As for Aura as singer, this comes to mind. It just seems "Aura-like" to me on a number of fronts, you know?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFi4YunHFNQ

Apparently can't embed the video. Hell, the share option is disabled on youtube. Just look up "Lacuna Coil - Swamped"

The girl singer just seems to ooze "Aura" to me
>>
>>29211883
I'm thinking, and maybe now's not the time to do it in game since we're just breaking into the music industry, of doing a second project with Euphry.

Pair her with Bella so we simultaneously have the themes of desecration and consecration coursing through their music, and add a Lyann clone for a note of purity and to give Euphry a constructive social activist comrad. If they don't work as a power trio I'd be surprised, but if they need a second guitarist or someone to take the Bass from Lyann (so she can duel guitars with Euphry) I'd look at Alek. That combination of work ethic, low ego and one man light show would be perfect for this loud little side project.
>>
>>29211883
Also, after seeing that video Aura gets my full vote of confidence.
>>
>>29212097
That sounds pretty good
The main band, so to speak, would be a purely metal one, while the side project would be a more mythic "growth vs decay" theme.

I was thinking we should team Aura and Mako as singers to get Aura's naturally husky and seductive voice with Mako's crystal clear, pure sound to have them stand out from eachother, Would work even better with a really deep male voice, I think
>>
>>29212182

Sorry it took me so long to appear, this quest starts like 4-5am where I live, and I've spent the morning coughing my lungs up.

That said, I kinda want the Bass, the Russian, The Complete Entertainer, Opera Chick, and I guess the Nudist. The Clone chick is kinda tough, we'd have to work on breaking down her ego, and at the same time, trying to get her to fake imperfections in order to sound more 'real'. I wanted to have the theme of the band be about freedom, but this might lock us out of the chinese market. It might help if I knew or actually liked music, so I 'unno.

Now I've got to redownload the XWF books that I only deleted a couple of months ago, that and catch up on the previous threads, since I barely remember anything about the characters other than Bass, Python and Ami.
>>
>>29213105
I don't think we need to get Lyann to fake imperfections so much as teach her how to maximize her ability to communicate emotion through her music at the expense of her technical precision. Show her how to express apprehension by playing a note or two too quickly before correcting, how to hold a sorrowful cord that extra second beyond what anyone expect as it slowly trails off...and then kick back in with twice the power. It's about teaching her that music is all about the inflection, about how you play something and not just how well you technically play it.

I see your point I just think its easier to make the solution into a game/challenge for her rather than trying to get her to compromise her ability.
>>
>>29213323
Yeah, yeah, I see that, we should try to inject more 'emotion' and 'feeling' into her work, the problem is, she's descibed as impossibly perfect in *everything,* even her looks. I think the problem is that she's so perfect in everything she does, that she kind've falls into some kind of 'Uncanny Valley' and subconsiously freaks people out. People can't relate to something completely flawless, take a look at Ami, her shyness tomboyishness are actually make her more appealing.

A person's flaws can highlight their qualities, and someone without any is repelling, so we'd have to introduce some slight imperfections into everything in order to make her seem less artificial.

Maybe we could have her do a bit of light work in the lower bracket XWF fights.

Have her use her clones to outnumber her opponents, and win a couple matches through really skeezy means, only to have a bunch of people ally against her or something. Despite being able to make perfect copies of her self, she can't match the synergy of different people working together with different powers, and have them give her some kind of speech that 'One person, no matter how good, can't overcome many'. Dejected she decides to leave wrestling, humbled by her experience or something like that.

Honesltly, she's pretty much a deconstructed Mary Sue, and the only ways I know of how to fix that are to either A: Introduce some flaws and shortcomings B: Play it kinda tragically (although this can fail to win people over, as it might seem like they're complaining about nothing) or C: Make her into some kind of heel/buttmonkey, and shove her into an antagonist/comedic role.
>>
>>29213724
Fair enough. Actually, you might have a much more accurate read of the situation than I did...I want to wait for the interview before doing anymore analysis or game planning, but the wrestling angle sounds interesting. Just not sure how a non-violent social activist ends up in the XWF, but I'm sure we could put together a plausible story if she's willing to jump in the ring.

Ufff... it's a long story. (I was taking a nap right now, which is why I didint reply sooner, sorry) But to make it short, do not use yourself as a shield, not even to save a baby. Trucks and concrete are tougher than you are.

The end result was losing an eye and 95% of my eyesight on the other. Took me a while to get used to things.

Anyway
>>29213105

Pretty much everyone likes Aleksander, I think.

Ralf has a higher-than-human degree of skill in a lot of fields, and can play pretty much every instrument as well as sing.

Euphry, the russian, has a lot of experience into metal, just rememer russian metal is more about lyrics than instruments,

Mako will need to go through a culture shock in order to learn a completely new style, but everyone seems to agree that she's a voice/power combo they want on the band.

*Bella on drums will mark a very fast and powerful rythm. Her tendency to take her clothes off is actually a important flaw on her sheet, mechanics-wise. We can buy it off with experience (will cost 11 exp) tho, but it is also a trait which her critics associate with her authenticity. "She is too wild to bear with civilization for a whole concert."

Lyann... she is good at everything, yes she has always failed at everything. Her high ego is a mix of NEEDING to buff herself up to endure ther life, and her natural talent. I liked the idea of injecting more humanity into her.

When we interview her, we will find that she runs her life like a clock. Everything is planned to the last minute. Each minute of her day is booked several times over. Literally, since she CAN be in several places at the same time. We need to get her to relax, calm down, slow down, and smell the flowers. She may be "right" about the way she does things, but it doesn't means hers is the only way to be right.

For example, Mako (the opera girl) always, always makes time to play with the children at the orphanage. She makes cakes with them, has tea parties, etc.
>>
>>29214902
I think the problem, at its core, is that her property is pretty much a city state filled with an army of herself.
She never needs to talk to one of her clones. They all think alike, dont get into eachother's ways, automatically work together, etc.

She needs a little chaos in her otherwise orderly life, and I think Aura and Bella can give her more than enough of that.

Anyway, going to wait for more replies
>>
>>29214957
Oh, right.
Mechanically wise, her "problem" is actually cheaper, exp-wise, than Bella's. By the rules, anyway, it is considered a "medium-high" flaw, but applied to her specific case, as an artist, it turns out huge.

I feel that having her spend a couple of games spending time in the chaos that will come from the crossfire between Aura and Bella (And/Or Stella), with the bundle of happiness that is Mako thrown in for good measure, should be enough justification to let her use exp to buy her flaw off (a little. I think its a interesting trait, so would like to just tone it down instead of completely removing it)
>>
Holy fuck, it has to hurt the throat to change gears this fast
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jud_SnKTlY
>>
>>29214902
I think the reson everyone likes Alex is because of his suprisingly high versatility. His low ego and zero personal isssues, combined with his godly song writing skills make him an asset to any band, even if he can only play bass. He's pretty much like a Black Lotus, you can put him in any band, and see a marked improvement, even if it's just from his songwriting.

Euphry can crack open the Russian market and good at working the crowd, but her big anti-establishment leanings might turn off some people, so she's basically a mixed bag

Bella has the issue the whole issue with nudity, which could syndergy really well with Euphry, since anyone who would object to one, would likely object to the other. If we decide to take one, we might as well take the other, since the potential customer loss will be minimized.

Mako would need some work with culture shock and changing genre's, but she would be a powerful vocalist, as well as well as making a great 'face' as we could work the whole 'human interest story' angle.

Lyann's very good... But she'll also need the most work out of all of them, I would think, we'd have to be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort.

One of my key deciding factors was going after the preformes who didn't have large egos, I think it's easier to improve their skills rather than improving their personality. Lyann's revalation that a lot of her ego is a coping mechanism dampens it somewhat, but ego is the key reason why I pretty much skipped over Kirsti. As a manager, the attribute I'd prize the most is Work Ethic, and Ego would probably be the biggest detractor.
>>
>>29215653
Aww.. I personally liked Lyann a lot. I rolled their stats to begin with, going with
1-3 human
4-5 low super human
6-7 super human
8-9 powerhouse
10 godlike

And I went with 2d10 to get stuff like 5.7 and such, to make them sligthly more random and less static, then wrote their background out of their stats. Lyann was a "holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck" kind of thing, and it took me a couple of hours to come up with a interesting background for her, so I guess I'm invested into her.
>>
>>29214902
>Ufff... it's a long story. (I was taking a nap right now, which is why I didint reply sooner, sorry) But to make it short, do not use yourself as a shield, not even to save a baby. Trucks and concrete are tougher than you are.

>>
>>29215943
I'm not saying I don't like her, but let's face it, she's got to be a lot of work. If this was just 'Band Manager' Quest, I'd be okay with that, but we have to split our attentions between a Band a Stable. Unless we're like Bass, and get rest while conducting business. I think we might become overworked.

Can you repost Ned's stats, I kinda forgot what the hell his attributes are.

(Also someone misarchived, it should be thread 45, not 39.)
>>
>>29215943
Oh I like Lyann, and the fact that she's going to need the most intensive work up front was why I wanted her in supporting positions in two bands. Maximum exposure to controlled chaos and improvisation and, hopefully, divergent divergence by her clones ought to open her might and spark her imagination. But it looks like I might be the only one behind that plan so we'll see how it pans out.

No, I don't think the language families in abberant correspond to real life, which kinda peeves me off, not to mention I don't actually remember about the status of the nations in Abberrant.

Chinese and similar languages (Those numbers) and whatever language group English is in (extra bonus points if it includes Spanish and Portuguese)

English family is free, and Spanish and Portuguese count as different families. (Along with French.)
I want to include Japanese, since they're hueg wrestling fans, and I think Japan is an even bigger economic powerhouse in Abberant.

>>29217634
Probably chinese, spanish and one more, then, since those are the biggest markets. Maybe russian?

I havent actually checked the languages in a long while, myself, If it is groups rather than especific languages, then "romance languages" would grab italian, portuguese, french and spanish, tho. Going to check right now

Yeah, Spanish, Mandarin and Russian sound about right with Japanese and probably German near or at the top of the list to learn. Probably would add Portuguese, French, Italian, Korean, Hindi/Urdu, Cantonese and Farsi to that list. Also, I'm out of useful language ideas for Ned.
>>
>>29217761
>bigger economic powerhouse in Abberant
Yes, Japan completely embraced novas, in a somewhat funny "power rangers" sort of way, and made various very japanese-minded nova teams of superheroes (sentai? dont remember the word), as well as getting them to help with economy and politics, so Japan got a HUGE boost during the nova age.

Even when all the other countries of the world kicked out the novas, japan hid theirs and just said "yeah we totally kicked ours too". When the teras came back to destroy the earth, the japanese novas saved it, and they had been helping japan for centuries by then so it was a truly sci fi place while the rest of the earth was still running on technology from before the nova age

Yeah, I remember that, because I got into an argument with you over languages awhile ago, and you basically said "Dude, Japan is bigger in Abberant that real life" or something, which is why I voted for it.

Also kinda pissed that Romance Languages aren't an option, despite the fact all those crazy Chinese languages are all lumped together.
>>
>>29217942
Well, I dont mind just houseruling the "romance languages" together in one group. I speak spanish and its enough to understand italian and portuguese. So lets say "oriental" to include chinese, mandarin and corean, "romance" to have spanish, italian and portuguese, and take russian (which i dont think is part of any group) on its own?
>>
>>29218043
I would be in favor of taking this deal.
>>
>>29218043
Cool with me.
>>
Just checked. Korean and japanese are their own thing, tho, which actually seems alright to me.

Chinese has a lot of sub-languages inside it, so saying chinese includes mandarin, wu, ming, etc

Romance will include spanish, italian and portuguese.

So we could take chinese and romance as families, but that still leaves out japanese and russian. Would have to pick one or the other for the third dot. We can get more dots later, of course. Hell, IIRC a specialty is just 3 exp and from today only we got 5 exp anyway so we could get a 4th specialization right now to get both
>>
>>29218214
I vote Chinese, Japanese and Romance, then if we decide to take the 4th language, I'd vote for Slavic.

Is that a family? I have no problem admitting I dont know

Also found this wallpaper while looking for "Aberrant" on my folders. Heh, I always toyed with the idea of a band in aberrant. Just couldnt decide who the girl in the wallpaper would be.

By the way, what musical style are we going with? classical rock, metal, punk, what? Poc related would be punk, I guess.
>>
>>29218348
Techno? The kind of stuff you dance to at clubs, but with talented singers.
>>
>>29218291
You know what, mill just second this since I was in the middle of writing the same thing.
>>
>>29218348
It's just Russian combined with with a bunch of eastern european languages, like Ukranian, Polish, and Bulgarian.

Apparently they're all closely related.
>>
>>29218412
Uhmm... must be because I live in southamerica and over here they play that god-awful reggaeton on clubs, but I haven't had the privilege of hearing techno which was also sung. Could you post me a example? that sounds like kpop to me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHBfrbvM8ko

This is kpop
>>
>>29218618
something like this maybe?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cst7K_7jxYo
>>
>>29218618
Oh I found some looking "techno with lyrics" on youtube. Honestly, I always thought that was just pop
>>
>>29218744
Pop is not the most rigerously defined genre out there I think.
>>
>>29218348
Everyone know the best music is Dico/Swing/Baroque fusion!
>>
>>29218742
Hah, that sounds like it would be fun for that female wrestler who turns into literal titanium to sing.

And since its raising a middle fingers to critics, I guess it works for Lyann, too.

But yeah, I can see that style of music could do with good singers. Then again, we are gathering musicians from a variety of styles, and many of them write their own songs, so there's no reason the band can't tackle a variety of styles.

Oooh, I just thought, how about "Revolver" for the band? the mental image I had was that whenever the barrel spins, the band switches style/gears/leading singer the way a gun changed bullets.

With the right props and what not, they could sing a pop song first, then the lights flicker for a moment and then they are rearranged on the stage and dressed differently to play, say, techno, then change again to play metal, etc.

Or just do different disks with different syles. Like I said before, we are getting a lot of superhuman intellects and talents in there, so if say, three of them get inspired based on their new bandmates styles, they could even release multiple discs at the same time.

They could refer to these simulataneous disc releases as "bullets" or "ammo". And to the speed with which they release them, as "rapid fire".

Maybe it's a silly idea, but I think we should throw any/all ideas out there so they can be refined or shot down

Revolver sounds good. Also, how many dots of resources does Ned have at this point? I mean, I think we had five before this thread.
>>
>>29219142
Right now, 6. Ned is kicking ass in an industry where billions are made pretty much every time there's a big event, after all. But since each category is SO much bigger than the one before, to raise it further would take something HUGE at this point.

The fighters probably also have 6 dots. Even if they make more than Ned, that 7th dot is really, really hard to get, and the system doesnt use hard cash as much as just dots.
>>
>>29219263
There's a seventh dot? I thought the sixth dot was basically "You have more money than you can possibly spend."
>>
>>29219333
You are right, but I disagree with a lot of the rules on a lot of things. And it gives motivation, anyway.

Anyway, any ideas for band names? I suggested revolver thinking on making the most out of all the creative super talents we got in one group, since they are all from different styles.
>>
>>29219388
Flux maybe? And for motivation, you could have deals start giving out dots in Contacts, Allies, Followers and Influence. Essentially, we now have enough money to pay for all of those while maintaining our previous cashflow. Or simply made the contacts or got the influence in the process of making those deals. They'd also effectively represent our process on getting that 7th dot.
>>
>>29219520
I like your idea. Flux is nice to represent the constant change, but doesn't quite represent the constant flow of creativity being poured into the music industry, I think. Maybe Sound Flux or something else with the word flux in there.

After all there's no reason it has to be a single word for the name.
>>
>>29219520
Wait, flux is a word? I always thought that was just short for interflux.

Shit.
>>
>>29219639
Yes, they frequently have capacitors as well.
>>
Speaking of all this resources stuff, did Ned ever like get a new house or spend any of his money?
>>
>>29219731
I dont believe we ever did. Brass has just bought an extra jeep, and Python's mom doesnt lets him spend too much, plus neither one of them, nor Ami for that matter, is in the business to make money.

Brass wants his Omega division belt back
Python wants to prove he's the real deal by beating any style he comes across, with box
Ami is having the most fun she's ever had. She's a wrestling fan living her dreams.
Aura... yeah Aura probably burns through money. I imagine she has a penthouse to live in, and the floors under hers are her wardrobe.
Eldric probably has a nice place and lifestyle but nothing that says "im a rich dick". He probably is heavily invested into stocks, tho.
>>
>>29219822
I imagine ned has done several things with his money.
1. Got a very nice house. Not large but high quality.
2. Upgraded his wardrobe and stuff. Again, not showy but nice stuff.
3. Invested it into a lot of things.
4. His "investigate and screw over Bomber Lord" Budget. Ned deliberately keeps Brass from seeing the receipts of this project.
>>
>>29220138
I've been wondering if we should just ruin him and be done with it, or if should do a heel->face turn and become a better person, maybe adopt a role similar to Vegita/Piccolo
>>
>>29220160
Isn't this guy a massive racist who's been hypnotising people and getting them addicted to drugs and shit?

Fuck him, also fuck Vegita, that fucker had the deaths of millions on his hands.
>>
>>29220160
Well, considering that he's going to be face several dozen kidnapping, and slavery charges, and he's probably going to be stripped of all the titles and victories he won since the moment he sabotaged Brass I'd say he'll be too busy being broke and in prison to do much rivalry. We'll be to busy lapping the movie records with the three part movie deal chronicling the rise, fall and rebirth of Brass.

In all seriousness, once it gets out what he's done no body will be willing to face him in the ring ever again and the legal system will want his head.
>>
>>29220160
Hadn't really considered a heel->face turn for LB...I mean, I guest I can see him as some sort of anti villain, but I don't think I'd ever trust him not to revert. Which in turn could make for compelling television/holovision, but I think we can do just as well of better without him and the guy is pretty irredeemable.
>>
>>29220430
>>29220327
Yeah you guys are right, I dont know what I was thinking on. Anyway Im gonna go to bed SOON(tm). Will keep the thread open, but will probably see you tomorrow on... thread 50?
>>
>>29220649
This thread is thread 45, which was mislabelled as thread 39, so our next thread is thread 46.
>>
>>29220649
Maybe we should just call it thread 1 of Season 2?
>>
>>29220925
Or we could act like we're from the UK and/or hipsters, and call it 'Series' instead of 'Season.'
>>
I have a proposal, I remember that you can buy a second level of Dormancy to hide your Quantum signature. Since Ned has no outward manifestation of his powers, and since he's 'merely' a Superior instead of a Nova, he should be allowed to buy Dormancy the first time to suppress his Quantum signature. As it stands right now, he'd have to buy a level of Dormancy that would do *nothing* to get it, and changing it makes sense, since his quantum signature is lesser than your typical Nova.
