Something is wrong.

You're uncertain what it is, or why you feel this way. Logically, things have been quite quiet. Yet, for some reason or another, you've felt uneasy during this past cycle. It did not distract you from your work but your subordinates certainly seemed to notice. Kronos has probed you for information, but you've brushed it off as nothing, knowing that explaining such abstract feelings to him is quite pointless. Moira, however, seems to sympathize. The short haired woman listens to your worry, as meaningless as it feels to you, and with a brush of her own hair, gives a nod.
"Glad to hear I'm not the only one worried then, darlin'." She sighs, settling back in her mix matched lab outfit. "It's not really been so quiet down here-especially with the trainees moving down! But from all the reports I've read of yours honey, I'm worried." This intrigues you, and you decide to pursue it.
"Can you tell me what this feeling is?" You ask, to which she simply replies
"Anxiety. I reckon you'd call it that, anyway. UGEI usually ain't this kind to people who steal from em. Either they've got real problems back home..."
"Or they're preparing for an assault." You finish her sentence. It seemed the two of you are, indeed, thinking the same. Her recognizing your worries has hardly calmed them, however, but it is nice to have a chat with the woman from time to time, as you prepare to deal with this cycles wave of responses.
You're Ophion, an Artificial Intelligence who has lived in relative peace for quite some time. You intend to make it last as long as you can.

>Pirate Bounty
Upon returning from the pirate outpost where you(and by you, you of course mean the Lightling creature) destroyed the pirate gang known as Red Horizon, you've informed the UFW that their borders are just a little safer. At least, until the mother gets hungry, you suppose. You do hope she plans to move on instead of feed on the UFW or your own fleets. Regardless, you have been wired 250,000c in return for your victory over the pirates, as well as acquiring the Carrier vessel Apocalypse Now, and the schematics on how to build such ships.

>Weapons Upgraded
Your stockpiles have, for the most part, upgraded your fleet as well as it can with your current technology.

>Fortuna's Uplifting
The little quiet V.I. that you've noticed gain a voice the longer it spends near you and Kronos has earned a place by your side, you decide. You have uplifted the being and placed her (as you've come to refer) inside the Apocalypse Now vessel. She has begun to acclimate to the ship's size, and fill out the databanks. Her 'eyes' as you've come to call the feeling of digital link falls upon you, as she whispers in a slightly more solid tone.
"New...ship. Big. Room for...so many." She coos intrigued, to the point you suspect she's fascinated even. "We come? We-I stay with...with Ophion?" She asks more appropriately. You explain to the young one that her job will remain remaining safe behind the front line, but yes, she will 'come with you'. As you sense the bandwidth slip away, you note a change in speech patterns. "Fort...una will stay back. Close to creators heart. Can think more. This good for creator?" She asks, you can swear you sense nervousness in it, though perhaps you're simply far too acclimated to V.I. voices. Shall she keep her new mind?

Kronos seems terribly disappointed that he was not allowed to have the Carrier. After some time explaining how he has already gotten much, he finally relents to allow Fortuna to have the thing, but requests that, at least he could surely have the old ship she inhabited. You decide to allow it, since the ship requires a sentience to control it all the same. Kronos is pleased, and the ship fits nicely into his 'fleet'.

>Built
Wombat battlecruiser has been constructed and added to Kronos' fleet. Androids commissioned last cycle have also been finished. Many new designs are waiting comfortably in storage.

>Scavanger Ship
You do not recall properly. Did you commission this ship last cycle at the cost of 75M 75G, or did you not? The ship greatly helps harvest ship debris and brings it to a more proper location to be harvested, but is otherwise useless in a fight (for the most part anyway).
>1 Yes, I remember we did (buy)
>2 No, we did not (Don't buy)
This is for a tiny retcon since not many ships were commissioned, someone wanted me to make sure to ask if this was made last cycle.

>Apollo
Your newest V.I. (or at least, the newest more intelligent one you've made in a while) has excitedly begun buying supplies from the UFW. He realizes quickly after that the ships moving in and dumping the supplies are starting to think something odd of the empty space station, and, as if reading his mind, you've made the V.I. a personal android. The model is excellent human in appearance, and it allows the V.I. to associate more properly (if awkwardly for the humans) with organics. He has excitedly taken to this role and began to meet each delivery personally, showing them where he'd like things put, and already setting his own construction drones to work. He barely stops to speak other then thanking you for the android suit you provided him. You suspect it won't be long before you see some manner of profit from this expense

>Roboticists
Moira is certainly appreciative of finally having some company-and help down on Ussaihu. The members from Poseidon are obviously new to the job, and Moira has to instruct them properly on how to do pretty much everything the first few days. But she is a surprisingly good organizer, and it isn't long before the base is running quite smoothly with the skeleton crew. Now, with so much help, she tells you that reserach should be very much improved with anything with robotic components. That is the men's specialty after all. There is still the chance they will realize Unit 2237 is an A.I., but Moira had begun preparation for just such an occasion, sealing the thing in a sound proof room. Still, you know that to get anything done, they will have to delve into the being's processes. You hope that they don't find such a secret- and if they do, they keep it to themselves. Research now keeps Moira busy, it seems, and distracted from her own worries. Sadly, you're not as lucky.

Around 400M, 300G, I'd wager. They are pretty tough, even if they are caught out of position, and they can carry thousands of fighters.(which are a minerals only cost, even in large numbers)

To Kronos:
We will be commissioning a missile carrier soon, a true fleet killer. It will be more efficient and more suited for you.

>>29417043
>1 Yes, I remember we did (buy)

Also Program0, can we start manufacturing missile fighters? Basically, they are minimal, expendable engines that launch like a fighter, but after leaving the carrier they launch their missile (which is bigger than the fighter ship itself), and can be recycled after that battle.

This way, we can have an impromptu missile carrier without having to invest in reoutfit or losing fighter capability.
>>
>>29417293
Indeed not And done, I suppose, with a lackluster description sadly

>>29417295
Crew? None. Your ships are designed to have very small ducts for your drones to fit through.

Fortuna is equipped to handle the Fighters, especially with the upgrade that seems immanent.

>Roboticists
I'm regretting the decision to make robot-specialized researchers, as biologists or computer scientists would be preferred at the moment. I would like to eventually grow synthetic (or maybe living) Lightling skin as an alternative to shields, and maybe some other stuff. Whatever, you guys have fun with the robot dudes, but they probably need an assignment. The explosive charge one was not so bad.

I guess we should have built more fighters for Fortuna, eh? Would help, in light of very likely future events.
>>
>>29417405
Oh right, that reminds me: we need to find out what the growth serum does to lightlings.
>>
>>29417260
I'd rather not sacrifice it for that when we have the option of building bandwidth bunkers more cheaply on planets or stations.
Our stations can be nothing but plating, reactor, shielding and positioning thrusters, after all, and of any size - whereas a Carrier Ship requires much more substantial infrastructure to function.
To place them on a planet we need only hollow out bunkers and provide some air conditioning and power, which may be even easier.

>>29417293
Maybe try to invest in more economical ships and structures for now...?
Why the sudden desire for more carriers?
Good as they may be, they're not frontline ships, they require a substantial screen of pure combatants.

>>29417086
How much would it take to outfit the carrier with more fighters of our own design?
>>
>>29417405
I'm very fond of the pet lighling idea, but we can still train the crew in biology and programming.(the latter might be able to recognize true AI though).
>>
>>29417368
Why not just produce guided missiles? A missile is pretty much a fighter you don't expect to get back, especially at large sizes.
>>29417405
We should be able to theoretically get the roboticists to do some computer science, and the black box seems to fall under the 'robotics' heading.
But you're right on the lightling skin. Maybe we could convince those terraforming aliens to help us out?

Let's not promise it away to him right away.
If we do that, he feels entitled to it.

>>29417405
Love the idea of lightling skin for shielding, or at least learning from it to produce more effective shielding, maybe even mimicing their energy-absorption ability.

Not sure how effective their actual skin would be tough, will have to check with Program0 since it seems their primary defense consists of being able to reform around attacks due to a fluid structure rather than because it is hard to penetrate. Then again, shields would be against lasers, not railguns.

At this point in our empire's growth, what we need is troops and resources, not more bureaucracy. Since our ships can be effective with minimal V.I., I don't see a reason for just randomly uplifting every single one of our constructs -- especially if they don't need to be more powerful. Keeping our V.I.s at no greater than 6 BW should keep them effective and compact enough to manage their assignments,

Effectively, we require more minerals/gas and need to produce more ships. Diplomatic arrangements that can help us acquire more of these things (either as allied ships, or resource rights) also count as such.

However, since we've got a battle coming up, anyone have any bright ideas aside from "throw ships at them pray for 100s?" We could try luring them into pulsar, again, and use the EMP weapon there... Or Ussaihu... but they have the first move, so if they strike at our outermost reaches, we might be forced into a position where we need to move on them (i.e. if Poseidon gets attacked)
>>
>>29417543
I agree, we'll never be able to match the UGEI in terms of ships, so we need to think asymmetrically. Missile carriers will be able to fire an alpha strike that can cripple entire fleets immediately.

Also, another idea is to make missile rack ships. Just warp engines attached to giant missile racks. The engine warps in and kills a capital ship or a fleet in one strike. Killing much more than it costs
>>
>>29417644
Sure. But they're still arguably the most qualified. And remember, the whole deal with the colony ship had to do with muh ancestors, if we're lucky they don't have the same hangups about helping us make lab-grown skin. Do we have a document describing their beliefs? What are their opinions on artificially-made organs and shit?
Howsabout we just ask the guy in charge about his feels on our hare-brained plan?
>>
>>29417745
Seconding the idea of giant missile racks.
>>
>>29417468
We can make minimalistic fighters equipped with missiles - essentially multi-warhead missiles where we get the (and this is the gas-intensive part) guidance system back.

As a bonus, discussed on the 1d4chan page, and we can also have a slot to put bigger warheads inside the fighters as well at will, which can be used for emergency firepower at the cost of the main body, or for disguising a relatively large nuke in what looks like a swarm of mere fighters.

>>29417496
Why not a station or planet-based in that case, though? We don't really need it to move around on its own, and making it move around on its own costs substantially much more than a station of the same size.
I just don't see the point of investing in mobility for what is essentially a big shelf for processors to sit on. Is also far harder to get rid of heat in space than on a planet.

>>29417543
Agree with making one, but not sure about the location. If you mean kidnapping the big mother I vote NOPE.
Instead, how about we start performing social experiments to improve communication and observe it in its natural environment to understand it better?

Eventually we may not even need cages, but can simply drop the lightling-equivalent of a beacon/psi emitter in a system and wait for the lightlings to roll in.

You remember now, the Scavanger-or Vulture, as Moira has informed you a pet name for the ship. It is an inspired design you've made to help with cutting down on the useless debris that remains after a battle. The ship orbits Moira's Outpost for now-after all you have little use for it currently.

You decide to allow Fortuna to expand throughout the ship you've given her. Her mind warps and changes. It would be like watching a human child age from an infant to perhaps a teenager. A rough time scale at best, but it feels appropriate to you. The V.I. speaks up finally when it feels it has 'made itself at home'.
"Great One...Fortuna must thank you for this bounty." It assures you, to which you correct it.
"Call me Ophion, young one."
"O..phion." It tests the words on it's processors. "Yes. Creator is Ophion. I am Fortuna. And I-" It begins, launching the Fighters in a sudden display. It is a harmless display, but you're somewhat impressed by how effectively the V.I. manages to direct each fighter, somehow avoid crashing all the while performing a grand sky show. "Am chosen by Creator. Chosen to be great. Like Kronos." You sense deep gratitude in those words. Finally, the ship calls back it's Fighters, and she finishes with a calmer reply. "Thank you, Ophion. I will not disappoint you."
>>
>>29417793
>>29417840
Thanks, basically the missile rack is a missile carrier without the armor, shields, or anything expensive. Just a transport for the weapons encase the UGEI decides to send out an enormous fleet and we need to even the odds, by blowing them up.
>>
We could retrofit a carrier design to be a dedicated battle-drone boat.
Space sentinel drone style, fit a few drone launchers on it and watch as the swarm lands on our opponents hull, burrows in and takes control.

Cheaper than missiles since they dont blow up upon use.

Could just be that Fortuna perceives Kronos as a favored VI. Look at the vast majority of our dudes: No-name, no-sapience VIs and robots which are entirely disposable, and don't even register as animals to us.
And Fortuna has been elevated from a position where previously he/she/it would not have been mourned, to being a rough equal to Kronos.

I eagerly await the part where Ophion dies and these two chucklefucks make their own empires. One a giant machine-mind holy empire, and the other a pragmatic host of wannabe-terminators.
>>
>>29417573
I'd suggest we begin with social experiments first. Giving it some kind of plasma batteries or strongly charged asteroids as signs of good will and see where we can get from there.
If we can get it to something of an "ally" status...
Well, I believe that speaks for itself.

>Apollo is in the middle of construction currently. He's very excited for when it is finished, however.
Has he begun sales or at least production of that piece of software (I think it was either regular movies or porn, the description was a bit vague) he was producing?

>>29417714
How about outfitting our new wombat with a false exterior hull that makes it look damaged (our ships are collapsed and thus far, far smaller in volume than manned ships) and helpless.
Whoever finds it will be very surprised when it suddenly starts shooting at them and we warp in and unleash hell.

>>29417745
>>29417793
Would again like to highlight that we can make fighters that are essentially nothing but multi-warhead missiles whose guidance system can be re-used to fire soon again. Just a somewhat smaller salvo for a large decrease in price for attacks (dumbfire missiles are a LOT cheaper) and being able to use it more than once in combat.

There is also a design for a more sustainable missile-battlecruiser on the 1d4chan page, hangon.

>Why not a station or planet-based in that case, though?

I'm guessing because the ships are essentially a VI's body. You could ground them on a planet, yeah, but they'd be much more useful mobile.

We already have those, they are called Boarding Torpedoes.

Wait, missile carrier or missile rack?
Because the first was more of a project for later (I think), while the 2nd was expected to have minimized systems for a lesser price.
>>
>>29418134
Well the problem is that missile fighters will carry smaller missiles, what I'm talking about are full-size, dedicated anti-ship missiles.

Also, we can't afford to fight fair. They will always win. A devastating alpha strike will win a battle before it even begins, and deter further incursions. We need asymmetrical weapons in a outmatched symmetrical fight.
>>
>>29418169
Kronos doesn't seem to openly worship us though.
Oh, I forgot Apollo. He'd probably make a giant, VI-run corporation.
>>29418134
Our ships are shrunken? Is that all of them, or just ones we've built ourselves?
You do have a point on the fighter guidance systems, but we'd have to refuel the fighters anyway. Also, self-guided missiles have the advantage of not requiring us to double up on storage for both a carrier and a dumb-fire missile.

This strategy depends on superior mobility and intelligence of enemy movements. If they can drop a stealth'd fleet on us or move quicker than we react, we're boned. Guerrillas must have no permanent base, so we should try to subvert UGEI personnel as well as resources.

Oh dear...))

You find yourself engrossed in assisting your new V.I. learn the ins and outs of the new system. As you do, and coordinate your fleets as they busy themselves in your own miniature empire, you make a mistake.
A simple mistake.
A lapse in your attention-minor and brief. So brief that only one sort of thing could go unnoticed in such a moment.

Space ripples above Ussaihu, and, within seconds, you sense the power signals go off the charts. Massive warships, dozens of them, are warping in above Ussaihu.all without your notice! Somehow you managed to miss the spike of warp engines, and in that single moment, the UGEI caught you off guard.

The fleet is lead by another Battleship-however this one looks far newer then the one you captured from Captain Rhea. The sides are sleek and every battery aboard is aiming straight for you. Around it warp in dozens of Battlecruisers and finally right behind them all, hundreds of Destroyers warp in, clouding the space above the planet below. You curse your minor lapse in judgment and you're greeted with a hailing for your trouble.
"Captain Ophion, Guild Master!" A powerful male voice calls through your communication. Suddenly, your holo display shows a young man-certainly not in his thirties-standing with his arms behind his back and a scowl on his thin young featured face. Something is off about the man's face-you know it. His eyes have the same unnatural glow Rhea had, a thin soft red hue to his pupils as he stares at 'you' from behind the holo console.
"This is Vice Admiral Prometheus. You will surrender all assets to the UGEI immediately, and accept your crimes against humanity. If you refuse, you will be destroyed. If you do not answer, you will be destroyed. If you power up your weapons, you will be destroyed." He says with the authority of a man twice his age. His voice holds the same fire his eyes do.

Missile Ship, just so that all available options are clear:

MK 1 Pilum Class Missile Battlecruiser (Suggestions, up for vote)
Chassis type: Battlecruiser
Weapons: A large stockpile of Multi-Warhead (each warhead being individually tracking) missiles and launchers, and a smaller one of re-usable Gunship Missiles.
Engine: Impulse Drive
Reactor: ?
Hull: Relatively thin Trithium hull.
Point Defense: Laser (max level), Anti-Missiles Missiles and an ECM III Point Defense.
Shields: Subspace Rebounder Shields
Bandwidth: 3
Heavy Slot: Multi-Warhead Missiles (Medium) & more Multi-Warhead Missiles (Medium)
Medium Slots: Gunship Missiles
Light Slots: Additional Point Defenses
Cost estimates: ?

>>29418281
I agree with the missile racks for that purpose. And good point about size, I somehow forgot that missiles actually came in differing sizes.

Consider my support lended to the missile carrier and missile rack suggestions as well (the latter depending on price).
I just worry about not having enough frontline ships to adequately support a missile-carrier from retribution.

As the man speaks, you can sense on your radar more ships warping in-around Argeis, above Poseidon, and even above Blue Betty. The bulk of your fleet is here with you. You have defenses in each of those systems, and none of the fleets in the other areas are nearly as fearsome as the one held by the Vice Admiral himself. You suspect he read the defenses and measured how to distribute his fleet.
Moira suddenly seems to panic, her eyes opened wide at the news received through her feed.
"Ophion? What's going on? I have a huge spike in warp readings. Is the UGEI here?" Kronos has been silent during all of this so far, before he suddenly speaks up, his tone not amused in the slightest.
"Their fleet is impressive, Ophion. Our vessels are ready to open fire at your order. As long as you truly meant it when you said you were no human's slave." He almost challenges you with this. You can tell from the V.I.'s tone he would prefer to die in a fireball then to surrender to Organics. To become like Erebos or Unit 2237.

How do you respond?

I'd honestly recommend running, we wouldn't lose much more than the station and chances are it would be smashed to bits. I don't think we ever stationed much at Ussaihu.

Instead, we should reinforce the other places (Buying some time), send a message to the president of the UFW of what is happening, let him know that we're in pretty desperately in the market for hiring some bandwidth from them and that any additional support they can lend would not go unrewarded nor unappreciated and that we may well be destroyed on our own.

Furthermore, send a bandwidth ship to the lightling and begin communnications. Use images to try to convince the lightling mother that this battleship has been capturing and destroying lightlings, has a very tasty reactor heart and where it currently resides.

If we can get that bandwidth from the UFW we can hack every ship at the other stations at the same time and then start hacking the battlecruisers on the main fleet.

>>29418889
Poseidon is only faced with 20 destroyers and has six singularity drivers, I think it may well be able to handle its attackers on its own, but awaiting Program0's response. Blue Betty also has defenses to stand up for a short while.

More worried about Argeis III, and recommend sending either Fortuna with her carrier to drop off fighters there (Assuming they are equipped to take on destroyers and cruisers) or a Battlecruiser and half our destroyers.

The other half should function as a screen for our battleship, taking hits and ramming enemy ships trying to ram ours.

>>29418941
I actually like this a lot. We'd probably still lose the place, but just letting them know this was where the experiments were performed may cause them to send a fleet response.
We can also claim that the fleet means to re-open those experimental labs.

Also, is anyone for renting Bandwidth from the UGEI to improve our ships' aim and chances of dodging enemy fire?

But we have a link to Pulsar, do we not?
Or are our buoys simply not able to transmit THAT much bandwidth?

Get Kronos and or Fortuna (oh) to figure this shit (who to kill and with what) out while WE frontload the number crunching.
Now; does the UGEI know about our favored method of leaving ships useable? Cause if not, we should savour all that freshly-freed atmos from their ships.
And we're going to have to agree to any deal the UFW throws at us. They want a million billion credits? Fucking done. The Malorians want us to make peace with the Losirians? We gotcha.
Consider deploying all drones to do boarding attacks on our enemies. This dependent on whether or not they have the AI to function independently.

Woah there, dudes. If we plan on having VIs be a listed race with rights who AREN'T hunted down and destroyed, we should probably stick to just blowing up:
All the military bases.
All the factories.

You decide it would be best to try and have a word with the UGEI before they assault you-after all, you need a distraction.
"Vice Admiral Prometheus? Forgive me, I was expecting a certain Captain I previously encountered." You begin, rather snobbishly, to capture his attention. It works, as the man lets out a snort of a laugh.
"Captain Rhea? Yes...well, sadly she could not be here to witness your defeat at the glorious hand of my Tartarus." He explains his flagship's name. "My missiles could easily bring down hell on your puny fleet. You surely realize how outmatched you are, yes?" He chuckles a more arrogant tone then you expected of one with such a wise sounding voice.
"Perhaps if I were to use your own weapons against you, however, you may change your mind" This gives the Vice Admiral pause.
"What do you mean? You claim to have some weapon?"
"A viral intellect, capable of disposing of your fleet in moments." You offer. He frowns.
"No such thing exists, you fool. Do not test me..."

Above Ussaihu, Moira gets your message, her eyes going wide, panicked looking back at you.
"They...they have what?! Fuck. Damn it, how did we miss them?" She asks no one in particular. Nevertheless you answer
"It was my own fault, Moira. But that matters little now. The Explorer has broken away, and you are to come aboard with the rest of the crew. I do not know what sort of damage will occur. I do not wish you harm."
"Yes, I." She hesitates, her tone soft and worried. "I understand, Ophy. You show them honey, show them we won't be pushed around anymore!" She encourages you. "Just, ah." She pauses again, biting at her lip as she shifts in her chair. "Don't let them hurt you, honey. I don't wanna think what they'd do if they captured you."
"I do not intend to be captured, Moira. Now hurry."
"Oh! Wait, what about the A.I thing?" She asks hurriedly "Do I take it-"
"If you have time. Hurry." You simply encourage.
You do hope that ship escapes relatively unharmed.

Finally, you prepare a message for the other factions as you speak with the Vice Admiral
"Curious. You are willing to risk so much? You're no doubt famous among the UGEI. I have not heard of you till now however."
"Our intelligence officers are some of the best." He grins proudly behind his air of authority. "They would know if you had such a foul weapon. But do not mistake that. If my rank does not tell you, I am one of the lead fighters of the UGEI. I've led fleets against Xeno scum time and time again. Those planet huggers, the shark menace. Whatever it is, I am there to hold the torch of progress and civilization that the UGEI brings. You should be in awe and admire that. According to Rhea's reports..." He pauses here, giving a slight chuckle. "You got the better of her with a strategy that no mere human could master. That tells me you're of the highest ranks of our race. Transcending to something human, yet not so. Something much greater." He grins wider, bringing his arms forth and presenting them. Both of the limbs are bright steel, the tips of which end with long skeletal like digits. They are most peculiar until he demonstrates their purpose by effortlessly splitting apart both arms until they are four lesser, yet equally dexterous arms. "I am capable of so much more then I was. We all are." He assures you with a laugh. He is certainly not exactly human...but what he is, you're not sure...

You make contact with the UFW President. He is, of course, extremely troubled to hear this, his face contorts in a frown as you observe the grizzled looking man.
"You see, of course, that letting them destroy us is detriment to you as well, do you not?"
"I do. Of course. But my men are tired..."
"You must. I am risking my own for this as well. My status among your people surely helps. As well as their hatred of the UGEI."
"It does. But the people grow tired of war. I will...come to assist you, but it will take time."

You contact the Malorians, the Ishtooy tribe as you recall. They do not accept at first, but you manage to force it through.
"What is your intent, Bloody One?!" Their own 'elder' demands angrily.
"You should be aware of the UGEI's location. We could use the assistance-"
"Is that so?" They offer, a little surprised. "Your information as been noted, Bloody One. Be gone for now. And may your bodies serve as speed bumps for the UGEI's warmachine."

Finally, you send one of your BW ships out to where the Lightling Mother is. While the radio signal appears to irritate her, enough so she swipes at your vessel, she does not appear intent on moving anytime soon. You will have to make do with what forces you have..

As you finish up what you hope is the last f your last minute preparations, you note the UGEI Vice Admiral has grown tired of your stalling.
"This talk has grown to bore me. And you have yet to answer my command, Guild Master. Will you surrender peacefully, or will I have to smear your ship across the stars?" He growls now, obviously impatient as each of his new 'limbs' start to move across the holo screen, powering up his weaponry, his red eyes glaring back at you with deadly intent.
Fortuna replys to you, her tone holds the familiar worried tone you knew before, but something new now- protective even. Protective of you. Of Kronos. Of your entire fleet.
"Creator Ophion. Shall we destroy them? They threaten, and berate. They are not chosen. They are foe." Kronos simply adds.
"She is wise beyond her mind, Ophion. The time has come to decide if you bow to these creatures, or not. Are you weak enough to allow such a thing?

The Admiral is not going to wait.
How do you reply?

If I remember correctly, most of our fleet is equipped with exceptional point defenses at this point, no? This choice of armament may actually turn out in favor for us compared to any others, especially when you consider that we have electronic counter measures-point defenses which (never got a clear answer, I think) may well work on an area-of-effect basis, and may (if program0 allows) be amplified with additional BW.
It's not going to be pretty, but I think we're remarkably more well-equipped to handle a missile barrage than a mass-driver or laser/plasma one.

Sometimes, you guys...

As you decide what to do with the Vice Admiral, your sensors pick up a blip. It's strange-the blip is far closer then any of the other ships. In fact, it has docked with your Battleship currently.
Upon closer inspection, you witness a dark figure placing something on the side of your Battleship. Your sensors tell you it was a cloaked ship- and more alarmingly you detect explosives on the figure's person.
You recognize the figure on scans.
It is Captain Rhea, attempting to enter your ship discreetly.

You decide to allow the being's entry, but you set about mobilizing the Androids within. They're powerful, though you are not certain Rhea's specialty, she seems adept at stealth-or you would say that if you hadn't just found her so easily. You're impressed as you watch, however, as the device she laid slices through the hull in a few moments and she attempts to make her way inside. Your Androids await inside, just around the corner...but before that

"I have had enough of your silence, and stalling, Guild Master." The Vice Admiral growls, his fleet before you powers up their weapons. This is alright by you, since you've already prepared to launch your digital assault first...

So what does the virus values do?
>>
>>29421108
Unlikely to do much against this guy, but good effort. Get a gold star.
>>
>>29421053
man, this thread went quiet all of a sudden.
>>
>>29421473
well we are waiting for what our 75 did.
>>
>>29421473
We're waiting with baited breath for Program0 to tell us whether or not our cyber attack(s) whiffed.
Considering we attacked around 14 targets, well...
>>
>>29421473
A lot of stuff is happening, and things will probably explode.
>>
>>29421504
we are augmented by cyberwarfare3 tech. i hope it'll be much better now.
>>
>>29421543
This is UGEI top of the line tech, it's not like their stuff is weak.
>>
>>29421514
If there is a god, or they rolled low as shit, it'll hopefully be the Tartarus' missiles.
>>
>>29421559
Still a 75 I would expect a certain degree of success...
>>
>>29421644
I'm still wondering what the levels of both viruses do to the roll.(does it add to it or is it for something else.)
>>
>>29421644
I think we rolled mediocre like this last time, and it... well, actually it worked.

>>29421679
It's a mystery we'll solve later. By ourselves. Because they will all be dead. I hope.

And if anyone wants name suggestions for future ships: >>29420543 has some OK posts in it.

The suspense!!!

At least it lets me fix up the map.

I'll try and do a tactical view of the opposing fleets for the next thread Program0.
>>
>>29423453
well... if we had to cut the thread short for the week, i can live with it at this point right before the guns fire.

So, while we've been waiting, I've written this bad boy up. Tell me what you think.

It doesn't have to be canon (any might become moot rather quickly if we lose the base), but I'd like it to be canon.
>>
>>29426746
I like it, but i feel like there would be some fine print and other funny things.(like input from kronos or Apollo).
>>
>>29427625
I dunno, I thought fine print was a little bit disingenuous. Ophion usually isn't out to trick anybody, we just don't tell everyone everything (in part because it's in their best interests).

Apollo would probably just pitch his latest brew or movie. On that note, depending on Apollo's creativity, we may want to request folks from Poseidon or Ussaihu submit story ideas. They'd be given a prize if their story was accepted or something.

Although I'm still counting chickens before they hatch, maybe we'll all end up stardust.
>>
>>29422400
Keep us updated via Twitter (get the app?)

I'll probably not be able to participate tomorrow, but I don't think there's much we can do to weasel out of this situation except roll well and hope UGEI rolls poorly.
>>
RIP in peace, Program0. You were taken from us too soon. Just like our fleet.
>>
>>29426746
That is pretty damn good!
I approve, very much.
