You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You sit on Ramirez’s toilet, towel wrapped around your naked body, watching Kitten slowly and steadily shave her legs. Kitten preceded this with sharing a shower with you, and is now, like you, only wearing a towel. The white shaving cream parts each time she moves the razor up, and up, and up…

“Man, fuck everything about this,” says Kitten. “I have to do this every two days?”

Lisa says from back inside the dorm, “I still can’t believe you’re only learning know how to shave your legs.”

Kitten shouts, “Man, fuck you, Lisa! You can’t even clean your room properly!”

“Love you too, Mom,” says Lisa back.

Nancy pokes her head in, smiling. “Breakfast is ready!”

You smile back at her, and then take a whiff of the air. Smells like WAFFLES. “Thanks, Nancy,” you say. Nancy nods then gives the two of you some privacy.

What shall you do today?

You run your hand along Kitten’s silky smooth leg. “… and that is why women shave their legs, Kitten.”

“Gee, thanks,” she says.

With that, you both get dressed in the most readily available things you can think of, your Tankery uniforms. You sit down on Ramirez’s bed and get to eating Nancy’s freshly made waffles with lots of maple syrup on top. Such taste!

Nancy asks you as she wipes up some of the mess on Ramirez’s counter, “So, what are we going to do today, President?”

You say, “I think a day of rest is in order. Tomorrow we do go back to school, you know?”

Lisa nods. “I can look forward to that, I suppose. I’d rather be worrying about academics than worry about, you know?”

“Of course, Lisa.” You pull out your phone and start browsing for some likely places of tourism.

Hey Schteel, there was some confusion after thread yesterday. In the PARTS CURRENTLY OWNED part of the pastebin, it isn't really clear what guns we have. The 2pdr and 25pdr and the now mounted 6pdr are still listed, and I'm not sure if we kept the Littlejohn Adaptor from the Sentinel's 2pdr when we mounted on the 6pdr or if it went towards the cost for mounting it. Maybe list guns individually instead of keeping them under the Ordnance QF Bundle.

“There’s a nice museum dedicated to World War II history in town, I think a visit there and then a cozy little restaurant for lunch sounds fair. Yeah?”

Nancy grins. “Oh, that sounds lovely!”

Lisa says, “Today’s probably going to be really boring.” You quirk your brow, then Lisa says, “But still, museums are cool. I’m for it.”

You look over at Ramirez. “Ramirez?” Ramirez is simply lying back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Thinking what? You don’t know, and you don’t particularly care. “I’m guessing you’re for it.” Ramirez nods.

You pet Kitten on head, smiling. “Museum it is then. Let’s saddle up then. ITL should have our tanks ready by now.”

With that, you finish off your breakfast, then head out of Ramirez’s dorm and head towards the Tankery HQ where your tanks are located. Nothing wrong with taking your tank out for a drive after all. All the fine misses of the 20s took their tankettes out for drives. Hell, you feel like Bertha Benz.

“Thanks, Mr. Mishka.”

“Ah, don’t thank me, I’m a businessman.”

You hang up. Lisa looks over at you. “So, how’s Mr. Mishka doing?” she asks.

You say, “He’s doing alright for an old man. I would’ve seen folks like him in the Old Folks Home, but instead he’s doing backbreaking labor. He have a fountain of youth in his garage or something?” you joking ask.

Lisa smiles. “Ah, Mr. Mishka’s just stubborn like that. All Russians are. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t know that Eisenhower isn’t President anymore.”

You shrug. Can’t argue with that.

You arrive at the Tankery Warehouse. Sure enough, you see Officials working on your tanks, repairing with good speed and efficiency and-

You nod. “Thanks, Miss Lutz. Means a lot.”

“Oh, it’s nothing!” she says. “If anything, you should be thanking our top-notch repair crews. They could restore a Konigstiger from near wreck to perfect function in days!” She leans over, whispering. “They’re like animals when it comes to tanks, so treat it like you would the zoo.”

You snicker. “I’ll think about it.”

“Right then! I’ll leave you to it!” She marches off to supervise the repair of the Churchill IV, Earl.

> Normandy Landings

You take a few pictures as the tour guide lectures on the Normandy Landings.

“…and there were five major beaches. The British were to land at three, codenamed Juno, Gold, and Sword. The Americans landed at Omaha and Utah beaches. The landings themselves were codenamed Operation Neptune. Now, this one of the largest amphibious landings ever conducted, but a little known fact is that beforehand the Allies preceded the Operation with a great ruse.

“For months beforehand, the Allies conducted a widespread false information campaign that would lead the Germans into believing the Allies would not land at Normandy, but instead at Calais. The Germans bought this ruse hook line and sinker, and it contributed to their slow response in defending against the Allied breakout from the beaches. Not to mention the Airborne landings which were bogging down German advances and securing all objectives to link the various beaches and create a continuous supply chain.”

You all ogle at the various pictures and exhibits of various gadgets. Stuff like old compasses, goggles, even a few weapons. You even spy a set of binoculars, similar to Grandpa’s.

For academic purposes, we should ask the Otakus what do they know about tanks.

They'll most likely reference an anime. In a setting already based off an anime. We need to go deeper.

Maybe this universe has something like Strike Witches with tank aces.

> Battle of Cherbourg
> Ask the Tour Guide a Question

You raise your hands. “So were the DD tanks successful at their jobs?”

The tour guide says, “Well, that’s a matter of opinion. The seas were very rough that day, and despite the general confusion from the initial landing, most of the DD tanks reached their objectives, a bit late mind you. Omaha Beach was far worse about it, with almost none of them actually managing to reach the shore. Now in calmer waters during Operation Dragoon, they were much more successful.”

You move onto the Battle of Cherbourg exhibit.

“The port of Cherbourg was considered a vital objective for the D-Day landings owing to being a deepwater port that would allow the logistics chain to be simplified. Before Cherbourg, equipment from the United States had to land at Great Britain, then shuffle through the process of being loaded again and waterproofed, then be landed at one of the beaches. Cherbourg thus was a valuable target.

“Now the Assault on Cherbourg took the better part of the month of June, where the fierce fighting ended up wrecking the port so badly, that it would not be used for three months at best. Regardless, the objective was completed, and what’s more, the city of Cherbourg was liberated from Axis rule.”

You tilt your head at the big map marking advances and other movements of the armies. It’s bit incomprehensible.

> Operation Cobra

“… and main objective of Operation Cobra was the breakout from the beaches and into France proper. This involved securing cities like Saint Lo. In cooperation with the British, the Americans advanced south after taking the city of Saint Lo towards Sur Vire and Le Beny Bocage and as far south as Avranches around the Gulf of St. Malo. German resistance amounted to various counter attacks that did not succeed for a variety of reasons, either due to being outnumbered or due to their logistics chains breaking down.”

The tour guide finishes as you walk out and see the beautiful view outside the city of Cherbourg. “After Operation Cobra, the Allies had a substantial footing to liberate the rest of France and continue moving to such greater battles like the Falais pocket, up to Belgium, then to the Ardennes. Right through to the German’s surrender in April 1945.”

The five of you quickly take a group picture, with that scenic view right behind you. “Smile!” you say. You take the photo and take a look. Nice.

“So what would you recommend for further reading into Operation Cobra?”

The Tour Guide says, “Oh, there are plenty of books that cover Operation Cobra. John Keegan for example has written about it in various books. In fact, if your local library has a history section, you should probably look to see if they have anything covering the Battle of Normandy, as most books of those kind cover Operation Cobra to some length.”

You nod. “Thanks.”

With that in mind, you finish off the tour with a trip to the FUKKEN GIFT SHOP. You all gape in awe at all the uselessly expensive things. Books you’ll never read, candy that doesn’t taste that great, instruments that don’t work-

Actually, there’s quite the section of things you could buy in a little corner to the side.

Lisa blinks at you. “That’s quite a lot of stuff.”

You blink back at her, then offer up the Bandage Bear. “Want-“ She immediately snatches it from you, looking embarrassed out of her mind. “-it?” you finish.

Lisa rolls her eyes. She mutters, “Yes.”

Kitten looks over, a plushie 75mm APBC Round. “Ooh, you’re getting one too?”

You say, “Well, maybe for Griselda, but she already has the 37mm, the 47mm, the 75mm, the 90mm, the 105, the 128, and the 152.”

“Your sister sounds weird,” says Ramirez.

You shrug. “Eh, she likes Tankery like that.”

You purchase the stuff out of your pocket then walk out of the museum, clutching all your newly acquired goods. Your stomach then growls. Sounds like it’s time for lunch. You hit up a list on your phone of nearby fancy luncheons.

You hand off the directions to Lisa, and once all your stuff is packed, you set off for Le Ratatouille. It’s actually only a few minutes drive and you arrive there in good time. It’s a neat little establishment nestled in between a few other bigger restaurants. You park your tank right outside and hop off and walk right in.

The Maitre d’ you think says, “Bienvenue.”

You nod. “Bonjour. Table for five, please?”

The Maitre d’ leads you into the warm and cozy establishment, where people talk and chatter on about their day. You’re led to sit around a round table. You take a whiff of seafood, apples, pies, and other things related to Normandy cuisine.

He hands you the menus. Quite the selection. Mostly French selection. You remember that you’re not as good as French that you think you are.

Kitten begins. “Okay, so me and Trudy used to volunteer at this animal shelter for our community service hours in Middle School. Basically, she and I worked around animals a lot, and we actually learned a thing or two. It was great fun, right Trudy?”

You nod. “Except for the fat woman, but that’s another story.”

“Anyway,” says Kitten. The waiter begins putting down your main courses. “This one day, a man comes with a box full of kittens. Nothing too big, we get that a lot. Then the next day, the same guy comes with another box of kittens. Trudy asked him, ‘Sir, why do you have so many kittens?’ she asked. And basically the man said, ‘My wife’s in the shrink, and she wants me to get her cats to a good home. This isn’t even your final box of them.’”

Lisa snickers. “So how many kittens did he bring by?”

Kitten sips her cider then says, “About 200.”

Nancy nearly spittakes. “200!?”

You nod. “200. We needed to find homes for over 200 kittens otherwise we’d have to put some of them down, which we really didn’t want to do.”

“That’s why we spent the better part of a week just telling people to adopt kittens. One day, we had to let all the kittens out to clean the kennels and well…”

You chuckle. “She got swamped in kittens.”

Kitten laughs. “There were so many, I couldn’t move! I’m on the ground, little kittycats are resting on my stomach, or playing with my hair or nuzzling my face! It was the best and worst feeling ever!”

You quietly laugh, taking up a forkful of ratatouille. “Eventually, Mr. Powell who was the owner of the shelter came over, saw what was going on. He just started laughing. He’s a really kind old man, mind you, but he didn’t express himself a lot. Seeing him laugh, made me laugh! And then Kitten started laughing because the kittens were tickling her. Then people walked in, saw all of us laughing, thought we were nuts and they left!”

Kitten wheezes, having trouble from laughing. “I smelled like cats for a week!”

You nod. “Yeah-yeah. Mr. Powell just started calling you Kitten from there, and that’s really where the name stuck, I called you Kitten, Eugene called you Kitten, other kids called you Kitten, etcetera.” Nancy and Lisa quietly giggle at the story.

Kitten nods, grinning widely. “That’s why I’m called Kitten!”

Oh god this ratatouille tastes great. It really takes you back. “So, Nancy,” you ask. “You’ve really seem to have gotten into tanks. I mean, back in August, you didn’t seem too much of a nerd, but now you’re better than Kitten when it comes to tanks.” You look at Kitten. “No offense.”

Kitten shrugs. “None taken.”

“Well,” Nancy says as she eats her oysters. “I must admit, I didn’t think I’d like Tankery as much as I do now, but here we are! It’s so…” She bites her lip, concentrating.

Lisa says, “Liberating.”

You say, “Exciting.”

Nancy nods. “Yes, both of those. I mean, we didn’t really do a whole lot back home. I mostly read or played basketball, those were really the only things you could do. I suppose I just found my calling.”

You smile. “I’m glad, Nancy.”

Lisa leans back, nodding. “Yeah. Nancy I suppose is going to be some professional tanker, and I guess I’ll go into the family business of economics.” She looks over at Ramirez. “What about you, Ramirez?”

Ramirez says, “Continue education. I’ve got a full run lined up at Dartmouth. Then I suppose I’ll enter the work force.”

Lisa looks at you. “What about you, Boss?” You blink. “What are you doing once you’re finished with school?”

… oh shit you don’t know

You sigh, sort of fidgeting in your seat. “I- I don’t really know. I mean, never thought about it.”

You nod. “Yeah, I know. I mean- not even Kitten knows what I’m going to be doing?”

Kitten says, “Honestly Trudy, I’m right with you too.” She takes a bite out of her dessert. “I’m pretty much in the dark about what happens after High School. College, work. It’s all so…intimidating.”

“Well,” says Lisa, “That’s why they have the Academyships. To foster that independence that makes you a better worker and such.”

Ramirez says, “And if you fail, there’s always porn.”

Lisa nods, smirking and pointing at Ramirez. “Yeah! Totally easy for girls to get into porn. Compared to guys.”

“Gee,” you say. “Thanks for the support.”

Lisa shrugs. “Just saying, it’s an option.”

You roll up to the front entrance of the campus, where some students are getting supplementary classes. Most of them are Naval Studies, others you can see are General Studies as well here and fro.

You turn out and look around, you can actually see students working outside working on banners. What are those banners for? Hm, question for the day.

“Gertrude. Nice tank.” Fairless walks up, cigarette in her lips and trenchcoat around her shoulders.

You nod. “Hey, Fairless. What are you doing here?”

“I should ask the same, but I suppose you deserve an answer,” she takes the cigarette out of her mouth and idly fidgets with it between two fingers. “I was working with some of the Clubs today, Fredendall told me they needed someone to supervise them and she sent me. And only me.”

“Lisa, move forward a bit please?” Cupid rolls right over the cellphone with a satisfying crunch.

Fairless nods. “-and hopefully I can have a nice break.” You guess the caller must have been Fredendall. At least Fairless has an excuse now. She checks the time. “Anyway, I oughta head out from here.”

You whistle admirably. “Nice.”

Lisa nods. “Nice.”

Nancy nods. “Nice.”

“Indeed,” says Kate as she and the rest of the Aces walk into view from behind the King Tiger. “Early production Tiger II with the Porsche turret. Stylish but pretty damn dangerous to actually have.”

You nod. “Quite a thing, Kate. Enjoying it?”

Wendy puffs her cheeks, crossing her arms. “Still think the King Tiger is a piece of shit.”

“Well, Wendy,” Kate pats Wendy’s shoulder. “Once you and Mr. Mishka are done with it, this little boy will glide.”

Joanna smiles. “I’ll make sure of it.”

You smile. “Well, since it’s your permanent assignment, have you thought of a name?” You get a bit excited. “Like, something badass? Like Steelmuncher II or Tankcruncher, or something more poetic like uh… Deathbringer or Edgecutter-“

Kate says, “Hobbes.”

Kitten tilts her head. “Hobbes?”

Michelle nods, snickering. “Hobbes.”

Wendy nods. “Hobbes.”

Octavia says, “Hobbes.”

We had 8000 to start with, with us then spending 2200 on the Tiger II. That makes it 5800.

When we get the Krupp turret on Monday, that leaves us with 500 from that purchase to spare.

That means we have 6300, along with the extra five grand in the class treasury. No, we are not broke, and have easily enough money for class matters.

The Porshe turret was poorly designed and created a massive shot trap in the front, as well as the fact the cupola was designed all retarded.

Getting the turret changed is a priority, but it needs to wait until after the budget meeting and our practice match.

We need to see two things:

Would you calm your tits and discuss this like an adult, like the rest of us?

The turret is not the biggest issue, what our biggest issues are with the Tiger II is that we don't know how it will effect us on the battlefield, and that the engine and drivetrain are unreliable. We've never fielded it along side any of our other tanks and the crew is highly unfamiliar with it, we need to run a match to iron out the kinks and THEN change the turret.

>implying the Tiger II can break down
>>

Not to mention the fact that we have other stuff or in your words other bullshit, we have to deal with at the moment.

And this affects the turret how?

>and that the engine and drivetrain are unreliable.
Take a look at the mechanics page genius, elite tanks don't break down.

>We've never fielded it along side any of our other tanks and the crew is highly unfamiliar with it,
The crew used to drive a Tiger II, I seriously doubt they'll be unfamiliar with it for long, assuming they are unfamiliar with it.

>we need to run a match to iron out the kinks and THEN change the turret.
And how exactly, does switching out the turret prevent them from ironing out these "kink" of yours?

> Make Dinner
> Talk with Someone (Perrine)

You tie up an apron around you then get to making dinner for today. Nancy’s ingredients included some noodles so you decide to try some chicken fettucini alfredo.

Perrine slides in next to you. “So what are you making?”

You say, “Fettucini alfredo.” You snap your fingers. “Speaking of which, Perrine. Do you mind if I see your cellphone for a second?”

“Oh? Why?” You look at her knowingly. She sighs, then gives you her cellphone. Now that you think about it, this cellphone does look pretty advanced. You tap the screen and move towards photos. Sure enough, there’s a picture of you being undressed by Kitten right just now. Then there’s that picture of Kitten locking you, then you tickling Kitten-

You say, “Perrine. Are you stalking me?”

Perrine shrugs. “I’m just in the right place at the right time!” she says, chuckling nervously.

“Riiiiight…” You hand her cellphone back.

“Want to see more?” She holds the cellphone in your view. “That’s me with President Obama! And that’s me with former President Clinton! And that’s me with Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond! And that’s me in the Vomit Comet-“

“Perrine,” you say. “How do you do all this shit?”

Perrine shrugs. “I go to Walter Christie Tech. We do lots of stuff!”

If we change out the turret now we might not have the tank back in time for practice against Saunders, the turrets act the same way for both of them with only slight design changes.

The aces are used to driving the Tiger I, which is a medium tank, the Tiger II, or "King Tiger", is a heavy tank and woefully underpowered even if it is protected from breaking down.

The Tiger II is larger and slower than we're used to working with, it might fuck up our whole formation and really like to know about that BEFORE our big tournament match.

>>29956434

>Talk with someone: Perrine

Grill her for info on WT, they're our next tournament opponents.
>>
>>29956632
Wasn't the Tiger 1 a heavy tank as well? Shouldn't be any slower then the Churchill.

Also Elite Status prevents breaking down.

> Talk with Someone (Perrine)

You start handing off dishes of dinner to everyone. “So, Perrine. How exactly do you get to do all of that?”

Perrine slurps up some noodles, then says, “Simple! Christie Tech is one of the most prestigious Engineering schools in the world! It’s not just a high school, we’re also a university as well. The Professors there do actual science and teching on the side while they teach us.”

Nancy says, “Is it hard?”

“Oh very,” says Perrine. “But you know, as long as you keep your grades together, it’s all smooth sailing!” She slurps up some more noodles. “Good noodles by the way.”

Kitten says, “It wasn’t always like this. Trudy couldn’t cook without setting a kitchen on fire.”

You frown. “Hey, have some faith in me, Kitten. I can cook!” you say proudly.

Perrine chuckles. “Oh, that reminds me of when the ITL used to allow Flame tanks!”

Lisa sighs. “Yellowstone Park was never the same after that.”

Nope Tiger I was a medium tank, Tiger II is a heavy tank, But they share the same power plant, leaving the Tiger II underpowered.

I'll admit I was wrong about the breaking down, I reread the rules.

>If we change out the turret now we might not have the tank back in time for practice against Saunders, the turrets act the same way for both of them with only slight design changes.
Worst case scenario, the conversion gets put on hold while it's being upgrade while the Aces take it out for practice. That's happened before. And I'm still puzzled by how Schteel stated it was Tuesday, I suspected a mistake of some kind.

>The aces are used to driving the Tiger I, which is a medium tank,
>Medium tank
Haha, what.

Also, that was a typo.

>the Tiger II, or "King Tiger", is a heavy tank and woefully underpowered even if it is protected from breaking down.
It's actually not half-bad when it comes to power.

>The Tiger II is larger and slower than we're used to working with, it might fuck up our whole formation and really like to know about that BEFORE our big tournament match.
Larger maybe, but not slower. The Churchill is a lot slower than the Tiger II.

You all sit there, completely unfazed by those crappy effects, the pretty wooden acting, and the confusion over why Neal McDonough and Tom Sizemore did this.

Perrine says, “Man, this movie fucking sucks.”

Lisa says, “You think Neal McDonough was looking for Band of Brothers and he took a wrong turn at Captain America?”

“Actually, I haven’t seen Tom Sizemore since Saving Private Ryan,” said Kitten. “That was years ago.”

Nancy says, “This movie is kind of funny I suppose.”

You say, “It’s not a comedy.”

“Oh.”

Once the credits start rolling, Perrine stands up. “Ah, I should head out from here, Gertrude. It was really nice having dinner with you!” She waves and you wave back as she leaves. You wonder how she actually got here so fast, but eh, some questions are best left untold.
