Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest!

Last time on Succubus Lord Quest, we finished up Amanda’s meeting with Dean Beck of the Miyians, getting her to agree to at least send a spokesperson to a meeting with the other current Succubi Leader heads at some point in the future to yet be determined. After which we had a little heart to heart talk with Brooklyn’s sister, before asking Brodin for shopping advice!

And as with a new semester comes new times! I’ll be running the quest (or at least trying to) on Monday’s and Tuesdays from now on!

Also the second post was an ugly post with lots of eyesore text, which is now all compiled here!

And also a snowy opening pic, as I felt like it.

You groan as you roll over the next morning after your party. You did drink in moderation, but you can feel the slight pangs of a hangover coming over you.

“How lucky are the Succubi who have that supernatural constitution...” you mutter directly into your own pillow.

It takes a few more seconds to wake yourself up, but you slowly manage to do so over the course of a few minutes. Getting up with a large yawn, stretching your arms while readjusting the shoulder part of your nightgown.

You head on over to the window of your room to get a good view of the bustling day outside. People are getting ready for the bustling activities of the day below all in the dim light of the dawn. You wonder for a second how the others are doing after your little night o-

You barely have time to register the flash of light coming at you directly through your window, stepping aside as the thin beam of light melts through your window and also part of your bedroom door.

“What the hell is this!?” you exclaim, taking a step back from shock, you barely have time to even think before another assailant bursts through your window a second later, armed with a knife in his hand. Quick as the luminous white cloth he’s dressed in, he lashes out at you with his dagger. He lands a blow on your forearm, but the cut isn’t too deep.

Well this isn't a good hangover cure

darkness tentacles tie down mister knife then hurt him. Make sure to warn our friends.

Is Brooklyn clothed? Is axe handy? We are in melee already, so no time to fuss about with illusions. Summon up some darkness tendrils and use them defensively while we size up the opposition. Also, PROTECT HAT AND TEA.
>>
>>29494739

Yes Brooklyn is indeed clothed at the moment. Nightgown, but certainly clothed.
>>
>>29494784
At least we have frills!

You waste no time in summoning up your darkness tentacles, quickly aiming to try and impale the assassin while you quickly make a bolt towards your axe hung up on the wall.

The ninja seems to dodge most of your darkness tentacles with an inhuman grace. Lashing at you once again and this time making a small cut along your own backside, but at the same time you manage to peg him directly through the left arm.

As soon as you grab your axe, another laser beam fires through the window area. This time you’re ready for it and hold your hand out, dispersing the beam into multicolored fragments of light.

Just as you’re getting your hopes up for fighting only two opponents, you can see another opponent this time crash in through the wall and directly onto your bed. This time a rather tall, imposing looking knight in Silver armour equipped with a gold tipped mace.

You don’t know why, but just looking at this knight is beginning to make you feel a bit woozy... Son of a bitch, he must have some sort of anti-demon aura.

(Brooklyn feels sick!)

You decide to do the next best thing and just fill the entire area with soligram explosive clones. The clones quickly materialize, but it is only half a second later that the sniper laser blast fires once again, hitting one of your soligram clones. Because they’re tightly packed in this room, an explosion rips through your room. You’re thrown directly out and through the door, landing through another door directly across the hall.

“...Madam Brooklyn! Normally I’d say to knock before entering, but I knew one such as you could not resist my charms.” Alex says from his bed.

As Alex says this, the armoured knight strides out from the wreckage of your room, seeming to be virtually unphased from the attack as indicated from his smoking armour.

“...Ah, now I see why I didn’t stand a chance. You prefer large knight archtype, don’t you?” Alex replies as he reaches for his weapon.

“Morning Alex. There are three of them. That knight, some sort o-”

Before you can even finish that statement, the white dressed assasain from earlier bursts into the room, crashing through the window as he attempts to go for your back.

Alex is quick to stop him, grabbing his sword and hitting the assassin directly in the stomach. However Alex had no time to properly take the blade from the sheath, so the assassin only goes tumbling to the floor. All while the man Alex had for the night quickly grabs the blanket and cowers up against the wall.

You react immediately by summoning a batch of darkness tentacles to impale the knight directly, but only to see your tentacles actually melt upon impact against the holy armour.

“...Oh yes, a lot of demons like to use darkness, so darkness magic really doesn’t do that much against him.” Alex warns you.

“OH NOW YOU WARN ME!” you protest as you fire off a laser blast from your palm, only to strike what appears this time to be the knight’s shield, the shield glowing red hot before the knight discards it to the ground, undoing the buckles and throwing the now worthless shield behind him.

As the knight continues to move both, he’s stumbled by a wave of force strong enough to rip up the floor and damage the walls.

“Get out of our house!” Erika yells from down the hall.

Seeing as how your options are a bit limited here, your best course of action is to try and fall back, at least to a range where you won’t be hit by these damn melee users.

You quickly get up, bolting out of the door and dashing down the hall towards where the floor exit is, making sure you’ll have a good getaway. The knight swings at you, but he’s off balance enough by Erika’s attack so that he only tears off another piece of your nightgown.

“I was bringing some breakfast for you all and I heard this n-” Wilhelmina freezes in her tracks as she sees an armoured knight locking weapons with Erika while you’re in a tattered nightgown.

“...What in the name of Pur-”

“LOOKOUT!” you say pulling Wilhelmina down, just managing to make her dodge a laser beam that tunnels through the wall, guessing that the sniper estimated your position. Either this sniper has an excellent sense for guessing location or you’re dealing with someone who can see through walls.

You hold out your hand, firing another blast of light directly at the knight while his back is exposed to you. The shot has enough impact to actually make him topple over on Erika, his back glowing a red hot color from the laser blast.

“Get off my master!” Leona can be heard, taking her mace and swinging it so that it lands square on the knight’s head, sending him off of Erika and partways into the wall.

“Wilhelmina! Put down the food and go after that knight! I’m going to deal with the sniper!” you tell Wilhelmina.

“On it.” Wilhelmina replies as she puts down her food. She mutters some strange words before snapping her fingers, a small orb of faint blue light around her as she then rushes off to the knight.

You get up on your knees, holding your hand out as you look at the shot the laser used to tear through the building. Old TO is a populated place, so you can’t use your explosive magic haphazardly. Rather you take your time lining up the same angle that the laser used to come in, making your own small adjustments as you take a deep breath.

“Attack tried to hit me at 31 degrees, I should adjust so that I’m at... 38 if the building is the next one over...” you say before you fire your laser, the blast burning through the building, heading towards the opposite side of the street.

The sniper responds shortly after with another blind laser blast, this one wizzing directly past your shoulder, at least an entire meter off.

Meanwhile the knight seems to recover, grabbing his mace and giving it a mighty swing to the side. Erika manages to barely dodge it, but Leona is hit dead on in the side, the poor girl being partially implanted in the wall from the mighty hit.

“HOW DARE YOU!” Erika screams, her own sword glowing a bright green before slashing it down upon the knight, rending both the wall and the knight in a solid blow.

The white assassin jumps out of the room that Alex was in, coated in cuts as he holds tightly onto the spot you pegged him on earlier.

“Come on, don’t tell me you’re already tired out. I myself was just getting started.” Alex mockingly says as he runs a finger along his blade casually, walking out of the room in his birthday suit.

Down the opposite end of the hall you can see another figure walk up the stairs. This creature appears to be a humanoid statue carved out of living obsidian itself. The body being that of a well-muscled but otherwise nude male while lacking the primary sex traits. It’s eyes however seem to burn with a golden light while a bright golden halo can be seen above it’s head. It has four arms in total, each pair of arms touching a fist in a pair above it’s head and one near it’s stomach.

What follows shortly after is a loud sound akin to a blaring horn. The shockwave coming from this being ripping up the entire floor and walls as the shockwave rips through the hallway. As it does, both Erika and Wilhelmina and flinged back along with the shockwave, the knight and Leona staying embedded within the wall.

Alex sees the wave coming and quickly jumps back into his own room, but the assassin makes another lunge at you, uncaring of the shockwave that seems to be heading directly toward you both.

You quickly open up your hand, emitting a bright flash of light directly into the eyes of the assassin. The lunge of the assassin seems to become nothing more than a uncontrolled tumble, landing on the metal railings nearby.

You quickly tumble out of the way from the incoming blast afterwards. Ripping though the concrete that you were under just moments before and blasting the assassin directly in the behind. As the assassin rips through the metal guardrail due to the sheer force, you notice that instead of his body falling down the stairs, it instead floats upward a tiny bit, vaporizing in a white flame before disappearing completely.

With all of the heat, you decide that it’s best try to cloak yourself. You throw up a large orb of darkness around your current location, making some it also extend to the outside of the building to block the sniper’s sight somewhat. It seems to pay off when the sniper fires another shot, this time being no where near your current location.

“YOU’RE BEING TOO LOUD!” Mina says charging out of her own room, also in her own underwear as she brings her fist back behind her.

The Obsidian angel turns to face Mina, that horn sound once again blaring loudly directly in Mina’s face. Mina’s fist struggles against the invisible force, but she is eventually thrown back and through the wall of her own room.

“Hell with this.” you say holding your hands back, charging up a full powered Iskunder’s orb to throw at the angel. After gritting your teeth to maintain the orb stability, you throw it directly at the large angel on the other end of the hall.

The knight however seems to see the orb coming, gladly leaping in the direction of the orb before it explodes, seemingly consuming the entire center of the hallway. You’re forced to throw your own arms up in defense, trying to block some of the debris that speeds towards your direction.

When the explosion is over, you lower your arms to see that the knight itself is completed annihilated. Not even a trace remains as also a part of the floor and ceiling have large holes blown in them. On the other side of the room, the angel still stands in all of it’s majestic glory.

“...Damnit...” you mutter to yourself.

As you do, a loud bang echos throughout the area. Most likely Sebastien has taken care of the sniper for you, and probably woken up everyone within a block.

As Leona pulls herself out of the wall nearby, she notices the nearby angel finally. A light seeming to go up on her own face, she quickly scuttles over to the angel, getting on her hands and knees while her hands go up in prayer.

“Oh how I’ve longer for the day that I’d be visited by a divine agent of Celestia itself!” Leona merrily says towards the angelic figure.

“LEONA NO!” Erika calls out with an outstretched hand before being pulled into a nearby room by Wilhelmina.

The sound of a horn can be heard once again, the force hitting Leona point blank as it rips through the damage wracked remains of the hallway. You also dive out of the way as well, the shockwave of invisible force not toppling the concrete wall, but putting massive dents and cracks in it. It’s easy to dodge, but if you get hit by that shockwave, it will hurt.

As you look down the hall, you can only see Leona with a stunned expression on her face, all clothing ripped from her body due to the shockwave as she apparently took the hit dead on.

Ada materializes from behind the Angel while Troy seems to come from a dark section from above, both of them slamming their daggers into the angel from behind. Ada’s ice daggers seem to break immediately upon the creature’s skin, but Troy’s daggers manage to land a blow at least, golden blood leaking from it’s wound before starting up tiny flames from the ground it stands on.

You know what? Screw this. You’re sick and tired of getting ambushed every few days. You want some peace and quiet, and also a house that isn’t torn to bits every time some sort of bad situation happens!

“Ada! Troy! Get everyone out of the hallway!” you yell down the hallway as you stand in the center, holding your hands back behind you, a orb of light coming from your hands.

Not seconding guessing your orders, Ada grabs Leona before leaping through the door. Troy himself also backs off, leaping back upstairs just as a ray of light from the angel’s halo just barely nicks him on the way up.

“Alright you bastard... LET’S SEE YOU TAKE THIS!” You roar as you let loose the ray of light from your hands, it tearing though the hallway directly towards the angelic target.

As the angel turns its gaze towards you, the horn noise is heard once again, blasting towards your pillar of light and meeting it dead on. The invisible force of sound being met by your beam of light in the middle of a deadlock.

You grit your teeth as you widen your stance. “TURN INTO LLLIIIGGGHHHTTT!!!” You roar as you increase the power of your beam, the power easily encompassing the entire hallway and even the doors, blasting through the force blast of the angel and hitting it with all of the magical might your body can muster.

You probably have the right idea in killing vs. escaping, but don't dance around torture/mind-scans. Just say it if you're going to say it.

“Are we sure that we got all of them?” you ask.

“I did a mental check myself, I don’t sense any more angels nearby.” Sebastien replies.

“Leona! Is Leona OK!?” Erika asks leaning out of Alex’s apartment.

“She’s find. Her incredibly durable body and her wind control seemed to take most of the damage.” Ada says as she slowly glides down to Erika, holding a nude and dazed Leona.

“Oh Leona!” Erika says giving her cousin a large hug as her eye wrapping is a little damp with tears.

“...WOW! WHY WOULD ANGELS DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!?” Mina yells as she emerges from the wreckage of her room.

“...More like what do we tell the Pride Demons...” you mutter.

“WHAT?” Mina yells back.

You’re now in a small problem here. The Pride Demons are going to be coming literally any minute now and they’re going to want to know what happened here. If they learn that the *human* Fort Hope Court Mage is actually a Succubi... Well you’re pretty sure there will be consequences. Unenlightened humans cannot do spells like that nor is any spell on your official known spells list close to the spells that you used here today. The only person who has a spell similar to your Final Buster Spark is Wilhelmina’s sword beam. Wilhelmina also being registered to you as a bodyguard could indeed make things better, but that still leaves a reason to why the attack happened in the first place.

This, we should also contact them ourselves to complain about the church.
>>
They wanted to murder the Rage demon. If we hint at her ancestry that will provide all the cover we need.
>>
>>29501448
That gold dragon kid could speak on our behalf that he's been been meeting with us (might make things seem more legit). Beyond that, I'm thinking a fight between two parties that basically spilled into this (that gunshot would suggest a third party). Beyond that, they bashed into here and started fighting everywhere, Wilhelmina used her sword attack to make them LEAVE. Everyone is extremely flustered and scared, and why is Old TO like this? The Pride Demons keep everything running perfectly, so how can terrorists who the Church were fighting be allowed to do this?!?

If anyone else has something to add, feel free.
>>
>>29501448
Do the pride demons know that Brooklyn Browning is the owner of the place? If not we could all change our appearances. Maybe say that we were woken up by them and a group of demons (make some up to describe, if necessary) who crashed through wall, already fighting. We did our best to stay hidden during the fight, and thankfully the other demons left after Celestia's force was defeated.
>>
>>29501448
We need Aether NOW so we aren't drooling during the interview. Mina is a good first choice, here, but we must act quickly.
>>
>>29501711
As said by sandact, Wilhelmina is registered as our bodyguard and we've been regularly seen with the rest of the group. Us not being there would be suspicious.

In that case yeah, something like [>>29501703] would be best

“First things first, we’re going to tell them the truth. The buster spark I used will instead just be Wilhelmina’s sword spell. She’s a registered battle mage, so at most we’d be charged for the damages since she acted on my behalf. KYON!” You yell out.

“Yea?” Kyon asks, leaning out of his room with a piece of bread in hand. “I hope you didn’t expect me to go up against a high tier angel like that. That thing was probably nearly archangel class.”

“What!? An Archangel!?” Erika gasps.

“WHAT!?” Mina yells out.

“No! Kyon means the lower class of archangel, that which leads angels! Not to be confused with the capital A Archangels, who rule over nearly all of Celestia!” Leona says puffing her chest out with pride.

“Um... Leona your clothes...” Erika says pointing to her.

Leona seems confused for a second, before blushing red as a Beat and trying to cover herself. Too little too late, as you indeed saw at least one angel is still around and not trying to kill you.

“But won’t the Pride demons find it odd that angels attacked us?” Kyon asks.

“Yes! Which is exactly why we’re going to use their public against them! Ada! I need you to go get those reporter Gemelli! Aria and Lita!” you tell Ada.

“What makes you think that I’d know them!?” Ada asks.

“You know why! Because you know everyone in the city!” you reply.

“...Look I only know they live on 58th Peach Tree as a coincidence.” Ada replies.

“Then go and get them! You’ll have the advantage of saying that Fort Hope nobility would’ve been evacuated as soon as the attack begun!” you tell Ada.

Ada just signs as she spreads her wings and heads towards a window. “Fine...”

“As for me... I am getting aether, as it is absolutely revolting getting turned on by Alex, much less any male!” you protest as you spread your own wings, gliding over towards Mina. “Have Amanda go down there as well, she handles special cases like this.”

You land near Mina, who walks over to you and gives you a tender hug. Which is strange as usually her hugs are very tight. “WOW! I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT THAT! MY BODY STILL FEELS SORE ALL OVER JUST FROM THAT ONE ATTACK!” Mina yells.
>>
>>29502272
Probably because it was a holy attack straight from an angel that was designed to fuck up demons.
>>
>>29502272
Once we have enough aether, change back to Brooklyn form and send an imp to contact the pride demon, better make them think we've just been attacked and we are trying to inform them.
>>
>>29502446
i'd rather not send an imp that could possibly be traced back to us, lets fully play up the victim card here, and besides, we could use the extra time of them reacting to get here to start repairing some of the damage and get fully fueled, and maybe make Mina stop shouting

You simply place a finger on Mina’s lips. “No talk. Brooklyn hungry.” you say leading Mina deeper into her room.

******

The meeting with the Pride Demons goes better than expected. With Kyon’s testamony as a golden dragons the Pride demon diplomat that arrives cannot pass off the angels as being some form of demon. Amanda and Alex also lay onto the ambush very thickly, condemning the Pride Demons but at the same time supportive of the current structure. The tension is even worse for them because not only are Lita and Aria there as reporters, but also an entire group full of human, Envy Demon, Laminian, and Gemelli reporters within the area. The Pride Demon diplomat has no choice but to show a heavy amount of face here.

First he congratulates Wilhelmina on a job well done, and that the Pride Demon diplomat’s house will pay for half of the damages incurred from Wilhelmina’s attack. Second is that the floor that was rented, being of Fort Hope nobility, shall have their rooms relocated to a station ‘more befitting of their status’. Lastly, the Pride Demon diplomat announces not only an increase in security, but a crackdown on Celestia for the act of terrorism they tried to commit. He reminds that while the Pride Demons may rule, people under their rule are free to act however they please in accordance with their laws. The wide scale brainwashing of Celestia *will not* be tolerated in this location.

“All’s well that ends well.” you say to Mina as you share a glass of wine with her.

“Indeedy do!” Mina says taking a bite from the cinnamon bun that Wilhelmina brought in from earlier.

“Brooklyn! Brooklyn! I got a few questions for you!” Lita says knocking on Mina’s window as she flies in front of it.

“Didn’t you get enough of a story today!?” you ask Lita.

“Actually we did some digging on you and found some... worrying things.” Aria states with her own arms crossed.

“Browning Browning Browning... I knew I heard that name from somewhere. So I did some digging. ...Truth happens that Rand Browning is a senior lecturer at that Celestia sponsored church downtown, the one with the rumour of a hero being there. He also had a son named Brooklyn Browning.” Lita says with a smirk towards you. “I took the liberty of asking your uncle and sister. The former was happy to see my tits while the latter talked after two gold coins. Rand is indeed your father and you his ‘son’. The only problem I see here is that his ‘son’ has pair of tits and an enlightened energy pattern.”

“Care to comment?” Lita asks with a smirk on her face.

"I found an old world trap while exploring some ruined structures up near fort hope, it changed my gender, the enlightenment came at a cost I am unwilling to share."

This. It's why we went from Tutor to Court Mage, now that we can throw magic around.

>>29503354
"That my father left me and my sister in the northern wastes with us believing him to be dead while he runs around making a cushy living off of lecturing for the church as a 'hero' shows you that No, I would not like to comment."
>>
>>29503465
Enlightened humans are like wizards, they have to study HARD to be able to throw spells around. So lets not mention that we can?
>>
>>29503671
Though we are a scholar. Studying is what we do, everybody knows that, as well as that we can cast magic since we're court mage. Why should we not mention it?
>>
>>29503762
Because the relative power levels would generally be that right now we're a tenth level sorcerer, while we technically should be a level one-three wizard with barely any spells (one for luck positive or negative, one for summoning imps, and another for questioning fate in a simple and brute-force manner). These take time and effort to perform and cannot be cast on the fly unless we're far more powerful then we should be.

It's one of those things that isn't talked about much, unfortunately, sorry.

My suggestion is reading some of the past threads. There's a few things about this quest that aren't always explained (I'll ask Sand to create google doc faq for new players) like how no one is supposed to know we are a succubus, because they're 4th class citizens (humans being slightly higher but still fucked, rage and gree demons on T2, and pride on top, because they clearly deserve it).

Sorry if it felt like I was biting your head off.
>>
>>29504160
I've discovered the during the first thread, but always via the suptg archives as I've never managed to be on when a thread is, but I've read all the threads and have been following from the start (hence why I was so excited to make it in this time), though anybody who's read even one or two of the threads would've picked up on succubi being lower than dirt on the hierarchy.

Not at all. You explained why I was incorrect in a reasonable manner

>>29504325
It's just that I can be very arrogant at times, and I'm trying to tone it down to something far more reasonable.

>Another fight where we had no chance to use our long range skills
I'm starting to wonder why we're even training them, we were outshot by everything we met and/or we spend the fight dodging then having to go into close combat anyways. And that's when we do any visible damage. Meanwhile the DP cost reduction for being a lord and the DP cost reduction on Magic for being an Okarian still sit at "Well Lord learn stuff quicker" and "Learn magic at a faster rate compared to other demons!" while the first one likely give us more DP than our companion the second one has no effect.
Then we have the purchase system, oh god the purchase system, did you know that if we started using a bow and wanted to become awesome! in it, we would only have to spend as much as we do for getting a single basic magic? It's almost like sandact is trying to be passive aggressive because we didn't go battlemage.
>Buying magic control
Not even once.
>>
>>29505674
Well anon, we have a very specialized set of skills, and the irony here is that said set of skills actually is countered by getting in CC with us. So, we can continue to specialize, or we can cover our ass with some basic defensive and evasive skills, while still specializing.
>>
>>29505674
>>29505909
To further build upon my post, what I'm saying is that we have entered Sand's magical realm by acting in this thread.

The up-side of this is that the world is semi-realistic, so we can use certain things we know about enemies against them. For instance, we can create some special attacks to counter melee, and we can train up dodge (as well as possibly getting a staff or polearm/spear/something defensive) and still specialize without just going battle mage.

It just means we have to think about what we have available, sneak a peak at various other character sheets and consider the possible combinations they get, watch some animu for more ideas, and then use said info to our advantage.

We barely got hurt in that combat, mostly because our magic just flat-out trumped whatever they had prepared for us in power. With some space and fate control, we can minimize the power and maximize the efficiency, along with giving us more defensive and offensive abilities (Fate Control will allow us to have more dice rolls per action, among other things).
>>
>>29506029
Also, we're fighting in a city environment, on the ground. So yeah, close spaces will be primarily what we face. Our combat where we saved Kyon showed off our ranged skills (if also showing how we need to work a bit more on our ability to defend ourselves).
>>
>>29505909
>>29506029
No, you don't understand how much the system fuck a pure magic user over.
>Fully getting a single weapon from nothing to Awesome!+mastery level 3

>Counter level 2: 225xp
>Toughness: 120xp
>Awareness: 75xp
Total 2895xp
Exponential a shit
>>
>>29506597
Thing is, with a control at Awesome, we most likely could blow up a small town, possibly even a city if we had the aether. Controls may exponentially increase in exp cost, but they also exponentially increase in power.

Now, what you just suggested would construct a fairly decent soldier with the ability to heal themself and do a couple of amazing things. But honestly, if we hit them with an Iskunder's Orb, they'd be fucking dead. And that's right now. At Good, Iskunder's Orb is a small building. So at Great, a block, at Awesome...you get the picture.

Now, obviously, we don't want to murder everyone, so with power comes yadda yadda. But frankly, you've just given us some great material to work with here. With dodge to awesome and a few other things, we can easily shrug off hits in melee.

So thanks mate, we don't even need to get Battle Mage with your suggestions.
>>
>>29506693
>What is die hard?
>Allows the user to survive nearly any blow by the brink of death and is still able to take actions.

>While it homes in on the opponent, it is fairly slow and can be shot down.
You're overestimating Iskunder and magic control power.

The way I look at it, the system doesn't fuck magic users over. The cost of those abilities you listed? Magic gets their own set of abilities and also a whole bunch of other things. It's far more flexible than getting the normal skills.

At least the way I see it.

Anywho typing up an update before making a store run.
>>
>>29510641
i see it that way at all

being great with a sword means youre great with a sword, people you get close to while you have a sword better watch out

being great with darkness magic means youre great at creating darkness to blind others with, making giant tentacles that can manipulate all sorts of stuff with enough strength to throw around busses, impale dozens of people at the same time and even passive stuff like see perfectly in the dark

there really needs to be a higher cost for that sort of thing, the way its set up

"I found an old world trap while exploring some ruined structures up near fort hope, it changed my gender, the enlightenment came at a cost I am unwilling to share." you reply.

“Oh! An Old World Device I see! Then why didn’t we see that many enlightened people during the time around the Old World?” Lita asks you as she writes something down on her notepad. “See, here’s what I believe. I believe that, somehow, you became a Succubus and quickly exploded up the ranks in Fort Hope because you could cast magic.”

“No comment.” you quickly reply.

Lita grins as she listens “But see when you came here and started making a bit of an impact by talking to both the Laminian and Belkarian leaders? Once is coincidence, but twice is a situation. When they found out that one of the teacher’s ‘son’s’ for their new and precious hero is a demon? I think they didn’t want that, as such a thing would be bad for their squeaky clean image. So they sent that hit squad to try and clean up this little mess. Of course there’s always the possibility that your father yourself sent the angels t-”

“GET OUT!” you roar immediately upon hear those words, dark shadows flicking about your body.

“Oooookay! I knew something was off about you the moment I met you Brooklyn, and I’m going to keep going and see where this rabbit hole goes!” Lita says before gliding off.

Aria however steps up to the windowsill and looks into the room. “Look I know Lita may seem to be a pain in the ass, but the detective work really excites her. We’re just people trying to make a coin here, and unlike Lita I can see your martial value if you were able to fend off a Celestian hit squad. All I’m saying is that let’s try to work something out before a fever pitch for both sides is created.”

With that, Aria jumps off of the building and follows Lita shortly after.

As you sit back down, Mina rests her hand upon your shoulder. “Brooklyn, I’m sure there’s an explanation to why your father is doing all of this.”

You give a small sigh as you sink back into your chair. Every part of you as Brooklyn wants to deny that your father had any involvement on this attack as part of principle. At the same time, your realist side cannot deny that he could’ve had some sort of hand in it. That very thought makes you far more ill than any of the angelic auras you felt from earlier. If what Lita’s theory about the Celestia attack is right though, it’d certainly explain why such an extreme unprovoked action against you was attempted.

Mina sees you’re depressed, and decides to try and change tactics. “...So did you see the size of that Lita girl’s tits!? No *way* those things are her natural size! But I can say that your uncle was a very lucky man!”

>Oh! An Old World Device I see! Then why didn’t we see that many enlightened people during the time around the Old World?
Because aether was still a secret. Duh.
The device was probably built by a Miyan to get past not being able to enlighten people the normal way with the ritual. It's not like they were mass produced. It's a totally reasonable and definitely not pulled out of our ass explanation.

“Let’s just have some breakfast, get it so that we’re all calmed down, before heading out and doing our daily activities.” you say with a sigh. Your mind is still having some human thoughts, thinking that normal food will make you fuller, but even after your time with Mina you still only feel a bit above a third full. “God damnit... Feeding as a Succubus is far more complicated than a mortal at times...”

“Hungry and horny are often the same things to a Succubus!” Mina says in a cheery voice.

You just simply glance at Mina as she says that.

“...No seriously they are! My brothel madame said it was because the Succubi in the past who were promiscuous were the ones who fed most often had sex. Then again the madame generally tied sex to everything. She had an odd outlook on life.” Mina replies.

“Still, let’s just get some eggs or something at a nearby restaurant.” you reply getting back up.

After getting changed into your clothes and a quick fix up by Leona, you all head over to a nearby restaurant, and you begin pondering what you want to do for the rest of the day. There meeting the Gemelli leaders left, also that meeting that Wilhelmina said she wanted to take you to the Okarian Library for in order to meet the Okarian sub-groups such as Wizards or Witches. Or anything that you fancy.
>>
>>29511761
You forgot the visit to the church of Pamille sandact. Otherwise my vote is on the subgroup even if our character sheet already has us listed as a sorcerer as was decided the first time we had that damned discussion with our study group.
>>
>>29511860

Derp, yes the church is also an option here as well.
>>
>>29511761
I thought we were told not to meet the Gemelli leaders because the secret would get out?

We should find somewhere to fill up the rest of our aether and then go investigate our father. Strike while the iron is hot and they haven't had time to put together a second assassination attempt yet.
>>
>>29511761
Lets do the Okarian subgroup meeting.
>>
i would like to see the okarian meeting too

after that we can go find out about daddy
>>
In regards to the Celestia issue, we should get a normal mortal to deliver a message for our father requesting to meet at a out-of-the-way location. We have our allies set up positions for the obvious not-our-father, but if he is there, then we can discuss things civilly...

We also need to arrange a long meeting with Aria and Lita to either disuade them, or provide them with a sufficient cover story... though we could always attempt to recruit them...

>>29511761

we should avoid the Celestia church at the moment as the Pride Demons are probably operating around there...

I suggest that we go do the subgroup meeting...
Maybe get Erika and Leona to look into the Church of Pamille... Leona does need a slight change in faith... and from the sounds of it, the CoP fits in with her personal ideology...
>>
>>29511954
i dont know if leona is a good idea for that, she has some very unrealistic ideas about the church
>>
>>29511954
Recruitment would be as simple as selling them on the idea that something big is happening, and if they're with us, they'll get front-row coverage, as well as a set of personal interviews about our exploits. Possibly even about events that we aren't comfortable with, but things we should talk about.
>>
>>29511761
First, summon an imp to deliver this message to the Sabotas in the way that was suggested that is both descreate and will get them: That we made a mistake in using our mortal name to register with the Library, and if they can change it to (insert name here), along with a few slight physical changes that will throw others off.

We should talk to Leona about her experience with the lower Archangel, possibly with Brodin if she'd like to talk to him. She'll be feeling shaken after this attack, and she'll be reevaluating everything.

We may want to contact Janine and ask her to reconsider her views on human slavery (this is something I had thought of doing), but I don't want to do something that others don't feel like doing.

Finally, the library for a specialty is a good idea. See if anyone wants us to borrow a few books for them. Oh, and when is our next study group meeting?
>>
“Let’s head to the library after this Wilhelmina. I want to meet those speciality archtypes of the Okarian’s right away.” you tell Wilhelmina.

“Just let me finish this egg with sauce.” Wilhelmina tells you.

“...You have more mustard on that than yoke.” you reply to Wilhelmina.

******

About a half hour later, you arrive at the library, handing your coat over to the coat check before just looking over the side and staring at the mountains upon mountains of books along with a simple content sigh.

“Inquiry, where should we head to first Brooklyn. There’s the Wizards who specialize in rituals spells, Sorcerers who specialize in controls, and the Witches who specialize in magitech.” Wilhelmina asks you.

“Why did you leave out the battle mages?” you ask.

“I assumed you didn’t want to be a part of them due to your aversion for any sort of morning exercises that involve lifting anything heavier than a book.” Wilhelmina replies.
>>
>>29512565
"Well you have me there."

Then let's head over to see the sorcerers.
>>
>>29512565
"I resemble that remark. Sorcerers first"
>>
>>29512565
"H-hey, you're forgetting the amount of energy it takes to truly understand a good book! And it's not like I can't handle a weapon. I should at least talk to them, if nothing else."
>>
“You have me there.” you reply to Wilhelmina. “Anyways let’s head over and see these Sorcerers first.”

“They’re almost always down in the firing range. This way.” Wilhelmina says as she leads you down to the firing range section.

******

As you head down to the firing range area in the library, you can tell that the firing range remains as busy as ever. Multiple explosions can be heard bursting over the landscape, chunks of buildings being torn out bit by bit. Wilhelmina leads you out and around the area of the booths before coming up to a seemingly private booth in the back.

“Entschuldigen Sie Fräulein.” Wilhelmina calls over to a Succubus who appears to be talking to some other Succubi.

Wilhelmina and the other Succubus talk for about a minute in a language that you cannot understand, the only thing you do understand is Wilhelmina saying her name. The woman that Wilhelmina appears to be talking to has a blue coat with white wolf fur edges on the coat along with a pullover had with white wolf fur edges. Simply being near here makes the weather feel a great deal colder as well. Her eyes appear to be a deep blue while her hair appears to be a short, blond colour.

After about a minute of talking, the woman walks over to you, looking you over before extending her hand. “Inquiry, you must be the prospective Sorcerer that Wilhelmina was talking about ja. My name is Griselda, a Sorcerer whose job is to often scout and educate new Sorcerers. Please forgive me if my english is a bit rusty.”

"Do not worry yourself. All will be well." you say taking her hand. Even though she’s wearing winter gloves her hands feel cold to the touch. “Delighted to meet you Griselda, I'm Brooklyn Browning."

“Pleasure to meet you as well Lady Browning. Inquiry, what can I help you with.” Griselda asks.

“I’m not sure if Wilhelmina mentioned this, but I grew up in the backwoods area. Would you mind explaining what the sorcerers are all about?” you ask.

“In a nutshell Sorcerer’s are mainly about using controls, more common amongst demons than enlightened mortals. Wizards are often more concerned with ritual development or theoretical knowledge, while we often concern ourselves with the practical applications of magic. We teach all of our recruits how to use magic power to the fullest extent possible, rivalling even the strongest of ritual spells. We’re also far more flexible than the other groups save the Battle Mages, which Wilhelmina tells me you’re not interested in joining anyways.” Griselda explains.

Hopefully she didn’t mention the morning exercise bit. “Pardon if I offend, but I heard that Sorcerer’s tend to have aether problems.”

Griselda hesitates for a second before replying. “Yes if they constantly go full out all the time. We teach our users to be efficient in their spell use yes, but most people tend to throw caution to the wind and use high power control spells to constantly get the desired results. It’s taxing on your aether pool to do it constantly yes. The Witches have more efficiency for their magics, but lower overall power as a result. Upon coming in, we’ll also teach you a bit of magic for free.”

(For joining Sorcerers Brooklyn gains Aether Burn plus a choice of any control from nothing to average or one spell ranked average or good to Good or Great rank)

>>
>>29513760
>Good to Great rank
Tempting, Sand. Although getting another control just flat-out to Average would be interesting (I assume you don't mean advanced controls).

"Efficiency is something I am currently actually learning to get right, and I can see why you would teach recruits to be efficient with the difficulty of gaining Aether as it is. Your offer for training is also highly tempting, as I have recently found the training of my controls to be something to be measured by a calendar, rather then a planner. None the less, for such an important decision, I think it best to look at all my choices, just in case, before I make my decision.

Thank you for meeting with me, Griselda, and no matter my choice, I hope we can both learn something from each other.."
>>
>>29513893
Average is still an extra roll which isn't bad.
>>
>>29513913
This, we need more info. And if our prospective instructor is a cunt, best to tease that out now.
>>
>>29513926
That, or Light Control to Great. The free DPs, they are tempting.
>>
>>29513926
Right, but you have to consider DP costs. Nothing to Average costs (200 + 50 (2)^2) *.8 = 320
from good to great costs (50 * 4^2)*.8 = 640
One is clearly the superior option long term.
>>
>>29514013
>one spell ranked average or good to Good or Great rank
I don't think that's a control but something like the annihilator beam, unless sandact changed terminology for no reason in the middle of his sentence
>>
>>29513760
>>29514105
A Control or a Spell, Sand?
>>
>>29514383

Annhilator beam is a unique magic that Brooklyn knows. It's a unique spell that's in limbo between Control and ritual spell.

“But of course. Only fool runs into something without checking the alternatives.” Griselda replies. “I’ll be here for the rest of the day if you need me for anything.”

“Thank you for meeting with me, Griselda, and no matter my choice, I hope we can both learn something from each other.” you say about to offer a handshake, but instead Griselda seems to give you a hug before letting go.

“On to the next one then?” you ask Wilhelmina.

“Just say where you want to go and... Inquiry. Brooklyn are you cold.” Wilhelmina asks.

“Your buttons.” Wilhelmina says.

You look down confused, seeing nothing wrong with the buttons on your clothing, but it’s only upon close inspection that you realize the cold weather and the fact that you decided to go braless today because most of your underwear was blown up or given to Leona (who thanked you but also mentioned it was a bit small for her).

We're fine, but more pressing matters are at hand.
We must study. There's been too many attempts on our life and an insane amount of keikakuing that we're doing here. We really need to sit down, study, and grind that sweet sweet DP.
>>
>>29514732
"Apparently I am. Seems I may need to purchase some new underclothing."
>>
>>29514798
Supposedly we can guide brooklyn's character such that he is no longer the buttmonkey. Supposedly
>>
So, if we join sorcerer and get light up to great we still have 504 DP if I assume correctly the DP list being Spent/Total

We could get Fate to average (320 DP) and boost Space to average too (160 DP)
>>
>>29514912
Or we could spent the DP on Social skills such as Persuasion and Seduction.
>>
>>29514912
Didn't catch that, nice going mate! I'd suggest we get the ability EN Save, which will reduce our aether costs by 20%, for only 200 DP. Kinda a steal, I'm sure you'll agree. Also, Quick Learner (reducing training times and possibly allows training things earlier and somewhat easier) for 175 DP is something to consider, along with our Persuasion (only basic), our Aether Theory.

As to getting Fate to average, training times are a thing in this game, so I imagine it'll take a few threads (in addition to finding a tutor or a book to learn from, and learning alone with the Space Control book gives us a headache as it is, even if it is a great book).

So yeah. So many things and so little time, but with the amount of social contact we're having, Persuasion being only at basic seems like a flaw we need to correct (getting it to good at least sounds good, never underestimate Quick Learner or EN Save either).
>>
i think sorcerer is pretty much what brooklyn has always been doing and is by far the best choice, is there any reason to go to the other places at all?

rituals? magitech? meh

>>29514881
but buttmonkey brooklyn is entertaining
>>
>>29515179
He's annoying as hell
>>
Here's what I want:
Light to Great!
Seduction to Good!
Persuasion to Good!
Sexual arts to Good!
Quick Learner
Leaves us with 135 DP that we can either use to upgrade more skills or save for EN Save
>>
>>29515027
Fate at average gives us several boon actually and we never had a problem with our aether supply during battle yet Aether burn is optional. And while it might take time to train them we'd now have good access to trainers being part of an official sub-class.
Fate at Average (320) is a no brainer, an extra dice roll, better chance at critical and the Hex on opponent are a necessity seeing what we fight.
Since I can't defend Space to average due to having no clue as to what it does. Persuasion to Good (75) is a fine Idea, though I'd get some level into AHR UP before EN save due to those being cheaper. As for quick learner it really depend on if it affect DP earn rate/spending or only the downtime to learn something.

“Benefits of getting all of my clothing destroyed AGAIN. Also, the weather seems a bit chilly for a library, wouldn't you agree?” you ask.

“Well she didn’t turn off her cold aura for some reason.” Wilhelmina replies.

“It just means I’ll need to go out and spend an afternoon buying new underwear *again*. Let’s just work our way up at this point. Whose the closest group to us now?” you ask.

“That will be the Witches workshop. The Queen Oksana put them on the lowest floor for safety and noise concerns.” Wilhelmina says as she leads you back up the stairs into the library.

******

The witches group seems to be their own sealed off little area within the library, behind a large thick steel door. As soon as you come into the door, the first thing that is assaulted is your sense of smell. Very strong metallic scents mixed with chemicals can be smelt from all over, a large collection of both private workbooths, alchemical reagents, and a small personal library can be seen across the wide open area. Along with the sounds of pounding metal, it’s no surprise that the witches were confined to work within this area.

“Wilhelmina, it’s been too long.” a girl in a blacksmith’s apron and large goggles on her forehead says as she walks over to Wilhelmina, giving her a hug.

“Been rather hectic for the past bit. Sorry about not wanting to join the witches.” Wilhelmina says returning the hug.

“That’s fine. I had a feeling that you had your mind set on being a battle mage since you first step foot into here.” the woman replies. “Who’s your friend.”

“This is Brooklyn Browning, and it just so happens that we’re here to see if she’s interested in being a Witch and wants you to sell it to her.” Wilhelmina explains.

The blacksmith girl remains still for a few seconds before replying. “S-sorry. I’m now really giddy about introducing a new member.”

“I can tell by your voice.” Wilhelmina replies.

Tell by her voice? How the hell can she tell that!? As far as you can tell she mentioned no emotion in it!

“My name is Brooklyn Browning.” you say giving a small curtsy. “Pleasure to meet you Ms....”

Oh, I know that, and I agree we should get Fate Control. It's just that Light Control is double the DP.

EN Save has the bonus of making the Aether we gather go farther, so it's a lot like a bonus on gathering and spending aether. This could be highly useful for us.
>>
>>29515609
especially since at some point we're going to need to start feeding the queens.
>>
>>29515638
I'm pretty sure we had to beat articus and beat the Pride demon expedition before thinking of freeing them.
>>
>>29515501
Why is Spiderman in that picture?
>>29515638
It would be nice to have them be fuller when they get out.

Mainly what I'm thinking about here is that for 200, we get 25% more Aether for magic AND the Aether gathered that is used for magic goes 25% farther. Most of this is due to Brooklyn's insecurities with physical

I assume, however, that they're not completely empty, and if we can free them silently (instead of breaking the prison, creating a door in it), a few plays in Fort Hope will go a long way for them.
>>
>>29515705
Feed, not free, they're going to need a lot of power before we break them out or the pride demons will kick their ass the second they find out they're free.

"Hello, Xiao Ming. I was wondering what could you tell me about what being a witch entails?" you ask.

“But of course. Witches are an offshoot of magic users who wish to apply the magical arts in a more scientific sense. We feel that the Wizards are too stuck to the old ways. Instead of making anything new, they just constantly cling to the old books of magic while hardly making anything new. We witches however feel that innovation is a good thing, and seek to understand magic and how it can be applied by using scientific theories on the principles of magic.” Xiao replies.

“Isn’t that just the Miyians?” you ask.

“We are similar, but we fill different niches. For one we’re still more flexible than the Miyians. We still have our magic controls. Witches are also known for making very good magical weapons and armor. Miyians do it very well yes, but people confuse their super science inventions with actual magical artifacts, when the two are actually quite different. We also teach every Witch the basics of magical science in whatever category they wish, such as mathematics and physics, engineering, or chemistry. We’ll also teach you a bit about magic controls of course too.” Xiao replies.

(Brooklyn gains: Chemistry/Engineering (Artifacts)/Physics to good (or to awesome if already good), items allow Brooklyn to use medium cost controls for light aether cost (Rituals are not affected by this), can select one control to go from nothing to good or from basic to good)

Unless you ask for something truly rare like a Tarrasque tooth, we have pretty much any kind of resource you could possibly want.”

“Why is the witches group so unpopular?” you ask.

“That’s mainly because many people today see no difference in magic or technology these days. But magic is seen as something more mysterious and known to those properly educated. Technology is seen as something for the fool who rushes headlong into everything takes. There is a certain risk in using new technologies, but we believe mass enlightenment is better than elite few taking the reigns all the time. This disrupts the demonic ranking system too much, so in theory people don’t like it all that much.” Xiao replies.

Interesting. It’s true that the very idea of an unenlightened mortal killing a demon for a ranking is an alien thought to most demonic rulers, so perhaps the reason they attacked the Old World was because it was so technologically advanced?

“Thank you for meeting with us Xiao. It was a pleasure to meet you.” you say doing a small curtsy.

“Likewise.” Xiao says as she returns the same Curtsy.

******

Heading over to the next area, you can see what appears to be an odd site. Rows upon rows of plush red seats parked in front of a large Amphitheater. There are stand hands up on massive stage, many of them drawing small spell circles on the stage while others are using darkness tentacles to put up decorations. Above the seating area the normal library remains, though far more tables can be seen around the railings to the amphitheater.

“Time delayed spells for stage effects.” Wilhelmina replies as if noticing your confusion.

“This is a rather impressive stage. But isn’t it odd having a large, wide open theater in the middle of a library?” you ask.

“There are spells to make sure the sound from plays do not travel that far. The amphitheater and plays are a very important part of Okarian culture, and because the Bards control the theater, they have a rather influential voice within Okarian politics.” Wilhelmina states.

“Interesting. So who’s the spokeswoman for this group?” you ask.

“That’d be Ciara McCormick over there.” Wilhelmina says pointing at a woman sitting in the row of seats, currently reading a script. Her hair is a bright red while her skin seems to be dotted with freckles.

“Let’s go and introduce ourselves then.” you say making your way over to Ciara, moving your way through the seats before heading up next to her. “Excuse me, are you Ciara McCormick?”

“Aye, but aye’m a wee bit busy at the moment ‘ere lass. If yer lookin fa autographs you’d best try afta’ a show.” Ciara replies with her thick accent.

"I'm here because I'd like to know about the Bards, what they do, what training is given to them, and so on. I think it's one of the things that's overlooked or misunderstood about Okarians. Our culture, history..magic is more then just flinging spells around. People forget that even Science is an art, and magic is no difference. What differentiates a Bard from another Okarian?” you ask.

“In all honesty? A passion fer the arts. There is education yes, but we also understand that what truly makes a civilization a civilization is the culture, and the arts in a way define that culture. We Okarians not only seek to preserve the history of our caste, but do so in ta medium of song, dance, and plays in addition to just the history books. We also play as ta face of ta Okarians, doing most of the diplomatic assignments as well.” Ciara replies. “But the steps of bein’ a Bard is a wee bit tricky. Barding school is not for ta faint of heart. While we do teach about history, we also give a general education about everythin’. Some folks can’t keep up with that.”

“I assume you do the same with magic as well?” you ask. “Apologies for mentioning magic like that.”

“Don’t be. Yer right about there bein’ more ta us than just magic, but magic is indeed our birthright. We do tend to focus moreso on ta social aspect’s of magic for Bard’s in general, but fer Okarian’s we specialize in the innate social magic’s that nearly all Succubi have. You’ll be very well versed in all Succubi social magics by the time yer done in Bard school and have the mundane skills to back them up. Lastly we offer ta chance to learn the various Bardic rituals that help yer allies in battle with the power of music, but that’s mainly optional. Many Okarian’s are happy ta stick wit ta native magic’s.”

“Hm...” you say leaning back in your chair.

“And since it *always* comes up in nearly any conversation, yes. We do indeed have classes on how ta have sex.” Ciara replies.

“I guess the stereotypes on Bard’s sleeping with everything that moves must be false then?” you ask.

“Oh no. We do have some ‘pure’ Bard’s, but our reputation for that is indeed something we joke lightly about. If anythin’ da Succubi Bard’s sleep around far more than any others as we control our fertility cycles.” Ciara replies. "Bard's are not just Okarian too, but nearly every clan has their own Bards. Except Okarian and Ayarian Bard's are ta ones in high demand."

Actually, the benefits of Witch are basically Space or Fate control to Good & Medium Aether spells (10% of our aether currently) go down to Light (negligible use of aether). And we get an RP skill up to good/awesome. And we can make magic weapons/armour.
>>
>>29519067
Witch lets us make *magic* gear, and on top of that lets us spam most of our spells for cheap. If you want to avoid the science/magic hybrid, I'd suggest Bard, as that fits best with our long term goal of becoming the ruler of Earth and uniting the various demon tribes.

Meanwhile, the sorcerer specialization just gives us a boost to what we already have and can achieve under our own power. It's completely worthless as our choice of school.
>>
>>29519177
Sorcerer would most likely be Light Control to Great (Solidigrams can't be harmed physically, Light Form, one other thing I forget), Aether Burn, and special cool stuff for our custom spells.

Bard will give us social skills, the +10 skill bonus to everything (that allows even untrained skills to be used), and two social schools trained up (that will probably have a few added bennies of their own/special additions).

Basically, any spec will have something cool for us.

The woman gets up and rather than walking, literally seems to hover over to you. Her nightgown is a deep red colour which contrasts against her black skin and hair. After she floats over to you, she seems to look you over before turning to Ludo. “This isn’t my study partner.”

“No, but your date is *right* here.” Ludo says leaning back in his chair.

You ignore Ludo by extending your hand to the woman. “I may not be your study partner, but my name is Brooklyn Browning and I’ve been looking into joining one of the Okarian clans.”

“Pleasure to meet you Brooklyn. My name is Red, and I take it that you’re interested about being a Wizard.” Red asks.

“Absolutely.” you reply.

“Then this way please, out of earshot of Ludo.” Red says.

“You’ll be back baby, you know you will.” Ludo says relaxing back in his chair.

“So why don’t you tell me what Wizard’s are about?” you ask.

“A long time ago when the only two forces that existed in reality were the dark and light, the darkness and light formed sentience and eventually formed their own servants, demons and angels. It’s during this time that the true age of discovery began, one filled with miracles and levels of magic that we could only dream of. Using the very Akashic Record, they recorded incredibly powerful spells within the very fabric of all known realities. Unfortunately the demons and angels went at war and much of those magical techniques were lost. Ideally, any Wizard would love to recover this so called ‘Beginning’ knowledge, but we’re mostly content on using the Akashic Principles to figure out new magics that the ancients left or find their spellbooks.” Red explains, sitting down in a chair next to a fireplace.

“I’ve heard about it, but what is the Akashic Record?” you ask.

“The Akashic Record is a record of everything that exists within the world and has existed. By using the Akashic runes, one is able to inscribe powerful runes into artifacts, and indeed anyone remotely interested in making magical artifacts will learn these runes at some point. The Akashic Record also holds the key to literally all magic that is theoretically allowed to exist in this universe.” Red explains.

“...Wait if it has all the spells, why do we bother with spellbooks?” you ask.

“Because it’s complex. The lower levels of it is where basic cantrips exist. The higher levels contain more powerful spells, but also more complex language. The language runes used by higher tiers are often made up of several characters from lower levels, in the most extreme cases a single rune being that of an entire novel’s worth of characters. Demons often spend decades just trying to figure out one rune at times. Because this is so time consuming, many Wizards often try to find books of the ancients who have successfully decoded these runes. As the last thing you wish to do is get a rune wrong and end up summoning a beast from the Neather Realms.” Red explains.

“What are Wizards expected to know or do?” you ask.

“At the very least know an Akashic based language such as Latin and about... 2000-3000 symbols, which we’ll teach you. This should let you identify most magical items and translate the majority of magical texts if need be. In terms of magic, we offer harmony and stability within our own sort of magics. Our spells are more dependable that what you may find of the Witches or Sorcerer’s and are harder to dispell. In addition, people who become wizards are free to browse the ritual books which since the Wizard’s contributed the lion’s share of the books in the library, we have first privilege to. Lastly we’ll help you increase one of your controls up to a higher level. Rituals are nice, but as Okarians we do encourage that our members develop one control at least.” Red explains.
>>

Turn on Aether sight before he says this.

[3/3]

(For join Wizards, Brooklyn gains the unique skill of Wizard Magic [Spells are harder to dispell and have less negative backlash it has any], five free rituals spells of your choosing, and the ability to make a one shot stored ritual of any control or non-melee unique magic [This increases the power of the spell, makes it cheaper, and harder to dispell, but can only be used one one spell. Yes you can decide to change spells, such as storing fireball one day then Moonblast another day], and lastly a control can go from nothing to average or from Average/Good to Good/Great)

And I think that will be the end of the thread for now as I need to get some homework done. Voting for which subclass to be can be done now.

Oh yes, and for the Sorcerer, since I forgot the LAST thing. Sorcerer's get Aether Save (-20% off all control spells). Lessens the sting on Aether Burn, but still allows for some spammable spells.

While Wizards are interesting I'm not a fan of rituals. Except if they allow us to destroy a church.

Bard has potential and I think I'd like witch if it focused more on R&D rather than item creation.

Let me do a bit of math and I'll work up some DP options for everyone.
>>
Huh, I just thought of a loophole (sort of) if Leona ever finds out about us and Amanda (us and anyone else and we're probably still screwed).

1 - we were originally a man and thus the relationship is no forbidden love between women.
2 - the church doesn't marry demonesses so that restriction doesn't apply.

Not sure if that will of anything for our brand of polyamory...
>>
>>29521227
I'm pretty sure Leona doesn't even acknowledge woman/woman relationship as something that exist.

Sorcerer
Light to great (free)
Aether save (free)
Aether Burn (free)
Fate to Average (320)

Ranged Spellcasting Accuracy to great (45)

I see no reason why Brooklyn would train seduction and/or sexy time at this point of time.
>>
>>29521550
I'm always extremely leery of adding additional controls. Also, we need seduction because of how difficult it is to get Aether in this town. Also, I want them for RP reasons.

I like this personally, though I'm somewhat partial to boosting the socials even higher.

Just look at Wilhelmina page to see what Fate at Average gives us. But notable abilities are.
>3 dice roll instead of two
>By naming a desire and completely surrendering to Fate, the user is then guided by fate towards a listed action, Fate seeming to use just the right moves at the right time.

>>29521619
Fate Control will give us more damage or less aether usage, additional rolls (we're at highest of first 2, average would give us highest of first three).

Wait, hold on. Is Aether Save -20% flat out or 20% off of the percentage cost for spells? I.e., are medium spells (10% normally) 8% with Aether Save or negligible? Of course when you have spells with very high costs, such as 25% or 50%, the bit of aether one can shave off isn't that bad.

>>29523872
While having a 36% or 40% savings (depending on how they stack, if they do at all) on all controls sounds amazing, it's not as good as it sounds. It means that if we cast a 50% spell, we can cast it at most three times instead of exactly twice, and a 25% spell at most six times instead of four. You're getting 1.5x the number of spells out of your mana poll, where as the witch discount nets us effectively *infinite* 10% spells. Oh, and you can still get a 20% discount on all spells as a witch, anyways.

Witch is not only more flavourful, it's mechanically better.
