Please pardon my postspeed. I do not yet have a computer, so I am doing this via Vita touch screen. Dedication Mode Go!

(Also due to this I cannot paste youtube links. Might switch to another device part way through to see if something else works better.)

It all started as a normal day for you. Firt day of the spring semster of Senior year, just had to get through the day. Even the teacher seemed a bit more relaxed, though there was an announcement at homeroom: your school had been chosen to test some kind of experimental medical scanner, and required scanning was to be done before lunch.

Your childhood friend Kylie giggled next to you, her punky blue and green hair fjlling your vision for a second before class actually started. "New scanner huh? Maybe it will figure out shy you are an expert with numbers, or why you are such a dork," she teases, smilkng at you.

Yes, you can choose name and colors, and I will be letting you fill in some other stats as we go. Sex is fixed as male, because Chrono would approve.

If you are going for a Belkan Build, try to use a Field of Interest more like Athleticism or just Kendo, that way you can have the body to handle the cartridge system.

Also I prefer more Sam's song.

Well, to be honest I thought that we could modify that sort of build to suit our tastes, like learning a element or something. But to be honest I kinda feel that the best way to capture the grunt feel for this is to go for a pure mid mage who has to use everything in the magic system to get ahead.

Also I like underdog weak but skilled chars like Chrono and Teena.

You try not to laugh, but too many memories of her falling from trees and the two of you flying off ramps in wagons and, later, skates and bikes among other wheeled devices.

This is set before Strikers, during the Time Skip, so we might have a chance actually.

Also the Vita means that we must meet Vita and make her our Knight Bro.

Well, let's see.
Can we be super devout and shit? Church is kind of underrepresented in canon.
>>
Dimensional Transfer to work complete.

I actuslly swapped to my 3DS, and it seems a bit more optimal.

Also, my name is meaningfull as I work overnight security.

Also, corrected myself. Ment to use the time during ViVid, but if time skip is that much more popular.......
>>
>>29739734
If we go as Takato, that mean we should try for a knight mortif. Actually can be base our powers on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXizUVbdcJQ

Go with your concept, bro. Don't change just because we misunderstood.

>>29739829
So do we go Belka-Mid-Childa or Neo-Belka?
If you want Rein Weissritter we'll probably have to go for the former. It also depends if we get any kind of device at all.
>>
>>29739820
Vivid is a good timeframe because the attention of the canon is off somewhere else than the TSAB
>>
>>29740010
Probably, but to be honest the MId Style could handle the spells just find. My idea for a Rein Weissritter like build would be as a Red/White Knight who fights from range sniping at enemies.

>>29740020
The thing with Vivid is that it leaves the events of Force as the last canon events to use. Using the time skip allows us to try to befriend the younger Aces and maybe even befriend Jail or stop Nanoha's accident. Plus we could be bros with Chrono and Vita.
>>
>>29740135
>The thing with Vivid is that it leaves the events of Force as the last canon events to use

Wait, hold up, Vivid happens AFTER force, doesn't it?

Or am I completely reading that wrong and you mean that means we have to deal with the stuff that happened after force while vivid is going on?
>>
>>29740187
No, Vivid happens before Force, that means that we would have to deal with the Hucks and CO in the future.

To be honest it might be cool to run a separate TSAB outlaw quest in the Force Era.
>>
>>29740211
>No, Vivid happens before Force

I'm 100% remembering that incorrectly then. I could have sword vivid happened after force.

If THAT'S the case, let's stay as far away from Force as possible because I sure as fuck don't want to deal with that trainwreck, AU or not.

Merely being there might cause our art quality to decline while we're fighting Squall.
>>
>>29740260
I like Force... do not hate me.

To be honest, Vivid might not be a bad choice (if we were also a shota). I would not mind having the chance to waifu Ein or Seig.

>Probably, but to be honest the MId Style could handle the spells just find. My idea for a Rein Weissritter like build would be as a Red/White Knight who fights from range sniping at enemies.
I have no idea about the source mecha.
Yes, but the speedy shit shown in the video can't really be provided by pure Mid. Speed simply isn't their "thing". The spells sure, just don't think we'll be a fast battlefield controller this way. If you're okay with that, fine. Just don't think we can do a 1:1 by choosing the blaster wizard system.

Chrono bro route would be something like defrosting him, and make him realise he is our bro and friend. Then we get him drunk and get him laid with his childhood friend or something.

But Fate handles speed with the Mid system. Though I do not really mind going for a Neo-Belkan System. Though the timeskip timeline might make it difficult, as Neo-Belkan style is probably being developed as of now.

The keyword here is "Fate". Normal rules don't apply to her and she still barely held out in that department till she went Mid-Belka and got MOTHERFUCKING FORCE AURA.
>Though I do not really mind going for a Neo-Belkan System.

>>
>>29740514
>>29740579
To be honest the original idea of Force was great. Having a manga from the POV of the guys that normally would be the villains would be great.

I totally was expecting Force to be a story about the outlaw, Touma, having to balance his EC infection, his desire for freedom, his revenge and protecting Lily while running from the TSAB and the Hucks.

To be honest joining Subaru killed most of the tension early Force had.
>>
>>29740579
In my head cannon, Neo-Belkan was a project that was being developing pre As, the thing is that the data from the inclucion of the Cartridge system in RH and Bal plus the data from Hayate and the Wolks helped complete the project and create a new functional system that more people could use.

To be honest lets go for Neo-Belkan, we lose the binding forcus, but we can gain more armor and speedy shooting.
>>
After class lets out, you head up to the rooftop. It is the habitual meet up for you and your friends.

As you head up, you ponder studying or going to Archery club. Both would be like meditation for you, but your train of thought is interrupted as you open the door, a loud voice calling to you.

"Oi! Takato-sempi! Is it not a glorious day? Full of the renewing power of youth!"

Sighing, you shake your head at Kyou. Your younger classman and second at archery, he always was a little...odd.

"I told you Kyou, call me either Taka or Kato. We have known each other for three years now." you tell him as you find a seat, Kyou practically spinning over to sit down as you munch on a peach bun.

"I could never disrespect my sempi like that! But on another note, what do you think of the sudden medical exams?"

Force could have been good if people would havew given it a chance to become its own thing. It had ton of potential, but after the Huck battle, Touma was forced to the sidelines and the plot slowed to a crawl.

Not to say that there aren't good thing, I like the Grendels and Hades feels like the most competent villain in the whole series, all in all it was not a loss.

>Force could have been good if people would havew given it a chance to become its own thing. It had ton of potential, but after the Huck battle, Touma was forced to the sidelines and the plot slowed to a crawl.
That's the thing. It wasn't ever allowed to really become something so it's stuck between going into a different direction and doing what has been done before, better. It's not satisfying at all.

Well, to be honest I would just hope that an Anime Adaptation of Force would reboot the manga, and try to salvage the ideas. But to be honest I think that everything post-Strikers is getting scraped for the movie verse.

Well moving on from Force, I hope we get assigned to the Artha when we join the TSAB, with Chrono as the Cap. Though being assigned to help Yuuno on a dig could lead to hilarious adventures.

You know, I find it wierd that the TSAB is divided into three brances, as in Land, Air and Space. I mean you probably could just have two branches, something like the Space Navy and the Planetside Forces. Why do they have a separate Air Force?
>>
>>29741276
>Why do they have a separate Air Force?
Because space force is 2special4u and probably something only REALLY good people with specialized training can join. They're expected to wield exterminatus-tier weaponry and deal with other cultures after all.
> But to be honest I think that everything post-Strikers is getting scrapped for the movie verse.
That's confirmed more or less. Look it up on ANN.
>Though being assigned to help Yuuno on a dig could lead to hilarious adventures.

>>29741378
My theory for the Air Force would be something along the lines that it is a legacy from Belka. Belkans had separate Knight Orders of just elite flying knights separate from the other ground forces. Thus the current Air Force is a legacy from that tradition.

Also I would not mind zany Indiana Jones adventures with Yuuno. Bonus points if we pass Ferret!Yuuno as a God to the natives of a planet.
>>
Am I alone in wanting to be part of the squadron that makes first contact with a civilization that would not only equal the TSAB in terms of raw industrial and technological output, but that is completely alien to their way of life?
>>
>>29741512
Depends, to be honest I would not mind it but it would probably be too complicated for this quest.

That sort of idea would work better as it own separate quest.

Also would love if that civilization was based on using organic systems for weapons, and their people were basically living viruses like the guy from Prototype or Double Cross.
>>
>>29741584
A civilization that doesn't muse magic at all, but is completely technological; like the Federation from Star Trek.

>civilization was based on using organic systems for weapons
Completely organic ships, magic specialized in massive area effects, and what we view as individuals, the alien views as drones; mass manufactured, specialized, and eminently expendable.

"Why seek you me? Met you your match? Ah...met you your match..in the Locusts."
>>
>>29741715
Might work, but I would like to keep a humanoid aspect to them, they should be something that adapted and consumed to evolve. Each body is a gestalt of many aliens working together, dominated by one.
>>
>>29741457

They're a race of psionically connected bugs. The drones are completely non-sapient by themselves. It's only as a collective, and their central processor, that they are capable of building interstellar battleships.
>>
>>29742054
Mmm, to be honest that might be too different from the TSAB. If it ever came to a meeting with another civilization, I would like for things to end in a befriending.

About their magic, they use it to modify their body to make it do what they need. Instead of affecting the world outside, their magic changes the world within.

Also their spaceships would be dragon-whales that could fire lasers from their mouths and eyes.

I was thinking, maybe a mycoid race, who have developed a means of infecting mammalian lifeforms with their spores, and incubate them. The spores grow into the mammalian nervous system, and hijack it and the endocrine system while suppressing the immune system.

Kyou flails and puts his hands on your shoulders. "Of course I would Sempaiwaitaminute.." he says, looking worried before noticing your grin and joking tone. "Almost got me there, Takato-sempai! Good one!" he laughs, his infectious mood catching as you chuckle warmly.

Soon Kylie and your quieter friend Toshiiro join you. Looking slightly up at the Judo club president. He was always stockier then everyone else, built like a brick house and about as solid. He nods to you, seeing as you both have decided that your respective clubs could survive without you for now.

After a light snack of peach buns and a good review of material from the past year, the bell rings, signalling the start of the exams.

Soon enough you find yourself in the medical gown, laying on a soft platform. A machine hums silently around you, the scanner slightly too complex for you to figure out at a glance. To one side is the normal nurse, Kayani-san, as well as another female you don't recognize. On the other side is a man in a black, offical looking outfit, currently staring at a tablet.

"Alright Kato, we're starting the test. Just stay calm during it, and everything will go fine." the school nurse says, nodding to the other. A statement like that gets you wondering what happens when you don't stay calm.

The machine starts humming loudly, a sound you less hear and more feel in your chest. Two rings slide over you and start turning. Then, the world goes white, and you feel like you're floating....

You look around slowly, wondering what is going on before you notice a red light in front of your chest. Looking down you see a gently crackling orb sliding slowly from your chest. Blinking, you reach out to it, the electric current on its surface not harming you, buzzing almost happily at the contact, as if it was lonely before. Carefully you pull it back to you, hugging it....

You blink awake, the machine running down. Looking around in a slight haze, you see Doctor talking to Offical Guy. She is smiling bradly as he nods, face serious, but his eues shine with what seems to be good news to him.

A few minutes later you are released, and advised to meet up in the asembly hall after lunch. You cannot seem to get the ball of red lightning out of your head however....

After a few minutes, you start to wonder were your friends are. Shouldn't they be done by now?

Just as you got up, picking up your bag with your tablet, you see Toshiiro wave at you, motioning to follow. Nodding to him, you work your way through the slowly growing more crowded cafeteria, catching up to him as he leads you towards the gym and physicals area. Slipping into a storage room, you see the slightly haunted looks of Kylie and Kyou.

"Takato-sempai.... do you know what was going on in there?" Kyou asks you, not looking scared, more...shaken, as if his entire world was just heaved around by a meteor. Kylie looks at you as well, more lost in thought than scared.

Turnin g to Toshiiro, you ask him to describe what happened to him, and start down the line.

He grunts for a second. "Felt like flying in a blue sky. Saw an orb of light from my chest. Felt like ice water on a hot day, same color too.

Always one with words, that Toshiiro.
(cont.)
>>
Kyou was next. He looked up at you as you put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Taking a small breath, he started.

"There.....there was nothing but white for me, but I had a ball come from my chest too. I could feel a summer wind, fresh from the end of spring on it. It was...purple of all things, but it felt like part of me....was that my soul Sempai?"

Yo smile a little."Not sure yet, Kyou. And you, Kylie?"

She started, blinking and blushing a bi. "Oh! Sorry about spacing out. Mine was...hot, like a roaring bon fire, floating in a yellow void....it had an blue hue, which I found weird, but it also felt like an almost negletic partof me, like a missing imaginary friend."

You nod, sitting dow with them. You have a fewminutes before the assembly.

Remebering your tablet, you turn on the news. Th only noteworthy thing on is an odd meeting of the UN, and the odd part of it is the fact that noone new it was going to happen today, as well as the media blackout involving it.

Turning back to your friends, they seem deep in thought. "Did anyone hea what those machines where supposed to test for?" you ask. Kylie and Toshiiro shook their heads, but Kyou spoke up.

"I heard something about a... what was it.. metaphysical organ or something it was scanning for. I thought they ment some kind of mental illness. Does this mean we are all crazy?"

Kylie shook her head. "If we were crazy I think they would have taken us away by now."

You nod at her logic, glad she is helping Kyou keep his head. "Lady and gentlemen, I think our only answer will be at the assembly. I suggest we get there soon. Maybe they will talk about wha is going on with the UN too."

Taking your lead, your group of possibly insane friends make your way down the hall. Opening the door, the first thing you notice is the lack of students in there. There couldn't be more then 40 students in there. You could see the same people from the medical room, as wellas some mor offically dressed people, some of which looked lime they had navy niforms on.

Looking about, you see many people from other classes, as well as some shared clubs. Two of the kendo club were sitting by two of the music club, for instance. It didn't look like anyone else from the Archery team was there, but due to the stirring on stage, everyone started to quiet down as your group took some front row seats.

The headmaster came forward, just as some men in suits came on stage with...was that the president of Japan?! You didn't have time to dwell on it as the headmaster started talking.

"Thank you all for coming today. As I am sure you all have questions, I will get down to the bare facts. As many of you have guessed, the exam you took was no ordinary medical test. Let me be clear on one thing. None of you have anything deadly."

A wave of relief went through you, and you are sure the rest of the students are showing visible relief as well.

"What the test was for is something closer to a talent. All it did was record who had the best chances for it, if not already expressing it. Sort of like someone's eue for architecture, or ear for music."

At this point, the president stood up, nodding to the headmaster. "At this time, I would like to introduce President Sakimoto to speak about the importance of what is going on."

(cont.)
>>
>>29746907
"Thank you, Headmaster Yang. My dear youths, today you will be given the opportunity of a lifetime. I cannot speak much on the subject, as many things are still being discussed and declassified. However, your families will be brought in by the end of the day. By then, everyone of you will have spoken to one of the Admirals here to find out what is going on, as they can explain it better then I."

The president bowed slightly and removed himself from the stage as one of the admirals came forward. Her hair was various shades of green, and she had a mark on her forhead.

"Hello all of you. I am Admiral Lindy Harlowan, and I would like to say welcome to you, our possible new recruit mages!"

I think that we should be open to this and try to research their methodology about this. Trusting observations is the basics of the scientific method, so we should not debunk the things we see, but rather try to hypothesize a answer to them.

Also so we should try to understand the present theories they have.

>Remember that Nanoha is a Post-Post Apocalyptic setting, after the fall of two galactic empires many pieces of technology and magic have been loss to the dimensional sea.
Ayup. Nanoha would be pretty dark if it weren't for the author's dislike for grimderp. Pretty sure TSAB and IoM could even "speak a common language" more than, say, IoM and galactic federation. They just haven't HAD to become as oppressive.
> The TSAB tries to understand how a lot of the stuff works, but it is not always easy.
And 99% of lost technologies have the delightful side effect of blowing up reality or causing mass extermination events by some other means.

>>29747356
Good, good.
>>
>>29747398
Nanoha has always been dark with killer artifacts that can blow dimensions, child soldiers, cloning experiments, cyborgization and all sort of dark things. To be honest the magical girl coat just covers most of that darkness.

Force probably was the most honest Nanoha manga, because it did not shy of showing how serious things can get in that world.

In my mind, the early TSAB was oppressive, because it had to try to carve some semblance of order in the aftermath of the fall of Belka. The biggest proof of that is the power the Brains had in Strikers and the whole Imperium nods that some of the functions of the TSAB had.

As time went on and the TSAB managed to control more of the space they claimed they lightened the hammer. This is similar to how by Vivid they probably do not need so many child mages and can even bother to host tournaments for them.

>>29747388
Science!Waifu is a goo.
>>
>>29747437
>Force probably was the most honest Nanoha manga, because it did not shy of showing how serious things can get in that world.
I wouldn't have a problem with Force, hell I'd probably enjoy it, if it didn't read like bad fanfiction. The core concept is good, but I don't give a fuck about the protagonist because he's a fucking moron, and I find the Huckebeins obnoxious in their "LOOK AT HOW COOL WE ARE AREN'T WE MORE AWESOME THAN THOSE CHARACTERS YOU ACTUALLY LIKE!"ness.
>>
Archived, but don't stop chatting! I wanna see what you guys are planning and pondering.
>>
>>29747503
To be honest, Force should have stuck to the core concept it had, the story of Touma, the Outlaw, running from the TSAB and the Hucks.

To be honest, compared to Nanoha, his character had tons of stuff to deal with. He had his revenge going on, dealing with his killer virus, trying to be free from his pursuiters, and protecting Lily.

I do admit that the hucks were handled badly and were too edgy when they were introduced, but I do think that they have gotten better as things had been developing in the manga.

To me, the old cast in FORCE should have been antagonist (or rather people that Touma has to run from), at least until we had given Touma a bit more time to develop on his own as a EC driver. Right now I get Seed Destiny vives from Nanoha in Force.

To be honest I really just like the core concept of FORCE, the execution was rather bad (just like Strikers). I kinda wish to run a FORCE quest one of these days to try to fix it.
>>
>>29747531

>I kinda wish to run a FORCE quest one of these days to try to fix it.
Please do. The "Stuck between fronts" thing was great but all the shit they wanted to stick into it didn't really stick together. Iron and clay and all that.
>This is similar to how by Vivid they probably do not need so many child mages and can even bother to host tournaments for them.

WHY DID YOU DO THIS, STRIKERS? FUCK YOU. You can't even claim "Cause they hate kemonomimi" or else Dog Days wouldn't be a thing.
Crossover when? I bet we could do FUUUUNNNNNN~ things by taking Flonya Force into our Linker Core.
Okay, maybe not THAT fun since that'd probably make us A-Rank if combined with our internal abilities, but still.

Good night and thanks for running! I eagerly await the next thread!

If we're really lucky we'll get camrips. Maybe. Hopefully.

That theory about Divices is really scary.

Still I would believe it.

I would also love a Dog Days crossover. Specially if it includes Yuuno.

I know, that is why Nanoha is very scary.

Nanoha could probably draw in energy from a large enough area to become S+.

I just had a terrifying thought. Nanoha with the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch.
A character who uses magic like Tim Taylor uses power tools, with access to a literally infinite magical powersource?
Admittedly that assumes Midchildan magic is compatible with Magecraft.
