>What is this? The King of Fighters Quest is a developing Choose Your Own Adventure-style quest in which you take on the role of Katja Hartkern, an Austrailian Aborgine practioner of Kyokugen Karate and guide her towards joining a team/preparing for "The King of Fighters: Infinite Match".Decisions are made by voting, with the first option to earn up to three or more winning; Combat choices are made via Rolls, with the highest roll or average out of the first three submissions winning. (These rules also apply in the case of multiple options with Rolls.) In the event of a tie in regards to combat options, the option with the most votes wins, with NO ROLLING after a Tie has been declared.>Previous Thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29512178/>Stats Page:http://pastebin.com/TaehTeQ0
>>29580936>Summary:After checking out of the Kagura Clinic (The hospital you were in previously), you met up with Ryo & Yuri Sakazaki in the lobby, as well as meet Marco Rodriguez for the first time. Following that, you and the rest of your fellow Kyokugenryuu Practitioners headed down to the dojo in a van that Robert Garcia rented for "A Small Party" to celibrate the expanded presence of Kyokugenryuu Fighters in the upcoming "King of Fighters: Infinite Match" tournament. (As well as said van having a private police escort lead by "Blue Mary" Ryan.)After a heartfelt chat on the ride over to the dojo with Yuri, you privately confronted Robert over their relationship (Socking him in the stomach before coldly telling him "Look mate, I know it wasn't your fault and I know she's an emotional fuck up... And I know that you love her deeply, and that she loves you all the same." "But if you EVER make Yuri cry again as bad as she has? For whatever reason? I'm going to BREAK you. That understood?") before heading inside the Dojo... To find that the "Small Party" was, in fact, an initiation cerimony of sorts with "Mr. Karate" acting as the MC and the best Kyokugenryuu students from around the world in attendance (Sho Hayate of Savage Reign "Fame" being one of them). After a short, rather odd speach, "Mr. Karate" started to read off a "Roll Call" for the students that were to become "Disciples" (No mean feat)... And heard your name called up first Overlowing with excitement at this sudden surprise, you wanted to show off by attempting to perform the powerful and dangerous move in your ever-expanding aresenal: The Denjin Haoh Shokuo Ken. However, though you were somewhat successful in performing the move, you ended up damaging yourself hard enough that you electrocuted yourself into yet-another coma, though this time, there weren't any dreams to keep your mind company...
>>29581421>>29581546Instead, you woke up around a day later in the heart of South Town's "China Town" district under the care of Dr. Lee Pai Long, an old friend of Takuma Sakazaki's (Nee "Mr. Karate") and a well-known "Sennin" famous for finding a cure for hemroids... After explaining that you had damaged your vocal chords in the incident back at the Dojo, Lee had been intrusted to help unlock your "Hidden Potential" and clear your body's pathway for harnessing Ki energy; The catch being that you had to stay a week living above and working in Lee's business downstairs, "The Sleeping Dragon Pharmacy".With no other options and having a burning determination to return to tip-top shape as soon as possible, you agreed and spent a misadventure-filled day working "Early Shift" as a sales clerk (Which had you meet up with some of the more, shall we say, "Colorful" memebers of China Town and watch a street fight that had you ponder yoor dating habits), Lee was able to dramatically increase the rate of your recovery by administering a small portion of "Dragon Pills", an illegal "Street Drug" that his "Regular" clerk had been smuggling and selling through his shop (All against his knowledge, of course!).Relieved and physically fine, you told him in a weak voice that you wanted to head back to the Dojo to continue your training in earnest. Reluctantly agreeing to your request (But also pencilling you in for a few more accupuncture appointments to try and break through the blocks that your body had built in regards to harnessing Ki), he called up the Kyokugen Dojo and Ryo Sakazaki came to collect you on his Motorcycle.Te following ride was a bit of a confusing one for you, as Ryo started talking about how you "Need to go out more, maybe find somebody else?", clearly talking about his sister Yuri as he pulled up in front "La Illusion", one of the best restraunts in all of South Town.
>>29581619After telling him in no uncertain terms that no, you didn't think of Yuri like that (Telling him "Listen... I like Yuri OK? I train with her everyday, I spar with her, I give her a shoulder to cry on... I consider her to be my best friend." "But I. DO NOT. LOVE HER. Not like that at least..."), you headed inside for a drink... Only to find Yuri, Robert, Terry & Andy Bogard and Mai Shiranui waiting for you, Yuri explaining that this was part of what was planned for later the previous night (Before your "Accident" at the Dojo).Taken back by Yuri's remarks, you nervously hung around with some of the true legends of South Town's fighting scene and found that, just like you, they were relatively "normal" and started to relax a little... Until you noticed "The Man in Black" (Andrew Draco) barge in unnanounced, his body covered in cuts and brusises. Your blood may have froze when you recognized Draco at first, but curiously he didn't seem to acknowledge you and simply wanted a pint while he waited for a friend of his (Kazunori Kazahaya, who you had met earlier that morning at Lee's Pharmacy) to pick him up. After the non-event with Draco and Kazunori quieted down, Terry suggested that the group should head off to The Pao Pao Cafe (As King was going to start prepping "La Illusion") and you agreed, the group (Along with King, you used her influences to take the night off) arriving in time to catch a fight between Kaphwan Kim & "Ultima", a Female Wrestler you immediately recognized as Fiona Graves (A "Reall Nutter" of gal you shared a drink with at The Pao Pao Cafe 2 across town). After seeing her go through a tough loss to Kim, most of the people at your table chipped in various nuggets of wisdom and then Toasted to upcoming KOF...===>Days until the Start of The Infinite Match: 20===Which leads us to a decision:>A. We've got another match coming up in a little bit, but right now let's give a BIG round of applause to our houseband for the night, Red Cadillac!"You hear a few cheers of applause from the crowd, but most of the people you see are too absorbed with themselves to mind as even without music, the atmosphere and noise of the Cafe's practically electric and makes your hair almost stand on end as you see Kim head over to your table, Terry greeting him with a friendly hug and a fist-bump. "Hey Mr. Justice! Been a long time!" You hear Robert say as Kim smiles warmly, replying "Indeed it has! Do you mind if I sit here for a moment?" Kim replies, shaking Terry's hand before heading over and pulling a chair up near Andy as Robert nods "Yes".A part of you wants to chew him out for seemingly not understanding that his opponent might've been acting, but the opportunity to pick his fighting brain is too good to pass up; "How was it like fighting her ot there? It looked like y'had you're work cut out for ya'.""She... Was an interesting opponent, for sure." Kim confides before admitting "While I couldn't match her blow-for-blow, I could feel that somewhere in her dark heart lay the spirit and zeal that could blossom into a true warrior of justice someday..."
>>29583076A part of you wants to laugh at his words 9As you feel that you know Fiona enough to defend her actions), but Kim's expression shows that's he's deadly serious about this...>A. >>29583444I admit. I laughed.>>29583516One bet on:We get super hotheaded, insult Kim's honour, imply Fiona has more justice than hem, and then shit goes to hell.I hope that isn't what happens

>>29583197>>29583362You want to try and talk him down and ask him what "Justice" really means to him, but you can't hide the rage in your voice as you tell him "Look, she's a Pro Wrestler Mate; Se plays a bloody character as part of her day-to-day job. Do you know her outside of fighting? Do ya'? No, you don't... So who're you to say that she's got an "Impure Heart" or some shit?!"The table goes silent as Kim's face starts to flush with anger, a cool rage building up inside of him as he slowly replies "Are you suggesting that Justice doesn't have a place in the heart of a fight? Or that one's actions AREN'T tied into one's sense of right or wrong?"Terry, sensing that Kim might be about to "Explode" into a ball of pure-blooded Korean rage, puts an arm on his shoulder and says "Hey Kim, she's entitled to her own opinion-'"AND THAT OPINION IS WRONG!" He yells, cutting Terry off as your mind sees litteral fire coming out of his eyes as he yells "Justice... Is something that EVERYONE must have! It's the lifeblood of the soul! To not have Justice within one's hart... IS UNFORGIVABLE!"He pauses, then looks at you with a deadly gleam in his eyes as he asks "You said that you wanted to challenge one of my students, right?! Then why don't you challenge ME!? Right here and right now! I'll teach you ALL the TRUE meaning of Justice!"King slowly puts her hat over her face to try and hide her embarrassment as Robert & Andy shift in their seats, clearly uncomfortable at this turn of events (With Mai idly wondering "Who turned on Karmen Rider?") though Yuri stands up for you somewhat, telling Kim "C'mon dude, she just got out of the hospital again! The doctor's told her not to fight for a few weeks."
>>29583895Kim "Hmph!'s" at her words as you curse yourself inwardly and start to wince at this clown dressing you down in front of your new friends like you were in middle-school... And then get a few more beers in you; You're going to need them (Roll 2d100 for Intimidation & Luck) (IE "Luck" being Kim's readiness to fight you)>B. Decline to fight him citing Yuri's explaination, but stand by your words; You know Fiona well enough that she ISN'T the kind of woman that Kim believes she is... (Even though you aren't so sure yourself) (Roll 1d100 for Diplomacy)>C. What do have to say for yourself?"A burning rage overcomes your mind as you practically jump out of your seat and stare him down, saying "Fight Me. NOW!" with a blind rage in your eyes.Kim looks at you and seems to be surprised by your choice of words, the fire that seemed to burn in his eyes before starting to flicker a little as he tries to persuade you otherwise: "W... Well, I'm not one to advocate senseless violence... But if it's a fight you want, then I have no choice but to accept!", his last word sounding more like a resignation rather than an acceptance of your challenge."Katie, NO. You don't have to do this!" Yuri pleads as she gets up out of her chair, Robert holding onto her arm and trying to get her to sit down as he says "She's right you know; Ryo told me that you only just got out of Lee Pai Long's treatments today...""What's wong with all of you? This bloke's just insulted the integrity of one of my friends; Why SHOULDN'T I fight him?!" You reply, real conviction in your words as King feels compelled enough to stand up out of her chair and look up at you, asking "Think about this for a second though; Do you REALLY want to go back to a hospital's bed so quickly?"King's words rattle around in your mind and you can't help but agree with her, your body starting to relax sightly when you hear a small, but strong voice out of the back of your ear say "I'll fight for you."
>>29585295Your head turns along with the rest of your group (Save Mai, who's quietly napping while snuggling up with Andy) to see Tsyako Horikawa standing off to the side, her headband seemingly blowing in the air-conditioned breeze with a determined look on her face... Terry, being one to know how to stop fights as well as start them, takes a look at her and says "Hang on kiddo, you don't want to involve yourself in this."She shakes her head "No" and replies "But I have to; This man" She pauses, pointing at Kim "Publicly slandered my best friend... In front of me, In front of this crowd, in front of ALL of You!" She pauses, seemingly for dramatic effect as she looks to you and says "So yes, it would be my pleasure to fight in your stead."You take a look at her and mumble "Blood hell", then start to wonder what to do; While you're undeniably fired up right now, you didn't really want to fight Kim over something like this, though you DID accept that could be a possibility... On the other hand, if Tsuyako's really raring to go (And you can tell that this isn't "Acting" right now), then what's to stop you from letting her? Still, this whole situation's starting to get really out of hand...>A. Say "Thanks, but no thanks" and get ready to fight Kaphwan Kim, doing some stretches in front of him to ry and pysche him out. Rolled 92, 70 = 162>>29591784>>B. Play "The Devil's Advocate" and see what happens if she drinks; If things get out of hand, you could probably handle it... Right? (Roll 2d100 for Persuation & Luck) (IE "Luck" being how well Tsuyako reacts to her drink)I know this ends badly. But I must know.
>>29592159I'd complain that's the same reasoning that led to willingly taking a 5 at the beginning, but for what it's worth, characterization is still characterization.

Appologies for the delay Anons.>>29591963>>29592159You think things over for a moment and take a look at Tsuyako; In spite of her physical size, you can tell that she's really just a kid deep down with not much experience socialising... A lot like a young you, actually, except that while you were never really into parlike a tying until you were older and more aware of the world around you, Tsuyako seems relatively sheltered and wanting to branch out... "Well, there's always a first time" you think to yourself as you say "Look, I'don't know what Fiona thinks, but I y'need to experience life a little before you forget." You pause, then add "I mean, I'm not saying that you HAVE to drink, but it can hurt to learn how... And hell, if anything happens, I'm here for you."Tsuyako takes a long at you, seemingly lost in thought before she quietly says "OK...", then telling the bartender "I'll have what she's having please."The bartender nods as you say "Just take a sip and if you don't like it, I'll drop it and get you a Coke 'kay?""Oh... Kay..." Tsuyako replies as the "Damn..." "Well... Should I keep going? Or just sort of let it rest a little?""I'd say nurse it; If ya' ain't used to drinking, then it's no good to pound it..." You reply as you sip on your own drink as Tsuyako nods, taking a much more cautious sip and unzipping her tracksuit slightly, her face starting to sweat a little as she remarks "Did it get a little warmer in here? Or is just me?">A. Tell her "It's just you" and drink some more.>B. Agree with her and try to make her feel less awkward.>C. Don't reply and see what Fiona meant by "Never letting her drink again". >D. Something ElseGotta go on break again, but shouldn't be longer than an hour.
>>29593654>B. Agree with her and try to make her feel less awkward. There's a lot of people here in the Pao Pao Cafe 2, and all that body heat can up the temperature.
>>29593654>>B. Agree with her and try to make her feel less awkward."...sure, let's go with that."I find myself suspicious of where this might be going. Standing ready to abort if it doesn't lead towards the unfortunate hilarity I'm expecting.
>>29593654>BLet's not be a douche about this
>>29593880>>29593901>>29593912Back from my break; Update's on the way... And I can promise y'all that this little misadventure WILL NOT GO INTO 'That Guy" TERRITORY.
Appologies once again Anons; Had to find a few of my dogs and get them in my house before it got too dark out...>>29593880>>29593901>>29593912You nod in agreement as you think "...Sure, let's go with that" before telling her "There's a lot of people here tonight and all that body heat could probably up the temperature..."She giggles at your explaination and replies "Actually, you'd need to pack this place to maximum capacity for body heat to affect it... That and the ceiling's too high anyways.""Huh" you mutter and take a contemplative sip before asking 'What did you major in college? Aside from Wrestling, of course."Tsuyako pauses, a slightly sad look in her eyes before answering "I actually never wrestled while i was in school; The governing body wouldn't grant me a permit to wrestle guys and I couldn't make weight to fight girls..." She pauses before adding "Well, not until they adopted the "Open" class for freaks like me."You can tell by her harsh tone at that last remark that she's got issues, and by god a part of you wants ri help her tonight; "After all, isn't that what drinkin' buddies are for?" you ask yourself as you say "Hey, you might be built like a tank, but you're NOT a freak awright?""Tell that to my teachers in highschool... Or my entire senior year class that I had... Or one of the track coaches that kicked me off the team because these" She cups her breasts for added affect "Were "Too Big" and were distracting everybody else...">A. Ask her "Who in their right mind complains about a bird's breasts bein' TOO big? A bod's a bod, you're given one by god and you make the best ya' can from it", then relate to her through a story about your own youth.>B. Sigh and tell her "Yeah... It's fucked up innit mate?" as you sip your beer.>C. Joke "Ah, she was just jealous" and cheer her up; You want this be a celibratory mood, not a downer one.>D. Something Else
>>29596171>>A. Ask her "Who in their right mind complains about a bird's breasts bein' TOO big? A bod's a bod, you're given one by god and you make the best ya' can from it", then relate to her through a story about your own youth.Okay. Got the snowball all set up. Now we just push it downhill.:)

>>29596421>>29596493"Who in their right mind complains about a bird's breasts bein' TOO big?" You ask out loud, trying to be supportive of Tsuyako and her obvious body issues but mainly thinking back to that one dream about the over-sized Shrin Maiden waisting away into nothing under the merciless taunts of a surreal crowd. "A bod's a bod, you're given one by god and you make the best ya' can from it" You add, polishing off your beer and asking for another from the bartender.Tsuyako briefly flashes an almost melancholy smiles at that, but then her mood darkens as she replies "That's what everyone I know's said to me whenever I bring this up... But when you go to school every day and feel like everyone you meet's calling you a monster, or a freak, or whatever and laughs about it behind your back...""Hell, it wasn't any better for me either; I never really filled out when I was your age, I didn't feel feminine..." pausing as you confide to yourself "Hell, sometimes I STILL don't" before saying "What really got my goat was when some wanker too my clothes and replaced them with a boy's one day near the end of my junior year in highschool."Her expression starts to brighten as she reveals "That happened to me too! Somebody deliberately sent my replacement uniform with the wrong size, so wen I got it back it looked like I was dressing for attention or something... Of course, that's when guys thought I was "Easy" and started to date me, but it was only because I didn't have the money to pay for another one." She pauses, taking another good sip ofher beer as you can tell that she's starting to "Open Up" towards you. "Of course, that usually changed when they met my mom..." She grins, a warmth returning to her smile...>A. Ask her about it as Katja and hear the "Abbridged" Version of Tsuyako's story about her Mom.>B. go on a crazy Non-Sequitur Flash-Back about Tsuyako's Mom, with it all being explained to Katja as it's happening

>>TFW they want the crazyJust checking.>>29597174>>29597200>>29597269>Flashback:It's a late night in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, as a young, somewhat average-looking kid with short-black hair knocks on the door of what he assumes is a somewhat upscale-looking appartment building (Not knowing that said building is actually a single house). The kid's name is Ichiro, though his friends call him "Ichi" for short and he's still dressed in his school uniform (A black Gakuran with matching slacks, though he's got on tennis shoes on and the jacket's open to reveal a printed shirt that has FAR too much graphic work on it to try and descibe) as he knocks again, expecting the large, but still somewhat eye-pleasing highschool girl he had met and asked out on a date...However, Ichi's in for a rude shock as his date's mother opens the door, her toned, rather muscular body covered in a thin film of sweat and dressed in typical "Work-Out" gear Ichi. "Uh.... Good evening Ma'am. Is Tsuyako-chan still home?" Ichi asks as Tsuyako's mom still eyes him intensely, the boy's confidence starting to waver slightly as all of the rumors about this girl's parents start to repeat in his head: "Dude, no fucking WAY you can hook up with Tsuyako-san; Her mom's a fucking retired Bosozoku or some shit" "She gets her strength from her Mom, Hatsune-san, I think; I heard a rumor that someone caught a picture of them Suplexing Sharks together out by the bay during summer break." "She's daughter of Geneticaly-Engineered Humans that were part of a dead cartel called 'NESTS'; That's why she's so big no one asks her out." "Dude, I heard that Tsuyako's mom wrestled the entire men's team and beat every single one of them within three hours, then took them all out for a beer at some seedy dive bar down by the Gaijin's base."
>>29597907"You noddin' off into space or somethin'?" Hatsune asks Ikki before looking around, motioning him inside before saying "Hey buddy, come here."Ichi's train of thought get's broken as he replies "Yes Ma'am?" as cordially as possible, his paranoia heightened by Hatsune moving out of the door frame and handing him a Sledgehammer. "Here. It's for your protection and your life."Ichi's face contorts in an almost comical way as he can't quite express how fucked-up this all feels, but he simply takes a breath and says "Thank you, Ma'am... ?"Hatsune takes a devilish look at him and says " Look... I'm not worried about anything you're going to do or try on her tonight. She's got half of my DNA and half of her Father's; I know for a fact that she can take care of herself."Before Ichi could reply, Hatsune cuts him off by continuing "So... I'll give ya' a bit of a warning: If you get her too excited,or Drunk, or whatever? She'll snap and will go bat-s*** crazy."Ichi's body starts to stiffen with fear as Hatsune almost seamlessly slips into "Kayfabe" as she continues talking, seemingly enjoying rattling this kid's psychic cage: "Let's say if you we're to do. I'dunno, some kind of taunt to her while you're out; That's an invitation to her to go at you like a Crow going after a Gold Coin."Ichi's head starts to shake back and forth almost subconsciously as Hatsune smiles, towling her forehead off while saying "Heh, I'm sorry; I guess I got y'all frightened kid... So here's the deal: You could go on this date with her and maybe even get something going in bed together. As long as you don't get her pregnant, I really don't care... Otherwise, you can also wuss out, but that means I'll have to give you an Olympic Slam while calling you a worthless piece of-"
>>29598077"MOM!!" Tsuyako yells, cutting her mother off with almost perfect timing as she runs up to the door, her figure violently shaking and straining against her rather plain-looking outfit (Beige Turtleneck sweater and a Black skirt, topped off with a pair of Black "Thigh-High" socks and a pair of spare Wrestling Boots) as she moves while Hatsune grins, giving Ichi a quick wink and saying "Too late to back out now. Have fun and remember to always have that protection on hand...">End Flashback>You now Re-Assume Direct Control of Katja HartkernYou don't if you should laugh or cry after hearing Tsuyako's quite-frankly unbelievable story, though she giggles as she breaks the awkward silence by saying "I have to hand it to my mother; She helped realize that I didn't need to surround myself with the kind of street urchins most girls my age went for... And she helped me pull through the darkest parts of my childhood.""W-Well, that's good to know that she looked out for you n'all" you stammer as you start to wonder what's happening down at your table near the Pao Pao Cafe's "Fighting Stage", but you also don't want to let this girl out of your sight (Fiona's warning from Tsuyako ringing in your ears)...>A. Stay at the bar with her and ask for more information about Tsuyko's parents; See if she's REALLY from the NESTS Syndicate or something...>B. Politely ask to go to the bathroom so you can laugh that last story out of your system andmaybe straighten yourself up a bit.>C. Gracefully bow out and head back over to your table; You can't help but feel like your food's arrived...>D. Invite her over to your table; You don't want to get any flack from Fiona Graves if she finds out that you let Tsuyako drink un-supervised.
>>29597907>>29598077>>29598267Oh man, her Mom is hilarious.>DIf she really does go crazy, having a bunch of people there to help would be nice.
>>29598267>>D. Invite her over to your table; You don't want to get any flack from Fiona Graves if she finds out that you let Tsuyako drink un-supervised.Genius in two parts - it both provides a safety net in case of catastrophe, and ensures maximum dispersal of the inevitable mishaps, confusion and infamy. And on that cheery note, goodnight.
>>29598291>>29598348You briefly ponder whether you should wait for Fiona to find the two of you sitting at the bar, but you can practically hear your friends back over at your table asking where you went off to... When a brilliaint idea strikes you.You turn in your stool and ask Tsuyako "So... D'you wanna sit at my table and talk a little bit more? I can smell my food from over here...:""Sure!" she cheerily replies as she finally finishes he first glass of the night and gets up off the stool, stumbling a little as you nearly jump off of yours to try and keep her balanced, subliminally saying "Whoa now, easy there sunshine." She eventually regains her footing as she lets a little more of her tracksuit's zipper down, revealing a staggering amount of flesh and a slight hint of the wrestling outfit she has on underneath (Though not enough to really see what it looks like) as the two of you lazily walk back over to your table, Tsuyako's face starting to redden slightly as she seemingly hangs on to your shoulder for support (And you start to wonder how much she might weigh; It takes almost all of your strength to keep the two of you upright she leans her body into yours).Eventually, you make it back to your table and idly wonder where everybody went, as only Yuri & King are still sitting there, still playing "Competitive" Solitaire."Well well, enjoying the night with others are we?" King slyly asks as she then chuckles, seemingly letting Yuri in on the private chat you had with her before heading inside the Cafe."Nah, just havin' a drink with another one of me mates" you reply as Tsuyako starts to break away from you, a foolish grin on her face as she plops down next to your chair, yawning a little bit as you ask "Where'd everybody go?""Terry, Andy & Kim went off to the back to have a word with Joe, while Robert and Mai both went to the bathrooms a little bit after you had left" Yuri adds, still intently snatching up cards from the top of her deck.
>>29598977"Okay, but where's the food we ordered?" You ask, making a mental note to keep track of Tsuyako (Who's perched as much of herself as she can onto her chair) as you take a seat next to her."Well..." Yuri pauses, then leans in towards your right ear and whispers "Richard had it checked and found there was something "Off" with the meat in your steak, or something; He's getting everything ready and overseeing it all of our food himself, in case it had anything to with those guys from earlier."Your mind flashes for a few seconds as you briiefly ponder why exactly did "The Man in Black" and his cohort stop in at King's... Though you put that thought in the back of your mind and simply focus on the music and the atmosphere of The Pao Pao Cafe for a few more fleeting minutes. >(Pause Updates)Time is catching up me and I need to rest my mind... Thread will hopefully resume at 10 AM PST, 1 PM EST.
