>What is this?

The King of Fighters Quest is a developing Choose Your Own Adventure-style quest in which you take on the role of Katja Hartkern, an Austrailian Aborgine practioner of Kyokugen Karate and guide her day-to-day towards joining a team/preparing for the upcoming martial arts extravaganza, "The King of Fighters: Infinite Match". Along the way, she'll make friends and enemies alike, explore the city of South Town and maybe, JUST maybe, discover more about herself along the way...

>Summary: After Katja spent the day bar-hopping with Terry Bogard & "Blue Mary" Ryan, we took a look at a day in the life of Fiona Graves & Tsuyako Horikawa, Pro-Wrestlers for the Southtown Wrestling Federation as they trained, talked about the craziness of their day and ultimately confirmed their romantic feelings for one another before heading off to do a match at the "Old" South Town Municipal Stadium against "The Angel", traffic and a brigade of "Social Justice Warriors" slowing them down and hampering their preparations for the match.

The lack of preparedness showed, as the match itself was filled with several moments of spontaneity (Tsuyako slapping Fiona across the face over not "Giving her Time" in the ring, Angel using her NESTS-Augmented Combat Abilities to start actually fighting the two of them, as well as several "Bumps" that weren't actually called for) and heated blows from all considered, though the crowd seemed to actually like it (As the three of you were actually WRESTLING, rather than doing interpretive dance in skimpy outfits like most other large, American wrestling federations have their Women's Divisions do) and Angel offered to take them out for drinks and "No Hard Feelings."

Tsuyako & Fiona ultimately declined her offer (As they seemed more interested in each other's company), so the story followed Angel (Pronounced "An-Hell") as she went to meet up with two people that had been looking for a third teammate for their entry in "The Infinite Match", finding that they were Andrew Draco & Kazunori Kazahaya, the personal bodyguards/confidants of the CEO of "The Infinite Match's" sponsor/host... After rightly being distrustworthy of the two of them, Angel grilled them on specifics about who they were, what they were doing in the tournament and such before ultimately agreeing to join up with them, the prize money at stake being too tempting for her to ignore...

From there, the story resumed control of Katja Hartkern as she struggled to clear her head from her hang-over and get ready to make an early call to "he Sleeping Dragon" Pharmacy for an accupuncture appointment, running into Terry making Pancakes in her kitchen (Complete with a Frilly, Pink Apron on)...

>The Rules:

All decisions are made by voting, with the first option to earn up to three or more votes winning; Combat choices are made via Rolls, with the Roll or average closest to Katja's Stat in any particular Field (IE The old-school "Roll-Under System" from Dungeons & Dragons) out of the first three submissions winning, with "Natural" 1's & 100's being the exception to this (These rules also apply in the case of multiple options with Rolls).

In the event of a Tie or DEADLOCK in regards to any decision (Combat or Otherwise), a second round of voting begins with the option with the most votes AFTER the Tie getting declared winning. Those who voted for one of the options that are part of the tie can still stand by their initial choice, OR change their vote after a Tie or DEADLOCK gets declared and Rolling for the applicable stats if needed.

>(Updates now Begin)

>You Now are in Direct Control of Katja Hartkern

You look around your room for some clothes to put on, eventually going with a pair of panties and a Shirt that almost is big enough to be a dress (Not exactly the easiest thing to do, considering your Six-Foot Tall frame) as you waltz back out, wondering if it would be impolite to ask exactly WHY Terry & Marry are in "Your" place so early in the morning as you hear Mary's footsteps, seeing her pop into view with a good sweat worked up.

"Whew... I'll tell you somtheing, I'd kill to have half of the stuff Robert's got in there" Mary says, wiping herself off with a towel.

>A. Politely ask "So... What's the REAL reason the two of you're here? Not that I don't like company, mind you"

>B. Shrug, then ask if those Pancakes are ready yet; You're feeling ready to try to hold some food down. (Roll 1d100 for luck in getting your breakfast to stay down and fully digest)

>C. Aske her what kind of weight she's pushing and what exercises she did, if only to get a rough idea how and where you could start in your own training.

===

You crick your neck, stretching out the stiffness as you ask "And G'mornin' to you too sunshine... What Kinda weight you pushin'?"

Mary shrugs, then replies "About 20 Lbs over my body weight" as she heads over to the fridge and grabs a water bottle, asking "You don't mind, do you?"

"Oh, no go ahead... But what eaxctly IS your body weight?"

Mary pauses at your queiry, thinking about it for a moment before replying "About a Hundred and Twenty Pounds... I used to think I was around 108, but the scale that's in there is more accurate than the one I have at home."

"Cor... So you LIFT a Hundred and Forty Pounds? That's like, what, around Sixty Keggs?" You ask, genuinely interested in her fitness as even though she's physically smaller than you, she lifts more weight...

"I think so... But i never was any good with metrics" Mary says as Terry yells "OKAY! Breakfast's on!" as he lays out a couple of plates and gets some maple syrup from the pantry near the fridge.

"OK... So, What's the REAL reason the two of you're here? Not that I don't like company, mind you, but I don't think this's a social visit..." you ask, sitting down at a stool and nibbling at a syurpy pancake with a fork and knife.

"Well... Yeah, you got me. I was wondering if you could comply in my investigation of The Paragon Group, team up and meet with my secret agent buddies that got reassigned to work on it" Mary says between a few bites before adding "I know for sure that we can get a few guys up here to monitor you and Vanessa & Ramon'll help out when they can."

You pause at that and wonder what the ramifications will be if you accept...

>A. Accept Mary's offer whole-heartedly and meet up with her squad for this mission, affectionately known as "The Agents Team".

>B. See if she'll divulge a little bit more about the nature of her work and what you might have to do if you join up with her (Roll 2d100 for Diplomacy & Luck that she'll let you in on Classified Informaion)

>C. Ask Terry for a second oppinion on this, then mull it over for a little bit longer before deciding.

What about we go back to the usual Highest is Better. Seems more natural to the quest. I wanted Lowest is Best merely because I have an obsession with stats, but as long as you take them into account on your side we don't really need roll-under.

I'm OK with it; The side-quest that filled the previous thread ran on the "Normal" system and it was a hell of a lot easier for me to just... Craft an update without over-thinking it, I guess.

Also, appologies for the delay; Got into a conversation about the impending water shortage crisis that's affecting my hometown...

===

You think over Mary's offer while silently munching on your meal, Terry's idle conversation with her breaking any kind of akward silence you might've caused as you note that it's now 7:33 AM, the clock on the wall triggering thoughts about why you'd care...

That's when you try to remember the previous day, thinking over what you had gone through at the swimsuit photo shoot with your friends and a brash, Manly Voice pops into your head: "Hey, I'm sorry but Shen Woo at The Sleeping Dragon can't come to the phone right now... Because I'm busy PUNCHING SOMEONE IN THE FACE! Leave a number and I'll call ya' back."

A lightbulb seems to shine over your head as you quickly finish up your mpancake breakfast and tell her "I'dunno, maybe? It's a tempting offah, but I need some time to think it over... And I need to get going; I've got an appointment down in China Town this mournin'!"

You get up , thank Terry for the meal and storm off to your room, frantically looking for your leathers and some pants when you overhear Terry yell "You left your bike at my place!"

You stop, turn around and cover yourself with the doorway, asking "You mind if I hitch a ride with you then?"

"Yeah, No Problem! Where do you gotta go?"

"The Sleeping Dragon Pharmacy", down in China own mate! And gotta go fast too; The guy put me through bloody'ell when I was late last time!' You explain, squeezing into a pair of clean blue jeans and putting on some socks & boots (Making sure to grab your Wallet & Cellphone) as you fly out in around five minutes, Mary & Terry waiting for you.
>>
>>29926878

"Well, Shell we?" Terry asks as you nod and shake Mary's hand, telling her "I need a little bit of time before I can say "Yes" or "No", y'know?"

"I understand" She replies, her voice starting to slip into her "Work" mode when she tells Terry "And I'll see you around too, eh Wolf?"

"Heh, don't mind me; I gotta get back to my place anyway; It's my turn to do dishes and take out the trash while Rock's out at school" Terry grins as the two of them give each other a quick kiss, then follow you as you walk over to the elevator, taking it down to the lobby, wher you check in and explain that you need to hold all calls until you get back.

From there the three of you walk down to the north side of "The Imperial's" underground parking garage and find Terry's Car & Mary's bike, both parked side-by-side. He let's you in, starts the car up and drives off, Mary following you for a little bit before driving off, the time not quite Five 'Till Eight (With your appointment at 8:30 AM)...

"Yeah, no problem... I was going to take you over to my place just so you could get your bike back anyway; What's a little more time to get you where you need to go?" Terry replies, adding "I'm just glad you haven't made any "Crack the Whip" jokes like Joe does when something like this comes up" as the traffic starting to thin out a little as you get on the highway that leads into China Town.

"Ah, C'mon, you don't need to sound so bleedin' defensive; That you DO go out and do stuff like this is proof that Mary's lucky to have you" you say, trying to offer him some support and also trying to hideyour envy of Mary; "Shit, if she weren't already with him I'd bag this guy quicker than a Croc snatching up a bird", you think to yourself as the

"/this it?" Terry asks, knowing where the "Sleeping Dragon" was from wandering around South Town and fighting for the love and mney of it (As he had crossed paths with Lee Pai Long at an invitation-only Tournament called "Battle Coliseum" that was held by the planning and entertainment company "Neo Geo").

"Yeah, looks like it... I'll be about an hour, so don't mind waiting for me here" you tell him as you get out of his car and head inside, a Tall, BUFF dude with a tan and Blonde hair sitting behind the counter, a necklace with what looks like shark teeth on it around his neck.

"Hey... 'Sup? You're the early one with old man Lee, right?" he asks, his voice you recognize from the answering machine message you heard yesterday...

"Yeah, Right on the money guy... You're Shen Woo, right?" you ask, admiring his finely muscled form and the slightly 'Dangerous" air about him (And wondering what kind of guy he might to leave such an audacious message on the answering machine of a business).

"Without a doubt..." Shen replies, eyeing you up and down a little before asking "You fight?"

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't... Speakin' of which, when's the old bloke commin' in?" You ask, your body starting to naturally send "Signals" to him as Shen smirks.

"Should be here any time now..." He replies, pausing for a moment before asking So what clubs to you hit up around here? Both Pao Pao's, Starkey's bar on Fridays... Or you know, "The Club"?", his voice getting low enough thatyou have to step up and listen close to him to hear that last one.

"Well... Nah, none of them yet; I'm getting over a coupl'a injuries before I feel good enough to fight again" you reply before adding "I'd probably show up at either of the Cafe's though when I start back up."

"Gotcha... What kind of style you rock?"

"It's based on Kyokugen Karate, but I'm starting to think It's my own take on it; The bloody wankers wouldn't let me learn the REAL styles, so I had to bounce around and beg'em to teach me some of it" you reply, anxious for lee to show up.

Shen laughs a little, then says "Hah! What a joke...", pausing before asking "What's the point if they don't teach everybody the "Correct" way to fight?"

You glare at him for a bit before coldly replying "I think it's mostly down to the head of the Dojo thinking that Women can't do the training required, but I'm gonna damn well sure try to prove him wrong."

"Heh... You know, I like the sound of that! You wanna bust some heads out back after he's done working on you?" Shen asks before quickly changing his mood when spots Lee Pai Long walk in, wearing his usual attire and seemingly glaring at the two of you.
>>
>>29929777

"I appologise for being tardy... Though, it IS nice to see you early" Lee says to you as Shen starts to whistle, looking busy as you nod and follow Lee up the stairs to his "Regular" Private Clinic, taking off your clothes as he closes the door behind you when the two of you arrive.

"Eager today, are we?" He asks in a slighy lecherous tone.

"Gotta make up for blowin' you off the other day to model" you reply as you head over to the table, Lee starting to prick your body with accupuncture needles...

I thought Seth was second man in the Agents Team, and if Katja declined (which she did), the de facto Agents Team leader Vanessa would fill the missing spot.

Unless Ramon is just helping out and I'm overthinking things. I remember that Vanessa/Seth/Ramon/Blue Mary weren't competing in KOF XIII because they were too busy blowing the plot wide open on Heidern's orders.

You start to relax a little as the pins start to penetrate your skin, slowly starting to open up the flow of your Ki as you feel a sense of hunger overcome you, among other things... Thankfully, no repeat of the previous incident two days ago as the hour flies by, Lee patting you on the back after it's all over.

"Hmm... Not bad, but not as good as I thought it would be" Lee mutters to himself, then asks "It seems that your body's inherent structure and Ki flow hs changed slightly... Have you been training or fighting particularly different in the last few days?"

"Well... I DID end up having a bit of a surprise spar on the set of the photo shoot yesterday, but I wouldn't think that it could have THAT much of a difference... Could it?" you ask, careful not to completely go into your suspicions about possibly being possesed by some wandering entity before Lee either backs that up or confirms it...

Lee takes a look at you, his mask betraying no emotions before replying "I ask because this seems to be the work of a powerful warlock, or sorcerress; The kind of glaring omission that only shows under a forced adaptation, or extreme stress."

"Why'd you say that?" you ask him, letting out a breath at the feeling of energy that suddly flows through you as puts one last pin into your back.

"Well... From how your energy seems to be flowing, you've undoubtably gotten stronger since I've seen you, but it's an unstable strength; An "Over-Limit" kind of strength that could be very dangerous if it isn't kept in control and reigned in" Lee pauses, yawning as he drowsily says "If you'll excuse me for a moment; An old friend wasi town the previous night and I'm not at my best."

"Me either; Still feel like I'm walkin' on glass and somebody's poundin' on my head with a lemon-covered sledgehammah" you reply as you get up, covering your chest as Lee skillfully picks the needles out of your back and arms.
>>
>>29931502

"I would recommend monitoring yourself a little bit more in the usage of your Ki, if only forall of this to stabilize" Lee intones, his voice serious-sounding as you slip back on your clothes and ask "Thanks a million 'Doc; Next one's tomorrow at 12:30 Right?"

Lee wordlessly nods as you bow, get your boots back on and then head out and run into Shen Woo downstairs, shadow-boxing against a particularly fearsome-looking poster of a Chinese Dragon (An add for a line of Virility Pills of dubios quality).

"Yo... How'd it go?" He says, his words clipped to line up with the throughs of his lightning-fast jabs.

"Not bad... Told me to lay off fightin' for a little bit though; Says my Ki's all jacked up" you quickly say as he puffs through the motions of his punches as you wonder if you should leave him be...

You stand back a little and just watch Shen Woo bob and weave, throwing out punches with reckless abandon, the air from the simple act of his fist moving almost sounding visceral enough...

You can tell that he's a boxer, a wild one at that; He has no restraint on any of his attacks and seems to be throwing his sheer force of will with each pantomime of a punch... And while everything you know about fighting suggests that he should be TERRIBLE at it, you can sense that this might not be the case when he starts moving his hands back and forth, almost in a slapping motion as Shen imagines a wave projectiles heading towards him and simply bats them away with his hands as though he were swatting flies.

After a little bit, he pauses then turns to notice you, a toothy grin plastered on his face. "You 'mirrin' me?"

You smirk a little and admit "Yeah... I don't usually see guys just punching the air out of habit."

"How long have you lived here?" Shen asks, curious as he starts to do arm stretches.

"About a two years now..."

"WHERE exactly do you live, though?" Shen asks, amazed at how someone that could live in "America's Martial Arts Mecca" wouldn't be around people that made their living in street fights or combat.

"Well, I kind of been bouncin' around, really... Never been in one place long enough to try and seek out stronger fighter's like I am now" you again admit to Shen's derisive laughter.

"I'dunno dude, how can you go a day without kicking somebody's ass in this town? You must have the patience of a aint or something..."

"Maybe I do... Or I'm just too bloody stupid to know where and when to look for that kind of thing. Plus, I'm busy dealing with all of the crap my Dojo's goin' through, so I haven't had the time..." You reply, again in a somewhat "Cold" voice.

Shen looks around, then hands you a business card and says "If you wanna make up for lost time, meet up here on tuesdays at around 10 at night" in a low voice.

You take a look at the business card, noting it's the same one that "Shady Guy" you ran into a couple of days ago gave you and say "Mybe I will" before walking out, Shen grabbing a hold of your shoulder and asking "Just don't tell ANYONE you got that from me, alright?"

"What, it's one of THOSE kinda deals? Is the first rule "You aren't supposed to talk about it?" or somthin?" you tease, though the glare from Shen's face and eyes make a part of you shiver, then you nod and shove him aside, walking out and grabbing your cellphone...

"I'm done at Lee's and ready to go whenever y'get back... Where are you anyway?" You ask, looking around fairly nervously as this place starts to remind you of the backlot of a 70's Police Drama.

"Oh, I felt like getting some Donuts and found this pretty cool place down near Mirkin St.; I should be back in about 15-20 Minutes OK?"

"Right... Just save one of them for me yeah? I'm out in the back alleyway behind the store" you reply as he hangs up on you abruptly, only for you to look at your phone and see that the call had been dropped...

Shrugging, you put your cellphone back into your pocket and start to stretch your body, prepping for your warm-up and finding that you're running into moreresistance than you'd like; You grin through the pain and slowly start to marm up more, almost getting back to your "Normal" feeling after Fifteen Hard minutes you notice Shen Woo standing in front of you, cracking his knuckles with a smile on his face and a fire lit up in his eyes...

As far as gameplay goes? Yeah, I liked it. It's an odd game that requires high levels of technical skill to play at high levels, but the combat system is fairly deep with a pretty balanced roster (As even DLC Characters like Mr. Karate, Chain-Punch Kyo and Flame Iroi aren't TOO gut-bustingly powerful). Now, as far as the aesthetics and the soundtrack? 50-50 at best; I dislike the hyper-anime look the spites have and detest how all of the female characters look like rats with stick-thin bodies (Mai being one that has boobs and is the only real exception) while most of the dudes are Street Figher IV-Levels of beef (With Ralf and Clark being XBAWKS HUEG).

The only other games that come close to it are the Dream Match games as >>29938683 pointed out, though I also like the "UM" Versions of both games (With 2K2 UM said to be coming to Steam...), but haven't had a chance to play the Steam Version of XIII (Which is the definitive variant, as it has the balance changes SNKP made when XIII was ported to the Arcades with all of the DLC intact.

From what you inside when watching him pass the time by shadow boxing, Sheen seems ;ike the kind of guy that attacks first and thinks... Well, AFTER the fight, if only to wonder "How could I have punched that guy in the face BETTER?"

Using that, you rush towards him and jump up in the air, trying to cross him up with an outsrteched leg as he tries to swat you away. However, your leg beats out his counter attempt and you drill him in the face, then land and start to chain together a few basic Karate Punches and Kicks, your attacks not seeming to fase him in the slightest as he jabs you out of your standing hard kick, then lands a kick to your gut, knocking you over with a sucker-punch to the face while you were bowled over from his attack.

You get up in time to only JUST block his punch and hit him with a quick Kohou, launching him in the air and attempting to hit him whilst falling with a standing hard kick, the lack of using Ki forcing you to get creative with mixing and matching your attacks...

Though the last attack connects, it doesn't do very much damage as Shen Ukemi's, then hits you with a jab that leads you into another kick to the gut, though this time he grans you and "Pimp-Slaps" you away as you roll out of it, watching Shen wiggle his fingers tauntingly as he yells "What the hell? Though he also outclasses characters that are sort of in the same boat in XIII (Mai, Vice, Ash & Saiki) through sheer damage...

You wipe off your face with your forearm and recklessly charge forward, Shen grinning as he tries to launch and odd-looking uppercut, only for you to evade it with a roll and then "Break" his grab attempt. That opening from the "Grab Break" was just enough for you to start actually gaining ground with your offense, landing and stringing together punches and kicks as Shen seemingly soaks up all of the hits, almost nodding at you as you step back, convinced that he's toying with you as he tries to grab you again.

You NAIL him with another Kohou, then start to back away as Shen Ukemi's, a "Serious" look in his eyes as he yells "ALRIGHT! 'BOUT TIME YOU WOKE YOUR ASS UP!" with a manic grin, seemingly loving all of this as you're starting to breathe fairly heavily...

"Shit, I'dunno what's worse; The fact that you're so weak or that I'm still sore from yesterday" Shen says as you struggle to get up off the ground, grim covering your clothes as Terry looks on, seemingly content in letting this all play out ("Probably as a punishment for not stopping the fight when he showed up", you think to yourself)...

"Hey, C'mon now; Let her get up" you hear Terry say as Shen ooks down at you, a vague sense of disapointment in his eyes as he turns to towards Terry and replies "Man, Fuck you! I'm just getting started over here!"

You use his momentary distraction to quickly rise to your feet and deliver a "Strong" Kohou, the trail of electricity suprising Terry & Shen as you rocketup into the air, then land quick enough to hit him with a standing Hard Kick while he's falling, knocking him back and away from you as you look down at your hand, curious as to why you were able to channel Ki into it without thinking or properly

"The Fuck did you say about "NO KI" BITCH!?" Shen roars as he runs back towards you, his body glowing in a faint golden aura... "Must've obviously "Powered Up" then" you think to yourself as you quickly do the same, your body not quite feeling right as the flow of Ki starts to fill your body...

You steady yourself, closing your eyes as everything around you seems to slow down, Shen's footsteps sounding like the distant rumble of thunder as you look within yourself and feel something... Different, about your Ki this time. Not as explosive as when you felt it at the Beach, but more like what had overcome you at the Gas Station a few days ago as you start to channel energy into your body, your eyes starting to feel itchy almost as you open them to see Shen Woo's fist rocketing towards you in slow-motion.

"SHOMEIOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" You yell, knocking him out of his attack as time feels like it's flowing normally again, the wave of static electricity forming a protective barrier of sorts as Shen is momentarily stunned... "God DAMN! FINALLY! A Female who DOESN'T look like an anorexic supermodel runnin' around in her underwear and can FIGHT!" he yells, almost laughing at the thought as his expression is filled with glee while you wonder how to respond as you slowly get up, your energy starting to rapidly fade...

Before you can finish that thought, Shen tries to land a quick jab to your face, which you block as he turns around and readies his fist, launching towards you as you somehow move past it and hit him with the strongest Ryuuko Ranbuu you've felt like you've done, throwing out a Super-Sized "Ha'oh Raijinken" to seemingly finish him off as you kneel down to the ground, nearly collapsing from the pain of Shen's brutal attacks as your eyes start to return to normal, your ears hearing footsteps...

There's a difference between "get laid" and "hook up with a ridonkulous oneminded mass assaultist". The first I'm okay with, the second I'm more cautious about. If the first will lead to the second, then I will oppose this fate.
Also he's probably a eunuch
Double also might a bad idea hooking up -now- considering the literal companies after our ass
>>
>>29952100
Shen Woo is a domestic assault just waiting to happen. He's outright said we're only interesting because we're built and can fight tough like he can. That is most definitely not all that Katja is; in fact, Katja is surprisingly sensitive, and Shen Woo is anything but receptive to sensitive.
>>
>>29952100
GETTING. LAID.
>>
>>29952158
Yeah, so one night where we take the lead would probably be alright.

Hooking up will probably lead us head-to-fist first into an abusive relationship, if what we know so far is correct.

Also that reminds me, we should probably see Shermie to make sure nothing's happened to her shop.
>>
>>29952158
Not this anon, but Shen Woo doesn't really strike me as the domestic assault type. Wild and rowdy, yeah, but not abusive.

Plus, I think with how we just kicked his ass, Katja would be in control in the bedroom

In fact, this might be bad for Katja as well, and not in the most obvious way. Katja suffered her gender identity crisis when she was almost raped on the night she tried to embrace her femininity. Now she's starting to do that again with the photo shoot, and now she's met a man who literally only wants her at her most masculine and un-womanly.

"Who let the Hong Kong hound take horse steroids?" you ask yourself as you look up and see Terry & Lee running towards the two of you, Shen coughing up some blood and looking like a kid that got his hand caught in a Cookie Jar while you stagger to get up.

"Hey now! Easy there" Terry says as he grans onto you and slowly helps you up, the two of you watching Lee beat the crap out of Shen Woo while berating him in Madarin (Mostly asking him 'Why the HELL did you fight my best friend's top student!?", among other things).

"I wanna talk to him mate" you ask, Terry looking surprised as he helps over to Shen Woo, who's getting crowded by Lee as you yell "Oi! Blondie!" and stick your hand out.

Shen looks at you for a moment and nods, then gabs your hand and uses your body to help him up, shaking it as he says "Fuck, that was AWESOME! ... And I'm sorry for understimating ya'."

"S'awright; You 'kay mate?" you ask him, noting that his hair's still standing up on end anfter that last Ha'oh Raijinken.

"Yeah... I just can't believe I got Rekt by a girl man! NO ONE's come close enough to do that and I've been fightin' since I was 10" Shen replies, a sense of respect and admiration in his voice.

You look at him funny and partly wonder if you didn't him TOO hard on the head as you tell him "Yeah... That felt good... we should do that again sometimes, yeah?"

Shen nods as lee clicks his tongue at theboth of you, grumbling "Damn it, both of you get inside and meet me upstairs."
>>
>>29952312
I doubt Shen is after man-like women, more like women who can actually fight and have some man-like traits. Most other girls in KoF are strong but they still act like women (ex: Mai Shiranui)

Katja should still be able to act feminine from time to time, as long as she doesn't start to act like a bimbo,
>>
>>29952429
No, I think it was mentioned that Shen doesn't like women who overtly look and act like stereotypical women, which is almost everyone in the KoF (barring Leona or something). It's like how the saying generally goes that says even though I'm not gay, marrying a dude would be the best relationship.

That's what Shen Woo wants: a dude who doesn't actually have a dick.

Vanessa is a single mother (one daughter) and widower who loves catalog shopping. Yes, she drinks beer and is an ace boxer and is generally really cool to hang out with, but being a mother is as womanly as it gets, not to mention she's a professional -- it comes with being a mercenary special agent.

Plus she's thirty at least, making her the oldest KoF lady (seriously, the games poke fun at her age more than her assets).

It's Japan. Youth and beauty are favored in Japan. Vanessa was explicitly designed as a mature, experienced woman, which she pulls off VERY well. Her '02 special intro against most ladies in the roster is where she admires their youth and beauty (in XI, she's a little more irritated, scratching her head silently).

Remember, this is the country whose pop culture said (for a good while) that if you're older than 26, you're too old to marry.

Also, Vanessa literally stole at least half her moves from Rick Strowd. Wonder what he'll think when he finds out some globe-trotting super agent stole his Heavenly Cross and Critical Wire.

You tell Lee "You're the boss, bossman!" and turn to Terry and say "Sorry, Mate; Shit has happened in our presence..."

He shrugs, then replies "It always does" as the thre four of you head back to the pharmacy, Lee taking his time with you as you entered his private clinic upstairs again (Shen stuck in the "Secret" room with the wooden training dummy to pass the time).

"I tell you not to fight and not to use your Ki, and what do you do?" Lee rhetorically asks, muttering "Be glad that I'm in debt to Mr. Karate over this; Otherwise I would've barred you from my shop over this shit."

"I know..." You reply, feeling a LOT better as Lee foreces down some herbal tea laden with unique herbs and a touch of "Ryu-Gunn" as he tends to your wounds, bandadging you up and sending you out in around half an hour, Terry waiting for you out in front of the Pharmacy.

"So how'd it go?" He asks, adding "You certainly look a lot better than you did going in."

"I feel it a lot too... But I think I'll call it a day on the fights and just stick to stretching" you reply, your body starting to ache as the two of you head out to Terry's car and drive off to his place.

Tekken 3 did a 20-Year Timeskip and the Williams Sisters were both still in it... The ride down to Terry's appatment started off fairly slow, mainly due to the arely lunch-break raffic in and around China Town but mostly from Terry taking "The Scenic Route" (IE Getting sort of lost for a little bit after trying out a new expressway that had just opened) as you think about how the fight went, how your body'sstill tingly after all of it and Lee's treatments...

"That was really something, you going off like that" Terry says, trying to get a conversation going to break the silence and noise of the road.

"Yeah... I still don't know why that bit of Electricity came off of my uppahcut though" you reply, looking down at your hands as you open andclose them, seemingly checking if they'll respond to your

"Yeah... I mean, I heard that you were able to shoot lightning from your fingertips, but I wasn't really expecting something like THAT" Terry admits, making a left off of the freeway and driving through a leafy suburb near Rock's school.

"I'm a bit mystified with it all myself still" you acknowledge, your words sort of dribbling out through your mouth as you add "But part of me wants to see if I can roll with it and control it better than I am now."

"Practicing is the biggest thing I found when I was young... Fighting every day, going out and making it your living might not be the best way to go through life, but it can get you the skills you need to find yourself" Terry muses as he turns back onto the road he usually goes on to take Rock to school from time-to-time.
>>
>>29954667

"Yeah, but you gotta be wicked strong to do that..." You reply, your insecurity showing up a little in your voice.

"Hell, we all start somewhere... Didn't Ryo ever tell you how bad he was at street fighting when he started out? Besides, you're like what? 20? 25 at the most?" Terry asks, trying to cheer you up.

you sigh at that and sheepishly admit "Nah Mate, I'm Thirty", blushing slightly.

"Well holy shit, we've gotta get on that huh?" Terry replies, cutting in with almost perfect comedic timing as you hear your stomach gurgle, making you blush even more.

"You still got that donut you promised me Mate?" You tease, nervously trying to cover up your indigestion as Terry smirks, pulls up to a stoplight and hands you a small, bright Pink box.

You grab a chocolate-glazed crueller and take a bite. While donuts were never a favourite of yours, you have to admit that this one doesn't taste too bad as Terry pulls into a small parking lot and stops next to your beloved Triumph Thruxton Motorcycle.

"Well, we're here" He says before adding "You wanna take a look at my place before you leave, or are you good for the day?"

You pause for a moment then shrug, saying "Sure, I'll stay around if you would'nt mind; I wanna do some stretches before i try to ride out of here."

Terry nods, then wordlessly gets out of the car while you grab your riding gear that you remembered to bring with you (Suit, Helmet & Gloves) and follow him up a small flight of stairs into an average-looking, but well-cared for appartment.

"Well, it ain't much but make yourself at home; I gotta use the john" Terry says as you nodd and look around, a part of you wondering what all the fuss was about being here... In spite of the fact that a part of you thinks that this is a waste of time, you start to ease into your "Warm-Up" stretching routine, slowly getting your body to respond to you ("Yet Again?!", you darkly think) as you're about a third of the way through when Terry walks out of his commode and starts to watch you for a bit, whistling low at your surprising flexibility.

"Hell, that's pretty impressive; Did you take Ballet, or Gymnastics when you were young?" He asks as you start to get up to "Normal" speed, replying "Nah Mate, this is just what they make you do at the Dyokugen dojo... Well, what most of the MEN do anyway."

"Oh yeah, I heard about the "Branching Paths" thing" Terry replies, scratching his head as he admits "I never really thought it was a good idea to try and gimp girls that were interested though."

"To be honest, me either; I had to bloody beg, plead and kick the shit outta any guy that "Dared to Challenge" me until they finally wised up and started to teach me REAL Kyokugen Karate, no direspect to Yuri and the gang" you reply, your breathe slightly bated as you go through a few particularly tricky Yoga-Like poses, slowly working you way to the "Advanced" course.
>>
>>29957343

"I'dunno, I guess I just never really thought about maintaining myself like you are until after... Well, as I got older, I guess" Terry awkwardly says, stumbling over his words a little (As he was going to slip "When I killed Geese", but thought better of it) as he takes a seat on a barstool.

"Yeah... I guess you had a fight everyday or somethin' to keep in shape right?" you ask, knowing enough from gossip you had overheard from older guys around town about "The Lonely Wolves" (Terry & Andy Bogard, along with their mutual pal Joe Higashi) and the reputation of "Godslayer" Terry Bogard.

"Yeah... It was a different time then, for sure. Now? I'dunno, I think the fight's gone out of this city a litle" Terry muses as he heads to his fridge and asks "You want anything? Bottled water, Soda...?"

"Whatchu Drinkin'?" you ask as you finish with a Kata-Like pose, instinctively doing the bow at the end (Despite the fact that you haven't had to do that for around three years now...) as Terry puts a bottle of Soda on the counter behind him. You thank him and take a swig, then fish out your cellphone and call up Yuri, wondering how she's been doing as Terry asks "What's up?"

"I just wanna call up my Dojo buddies; I haven't had the time to speak with them in a few days" you reply, heading out to the small balcony on the kitchen side and shutting the door behind you, the day starting to look a little grey.

Eventually, you hear Yuri's voice squeal "Katie! Where have you BEEN!? I've tried to call you up at Robert's place but I always get a "No calls at this time" message from weird-sounding guy."

You laugh at that and explain "I've just been really busy sunshine; Had a lot of things happen over the last... Three days now?" You ask yourself, not sure of how long it's been...

"Dude, don't leave me silent like that! I thought you got body-snatched or something" Yuri admits, her mind running wild with what might've happened to you, considering your bad luck.
>>

"Nah, nothing too crazy... I just guess I started to live a little, you know? Train at my own pace for a change" you tell her, feeling surprisingly calm at your words while an awkward silence.

"Yeah, that's probably for the bes" Yuri says in an odd tone of voice.

"So... What happened with Robert?" you ask, thinking that her response might have to do with those drunk texts she had sent you.

"I'dunno, I went out and just started rambling about shit... Sorry for that." She says as it almost sounds like

"No worries mate; But what exactly happened?"

"We made up again, but it's even shakier than it was before" Yuri admits before quietly adding "And Dad nearly burst a blood vessel after her overheard Mai talking to me about what happened with you, her and her friends at that clothing store", the sound of two guys sparring over the phone the only thing to break up the silence.

"Shit..." You growl, then half ask "I bet he kicked me out over that, didn't he?", a part of you expecting the answer as yet another long pause fills the air, the smell of rainfall on your nose and a sense of dread fills your stomach...

"Yeah..." Yuri concedes with a long sigh, sounding like she's starting to cry before admitting "It all came up this morning; Stuff got said, pots and pans got thrown, Ryo and Dad even fought over it... Fuck, he's expecting me to not even TALK to you before the tournament starts and ripped up the scroll he was gonna give you."

A long silence followed as a light rain started to fall, your rage starting to rise ever-so slowly at the impact of Yuri's words...

"It always figures; When it rains it pours" you think out loud, Yuri sounding like she's hurriedly walking through the Dojo at a fairly fast clip. "I won't keep you any longer, but maybe we could meet up at King's Bar soon?"

"Yeah, that sounds great; Thursday sound good?" Yuri asks, not really waiting for a response before she quickly says "Gotta go; Bye!" And hangs up on you.

You stand out in the rain for a moment, your rage simmering to a boil as you stare at your Cellphone's screen, thinking about all of the "Good times" you might've had and realize that for every one you could find amongst your time in Japan and the now in South Town, they pale in comparison to the last few days... You briefly think about calling her up again and demand to speak with Takuma, but simply walk back inside, the gloomy look on your face only matched by the sudden light rain starting to fall.

"How'd it go? Dojo blow up or somethin'?" Terry half-jokes, noting the sour expression on your face.

A bitter laugh escapes your lips as you reply "I wish; Looks like I'm out of a school and a home. Again... Fuckers kicked me out."

"Was it because you fought outside of the dojo or something?" Terry asks, thinking back to how strict his training was with his master, the Late, Great Tung-Fue Rue.

"Hah! That's a good one... Shit, they practically BEGGED me to come along on nights that Ryo would head out, or Robert would fly in to knock some heads around" You reply, slowly taking a breath before admitting "It's because I like girls."

Terry's eyes widen at that, simply asking "Seriously?"

"Yeah... Fuck, I still like guys; I wanna find the right man to settle down with and start a family but yeah, I like the girls too I suppose; Just haven't had the time or courage to date one I guess" you say, your mind going faster than your words can keep up as you uncremoniously flop on to Terry's couch and let out a long sigh, trying to fight back a few tears while closing your eyes.

"Damn... I think I've met black cats that have more luck than you" Terry quips, trying to break the uneassy mood of the room as you start to pout a little.

"Yeah, and I probably ate them whenever I would go out to that one dingy Korean Place when I lived in Osaka and trained at the Dojo" your joke, asking Terry "I need a stiff drink Mate; Would you mind obligin' me?"

"Well... I don't drink, not at home anyway; I picked up some bad habits when I was young" Terry replies, but adds "I'll check to see if there's any left over from that one party I threw last week..."

"That would be nice" you ask as a weird sense of nostalgia overwhelms you, your mind thinking back to two months prior when this all started to happen to you and ask "Oi, Terry? Did you hold a party with a DJ with a Mohawk?"

"Who, Duck King? Yeah, he volunteered a on one a few months ago; Why?"

"... I think I might've been here for that and stole Mary's motorcycle" you blurt out, knowing that Mary probably told him the story a milion times before.

"Yeah, probably" Terry chuckles as he walks over and hands you a bottle of Budwiser, using your bottled-up rage to try and force the cap off with your bare hands, then pry it open with the special opener on your keys ring.

You let the contest hit your taste buds and take a hearty chug, not really tasting any thing as you say "Y'know Terry, I should have expected this to fall through sooner or later, just like everything else in my damn life..."

"Hey, look on the bright side; At least you got Robert's pad to act as a cushion for a little bit" Terry says, taking a si of a soda to try and fit in with you (As he's still a bit down from the bender with you and Mary day before).

"Nah mate, it was never going to work out for me there... It never does. Shit, I think it even rained the day I was born."

"It might explain your powers, I suppose" Terry cracks, trying to make you smile a little (And wondering what kind of cornball movie you stole your reasoning from) before saying "I've been through things like this a lot in life and it never really bothered me; I'd grab my shit, get my clothes cleaned when I could and just... Let the road take me where I needed to go, you know?"

You nod at that, sort of experiencing the same feeling when you finally got the chance to move to Japan to try and learn from the Kyokugen Dojo branch there as Terry continues:

"As I got older, I started to feel more of a sense of the kind of lonely life I had been living; I'd run into fans from time-to-time and just sorta only say "Yeah" or "Sure" or stuff; I never thought I was special... Hell, I nearly turned down a gig doing a public speaking tour because I DON'T consider myself the kind of role model that they were looking for" Terry admits, having to eventually "Cash-In" so-to-speak before he felt the nerve to do it.

"Yeah, you told me about that when Robert took me out with the girls... Why'd you think that though? You're strong, you got your health, got looks..." you ask, the alchahol starting to give you a fair "Buzz" (In spite of the "Bottled Piss" after-taste in your mouth).

"Yeah, I do... But Andy's the "Pretty Boy Model"; I'm just a guy that go famous by learning how to throw a punch..." Terry admits, the veneer of the "Hppy-go-lucky" side of his personality starting to slowly peel away.

"So why DO you fight, then? Aside from being good at it, of course?" You ask, not really expecting a response.

Terry gives you a long look, then asks "Do you really want to know?"

"Only if you want to" you tell him, noting the change in his mood when he asked.

He takes one more long glance at you and snatches the beer out of your hand and polishes it off for you, handing his soda to you in exchange. "Awright. Tune your ears up now, because I'm only telling you this once..." he says, his accent not quite something out of Brooklyn, NY or the Deep South, but he pulls up a chair and sits down in front of you, the rain starting to fall a little harder.

"OK, where to start... Hell, let's go from the biginnig, shall we? My brother and I, we we grew up in an orphanage; Neither one of us ever got to know who our real parents are, though one guy almost fooled us into thinking we were some long-lost heir to a Danish Aristocrat or something..." Terry begins, his voice trailing off at how odd that last adventure had been as you look up at him and casually focus.

"Well, we grew up in the wilds of south town for a little while; Getting bounced around in Foster Care wasn't all that fun you know? And over time, e started learning how to live on the streets, dumpster dive, find shelter... The usual for us, I guess. One day, when I was about six or seven, I was going through the usual routine me and Andy would do when we were low on money... And met my dad."

Your eyes widen at that, as your throat starts to clench up as Terry takes another swig from "His" beer, finishing what was left before continuing: "We stole from him, sure, and spent the money in his wallet like it was going out of style that day... Except he ended up finding us later that night down by the docks."

"We both thought that he was going to call chiild services on us, but all he asked for was his wallet back" Terry sighs, clearly fighting not to cry as you hang on his every word, nodding at him to continue. "Well, that man was Jeffry Bogard and he ended up adopting us legally about a year later, right around when we turned Eight Years old..."
>>
>>29961655

"We found out that he was the prominent pupil of a long-forgotten Martial Arts Master, Tung-Fue Rue and was noted in the community as being an all-around good guy, in spite of his fierce fighting spirit" Terry says, taking a sniffle as the alchahol's obviously started to take it's effect on him

"Take your time Mate; It's real heavy fo you huh?" you ask, trying to possibly calm him down and help get through relating his story to you.

Terry smiles a little and nods, then tells you "Well, we lived with him for about a year and honestly? It was probably the happiest year of my young life... He taught us how to be, I'dunno, decent human beings, helped us channel our anger into learning Martail Arts in the park once a week and he let us watch him spar with Master Tung and Cheng Sinzuan, who was on friendly terms with him even though he had been expelled from the Tung's tutelage for gambling, among other things..."

"Yeah, life was great... Then the flock of Geese came home and just shat on everything" Terry poetically phrases, letting out a sigh at that memory.

"He was the gangster that built that mega-skyscraper out by the Cafe 2, yeah?" you politely ask, a sinking feeling overwhelming you as Terry nods, then closes his eyes and takes a breath, clearly readying himself for "Something REALLY harsh", you think.

"Once upon a time, he was just a young man who wanted power... Power to shape the city he loved into what he thought it had been. So, he sought out the best damn Maartial Arts master the city of South Town had... And came into contact with Master Tung. He ended up learning how to fight alongside my dad and clashed with him and Cheng over the right to be Tung's successor... And in the end, Tung chose Jeffry over him and Geese never forgave either of them for it" Terry explains with a heavy heart.

"Soon, he used his connections to become South Town's Police Commissioner while orchestrating all of the gangs in the city, the first guy to really..."
>>
>>29961893

"Sorry can y'give me a minute?" Terry asks, wiping his eyes as you wordlessly nod, giving him the time he desperately needs to get through all of this...

"Did he do the cliched thing that all gangsters do?" you ask, trying not to cheapen Terry's father's possibly unfortunate demise...

Terry solembnly nods, then says "Even though I didn't see it for myself, my brother said it best when he told a friend of our about what had happened: "My dad was murdered out in a broad street in open daylight and no one did ANYTHING. If my brother and I don't bring his killer to justice, then who will?"

The room goes silent after he says that, your eyes widen at the revalation as you think "OK, this is almost Soap-Opera crazy..." but thankfully hold your tongue for once as Terry pauses, then makes a joke at his own expense: "And that's how this all glowingly started, I guess; We both split up about a year later... Andy went to Japan to learn how to be a Ninja from one of Jeff's friends while I stayed in South Town, picking fights with whoever, whenever to try and see if I could do it better... And I just never stopped."

"Fuck me..."

"Yeah... That's why I said I should've tried to honor my father's legacy by trying be the better person he was; Go to school, be a laywer or a politician or a doctor and try to HELP people's lives, instead of take them away..." Terry says as you hop to your feet and head over to his fridge, grabbing another beer for yourself and tossng one to Terry.

"And then you finally did that, though?" you ask, taking a swig of your Beer as Terry offers "Yeah... Part of my thinks that Andy should've done it... 'Course, he probably would've killed himself if he did; THAT'S the kind of "Code of Honor" he was taught."

"Fuck mate, that's awful..." You let slip out of your lips before admitting "Shit, now my own story sounds fucking lame compared to yours... I'm as "Hard" as bloody creme caramel."
>>
>>29962167

"Yeah? Shoot" Terry asks and you, after a few more swigs oblige, good laughter had between the two of you at the part with the bloody pool cues as you conclude it by saying:

"And the worst part is? I let that all build up without fucking letting it go when it NEEDED to be... I spent my life in Dojos wasting time and money learning some code of honor that I DON'T agree with that would've NEVER been taught to me had I come out earlier."

"Hey now, who you are is who you are; All something like what I learned from Master Tung and what you learned from Karate are guidelines for bettering yourself... Shit, what do you bench? How many physical things can you do that others can't because of what you do?" Terry asks, adding "You gotta find that line and walk it, like that old song you know?"

"Yeah... But I got one last question for you; Why still do this? You avenged your father's name early on, why're still in the game after all these years?"

Terry shakes his heand admits "Shit... I think about that everyday sometimes... And honestly? I guess I enjoy it too much. Fight'n is a thrill that'll never get away from me and I love that I can say that I've dedicated my life to doing it; Who can say the same about themselves, that they love theirs jobs enough to admit something like that? I know for a fact that you felt something close enough today, or whenever you fight somebody... Right?"

You nod at that as Terry adds "Thing is, full-contact sports like ours are dangerous with a capital "D" and there isn't any money in them; I mean, if I wanted to get you or Rock out of fighting I wouldn't waste my time trying to say how tough a life like mine can be, I'd just show you how little money I've ot in my bank account."

You nod, then think of how to make $18,000 in cash, with no official residence sound bad, but drop it and say "I hear ya on that one Mate."
>>
>>29962644

"The big for me is, is that I grew up in South Town. It was MY city, you know? And even though the reconsctruction effort after what had happened with the Orbiting Laser cannon helped, it's just... It's just that something's missing, I guess" Terry admits, adding "Hell, I got my G.E.D this past year because I'm starting to wonder if Fighting's hit an all-time low; Between you and my Brother's Girlfriend's team, there aren't ANY real rookies coming in to the tournament; Just a bunch of guys and gals that're around to make-weight and get pounded into hamburger, I guess..."

"True... But the money's actually there this time though" You reply.

"Hah! Honey, I'll believe it when I see it my hands... Just ask the Kagura family they owe for comming Second in the 3rd KoF and you'll see what I mean" Terry says as you slowly get up

"What, you aren't gonna go riding out in this are ya'?" Terry asks.

"Well , unless you feel like driving me across town again and having a friend deliver the bike to me, I'll find a way..." You tell, him zipping up your leathers and asking "Hey... Terry?"

"Yeah?"

"... You're a real cool bloke, you know that?'

"Yeah, I hear it everyday from my friends and Rock... But thank you; I appreciate it" Terry replies, the two of you giving each other a big old hug.

"Hey, maybe I can call you and set up a day or something to spar? My usual group for that left me out to dry..." You ask, slipping on your gloves and grabbing your helmet.

Terry shrugs and says "Hell, I'm down for it; You could probably teach Rock a lesson or two while you're at it... Let me get you my number."

After exchanging phone numbers, you gave him a hearty handshake and put on your helnet, walking back down before getting on your bike and firing it up, letting it warm-up for a little bit before you ride off, checking that the time is nearly quarter 'till Noon as you feel HUNGRY...

You think it over for a second and decide to try and head back to "The Imperial", feeling your way throught the rain and mostly taking it slow and steady, the beers you had at Terry's affecting your balance and conentration more than you had expected them to as you struggle to balance the bike at times.

You try to keep things going in a straight line, not appearing to weave in-and-out in between traffic when you see a police cruiser pull behind you, cursing your luck as you're only around twenty minutes away from the heart of the city. You try to keep and hold the bike steadily, but you wobble a little coming out of a full stop and see the the lights flash on, muttering something even you don't hear as you quickly pull over, hoping for it to end quickly as you shut the engine off , put the kickstand up and slowly wait to get your chance to butcher these so-called "Pigs"

"License & Registration please... Ma'am?" He asks, flashing his badge and obviously acting as the "Bad" cop.

You wordlessly nod and zip open your leathers, fishing out your wallet and handing it to him as you pray that everything's in order, though you start to channel Ki into your body just in case as he hands it back to you.

"Is this your only form of transportation ma'am?" he asks, noting that his tone suggests that he's looking for an excuse to arrest you.

"Yes... My place is only a few miles away" you add, hoping that it mightsway him, though the words he says to you make you blood freeze a little.

You think long and hard about a response, the other officer asking his partner "Ah come on, let her go; It's pouring ass rain out here and all she's got is a busted tail light."

"Well, to answer your question... Yes, I'm hungover from the night before; No, I haven't had anything to drink today and yes, I also waited best I could to make sure the alcohol was out my system before I headed back home" you reply, hoping against hope that this oddly-familiar fellow will show some mercy...

But your hopes get dashed when grabs a hold of you and says "Get in the damn car", slamming you down onto the hood of the police cruiser.

"What the HELL Josh? The plate check came clean!"

"She's been out drinking... Get the breathalyzer out if you don't believe me."

"Let her fucking GO dude! There's a hostage situation about a mile from here and they're calling on every single available officer in the area" The other guy almost yells, his voice sounding a bit funny...

The officer annoyedly sighs, then leans up to you and whispers "You better pray my boss doesn't sic me on you again... Or I don't run into you in the Tournament", your mind racing back to "The Man in Black" as he pushes you up and away from him, yelling "Get your damn bike fixed and get out of my sight!" before getting into the cruiser and racing out of sight, the lights flashing and the siren blaring as they speed away

>Meanwhile, in Classet County squad Car No. 21-56...

The officers that had shook you down silently drive on and hit the interstate, the young-looking one with the corny accent going "Shit man, these prosthetics are fucking god-tier right?" before hacking up a small, mettalic-looking device the size and shape of a Lazonge. "Fucking Voice modulaters hurt like hell though" Kazunori Kazahaya adds, still trying to get the raw-bile after-taste out of his mouth as Andrew Darco stares off into space, his fist up under his chin (The classic "Thinker" pose).

"So what did Jean want this time? Because I'm not getting him coffee again; He doesn't pay us enough day-to-day to act like his goddamn secretaries" Draco mutters, thinking back to some of the more demeaning (To him, anyway) parts of his job.

"I got a text from him to abort the mission while she was talking to you; Turns out she's no longer affiliated with the Dojo in anyway, shape or form..." Kazahaya says, taking out his contact lenses as traffic slows to a crawl due to "Rubber-Neckers" gawking at an accident up ahead.

"Is that REALLY the only reason why we were bothering with her? ... No wonder this guy's a joke." Draco says with a sigh.

"Well... Yeah. I mean, I KNOW she looks like that one ex you had that went all first blood on you, but you can't all depressed about i"

"Did I ASK you to bring that up?" Draco interjects, quickly cutting Kazunori off as an awkwardly strained silence hits the cruiser's cramped interior.

"... Fuck man, you want to stop and walk it off?" Kazunori jokes, Draco's expression seemingly carved out of granite...
>>
>>29971908

"... Sorry. I just... God, I just want to hit her as hard as I can whenever I see her around, you know? I just can't shake that it's her" Draco admits, shaking his head at the thought of his last girlfriend coming back to haunt him or something (And privately admitting that such a thing might've not been outside the realm of possibility).

"But it ISN'T her. You KILLEd the one that WAS her after... Well, you know" Kazahaya notes as the car comes to a full stop from the traffic jam, using the opportunity to start to taking off the almost-life-like latex mask he was wearing.

Draco lets out another annoyed sigh and says "Let's just get our clothes changed, take this thing back and head down to China Town; I've got a tournament to run down at Dreamland with Shooting Star."

"Still going on "Hyper City Strike Fighter: Arcade Edition"? Or gonna mix it up and add "BlazeGear GuiltyBlue: No One Lives Forever Under the Bridge of Time EXTEND!" like she wants to?" Kazunori asks, getting his hands back on the wheel and honking the horn at the driver behind him for doing the same as traffic starts to move slowly.

"Like I'd actually try to attract the crowd that goes for that kind of shit... I'm actually running a Location Test for that one game we played the other day; The King of Fighter's one that's coming out to tie in to the Tournament" Draco replies as he slips off his contact lenses and quickly puts on his sunglasses.

"Oh yeah, that's right... We gonna be in it or what?" Kazahaya asks, genuinely curious.

"DLC, most likely... Or only available through dip switches on the machine itself or some shit" Draco bitterly replies.

"Shit... Hey, wanna shake some guy down for weed? We've got uniforms on and all" Kazahaya jokes, visions of "Thug Lyfe 5: Online Edition" running in his head...

"Like you don't have enough already..." Draco smirks, not exactly shooting the idea down as Kazunori hits the Sirens and Flashes the lights as traffic starts to open up...

Go tease a koala you bastards" you say to no one in particular, rubbing your wrists as you get back on your bike and fire it up, rejoining the flow of traffic and headingback to "The Imperial" without incident (Though the pouring rain doesn't do much to brighten your mood) as you pull into the east side of the hotel's parking garage, right near the set of steps that you had parked near when you had arrived a few days earlier.

You shake off the cold, soggy feeling and try not to look awkward as you walk up the stairs and head into the main lobby of the Hotel, checking in to the main desk and asking "Any calls while I was out?"

"Only a telemarketer, Ma'am" the bellhop replies.

"Right... Can I get room service up in my room?" you ask, feeling the pangs of hunger slow edge at you.

"Of course; There's a list of places that can deliver to you up in your room" he replies as you nod, thank him and head over to the elevators, going up to your home for the time being

>A. Take a shower and get into some clean, dry clothes.

>B. Check the list the bellhop mentioned and order up some food (Roll 2d100 for the Speed the food gets here and Luck in how good it tastes to you)

Feeling damp as you walk into the main living room, you kick off your shoes and then start to strip down, heading to the shower off near your room to warm yourself up and dry your self off, the warm water feeling incredible against your skin.

You grab a towel, dry off and put on a pair of sweat pants and a T-Shirt, then a long-sleeved sweater over the shirt as you head out and check your phone.

After seeing that there weren't any messages, you think about what to do next...

You head out into the kitchen and take a look throught the phone book, searching for a place to take your motorcycle in for service (As you really don't want any more police attention, especially after today).

You look through it and call up a few places, though most either don't service European Motorcycles or are HORRIFICALLY expensive, as your trusty Triumph Thruxton is considered a "Luxury" motorcycle around these parts (Which it probably is, but you're lack of awareness about the so-called "Status" of your bike is starting to work against you)...

After about half an hour, you sort of give up as food starts to swim in your head for a little bit... However, instead of giving in you grab your Lap-Top and plug it into a wall socket near the sound system, slowly waiting for it to load and update before finding that you can hack into a nearby server. Taking the time to get into this possibly-dubious network, you get online for the first time in what feels like FOREVER and check out places near "The Imperial" that could service your bike... And find the number to one that's practically downstairs and across from the lobby.

You call up the number, but get an answering machine with the message "We're sorry, but none of us in the shop can get to the phone right now; Please call back tomorrow."

"Well, that's just great" you say out loud, then hear your stomach start to rumble...

You head back over to the kitchen and feel like ordering in, as you don't know where Robert kept his pots and pans, or his cooking utensils; Besides, you feel like you've "Earned" it today...

You flip through the list near the phone, feeling slightly dizzy as you look through it; The usual collection of "Dim-Sum"-sounding Chinese places, a coupleof odd-sounding places that don't exactly give you any clue as to what they might serve, a Steakhouse(?)...

"That might not be too bad" you think as you dial it up, waiting for

"Welcom to Big Dave's. What I can I get you?"

You order up a "Steak Dinner" (The largest one the place offers) along with a salad (After seeing Robert's fridge was empty aside from drinks) as you start to feel a bit light-headed as you lay down and grab a bottle of water, taking a seat on a very odd-looking sofa and drink it until your food arrives.

After about 15 Minutes, you hear the phone ring and get up to recieve the call, finding that your food was ready to send up... After that the day was pretty uneventful; You didn't do much as far as stretching or training and simply laid back for a bit, munching on the steak you ordered almost all day (As it was bigger than you had anticipated by some degree) and packed it in by 10 PM, looking to start the day fresh...

As tempting as a dream sequence is, we've got negotiations and fight clubs to do.

You wake up at around 8:30 AM feeling refreshed from the previous day's fighting and general crazyness and enjoy a blissfully peaceful dream about blasting undead gangsters in the face with a "Blessed Shotgun" that you had called "The Redeemer"...

You yawn as the last little edges of that crazy dream fade from your conscious and crick your neck back and forth, getting up out of bed and slowly stretching your arms and legs while you ponder what to do... A part of you wants to call up the Kyokugen Dojo and give that Arsehole Takuma a piece o your mind, but you stop yourself; There'll be a time and place to do that...

You clutch your stomach as it twists and turns, wondering if there was something wrong with the steak you had the previous night... You head over to the bathroom and kneel in front of the toilet, though all you do is get a case of the dry heaves for a few minutes as you think back to how it might've tasted, or if there was anything "Off" about the steak (Which was pretty good when you had munched on it at first, but wasn't quite as tasty after you had reheated it on a skillet).

You then get up and head over to the kitchen, pouring yourself a glass of water from a filter and forcing it down, waiting for something to come back up your throat... But to your relief, nothing does and you start to look around for food to eat in Robert's pantry, only to find things to make food (A copious amount of spices, herbs, yeast and various types of flour for baking, among other things) and

"There's a Cafe downstairs that I prefer to eat at, but there IS a dress code of formal suit and/or dress" A voice you recognize as "Mr. Utterson" replies as you tell him that you'll be down in a bit.

You head back into your room's walk-in closet and look for something more... "Dressy" than your usual comfy & casual wear, eventually deciding on a nice suit that looks like something King let you borrow.

After a few more minutes, you walk into the elevator and take a ride down to the lobby, walking out and feeling a bit conspicuous about having to dress up like this... Until you see some of the Hotel's "Residents" (IE month-or-More guests) and wonder why you had bothered; They're all in printed T-Shirts, printed Baseball caps sitting backward on their heads and jeans, a group of rather rarty-looking girls hanging off of a kid that couldn't be more than 16 at the most (And looks like an amazing androgynous beauty, you think to yourself) as you look at the breakfast menu, salivating at the options...

The menu looks mighty tempting, especially some of the more "Upscale" options and the smells from the bakerty are to DIE for, but you feel your stomach unsettle itself and decide to order from the Salad Bar, overhearing an elderly waiter coming over to the self-proclaimed "King of Swag" and ask "Sir... You glance over at this kid and wonder if THAT'S the guy Shermie & Yashiro were talking about, the one was a talented musician and fighter who retired from both, broke off from them and started to record under the name "Justin Beiber" as the security arrived, gestulating with him as you eat your salad in relative peace and comfort, your stomach taking to eatng greens quite well for the moment.

"This is fucking BULLSHIT! I'm bigger than Jesus Christ and Orochi COMBINED and you're throwing ME out?!" You and anyone else around hear him yell, no doubt in your mind that this brat is supposedly Chris...

Things start to get violent though when Chris breaks free of the guard's grasp and starts making mirror-images of himself, stepping in front of them and blasting the guards back with a few simple pokes of his fingers while you try to finish up your meal and quickly, QUIETLY get out of here and head up to the relative safety of your room, the sound of his groupies and hangers-on fleeing the dining room echoing in your ears...

Unfortunately he notices you just as you're about done with your meal, taking a sip from a bottle of water while he asks "The fuck y'all lookin' at?"

You quietly finish up your meal and calmly get up out of your chair, doing a quick stretch that throws Chris for a loop as he assumes a slightly modified version of his usual combat stance (Looks somewhat between his normal & orochi Version) as you silently walk towards him, your expression unreadable.

"W-W-What's up? You gonna fight ME? I'm Hella Jacked! I make Zyzz's ghost look like fuckin' Clown Sho-" Chris exclaims as you quickly blast him with a Kohou, totally catching him by surprise as you land in front of his crumpled-up body, glaring down t him as more security start to arrive.

You grab him up by the collar of his polo T-Shirt and tell him "Look 'ere you mincing little fuck; I heard all about you from Yashiro & Shermie... I'm friends with'em, and I don't know WHAT the hell happened to you since you came back to this earth, but if you don't knock it off or else I'm gonna throw you out the door myself" You tell him as coldly and calmly as possible, Chris looking up at you like you were an alien as Mr. Utterson rushes over, "The Imperial's" remaining security forces following him.

"So? We gonna go outside and settle this, Punk?" You ask, letting him go and watching him scramble up and run out, his eyes wide with fear and the Hotel Security chasing after him...

"Fuckin' 'Ell, you just can't stop around here" you say to yourself as Utterson walks over and offershis most sincere appologies over what might have happened, though you just laugh it off, walk back to the elevators and take a ride up to your room, content to spend the rest of the morning to yourself... Maybe go out and get some groceries to fill out Robert's fridge while you can still use it? Or call up Yashiro & Shermie to tell them "Justin" is back in town...

I concede that I should've worded it more like "Thread's done; Don't feel like making a new one tonight" instead of that...

Also, things to look forward to in upcoming Rounds:

>Ancient Chinese Secret Fight Club Complete with Shen woo playing the role of Tyler Durden

>Possibly training and sparring with Terry Bogard

>Clothes Shopping and picking out "Battle Wear" with Yuri Sakazaki & King

>Looking for a place to live after the Tournament Ends with Robert Garcia

>Possible battles against Takuma Sakazaki & Kaphwan Kim, not to mention other things...

Plus, the usual working out, getting Ki-Flow sessions with Lee Pai Long and maybe, JUST maybe, Asking somebody out on a date. Male OR Female...

Anyways, Until Next TIme!
