>Tuesday September 24th, 2013

You awaken to the sound of rain hitting your roof and a few distant crackles of thunder. Thankfully, you're not groggy at all.

You check the time: 6:30AM. Good. Plenty of time to figure out what you're doing. And then it hits you - you realise you've already got plans:

You're going below decks today to find the last two tanks today.

You pull out your phone. Its a bit too early to go searching for tanks now, and you don't think you're needed for another couple of hours, so what do you want to do?

You did remember that Alexis went home very distrurbed last night about the news her old school, John Monash Military College, was joining your division of the ITL. Maybe you could call her?

You also remembered the Tetrarch conversion was going to be finished this morning. Maybe Mr Coape sent you a confirmation email?

Or Maybe you could access some scouting reports on Monash just in case your ever needed to face them?

You frown slightly. Oh yeah, you'd forgotten about Olivia. Might need to remind your crews bout the PT later.

"Hello Samantha"

"Hello Evelyn, you're going below decks today?"

"Indeed we are. I'm curious to find whats below decks. DeGaul said we'd have a guide though and I-"

"You have a guide: Me." Samantha says suddenly

"What?"

'DeGaul's office didn't call you?" Samantha asks "Typical. I'll just have to talk to MacDermott again about slacking off while on duty."

You kind of mumble in the affirmative, not trying to piss off Samantha at all before she speaks up, a little bit sterner than what you're expecting.

'Well, it's 7:30 now. You've got half an hour to be at the command tower. I'll be waiting."

The line clicks dead.

OH FUCK. YOU'RE NOT EVEN DRESSED YET. FUCK SHOWERING.

>>Tankery Uniform (Gotta look the part)

You throw off your pajamas and throw on a shirt, the brown jacket and skirt typical of your tankery uniform - you really need to look the part for this. Actually, you need to know where the old tankery team got theirs - the rest of your crew might need them too.

You rush out the door right into Haley, Marie and Alexis. Alexis looks as if she was barely a second from knocking on the door.

"In a hurry, commander?" Alexis asks. You see their concerned and wide eyed looks at youand realize you must look an absolute mess.

"Seaman called." You say, checking your watch "We've got about....20 minutes to be at the command tower."

Thankfully they don't need extra prompting and take off after you without a second prompting, walking at a brisk pace.

Seaman meets you at the command tower, leaning up by a railing with her arms crossed in front of her. She smirks as you approach, checking out your Tankery uniform "Well of course, wouldn't want anyone not to know why you're down there, now would we? Especially over something practical."

Marie flips her the bird for you.

"Okay" Samantha sighs, signing all four of you in as you walk into the Naval Studies section of the Command Tower. "There's a couple different ways we can go about this. We can search casually - basically we'll search anywhere that doesn't have any previous cargo locked in it for your tanks. We can search it thoroughly, which will take the entire day. Or we can do a mix of two, which you can let me know as we get to each of the storage areas. What sounds good to you?"

>Thorough

"Nah, we'll search this place thoroughly" You say, heading down a flight of steps with Samantha leading the way.

"Suit yourself" Samantha says, shrugging.

"Okay well we're going to start in Storage A." Samantha says "It's the most used of the storage areas. Particularly because its so close to deck it would take a retard to get lost."

You have a look around and notice a bunch of crates, One of which is quite old and dusty. Walking around it slowly, you realise it might be big enough to house a tank for a prolonged period of time.

Samantha beckons a wandering Naval Studies girl over, and they begin prying open the crate with a crowbar, heaving with effort. Eventually the crate swings open and inside......

....is not a tank....

Instead there seems to be a desk, on which there seems to be a map of the ship, a folder detailing old shipping documents, and a set of binoculars.

"Oh my god." Alexis says "This must be the old office effects of the old captain of the ship"

"Wouldn't surprise me" You say "Could we take one of these?"

"I'll have to call DeGaul about this." Seaman says "But I could look the other way for one thing."

"Anything interesting?" Haley asks as you flick through it, looking at each of the storage areas one after the other. It's mostly just ammunition and rations, but two things stand out to you.

>STORAGE C: GRIZZLY AA
>STORAGE F: A34

"Any of you know what these are?" You ask, and get a bunch of blank looks. Haley says the A34 references a tank, maybe an english one.

"Okay, glad that's squared away." Samantha says finally. Where are we heading now?"

Ok, the Grizzly AA is a canadian built sherman with the 75mm replaced by a quad mount 20. It will wreck thin-skinned vehicles, and could potentially detrack or clog the vision ports of larger vehicles.
The A34 is either a prototype T-34 with a gasoline engine and slightly thinner armor. That said, it's also the designation of the english Comet medium. In either case it would be a valuable asset.
>>
>>29331590
I'm hoping the prototype t-34

I don't know something about the comet make me suspicious due to the limited service it had
>>
>>29331641
The comet was no bad tank, it's mobile, and the 77mm it mounts is basicly a 17 pounder with a lower muzzle velocity. That said, the centurion was fielded a couple of years later, and we all know how that turned out.
>>
>>29331641
Given our school I'm betting it's the Comet. There's nothing wrong with it, just that the centurion came out and was better than it.

>Storage C

"Says there's a tank in Storage C. Can we got there first?" You ask. Seaman just shrugs.

"Suit yourself." She says, walks out, and begins scratching a tally mark on the door in chalk.

"It's so we don't get lost" Seaman says and beckons you to keep walking. "Storage C is this way."

You pass storage B and see the picture of the Somua S-35 hanging up on the far wall. You chuckle, if it hadn't of been for the shipping manifesto, you'd have been sucked in by that.

"Here we are, Storage C" Samantha says, pushing open the door "This barely gets used at all. In fact I've never really been in here."

You can see why, its gloomy and there's dust everywhere. Along one wall, a small fleet of Chevrolet C60L trucks stand at idle attention.

'How long has it been since anyone was down here?" You ask "This is all WW2 relics. The school could make a fortune off of these."

Samantha stays quiet as you inspect the massive storage area.

...and then you see it.

It's not huge, but it's boxy shape is unmistakable, neither is the unfamiliar turret configuration. You grin...you just found the AA tank.

>TANK UNLOCKED: SKINK AA (VINTAGE)

Wow. It looks cool. However, as you run your hands over it you realize it could do with a good clean-up or six.

"You found your tank." Samantha says, maybe a little sullenly. Though for the life of you you can't understand why "Where too next? We can always go down a level?"

If it is the prototype T-34, It will be lighter, and the engine has 180 extra horsepower, so it will SHIFT. If it is the comet, well, it will be slightly slower, however the gun will pack much more of a punch.
>>
>>29331994
I wonder if we can sell some of these trucks to fund our tankery.

>>
>>29332154

>>
>>Storage B

You backtrack and hope to try and find some extra goodies in Storage B. You notice that there's the giant picture of the Somua S-35, but everything else seems to be shipping crates, and pallets upon pallets of food, clothing and general shop items.

'Storage B is what we use for deliveries from the merchants to all the stores around the ship" Samantha says "Its a way point between Storage E and G and above decks. Kind of a middle man storage"

You rummage around a fair bit and ask a few Naval Studies Girls if they've seen anything tank related, and each of them gives you a blank look and a shake of the head. Nope, nothing here. Dammit.

"Shall we move one?" Samantha asks

(NOTE: There may be rooms with parts in them so its not a bad idea to check. Just not in this one)

Storage D looks just like the rest of the storage areas you've been in - a wide deep pit filled to the brim with all sorts of goods. Except for two things:

One. There's a goods elevator on the other end that, you presume, takes you down to the lower levels.

and Two: There's a distinct lack of anything around here.

"D hasn't been used since JROTC got their own facility five or so years back" Seaman says "It used to be their gigantic tough-girl graduation course. Trenches, obstacles, you name it. I've been meaning to bring it up with Olivia, since I believe they're still paying the rent for it, but me and her just don't get along much any more."

Her face falls to a kind of sullen silent anger as she says that, and then notices you watching, crosses her arms "Shall me move further below decks?"

>Storage E

"So, what happened with you and Olivia?" You ask as you descend the Elevator. Olivia glares at you as soon as the words leave your mouth.

"I don't recall it ever being your business" Samantha says.

Welp, okay then. So much for that line of questioning.

There's a kind of strained silence as you descend further into the hold, broken only by your footfalls on the metal walkways of the ship.

"Huh, looks like we're out of signal down here." Marie says, holding her phone up "Yep...no signal at all. Shame."

Storage E seems to be a large room that when you arrive, houses a whole bunch of school supplies and supplies for a couple of the stores. Heck, at one point you think you spot a crate destined for Mr Coapes Emporium with a Flak 88 taking prominent position.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can crounge up here, but maybe next time.

"Where else now, Miss LeClerc?" Samantha says coolly. Ugh, you kind of want to deck the bitch.

"Storage F" You say, reading back through the manifesto as you walk "Seems as though there's a tank stuck down there."

"Crates have been piling up there slowly for years around something." Seaman says, still visibly on edge "I had no idea it was a Tank."

"Well it says A34." You say "Merchant don;t use that code for anything normal right? I mean I'm only seeing it here."

"A34" Seaman's head snaps around before regaining her composure "No, that's definently not a cargo code. It's something else, probably a tank?"

"Any idea on what kind of tank?" You ask

"Do I look as if I know anything about that?" Samantha asks, maybe a little too quickly and defensively.

You arrive at the Storage Area and again, there's a whole heap of school supplies. Unfortunately, over by the left wall, all the Crates are moved away from the wall, almost as if they're leaning on something.

You run over and begin having a look around, eyes narrowing as you look at the tank, and back to the manifesto, and then back to the tank....

"Well, it's a Cromwell of some kind." You say, finally "But what does the A34 mean?"

"It means its not a Cromwell, Evie." Marie finally says "It's a Comet. Gee that's a fairly solid tank."

"Oh." You say, faint recognition on your face.

"Yeah we've been down here 6 hours already finding tanks, climbing over supplies, walking from end of the ship to the other...."

That seems to stop Seaman in her tracks "How do you know that?"

"Women's intuition?" Marie says

"Well, with that you could almost be a great Naval Studies Student."

Marie scoffs "No thanks, not enough reading for me."

You make your way into Storage G, only to find that it is full of food stuffs. A bunch of dusty and disheveled Naval Studies Merchant students ferry the foodstuffs from one plac to another. Unfortunately, there are no tanks, or even tank parts around to keep you interested. You decide to head out quickly.

You head out and see Seaman and begin walking back the way you came....or at least you think so.

Evelyn LeClerc, Tankery Team Commander.

Sherbrooke's Tankery team, at your service.
Now what we're they doing here? And did they find anything tank related stuff?
>>
>>29335245
I really hope they found something....

On a plus side, we found a potential crew that can fit the D2 Char.
>>
>>29335245
Don't Canadians always default to polite?
>>
>>29335435
The beret wearing French artists don't.

>Polite

"Evelyn LeClerc"

"You're not naval studies." One of them, Valdez you think. "What kind of silly uniform is that?"

"Tankery" You say politely, aren;t they just the cutest "I'm actually the commander."

They all begin chattering and giggling between themselves. ugh, Freshman. "What is it?" you say, maybe a little more angry than you were intending.

"You might want to see what we found in here then..." Lawson says, leading you in.

To find crates all marked with different stamps. Some have QF stamped on them, while others have HV and some even have BL.

"It's an armoury" you say, then more excitedly "It's a bloody armoury!"

oh fuck yes, I get back from running errands and we now have what we need for a canadian firefly

>Head Back

fuck yeah, we we get that skink to the surface, we might want to enqurie about selling the turret and getting parts to turn it into a firefly, which should be a new turrent, and improved suspension to make it a M4A1, shove the 17pdr in it and bam, firefly time

>Talk to the Naval Studies Students

You approach the students, and their apparent leader - Lawson.

"How did you find all this, anyway?" You say, dusting yourself off as you exit the armoury.

"We didn't....." Lawson responds before extending her hand "Oh right, Amelia Lawson"

"Pleased to meet you, Amelia" you say, taking the hand "What do you mean you didn't?"

"We found the room, realized we were due back and out of cell range and decided to just rest in there for a bit. The door swung shut., probably rusted through, and we were here for a few hours."

"Okay."

......

"Look, could we maybe join Tankery?" Amelia says "It seems really cool on the tv and stuff."

Naval Studies. And Freshmen to boot.
I don't think they realize yet how hectic a schedule of a Naval Studies student is. And that's without tankery to squeeze into their sched.
>>
So immediate/possible upgrades I see based on what we have.

The Shiska can/possibly should be converted into a Firefly when/if we have the money.

We should stick the 6pdr onto the Matilda right away and get it comp-spec at the same time.

Not sure what we can stick the 25pdr on right now and the 2pdr Mk VIII is technically an autocannon, we might need to sell it.
>>
>Y

You blink. Usually it's you that does the recruiting spiel. Amelia looks up at you with wide eyes.

"Of course, welcome aboard!" you say, sticking out your hand

>CREW UNLOCKED: FRESHMAN NAVAL
>AMELIA LAWSON COMMANDING
>DEFAULT CALLSIGN: TEAM ATLANTIS

You make it back to the decks without incident, grinning from ear to ear and making smalltalk. You found the Sherbrooke Armoury. Hot damn. You must be getting good at this.

Everyone splits their different ways as soon as you sign out and exit the clock tower.

Seaman walks off without a sound. You worry about whether you offended her earlier.

The Freshman thankyou and run off excitedly, chattering already about where below decks they're going next.

The rest of your crew all decide they'll call around to your dorm later, and the sun is setting as you walk back to your dorm, but not before getting some food from Mickey D's. You chow down on the the only thing you've eaten today, still grinning silently.

You head back to your dorm and find the girls all waiting for you already. Haley already has her head in a book. Marie already has World of Tanks set up and is rolling around in a 105 Jumbo, and Alexis seems to be texting someone. What do you want to do?

do we know anything about Vladivostok?

(Split vote, so I'm going to go with the first response)

>Browse Internet

You say hi to everyone and ask whether they want anything. All of them seem really excited but tired about the day. You, however, have something else on your mind. Grabbing your laptop out, you pull up your browser and begin typing.

"Whats the matter Evie?" Marie asks, looking over her shoulder between rounds

"Something Seaman said." You say "She seemed like she knew a lot about Tanks...gave me an idea on the walk home."

You type in Tankery Draft and begin clicking on different links until you come across one that seems familiar.

>"SASS" SEAMAN

You click on it, and immediately your vision gets assailed with stats, SWOT analysis and a whole bunch of comments

>SCOUTING REPORT: SAMANTHA SEAMAN
>ACE DRIVER
>KELOWNA HIGH SCHOOL

>STRENGTHS:
>ALMOST UNHITTABLE
>DRIVES WITH POWER
>PROTECTS TRACKS WELL
>TURNS TANK ON A DIME EVERY TIME

>WEAKNESSES:
>IMPETOUS
>OFF FIELD PERSONALITY KIND OF ABRASIVE

You snort a chuckle. Ain't that the truth. Then you read the comments.

"Where's this girl been? Thought she was the next big thing?"

"Out of the sport for two years. Gotta be hard to be drafted now."

"M.I.A"

>SUBQUEST UNLOCKED: ACE OF DIAMONDS
>RECRUIT ACE DRIVER SAMANTHA SEAMAN

You sigh and log off. Rubbing your eyes. God, you're so tired. Your tired brain, exhausted from all the walking and everything today can barely hear Maries Tank firing.

You're so Sleepy.

So....

Damn....

Sleepy....

ZZzzzzzzzzz
