"I need you to accompany me to the nurse's office. I don't feel well and I need your help."

Oh. It's this ploy again. Today is a repeat of yesterday, tomorrow will be a repeat of today. No matter how many times her plan fails, Claire always tries to corner you in some secluded place on campus. She idly runs a finger across the plain barrette in her hair and repeats her request.

Hm, is that hairclip new? You ignore her and let your mind wander to more important things, like if you remembered to do the laundry this morning. You've been having trouble keeping a full closet of uniforms ever since you awakened as an Overed. Things just keep cropping up and destroying them one by one. If it's not some lunatic attacking you in the street, its your own transformations shredding them inadvertently.

Claire shoving her face up next to yours snaps you out of your idle thoughts. Her candy-scented breath tickles your nose and you lean back instinctively.

"Please, Captain, I honestly don't believe I can make it there on my own. I'm begging you for your assistance."

Well, she's taking it farther than usual today.

>I decided to break with my plan and staple together the two options voted for. Consider this an apology for not waiting a proper amount of time.

You frown at Claire. You agree to take her to the nurse's office during the next free period, but only so you can ask Shining Void about the strange tar you collected from the blacktop. The Zanzibar Fitness day is four days from now, and you still have to do a lot of work to make sure that the site is secure. Diablos and False Hearts are still at large, after all, and while you don't particularly care about fighting them, you do know you'll be in tremendous trouble if something bad happens on your watch.

"...How cold, Captain. What kind of a man ignores a frail maiden's needs?" Claire covers her face with her hands and looks away, "Sniffle, sniffle..."

Did she just say 'sniffle'? How dumb does she think you are? After peeking through her fingers and noting your lack of reaction, Claire takes her seat again and scoots over to you.

"It's fine. I like this denial play as well," Claire takes out a sheet of paper and sketches a quick outline of the athletic fields. She points her pencil to the blacktop, "This is the area we covered yesterday. I have the sample of the blacktop with me. The bleachers, the track, and the soccer fields still require a thorough search."

You nod and Claire continues to write on her stationary. Waiting for her to finish, you notice that her pencil is topped with one of those cutesy mascot erasers. Isn't this one the Devil Dog? The mascot for your school's athletic teams?
>>
>>29980132
After a few moments, Claire presents you with a list of names.

"There is still the matter of the competing schools. We have little to go on at the moment, but it stands to reason that there would be several False Hearts agents planted in these institutions. Investigating them for any suspicious activity is also one of our duties. I will follow your lead, Captain, so before we head to the nurse's office, tell me what you would like to do today."

That military school sounds like it could be easy to search. They're supposed to be very disciplined and orderly, right? Anything out of place should be that much easier to find.

"Understood. We will head there immediately after class."

--

You wish Claire wouldn't cling to you so much. This is the third time you've had to shake her off your arm on your way to the clinic, and it's gotten more than a little annoying. Claiming that she needs help to properly walk, Claire has tried to becomes some permanent feature in the crook of your arm, but you're not having any of it.

By the time you reach the clinic, you're completely fed up and use your newfound strength to thrown Claire into the room. More acrobatic than you'd normally give her credit for, Claire turns in the air and lands safely onto one of the cots. You don't have any time to be impressed by her prowess; by the time you've taken two steps into the room, Claire has already slipped off her blazer and taken a ridiculous pose on the cot.

"Now, lock the door."

You most certainly will not entertain these kinds of shenanigans.

"...While I'm not opposed to the idea, my heart isn't prepared for exhibition just yet, Captain..."
>>
>>29980683
You sigh and shake your head. Once again, you turn your attention away from Claire and survey the room. Void really made herself at home here. The normal sterile, empty clinic has been replaced with a bright floral design. Posters cover the walls, and scattered books are lying about. You can see that the first aid kit has been thrown out of its case and replaced with a picture of that action movie star, Brice Wyllis. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see a glimmer of light peek out from the closet. Immediately, you throw open the door to see Shining Void.

She's got her usual white coat on, and pinned to her pink blouse is a small nametag with the name "Sally Willow" printed on it. What catches your attention is the small video recorder in her hand.

"Uh...Hi."

You snatch the recorder from her hands.

"No, wait!"

What's with that reaction? Is there something on here that she needs?

"Give that back, that's got some really good material on it."

Void gets up to take the recorder back from you, but your inhuman strength easily holds her at arm's length. Taking this opportunity, you check the recent memory of the recorder. Hm...looks like it's just the nurse's office. Nothing too interesting here. After a few seconds, you can see a female student and what looks like the head of the Math department walk in and sit down on the bed. Didn't she have the highest ranking in your class before Claire showed up? What's she doing here?

...Oh.

Well, that would explain how she manages to keep up with her studies.

You take the memory card out of the recorder and put it in your pocket. If Void wants this back, she's going to have to do her job for once.

"You mean you're not going to keep it for yourself?"

Of course you wouldn't. You don't have any interest in this kind of thing. After a moment of silence, Void looks over your shoulder at Claire, making a pained face.

"Are you sure he's, you know, working? Down there?"

"Absolutely," Claire gives a small nod, "I've collected many samples from the waste basket in his room."

Captain - Chronic Depression or Schizroid Personality Disorder
Clair - Autistic?, yandere, obsessed with fluffy tails
Chief - Seemed to have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, it was mentioned earlier she kept rearranging papers when they were already perfectly organized.
Lunatic High - Alcoholic, disgustingly poor hygiene
Shining Void - Supplies Lunatic High with alcoholic spit, apparently a voyeur
Ayase - Obnoxiously perky, clueless about her stalker Yager
Yager - Obsessed stalker

Fallen Angel - Haven't really interacted with her, but she acts like nobility and doesn't seem all "there".

Putting all this aside, you have to get that tar you collected yesterday looked at. You tell Claire to get the sample ready for Void. She nods and reaches into her pocket, and you see her begin to pull out what looks like a soiled tiss--

Not that! You throw the recorder at her and it smashes at the wall beside her head.

After getting the ball of tar out and handing it over to Void, you and Claire take a seat by the desk. Void takes the substance and rolls it around in her hand. After a few moments she takes it to her nose and sniffs it. Satisfied, she tosses the ball to you.

"It's plain old tar. Well, shredded tires and tar."

Is that it?

"Well, there's also the--"

The ball suddenly leaps out of your hand. In an instant, it forms a sharp point and shoots straight through your shoulder, embedding itself in the wall behind you. You clutch your bleeding shoulder. What the hell?

"--that. Renegade Material. This is the kind released by Orcus Syndrome users. They embed these particles into the environment and use them to control their surroundings. This one was set to go off against Renegade carriers."

What? Why didn't it bother Claire or Void?

"Well, it's specifically looking for a concentration of Renegade. In terms of particles per cell, I have a rating of about 1800.2. You have a rating around five times that. This is definitely False Hearts work, targeting people who are more likely to react under the stress of an attack."

You nod, taking in this new information in stride. You consider heading to North-Star, but the bloody hole in your uniform puts a damper on those plans.

"Allow me, Captain."

Claire runs a finger along your uniform, which stitches itself up. After a few moments, you see the bloodstain fade away. If she could do this before, why hasn't she been repairing your uniform the entire time?

"I enjoy seeing your bare flesh."

You refuse to push this subject any further. Immediately, you leave the school and head for the North-Star Academy.

--

...is this really a school? North-Star Academy is nothing more than a series of barracks with a few, sparse, brick buildings. You can see the students being marched back and forth between the buildings constantly. There are even more girls being run around the entirety of the campus, which you guess to have a mile or so perimeter. You can only assume that this is some form of physical training. Maybe searching this place won't be as easy as you thought.

You go to approach and a voice calls out to you.

"Hey, UG Dogs."

You turn around to see a girl. Her short cropped hair and dogtags let you know that she must be affiliated with the academy in some way, though she's only dressed in a tank top and what looks like sweatpants.

"Yeah, you. I'm the unlucky bitch that gets to show you around. Just so you know, I'm not one of your own, so don't try to act chummy."

You go to introduce yourself, but she waves you off.

There are a couple things that stood out to me. Not sure if they're the Overed Terrorists you're lookin' for, but I'll be happy to give you the names of the troublemakers."

She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a couple photos before tossing them at you.

"First one's name is Cadet Rin Kadokawa. A few days ago, she got caught with pocketfulls of live ammo. No weapon on her, and no weapons were missing from the armory or ranges. I don't know what she was doing with those, but it can't be good. This isn't her first offense. Before, she's been caught making unapproved calls to numbers we don't know about and disappearing for hours at a time. She'd be kicked out already if she didn't have the administration in her pocket. Her family's been in the US military since the Pacific War, first-generation immigrants, so they've still got a lot of clout."

"Second one is an instructor. Sergeant James Carpenter. A lot of goods have disappeared under his watch over the years, but that's probably not related to what you're looking for. Last week, he took a bunch of unapproved personnel to go prepare the athletic fields. He never showed any interest in the Fitness meet before, and we can't find the workers he used either. Brown crosses her arms.

Not entirely impossible. They're not as good at it as Bram Stoker's like the Chief, but Orcuses (Orci? It's been a while since I took Latin) can also make golem servants. Mind control, too. Some minor transmutation as well. They're the jack of all trades of Overed. They can't do anything as well as the other Syndromes (and they can't do self-alteration at all, so Exile and Chimera are out) but they can dabble in just about anything.

"Sergeant Carpenter, huh? Alright. His office is in that smallish building over there."

You nod and Cadet Brown goes back to her business. The building is like the others, red brick, simple construction, with a bronzed sign on the front telling you its purpose. Apparently, Sergeant Carpenter is the quartermaster around here, which makes sense if he's been constantly losing equipment. You place your hand on the doorknob and look behind you at Claire.

"Don't worry. I'll be here to back you up."

You were hoping for some advice on how to do this whole investigation thing, but Claire seems intent on just watching you stumble around like a moron. You open the door and peer inside. Equipment fills the small shack, far more than you would think could fit in here. Every single piece is squared away on hooks or in boxes, each labelled and clearly marked. The room has been meticulously cleaned. You can't even smell the residue of bleach or soap.

It doesn't look like Sergeant Carpenter is in right now, which leaves you with an opportunity to turn this place upside down looking for some kind of clue. If only you knew what one of those would look like. You're pretty sure that nothing of interest is going to be in with the uniforms or the canteens, but there are several areas to check. As far as you can see, you can search what looks like a desk, a set of lockers, or what looks like a safe.

That safe is tempting you, but while you're pretty sure you could open it, you'd leave it in a crumpled mess. You decide to ask Claire if she can do anything about it.

"Open the safe? Yes, I can do that."

She kneels down next to the safe and puts her hand on the lock. Her body begins to glow and she starts moving the dial over slowly. Just what is she doing?

"I'm focusing my sight to see beyond the visible spectrum of light. This allows me to view the structure of the safe. Now that I've memorized the safe's schematic..." The lock seems to melt away under her touch, revealing the contents of the safe. Looks to be a stack of papers. You pick up the stack and begin to flip through the pages. A lot of this is nonsense. Must be coded or something. Still, it must be something important.

You look back to Claire and notice she seems out of breath.

"I'm sorry, but please give me a moment. I'll put the safe back together shortly, but this is beyond my...normal field of expertise."

It must be hard for a Tri-Breed like Claire to use multiple powers at once. You slip the papers into your coat pocket and go to inspect the lockers. There should be something of use here...

Suddenly, you hear footsteps approaching. Larger than the usual steps around here. A man. Late thirties and slightly overweight from the sound of his footfalls. That can only be Carpenter. Shit, you've got to do something!

...What's the point of hiding? You're going to have to do this eventually. You hand the papers to Claire and wait for the inevitable confrontation. A minute later, a uniformed man steps into the room. Clean shaven, with meaty jowls and sunburned, pink skin, this man matches the photo you were given--this is Sergeant Carpenter. His face grows red with rage the moment he lays eyes on you, and his scowl doubles in ferocity when he sees the state of his safe.

"Just what in the hell are you doing here?"

You take out that ID Card Fallen Angel gave you. This should give you at least some authority. You mention that you know about the work Carpenter did on the athletic field, but you needed to double check in order to see what work was done.

"Bullshit, son."

Well, you were never much of a bluffer. Maybe if you talked more often, you'd pick that skill up? Carpenter storms over to you and jabs a finger into your chest.

"You got till the count of three to give those documents back and explain yourself!"

You wrack your brain to figure out some kind of solution, but your mind keeps coming up blank.

"One!"

Could you say that you're some kind of real official? No, you already showed him that stupid card. It didn't do anything! You're going to have to take it up with Fallen Angel later.

"Two!"

How about just telling him the truth? No, no, no. Even if he didn't do anything wrong, you can't accuse someone of being a terrorist and then just walk away. You steal a glance at Claire, who merely shrugs at you. Great. Thanks.
>>
>>29984440
"Thre--"

The moment you release your Warding, Carpenter hits the ground with a dull thud. Well, this went poorly...

You didn't mean to use knock him out, it just sort of happened. Nevertheless, this is proof enough that he's not Overed at least. But what could those documents mean? You still can't read that code, and an Academy like this shouldn't have any secrets that the quartermaster would keep, right?

You help Claire up and take the papers from her, looking them over. Well, now what?

You tell Claire to copy the documents while you drag Carpenter into his chair. You do your best to ensure that, when he wakes up, he is utterly convinced he just had a strange dream. Meanwhile, you see Claire quickly scanning each page before turning a sheet of her notebook into an exact replica. She's finished in just a few short minutes, then replaces the original documents into the safe before closing it back up. She's fast. You wish your actual printer worked as quickly as she does.

"Kadokawa is next, isn't she? Shall we also confront her, or would you like to simply abduct her for interrogation?"

Claire's one of the good guys, isn't she? Well, isn't she?

--

After what feels like forever combing the campus, you finally find your target. Rin Kadokawa. You found her just off the grounds, past a hole in the barbed wire fence and in a small patch of trees. Something clearly has her upset, she keeps pacing back and forth, her hands clearly fidgeting with something inside the large pockets of her oversized, olive drab jacket. You're not too familiar with military ranks, but that jacket has far too many stripes to be a cadet. Must be something from her family.

You feel Claire's breath hit the back of your neck and nearly jump. You turn back to see her leaning over your shoulder.

"...She looks so cute. You're going to take her, right, Captain? You'll take her home, right? I won't mind helping you with this one."

You don't think Kadokawa is anything special, but you do consider the possibility of simply grabbing her and running. It might be a good idea to take her out of her comfort zone. Then again, if you have the wrong person, you could potentially be in a lot of trouble.

You clasp your hand over Claire's mouth and tell her to shut up. You focus your senses on Kadokawa. Normally, you do your best to shut out all the sensory overload that's accompanied your Renegade powers, but you need to pay close attention this time. You can see the small muscles in her face shift in response to stray thoughts, smell the hint of salt from her sweat, hear how she shudders with every breath...You swear you could taste something, but that's just silly, isn't it?

You hold perfectly still, not moving from your position or averting your attention from your target. And you wait. And wait. And wait. After what feels like forever, you sense the presence of someone new. But something's wrong about this. You're having a hard time getting any information on them. While you know for certain that a figure is approaching Kadokawa, a hazy fog surrounds them. Your sight, smell, or hearing cannot make out anything to identify them. It's like there's an impenetrable barrier between you and them. However, you do make out their conversation.

"...did you do it?" The figure asks. You think it is pointing its finger at Kadokawa, but you can't be sure.

"Y-yeah, I did it. Now tell me what I want to know!" You wouldn't need keen sense to tell how afraid Kadokawa is of this person. Everything about her is trembling in their presence.

"Not yet. Not until it's over."

"That's not what you promised..."

"I don't remember making any promises to you. I said that if you did well, maybe I would consider sharing that information."

"But..."
>>
>>29985363

The figure perks up, and you feel eyes burning themselves into your skull. Immediately, you swing behind the tree and hold Claire close.

"...I'm leaving. I suggest you take more care when we meet in the future."

Suddenly, the figure's presence is completely gone. You can't sense them at all. You hear Kadokawa begin to head back to the academy. You take your hand off Claire's mouth...nasty, it's covered in drool. As you absent-mindedly wipe the slime off on Claire's shoulder, you think about your next move. Maybe you should come back when Kadokawa isn't spooked? Or maybe now really is the best time to get some answers?

You swing out from behind the tree. Now's as good of a time as any to get the truth out of Kadokawa. The moment you show yourself, she jumps back and shoves her hands deep into her pockets.

"How much did you see?"

Well...

"Everything. Now, if you'll please come with us. The Captain and I would love to share you."

"Captain? S-share?" Kadokawa pales, "Who are you people?"

"There, there. It will be only hurt a little at first."

You try to shut Claire up, but the damage is already done. You feel the tingling of Warding pass over you, and you see Kadokawa pulling out what looks like bullets from her pockets. Holding a round between each finger, she holds up her arms and begins bobbing back and forth on her feet. Is this...a boxing stance?

"I won't let a couple of freaks take me that easily!"

She leans in and you smell ozone. All your hair stands on end, and the air begins to ripple. You look back at her and see a spark leap from one of her eyes, and she vanishes. You hear the peal of thunder and feel a tremendous impact in your chest, followed by the spasming of muscle. You're thrown back several feet, your chest smoking and burnt. You look down to see four puncture wounds, and your healing flesh pushes out several lumps of lead.
>>
>>29985954

You flick your eyes back to Kadokawa, who tosses away several spent casings from her hand and withdraws more ammo from her pockets. Lighting crackles around her as she readies herself for another charge.

You can hear Claire's pistol discharging, but the shots curve away from Kadokawa, refusing to get anywhere near her. She pulls back her fist, and you feel the tickle of electricity in the air...It's time to act!

You look to Claire, who, for a change, seems to be thinking the same thing you are. You leap up from the ground, and you see the spark leap from Kadokawa's eye as she trains her gaze upon you. However, this was just what Claire was counting on, as she fires off another barrage of shots.

"Useless!"

Though the bullets seem to veer away once more, they suddenly ignite, creating a blinding flash of light and a sharp bang. Kadokawa flinches, throwing up her hands. This is all the opportunity you needed to plant a fist into her gut. As you lift her off the ground by her solar plexus, your arms shift into the gnarled claws you've already grown too accustomed to. Kadokawa is thrown off your fist and slams into a nearby tree.

You intend to take her alive, but that doesn't mean she has to be in good shape. You leap into the air after her, crashing into both her and the tree. Your claws close around her neck as you dig into the bark, holding both you and her up. With the wind already knocked out of her by your punch, Kadokawa is already desperate for breath. She squirms under your grip, dropping the rounds she has in her hands.

She squints from the pain before grabbing your arm. She's nowhere near strong enough to pry you off, what is she--

Lighting strikes.

A bolt descends from heaven and strikes Kadokawa, lighting her up with electricity. While she seems fine, you can feel the energy surging through you painfully. Your limbs spasm, you can taste copper in your mouth, the smell of burning flesh and fur reaches your nose. You try to let go but you can't. Your arm is already locked in place by the current!

Strike: Strikes are fast, precision based attacks. Any attack which seems like it may rely on overwhelming speed or pinpoint accuracy is likely a Strike. As a general rule of thumb, most mundane gunfire is considered a Strike. Strikes defeat Crashes, but are defeated by Guards.

You can't escape! Resigning yourself to the pain, you pull back as far as you can. You're going to need all the leverage you can get for this.

"...G-giving...up?"

Hardly. You bring your head down upon Kadokawa's with all the force you can muster. There is a dull crack as your skulls collide and you see stars. However, you don't let this stop you. You rear back and smash her again and again. You rain of headbutts continues until Kadokawa finally releases you from her grip and kicks you away. You try to regain your senses as you fall, looking over to Kadokawa. She's a bloody mess, healing nowhere near as fast as you are. However, even though her eyes are glassy and unfocused, you can still sense determination behind them.

Shots ring out as Claire offers more support fire, but this time, the bullets don't swerve away. Several impact on Kadokawa's thigh and gut, and she seems to wake up from her temporary daze. She screams, turning away from the hail of bullets. Kadokawa is engulfed by a shell of electricity and then instantly flashes to the ground. You land only moments later, but by the time you ready yourself, Kadokawa is already gone.

You hear thunder and the splintering of wood all around you, and whip your head back and forth. Kadokawa flashes from tree to tree, slamming into each in the form of a lightning bolt, pausing only for a moment to reacquire Claire in her sights before charging the UGN agent again. Each time, Claire vanishes before the blow hits and reappears a few feet away. Fatigue is clear on Claire's face, and you can tell she can't keep this up much longer.
>>
>>29986733
It is then that Kadokawa notices you. She scales the tall trees, zipping between them to gain altitude before beginning her assault anew. Even with all your speed and endurance, dodging her only twice has left you completely exhausted. You see Kadokawa land on a tree opposite you, her eyes completely trained upon you.

She won't miss.

You body refuses to move.

The low rumble of thunder fills your ears...

>Guard.

She's using a high speed barrage of attacks. Looks pretty clear-cut.
>>
>>29986753
>>Guard
Use the Domination Howl. It will fuck her up whether she's striking or crashing. Just to be safe.
>>
>>29986753
I think this is going to be a Strike. It's accurate, as it said she isn't going to miss, I think she's going for the same thing that she did against Claire, which is a high speed barrage of attacks.

Guard, or Domination Howl because it'd be cool to stop her mid leap with a single massive roar that shuts her down.
>>
>>29986753
>Guard
>>Domination Howl
>>
>>29986753
Dominion Howl.
>>
>>29986753
>Guard

I'd like to use the Howl for style points, but I don't think this will be the end of the Scenario, so I'd like to save it.
>>
Are you sure you want to use Domination Howl? It will not be available to you for the rest of the scenario if you use it.

This isn't a trick or bait, it's really just a confirmation question and a reminder that this will be unusable until the Angel's High scenario is resolved.
>>
>>29986868
WHAT!?!

I thought "scenario" referred to a combat scenario, meaning it would be available again after this fight.
>>
>>29986868
reiterating that I do not want to use it.
vote was guard.
>>
>>29986868
I don't want to use it. It's overkill; we can use it when we're in a more desperate or important combat situation.
>>
>>29986753
Eeeeeh, that was our second point, wasn't it?
>Guard
>>29986868
>the WHOLE scenario
yeah no
>>
>>29986868
Oh, don't bother. I'm pretty sure it's a Strike, it's both fast and accurate, we're already way ahead in the fight, and I wasn't sure how long the recharge on it was.

If it's once for this entire arc, then save until we actually need it.

I mainly just liked the style of it.
>>
>>29986879
Nope. I'm pretty sure clarified Scenario as shorthand for the plotline when I discussed Renegade Abilities.

Sorry if I was unclear.
>>
>>29986868
Wait, it's seriously out of commission for the entire scenario and not just this fight? Yeah, in that case don't use it. If Claire's bullets are getting through to her then she's already on her last legs.
>>
>>29986868
>That's what scenario means
>These entire arcs
>Special abilities will never be used
>Ever

I hope they limit will raise more as we level up or something.
>>
>>29986904
You'll gain more. But I don't run combat crazy quests. Last scenario only had two combats, remember? It's not so bad.
>>
>>29986904
That or it means we'll spam the fuck out of them against bosses
>>
>writing
Again, sorry if the number of uses wasn't clear. I'll make sure to list it very specifically in the future and in the document.
>>
>>29986949
The document you haven't linked in this thread.
You also haven't linked the archives or your twitter.
You are a horrible QM. Just horrible.

>Guard Failed!
The attack was a Crash. The major hint this time was showing how futile continued attempts to dodge the attack ((Take a Guard action)) were. There was also a minor hints in Kadokawa's need to stop and readjust her aim and the final rumble of thunder telegraphing the attack.

You try to leap out of the way one more time, but your fatigue catches up to you. Your jump comes out a hair too late and you feel Kadokawa impact you with tremendous force. You are sent hurtling through the treeline, breaking through the trunks as you feel your spine get mashed into pulp.

You roll across the grass and cough up blood. Damn, you'll need a few moments to heal up after that. You get on your knees and turn back towards the patch of the forest. You see Kadokawa tumble out of the treeline, dodging gunfire as she flicks bullets from her hands back into the woods. Claire probably can't get a good angle at the moment.

You get up on your feet and run toward Kadokawa, who finally takes notice of you again. She reaches into her coat pocket, pulling dozens of rounds at once. The bullets fly up into the air, then spontaneously fire, sending their rounds toward you at high speed. The bullets tear through your knee, breaking your charge in an instant. More rounds fly from Kadokawas jacket as she begins to unleash a storm of rounds in two directions, one against Claire in the woods and the other against your stationary form.

Time slows down as your brain tries to process the stream of gunfire heading toward you. You grit your teeth, now or never.

If that isn't a Strike, I don't know what is

Crash with extreme prejudice.

WAIT, SHIT.

That should be a guard. My bad.

Okay so lesson to be learned here is 'ignore everything that happened to anyone else and only focus on what's being aimed at us right now'. Focusing on what she did to Claire screwed us over.
I could have sworn we only needed two wins to beat an encounter...
>>
>>29987276
It was changed to three, in order to make it somewhat harder.
>>
>>29987276
That was only one time, and it was because we were fighting Emofag McMopeyDouche the forgettable wonder.
>>
>>29987276
Yeah, it was kind of weird, I'm guessing everyone else felt the same way, in that the pursuit of Claire sounded like Striking, and I guess it just kind of solidified in my mind, but then I reread the preparation against Captain and it made sense as a Crash.
>>
>>29987319
Who?
>>
>>29987337
Exactly.
>>
>>29987337
Yeager, the guy who thought it'd be a great idea to secretly give his waifu tablets that would either kill her or give her super powers.

I guess you could say he was being overYeager.

>Guard Successful!

You hold up your arms, shielding your face and vitals as best as you can. You take in a deep breath and use all your willpower to just hold yourself together. You feel the rounds impact your forearms, drilling into the meat and bone, but that's not enough to stop you. Your hide thickens, and your healing begins to speed up. The blood dripping from your wounds dries as your body throws itself into overdrive.

Soon, you don't feel anything but a dull throb from the hailfire barrage, and you stand up once more. Keeping your guard up, you charge down the line of fire, shrugging off the rounds with your enhanced resilience as you close the gap with Kadokawa. You feel the hot lead tumbling off your body and you leap towards her, finally unfolding your arms. The cloud of bullets lies before you, but you slash them away, batting them out of the air in a single stroke.

Kadokawa reacts by pulling out another fistful of rounds, but it's too late. You swat her hand down, knocking the bullets away and breaking her wrist. You are just a few inches away, and you can hear Claire closing in from the other side. Kadokawa looks back and forth, and you can see her running through options in her mind before finally looking back at you. Tears well up in her eyes, and her voice cracks.

"I-I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me."
>>
>>29987404
Let's not be too hard on him, he was Clairely emotionally distraught.
>>
>>29987483
Thank you.
>>
>>29987489
The fight is over. You let your hands return to their normal form as a sign of mercy. Did it really have to come to this? All you wanted to do was talk and--

There's a loud smack. Kadokawa's eyes roll back in her head and she slumps forward. Claire is standing over her form, still holding her obscenely large firearm. Did...did Claire just pistolwhip her?

"Love pet acquired," Claire says, puffing her chest out in pride.

You sigh and put a hand to your head. You can't do anything but wait for her to wake up now...

THREAD END

Given this is Claire we're talking about, she'd obviously enjoy it. Not sure if there's really anything we can do she wouldn't like aside from just continuing to ignore her and trying to avoid getting involved in her shenanigans.
At Claire seems to have taken in unhealthy interest in Rin, so maybe we can get Claire to focus on harassing Rin and leave Captain to be mediocre by himself. Not particularly nice, but better her than us.
Failing that, Rin seems to be rather normal, maybe we've finally found a kindred spirit in the insane asylum that is New Zanzibar.
... Oh, who am I kidding? She's an overred, she's probably as crazy as the rest of the people Captain puts up with.
Being Captain is suffering.
>>
>>29989988
Rinrin is obviously the sensitive, crybaby type. I can tell from the stuttering and her fearful behavior.
>>
>>29990504
Those make the scariest yangires.
>>
>>29990504
So what are the odds of her developing Stockholm syndrome for Captain and/or Claire? Everyone else has some sort of disorder, but this would be the first time Captain caused it.
We should probably avoid using Domination Howl around her.
