Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.

YOU ARE LOLI,

You appear to be getting into the habit of waking up in a different place to where you fell asleep. This time, you've woken up in the ruin of an old wooden house, when you definitely recall falling asleep on Kris' back as she carried you out of the tunnels where you almost died, alone in the dark.

When you try to look about to get your bearings, your vision is filled with a face very, very close to yours. "Aha! Feeling better now?"
Oh, it's just Kris.
"Aaw, back to just being Kris now? What happened to 'Momma'? I could've gotten used to that. Eheh~ just kidding."

You start to push yourself up, and Kris puts an arm around you to help you sit up. It seems you're in one of a small collection of ruined houses sat atop a steep hill overlooking the entire river area. From here you can see the bridge and gas station, Skadovsk, and even to the station where you saved doggy from the evil men.
Turns out everything's actually a lot closer together than it all felt.
The Sun is pretty high in the sky, so you'd guess it was probably somewhere around lunch time about now.

Inside the house with you, Kris is sat next to you, beaming her usual smile, while Vasilisa and the other rookie are sat a few feet away. Vasilisa's eyes are lazily scanning the surroundings, while the rookie is looking uncomfortable, his eyes flicking to you before flicking away to look at nothing in particular.

We need to look out for our juniors. (although everyone around us always seem to die)

Because it is fun reading about someone who has absolutely no idea what they are doing blunder their way through life threatening situations. Relying only on luck, a positive attitude and murdering people.

Also we should start calling Kris onee-san or something. We need to start working on our cuteness so that people stop shooting us on sight.

They have angered the Loli. They must suffer.

Unless the snorks ate them, then its all good.

"So, uh, what happened back there? You know, with the bandits and stuff?" You direct the question to the group in general.
It surprises you a little when Vasilisa is the one to reply. She locks eyes with you, the faintest of smiles tugging at the corner of her mouth. "I did," she states simply. "Then you did. Nice kick, by the way." The smile tugs at the other corner of her mouth at that.

Kris giggles, before giving you a better description. "They kept trying to rush your position, and Vasa just kept on dropping them. It was amazing how they kept just running through the open like that! They really wanted you dead!" Her expression momentarily goes serious as she states this, before softening again as she resumes the tale. "Heh. And then you did that kick thing. 'I'm motherfucking GILTINE, bitch!' Ahahaha!" Her laughter bubbles through her mock impersonation of you, and it's a few moments before she can collect herself. "That grenade went right back into the middle of them! You should've seen the look on the merc's face when half his squad got wiped out in one go!"

Vasilisa's mouth still seems to be attempting something like a smile, while the rookie is looking between you as if he doesn't get the joke.
Kris continues on, "then you fell in the hole though, right before the blowout hit. That one took us by surprise! We had to high-tail it while the bandits were trying to finish you off. You'd best thank the rookie here though that we happened to choose the same cave as you! We didn't even know those tunnels were there until he told us we should take cover in them."
>>
>>29533679
You fidget where you are, and feel a whole lot of aches throughout your entire body. "Oh, don't try to move too soon," Kris says, concern thick in her voice. "You took a hell of a beating. It'd probably be fine to just rest up for the rest of the day."

[ ]"Rest up? But what about the medical supplies?"

"Rest up? But what about the medical supplies? We still need to get them back to the-"

The rookie interrupts you. "I can take them back for you."
The three of you turn to face him. "Well, I mean, I'm heading that way anyway, and I kinda owe you three for the whole breaking me out of a hostage situation and stuff. And... what happened with Niko... It was unfortunate, but I know you tried your best. And you got hurt for it, badly..." he trails off with a pained expression.
"A-anyway, yeah. I can take them back. And I can ask around about the attack, too, if you want. 'Cause I don't think it's just me that is curious about this whole thing. I mean, two teams of rookies to carry one bag of medical gear that had to be traded for up north, and both teams just happen to get attacked at the same time as soon as you join them? Something's off, and I wanna know what."

Kris nods happily. "Okay, that's sorted then! You can take the stuff while Giltinė rests here.

The rookie stands, picking up the bag and readies himself to leave. "Alright, I'll be off then. If you ever need help, don't hesitate for ask me. Just ask for Kay. And don't worry, I'll definitely be letting Beard know how much you helped! All of you."

Kris and Vasilisa share a look, before Kris looks up at the rookie again, her wide and toothy grin somehow looking predatorial instead of joyful. "Yeah... about that. We'd prefer you to not." A quiet rustle, and Kris' pistol has appeared in her hands resting lightly in her lap. "Like, really prefer that you not. See, you're the first man to actually survive meeting us since we got here. And if Loli wasn't here..." She looks at him in askance.

Kay pales, before nodding vigorously. "Right, got it, okay. So it was just Giltinė that helped me, right? Yeah. I can tell them that."
He turns on the spot and marches quickly away in the direction of Skadovsk.

What was that about...?

"I was hurt pretty bad, right? What did you do?"

Kris' features crease into a frown as she takes your
"It's actually pretty simple. See, the bullet here," she gestures at one of the bloodied gauze dressings on your chest, "went straight through your ribs and punctured your right lung."
And it's at this moment that you realize you're wearing nothing but your panties, besides the gauze dressings and some bandages.

Huh, no wonder Kay was trying to look anywhere but at you...

Kris continues. "That meant that every time you were breathing in, air was filling your chest instead of your lungs and it made your lung collapse. I jabbed you with a hollow needle when I found you, and that drained the air out. You should be fine so long as you rest up for a day or two. We'll need to keep an eye on you in case the lung collapses again, but all we'll need to do is drain the air out again."
She looks back to what she's doing. "Other than that, it's just these little cuts and scratches from your fall. I'm just cleaning them out a bit and covering them up. The rest is going to be aches, pains and swellings that will go away with time."
>>
>>29534123
"...Why are you being so nice to me?"

Kris stops what she's doing, a look of utter confusion in her eyes. "Eh? What do you mean, why?.. What else are we supposed to do, let you die?"

"...Yes? Anyone else would've."

"Oh, so now you're calling us 'anyone'? Hmph." She pouts grumpily at you, before returning to her work, a little more roughly than she was before.

"That... doesn't answer my question."

"Oh. Did it not?" Her tone tells you to stop pressing this particular question.

Across the room, Vasilisa is smirking at you.
>>
>>29534331
Maybe they really do just want to make friends. If they keep a no dudes policy, finding Loli would definitely be interesting to them. We should thank Kris-chan.
>>
>>29534100
"Okay then. How about telling me more about you then? You could just be anyone for all I know. You've only told me your names..."

"Ohohoho~! Getting all friendly now, are we?" Kris gives you a toothy grin. "Well, that is something fun to talk about, isn't it! Me... I'm, well. My story's pretty boring. My family weren't too nice, but the boy across the street was. I fell in 'love', and he comes up with this smart-ass idea that we should run away to the Zone, where we can live however we want. He steals a pistol from his folks, then comes begging me to join him. So I come with him. Get to the Cordon and he goes and gets himself caught by the patrols! I was already across the line, and so I ended up stuck here on my own!"
"Vasa though, her story is awesome! Her Daddy was apparently some big-shot hunter. Teaches her everything there is to know about shooting things, then gets himself into some trouble. Decides his only way out is to go into the Zone. 'Course, Vasa isn't having that, eh?" Vasa makes a noise you assume is an assent. "So now Vasa's here, being all broody and dangerous looking, trying to find her lost Daddy. If she hadn't stumbled across me when..."
Her eyes darken for a heartbeat, before she skips whatever she was going to say.
"So now, I'm helping her on her quest!"
>>
>>29534454
Kris finishes up fiddling about with your various cuts and bruises, before looking up at the sky. "Aha! Lunch time~!" She turns away to rummaging about in her sack as Vasilisa perks up at the mention of food.

Kris' head cranes back, chest heaving in silent laughter. Vasilisa raises a single eyebrow at you. "Chocolate. For lunch. Hmm."

Kris' laughter subsides, and she manages to breath at you that it's the pork steaks you cooked during breakfast together. You frown at this, before struggling to stand yourself upright. "I demand chocolate! I demand that we find chocolate for lunch! We shall loot it if we must!" you inform the party.
Kris hops up in front of you, making your chest-puffed, head-tall pose somewhat less commanding when she casually stands a few inches taller than you. "Alright then. If you're so insistant, we can go look for chocolate to loot if you'd like, but first! I insist that you put some clothes back on."

You puff your chest out again and raise your chin. "I shall remain as I am, for I am how I shall remain! Now," you point in a random direction, "let us go forth and hunt for the chocolate together!" As you begin to walk out of the ruin, Kris places a heavy hand on your shoulder. Through her stifled laughter, you can just about make out that she's indicating that you should begin your search in the other direction. You about-face and march out in the indicated direction, head on a swivel looking for anything that might hold valuable loot.

Kris stuffs the food back in her ruck and makes to follow you, with Vasilisa idly collecting up everything else you left behind.

As soon as you get to the end of the road, you see why this was the direction to search in. You're once again at the bridge, the sight of last night's ambush. The corpses are all still fresh and un-looted.

Looking at the bodies of your assailants, something tells you that chocolate will not be found that way. The bodies in the bridge, however...

You make straight for the charred remains of Kay, and quickly run your hands through his stuff. Some spare ammo, basic survival equipment, an energy drink... Percival is not much better. Erec, however, is laden with exactly what you were looking for. The rounds that went through him also went through his pack, rendering most of his stuff holey, but still edible. He's got three whole bars of chocolate! A quick shuffle through the rest of his bag also gives you a few magazines that would probably fit your newest looted pistol, and one that would fit Kris' rifle. You toss them to her, and she also makes a point of taking Erec's un-opened water bottles. You also note that Vasilisa is doing the same for every other corpse in the area. Looting nothing but their water bottles.
You make a point to ask about this.
>>
>>29535420
"Seen any fresh water taps about here lately, Loli?" She smiles bitterly at you. "It's been alright for you. Every time you've needed something, someone's been there to help you, huh?" She looks away, awkwardly, then starts walking down to help Vasilisa.

You head over to the other side of the bridge to loot the other bodies. As soon as you reach them, there's a rustling in the bushes next to you. Reaching instinctively for your weapons, you realize too late that you're not actually equipped with... anything at all.
As you quickly look about the ground for anything you could use, a heavily armed man with a grizzled-looking visage comes clumping out of the undergrowth next to the road. He freezes the moment he clocks eyes on you.

You stare at him, un-moving.
He stares at you, un-moving.
His eyes drift down to take in your full form, then back up to your face.
"D'ya know what? No. I'm done. Fuck this, I'm going home."

He brushes past you and continues walking into the distance as if nothing had happened.

You wait until he's well past you before you make a move, returning back to the girls. Kris greets you warmly as you approach. "Got what we came for, then?"
You nod happily. Now...

You head back up the hill to the ruined village, intent on having that lunch break. Once everyone is settled back into their places and Kris has brought out the pork steaks again, you breach the topic of your clothing once more. "Kris-neechan... where exactly are my clothes, anyway?"

"Ah..." Her face stiffens, her lips tight. She sort of looks like a parent who is about to tell their child that their bunny rabbit got eaten by a fox last night

...It's not reassuring...

"See... the thing is... the reason I had to take them off in the first place..." She reaches into the depths of her bag, and pulls a bright red strip of cloth, placing it gently on the floor. Then a dark black rag, half-torn through down the middle. She places this next to the red strip. A second rag, in a familiar blue. She places this, too, on the floor. And together, the three pieces line up to make something resembling a dress.

Ah... There must be some dust in the air? You're not sure why else your eyes would be watering like this...
>>
>>29535640
I get what you're saying, but that is hardly any more respectful then leaving their corpses out for carrion. What we oughtta do is write down their names, light a candle for them, leave a stone beside the road to mark their passing.

You're not really listening as you sit down quietly and start to open one of the bars of chocolate. The only clothes that have fit you since you got here. And they didn't even last 24 hours... You idly wonder if Beard's client will still pay you, as you bite into the chocolate bar. Somehow, the taste doesn't even surprise you right now.

The rest of lunch is a somber affair. Vasilisa simply eats for the sake of eating, while Kris takes a few more attempts to try and cheer you up a little bit, but you're receptive to none of her approaches. She gives up after a while and dejectedly eats her own steak. You power through the rest of the bar, determined to at least get something of value from this, even if it's just an intake of calories. Once you're done, you open your Hello Kitty backpack and pull on your old over-sized cargo pants. A quiet question directed at Kris, and Vasa hands you back your pistol that she'd been keeping... somewhere. Well, the one plus side of these over a dress is that you can store a pistol in your belt more comfortably than in your pants. Neither of them seem to know what happened to your rifle.

You inform the others that you're going to head down to Skadovsk for a bit. "I get it, if you don't want to come with me. But you'll wait here, right? I'll only be a little while."
Kris smiles weakly up at you, and apologizes again about the dress. You tell her it's not her fault, and start to take your leave.

As you're about to step out of the ruin, a thought hits you, and you turn back to the pair. Vasilisa is unscrewing the cap from a bottle of water, so you wait for the opportune moment to ask the question that just popped into your head. "Are you two lesbians?"
She immediately spurts her mouthful out, spraying Kris in a coughing fit. Remarkably, Kris keeps her calm as she gets drenched, before fixing you with a stare. "You know that part in my story where I had a boyfriend?" You nod at the answer, then turn away and head towards Skadovsk.

Way to state your opinion as objective fact even though I gave room for it. Are you illiterate or do you just skip every other word when someone disagrees with you?

The guard on the top deck seems to give you a longer than usual stare as you approach the boat topless and disappointed, before he returns to his short patrol route humming tunelessly. You're also greeted by the usual response in the bar too, of everyone glancing around once quickly to see who's entering, before returning to their business. Except that the entire bar does a spit-take, and turns back to stare at you as you cross the bar to Beard. You feel your cheeks start to burn as twenty sets of eyes follow your figure.

When you reach Beard's bar, you struggle to try to meet his gaze, not wanting to see his disappointment in you at having lost his dress without even having worn it for the required 24 hours. When you finally do lift your gaze however, you find that he's pointedly looking anywhere but at you.
"I'm... I'm sowwy, Beard. Some stuff happened last night and... and..." you can't finish your sentence, and opt instead to simply place the ragged remains of the dress on the bartop, tears pricking the corners of your eyes.

"Ah, ehem, well." He reaches below the bar and pulls out a large towel. "Would you mind putting this on while we talk?" You take it willingly, and wrap it around your upper half.

He gives a hard stare across the rest of the men in the room, who grumble before turning back to their tables.
"Right, now that you're sort of decent we can talk. Actually, you don't need to worry about the dress, girl. The client was more than satisfied. Even more importantly, I seem to have found a new market in the Zone... the photos of you sold out in moments, even at extortionate prices! If... if you wouldn't mind posing again for me, I would be more than willing to cut you in on the profits. I even already have another dress lined up for you right now."

He tilts his head at you, raising both eyebrows. "Well?"

"Kay!" you exclaim excitedly, "I'll do it! What am I wearing this time?" Beard is somewhat taken aback by your immediate and unquestioning acceptance of the deal, but he quickly recovers and reaches under the bar to hand you a new dress.

"Same rules as last time, I think. Let me take some photos, then wear it about for twenty four hours. Then you can come back here and I'll try and have another outfit ready for you."

"Un~!" You nod your assent, before hopping into the back corner below the stairs to once more change into something that simply shouldn't be found in the Zone.

This time, well... you're not even sure it should be called a dress. It's a one-piece vest that ends at mid-thigh, with a black leather belt that serves no obvious purpose running about the midriff. The base layer is a pristine white, whilst the neckline and flanks are layered in scarlet trimmed with baby blue. The front and back are decorated with black lace, and the shoulder and hem are lined with white frills.

The set also comes with a bright red beret with a white feather at the front, a pair of white-and-red elbow-length gloves, and knee-high steel-toe-capped white boots again trimmed with red. And thankfully, a pair of white shorts to go under the skirt.

It takes you somewhat longer to don all of these than it did your one-piece dress. However, it also feels somehow comfier and easier to move in.

You skip back over to Beard to show of your new outfit. "Hmm..." he ponders for a few moments, "it's not quite perfect yet. Aha! The hair!" he exclaims. "Right, uh. Now, for this to work you're going to need to have short, red hair. We could go with a wig, or we could cut and dye your hair. Obviously that would limit what you could use your natural hair for in the future, but it might give better effects for this one costume..."

A camera flashes from the bar behind you.

"A wig for now," you tell him. He hands you a wig of short red hair tied bunches. You bundle up your own longer hair and pull the wig on, fumbling it into place. Once more, you strike a pose, you leg kicked back behind you, arm outstretched as you pull a mock salute at Beard. The camera flashes behind you again, and the sound of more being drawn fills the room.

Beard nods once, satisfied. "Yes. Perfect." He pulls his own camera from his pocket, winds it, and starts taking snaps as you once again start running through a set of poses that your captive audience seem most excited about. A couple of the onlookers are brave enough to call out your name, and you turn to face them, giving a special pose just for them as you smile at their camera lens.
"Two minutes~!" You inform the crowd that their time to photograph is limited, and continue to twirl about in the middle of the bar.

"One minute~!" you call again to the room at large. Just as you're beginning to get ready to stop, however, the door to the bar is flung open loudly. The entire bar goes silent, all attention off you as they turn to behold the walking corpse in the doorway.
It stands there, staring directly at you.

"Erec... you're alive!?"

"Damn right I'm alive!" he yells at you across the bar. He takes a few paces forward to place his hands firmly on your shoulders. "Thanks alot for leaving me there, rotting in the sun with a goddamn hole in my back! Woke up with some rat trying to eat my legs!"

You're stunned, able only to reply in a murmur. "We though you were dead..."

"Oh yeah? Did you even check!?"

"Uhh"

"Yet managed to take all my ammo, food and water. And how about a proper burial? Too much work for you?"

At that, one of the men on the table closest to you mutters under his breath, "note to self: Do not get injured and pass out."

"Yeah, good luck with that one," Erec sneers, before letting go of you. Beard, brink me a drink. Christ, let's see how much the Doc'll charge me for this."

As he leaves, Beard summons you over once more. "Right, well with that interruption out the way... I've got all the snaps I think I'll need. Now, keep that on for a day while I try and get the next set lined up. A question first, though, which color would you prefer?
