You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You and Kitten stare at it, draped in your towels.

“So,” says Kitten. “Been a while.”

You nod. “It has.”

It has indeed been a while since you’ve weighed yourself. You consider yourself proud of the fact that you’ve managed to stave off becoming a total ham, but the fear still strikes you every now and again. You and Kitten are especially weary of that one time you volunteered at the animal shelter. How one day, the lights dimmed, the animals started going mad, the Earth itself seemed to crash. It was like that one song your dad used to sing to you in bed: The Storms are on the Ocean.

By god, that woman caused earthquakes with every step she took. You do NOT want to become that.

You look down at Kitten, “So, you already weighed yourself?”

Kitten nods. “Lost two pounds.” You pout, squeezing Kitten’s arm a bit. “Hey, if you’re wondering, I’m on a can’t fail diet known as social awkwardness.”

You roll your eyes then turn back to it. You grit your teeth, and glare down at potentially the most hurtful enemy you might ever face.

THE SCALE.

“Here I go,” you say as you slowly step onto THE SCALE.

You quietly whine. “It increased…”

Kitten looks down at it. “Only by a pound. That’s not bad. You can totally work that off in Tankery.”

“… but it increased.”

Kitten puts her tongue in cheek, and then squeezes your thigh. “Hey, I’m in favor of the results here. Come on.”

Regardless of weight increases and the like, today you do indeed have Tankery practice. After that of course you also have a slumber party planned with Victoria of William Adams Academy and Perrine Hobart of Christie Tech. You check the time. 9:30. You’ve already got breakfast out of the way.

Kitten meanwhile, still in her towel, lies on your bed and starts playing her video games on her laptop. You meanwhile, sit on top of her back, brushing her long brown hair. Jesus, this girl needs to get into the habit of using shampoo. Conditioner too as well.

What shall you do?

Posting this for exposure and consideration in planning.

The place is almost completely flat. No hills, or at least not major ones. There are also numerous little roads and hedges everywhere. The big thing is that there's only one bridge, red circle, across the river. There might be places you can ford across but I don't know where they are.
You can see there's a town around the bridge so they'll be fighting at point blank range there. However, there's a problem. On their side of the river, there are two somewhat defensible locations, a castle and an abbey (blue circles). They can hole up there and blast us with their guns while remaining fairly safe.

I imagine their plan is to seize the bridge ASAP before we can. But if we can get tanks into place before they can cross then they'll hole up rather than attempt a crossing. Their guns are presently stronger than ours so they can lay a barrage down and either force us back or cover their advance.

Considering they go in groups of three it will be hard to predict where they will strike or might do a flanking maneuver. We can try to slow their advance by making craters with indirect fire.
Although, the castle still has fairly tall towers. We just need send someone up and give them our binocs.

Now, the two roads marked in Orange are extremely obvious firing lines, D15 one more so than D147. Our M5A1 and Pz4, possibly the Panther too, are capable of matching the speed of the cruisers. We can send them to immediately lockdown those roads and slow own our opponent significantly. The rest of the team then uses the advantage to move into the castle and abbey.
There are 3 main approaches to the bridge, D147, D15 and D900. D15 and D147 are the most direct, hence emphasis on blockading them ASAP. D900 is covered by the abbey which has easy LOS across it. Not 100% perfect, there's a group of trees in the way, but good enough.
>>
>>29777300
I remember this, the only thing I'm worried is the three tanks will have to cover two roads until we arrive
>>
>>29777300
A detailed plan as such is fast movers seize D15 and D147 approaches. Second line of tanks, our mediums, move into the abbey and secure LOS over D900. Finally our heavies move into the castle which covers the Northern approaches. Once done, we can't be flanked. North has the castle, South has the abbey, West is also the castle and the East has the river with only one easy point to cross which we control. We have a spotter on the castle that can look for enemy movement.

If we lose the castle and abbey then lose the bridge as well, we can't rely on defensive positions. There's way too much ground to cover without fortifications and the Cruisers will outflank us at will. We'll need to jump in the bushes then; hide and ambush.
>>
Should we get the BT-7 on our wishlist? 17 000 $ is quite a lot considering we still have a bunch of tanks to upgrade, OTOH it would allow us to put the poor crew of the Type 97 into an useful scout tank.
What do you guys think?
>>
>>29777452
its a dead end conversion/upgrade wise, and we've already got 2 possible tanks lined up for the rifle club, the T-34/76 (whenever the fuck we get it back) and the Pz. IV (when the aces hop into the Tiger II), plus other priorities in upgrading our mediums
>>
>>29777166
>Squeeze Kitten's face between our "results"in vengeance until she starts begging for breath
>>
>>29777452
too expensive and we have the t-34 in waiting after the play.

Not to mention it's also cheaper to upgrade the Chi-ha
>>
>>29777452
No.

After 8 days, we'll get the T-34 back from the play, and we can save up the money to go to upgrades on the Sherman chassis.
>>

You yawn as you button up your jacket and then zip up your little miniskirt. You dust it off a bit then look over at Kitten, still in her towel, still playing her video games. “You going to stay here all day, Kitten?”

Kitten shrugs. “Only until practice.”

“Okay,” you say, a bit saddened. Kitten has no imagination whatsoever. “But hey, Nancy, Lisa, and Ramirez are around you know?”

“I don’t think Lisa wants me back in her place after what happened last night.”

“Fair point.”

You bid farewell to your best good friend then leave the dorm. Because you drive like a stereotypical woman, you’re not going to take the Scout Car. Much as you’d like to. Instead, you’re going to walk, because DAMN IT THAT ONE POUND.

You walk along to the bakery. It’s a decent distance. Anything you want to do?

We don't need another light tank, and they'll get their T-34 back soon enough. We will need to prioritize some new tanks after our match over upgrades initially because I suspect we'll have more crews joining then.

Our best option in my opinion then is to put money into our Sherman chassis.

>>
> Study a Tankery Team (William Adams)
> Call Someone (Nancy)

After watching more highlight reels of William Adams in their various tournaments, you feel a bit better about facing them. There’s nothing too complex about their strategy which mostly relies on map control.

You decide to text Victoria on it. “Hey, Victoria. Can you tell me what tanks you’re going to be using?”

She quickly texts you back. “yeah no”

Eh, worth a shot.

> + 5 CP

You dial up Nancy. “Hey, Nancy. What’s up?”

“Oh, not much, Gertrude! I’m here at the Old Folks Home.”

“Oh, I was just calling. I need some help with the Girl Scouts today before practice. Gotta sell cookies you know?”

“Oooh… Sorry, but I can’t get off from here. I’ll call up the other crews if they’re willing, but I can’t help you today, at least.”

“That’s fine, Nancy. Maybe we’ll pay you a visit, yeah?”

“That’d be splendid!”

You hang up. Then you arrive back at the Bakery. You’re about to open the door when it bursts open, Daisy girl-running out in tears.

“EVERYTHING I DO IS A FAILURE!” screams Daisy.

Low slides out immediately and runs after her. “NO IT’S NOT!” she screams back.

You blink. If you had been a bit closer, that door slam probably would’ve broken a few ribs. You walk inside and see Girl Scouts Juliette and Gordon manning the register. You wave and say, “Morning girls. Got any work for me?”

Juliette says, “Sure. We got some boxes to deliver to Walter Christie, if you wouldn’t mind delivering them?”

Hi there, I'm the creator of this plan and I'd like to say, there's a huge fucking problem.

In theory anyway.

Here's some hints because I'm too busy right now.

What did the Germans expect the Allies to do?

What did the Allies actually do?

What would Perrine do?
>>
>>29778011
While thoroughly sound, the biggest flaw in this plan is the possibility that William Adams will reach the town before we do, in which case it devolves into a very dangerous game of hide and seek. Either that or they send one group of tanks to sneak through D900 for whatever reason.
Perrine will send out tactical hugs
>>
>>29778011
its 7:40AM here and I've not slept for almost 30 hours, so do please explain when you are not so busy, my brain is having a hard enough time typing this up

>>29778011
>What did the Germans expect the Allies to do?

>What did the Allies actually do?

the 25pdr is essentially a short barrel low velocity gun, like the 105 on shermans, used for infantry and anti-fortification work and indirect fire as an artillery piece

if we have alternative anti-tank guns, they are better than it at everything except blowing buildings up

“Sure, I can do that,” you say. “How many boxes?”

Juliette smiles. “20.”

“… okay. Do you have a truck or something?” you ask. Strong as you like to think you are, 20 boxes of fukken girl scout cookies are not exactly going to be lightweight. Juliette nods then leads you around to the back door to reveal an M3 Halftrack.

Juliette says, “You know how to drive?”

You nod, grinning smugly. “Of course! Of course!” You can just feel your nose getting a smidge longer.

Juliette says, “You don’t know how to drive.”

“Eh…” You deflate a little. “Okay yeah, but you know?”

Juliette rolls her eyes, then smiles. “Oh, don’t you worry about a thing. I’ll drive you there myself.” She pats her chest, grinning proudly. “That’s the Girl Scout Way! To help those who can’t help themselves! Why, our little troop here swears everyday! ‘Let me strive every moment of my life to make myself better and better, to the best of my ability-‘”

You continue for her. “-that all may profit by it. Let me think of the right and lend all my assistance to those who need it, with no regard for anything but justice. Let me take what comes with a smile, without loss of courage.”

You both simultaneously finish it, grinning like schoolgirls. “Let me be considerate of my country, of my fellow citizens and my associates in everything I say and do. Let me do right to all, and wrong no man!”

You open your arms up, squealing with glee. “You read Doc Savage!”

“Someone actually knows what I’m talking about!” she says back.

With that, you both enter into the halftrack. Juliette bids farewell to Gordon and drives on over to the loading area.

Back and bingo! You're right. When the Germans were expecting the Allied landings, they always thought they'd land at a harbor. Which is perfectly right and strategically sound except it never fucking happened.

This entire plan is based on the assumption that they'll go for the bridge. As long as that's true, everything will go, somewhat, smoothly. If it doesn't happen though, then shit goes wrong.

To describe, see the pic. If we're moving at full speed on D2, we'll get strung out into 3 groups, black circles. Assuming that our opponents find a crossing not needing the bridge then they can smash straight into our flank while we're strung out which would be catastrophic.

>>

They don't. Perrine does.

>>29778376
I don't know jackshit about that river so I'll assume the worst.

All said, a minor adjustment or two to the present plan is all that's necessary. A radio operator from our forward groups should climb the castle tower rather than wait for one of the rear tanks. They can spot straight away on the river and in general on the area.

In addition, only our fast tanks should take D2. Everyone else can go via D15 which is much safer. If they do try to cross then we can sandwich them with the slower tanks hitting their front while the fast tanks swing round their rear.

> Talk to Juliette

“… and it cost a lot of money to replace it! The instructor wasn’t really happy with me either.”

Juliette nods as she drives. “Yeah, I wouldn’t be happy if I was in the hospital with three broken ribs, a broken arm, and some first degree burns.”

You say, “He wasn’t on fire that long. Naval Studies Rescue is punctual like that.”

Juliette nods again, laughing a little. “I’d still be pissed though.”

“Yeah,” you say. “Though, I have to ask. This thing you asked of me. It’s kind of open-ended you know?”

Juliette says, “Well, Gertrude. We reward those who help us. And as Girl Scouts, we always do well to those who do well to us.”

You ask her, “So, you might be interested in Tankery then?”

“Well,” she says, “Let’s not get carried away. Let’s see how you do in the first match. Tankery’s kind of a… it’s a bit violent really.”

You say, “All sports are violent to an extent.”

With that, you’re on the crane over to Walter Christie. The wait isn’t too long. You hit the deck with a dull thud, then drive off immediately. Walter Christie appears to be alive with students, professors, and hanger-ons walking around, enjoying the day. The halftrack drives on through and through to the campus and onto The Factory, it rolls inside the huge building, where you see tanks undergoing restoration, replication, and renovation.

Juliette stops the truck, and you both step out, and who else but-

You smile and hug Perrine. She lifts you up in the air, squealing with joy. Your ribs. She puts you down right then and there and smiles. “What are you doing here?”

Juliette says, “She’s helping me deliver these cookies to you, Miss Hobart.”

Perrine blushes, giggling. “Oh! She called me, Miss Hobart, that’s amazing!” She clears her throat, offering her hand. “Please, call me Perrine.” Juliette shakes it, nodding. “So, you’re a Girl Scout, Gertrude?”

You shrug. “Not really.”

“Well, while you’re here. I oughta tell you something. We finally found a use for that German squeezebore gun we found, the Pak 41 75/55.” She motions over to a Panzer III, turret deconstructed and with a gun being lowered down into it. The bore especially appears to taper into a thinner end. “According to our friends in the Archaeology department, a prototype of a Panzer III Ausf. L fitted with a Pak 41 75/55 existed, but wasn’t put into production due to the lack of tungsten rounds.”

You say, “So, you’re just replicating?”

“Indeed!” says Perrine. “Say hello to the Panzer III Ausf. L mit Waffe 0725! Excellent muzzle velocity and penetration!”

“Cool,” you say. “So, what about the Chi-Ri then.”

Perrine is about to say something, but is interrupted by “The Chi-Ri will be ours when it is done.” The three of you look over to see a statuesque Japanese girl, flanked by two others in school uniforms.

Perrine slides over to her. “Kinuyo! Hugs!”

Kinuyo walks past her, leaving her in the dust without a hug. She walks up to you, looking a bit smug. “I’ve heard of you. Gertrude Pool. Am I right?”

I think we should stick with the original plan, but keep the team in two groups; ourselves, the Pzr, and Panther are the first, but allow the option for the mediums to break away from the heavies and create three if necessary. Seven mediums and heavies should do pretty well to protect themselves from cruisers I hope. It would help greatly just to keep them aware of a possible flank from the right.

Given our tanks and the quality of our own and the Aces' crew, I'm fairly confident that we can hold the castle and abbey from maybe two groups of three for long enough that our team can reinforce. All made even easier with a dedicated spotter on the tower.

Speaking of the spotter, I think it would benefit us greatly to find somebody and shanghai them into one of our tanks as an extra crewman, soley for the task of putting them on the tower. I don't think crews are specifically registered to ITL so it shouldn't be a problem. What could be a problem is that this spotter would have to have a WWII era radio set, right? Modern walkie-talkies or cellphones won't fly, right?

Basically, just keep in mind that there is no sure counter to their predicted strategy, and they could go all-in on seizing the bridge if they suspect that we suspect what we suspect. We have to emphasize flexibility I think. They love controlling the map, and I assume the flow of battle.
>>
>>29779179
well its a Pz III, so its agile, and in urban environments or deformed terrain it could get around it, but thats what the rest of our team is

Wouldn't bringing a non-tankery team member onto the field be against the rules for participating teams?

And I can't imagine you're allowed to leave your tank due to safety reasons.

>>
>>29779455

>>
>>29779492
They have a lot of plot armor

>>
>>29778333
I'm not sure how deep the Douve is, but I don't think it could be easily forded. Wikipedia calls it "a navigable river owing to its flat bottom and adequate depth of flow," which I take to mean that it's deep enough to accomodate river barges, and probably doesn't have gently sloping banks condusive to crossing. It has decent banks of trees on each side north of the bridge, but fewer to the south, though the river is wider there. Presumably it's more shallow there, so it seems more likely to see a fordable point, but the fields are much more open and just about anything that tries to cross could be seen from the copse of trees bordering D2 just east of the bridge.

If we can get into position in time, we can at least lock down the bridge and southern fields. Controlling the east side of the river is paramount, since it's more open and much more suited to William Adams' playstyle. If we can cross the bridge in time, we can force them into urban combat and play peekaboo among the buildings.
>>
>>29779552
Unless we're disembarking under fire, William Adams would have no reason to shoot at the spotter who is somewhere high up and they probably won't even know she's there.

Production grinds to a halt for everyone’s most favorite treat: Girl Scout Cookies. Juliette begins listing off and registering money as you start unloading and distributing cookies to people. Perrine herself buys most of it, and even Nishi buys a few small boxes.

Perrine munches on a thin mint. “Delicious!”

Juliette nods. “Yep. Our own little recipe. We do a lot of mail order stuff if you’re interested.”

“Oh very,” says Perrine. She looks over at you. “Oh, yeah. Gertrude, you coming to the Slumber Party tonight?”

You nod. “Yep. You?”

Perrine smiles, some crumbs on her cheeks. “Yeah! Bringing anyone?”

“Yeah, my secretary. She’s a bit quiet, but she’s eloquent in her native tongue to be precise.”

Perrine nods. “Spaniard?” You nod, understanding. “Cool. Actually, since you’re here. I bet you’re wondering about some of our surplus stuff. I’ve got a spare Hellcat chassis that isn’t planned. You want it?”

You blink. “Is it free?”

Perrine nods again. “Yeah. I got like another 20 or so. Want it?”

The Hellcat is wasted as a scout. It's physically much bigger than the Stuart, which makes it easier to spot, and the combination of speed and firepower makes it suitable as a reserve unit to react quickly to emergencies. Sending it out to find enemy units by having them shoot at it would be, to put it mildly, an inefficient use of resources.

As you’re being craned onto back onto Lafayette Girls Academy, you watch some more highlight reels of William Adams. Not much to learn or rely on, but you do note that seem to love open ground where they can freely maneuver.

And if that is denied, they have no problems with closer quarters brawling.

Juliette asks, “So Tankery’s dangerous right?”

You say, “All sports are dangerous. It’s actually quite rare for someone to get injured in Tankery. You know, many-ton death machines are actually designed to keep their crews safe.”

Juliette nods, pensive. You return to the highlight reel, and see a Cromwell tank close in on a Panther. What’s it doing? It immediately slams into the front corner of the Panther, knocking it a bit to the side. The Cromwell immediately reverses and puts a shot into the Panther’s turret ring.

> TACTICAL MANEUEVER AVAILABLE TO LEARN
> Hook and Jab – Cost to Learn: 15 CP
> Unlike the Honorable Approach, the Hook and Jab doesn’t emphasize fully slamming into the enemy tank. Instead, this is a very calculated ram to the corner of a tank, sending the tank spinning to the side or knocking the crew insensible, where you can put a point blank shot either to the rear or side.

Probably won’t work against tanks that are heavier than you.

You smile. “Girls, good to see you. Where’s Nancy?”

Lisa says, “Nancy’s still over at the Old Folks Home. She’ll be around for practice, don’t worry.”

Kitten gives you a paper bag filled with some very nice foodstuffs. “We brought lunch for you.”

You nod. “Anyone else?” No takers. “Alright, I suppose we’ll take the last kit. No objections?”

“Alright. We’ll start mounting those hedgecutters up.”

With that in mind, everyone begins the lengthy process of setting up the hedgerow cutters. As it turns out, it’s quite a difficult process that requires some welding, a bit of duct tape, and some good old tensile strength.

Keegan from the History club calls your Hedgerow cutters, “The Culin Hedgerow cutters. They were mostly an improvised kit to help break through the thick hedgerows during World War II. Technically your tank oughta be called a Rhino tank.”

You nod. “Thanks for that little fact, Keegan.”

After a few minutes of hard work, you check the cutters by kicking them a bit. Solid as a rock.

Kitten smiles. “Cool beans. Think we’ll make headway with this stuff?”

“Of course!” you say.

With that, Captain Dubois arrives, Sheridan tank and all. She hops on down, looking fit as a fiddle, clipboard in hand and eager smile on her face. “Alright, girls. Let’s do some girly things!”

You rhino your way through the fields, set up with all kinds of obstacles for your hedgerow cutters to just slice through. Technically speaking, they’re meant to cut through shrubs and plant life but crates, barrels, and other nonsense will just have to do for now.

You stand on the commander’s seat, turned out and leaning on the cupola. Ramirez as well is turned out of the loader’s hatch. You look around to see your tanks advancing behind you.

The advance is set up in a single file column. The point of this is to understand how to effectively maneuver as a group in a tight space like a road. The tanks behind you have their turrets traversed to the sides, covering your flanks. The caboose so to speak is the Churchill, which has its turret traversed all the way to the rear.

“Alright, girls,” says Dubois. “You’re under attack!”

You quickly raise the radio to your mouth. “Scatter!”

The tanks immediately turn in different directions in an efficient and calculated manner. No more crashes and the like.

“Attack over! Resume march!” says Dubois.

“Resume formation,” you shout. The tanks curl back into a straight single file line.

“Fire at will!”

Your tanks all shoot at the moving Teletank target. Of course, the only one to actually hit it is Michelle in their new Panzer IV Ausf. F2 with the long barreled L/43 75mm. You turn out and examine the Teletank with your binoculars. It’s shot in the turret. Everyone else’s shots splash rather dangerously close around it.

You look over at Ramirez, standing in the Loader’s hatch. “Ramirez. Load HVAP.”

Ramirez buttons up, then picks up the somewhat scarce HVAP round. As Dubois explained it earlier, the historical loadout for the Sherman was 97 rounds. Most of those were actually HE, but for the purposes of Tankery, the ITL presented the balanced loadout. Essentially, the loadout for HE and AP are switched around so that AP is the most common one.

Nancy fires on your command, and much to her delight, she hits the target square on in the side. “Yay! I did it!”

You pat Nancy on the shoulder. “Great, kid. Don’t get cocky. Ramirez, AP.”

Ramirez rams the AP shot into the breech.

The rest of Gunnery practice goes relatively the same, only you and the Aces are able to hit the target consistently. Everyone else misses or only hits every once in a while.

You yawn as you lie back on top of the turret. Kitten sits next to you on the gun mantlet. “Whoo. Practice is pretty fruitful today,” you say.

Kitten says, “Yeah. It’s really great. Everyone’s really improving.”

Nancy, Lisa, and Ramirez talk casually as they stand in front of Cupid the Sherman. You look down on them, wondering what they’re talking about.

Nancy says, “… so pickles.”

Lisa shakes her head. “Nah, not pickles.”

Ramirez in a rare show of initiative asks, “Why not pickles?”

“You can’t use pickles, pickles are shit.” says Lisa.

You quirk your brow. What the fuck are they talking about? You sit up and say, “Hey, Nancy. Girls. What are you talking about down there?”

They all look at each other, confused. They turn back to you and say, “We don’t know.”

Well, that figures.

You write down notes as Captain Dubois goes on about the specific shell type to use for the specific situation.

“… Now, be thankful you’re not working with low-velocity guns anymore. What do HEAT rounds do again?”

Cathy raises her hand. “Penetrate at the same value regardless of distance?”

“Of course,” says Dubois. “But also take into account armor sloping as well, plus the fact that there are better rounds than HEAT for different ranges.” She continues with, “And like I said earlier. There’s a great equilibrium between the Commander, and the Loader. Commander has to know which shell type to use, and the Loader has to get the round in quick and efficiently.”

Everyone pays attention at that. Nothing wrong with reviews.

Recognizing tanks based only on their topmost outlines, perhaps?
>>
>>29784192
No, they don't. They have no bridgelayers, and to my knowldege, none of their cruisers could be fitted with DDs and canvas floats. There's a single bridge, and there's a possible fording point south of it that involves swinging their asses in the breeze in a very open field with no concealment.
>>
>>29784192
I think one anon stated that we know they have the ability to bridge across, but I can't find any mention of it. It's possible, so we need to plan for the possibility that they'll flank and hit us on our side of the river.

It's difficult planning against a mobile force, especially if they know where we want to engage them. The best we can do is prepare and not be caught off-guard

“Now, for you Commanders. You need to be able to know how to identify specific tanks by silhouette. Right down to the specific variant.” She tugs down on the screen for a projector, then lets it go. The screen flies up, revealing the chalkboard and two very vague outlines of tanks. “Can anyone tell me what these tanks are?”

Kate raises her hand.

“Besides Kate.”

Kate rolls her eyes, then withdraws. Everyone else sort of struggles to tell what the tanks are.

Dales asks, “Can you give us a hint?”

Dubois nods. “They have a gun.”

Natalya says, “Wow. Didn’t realize that.” Everyone chuckles and laughs a bit.

Nancy raises her hand. “The first one is an M4 Sherman and the other one is a… Panzer IV?”

Dubois snaps her finger. “The exact variants are an M4A3 Sherman and a Panzer III ausf. N. Though for you radio operators, some handouts containing the specific silhouettes of the tanks will be provided. It’s generally advised you at least memorize the more iconic vehicles. Enemy identification is key to fight or flight.”

Dubois walks up to you. She asks, “So, Gertrude. Got anything you want to learn today?”

You all stand outside the Hangar, tired, a bit worn out, and some greasy (the Chi-Ha had a bit of an issue with the engine). But regardless, Captain Dubois, clad in her neat little Army dress uniform addresses you all. “Right, girls. Saturday’s your match with William Adams. I’ve been with you for quite a while, and I’ve seen you all grow into your positions in Tankery. I’m not for one speeches so I’ll just say it. Everyone shouts excitedly. “Alright!”

Keegan walks up to Dales. “Say, why’d your name your Sentinel ‘Popeye’?”

Dales smiles, looking over at the Sentinel tank. “Doesn’t it look like Popeye?”

“Um…” Keegan tilts her head a little, squinting her eyes behind her glasses. “Not really. No. Where are you getting the resemblance?”

Dales says, “Oh, you’re blind then. I mean, compared to what. Naming your tank ‘Xenophon’? What kind of name is that?”

Keegan scoffs, crossing her arms and grinning smugly. “Xenophon is only one of the most badass historians who’d ever lived! Wrote about the Peloponnesian War even!”

Dales looks at her funny. “Yeah, I have no idea who that is.”

“Tch, scrub.”

With that, Ramirez packs some things in the back of the Scout car. Sleeping bags, spare clothes, toothbrushes, etcetera. Everything you need for a slumber party. “We ready, Ramirez?”

“Sure.”

You hop into the passenger seat. “Right girls. We’ll see you at the Strategy meet tomorrow, okay?”

Your staff and Kitten standing outside the car nods. “Alright!” You lean out the side window, obviously expecting it. Kitten rolls her eyes, then pecks you on the cheek. “Don’t wait up, alright?” she says.

“We’ll be back before you know it, in the meantime, Kitten,” you point at Lisa. “Get Lisa’s room cleaned out or something.” You slap the side door. “Let’s roll, Ramirez.”

The M3 Scout Car blazes out of the Hangar and to the loading area. You hang on for dear life as Ramirez blasts through the roads, somehow managing to stay under the speed limit. The bags in the bag shake around, you wonder if this has seatbelts. You’re pretty sure it has seatbelts. Oh god this is it. You’re going to die. There’s so many things you wanted to do in life. Like get married, have a child, maintain a steady job. Maybe see Kitten get married too. You’ve always wanted to see that.

“We’re here.”

You blink. You’re still alive? You look around and sure enough, you are outside a very fancy looking dorm house at William Adams Naval Academy. Ain’t that something.“Wow, Ramirez,” you say. “Remind me never to let you drive again.”

“Okay.”

You both exit the Scout Car and walk up to the front porch. This is a pretty decent place for one person. You knock on the door, bags in hand. After a minute, the door opens, revealing a very unamused Anne Murphy. “Ah. It’s you two. How you doing?”

“Oh, I’m doing just dandy, Murphy!” You motion over to Ramirez. “You remember my secretary, Ramirez, right?”

Murphy points to her, a bemused smile on her face. “Aye, the quiet Latina bird.” She motions you all inside. “Ah, don’t stand in the porch, you look like a bunch of uptown Brassers. Come in, come in.”

You both step inside and are instantly amazed by how huge this dorm house is. Well, huge in comparison to your dorm. It’s like a regular suburban house. You’re in a little hallway with stairs leading up to the second floor. To the left is the living room with a giantass TV, a leather couch, some armchairs, a bookshelf. To the right is the dining area. Past the stairs is another room you can’t specifically identify because it’s dark, but you assume it leads into their backyard.

“This is huge!” you say. “How’d you get a place like this?”

Anne shrugs. “When you get good grades and you’re a Tankery Girl, you get first pick of the dorms.” She walks into the living room, and you all follow. On the couch, you see Victoria Adams, clad in a large sports jersey with the name “Wayne Rooney” on the back. She’s busy with something on a laptop. “Oi, Vicky. The dykes are here.”

You’re about to say something, when Victoria says, “Now, Anne. We don’t actually know if they’re gay or not. Try not to make assumptions.”

Anne rolls her eyes. “Aye, whatever. Where the feck is Mary?”

“Speak o’ the devil and she shall appear!” Stuart walks into the living room, white helmet on her head. Now that you noticed it, Anne is clad in her school uniform as well. “I oughta say, pullin’ firewatch tonight will be hellfire.” You also see Gwynedd Archer walk in. Stuart looks over at Victoria, then leans over her. “Oh good jove. Vicky, if there be a real confirmation that ye be a real flying dyke, it’s the fact that you’re wearing Wayne Rooney’s jersey.”

Victoria glares at Stuart. “What’s wrong with Wayne Rooney?”

“Everything.”

Anne says, “Anyway,” she checks her watch. “We oughta run. We’ll be back later tonight, yeah?”

Victoria smiles, smugly even. “Well, good fire watch to the three of you then. Count your stars that it’s not raining.”

Stuart rolls her eyes. “Archer, take point. Anne, sing us a song.”

Anne nods.

Now Queen Vicky, she lifts her skirt
And paints the rainbow on her shirt,
But like her, no one else is gay,
Over the Hills and Far Away!

The two of them join in the chorus as they walk out.

Over the hills and o’er the main,
To Flanders, Portugal, and Spain,
The Queen commands, and we obey,
Over the Hills and Far away!

Now that you look at it, you still don’t actually have any nice pajamas. Ah to hell with it, your spare blouse from your school uniform and underwear will suffice. It’s not like there are guys on-

Wait.

Once you’re free from your skirt and start buttoning up your blouse, you ask Victoria, “Are there are any guys on this ship?”

Victoria looks at you, smirking. “Why, are you hoping they’re creeping on us or something?”

You wheeze, laughing. “I’m just asking.”

“Well,” says Victoria. “William Adams is co-ed. But guys generally keep to themselves. Though, if they knew what you were wearing…” Victoria sizes you up as you stand in your blouse and your pretty pink panties. You cough, and immediately Victoria regains eye contact with you.

Ramirez walks back into the living room, clad in some simple purple pajamas. “Nice jammies, Ramirez,” you say.

Ramirez nods. “Thanks.”

Victoria says, “Hm. Does that happen a lot?”

“Yeah, you should just get used to it.” There’s a knock at the door. Ramirez walks over and answers the door, and is immediately taken in a surprise bearhug by Perrine.

“Ramirez! Hugs!”

Ramirez coughs, struggling to get free. Perrine walks over, your secretary still in her arms. She’s wearing her school uniform, olive blazer, white blouse, and a plaid miniskirt. “Ah, Gertrude, good to see you…” she looks you up and down. You snap your fingers, getting her attention.

Victoria says, “I got dinner prepared in the kitchen. It’s just some nice little burgers and such, I know you colonials love them.”

The sun has already gone down on the day. You walk around in the warmly lit dorm house, noting that it feels really lived in. You took a look upstairs to see the various rooms of the four residents. You decided not to go inside any of them though, for their privacy.

You end up in the dining room and see a bunch of photos lined on the wall. It’s of various days in the life of the William Adams Naval Academy Tankery Team. One photo strikes the most however, is of Victoria, Gwynedd, Anne, and Mary standing in front of a Cruiser IV tank. They look happy, not argumentative or vitriolic. Just plain happy to be there.

“That Cruiser-“ you jump a bit as you realize Victoria’s standing behind you, “-got sold with all the rest. But we loved that thing. Really took us places you know?”

Perrine walks over, handing you a burger which you take graciously. Perrine has mostly opted for just a nice silk pink nightgown. “That’s so sweet,” she says.

Victoria scoffs. “Bah, those days are long gone, you know? We got today.” She looks over at Perrine. “Cute nightgown.” Perrine smiles, blushing. “Uh, Gertrude, would you mind getting us all a drink?

You nod. “Sure.” You walk over to the fridge and open it up.

You look back. “What do you want?”

“Uh, just pull out the wine, will you?” asks Victoria. Wine? They have wine? You check and on yooooooo they do have wine.

“Why do you have wine?” as you pull the bottle out.

Victoria says, “Why don’t you have wine?”

“Because I’m under 21,” you say. “What’s the drinking age in England?”

“18.”

… what. That’s not fair at all. You look down at the bottle. Just some generic brand. You hand the bottle over to Victoria, who pulls some glasses out for everyone. You’re a bit wary though. She hands a glass to Perrine, you, then Ramirez, then pours a bit of wine for everyone, including herself. “Right then,” she says, raising her glass. “Cheers.” You all tap your glasses together and take a drink. Why is everyone so eager to drink? You take a sip of it.

… wow. Doesn’t actually taste that bad. You might want to pace yourself.

Perrine blinks a bit. “Hm. Tastes a bit weird.”

Victoria says, “That’s alcohol for you.” She leads you back into the living room, taking the wine bottle with her. “Right, I got movies. Which movie should we watch?”

YOOOOOOOOO THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!

“Yoooo!” Perrine cheers as the giant robot thing punches the giant undersea interdimensional alien thing. “Hahaha!” She laughs, wine glass in hand, her third glass. Yeah, she must be a bit buzzed. “This be some really sweet shit ma cher!” She wraps her arm around you and Victoria.

Victoria simply rolls her eyes, taking another sip of wine. You however, haven’t really touched yours. You haven’t found a reason too.

Meanwhile, on one of the armchairs, Ramirez watches the movie, inhaling popcorn at an incredible rate. Where did she even get that?

“Ce film est une grande!” says Perrine. “Oh boy, uh, Gertrude. Tell me something, you’re enjoying yourself aintcha? Cause I really am enjoying moi-meme.”

You nod. “Sure! I’m having some great fun with you all!”

“Oh, c’est tres grande, then!” She flips over on the couch, legs in the air, arms on the floor. You blush as the skirt of her nightgown rolls up onto her chest.

Victoria says, “Okay, might’ve been a bad idea to break out the wine.”

You look over at her. “Gee. You think?” You take a sip of wine. Now you’ve found a reason to drink.

The movie’s over by then and you realize that Perrine and Ramirez have gotten a few drinks inside of them.

“… so then, what happens next is the guy runs right into the car, bounces into another car and just flies right into the subway entrance!” says Ramirez. She’s actually expressing herself, mostly a story from her days in New York. Perrine meanwhile is listening attentively.

“Oh, c’est horrible! Wha’ happen to dat po ol’ boy?” says Perrine. You noticed that she seems to be lapsing into her native Cajun accent. Something that you had to explain a bit to Victoria.

“Well, he was in the hospital, but man he was pissed when he saw the medical bill! But you want to know the funny part?” says Ramirez, smirking. “He switched his major. He’s in Medical school now!”

The both of them burst out laughing.

This is too foreign. You sit down on the couch with Victoria, who’s idly taking a few drinks of wine. The sleeping bags have already been set up on the floor of the Living Room.

You pull out your cellphone and call Lisa.

“Hey, Boss, what’s up?”

“No talking, just listen.” You put it on speakerphone then leave it on the floor next to Ramirez and Perrine.

Ramirez says, “… and I tell you something! It’s a real hell of a thing because not only did one kid get busted for selling drugs out of his locker, but another kid got busted for prostituting herself!”

Perrine wheezes out a bit of laughter. “No way! Sacredieu! Dat’s a fuckin’ hive a scum n’ villainy if Ah ever lay my eyes on it!”

Lisa says, “… is that Ramirez?”

You pick the phone back up. “Yep. Don’t ask how I did it.”

“Goodness,” says Lisa.

“Anyway,” you say, “Tell Kitten I said Hi.”

Perrine and Ramirez looks over at you. “Oh! That’s right!” says Ramirez. You quickly hang up. You can see where this is going. “Prez, are you gay or something? Because I see you do lots and lots of stuff with Kitten, and it’s just weird!”

You say, “I plead the 5th, Ramirez.”

Perrine stands up, blush overtaking her face. “Now, hol’ on just a damn minute! Y’all do do dhat stuff with each other! And it’s really fucking HOT!”

You tilt your head, looking at her like she’s nuts. She probably is. “… pardon?” you say.

Perrine nods, smiling. “Yeah! It is!”

Victoria says, “It totally is.”

“YOU’RE NOT HELPING!” you turn around to shout at her. Suddenly, you feel your breasts get grabbed at from behind. “AH! WHAT THE FUCK!?”

“Oh! Your tits feel amazing!” screams Perrine.

You forced down on your knees, trying to get leverage on Perrine. “Let go!” you shout. “Ramirez! Pull her off!” Ramirez is sober enough to obey that at least as she begins trying to pry Perrine off your back. Victoria meanwhile just sits on the couch, watching the antics with stoic glee.

You’re able to flex your hands a bit to get at Perrine’s hips. Just enough to…

“AHAHA!” She throws herself back, you along with her. Ramirez is immediately beneath the two of you. “AHAHA! DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH! I’M GONNA PEE! I’M GONNA PEE!” You and her roll over to the side, and Ramirez stands up and quickly redoubles her efforts to pull her off.

Everyone freezes as the door opens and who else walks in but Anne, Mary, and Gwynedd. They turn to you, then lean in and turn to Victoria. The expressions on their faces tell you that this shit must happen a lot. You and Perrine simply lie there, her hands still on your tits, your shirt nearly opened up to the world at large. Ramirez as well stands there with her hands on Perrine’s arms.

Anne says, “Lemme guess. Not what it looks like?”

Victoria says, “Yeah.”

Stuart nods. “Aye.”

Anne turns around and begins singing again.

Now let us beat feet out of here,

The three march out again, the Irish and Scottish girl singing the chorus.

Over the hills and o’er the main,

The Queen commands and we obey,
Over the Hills and Far Away!

Well, that was awkward.

You all lie in your sleeping bags, while Victoria takes the incredibly comfortable couch with a very thick blanket. You envy her just a smidge.

Perrine says, “Desole, Gertrude. Dat was outta line I say.”

You wave her off, smiling. “It’s fine, Perrine. Nobody got hurt.” Physically at least.

Perrine rolls over in her sleeping bag, struggling a bit, then reaches into her dufflebag. She pulls out the absolute last thing you’d expect: A Bandaged Bear. “Alrighty, Teddy, ready for bed?” she asks him.

You ask her, “You have one of those too? My treasurer has one. I thought they were just for kids.”

Victoria smiles. “Hey, I like them. I don’t own them myself but they’re cute.”

Ramirez nods. “Funny how Lisa calls her bear Mr. Chuckles.” You and Ramirez chortle a bit at Lisa’s expense.

Perrine kisses her bear on the nose, then turns to you. “Speaking of which though, have you guys ever kissed anyone?”

Ramirez says, “Where’d that come from?”

Perrine frowns, sighing. “I’m just wondering.”

Victoria says, “I’ve kissed someone. Real nice girl my first year-“ Wait what she’s actually gay WHA- “Tasted like strawberries she did.” Victoria sighs blissfully. She looks down at you. “You have your first kiss yet?”

“No,” you say as you blush a little, rubbing the back of your head. “Can’t say I’ve ever had my first kiss.”

Perrine leans over, arms wide. “Then lemme fix that for you! I’ll-“

You push her head back. “Perrine, no.”

Perrine whines a little as she scoots back. Victoria says, “Oh, that’s a shame, Gertrude. So you haven’t kissed your girlfriend yet I assume then?”

“No I haven-“ wait what “Wait. What?”

Victoria looks at you, confused. “Isn’t that little girl, Kitten, your girlfriend?”

You shake your head violently. “No! She’s my best friend! Where’d you get that impression?” She points to Perrine. “Perrine, what did you show her?”

Perrine whistles innocently. “Oooooh… just a picture of you tickling her at that carwash.” She pulls out her smartphone, beaming. “I also have other pictures too!” She slides across to you. “That’s me with Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye. That’s me on the set of Mythbusters! That’s me with Mike Rowe during filming of Dirty Jobs! That’s me with some NASA scientists and the Mars Rover! “Perrine, are you stalking me?” you ask.

“Oh, noooo…” Perrine slides back. “Just in the right place at the right time.”

Victoria turns out the lights. “Speaking of the right time though. I think we best get to sleep. I got practice in the morning.”

You nod. “Alright. Sweet dreams everyone.”

Ramirez nods. “Nighty night.”

Perrine says, “Bonne nuit.”

Everyone settles into their own little areas. Soon, you find yourself drifting off to sleep.

What should we do tomorrow guys?

try to make more money? or start the Freshmen loyalty quest?
>>
>>29789513
Good question. We have our purchases straight, and research done. Not really time for practice either.

I say we try to raise morale for History Club, Aces, and Delinquents. We can ask Nancy about it I guess.
Other then that we should start on the Freshmen loyalty quest.
>>
>>29789617
I really want to upgrade the Chi-ha but we don't have the time for that.

So yeah, Freshman
>>
>>29789513
Well, the main thing for tomorrow is the briefing for the match.
There were talks of scheduling an extra day of training.

Personally, I'd want to make some headway for the Sewing Club loyalty quest. Since they are our flag tank for the match, we don't want them to be excessively burdened by outside worries.

But then, the best time to settle that as well as the Aviation Club subquest would be Sunday (for preparations, registrations, etc.) and Monday (Student Council meeting, we make our case on behalf of the Sewing Club and Aviators)

But in case the Freshmen subquest is a go, we should try to make contact with one of the Naval Engineers who wanted to host her own radio show (?). We might be able to align some mutual interest.
>>
>>29789910
Both the Aviation and the Sewing can be solved on Monday, since we can apply them
>>
>>29789910
Still think a benefit concert is in the works too, to raise money for the Tankery program and get them more awareness.
>>
>>29789987
Gah, forgot to add it, but since they play folk music and the like, it might appeal to some of the girls in William Adams. We could do it before shore leave ends.
>>
>>29789910
I really think we should raise morale. Two crews are right on the threshold between Confident and Brave. I don't know the mechanical advantage of that but it's probably worth doing.
>>
>>29789910
Sounds like a good plan but most likely Sinday is celebration day *if we win*

I'm really nervious and impatient that we will have to wait another weekend to the match
