Rules & Char Sheet: http://pastebin.com/ZxSz1cae

>All rolls are best of three d20s, 1s are *not* critfails.

You take a moment to do some inventory on your situation.

Lingering problems: Exile Incubator to kill, your imminent death, what's up with that chick that followed you when you and Tracy went on a date, Healer Incubator recruitment (sitting on it for now), Richard's stalker, and you currently have a butterfly knife wrapped up and shoved into your nether regions.

Okay, yeah, last one takes precedence.

You walk into the nearby convenience store, go into the bathroom (fortunately it has those one toilet bathrooms with the lock on the door), and ever so carefully remove it. You wince a little as you do, but there is a feeling of relief with that job done.

Ew.

You make sure to wash it a few times before drying it off, wrapping it back up (different cloth, naturally; the old one gets binned), and putting it in your purse.

>Call up Ned, see how he's doing, if he wants to just hang out as friends.
>Study until tomorrow.
>See about manufacturing some explosives.
>Write-in.
>>
>>29777770
Let's leave Ned alone for now.
>See about manufacturing some explosives.
We need ammunition!
>>
>>29777770
>See about manufacturing some explosives.
We need at least a grenade launcher before we take on any more incubators.
>>
>>29777803
>>29777811
I should clarify that "explosives" here refers to grenades, mines, or the like. Not grenade launchers, rockets or the like, which are a bit out of your ability/price range.
>>
>>29777890
Grenades and mines will be fine.
>>
>>29777890
If we can build a grenade, I'm fairly certain we can build a grenade launcher. It won't be fancy but it should get the job done.
>>
>>29777960
It doesn't matter anyway because the mechanics would be abstracted to the point of indistinguishability.
>>
>>29778225
Works for me.
I'm also interested to see if we can hit a man-sized target with a small kinetic rocket from any real distance. Literally just a model rocket with a large metal bolt glued to the end.
>>
If there's one thing you learned from the recent fight with the Healer Incubator, it's that bullets hurt and you'd prefer not to get shot with them again. That may technically be two things, but the point stands.

Next time you're fighting with another Incubator, you want overwhelming firepower, not a fair fight.

You head over to a large department store, and pick up a variety of items with a small smattering that contain useful materials for manufacturing explosives and incendiaries. It's not enough for a lot of explosives, but you don't want to risk catching someone's attention by buying too much at once. Plus, your pockets aren't infinitely deep. Buying all these phones has already taken a good chunk out of your spending money.

In any case, the necessary materials are now spread through a number of shopping bags you're carrying on your person.

Now...
>Let's get to manufacturing this shit. In some abandoned area. (will require checks for both stealth and building the explosives)
>Let's get to manufacturing this shit. At home. (will require check for building the explosives, but if you fuck it up, you'll have some serious explaining to do)
>Let's hold off on manufacturing it until we can come up with an idea of how and where to hide it. [Do what instead?]
>>
>>29778459
>>Let's get to manufacturing this shit. In some abandoned area. (will require checks for both stealth and building the explosives)

This. We should find some place where you and Richard can test shit out without terrible cop issues.
>>
>>29778459
>Locate an abandoned area before manufacturing anything. Maybe Richard has some ideas?
>>
>>29778459
>Let's get to manufacturing this shit. In some abandoned area. (will require checks for both stealth and building the explosives)
Let's not involve Richard yet, would be good to get some independent practice.
>>
>>29778522
>>29778740
Okay, roll three 2d20s. First is an Intelligence check for finding a good post, DC 18. Second is an Intelligence check for building explosives, DC 20 (DC 12 to not blow yourself up).

(remember, you have an Intelligence bonus of 6)
>>
Rolled 3, 12, 6 = 21

>>29778786
>>
Rolled 14, 14 = 28

>>29778786
Well, here's one of them! C'mon crafting!
>>
Rolled 7, 20 = 27

>>29778786
This should be a laugh one way or another.
>>
Rolled 10, 15 = 25

>>29778786
Wait, so we need to get 18+ and 20+ on a d20? Even with 3 rolls that's not gonna happen...
>>
>>29778817
Well, impressive 20 on building, but I can't see any18+ on stealth so it might just have been wasted...
>>
>>29778797
>>29778810
>>29778817
Finding a good spot: 14+6 versus DC 18, success!
Building explosives: 20+6 versus DC 20, success!

>writing

>>29778834
No, you need to get a 12+ and a 14+, because of your Intelligence score.
>>
You manage to find your way into a secluded lot in a largely abandoned neighborhood. The buildings on either side are empty, insofar as you can determine, save perhaps a few squatters.

With the materials at hand, you set about to work, mixing and matching chemicals, breaking devices down to get at some of their components... eventually, you have some quite explosive chemicals in several different small vials. They'll only go off if exposed to an open flame, so there's no real worry of a poorly timed explosion at the moment. Finishing off the mechanisms can probably wait, and you don't have the materials to finalize things at the moment anyway.

It took a couple hours to do properly, but fortunately your spot really was as secluded as you'd thought.

What now?
>Write-in.
>>
>>29779159
What time is it? Either way, stash our explosives somewhere safe-looking and head home first of all.
>>
>>29779159
Head home for now.
>>
>>29779218
I don't know. You got out of school, went to the meet with the Healer at 5, so... does 8:30-ish sound about right?
>>
>>29779296
That should give us an hour or two when we get home to draw up designs for firing mechanisms. No sense doing it out here.
>>
You find a spot of dirt in the abandoned lot and dig it up before burying your explosives within. It may not be ideal but... it should do. This place really does not look like it gets much foot traffic.

With that done, you take the remainder of your supplies, dump the trash, and head home, stomach growling all the while. You fix yourself up a quick meal and chow down. Little point in preparing anything for your mother; you can tell by the way the kitchen's reorganized itself that she's already gotten herself dinner. In the form of a bag of Doritos. Judging by the state of the bathroom when you arrive there after finishing your own meal, she ate on the toilet.

Disgusting.

Regardless, it's Thursday, 9:22 PM, and you've just eaten a late dinner.

>Study [what?; you're closing in on the end of your study planner].
>Sleep.
>Prep [how?].
>Write-in.
>>
>>29780186
>Check on mom, then study
Might as well see if we can salvage something. And we need to get our studying done.
>>
>>29780186
>>Sleep
Eh.
>>
>>29780186
>Study
metallurgy and metalworking
>>
You go check up on your mother, knocking on the door and provoking a startled jump.

"Wh-what?" She asks, voice quivering.

"Just... making sure you're okay, Mom." A twinge of guilt ripples through you. Maybe if you hadn't... well, it's too late now, in any case.

"I'm fine. Everything's fine. Why did you take so long to get home?"

"I was meeting some people, working on a project, you know."

"Uh-huh," she responds. "Nothing's wrong? You're not... hurt, or anything, are you?"

"No, Mom. I'm fine." You sigh audibly.

"Oh... okay," she says.

With that, the conversation dies quietly.

You head to your room and study up on robotics, browsing the internet to learn all that you can.

>Robotics: 40%.

At around midnight, you yawn, eyes bleary, and curl up on your bed, hugging your pillow and mumbling as you drift off into sleep.

In the morning, you wake up with just barely enough time to rush your way over to school.

Morning classes pass with you working your way through some print-outs you made on the subject of robotics.

>Robotics: 60%

You arrive at lunch, meeting up with Ned and Tracy.

>Invite Richard to join you maybe??
>Fuck me, I'm tired, you write-in something to say or ask or do during lunch.
>>
>>29780985
I say we should probably try to keep our regular life and Incubator life a bit separate. Not much interacting with Richard or others in public.
Just shoot the shit, ask if they have any ideas for an outing or something together, complain about studies and mom, that kind of thing.
>>
>>29780985
>don't invite Richard over
>just chat with ned and tracy, maybe ask ned about how things have been going
>>
>>29780985
is there anything new we have to talk to Ned and Tracy about? I think we've talked with them a lot recently. We of course don't want to bring up any of the cambion related activities.
>>
I'm sorry for taking so long on this one, I am tired as fuck. I think it'll be the last one for the day. Sorry for the short session.
>>
>>29782239
That's okay, pretty slow material this time too.
>>
"So, Ned, how are things going?"

"Oh, you know," Ned says with a shrug, "they've been going. Been attending church, chatting with Veronica a little bit. We've got a date set up for Saturday."

"That's nice," you say with a nod and pleasant smile. "Getting a girlfriend is a pretty good feeling, isn't it?"

"It's a little early to go around calling her my girlfriend," Ned prevaricates.

"Mmm," you hum in agreement. "Have you done any kissy-kissy things with her yet?"

Ned scowls at you. "No. And don't call it that. You sound like a five year old."

"A five year old who's done kissy-kissy things with a girl, unlike you. Oh, maybe she's not that attracted to you after all," you say, nodding to yourself. "It was probably just the rush from..." you trail off, "whatever happened."

"Dude," Ned says, annoyed by your teasing, "come on."

"Yeah, Abby," Tracy says, "come on. Just because Ned will never do kissy-kissy things with a girl is no reason to make fun of him."

"You're corrupting her!" Ned cries in mock horror. "Turning her into your villainous side kick in making fun of me!"

"One day, Ned, you may be able to make fun of me," you reply, calmly. "But probably not."

"There is so much to make fun of about you, you don't even know."

"And yet, here we sit," you say, eyes closed, posture prim.

Your discussion meanders into classes and family. All good things must come to an end, however, and when the bell rings, you head back to class. You've run out of materials to study, so you're forced to just let your mind wander.

When the school day finally ends, Richard comes up to you after classes, in the rush of the halls.

"Our Exile 'friend' will probably be doing her thing later today. Meet up for some strategy?"

>THREAD END.

>>29782349
Alright, looking forward to next time!

Thanks OP!

Also get some sleep, jesus Christ
you've been tired the last 3 threads or something
today is a Saturday too
don't neglect your health
health is important

>you've been tired the last 3 threads or something
I get sleep, just at the wrong times. Right now, my sleep cycle is like, 6-8, then 2-8. Or some other such bullshit.

I finally broke down and bought melatonin the day before yesterday. Wish me luck.
>>
>>29782481
good luck

be safe
