And we're back! Thinking about changing the schedule of the questhreadl tho. Most people seems to be coming in hours from now, really

******
Last time we went to a formal dinner with our japanese counterparts, and were moving back to our hotel.

Ami asked for permission to do some charity work with Rumika, and you said yes, but wanted to examine the contract and maybe modify it.
Aura is going to just change clothes and go over to Ritsuko's place to do further planning of their fight. She is playful to a fault, but her work ethic is very high, after all.

**********

Arriving at the hotel, everyone goes up to change clothes, when you receive a message from Aritsu asking you to call her when you can. She is aware it is rather late where you are at right now, after all.
>>
4chan is working REALLY poorly atm. Images are not expanding. I think the new advertising is messing up badly with it. I don't want to kill them since moot has a right to make money off his site, but it's getting really annoying. Anyone else having problems? I had to restart chrome since 4chan just froze when I tried to post just now.

*********
Do you want to call her back right now (It's quite early back in the US), just send her a text message, or call her later? it does not seem to be urgent

Brass: "Alright Ned, I'm going to change and check the local gyms for novas, what are you going to do?"

****
Do you want to just go to your room and do some work through OPnet (probably calling Aritsu back), take the night and maybe check Japan's night life, call someone else (The doctor back at the XWF medical building for any news, your private investigation team, Mai, or anyone else)?

Images seem to be working just fine for me.

As for what to do, I have no freaking clue, I guess I'll follow >>29252345's suggestion and get Aritsu back,

As it is quite early in the US, you simply go to your room and call her (sound only) while changing clothes.

Aritsu: "Sir?"
Ned: "Evening, Ritsu. You gave me a call, right?"
Aritsu: "Yes sir. Enjoying Japan so far? I just got Eldric's contract officially transferred to us. You also have a call from the Quantum labs, and a underwear company wants to work with miss Morgan for a series of adds. At first I thought they made a mistake and wanted miss Accussa, but they were very clear that they indeed, wanted to work with Ami. You also have 16 fan mail on the company account, two of which are marriage proposals. One is from a man. There is also a message from the rialtor that sold you your new home about wanting to show you a property on the shores of Crater Lake that he thinks would make a great vacational home."

You can see your beautiful assistant making a pause as she checks something to her left.

Aritsu: "It looks like a beautiful place. I'm sending you a picture (of the lake) now. Surely a home in the larger island would enjoy some privacy, but I don't know if you are the type who would want to spend his vacations by himself"
>>
>>29252488
>Ami underwear add
Nope, she'll say no anyway.
The lakefront property looks good though. I suppose we should see what quantum labs wants as well.
>>
>>29252488

Want to do something about any of that or let your assistant handle it all?
>>
>>29252549
>Ami underwear add
Yeah, that's... No.

>>29252549
I guess. Honestly, I was thinking we'd use our fortune to make some kind of hidden underground bunker, like a the Batcave.

Honestly, with how much the XWF are popular overseas, I wouldn't be suprised if we spent more time in 5 star hotels then we would a second home.
>>
>>29252488
>Ami underwear add
Yeah... no
>>
>>29252549

Aritsu: "Alright sir, I will ask your realtor to get in touch with you about it. Will you need anything else?"

Ned: "No, that's fine, thankyou Ritsu."

Aritsu: "Very well boss, I'll call you tomorrow at the same time unless there is anything that seems urgent."

You end the call, and having changed into something more comfortable, call Quantum Labs.

The chairman greets you politely.

Kenji Watabanbe (QL's chairman): "...also, I heard you were on a trip through my homeland, so perhaps you would like to stop by our branch offices there and see if their work can help you in any way."

Ned: "Maybe I will, can you send me the address?"

Kenji: "Done. Enjoy Japan, and try not to abuse the geishas" -he says in a good mood

Ending the call, you check the address on the global maps. It's about an hour and a half drive from the hotel.

****
It is rather late where you are, so you wouldnt go there right now. Want to do anything else before the day is done with?
>>
>>29252622
Man, I dunno. Every time I see one of these open-ended questions, my brain just comes to a halt, and I can't think of anything. Somebody suggest something, because the only thing I could think of would be going on a crazy Fugu eating spree.
>>
>>29252622
Not that I can think of. The private investigation team shouldn't be contacted over the phone
>>
>>29252671
>>29252687

Alrighty then, let's move on to the next time of importance on the trip, the eve before the actual fight.

*******

The artificial island has been finished, and you are inspecting it. The platform was designed by a nova architect, and despite its elegant design, it has been calculated to be sturdy enough to hold thousands of times its own weight.

The arena itself is made by a ring platform surrounded by a large area for cameras and those few thousands fortunate and wealthy enough to buy an actual ticket to the event.

Each ticket will be worth a hundred thousand yen, and comes with a courtesy plane ticket from anywhere on the world. First class, of course.

Everyone else will enjoy the fight either through a first class OPNet "livewire" connection, allowing them to enjoy the fight from the point of view of the fighters, or in a more affordable and traditional way thanks to the dozens of floating camera drones that will transmit every detail of the fight.

Aritsu: "Sir, we got an offer from Harley Davidson, they want to know if we would be interested in a series of adds with them. Victoria's secret is calling again about getting Ami for this year's Angel series, and you have thirty six fan mail. Do you want me to reply to them in your name?"

You are talking to a small, floating holo of Aritsu in front of you while inspecting the platform. Behind her desk, she is talking to a small holo of you that walks as he talks to her.
>>
>>29252806
"Sure, reply to them. As for victoria's secret, send a polite refusal."
>>
>>29252806
Aritsu: "Also, the army wants to know if they can get Eldric to do a series of adds for them to rise their recruitment rate. He did serve for five years, and apparently the army regrets letting him go. Malboro also wants him to be their new "smoking man".

You see two small floating icons appear next to Ritsu's holo. One reading "Army ads" and the other readong "Malboro". You know this info will be in your personal data pad if you want to check it later

Aritsu: "The higher ups want to know if you have made any decitions about the band project, as well. What should I tell them?"
>>
>>29252872
"I have a shortlist that we'll be interviewing soon."
>>
>>29252907
This. Also, yes on the recruitment adds and I'm sort of surprised that television smoking adds are legal again. I mean sure, there isn't any reason for anymore, but when has that stopped the government from keeping a law like that.
>>
>>29252806
Uhh, unless the cost of air tickets have changed, or Yen has become much more concentrated, I don't think they're going to make that much off of it. That's only like 1000 USD, and a first class ticket from Europe surely costs more than that.
>>
>>29252982
In the Nova age, japan embraced them and got them to help improve their economy and develop technology for them. Japan is a juge super economic power atm, and will continue to be one even after the novas are kicked off earth (since they will say "yes we kicked them too!" *trollface* and just keep quiet about NOT kicking them)

>>29252952
Well, cancer was dealt with recently so yeah, there really isin't a reason for it any more.

*********

Aritsu: "Very well boss. Please stay in touch"

You end the transmission and save the files to check them again later.

******
Please roll for
* Harley Davidson ads
* Army ads
* Malboro ads (tho Eldric will actually want to pass on them unless we convince him otherwise)

It's not so much an issue of the exchange rate, as much as it is the intrinsic value of the Yen, I mean a single Yen is worth rougly that of an American Penny, considering that even the cheapest of food can cost hundreds of Yen, a simple boost to the currency isn't going to cut it.

I mean to foreigners, this is expensive enough to warrant a first class ticket from *anywhere in the world*, but to the average person living in Japan, that'd be like a couple of laptops.

Unless Japan went to a large deflation, there's going to be a huge gap between "super epensive luxury" and "something that's decidedly middle class."
>>
>>29253067
>Well, cancer was dealt with recently so yeah, there really isn't a reason for it any more.
Smoking causes a lot of problems other than Cancer. To name a few: coronary heart disease, strokes, worsens asthma and all sorts of fun heart and lung diseases.
>>
>>29253248
you left out a few: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/health_effects/effects_cig_smoking/

4 successes. All exploding dice misfired. Still better than humanly possible.

Eldric convinces young men to sign up, serve their country, and get an education. The army finds out that XWF fans are no thriffling matter, and needs to place a limit to how many people they will accept that year.

>>29253125
4 successes. Exploding dice misfired as well

The ads are a success, and do much to change the image of the biker, with so much success, that bikers themselves change in slight but obvious ways, even going so far as to do charity work. In their own style, of course.

http://www.azcentral.com/news/azliving/articles/2012/07/13/20120713bikers-against-child-abuse-make-abuse-victims-feel-safe.html?nclick_check=1

You want to check this. So many wam feelings

>>29253193
I see... uhmm... how about if the tickets were instead sold like lottery tickets? people anywhere can buy a simple scratch ticket for that price, instead of a straight forward ticket.
>>
>>29253277
It doesn't really matter actually, I mean hell, it *could* make perfect sense in the setting, but it kinda it just throws me for a loop.

If you watch those old westerns where you see they you can get a steak and lobster dinner for 20 cents or something. While it might make sense to the period, to a modern listener it just seems silly.

What I'm trying to say is that while it can be perfectly reasonable in-setting, it can break the suspension of belief to the audience, and I'm probably overreacting over something trivial, as usual.
>>
>>29253248

Eldric: "Sorry, but I'll pass on the smoking ads. I'll do tractors, bikes, rodeos and indian casinos if you want, but neither liquour nor smokes."

It's a bit hard to figure out if he really means it or if it is a choice based on his public persona.

Eldric: "By the way, we always seem to react when companies offer us deals. Why don't we try sometimes suggesting a company we want to work with them? I would love doing some NASA ads and help people get interested in space again."
>>
>>29253388
"A fair point."
>>
>>29253538
There's a private initiative called "Project Daedalus" which is spearheaded by novas and normal humans who simply love space. They use novas with long-range teleport/travel abilities to explore the solar system and beyond, jsyk.

******
Ami: "I think it would be nice to do some work with charity foundations."

Python: "Well, the changing rooms seem good, and I guess this place is not going to sunk if Brass bodyslams godzilla into it, so we should be about done here?"
>>
>>29253388
Ami could do cute things, especially clothing. Brass might be able to do construction equipment (Down to earth guy who can lift a truck endorses a crane and the like). Python and intel processors "These chips are the fastest thing on the market, and I know a thing or two about being fast." Eldric for any company that makes things IN AMERICA! Aura with a line of perfume, Archangel championing low income housing development. Our Silver league guys endorsing local restaurants and such.
>>
>>29253729
>Eldric for any company that makes things IN AMERICA!
Anyone else hear bandit Keith in that?
>>29253709
"Good with me"
>>
>>29253741
Well, end for today and start tomorrow with the actual fights? Ami and Aura's first, then Python and Brass' the day after, probably.

Also, what do you think about changing the start time for the thread?
>>
>>29253793
This start time doesn't get a lot of people, so its good with me.
>>
>>29253812
I honestly don't know at which time to start the thread. Will begin asking each thread for a few days to see people's comments. Anyone remembers who was it that owned the nice spreadsheet for the figthers stats?
>>
>>29253872
Not me. The older threads probably have the sheets. As for times, evening EST seems to work well for a lot of people
>>
>>29253872
Ehh, I have to wake up at 4-5 am just to catch the thread, and it ends by the time I normally wake up, so I'm generally tired throughout the entire thing.
>>
>>29253943
>bandit Keith
what about if we start at about this time?
>>
>>29254033
Well I for one would appreciate it, but I don't know if that might inconvenience anyone else.
