You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You yawn as you wake up to Thursday. More tank practice to be had today if you’re keen definitely. You freshen up with your normal routine: brush teeth, shower, dry, dress, breakfast. Nothing too out of place there.

Now that you remember it, Tankery matches are starting for the World Tournament. Hell, maybe you’ll get lucky and the professors will actually show a match for once instead of class.

Haha. Like that’ll happen. Now you’re sad. Not a good way to start the morning.

You check the weather outside. Light mist, clouds. Strange. You check the weather on your phone.

35 degrees Fahrenheit.

YOOOOOOO WHAT, IT’S OCTOBER.

You sigh. You check your closet. Maybe you got a coat or something.

> School Greatcoat: Ugly as sin but warm as dicks.
> School Scarf: Navy Blue and Red patterned with the school’s emblem on one end. Like that’s going to help.

Remember Nancy walking in, blush to the point you don't need a jacket. Your spaghetti can keep you warm.

> School Greatcoat
> School Scarf

You walk to greet your crew, Nancy, Lisa, Ramirez, and your best good friend Kitten. They’re all decked out in the school’s greatcoats, bundled like truffles. The cold hits you like a fridge. You exhale sharply, your breath turning into vapor. “Christ, are we going through Antartica or something?”

Lisa says, “Well it’s particularly cold this fall near France, and it’s not really helped by the school being built stupidly high.”

You breathe into your hands. “Jeez. Whatever, let’s go.” You need to remind yourself to buy a nicer coat. Maybe a nice trenchcoat or peacoat, or perhaps one of those things that those girls in Kitten’s animes wear. You forget what it’s called but it looks nice.

You all head down to the street, and sure enough you see all kinds of students walking along, bundled in their nice coats. “Is it going to rain today?” you ask.

Nancy shakes her head. “Nope. Just gonna be cloudy and cold today, nothing to worry about.” She taps her chin. “Though, I suppose if we had a Hellcat, I’d feel sorry for anyone who’d be stuck crewing that.”

“I thought Hellcats weren’t Tankery legal. Aren’t they open-topped?”

Nancy says, “According to the ITL, they make exceptions for certain vehicles as long as the tank is properly converted in such that it doesn’t hamper or improve performance and which also has historical basis.” Nancy places her tongue in cheek, thinking. “I believe Walter Christie actually runs a business on conversions like that, not to mention other modifications and the like.”

Lisa says, “You’re really getting into this Tankery thing, Nancy. I’m impressed.”

“Oh, you think so?” Nancy places her hands on cheeks, beaming like a searchlight. “I must tell you! Studying tanks is becoming my new favorite hobby!”

Kitten says, “Speaking of which, Lisa,” Lisa looks back at Kitten, curious. Kitten asks her, “Do you happen to have a favorite tank?”

Lisa hums a little, thinking. “Oooh… tough one. I suppose the Panzer III. It’s a pretty decent medium tank.”

“Is it a medium tank?” you ask. “Doesn’t seem like it.”

Nancy says, “The Panzer III was actually originally designed to fight tanks, while the Panzer IV was the infantry support. It become the other way around when the IV was upgunned with the long barrel 75.”

You nod. “Ah, I see.”

You arrive at the school’s campus. All around, banners advertise the various sports team which have just been reopened this year. What shall you do?

You take a walk around with Nancy, admiring all the handmade signage for the Pep Rally. “Say, Nancy. How’s the Pep Rally tomorrow going to look? And why are we discussing it now instead of earlier?”

Nancy giggles a little at that. “Well, President. The Pep Rally’s going to advertise all of the new sports teams that Fredendall started up. Give everyone a bit of cheer you know? It’ll be out on the Sportsfield too.”

You purse your lips. “Hopefully it ain’t as cold as it is today.”

“Well, Fairless tells me we are scheduled to arrive in Cherbourg around… Saturday night I think.”

You nod. “Okay, sounds good. But back on the pep rally. What about us? How are we going to advertise?” You playfully box with the air. “Maybe drive the tanks in? Crash the party?”

Nancy smiles. “Well, I must be honest with you. The Senior Council didn’t uh…” her smile fades a bit. “They didn’t schedule us.”

“… huh?”

Nancy becomes all business, raising a finger in the air. “There’s 30 minutes for the pep rally. All time is allocated for every sports team such that they can introduce themselves.”

You cross your arms, frowning. “How many sports teams are there?”

“35.”

Your eye twitches. “Fredendall started 35 Sports teams just to knock us out of the Sports Warehouse?”

Nancy adds, “And assumedly leave us out of the pep rallies.”

You scratch your chin, thinking on it. You say, “Alright, Nancy. I suppose I’ll think of something. We need the student’s support after all.”

Nancy nods. “Of course!”

“What else is there, Nancy?”

Nancy says, “Well, Recall Election stuff, but it hasn’t been officially called yet. So I can’t really discuss much.”

“Of course. And I assume Lisa’s still scrounging for funds?”

“Of course,” Nancy says. “You know, if we make a good show at the pep rally, if we do, we might be able to bring in donations. And there is the issue of sponsorships as well.”

“Yeah,” you say. “Man,” you say as you scratch your head. “This business stuff is making my head hurt. No wonder I don’t take a business class.”

Nancy says, “You should, next year.”

“Yeah, maybe.” You check the time, about ten minutes before class. “So, Nancy, what’s your first class of the day?”

Nancy smiles. “AP History and Moral Philosophy.”

“… Isn’t that just a recruiting class?”

Nancy blushes a little, shrugging. “Well… it’s a class that doesn’t assign much homework, it’s mostly in-class writing…” Wait. That doesn’t sound hard at all. WAIT.

You gasp. “Nancy! You’re taking a filler class! Of all people!”

“W-Well,” Nancy flails her hands. “It- I mean, it’s not like anyone actually knows what goes on in that class?” ALARM. “OOH! TIME FOR CLASS!” Nancy quickly runs off.

You sigh. Might as well get to class too. Damn it, why didn’t you think of that. Then again, you don’t actually have the grades to actually take AP classes, let alone History and Moral Philosophy.

Math Class is a free period thankfully, which means you can more or less goof off. However, the Professor also has free extra credit assignments to do.

OR… YOU COULD WATCH THE BLACK FOREST PEAK VERSUS SEVASTOPOL NAVAL ACADEMY MATCH. YISS.

> Watch Tanks

You sit down next to all the curious kids watching the match and glue your attention to the screen. Sevastopol Naval Academy is a team that focuses mainly on Russian lights and medium tanks, preferring mobility and speed against Black Forest’s more balanced line up.

To this end, Sevastopol brings 5 BT-7s, 1 BT-7a as the flag tank, 2 T-26s, and 2 T-34/57s. A nice line up. Unfortunately Black Forest brings to bear several heavies which are downright impenetrable. 1 Tiger I, 1 Tiger II, 5 Panther tanks, 2 Stug IVs with one of them being the flag, and of course, the Maus.

You whistle admirably as Black Forest Peak proceeds to meticulously defeat Sevastopol in detail. Black Forest Peak keeps in formation, never breaking off to pursue any of the fast tanks, knowing that each loss they inflict on Sevastopol is utterly irreplaceable. Several skirmishes break out as Sevastopol only scratch the surface of the German tanks, until the BT-7a remains.

From there, Sevastopol respectfully surrenders.

You of course are watching the surrender in Chemistry class. These matches go on a lot longer than you think they do. Oh well, the other Professors didn’t have any work to give out anyway.

“Hey, girls.” Your staff greets you in line at lunch. “Did you catch the match?”

Lisa nods. “Total shut out. Not a single tank lost on Black Forest Peak’s side. Honestly, why would you bring BT-7s against Panther tanks? That’s stupid.”

Nancy says, “Well, perhaps they were trying to catch the Panther’s on the side. Use their speed and mobility to try and outmaneuver them. The T-34/57 actually has respectable armor penetration.”

Lisa nods. “Yeah, but the whole match, they’re just probing and poking, not once did they actually land a penetrating shot. The Panthers and the Tigers outranged those tanks. They could’ve actually BEEN in Sevastopol and they still wouldn’t be able to escape.”

“Shame really,” you say. “Gotta wonder what it’s like with a line up like that.”

“Not to mention the Maus,” says Lisa. “I mean, goodness. Already?”

“Well,” says Nancy as she gets her food. “Black Forest Peak is not a team that fights fairly.”

You all sit down at the table, having received your lunches. You decided to go with a nice simple chicken salad today, totally healthy choice. Plenty of dressing though.

In a sport that includes late-war tanks, it's a terrible choice.

At the very least they could've gone for some T-34/85s as their carries.
>>
>>29414801
Not nesscary it would make a decent scout tank and could defend itself in a pinch depending on the enemy. But considering they had bt tanks and other more faster light tanks then yeah I do agree
>>

They did lose to a team that had a Type 89 I-Go, and the Maus is both extremely slow and a huge target to something with a decent gun on it, especially if they can ambush from above.

Nigga, it had 15mm armor all around that was mostly unsloped. 37mm guns slapped it around like a gutter whore. It wasn't even until 1937 that all new T-26s were equipped with radios. It may have been decent in 1931, but by 1939, it was woefully obselete.

“I can relate,” says Lisa. “Sometimes the Professor goes over something you already know by heart and it really isn’t worth it to pay attention. So you just sit there, nod your head, stare at the board.”

Nancy frowns. “Shouldn’t you pay attention anyway?”

You grunt. “That’s coming from someone who takes a filler class.”

“Hey!” Nancy pouts. “Lisa takes History and Moral too!”

Lisa nods. “That’s right. It’s quite the Filler class. Sometimes we get to watch movies like Birth of a Nation, Starship Troopers-“

You gasp. “You get to watch Starship Troopers! That’s one of my favorite movies! It’s so bad!”

Lisa looks at you curiously. “Are you aware that the movie was made as satire towards militarism and was meant to be more of a parody of the original book?”

You puff your cheeks out. “Well- I- Fuck you.”

It could fire AP rounds but...it's not going to do much due to the length of the barrel, and overall performance is going to be worse than the 37mm even if penetration values are higher because the 37mm will fire faster, and be shooting tighter groups.

BEEP goes the audio track. “244.”

You’re absolutely drenched in sweat, your legs feel like pudding, and your boobs feel like they’re about to rocket into orbit. Might want to invest in a sportsbra. Regardless though, you’re the only one still actually running, and the students are actually cheering you on to finish the entire thing.

BEEP. “245.”

You shake your head. You feel a bit dizzy. Nothing doing though, you’ll finish this thing if it kills you.

BEEP. “246.”

You stumble a little at that, but ready up at the starting line again, then shove off before the-

BEEP “247. End of Level 21. End of Test.”

You progress back to a walking speed, looking downwards and breathing hard. Everyone applauds you as the only student to ever actually finish the entire pacer in nearly five years. You throw your head back and groan.

You throw your head back and groan again when you hit the showers. Not only do you let the cool waters wash the stank off you, you drink some of it as well, regardless of where it’s been. Unfortunately you’re too tired to talk to either Hanna, Grant, or Bradbury, but at least you got the Pacer out of the way. The Coaches respect you so much now that you can now opt out of doing anything in class so long as you show up.

> Note: You can now use Gym class as extra time to study, or anything in particular.

The rest of the day goes by smoothly, mostly because you fall asleep in History and French, utterly tired out of your mind.

With that, class is over.

Your greatcoat fills a bit stifling, but it is still cold outside. You meet your staff by the campus entrance. “Hey , President! Goodness, you look terrible!”

You smile, stumbling in step and saying, “Oh, don’t worry about me, girls. I just ran 247 laps of the Pacer, now I don’t have to do gym class anymore.”

“247 laps of the Pacer,” says Lisa. “Are you some kind of witch?”

“Lisa!” You place both hands on her shoulders, surprising her. “I’m ANYTHING, you want me to be.”

Ramirez says, “You sound drunk.”

You say, “Ah, you’d be surprised what happens when you’re tired out of your mind.” You withdraw your hands then say, “But anyway, we got practice. Let’s move!”

You all leave the campus and head on over to the Tankery HQ. You walk in to the delightful sound of everyone chattering about, studying on tanks, and in general just being cute girls doing cute things.

“Kitten!” you shout. Kitten looks up from her nonspecific handheld console. “It’s cold outside!”

Kitten nods. “I noticed.” You stand next to her for a moment. Then you place your hands on her cheeks. “AH! COLD! TRUDY! WHAT ARE YOU-“

“My hands are cold!”

“YEAH, I NOTICED!”

Keegan smiles, taking it quickly. “Ah, my speculative book, back to it’s rightful owner.”

“You enjoy it?” asks Smith.

You nod. “Very interesting introspective about the Infantry. Quite a number of lessons in it. Think I’ve learned a few things from it.”

Smith says, “And your project, it’s due tomorrow isn’t it?”

… is it?

You shrug. “Eh, I’ll have it done by tomorrow.”

Keegan smirks. “Just pull an all-nighter? Break out the coffee and the sugary snacks?”

“Ha, like I pull all nighters,” you say. “Though, seeing you guys-“ You noticed one of the distinct traits of the History Club is that all of them possess subtle but noticeable bags under their eyes. “-You guys do it a lot?”

Keegan nods. “We do a lot of academic ghost writing on the side. It’s actually pretty profitable, keeps the History Club from getting disbanded due to lacking a pursuit.”

One of them which you identified as Mikaela Howard says, “Yep! But keep it a secret though.”

You make a zipping motion with your lips. Suddenly, you hear the door fly open. “Bonjour!” you hear. Must be the Sewing Club. The trio of Sewers cart in some boxes. “Gertrude!” says Eleanor. “We got something for you!”

You walk over. “What is it?”

Everyone’s busy putting the new Tankery uniforms on, admiring the comfort, the style, the durability of it. You meanwhile, look around yourself. The new Tankery uniforms look positively military. A heavy olive drab jacket with a good number of pockets, a black miniskirt, and a khaki undershirt with some nice combat boots to fit.

Eleanor says, “I based the jacket off the M42 Jacket worn by US Paratroopers. Everything else just sort of came into place.” She holds up a helmet with goggles wrapped around it. “I even got a load of M1 Helmets, goggles, and some nice caps for us to use!”

You nod. “That’s great!” You take up the helmet and put it on yourself, it immediately hangs downwards over your eyes. “Helmets are a little big.”

“Well,” Eleanor shrugs, smiling, “You’ll get used to it, I’m sure.”

You nod again, your helmet flopping downwards back into your hands. You look over at Kitten. “How are you liking the uniform, Kitten?”

Kitten is desperately trying to find a decent length for her miniskirt, blushing furiously. “Do these skirts have to be this short?”

Eleanor says, “Well, I took a bit of inspiration from other teams. They keep their skirts that short to maintain mobility.”

“Yeah,” Kitten shouts, “I’ll be maintaining mobility while flashing everyone my tightie-whities!”

You roll your eyes. “Oh relax, Kitten. I think it looks cute!”

Nancy walks over, grinning. “The President is right! These are amazing!”

“Speaking of amazing,” Dubois knocks on the wall, announcing her presence. “I am in fact here, we going to get to work?”

You lean back in your seat as Captain Dubois begins her lecture on Combat Theory. “… so, let’s review. What is the best angle for attacking a tank?”

Tabitha of the Freshmen raises her hand. “90 degree angle. As flat as possible.”

Dubois nods. “Correct. The greater angle at which you engage-” she draws a line, then draws another line coming into the first at a 45 degree angle. “- the greater chance,” she says as she connects the line, then sends it flying off at another 45 degree angle, “Of a non-penetrating hit. This is why most modern tanks today have sloping armor which increases maximum effective thickness.”

Nancy raises her hand. “Captain, should we worry about using certain rounds for certain situations?”

Dubois nods. “Excellent question, Nancy. You do have to worry about using the correct type of round for the correct type of situation. You’ve got the standard AP and HE rounds, HVAP, HEAT rounds, etc. Non-standard rounds are more of a case by case basis, for example, you can’t use White Phosphorus rounds, too uh… burny.”

Dales raises her hand. “What’s a HEAT round?”

“HEAT rounds are High-Explosive Anti-Tank. Essentially, what you have is a shaped charge, the same ones you’d use in say, a bazooka. What makes HEAT rounds effective is the fact that it works regardless of range. You get the same penetration value if you fired from 100 meters or 1000 meters.”

You nod slowly, taking notes of all the various round types and what they can do.

Whoops, forgot to ask, where there even HEAT loadings for 3" guns and the M1 during WWII?

Anyways, I think this has been asked before but I forgot, but are there any rules on what sort of ammunition we can sling around?

It seems like it'd be a really effective equalizer for schools that can't afford the top tier tanks, but otherwise have resources/personnel to create ammunition.

Seems like it'd be a great way to make modern HEAT/squash heads/APFSDS rounds that can absolutely thrash WWII tanks.
>>
> Command Theory

“… now I’m aware that you’re going to be facing William Adams Naval Academy. They’re a school that highly values speed and maneuverability on the field. Survivability suffers a bit, mind you, but you also have to understand the old adage, ‘Speed is armor’.”

You and all the Commands listen attentively to Dubois.

“Now, to get an idea of how fast tanks work, you must understand that you can use them for a variety of roles. Most people use them as effective scouts, some use them as flankguards, reserves, etcetera etcetera. A tank that’s slow can’t do nearly as much on the strategic level as a fast tank can. On the tactical level, a fast tank can be a complete nightmare. Hard to hit, hard to find, etc.”

You nod. Dubois walks up to you, “Gertrude, perhaps you’d like to help me illustrate this?”

Dubois nods. “Indeed! It’s actually quite like Skycraft with the American planes. Get an altitude advantage, then dive down, use the energy to get back up. Repeat as necessary. For this particular thing, a hill is definitely something you want on your side.”

You nod. “Okay.” You take a look at the diagram on the board. Your Sherman sits on a hill, then charges down, plants a shot in a tank as it speeds past, then continues on its merry way.

> - 10 CP

“Keep in mind though,” Dubois says. “It’s a tricky thing to coordinate. There’s a reason this isn’t an actual tactical maneuver in war, but this is Tankery. You’ve got room for all kinds of crazy stuff.”

You sit back down. Dubois continues her lesson on fast tanks, then finishes.

HESH rounds are wishful thinking by the British army and the only reason they're hanging on to a rifled main gun instead of standardizing with the rest of NATO to the Rheinmetall L44.

They had middling performance against tanks to begin with, and with kevlar spall liners were rendered completely ineffective against armor.

And canister shot for 120mm smoothbore is a better urban combat round.

That said I'm pretty sure tankery requires historical accuracy on the ammo types.

Nevermind the previous post, didn't read your post properly.

When I said game breaking I meant in the sense that it would ruin the meta. There would be no point getting the bigger tanks since a smaller but more mobile tank would be able to penetrate anyway and win due to mobility.

Once you remove the reason for having the huge guns on late war heavy tanks, everyone would begin using medium tanks instead.

“Kitten,” you say, “I’m tired.”

“No shit. Lisa told me you ran 247 laps at the Pacer. How’d you manage that?”

You shrug. “I dunno. Something amazing I guess.”

“… what?”

You sit up and shrug again. “Eh, whatever.” You look down at Kitten’s skirt. She’s keeping her legs together. “Enjoying the new Uniforms?” you ask as you curiously flick her skirt.

“YO!” Kitten slams her hand between her legs. “Watch it! I hate these skirts already! Feel like I walked right into one of those weirdo anime things!” You laugh a little at that.

Cathy and her crew are busy watching TV. They all greet you amicably. “Hey,” says Tara. “Just so you know,” She rolls up her sleeve, revealing her bandaged arm. “I am recovering smoothly. I can still play the Banjo like a bat out of hell, you know?”

You nod. “I’m glad. Real sorry it happened.”

Cathy waves you off. “Oh, don’t worry about it. These things happen. It could’ve been worse definitely!”

“Of course, so what are you guys watching?” You look at the TV to see Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends OH SHIIIIIII- You sit down next to them. “Which episode is this?”

“The Halloween one.”

“Ooooh, my favorite!”

It is indeed your favorite. Such that you don’t notice the half hour that goes by. Dubois knocks on the wall again. “We going to resume, girls?”

“Luciano, Bolter. Please don’t start a drag race.”

As you’re turned out of the commander’s hatch on the Sherman, you look next to you see Luciano angrily staring down at Bolter, who’s obliging her with a furious glare. The tanks rock occasionally to show that they’re about to either ram each other or start an impromptu drag race.

“Right, Bolter, button up,” says Kate. “Don’t need you wrecking the Panzer IV.”

You sigh. “Same with you, Lucianno. In fact, all Commander’s button up. Let’s try and get this without having to turn out.”

All the Commanders retreat within their hatches.

“Right,” you consult the manual of formations. “Let’s try a simple V-formation. I’ll take point. Ten meter intervals. Sound good?”

Dubois says over the radio, “Now you’re cooking with oil, Gertrude. Begin.”

The tanks edge forward. “Right,” you say over the radio. “Take it slow, no rush.” You look through the periscope, to see the tanks starting to fall into something resembling a formation. The Aces of course fall in next to you, 10 meters behind at your 7 O’Clock, almost like clockwork. Everyone else has a bit of trouble, but they’re getting there.

“Very good,” says Dubois. “Textbook V-formation.”

You grin. You’re getting this.

“Fire!”

The 76mm opens up on the target, one thousand meters away. Dubois notes that the entire farm had to be rented to get that kind of distance. Oh well. Won’t be too long. You check the target once the smoke clears. Completely untouched. You sigh, “That’s a miss, Nancy.”

“Aaawww!” Nancy slumps in her seat as Ramirez loads up another AP round. “Firing at a target one kilometer out is really hard!”

You check the other targets, completely unharmed.

Except for the Ace’s target. Perfect hole right in the center.

Dubois says, “Good shot, Michelle! You hit a target way out of your tank’s effective range!”

You smile a little at that. At least you know you’ve got a limit now. “Alright, Nancy. Let’s try again.”

Long distance shooting goes on for another half hour or so. The inside of your tank by then is hot, sweaty, and cramped to all high-hell. But, you’re getting this. Everyone’s getting. Won’t be long now before you’re ready to take on William Adams Naval Academy.

> + 1 CP

You sigh as you collapse into the couch. Dubois addresses you all in the lounge. “Good work today, everyone.” Everyone applauds a little. “Right, your match is next weekend against William Adams Naval Academy. I have the highest hope for all of you. Don’t leave me wanting, okay?” Everyone shouts yes. “Great!”

Dubois leaves, leaving you to address your crew. “Alright, team. Tomorrow’s the Pep Rally. We gotta discuss the most important thing about it. What are we going to do?”

Tara raises her hand. “Are we in the Pep Rally?”

“Well, technically no,” you say. “But, there will be some time when it ends maybe, right Nancy?”

Nancy looks surprised, then nods. “Yeah, there’s usually a brief window they start dismissing everyone from the stands.”

“A couple of minutes to be precise. And we want to consider what we’re going to do in order to raise more awareness and generate some hype for the Tankery team. Anybody got any ideas? Anything to suggest?” Luciano raises her hand. “Yeah?”

She lazily says, “Do we have to do it?”

You nod. “Yes, you have to do it. It’s not a team effort if everyone but one contributes.” The Delinquents all groan a little at that. “Does anyone have any ideas?”

Luciano raises her hand again. “What if we’re absent that day?”

“You’re not skipping school.”

Janek raises her hand. “I got an idea.”

You clap your hands. “Janek, great! What’s your idea?”

“Well,” she says, tapping on her chin. “I was watching Remember the Titans the other day. How about we just roll in, do a short cheer, yell some Tankery stuff, then leave. That sound good?”

I'm not sure the gym would tank multiple tanks, let alone a single light tank. THe banners are a good idea, but I think it'd be a better show of force if we all sat on top of one of the lighter tanks in our arsenal, maybe covering our faces in the colors of LGA. We drive in, say a cheer or three, and roll out, leaving nothing but torn up gym floor planks and the heady scent of diesel fumes.
>>

“Well, unfortunately, Janek, we do have to consider what the Hall Monitors might think. I don’t think rolling in would go well with them. I’ll keep into consideration though.”

Janek nods, pensive.

Dales raises her hand. “Why do we have to do this at the Pep Rally?”

You tilt your head curiously. “Dales?”

“Well, there’s four lunch periods usually, but on Friday they’re all going to be combined into one period so that there’s time for the Pep Rally in School Hours.”

Lisa says, “I still think that’s bullshit, lunch is going to be crowded to shit.”

Dales says, “We could totally do Janek’s idea. I’m just saying instead of the Pep Rally, we do it during lunch. Like a flash mob!”

now the main point of a flash mob is the surprise of it, the spontaneity. How are we gonna do it, anyway? Just a cheer isn't gonna be enough, and I doubt that we'll be able to CREEEEEEED a tank into the Mess Hall with any measure of success.

“That actually sounds really great, Dales. I think we can do something like that.” Dales nods vigorously, smiling. You say, “So, Flash mob during lunch tomorrow. It’d essentially be our own little pep rally. Nancy, think we can get permission from the Hall Monitors?”

Nancy says, “I can call up O’Hara. See if they’d like it.”

“Great, what about the Seniors?”

Lisa says, “What about them?”

“Also great!” You snap your fingers. “Nancy, call Fairless later anyway, see if she’ll authorize it.”

“Righto, President.”

“Right, now, Janek suggested a cheer or two. Does anyone have anything else they want to add?” Everyone shrugs and mutters about. “If you don’t come up with something, I will, and you don’t want that.”

“Now, Lisa, we’re here to brainstorm. Don’t be that guy who constantly asks for clarification on suggestions and expects an actual idea to form,” you say. “No one likes that guy.”

Cathy says, “I can write a short cheer for us. We can all come together, sing it, then we’d be out.”

“Good, good, this is good,” you say.

Luciano raises her hand. Oh god, what does she want now? “Maybe we can drive our tanks to school? Hang some banners on the side and such.”

“… That’s actually not that bad of idea. Where are we going to park them though?”

Lisa shrugs. “As Student Council members we have unlimited Parking privileges.”

“Do we? We don’t even drive.”

“We drive tanks. Does that count?”

You nod. “Okay, touché.” You check the time. 6:30. Jeez. “Well, I probably shouldn’t keep you all for long. Come meet up in the morning and I’ll have decided what we’ll do. Right?”

Everyone nods then starts packing up and leaving. Kitten and your staff meet up with you, bundled up in their greatcoats. “Right, where are we headed?”

“What’s your topic?”

“Future of Military Tech.”

Lisa grunts. “Ah, you should go with logos then. Pure logic and facts will win you that argument, everything else will seem a bit jarring in comparison.”

“Great,” you say. You pull out your phone and start taking notes.

Nancy says, “Isn’t that due tomorrow?”

You get back to work on your persuasive argument. You’re finally making some more headway into what you’re doing, the Future of Military Technology. You argue that the Future is powered armor for infantry, who will become the biggest factor in the obsolescence of tanks, airplanes, etc. You cite speculative examples like your book, Starship Troopers, and other sites which advertise prototype power armor.

You’re about a third of the way finished, but you feel utterly exhausted. Your stomach growls. Now that you think about it, you haven’t actually had dinner. Might as well make it.

You decide on making a salad. Nancy brought the ingredients over last night after that little uh… debacle. Relatively simple to do, and you return to your desk with a nice little salad to eat. So far, you’ve got two or so paragraphs out of the minimum of five done.

You receive a phonecall.

“Hey, Mr. Mishka, what’s up?”

“Gertrude, I’m just finished assessing the situation on the Ultra-Sherman you brought back from Walter Christie.”

“Oh, what do you think?”

“Well, I’m going to be honest with you, there’s not much left to salvage. The entire hull’s going to have to be cut down back to its original size, a lot of the optics have to be re-replaced, the engine’s going to have to go, not to mention the custom turret and the gun. Practically everything but the Chassis in this Sherman is going to have to go.”

“Ah, that’s a real shame. What kind of money can we get for it?”

“Well, I have to spend money to earn money, I’m using a lot of the funds to try and get this boy back together. I can give you about 15,000 Dollars and the Chassis if you’d like.”

Why? The 17 pounder is superior to the 25pdr as a tank killer, and we don't even have a crew for the planned Firefly yet. Is the Sentinel really that much worse than the Sherman?
>>
>>29421801
I'm hoping for an easy8 sherman for our tank though
>>
>>29421622
>Y
>>
>>29421790
well we can use the 17pdr in the Sentinel, and then when we actually BUILD the other fucking sherman, then we can decide what gun to put on it
>>
>>29421747
It's kinda up in the air. Either is fine really. A significant reason to put it on the Sentinel is that its already available.

On the other hand, we can always upgrade the sentinel to an AC3 which still makes it better while also having the Firefly thus greatly improving our arsenal with minimum effort.

If we put the 17 pdr on the Sentinel that's fine but upgrading the Sherman will have to be done by using new parts which must be bought etc.
>>
>>29421837
True, you have a pint there, it's just probably my personnel desire to have the ultra sherman as our little project to turn it into a firefly
>>
Jesus Christ, we have nearly 30K. After the donations from the pep rally we should at least be really close to being able to afford the Tiger II.
We pulled in 30K from the Club Fair a while back, think we can get half that?

“That sounds good, Mr. Mishka.”

“Great! I’ll have the Chassis delivered to the warehouse ASAP.”

“So, everything doing okay, Mr. Mishka?”

“Oh, definitely. My nephew… or something. He’s your age- I don’t really know how he’s related to me, I think he’s like my grand nephew or something. Anyway, he’s coming into town to help me out with the shop.”

“Shouldn’t he be in school?”

“He’s in a special program that’s letting him skip high school, go straight into the workforce. He’s going to intern at my shop for a bit then he’ll be taking contracting work. The things the government does.”

“Really? Huh, hadn’t heard of that.”

“Kind of stupid in my opinion, but let’s not talk politics. Anyway, I should go, Gertrude.”

“Yeah, nice talking to you, Mr. Mishka.”

You hang up. You quickly dig into your salad and start typing away at the same time. Nothing like a nice phone conversation and some salad to get you in the mood for working.

Five minutes however, you’re bored of working. You’ve gotten another paragraph done however.

exactly, we already have the Sentinel ready to go, we stick the 17pdr on it now, and later, when we build the second sherman, if we want, we can swap the Senti's 17 for a 6pdr

The 25pdr has AP rounds right?

Well, in the long term perspective, we are probably better off with the Firefly, however, there is still the issue of available crews. Then again, we have plenty of shitty tanks that we can do away with while keeping the crews.

The UK didn't adopt the l44 because it would require a major redesign of the tank. A Study was conducted to see if it was possible, the biggest factor againstthe l44 was the fact that Ammunition came in 1 pieve whete as ammunition for the l30 uses 2 piece, using the l44 would meam significantly less ammunition as the 1 piece shells won't fit where the bags go.
>>
>>29422012
the 25pdr is an artillery piece, meant purely for support, and besides, there were no planned Sentinels with 25pdrs as the main gun, there was a prototype ACII with a ACIII/IV turret with 2 25pdrs side by side, to test the recoil, but it had no gunnery controls, you could not aim the guns, nor could you fit people inside the turret

For fucks sake, don't put a fucking 25pdr on a tank unless we have something shit and need a bigger gun, in that bundle we bought, there are 2 vastly superior guns, the 6pdr, and the 17pdr.

Use anti-tank guns for anti-tank work.
>>
>>29422012
>Well, in the long term perspective, we are probably better off with the Firefly,

WE NEED TO BUILD THE FIREFLY FIRST.

Why the fuck do you want to put a shit gun on one of our tanks because you want to save the gun it deserves, for a tank that does not yet exist?
>>
>>29422079
Well, I knew the 25pdr was an artillery piece, but I thought I heard from somewhere it had AP rounds to go with it, obviously I heard wrong.

Sure, we'll just use the 17pdr until we scrape enough to get the Firefly.
>>
>>29422079
Did they ever made a Setienel with a 6pdr gun?

I'm fine with using a 6pdr gun
>>
>>29422011
no one else wants to let them know about the E-100, the thing that could potentially defeat Saunders all by itself?
>>
>>29422130

We can call her after we finish our schoolwork, trust me, getting back into work mode is a nightmare after you've been distracted.
>>
>>29422130
I think Kay did her research and I feel Kay will not appreciate us helping her cheat
>>
>>29422128
they did, the ACIII, but why use that when the 17pdr is available and nothing is using it?

why gimp the tank now, when we can buy a 17pdr later once we've actually got a firefly to put one one?
>>
>>29422130
Are there any rules allowing that?
>>
>>29422165
I'd rather not leave it up to chance, and think of how damaging a lose to Saunders and Kay would be, especially from the Hereteks at WC

Fuck wheatger its cheating or not, Perrine let us know about it, we should let Kay know about it.

But the call can wait until we've finished out project.
>>
Hey Schteel we're on page 8 right now. Just an FYI.
>>
>>29422180
fair enough, I guess the main reason is mostly because I'm a little worried that the Naval Merchant will be overwhelmed by the 17pdr gun.

but considering the fact, i guess it's okay, what about putting the Churchill with the 75mm?
>>
>>29422189
regarding giving teams info on other teams?

none at all, otherwise she wouldn't have told us about the E-100 in the first place
>>
>>29422230
the 6pdr is probably better for anti-tank work, unless its a vickers HV 75
>>
>>29422276
I see, I want to do it so it will make either the NAChurchill or the Mark 8 (I forgot the number) more cheaper
>>
>>29422230

The QF 75mm is shit.

Shiiiiiit, it's better off with the 6pdr.

You lean back as you continue typing. Your eyes start to hurt a bit, and you really want to go to sleep. You check the time. 9:30. Oh gods. You hit your head on your desk. TYPE HARDER DAMN IT.

It’s probably another half hour before you finally manage to finish out the project. You manage to get the bibliography sorted and everything. You print out the papers necessary for an argument then go over the entire thing in your head. At this point, you don’t particularly care if you get an A+ or not, you just want this thing done and out of the way.

You file out everything in the proper place, put your laptop on the charger, put your project into your backpack, then call it quits. You strip off your Tankery uniform and decide you’re too lazy to put on a shirt to sleep on. Your underwear will suffice.

You collapse onto the bed, groaning a little. You cup your breast a little. Goddamn it, how is Kitten of all people more stacked than you. You sigh.

Maybe there’s something else you need to get done?

Also, KV-122 when?

You know, I'm actually curious on Kay's strategy here. We don't necessarily need to call her for the express purpose of telling her about the E-100.

>>

No, the 75 is not as good a gun as the 6pdr. We shouldn't even mess with it right now.
>>

>> Call Someone (Specify)
to talk about her match and the E-100
>>
>>29422346

Talk tanks, and mention that Hobart has an E-100.
>>
>>29422508
Like what we did with the Sherman and having already equip suspension, the kits, and the extra armor, we may be able to convert it into a ACIV by simply adding the gun

Same thing with the churchill but either way, I want to know
>>
>>29422561
while true, its better to not go randomly throwing shit on tanks and wasting the Shops time, they can only convert so many at once, and they take a day to do, so you'd be better off asking for prices and planning things out instead of slapp ship on stuff
>>
>>29422540
if not now then when?

We have a good week before the next match and we should tinker with this while we have time
>>
>>29422596
It's not a conversion though, it's adding parts, that does not take a day to change.

Also don't mention to Kay about the E-100
>>
>>29422629

For the love of fucking God, is ASKING SO MUCH HARDER THAN MAKING A GUY DO POINTLESS CONVERSIONS?
>>
>>29422629
>Also don't mention to Kay about the E-100
Why not? do you want her to lose against her hate foe?
>>
>>29422656
I said, I don't mind either way. I just want to know
>>
>>29422597
the Chuchhill is fine right now, our Sentinel however, still has a shitty 2pdr, we should tinker with that, and either get improves suspension, armor and stick the 17pdr on it if we can (may require a new turret), if we can't, stick the 6pdr in it and turn it into an ACIII, cause an ACI with a 2pdr is shit
>>
>>29422693
> improves suspension, armor
My bad, just checked the tank roster, and it already has those.

We just need to put the 6pdr on it to make it a ACIII
>>
> Call Someone (Kay)

You’re not sure what possesses you to do it, but you do it anyway. You dial Kay’s number and wait patiently for her to pick up. You hear a click.

“Moshi moshi?”

“Kay?”

“Ah, Gertrude! Good to hear from you! What’s up?”

“Not much. Really tired. Just wanted to talk to someone, and I think I just picked you.”

“Ah, is that so? Well, I tell you something, just putting the finishing touches on some of our tanks for the Christie Match tomorrow. You going to be watching?”

“Yeah, definitely. You know what they got right?”

“Yeah, I hear they managed to restore an E-100. That fast! Shouldn’t be too much trouble though, those things are slow as sin. We’ve got Shermans on our side anyway. Can’t wait to give Walter Christie a real introduction to Tankery Classic. You’ve been taking care of that Sherman?”

“Sure have. I’m having our shop strip it down to the Chassis. Then we might be able to build it back up again into a real Sherman.”

“That’s great! Hope you take care of the poor thing. Must be traumatized!”

“Yeah, Kay.” You yawn loudly. “Oh goodness, I’m sorry. Tired out of my wits.”

“Yeah, I’m actually about to hit the bunks myself. Say, good luck in your match with William Adams, okay?”

“Good luck against Christie.”

“Right, sayonara!”

You hang up. You bring the covers over yourself. You’ve got a busy day tomorrow and you need every bit of sleep you can get. You close your eyes, and then gently drift off to sleep.

probably after we've bought out Konigstiger, and upgraded our mediums to latewar variants, and have enough money to buy a probably rather expensive and over powered gun and turret
