Your name is Masako Ishikuno and for a good hour or so you've been stalking Misa, whose been avoiding you this past week and a half despite saying she wanted to talk to you. You haven't had a chance to change from the horrendous catgirl maid costume you were roped into wearing by your sister. And this is after some boy was either brave or stupid enough to try to kiss you, you scared him away with a well placed punch. Overall it's been bad day and what is happening to you right now is the cherry on the fucking cake.

Misa has been avoiding you for some reason and...well...you've sorta not really been chasing after her too much because of what you did, or rather didn't do. You had the chance to steal the memory crystal from the doctor. You had hours before Aomi was born, before she was even remotely similar to a person to steal the crystal from the machine. And yet, you lingered and let Aomi be born, you did something you will never regret but you might feel guilty and responsible about what happened to Misa.

You begin looking around and spot her looking at the stalls. You shadow her and she doesn't seem to have spotted you. You take your chance to enjoy several other things while keeping tabs on her until she goes to the bathroom. You wait by the door and wait to hear a stall door close before going inside. You'll surprise her as he is- oh

When you open the bathroom door you see her facing towards the entrance, all the stalls are empty. She crosses her arms and glares at you. Before she even says anything you can be sure she is angry at you, but it isn't until she opens her mouth that you realize how she sees you now.

"What do you want, Mirror Blade."

[]"What did you call me?"
[]"What's wrong with you?"
[]No one calls you like that.

While we know this is Misa, I suspect Masako would be immediately suspicious that this is another one of her father's generals in disguise.

Wait, you want us to feel guilty about THAT? I thought it was being dumb enough to try and steal it from her in the first place when it was almost certain that Lizard jerk would get it first.

I don't get it.

>[x]"What's wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with you?" You ask her, not entirely sure why she'd be angry at you. Since when was she like this? "Momoko told me everything, about you and your sister." You gulp, you did confess to her everything, you did after Misa's crystal got stolen...you're never going to tell anyone.

"Momoko asked you to take it back, and you just sat there waiting for your sister to done?" She steps back a few steps, "I was beginning to think I could trust you, but I guess I was wrong."

"What if I never woke up? What if I never began to recover my memories? You didn't know what would happen, and neither did Lubu." Her voice begins to break up and she turns away, giving her back to you, "And even if your sister helped me get most of it back...I don't think I'll be able to accept her. Like you."

This girl has some issues. But you did tell Momoko about everything that day leading up to you joining p to Lubu, even going into town to teach your sister about this world and going into the seal room to help her.

How do you respond?
(writein)

[x] "What's wrong with my sister? Look, I admit not getting your crystal back was partly a dick move, but it was also the best solution I could come up with! In case you remember, Chameleon guy stole it, and the research-guys already had the crystal and was working on it when I got back. So my choices were to turn on them, grab your crystal out of whatever they were holding it in - and hope it didn't get damaged in the process - then try to get out before being caught. OR, let them make a clone, hope that, as was the case with me, it wouldn't do much damage to the original, then get out with my little sister as quickly as possible. I picked the latter, yes."

[x] I knew Momoko didn't suffer permanently. And was even able to recover her memories that I had when I reminded her of them. So I was certain you would recover and I was right. The doctor was already processing the crystal when I got there. I felt disturbing that would risk destroying the memories forever. Kinto belaboured the point, twice, that we told Momoko about it.

what's a horrible thing to do? not try and ambush the super-powered doctor in the magic base to destroy a memory crystal?

We didn't do anything wrong. She screwed herself over by letting herself get ambushed by the guy we warned her existed.

What could we have done at that point? Destroy the crystal? Damage is already done at that point Misa
>>
Anyways, looking back. I'm discarding the responses telling Misa the procedure started, because you had a chance to stop it. (Thread 15 Finale) Unless you're willing to lie to Misa about what you already told Momoko about."
>>
>>29220523
>we ought to
But we're really bad at this stuff.

It's hard enough for normal people, and we weren't MADE to apologise.

In short we're probably going to mess this up badly but Aomi and Momoko will patch it up, and sooner or later it'll come down to a case of "actions not words"
>>
>>29220520
Pointing out that we didn't know how bad the effects of busting out the crystal mid-process would be is also important. She should know that there is very good chances we would still be having a similar conversation with her blaming us if we did exactly what she wanted us to do.
>>
>>29220600
Good point, I think we should acknowledge that the damage was done at that point and the only difference would be that Aomi wouldn't exist.

If her problem is a spiteful grudge against Aomi, then she can frankly go to hell.
>>
>>29220586
Good. We need to be honest here.
>>
>>29220600
While that's true didn't we have a very brief window in which to grab it before the procedure started?
>>
>>29220562
This isn't about what we stood to gain or lose here. Obviously, gaining our sister was a massive profit, and trying to keep her from being completed would have been of dubious benefit to Misa and quite probably would have gotten us killed. The point remains that we chose personal profit over our relationship with Misa. Yes, we would do it all over again and we wouldn't regret it. We still betrayed Misa about as deeply as we possibly could have, and if we're going to recover this at all, she deserves an apology.

If she asks us whether we'd do anything different if we had the chance to do it over, we're probably fucked.
>>
>>29220670
>>29220586
Yes, we had a brief opportunity, but it would have certainly caused a battle and a desperate escape from enemy territory. We'd comment that it was unreasonable to expect us to take it right in front of our creator who we expected to have a deadmans switch on us. And since we did get one later with the ring and Red, we can bring up that we were right to fear that.
>>
>>29220628
>the only difference would be that Aomi wouldn't exist.
or worse, messed up.

We had options, but given that most of them were cold blooded murder and sabotage... we made the best of the choices available.

But turning this around, it's all HER fault for failing to protect what she cared about.

Strength is an important belief for Masako. Things rightfully belong to the person strong enough to say "this is mine" and keep anybody else from taking it.

If Misa wasn't strong enough to protect what matters to her, then... really, we did her a favour by giving it to Aomi to protect instead.
>>
>>29220756
Not to mention: Memory Crystals are extremely fragile if what we know is accurate. It was in the instruction guide and everything.

So assuming we grabbed it, it would have to survive the way out, and the fights we got in, and the chase sequence, and the trip all the way back to Misa, and then it would have to survive the procedure to get put in.

I think Misa is just angry because of what happened to her, but this is really something that isn't our fault. If she wants to get angry, she should blame Lizardman.

We can definitely say it started and it not be a full-out lie. Because our creator already had it and we feared that our creator had a plan for when we stepped out of line. And while we didn't have one then, we did get one later with Red, so was reasonable paranoia.
>>
>>29220847
Except, this really isn't our fault.

If this was about trying to break into her house at night, yeah, that's totally our fault. But not being able to defend her against invisilizard? That's as much Momo's fault as it is ours. Maybe more so.

Her entire rationalization is that Sis shouldn't exist because we let her happen. If that's really her attitude then we're just going to hate each other forever.

I can't really see how this is our fault. We warned her about chameleon. We tried to get it back. We feel guilty about it, but in our mind we're justified. But we kind of liked Misa and she really didn't deserve that outcome.

And then Aomi puts us right and points out how we dun goofed and we all learn a valuable lesson about making mistakes and apologising when we do.

This logic makes zero sense. That has _nothing_ to do with us. Having a chance to stop the procedure doesn't mean in the least that we can give her the crystal back. We had a chance to destroy it, which wouldn't give her those memories back.

Aomi being born was a better way to give those back to her because otherwise the memories would be completely lost. This is a complete disconnection of the reality of the situation.

We would be LYING to her to say that we had a realistic chance to give her memories back. Because our only option at the time was to keep Aomi from being born, was that what she wanted?

"Listen, whatever you do, don't get Aomi involved in this. Don't do something crazy and steal her crystal or something like that." You tell her. If she hurts Aomi she will have hell to pay. "Don't worry about her. I won't steal the memory crystal and kill her. I blame you entirely on what happened." Her voice sounds ragged. "Look, I don't know what you want me to say but, I don't regret having Aomi by my side. She begins shaking. You gulp and take a step closer to her and before you know it she crashes into you and runs out of the bathroom.

You're left stunned and speechless for a few moments before you begin to chase after her and you realize when you leave the bathroom that you have no idea in which direction Misa could have gone...this is something you're going to have to patch up, if not right now, soon.

'Close' and 'tried' only counts in horseshoes. When it means we're in the middle of a fucking stronghold and they may-or-may-not be able to instantly kill us, then it makes no sense for us to suddenly decide "gonna betray my father right in the spot where they can do the most damage to me". Not. Our. Fault.

If Misa doesn't understand this, then that crystal took more than we gave it credit for.

I genuinely hope no one believes this. I know we need some kind of drama between us but this is a pretty poor excuse if I say so.

Maybe we got it wrong. She understands it was illogical to expect us to stop it. She wanted us to do it because she like us. And she dislikes Aomi because she's jealous of her.
>>
>>29221779
The difference is that Misa trusts Momoka. Having her aware of how if we did what Misa wanted us to do and having it backfire catastrophically may help us.
>>
>>29221795
>so she has a right to be mad at us
No but emotions tend not to be logical or conditional for most people. Besides, it's kind speech in that facts and truth have rarely dispelled myth and misinformation over night. This is a process and it will take time. Thing is, if we want this to succeed then we need to start rebuilding trust on an emotional level and not just a rational one.
>>

I don't think that’s true anon even thou it would be cool if it was

If we're serious about rebuilding the bridge with Misa, then we will have to open up and probably even apologize.

>>
>>29222157

She has to know, unless she is just so emotionally distraught that the thought hadn't occurred to her just how difficult it would have been to do what she was asking with no gain on her end except no Aomi.

Maybe it's a "trust" issue or something. Like she trusted us to...throw our life away to attempt to maybe stop something that may have happened anyway. Yeah, real smart Misa.
>>

Because she's has to know she was expecting wasn't reasonable. If she doesn't then she isn't the smart one. Maybe she just feels we don't care at all for her and that's why she's upset.

>Maybe she just feels we don't care at all for her and that's why she's upset.

Bingo!

Look at it from her perspective: This entire thing has been sweeping her under the rug for our selfish gains. We wanted a little sister, so we got one, who cares if Misa was in a coma or not. She didn't know that we went through hell to even get to the possibility of destroying the crystal. All she knows is that we wanted a little sister and one catatonic knockout later, we had one.

She probably thinks we're the most selfish bitch in the universe right now.
>>
[x]Chase after her.

You look around, three hallways and only one of which has a good chunk of people looking either directly at you or on the opposite direction. Thats definitely the one. You follow the trail of confused people and giving yourself a slight boost yo speed using your powers to catch up to Misa. When you spot her she's running towards the school gates the crowds are thinner there so you manage to gain some ground but still hang back enough and wait for somewhere its appropriate to talk, somewhere with almost no people.

Despite you not bothering to hide she doesn't even care to look back and is focusing entirely on the path ahead of her. She slowly comes to stop and begins crying loudly while leaning against a residential wall. You slowly step forward and she then turns in your direction, her eyes widening in surprise. She takes a step back, "Get away from me!" She cries out, she's lost all of her composure from a few minutes ago. Her eyes are red and there's still wet tears on her cheeks. She looks like she's ready to start running at any moment.

You stay where you are, trying to hug her might cause her to run away or at least react badly enough that she might hurt you. You gulp, you've never done this before but Misa feels betrayed by you and you alone, she somehow trusted you enough to feel betrayed by not recovering her memory crystal instead of letting Aomi be born...you did tell Momoko you did it because you really wanted a little sister after all.

You look at her, Misa has been crying hard for a while and she said it was your fault. You bite your lip as you consider saying the words you'd never thought you would say to anyone.

After some struggling you manage to squeeze out an "I'm sorry."

She looks genuinely shocked, "Just saying that isn't going to cut it you selfish bitch. You sweeped me under the rug to get what you wanted." She says as coldly as she can her voice breaking up at parts.

Your anger flares up...you've never apologized to anyone and she calls you names? You take several deep breaths, calm down, she's angry and not thinking straight. You take more deep breaths and continue let it all out.

"Then what do you expect from me!? I'm selfish. I'm stubborn. I'm prideful but most of all...I'm afraid. back then I was afraid. afraid Dad, afraid of Lubu, afraid Momo, and afraid of you. I was so sure everyone hated me and was going to kill me or were at least thinking about it. You remember that dream I told you about right? But the last few weeks.. I've changed, not a lot! But I'm trying." You pause and take more deep breaths, you're admitting something you haven't told anyone, your extreme paranoia.
"I let you down you. I hurt you. I'd...I'd like another chance. I'd.... I'd understand if you didn't want to give me one though..."

>What can I say, I have a weak spot for sappy writeins

You look at her again and she...she doesn't really know what to think. She knows you are selfish, prideful and (though you will never admit it no matter what) arrogant. This...this is something you'd normally never due. You burned a bridge when you decided you wanted Aomi over Misa and its time to make a new one, if she'll let you...Goddamnit that sounds like something Momoko would say.

After her surprised passed she begins to look conflicted about something. Thats a good sign. She begins to bite her thumb and pacing around she eventually stops and takes a few steps towards you. You can tell her emotions are still all over the place but at least they're not directed against you anymore. She glares at you in the eyes.

"I might...just be able to give you a chance...but if you mess it up. Hurt me, Momoko, or the other two Cures." Looks like she hasn't really met them yet. "You'll have to deal with me."

We really didn't expect this. Our turn to flee and collapse quietly someplace for a bit.

As far as we're aware this is the normal procedure when someone apologises.

Tell her that she's right to be upset with us and that even though we don't regret our sister being born that we do regret how it happened. Try to assure her that you won't betray them again.

We should accept what she is saying as that would help her come around somewhat but we can't just take it sitting down.

which is more than we would give.

We have to earn her trust again.

I think logic would work on us. We wouldn't trust her if our situations were reversed, but we wouldn't have had any to begin with. We wouldn't mistrust her any more for this, though.

It might. But it would probably have to be extremely convoluted logic that bears no relation to reality.

>>29224410
probably. But Akira is like, number 2 on the VERY short list of people that we thinking fucking around with would probably be an exceptionally bad idea.

If Akira had been the big bad, she would have said "jump" and we'd have said "how high".

>It might. But it would probably have to be extremely convoluted logic that bears no relation to reality.

But our convoluted logic usually turns out right in some way later on. We feared a killswitch or something like Red and eventually got her.

[x]Anemia option

Hah hah, you've never actually known you could say that sort of things. It's almost funny, it wasn't that hard was it?

Misa speaks up again, "Remember that I see you in a worse light than when we first met. One day I might actually forgive you even if I think you should fall in a pit and stay there for the rest of your life right now."

She turns and runs away from you as if you were radioactive. You try to give chase but your legs won't respond properly and you end up leaning against the fence before everything goes black...you hope you don't hit your head too hard.

Actually this seems like a good point to pause right now. Remember that next thread is on sunday. On related news you guys managed to pull through a lot better than I expected. Good going! Don't Miss the next episode or I'll show you the way of the fist!

Yes, but why did she do it? Not because of anything to do with Matilda or Dad, but because she wanted a body of her own. Granted, it's a little hard for her to hurt anyone in her current state, so she might still have some loyalties to work out.

We couldn't beat Momo AND Misa together, trying to do so was suicide.
We couldn't go full good guy because potential bomb in our head.

Straddling the fence was pretty much the only option.
>>
>>29225125
actually, no. Let me rework that. We MIGHT have been able to beat Momo and Misa... if we'd bothered to take the whip that lets us make giant monsters.

An early fuckup that really screwed our Cure Beating potential right over,

The benefit of being a Mirror is that you're ALWAYS the protagonist of your own little story.

The only question is what kind of story you're currently participating in.

We have multi layered plans about how to eliminate ourselves if we become a threat, wittingly or otherwise, to the seal that sustains Aomi.

Yeah, they're underestimating our paranoia.

If anything she'd be surprised by the LACK of paranoia in everyone else's head.

>I can just see us being attacked by a telepathic monster and it just reads our minds and just drops all our spaghetti in front of the other cures.

By a strange quirk of destiny our own special brand of paranoid insanity and hard-headedness has imbued Masako with strength of mind against mental attacks.
