You are ALICE. You were once a magical girl, but have now ended up having to hunt down your former comrades. As a member of the Magical Girl Hunter Bureau, it is your job to defend humanity from the Magical Menace!

After taking a brief visit to one of the Bureau's top secret research labs, you're now face to face with their latest artificial Invader. Unlike the Invaders you fought before, both as a Magical Girl and as a Hunter, this one was humanoid in shape. Invaders were typically insect or animal-like, and not very intelligent, either. The Invader, covered in a thick, black carapace, lies still in the sealed tube it's locked in. However, you can detect the barest traces of movement as it breathes.

"It's being kept in a state of artificial hibernation." Egan explains, walking up next to the tube. "We keep it like this whenever we're not testing or teaching it."

"Teaching?" You blink.

"Of course. The reason it's humanoid is because we're giving it human-level intelligence. The problem with the current line of Stalkers is that they're creatures of instinct, so they're rather difficult to control, and as you've seen multiple times, tend to get themselves killed a lot. Not very economical. This here, the Nemesis series, is designed to be able to take and comprehend orders, as well as directly communicate with Stalkers to coordinate them better. And, you know, all that other cool Invader stuff that makes them super killy and tough to kill. So, what do you think?"

"Huh..." You narrow your eyes as you take a closer look at sleeping Invader.

"Laaaaaaaame." You pout. "I was expecting something fluffy, like a dog, or a kitten."

"We spend billions of dollars engineering the perfect Magical Girl killing machine, and your only criticism is that it's not fluffy enough?" Egan raises an eyebrow.

"Yes, Egan, that's exactly what I'm saying." You nod.

"...noted." Egan says, writing something down on her notepad.

This fucking scientist.

"Anyways, on a more serious note, this does make me a bit nervous." You admit. "What makes you think you can control it if it's going to be as smart as us?"

"Well, assuming the indoctrination we're feeding it doesn't work, we do have failsafes in place." Egan says. "Like the Stalkers, we've implanted genetic safeguards where it needs a specific, artificially synthesized protein to function normally. Without it its bodily functions would shut down."

"Eh, I'm not entirely convinced." You say, trying to suppress a shudder."

"Yeah, don't know? Life will always find a way." Leo adds in.

"We'll see about that." Egan shrugs. "Either way, it's still in testing phases. You won't be seeing it anytime soon. Aaaaaand, our time is up. Time to go."

With that, Egan guides you and Leo back up to the ground level and out of the lab, where the M-ATV is waiting for you.

"Sorry, but this is where we'll have to part was." Egan says. "My place is in the lab, so I guess you two can do whatever you do when you're both alone together.

"Why are you winking like that?" You scowl.

"No reason."

With that, you and Leo enter the M-ATV and drive off back toward the main base. Again, you pass by a knot of recruits as their running laps around the field.

"So, what exactly ARE you planning to do?" Leo asks. "We have two entire weeks to waste."

Speaking of the companion juice, had a thought about that stuff after the last thread.

Magical girls are created when Companions give magic away to normal girls. We killed our companion for reasons, yet he obviously isn't fully dead because he can still appear in our dreams. At the same time, our magical powers haven't fully disappeared. Lets say that these two things are connected. Either what is left of Loki is sustaining our magic, or what is left of our magic is sustaining Loki. If it's the latter, what happens if we take the companion juice and get a big burst of magic? Does Loki come back?

Too paranoid, or not paranoid enough?
>>
>>29861930
I was wondering about that too, do we got old powers, or get new ones? Does it temporary establish a contract with Loki, or a new companion, or it's completely different than establishing a contract?

And most importantly, once we get powers again, do we get a transformation sequence, and is it our old outfit, or a new one?
>>
>>29861930
The right amount of paranoid. You should be paranoid to ask questions, but not paranoid enough to shoot anyone who looks at you funny.
>>
>>29862006

"I think we could try getting the rookies into shape. By terrorizing them." You grin evilly.

"I don't think scaring the pants off them is an effective learning tool." Leo sighs and shakes his head.

"Nonsense! Terror is the best educational tool!" You bob your head rapidly. "You wouldn't learn anything new otherwise!"

"Remind me to never let you get involved with anything close to resembling education."

"Such little faith!" You roll your eyes.

Finally, the M-ATV pulls to a stop in front of the officers' barracks. Unlike the barracks the rookies sleep in, which are entirely communal, the officers all had their own personal rooms and facilities, which was a nice perk. You leap out of the M-ATV and stretch your legs.

"I really shouldn't be asking this," Leo sighs, "but what exactly are you planning to do to them this time?"

"Well..."

If I learned anything from pen and paper RPGs is that there are 2 ways to do anti-magic:
1. Nullify the magic completely by removing magical energy.
2. Amplify it so much that the user cannot reliable control it or risk losing control of their spells and abilities.

"By being me, duh." You grin.

"That... does not make me feel better at all." Leo sighs.

---

Thankfully, you have a dreamless sleep that night. No sense having that damn cat ruining everything for you like he already has.

---

You actually get up relatively early in the morning for once, since you're eager to get straight to drilling the rookies. You decide to bring along the Goo Gun (you still gotta figure out a better name for the thing) just for kicks. Nothing like shooting a disobedient rookie in the face with a paralytic to make him shut up. You then make your way over to the rookie barracks, where you see the drill instructors have already roused their charges and have made them stand at attention. Trying to hide your grin, you step into the barracks.

"OFFICER ON DECK!" One of the drill sergeants yells.

Instinctively, the rookies snap to attention and salute. However, the pure gold doesn't come until they get a better look at you and realize who you are. You can see several dozen faces suddenly pale at the sight of you.

During Hell Week, candidates participate in five and a half days of continuous training, each candidate sleeps at most four hours during the entire week and runs more than 200 miles and does physical training for more than 20 hours per day. The remaining three weeks involve the acquisition of various methods of conducting hydrographic surveys and creating a hydrographic chart.

You decide to shake things up this year. No doubt the rookies here already heard the rumors of how much of an alpha bitch you were, so maybe playing some mind games with them was in order.

And so you summon up your hidden trump card.

"Hello everybody~!" You say in the most sickeningly high pitched toned you can manage. "How are you all doing today?"

As one, all of the rookies blink in confusion and look around trying to figure out what's going on. Oh, it's definitely working. Then one of the instructors, one of the older ones, steps forward.

"THE NICE LADY HERE ASKED YOU A QUESTION, AND YOU WILL ANSWER IT, MAGGOTS!" He bellows.

"SIR YES SIR!" The rookies snap back to attention. "WE'RE DOING FINE, MA'AM!"

"Great!" You smile and nod. "Now, I'm real proud that you all made it this far, and I think that deserves a reward!"

Heh, now you were starting to reel them in. The rookies start to lean forward, interested in what you were about to say.

Straight into the trap.

"HELL WEEK~!" You say cheerfully. "Now get your asses out into the field or I'll pop a cap in your ass~!"

Again, the rookies look at each other in confusion. You sigh and take a deep breath.

"DID I FUCKING STUTTER OR SOMETHING?!" You yell, reverting back to your "normal" self. "GET YOUR ASSES OUT THERE OR I WILL RAM YOUR DICKS SO FAR UP YOUR ASSES YOU'LL BE GIVING YOURSELVES BLOWJOBS!"

Now THAT got them moving, and the rookies basically bolt out of the barracks like it was on fire.

"Ah, that's Alice we know and love." One of the drill instructors chuckles. "So what are you planning to do to them this week?"

>Eh, I'm just gonna take it easy, post up on some high grade, lay back, and fire rubber bullets at random rookies.

"Oh, Pinky? Of course we do!" The drill instructor chuckles. "We always keep her fixed up and ready to go! We even updated the playlist for you!"

"Awesome." Set them up for physical exercise, but don't tell them a fucking thing, all right?"

"Got it."

"Thanks." You grin and literally almost prance out of the barracks, but you don't because the DIs were still around and you had an image to uphold. You see Leo waiting outside.

"I see you've been busy." Leo says, looking at the rookies. "They didn't seem keen on staying inside."

"Yeah, well I thought they needed some fresh air." You shrug. "Now come on, we're going to the motorpool."

Leo's eye twitches as the realization dawns on him.

"We're not bringing Pinky out again are we?"

"We sure as shit are." You laugh.

You open the garage door to the motor pool and there she is, your pride and joy. Pinky was not just your standard Humvee. She a souped up engine, better suspension, some hydraulics just for kicks, and an external speaker system to blare out intimidating music. On the top, it had a pintle mounted MG modified to fire nonlethal pellets.

Oh right, and being painted completely pink. You were particularly proud of that last touch.

You had WAAAAAAAAY too much fun with this baby a few years back. It was a shame you never took her out for a spin more often.

"I assume you're the one that's going to do the shooting." Leo sighs.

"My, such an observant subordinate!" You grin, slapping Leo on the back. "

With that, Pinky's engine roars to life, as if hungry for the souls of rookies. You couldn't blame her, really, being stuck in a dusty garage this whole time.

In the distance, you can see the rookies doing exercises in the field.

"Because I don't." Leo shakes his head. "I don't see any point in this."

"Oh come on, it's educational!"

"HOW?!"

"Well, first of all, I'm trying to make the rookies associate pretty pink things and crappy J-Pop with pants shitting terror so they react accordingly. It's fucking proven science, man. Pavlov says so!"

"I don't think Pavlov is the kind of guy you want to be learning from..."

"Shut up and drive."

Finally, Leo pulls Pinky right up to the berm you pointed out. On the other side, you could hear the rookies still doing their exercises. Even though Pinky's engines were rather loud, Humvees were common enough on the base that their engine noise didn't really draw attention.

Well, it's time to ACTIVATE IT.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mUqfXpMKxI

The speakers begin to blare at the same time Pinky's engine roars. The Humvee catapults over the berm, hitting the dirt below with a loud THUMP as the vehicle's suspension absorbs the shock of the impact.

At first, the rookies are bewildered and just stand and stare. They haven't learned to properly fear Pinky.

Yet.

You pull the trigger on the mounted MG, showering the rookies with stinging pellets. With the message delivered the rookies began to flee.

"Herd em together, Leo, don't let them get away!" You yell as you continue firing pellets.

With cool efficiency, Leo swings Pinky around and starts driving in a wide circle around the field, with you continuing to fire at rookies caught in the open. Eventually, they all start herding together into a big clump.

Now, this was where the rookies would make it or break it. Either the sheer terror would overwhelm all of them, or they'd actually fucking do something about it.

And to your great surprise, they do.

While not actually trying to escape or attack you, you see the rookies doing something that you have to admit was pretty novel. As the rookies on the outer ring of the group take hits from the pellets, the rookies that were relatively protected in the center would switch places with them so that no one rookie would take too much punishment.

Smart little bastards.

"All right, we're done here for now." You say. "Let's take Pinky home."

"Got it." Leo nods and disengages.

The rest of the week goes the same way. As the rookies have handle their normal Hell Week regimens, you'd stage surprise attacks, either on foot or in Pinky. At first, the rookies would panic like a bunch of little kids, but you notice that slowly, and surely, their reactions become less and less fear and panic driven and more responsive and calculating. They'd scatter in designated groups, and kept close to areas they could use as cover.

Well, it was the last day of Hell Week, and you had one final surprise for them.

"No, Alice. I'm not going to do it." Leo shakes his adamantly.

"Come on, it's only for a couple hours, and it's not like anybody would know!" You say.

"No! I'm not wearing that thing!"

"What? But I think it'll look cute on you!" You say, holding up the bright pink, frilly dress. "I even sized it specifically for you!"

"No. Nonononononono you're not getting me into that!" Leo shakes his head rapidly. "Why don't you wear it?"

"Pffft, I wouldn't be caught dead in a getup like this." You roll your eyes. "Now quit bitching and take it like a man."

"F-Fine! You can have your stupid picture" You say reluctantly, you face getting hot. "But if I catch you getting off to it, I'll fucking kill you! If you try to blackmail me with it, I'll fucking kill you, and if I see anybody other than you with one, I'll-"

"-fucking kill me, I get it." Leo laughs.

Then, the both of you stand there awkwardly looking at each other.

"What, are you expecting me to just strip naked in front of you?" You grunt.

"Oh, right, sorry!" Leo quickly exits the room.

"Stupid Leo. Stupid dress. Stupid Magical Girls." You grumble as you shirk off the uniform and put the dress on.

Huh, second thought, you don't look that ba-

NO! FOCUS, ALICE, FOCUS!"

"Okay, you can come back in." You grumble.

To his credit, Leo doesn't make any outward reaction or snide expression or remark. He just looks at you, nods, and snaps a quick picture on his cell phone. He then wordlessly exits to allow you change back.

"Okay, I handled my end of the deal." You grumble, shoving the dress into Leo's hands. "Now it's your turn."

You both stand there awkwardly.

"...are you expecting to strip naked in front of you?" Leo asks.

GAH!

After another round of awkwardness, the both of you are finally out in the field. You decide to drive Pinky this time while Leo sits glumly in the back.

"So how is this supposed to work, again?" Leo sighs.

"Well, the rookies have been told they're going out on a live fire exercise, and I instructed the DIs to fake an actual attack, or at least a report of an intruder in the area. And that's where you come in!"

"Wait, you're going to let the rookies SHOOT me?" Leo gasps.

"Nah, we swapped all their ammo out for blanks. You'll be fine." You say.

"This is the last time I go with one of your schemes ever again." Leo groans.

You park Pinky on the other side of the berm, letting Leo dismount.

"Okay, all you have to do is top the berm, and look like you're going to charge them. Then you can do whatever. Make a cool pose, run back, whatever.

"I am suddenly getting second thoughts about this." Leo sighs, looking at his dress.

"Don't worry, Leo, you look absolutely adorable!" You grin and start shoving him up the berm. "Now go get em, tiger!"

"Isn't there supposed to be some kind of signal?" You ask.

"Oh right!" You rush back Pinky and activate the smoke launchers. Columns of colored smoke arc through the sky. "Go go go!"

Leo then tops the berm, where you hear a TORRENT of automatic fire. So much, you can't even differentiate the sounds of individual bullets. It's just one endless hail of fire. As quickly as he went, Leo comes sprinting back over the berm. Even knowing the guns were loaded with blanks, his survival instinct kicked in anyways.

"I...am...never...fucking...doing...that...AGAIN!" Leo pants when he finally reaches Pinky.

"You did a good job. I'm pretty sure you traumatized a bunch of rookies today." You grin.

"As long as I can get this damn dress off!" Leo sighs.

Suddenly, the air is disturbed by a large BOOOOOOM of an explosion.

"Don't you think that's going a little overboard, Alice?" Leo grunts as goes to the other side of Pinky to change.

"That... that wasn't me." You blink, a pit forming in your stomach.

"Wait, then-"

Suddenly, sirens start blaring throughout the entire base. You run up and peek over the berm to see the DIs herding the rookies back to the barracks. You then turn around and see smoke rising in the distance.

Right where the lab complex is.

"Shit, Leo, we're under attack!" You scream, sprinting back to Pinky.

"W-what!? Shit!" You then hear a loud ripping noise as Leo literally tears the dress off so he can get back into his BDUs.

You pause to consider your options. You've got all your combat gear stored in Pinky, so you could head to the lab complex right now if you wanted to. However, you could also head back to the base to regroup and try and figure out what was going on first, but then you'd be going in the other direction, in that case.

"Hm yeah, it's not like you're concerned about their safety or anything, right?" Leo grins.

"Alice! The Magical Research Facility is under attack! You're on the scene, so you we need you to get over there and ascertain the situation!"

"Can't the lab guys tell you?" You ask.

"We've lost contact with the lab. Local security forces are en route, and I'm scrambling two squads to drop down and assist you. They'll be there within half an hour."

"I'M SORRY I CAN"T HEAR YOU SIR, MUST BE MAGICAL INTERFERENCE!" You yell as you nod to Leo, who starts rubbing his gloves over the mic to simulate static.

You then turn off the radio and park Pinky behind a hill that overlooks the lab complex. Both you and Leo slowly crawl up to the top and look down, and you don't like what you see.

Down below, the lab complex is a mess. There's a massive hole blown into the western wall, and you see a lot of wrecked vehicles and bodies in the courtyard. You see a lot of frantic movement, in what you're guessing are the surviving guards. Seeing no sign of MGs, you head back to Pinky drive up to the lab. The surviving guards look up as you approach but don't really react. Obvious shellshock.

(cont)

"Who's in charge here?" You bark.

"I-I guess I am, ma'am." One of the guards steps forward. "Sergeant Martinez, ma'am!"

"I need a sitrep, Sergeant." You say, surveying the area around you. You can tell the damage was caused by high level magic. Meanwhile Leo is checking on downed guards to provide first aid.

"They just came out of nowhere ma'am. MGs, they just busted through the wall like it was nothing!"

"Okay, just give the straight facts." You say. "How many, where are they, and what can they do?"

"There were four... I think." Martinez frowns. "I only know two of their powers. One was shooting fire all over the place and the other had glowing fists. She literally punched the wall down..."

Great.

"Where did they go?"

"T-they went into the main building." Martinez points to the hole where the front door used to be. "I lost contact with the guards inside. I've... I've been trying to regroup my guys here.."

"How many are combat capable?" You ask.

"We started off with forty... but I'm guessing, maybe sixteen, including me." Martinez mumbles.

Why do we have to remind people this; It work at least a min, two at most with the user puking there guts and god knows what else for next five. With four MGs around that thing is about useless. If there one, MAYBE, two I would say it might have a chance to help. But that damn thing right now is pointless. Hell the goo gun is more effective, the googlies as well. That juice would just get us killed.

>Just to clarify, you already have the Goo Gun and the Companion Juice on your person. Everything else is stored in the lab.

"All right soldier, gather up anyone who can still hold a rifle. We're going in." You say.

"All right." Martinez nods, regaining his nerve how that there was an officer to take charge again. "I'll grab as many men as I can."

"Ok, do that." You nod and turn to Leo. "Looks like we'll be dealing with close combat here."

"Yep. Here." Leo tosses you a Beowulf rifle, basically an M4 chambered to fire .50 caliber rounds instead of the standard 5.56mm. It did so much better at punching Circles, even if the ammo was heavier and caused more recoil.

"I managed to get 10 men, including me." Martinez says as he comes back, with 9 men trailing him.

"It'll have to do." You say grimly. "Let's go."

Your small, ragtag squad enters through the hole the MGs made, weapons raised and ready. You see the charred and pulverized corpses of several guards.

"How many personnel are in the building?" You whisper.

"Twenty scientists and forty guards." Martinez whispers back. "The scientists were probably evacuated to the Panic Room. The thing is build to withstand a nuclear blast, but..., you never know when magic is involved."

"And the weapons?"

"All the experimental tech is kept in the Vault. Like the Panic Room it's heavily fortified."

Gotta save them scientists, the MG's probably won't fuck with the tech if they don't know how it works.
>>

Part of me wanted to say that because you can argue that both objectives are more important than the soldiers lives...

Then I remember we only have 10 so it would be pointlessly weakening us.
>>
>>29867293
Now, logically, you knew that the scientists were the priority, considering they were holding all the knowledge. Weapons could be rebuilt, but talent was irreplaceable. Plus... well... you weren't about to admit this to anyone but you sort of liked Egan, too. You guess you could kind of consider a friend, in some weird way.

"We're going to confirm the scientists' safety." You whisper to your assembled squad. "Martinez, lead us to the Panic Room."

"Got it." Martinez nods.

Walking through the lab, it's hard to believe that you were here just a week ago. The once pristine halls were now ruined with scorch marks and impact craters all sorts of other damage. You wonder just what kind of fucking firepower the MGs here were packing.

"Hold up!" Leo grunts, motioning for the squad to stop. He carefully peeks around the corner of the hall and turns back. "Martinez, is the Panic Room around the corner?"

"Yes." Martinez nods.

"Shit." Leo scowls. "Alice, you need to come look at this."

You crawl forward and carefully peek around the corner, and immediately do not like what you see.

TARGETS IDENTIFIED:

MAGICAL GIRL FLAMEHEART

MAGICAL GIRL ICICLE

You didn't know them personally, only by reputation. However, you knew these were two girls that did not fuck around. It seemed like they were taking turns attacking the massive bunker door leading to the Panic Room. You can tell that eventually, under the two girls' combined assault, even that heavily armored door would fail.

"We need to do something!" Leo hisses.

"Let me think." You frown. You could always just open fire right now and hope the opening volley would take care of them, but that wasn't certain. You could send a team to flank them and hit them from both sides, but that would take time. Or....

"Martinez, the labs use halon gas for fire suppression, right?" You ask.

"Yes." Martinez nods.

"Oh no, you don't mean-" Leo gasps.

"If I can lure them into one of the labs, I can trap them in there and activate fire suppression on them. Even MGs need to breathe." You say.

"Okay, let's do this." You say to encourage yourself.

Now you just needed to decide on target priority. Icicle was closer and easier to hit, but that also mean she had a better chance of spotting you and raising her Circle. Flameheart was farther away, but you might be able to get the drop on her easier.

You draw your Goo Gun and fire off several rounds. Icicle doesn't even see them coming, and turns to face you far to late. You get three rounds center mass, the paralytic pellets splashing against her brightly colored costume. Icicle screams as her body seizes up and she topples to the ground. Not breaking a stride, you sprint to through the nearest door into the lab inside, and you feel an almost unbearable heat on your back as Flameheart tosses a fireball at you. You dash into the lab and take cover behind a table as Flameheart storms in, her eyes glowing and smoldering.

"Nowhere to run, traitor." She hisses, her hands glowing.

Well, you've got a few options, none of them pleasant.

Unfortunately, for you, Flameheart pops out of cover just long enough to toss a fireball, and whether it was by luck or skill, you see it headed right towards you, and you have no way of dodging it. You instinctively shut your eyes, ready to take the hit.

Except it never comes.

Instead, you see that you're still standing in the lab, but everything's become blurry and out of focus. You have a creeping sense of foreboding and deja vu.

"Well now, it seems you've gotten yourself in quite a situation, haven't you?" You hear an infuriatingly familiar voice.

"Loki." You spit. "What the hell are you up to?"

"Oh me? I just wanted to provide a little help. It seems you'll need it." Loki says, his tail swishing back and forth as he sits on a nearby table.

"Why would you help me? I killed you." You point out.

"True, and I do resent you somewhat for that." Loki yawns. "But... considering my current circumstances, it's safe to assume that my current existence is directly tied to yours, so... your survival is within my self interest."

"How charitable." You grumble.

"So, I'll just explain things." Loki purrs. "In case of extremely bad luck, such as when you roll a 1, you'll have the option of discounting that roll, as if it had never happened."

"What the fuck are you talking about?" You blink.

"Patience, it will all make sense in due time." Lok purrs again. "Anyways, fate is a fickle thing, and it demands balance. Should you eliminate a 1 this way, you will gain a Counter of Ill Omen. The next time you roll a 20, that 20 will be discounted as if it had never happened, and a counter will be expended. BUT, you can prevent this by challenging Fate with a direct roll off, 1v1. If you win, the counter is spent but the 20 still goes through. If you lose... well... let's just say you don't want to lose."

"You are one weird fucking cat."

"So the choice is yours, Alice." Loki starts to pace in front of you. "Would you like me to intervene?"

And somehow, the fireball Flameheart threw at you suddenly goes wide, splashing harmlessly of the tile wall behind. That was weird, you were almost certain that it was going to hit you.

Anyways, you've managed to gain enough distance that you back out of the lab door and hit the fire alarm. Immediately, heavy fire door slam down and the room starts to fill with thick, halogen gas. Looking through the viewport, you can see Flameheart coughing and gagging as her lungs cry for oxygen. She tries to summon a fireball, but it sputters out uselessly. Flameheart then starts pounding at the fire door, but that only serves to tire her out further and after a few seconds, she slumps down and out of sight.

I really not wanting to risk the scientists to guards that have gotten they're asses whooped on once already.

Guys, did we forget the weapons vault already?
>>
>>29869641

>Other
The scientists run for it, while us, Leo and Martinez's guys head down, there were 4 MG, makes sense to assign 2 to each objective, the scientists and the nemesis
>>
>>29869713
If we aren't going to send anyone with the scientists, we might as well just have them get back in the panic room until the situation is fully contained.
>>
>>29869705
if its on the way, sure we can stop by, but its not the objective, the scientists are fine for now as long as we can get them out, the other MGs will be going after Nemesis, which is where we need to be
>>
>>29869734
thats a good point, they can stay locked in the panic room waiting for reinforcements while we all go down
>>
>>29869744
If we can get to the vault and unlock it and arm up, we should have enough tools to take on 2 MGs.
>>
>>29869758
Tick. Tick. Tick.

That's time going away, if the vault is clear on the side of the labs.
>>
>>29869782
huh, good point. I guess I support putting the scientists back into the panic room and sending everyone against the reminding MGs.
>>
>>29869641
>Okay, me and Martinez's guys will had down there right away.

Scientists get back in the panic room. They should be fine there until our reinforcements show up. As badass as we are, I'd rather not go up against 2 MGs with Leo as our only backup.
>>
>>29869826
I much rather arm up, but I guess time is of the essence.

"What about the Vault? Can't we unlock that get some other equipment?"

"The stuff in the vault are trinkets compared to Nemesis." Egan shakes her head. "Plus you'd have to either escort me or another senior scientist to unlock it for you, and I doubt you'd want us dragging you down. Again, Nemesis is the priority here."

"Fine." You grunt. "Martinez, you and your men get the scientists and the prisoner out of the building and wait for reinforcements. Me and Leo will go down to secure Nemesis. Oh right, and if one hair on the prisoner is harmed, well, Egan is going to have a lot of new human tests subjects. Is that clear?"

"Crystal." Martinez nods.

"Oh right, Alice, take this!" Egan hands you her ID badge. "The main elevator is probably compromised. This will let you access a maintenance shaft that will take you straight to Nemesis' chamber.

"Thanks, Egan." You nod. As you head for the maintenance shaft, the both of you pass by the elevator, and don't like what you see. The bodies of pulverized guards lay everywhere, and the blast doors look like they were peeled open like a banana. Otherwise, the elevator looks operational.

"Looks like they're ahead of us." You scowl. "We better get moving."

"Wait." Leo blinks. "I don't think the other two MGs are expecting serious resistance. If we take the elevator, we'll end up right behind and we can take them by surprise rather than trapping ourselves in the Nemesis chamber."

>Go with the original plan. Go directly to Nemesis via the maintenance shaft.
>Go with Leo's plan and ambush the MGs from behind.

I like having the option of saying fuck this and running, if need be.
>>
>>29869873
>Go with the original plan. Go directly to Nemesis via the maintenance shaft.

I don't think an elevator is the best idea.
>>
Also remember, we don't have to defeat them, but only delay until reinforcements.

Although a prolong battle would be a death sentence.
>>
>>29869873
They may not be expecting resistance on the way, but bet your ass they'll be expecting retaliation.
On the other hand, we still do not know what they are fully capable of, a fair fight may be costly.

See if we can sneak up on them in a timely manner without actually following their trail of destruction.
>>
>>29869963
Yeah I agree. Directly taking on two at once is almost suicide. We need an edge.
>>
>>29869978
Go directly to nemesis, activate it?
>>
>>29869990
Ha, hell no.
>>
>>29869990
How do we know it won't butcher us too?
>>
>>29869990
Sounds like a bad idea. Also, if we juice up it would probably attack us too. But I dunno, if we are desparate.
>>
>>29869998
We don't. We'd have to hope that it's more interested in take out the MGs that are focused on it's death rather than the squishies that aren't actively hostile.
>>
>>29869990
>>29870016
A lot of unknowns to risk our lives on.

"Okay, we'll go with your plan." You say.

"Are you sure?" Leo blinks.

"Better than nothing." You shrug.

"Once we go down there, there's probably no going back." He says.

"Yeah, well, how's it any different from last time?"

"True. But you know what, Alice?" Leo grins.

"What?"

"If you get yourself killed, I am going to spread that picture of you across every website I can find."

"Bastard." You can't help but laugh.

And with a mighty lurch, the elevator begins to move. Hopefully you and Leo weren't descending down into your own grave.

>And that's it for tonight! Since it's Superbowl Sunday this weekend, the next MGHQ will be next Tuesday, and then it'll be back on Sundays as usual! And as always, don't forget to catch PJ Witches on Friday and Cyberpunk Idols on Saturday!
