You dig your heels to the floor and pull back with the arm that Revy's dragging you with. No, just...no. And to think you were getting impressed at how disciplined and professional the Sixteenth was being - brutal, sure, but nothing you yourself would've done if you were in the same shoes.

"Eh? What?" Revy blinks at you, before grinning. "Oh...you want to do me here, then? A nughty, dirty fuck right here, where anyone can just burst in on us?" It's with a hiss of air pressure that she starts to undo the seals of her armor, starting from her gorget. "Well, not usually what I go for, but what the hell. I'm up for anything once--"

No. NO! You shake your helmeted head, growling underneath your breath - before furiously pointing towards your left gloved hand's ring finger. "Married," You explain as gruffly as you can, making sure to talk like you're in the middle of gargling ground-up glass and gravel. After a moment, you slap an index finger against the palm of your other hand, fingers also spread. "Kids."

"So you're...actually married? And you have six kids?" The redhead frowns here, one armored hand reaching up to rake fingers through her hair. "...Alright, I did say I didn't mind if yer married, but that's...that's a pretty big family, actually. Didn't think a runt like you had it in 'im!"

Runt?! Before you could protest that, she grabs your hand and drags you forward again. "But who gives a shit about that? Come on, it's not like I'm gonna chase ya if I get preggers of somethin', that's taken care of. I haven't been laid the entire fucking time we've been stuck on this damn rig, and if I don't get some I swear I'm going to go completely fucking insane--"

You stop her again, this time hauling her back, now. She looks at you with widened eyes, and you take advantage of her stunned silence by pointing towards the stairs leading to the warehouse's second floor.

"TWO," you growl, before pointing to yourself and then clasping both your hands and resting your cheek against them. Miming the universal sign for sleeping. Or being so drunk off your ass you're knocked unconscious.

"Two other guys're sleeping off booze on the second floor?" Revy grins at this. "Well, that's even better! Alright, I guess you're free to go, then! Ya won't have to tell your wife about this!"

Shaking your head, you march stiffly out of the warehouse, feeling a sudden need for a very cold shower and very robust scrub.

Urrrgh. You're not all that happy to remember that you've been through this exact situation before. The first time turned out much better than this time, though, but...

You shake your head again as you find yourself outside the Warehouse, with your new uniform. It's a bit loose around the sleeves, but not enough that you look like someone who'd stolen a uniform and wearing it as a disguise. Making you indistinguishable from the security detail roaming around Big Shell.

Anyway. Where do you go, now? Do you want to investigate the other struts, or go directly to the core of Shell 2? You'll note that the security detail in front of the entrance to the core is somewhat thinned out, but still a considerable presence.

You fidget slightly in your stolen uniform as you make your way to Strut K. From what you can remember from the dossier Kyuubey's given you, it's the part of Shell 2 that houses a Biochem Lab. You're not all that sure what you'll find there, but if it helps to give you a clue as to where they're keeping your main objective, then it was a trip worth taking.

As you make your way towards the strut - keeping your pace hurried but calm, trying your best not to attract undue attention - it's here that you switch on your helmet's own comms, after making sure the one you shared with your two captured team mates are lowered enough to not carry in case they tried to reach you. Seeing if their own idle radio chatter could give away just where the item you're looking for is stored - or whatever the fuck it actually is, besides a jewelry box.

...

After a few moments, you irritably switch the comms off. No such luck. Whoever hired the security detail made sure that even the security detail didn't know what the hell they were supposed to be guarding. And whatever security agency they came from was smart enough to encrypt their comm-language with an unfamiliar lexicon, just in case anyone unauthorized would be listening it - making it useless for you to listen in just to keep track of what they're doing.

You let out an irritated breath into your helmet's air filter. God damn Murderface and her stupid plans - if it'd just been you working alone, or with Kyoko, this'd be a much simpler milk run.

And Kyoko herself wouldn't have been--

No. No. There's no need to think about her, not right now. Kyoko's hurt, but she's still alive - and Murderface promised you she'd take care of everything.

...Jesus. You're trusting Murderface with Kyoko now? Really?

God damn. You're much more far gone than you fucking thought.

Anyway. Strut K. There are two guards stationed outside the Biochem Lab, but they merely wave you through as soon as you come near. ...Didn't even ask for an off-helmet identity check. You bite back the temptation to lecture them about being just as bad as regular jackoffs when it comes to keeping shit secure - it'd probably fall on deaf ears and give you away anyway, so why bother?

The Biochem lab is just what you imagined: a boring biochemistry nerd's dream, filled with test tubes, microscopes, chemicals and whatever else they use to look at really small stuff with. The entire place is painted a blinding, sterile white, too - making you feel that much more out of place with your stolen black uniform. Thankfully, it's deserted, and clearly haven't been used for a while.

There's nothing really of interest here, which is also a bit disappointing. You were expecting...well, you don't really know what you were expecting. Maybe a hidden room full of human-sized test tubes, with naked Magical Girls swimming inside them? Or another room, full of deformed clones of someone, each one begging you to kill them than let them suffer another moment of their cursed existence.

That would've been really cool, anyway.

A bit more ransacking of the place nets you something you could probably go on, though - a box of printouts, freshly discarded in a bin. A lot of the printed information is blacked out with black marker, but most of it seems to describe some sort of huge battle tank or something being stored in the recently-converted Shell 2 Core, and how it's been modified to no longer require a pilot, instead operating fully on a rigidly-coded AI.

Huh. Well. That's...neat, you guess? An automated tank thing? You're not too sure why the fuck it'd be stored here, in the middle of the fucking ocean of all places. What good is a tank when you're surrounded with water?

>>
>>29990642

You shake your head here, crumpling the papers and tossing them back into the bin. Just some shit about a tank, then. No clue as to where the main objective's stored, or what it is.

...That said, would they still store the item in Shell Core 2? Maybe they're using the tank itself as a sort of sentry for it, just like how Haruka's guarded by automated guns back in HQ?

Hmm. That kind of makes sense, then, if you think about it--

Your train of thought is interrupted by a small beeping sound in your ear - and your eyes go wide as you recognize the sound. It's your codec headset, calling for attention.

Looking around briefly - making sure you're clear - you crouch down behind a file cabinet before all but tearing your helmet off. Pressing the earbud tighter against your ear with your index finger to amplify the sound.

"Sayaka...?" It's Kyoko, her voice strained and weak, but otherwise fine. "Sayaka, are you there? Guh, this sucks...goddamn fuckers shot my goddamn leg AND arm off...! Sayaka, are you there?"

Well, she's complaining, so that's a good thing, at least. That means she's still kicking.

How do you respond?

So... It's entirely possible that what they're guarding and what we're after isn't the same thing.

Or, what we're after is something which is an absolutely vital component OF the thing they're guarding.

Hmm.

The main thing is, they're probably going to assume we're after what they're guarding, so this could still work out in our favor.

If Kyoko broke under interrogation (hard to believe she would so quickly), then they already know about Sayaka, so no reason not to answer. The headset issue is not necessarily a big deal, since if they escaped somehow, Chiaki could probably have pulled a new one from the Shield.

They know they caught someone from the 9th. That is enough to figure out Chiaki and Kyokos identity as that is public information.
>>
>>29991213

They took her soul gem and threw her in a silent room.

She ain't got shit.
>>
>>29991227

Either way it's a gamble. If they are in a silent room and they are fishing to see if there is a third person, we give ourselves away if we speak. If they have escaped and we say nothing, we leave them in the dark.

This discussion is going in circles, can we talk about something else?
>>
>>29991228
also, Kyoko actually used Sayakas name right before she got sniped.

The only question if they know quite who they have. Sure, they could figure it out easy enough. The only question is whether they have reason enough to investigate.

You bite back the instinct to start lecturing Kyoko over codec. Namely, how the fuck did she get tagged by a sniper? You know she can move much, much faster than that. Hell, she can fucking block bullets with her spear! What the hell happened there?

But yeah. that's...that's for after you all get the hell out of here with the main objective. You'll have all the time in the world to grill Kyoko about her careless mistakes once she's safe in a sickbay bed, getting ready to regenerate her lost limbs.

So instead of that, you ask her status. And how's she getting in contact with you, anyway? Didn't they take her gear, along with Murderface's?

"Not so good, but I'm not bleedin' all over the place anymore, so that's a plus." You hear her grunting in exertion, her breathing ragged. "An' Murderface palmed me hers just after they tazed her. Managed to keep it outta their reach when they started friskin' us - don't ask me how." She laughs, weakly. "Owww. It hurts to laugh, too? Goddamn bitch broke my ribs...!"

You tell her to suck it up and deal with the pain. To remember her training.

"Y-yeah. Yeah. It's...it's worse than it sounds, Sayaka. I'll be fine."

...Right. What about Murderface, then? How is she?

"They got her in the Silent Room next door. ...I think mine's sorta busted, or it's not gettin' enough juice, because I haven't even thrown up once." Another pained grunting from Kyoko, this time enough that you couldn't help but grit your teeth yourself.

"...They're workin' her over with a baseball bat, l-last I heard. I think they're tryin' to break her kneecaps or somethin'. Doesn't seem to be workin', though...all I hear is a lot of hitting, an' Murderface laughin'. Ya know, like Kharn used to? When she really got mad?"

The only question now is whether or not we take the bait of heading down to the Shellcore immediately.

Sayaka is probably dumb enough to do it.

I hate to say it but Kyoko's story sounds rather... convienient. Irritatingly it's just enough to be believable, though.

Think they purposely left Kyoko in a low powered silent room? A logical extension of the same tactics they employed when sniping Kyoko?

Robot thing in Shell 2 Core...? Probably the AI-controlled tank you read about, then, which pretty much confirms where you think the main objective may be stored. You scramble for the bin you just threw the printouts into and uncrumple them - looking over them once more, to see if there's anything useful about the tank you can learn about.

As you do so, you tell Kyoko that you haven't yet explored the core of Shell 2, but you're planning on doing so.

"Y-yeah? Hah, it sounds like it's gonna be really fun, though..." It's here that Kyoko's pain-wracked voice seems to grow a bit regretful. "Sorry...sorry for fuckin' up again, Sayaka. I...I don't really know what the hell happened, it's just..."

You swallow here, finding your throat painfully dry, before forcing yourself to keep the mission at the forefront. No. If Kyoko wants to apologize, she'll have to do it later, not now. Later, when you're back in Headquarters. Not during a mission.

...Christ, Miki Sayaka. Keep it the fuck together. You're Equerry AND Rank Leader. Fucking act like it.

"...Okay." Kyoko coughs this out, wetly. "Yeah. After everyone's safe, and everything."

Right. Now...besides Murderface acting like a fucking lunatic while she's being interrogated, did the idiot say anything about a plan? Did she explain anything to Kyoko?

"N-not...not really? I mean, besides....besides telling me that she'll be taking care of things, an' asking me to get some sleep?" Kyoko laughs at the last bit, before groaning in pain again. "Oh, yeah, there was somethin' about a high score, too..."

Is that right?

Murderface, what the fuck are you planning?

"I think she's gonna bust us out after her interrogation or somethin, I'm not sure," Kyoko continues. "But I don't think she's gone crazy or anything. I still trust Murderface. She's never let me down before."

[1/2]
>>
>>29992107
Not that it matters too much, since going in sword swinging is the only real response- just a question of how to apply Sword A to Meguca B and what happens before that.
>>
>>29992119

Well. Regardless of what she feels about Murderface, you tell her to be careful. You have the suspicion that your Warmaster isn't home right now, and something else is in control of her. But that in itself may be a good thing, so...yeah. Just be careful.

"I will. I'm...always c-careful. When did I ever become careless, Sayaka?"

Oh, maybe some time earlier, when she got her arm and leg shot off--

"With the exception of recent events."

...Yeah. Well. Just be careful, like you said. And if you get the item before Murderface busts Kyoko out, you'll bust them out yourself.

"Alright, alright. Jeez. We're at Strut F, I think." A moment's silence. "...Love you, Sayaka."

You feel your cheeks heat up before murmuring it back. Adding 'you idiot' at the end of it should not have been felt so awkward, or sounded so half-assed.

The connection severs itself with a beep, and look over the papers again. Trying to scrounge for any information left in its massively-redacted text.

A few moments later, you find it.

"...Replacing the Hydraulic Cutter with the Plasma Cannon was no easy task, as the machinery necessary for the latter is much more delicate and much more elaborate than what is essentially a super-powered watering hose. The energy required for a single discharge is also much higher - therefore, the pilot should allow for a generous cooldown period after every discharge, or it will overload the power generators and cause RAY to momentarily shut down, defenseless. A minimum discharge interval of five minutes would be sufficient."

So...you just have to make it fire its plasma whatever at you really quickly, and then you'll have enough time to kill it? That's...yeah, that's a pretty glaring weakness.

You crumple the papers back into a ball and toss it into the bin again, before making your leave of Strut K. With your helmet back on, no one seems to care that you're just walking around the fucking place.

I will laugh my ass off if we destroy the robot, only to find that it was protecting some blueprint for some military super weapon that the 16th was working on. Or something we aren't looking for in general.

"Fine, you win, you can have the maguffin."
"... I don't want it."

You carefully unsling Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie from your shoulder and pressing it against your hip - the automatic straps flying out and cinching tight around your waist, securing the weapon in its most effective position for you to use. A glance towards the welcoming committee tells you that they haven't yet clued in on what you're about to do - something that will change very, very soon.

Your very first stride brings you to full speed the moment it makes contact with the ground - and even with the unfamiliar uniform, even with the annoying helmet, you couldn't help but grin at the all-too-heady sensation of speed.

A sensation made all the more sweeter by the fact that the speed is coming from you - not from some beast of metal and oil and smoke, or some crutch-device that would only make you vulnerable when it inevitably breaks down. It's all you - you pushing the boundaries of just how fast a Magical Girl, one trained as harshly and as sadistically as you have, could go. How fast she can move, how fast she can react.

How fast she can kill.

Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie's first blood is a soldier just about to unsling his rifle to fire at you. By the moment you whip past him, the crimson length of Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie had already sliced clean through his armor, then then flesh, then bone. You don't even spare him a glance as he collapses into two bisected halves, each one gouting dark arterial blood.

The second comes in the form of an enterprising young man looking to make short work of you with an oversized knife. At the speed you're going, his eager stab looks less of a killing move and more of a theatrical feint - an actor telegraphing a stage murder by overexagerrating his gesture, overextending.

You slice off his fingers with one small stroke, then his hand at the wrist, and then finally his head from his neck on the backswing.

You've already moved on by the time he started to fall apart. The execution itself taking less time than for you to actually blink.

The third, fourth and fifth die in similar ways - abandoning their post to attack you, panicked yells of rage and betrayal blaring from their vox-speakers. Each one ending up as disassembled biological wreckage by the time you've slipped past, the crimson of their blood adding to your blade's.

Sixth. Seventh. Eighth. Ninth. At the twelfth - the soldier's last breath bubbling in his helmet as you sliced him in two, from skull to groin - you move to cut off the Shell 2 Core from the rest of Big Shell. Two quick swipes with the quickened blade of Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie had each bridge collapsing under their weight, folding down and pointing downwards to the sea.

There. That should keep reinforcements busy for now.

With the Core all but clear, you slip into the entrance - leaving behind a red tide of blood and gore in your wake.

Proving once more - both to the world and to yourself - that you're not Rank Leader AND Equerry for nothing.

. . .

And from what you're seeing as you enter the Shell 2 Core proper - the 'core' isn't called that for nothing, either.

Nearly four times bigger than the struts you've been investigating so far, the second core of Big Shell is huge and vast - tall, too, probably big enough to qualify as a fucking hangar for commercial jets. You've read in the dossier that this core was supposed to house the filtration system, or something - but evidently it's been converted to house something much, much more important than machinery to scrub oil particulates from sea water.

And you're looking at it.

It's...well, it is kind of a tank? You guess?

In the sense that a giant fucking robot resembling a really angry chicken is a tank. A giant featherless chicken with its wings raised straight out into the air as if getting ready to fly or get into a slapfight. It's the sort of robot you'd think otaku would make, except a lot less gundam-like.

It IS pretty huge, you'll give it that. You don't even want to know how they got something like this made without attracting international attention - isn't this the sort of thing countries get into war with each other?

Despite what Kyoko told you, however, it doesn't seem to be activated. It's not moving at all, not even when you step forward.

It's standing there, slightly hunched, its great beaked head glaring down at you as if silently contemplating to crush you with one of its back-jointed legs.

It's also here that you see it - the main objective. Finally. The old lady jewelry box, in its full-on gaudy glory - placed in what looks to be a tough-looking display case. On the hangar floor, right in front of the giant chicken robot tank. Between its massive, stompy legs.

Well. If this isn't a trap, you don't know what is.

What do you do?

[]Take the main objective. It'll attack you no matter what, so you may as well.

The definition of smash and grab is a Pink Panther jewlery heist, on a jewlery store or a transport that is a small target with a specifically open or weak security that can be pulled off in less than five to ten minutes, before adequate response can be mustered up.

Well, its a given that Tiny Pete will be summoned soon.

I am sure he can take the successive Plasma Cannon blasts which will cause Ray to overload and allow Sayaka to dice it up.

The only way Wendy wants to murder us is smothering us with pancakes and her giant american ballistics she keeps hidden under that sweater

She has gone the path of "stealing my woman back from that bitch" thanks to Amber and Pinky brainwashing her to be her puppet by deepening her feelings for Chiaki and using those hopes to her own ends

>>
>>29994405
aw, shit.

Why didn't we trip the trap with Pete?
>>
>>29994405

We might not need to.

The dossier said it had a simplistic AI right?

What we need to do is figure out the routine that triggers the plasma attack and then attempt to duplicate the situation again.

We can summon Pete AFTER.

Because Pete and Rex will take chunks out of each other. The MGs against Pete? Maybe not so much.

Wendy would do anything Murderface asked of her. She also is not Pinky i.e. does not want to kill Chiaki at all. More like sex her as hard as humanly possible. She and Midori would also probably hit off to a godly sempai / kouhai duo if they ever got into talking (and Wendy does prefer talking over stabbing to some degree ever since it worked so well with Murderface).

If Chiaki would have wanted to she could have reached Wendy very soon. She has issues to work out though and doesn't seem like she will abandon her friends she's trying to keep safe right now.

Man, I line Wendy but I gotta say that you're being a tad too optimistic here. She really likes Chiaki, yes, but she has her own goals and motivations and I seriously doubt she would put those aside for Chiaki.

Because so far she hasn't.

I'm using that phrase in the human frame of reference that Murderface would not honestly ask anything of Wendy that Wendy would not give or do for her on her own. Especially since I KNOW for a FACT that Chiaki (i.e. Anon) will be chomping at the bit to help her overcome those troubles as soon as they come into proper contact.

You look up at the huge metal beast guarding the small, nearly-insignificant treasure chest - and you couldn't help but feel that you've seen this somewhere. Some game that you watched Kyoko play during a vacation leave, perhaps? Or maybe in those subtitled Hollywood fantasy movies that you rented out that one time?

Well, wherever it's from, you know how this goes. The protagonist tries to get the treasure, but instead gets attacked by the giant monster statue that he thought was just a statue. It's a cheap scare, a parlor trick - and you can't believe that whoever's running this operation had the temerity of setting up his security like this.

Slamming Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie back into its sheath - after flicking the blood off of the blade, of course - it's here that you all but tear off your disguise, piece by piece, as you step forward to claim your prize. Each step echoing in the otherwise empty core, bouncing off the metal walls.

The moment you get within ten paces of the main objective is when two crimson lights suddenly flare into life on the robot's unorthodox, pinched-beak skull - and you watch with cold-eyed fascination as the thing, huge as it is, begins to move.

Calling it a robot...it's a misnomer, no. This thing looked like it had muscles under its armor, rather than pistons and machinery. As it craned its neck to look at you, you saw its articulated neck flex and grow taut, like corded muscles underneath skin. And it did so with such an economy of movement - shifting its weight here and there to keep you in its sights. Murderous intent definitely in its movements, but restrained, under the surface, waiting to be let out when necessary.

It almost makes you feel better that you'd be killing a machine instead of something that can actually bleed and die.

As your feet bring you finally face to face with the main objective - your entire disguise divested, your cape billowing in the frigid air - it's here that you look up once more at the metal beast crouched in front of you. Its beady little eyes, blazing a hellish crimson, riveted to your every move, waiting for your first ever mistake.

It's here that you smirk at it - at its cameras - before driving your entire fist right through the display case.

Immediately, crimson light floods the entire core - klaxons blaring as it announced a Shell-wide core alarm. The beast rises from its crouch, making the platform it's on shake with every stomp of its reverse-jointed feet - before spreading its wings and screaming to the heavens, portions of its skull opening up to reveal a giant maw.

You ignore this and pick out the main objective - the jewelry box - from the broken glass of the display case. It's...heavier than you expected, much too heavy for something its size, but you stuff it into your inventory all the same.

[INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT] You hear the biomechanical monster bellow. [ENGAGING SECURITY PROTOCOLS]

"That's fine!" You shout at it. "All night long I've been waiting for an excuse to cut loose!" You slide out Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie from its sheath - the crimson blade glowing much more brightly than usual now, as if re-energized by its most recent bathing of blood. "You'll do for a warmup, you stupid bucket of bolts and shit - and then everyone else in this fucking rig is next."

Swinging the sword once, then twice, it's here that you center yourself - both feet apart, knees slightly bent, and the handle gripped by two hands. The crimson length of the sword aimed at the thing called RAY.

"Okay." You smile at the monster towering over you. "Let's dance."

You are a Magical Girl, and you're waking up from a bad dream.

For one thing, your head feels like two sizes too small for your brain--

"Murderface." A vox-ravaged voice crackles, much too loud, into your ear. "I envy your name."

And the skull in front of your face is smiling.

You shake your head - and it's here that you realize that you've been dragged into some sort of interrogation room. Your hands are tied - securely - behind your back, lashed into the wooden chair you're now sitting on. It's with a cold start that you realize your Soul Gem is gone, along with your Shield. And your glasses.

...Funny. You feel a lot more naked without that last thing.

It's here that something else other than the cold, sterile room swims into focus - it's that armored Magical Girl from earlier, with her full-body carapace and helmet and everything. But it's not...the one who knocked you out, you think. This one is a bit more confident, more assured. And taller.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, Murderface." The Magical Girl says. "My name is Freon."

"Freon as in you're a cold, frigid bitch?" You find yourself replying, a grin curling your lips.

She's got a baseball bat and you're tied to a chair.

Pissing her off is obviously the smart thing to do.

[And now for something completely different. Find the rest of ya boi Archival's writeups here: http://pastebin.com/u/Grizzlyniisan ]

There was a time, long, long ago, when Varrigan City was pure. Families arrived, bright-eyed and full of hope, their futures laid out before them. There was a time before skyscrapers blotted out the sun in the financial districts. Before hovels sprawled across every available space like a filthy calico mosaic of aluminum and steel. A time before guns and drugs flowed through the city almost as easily as the unclaimed bodies left in the sewers. There was a time, believe it or not, when the boogeyman was just a story, and children had the luxury of fearing monsters that existed only in their minds.

A time before Horzine. A time before Doctor Strauss.

The company seemed to spring up overnight; nobody could quite figure out exactly when it had arrived. They started small, a pharmaceuticals company with a handful of under-the-table deals with gangs and the odd cartel. Combat stimulants designed to unlock the hidden potential of the mind and body. Designer narcotics that hooked people with just the slightest whiff. They sold the good stuff, and soon enough, people took notice. Money rolled in, drugs rolled out, and like a hungry infant, the company grew. The city was alive and drug money was the blood pumping through its veins.

With the right people paid off, nobody noticed if a few vagrants disappeared every now and again. A few bums here and there, a hooker or two, maybe an orphan - people nobody would miss, and never enough to raise any eyebrows. It was only a matter of time before the boogeymen got bolder. Civilians disappeared. Respectable, working men and women - or at least as respectable as you could get in Varrigan. Children were snatched from school yards in broad daylight. Fed by the city, Horzine had grown into a monster.

Soon enough there were two classes of citizen in Varrigan City: those that worked for Horzine, and those that didn't. Even if you didn't work for them, chances are that you were only alive because of their money. Those that flourished lived in high-rise apartments that radiated around the Horzine HQ like a swarm of piglets suckling at their mother's teat. The city centre was a burnished metropolis of business suits, fancy cars and not a clean conscience in sight. Beyond that square mile of luxury were the concrete tenements of the not-so-lucky, who could at least thank their God of science for at least letting them keep their heads above the surface of the filth. The rest of the city was dominated by shacks and shanties on land owned by Horzine and controlled by a new batch of gangs every day.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before it all came crashing down. Like the fall of Rome, Horzine's empire was struck down in the blink of an eye. All six bridges off of Jefferson Island now only led straight into a cold, watery grave and the single tunnel out fared no better. Cell towers were destroyed, phone lines were severed. Varrigan burned and its master had fled, leaving beasts and madmen to flood the already hellish streets. The citizens would answer for what they allowed to pass.

Eliza Thorne let out a strained groan as air filtered out of her bruised lungs. It took several more moments for her the fire in her mind to finally ignite. She peeled her face off of the cold, hard ceramic floors as every stiff joint and muscle screamed in protest. A stabbing pain shot through her right ankle as she tried her best to stand - sprained, no doubt. With a sigh of defeat, she did her best to pull herself over to a wall to sit against. The grimey, green-tinged corridors of the Horzine HQ were eerily silent, she noted. Even her walkie-talkie was oddly mute, and after a few vain tries, she confirmed that it was either dead or being jammed.

Thorne took a deep breath, staring into her lap as she tried desperately to remember what had happened. The last thing she could recall was seeing her only ticket out of that hell hole go up in flames in front of her eyes. Everything seemed to get fuzzy after that. There was running, screaming and shooting. The details were all lost to an andrenaline-induced haze.

Protocol Ten had been a lie. No - not quite a lie; an ommission of fact. No one in the security team had known exactly what the protocol entailed; everyone always just guessed that the city would either be burned or blown up. The only instruction any of them had been given was to defend the building at all costs. Thorne snorted, a short chuckle born of morbid mixture of anger and amusement. Of course they would be holed up in the building. It was the most heavily defended place in the city. Of course, that meant jack shit if what they were supposed to be defending against came from within. Then it just turned the stalwart defenders into fish in a barrel.

A large clock on the wall told her that it was just about six o'clock in the evening - which meant that she had been knocked out for the better part of an hour. Even in that short span of time, Thorne could feel a prickling, tingling sensation clawing at the right side of her body like some creature trying to break free. She would need to get to her quarters soon. She couldn't go for too long without her medication or else... things she didn't like to think about would start to happen to her.

With a pained groan, Thorne pushed her injured leg outward and focused on her foot. Something inside of her twisted and churned, something not quite magical nor biological that shaped flesh and muscle like clay. A muffled scream escaped the scarred girl's lips as she tried to yank her foot free of her boot. Pain stabbed at her foot as bone began to reshape itself. Her hurried hand pulled her combat knife free of its sheath and rammed it down the boot, desperate to cut it open. A moment later, the boot came free after she had sliced through the side.

Thorne stared as flesh churned beneath her skin, knobs and spikes appearing and disappearing within moments. The girl stuffed the knife's hilt in her mouth to keep from screaming. She could either endure a minute or two of agony, or be forced to limp her way through a warzone for a week. Her soulgem had lost its spark long ago; the Doctor's experiments had rendered it little more than a fashionable accessory. It didn't accumulate grief, sure, but Thorne was also robbed of her magic in the process.

The now ex-security chief slumped back against the wall as the pain subsided and her knife tumbled into her lap. Fumbling around on her utility belt, she grasped what looked like little more than a standard insulin pen. Thorne yanked off the cap and measured the clear liquid inside. Only one dose was left. With a disappointed sigh, she jammed the needle into her neck, thumbed the top button and relaxed. Almost immediately, the tingling sensation in her right side dissipated - even the scarring seemed to fade away slightly.

Pulling herself to her feet, Thorne gave her toes an experimental flex before putting her weight on the freshly healed foot. Sure enough, the pain had vanished. She couldn't help but smile, grateful that her foot had regenerated properly; not even an extra toe or anything unusual this time. As she took a cursory glance down the halls, the security officer could already spot shards of glass from broken light fixtures and office windows littering the floor. With one last grumble, Thorne did her best to tie her boot back together and began her journey to the stairwells.

Eliza (she had always preferred the name over 'Elizabeth') Thorne had never been particularly lucky. She could barely even remember her time before the experiments. She was snatched up from one of Varrigan's over-populated, unhygenic orphanages somewhere around the age of ten, then Shanghai'd into a contract with one of the incubators - probably the Thirteenth - and finally handed over to the good Doctor herself. Thorne couldn't even remember what she wished for anymore or how long she had even been a real magical girl for. Not terribly long, at any rate.

I don't think Wendy works out very well as a pairing for Chiaki, but I do really like the character. I think she's well aware that Chiaki isn't Kong and that she still wants to try and make things work regardless.

On the other hand, I'm sure anon will try anyway.

Thorne had the good fortune of being the first magical girl to survive the Maerorus procedures. With no magic left, the Doctor was generous enough to give her a job on the Horzine security team. She proved to be a good shot and a decent leader in the field, so long as someone else was telling her her objectives. Thorne had the pleasure of knowing just about every horrid abomination locked up in the deep, dark bowels of the building. Hell, she had even made friends with a few of the more recent Maerorus subjects.

As she rounded a corner, the first sounds of activity reached her. Immediately, her training kicked in and she crouched against the wall, pistol drawn. Thorne peered around the corner, forced to peek out a little more than she would have liked because of her bad eye. In the distance, she could see a figure slowly making its way further down the hall. It looked human - an adult man by the looks of him - but his movements weren't quite right. He looked ill, taking sudden, jerky steps forward with heavy footfalls.

Thorne rounded the corner silently, still crouched as she crept up to the man, her gun trained on him the whole way. He was wearing the same security uniform as her, which meant he had to be one of her subordinates. As she crept closer, Thorne couldn't help but notice a faint buzzing coming from the other security officer's direction. It wasn't until she was less than ten feet away that she called out.

"Freeze!" Thorne shouted, standing upright. "Turn around slowly and keep your hands where I can see them!"

The man froze. His head lolled to the side as he shuffled around slowly. It wasn't until she could see the man's blackened eyes that the head of security realized exactly what she was looking at.

Thorne had made a bad call.

She recognized him as an older guard by the name of Masterson. He was one of the few security officers who had actually been around longer than Thorne. Few managed to survive anywhere near that long. The front of his uniform was torn open and his entrails hung loose, covered in buzzing flies the size of a man's thumb. The insects flitted about, circling the officer before crawling back into his chest cavity, bloated on flesh and other unmentionable matter. Every now and then Thorne could see moving bumps of roughly the same size moving around just beneath his skin.

"Oh no," she muttered, taking one terrified step back. "No, no, no..."

"Sssisssssster," the man breathed, sounding more like a wheeze than a word.

"STAY BACK!" Thorne screamed. "Take one more step and I'll shoot!"

Masterson - or what was left of him - jerked as a sharp breath escape his nostrils. A laugh. They both knew the gun would be useless. Thorne already knew what was wrong with him. She'd seen it dozens of times before. Of all the terrible, hideous experiments she could run into, it had to be...

"Typhus," she whimpered. "Don't do this! For the love of god, PLEASE-"

The man took a jerky step forward, making the girl's breath catch in her throat.

"Wheeere... is Motherrr?" He asked. "We cannot fiiind herrr..."

"She- She's gone!" Thorne wailed in reply. She could already feel her eyes getting warm and wet. "Just don't move!"

"GONE?" 'Typhus' glanced around the hallway, as though expecting to find her there. "Wheeere... has she gooone?"

"I don't know! Just please don't... please," the security officer pleaded, trying to wipe her tears away, "not like this..."

"Whyyy do you cryyy, sissster?" The man's brow furrowed. "Whyyy... would we hurrrt one of ourrr... BELOVED sissstersss?"

"Then what?!" Thorne cried. It was clear from her voice that her hope had already left her. "What do you wan-"

"You wiiill help us FIIIND Motherrr."
>>
"Don't you get it?!" The girl wailed, growing angry in her desperation. "She's GONE! She left the city hours ago! Who knows where she is now!"

The man stopped, and for a brief moment, even the ever present buzzing went silent, too.

"Then," he mutttered, "we mussst go afterrr herrr..."

Thorne froze, almost forgetting to breathe. She couldn't afford to let Typhus leave the island. No force - mundane or magical girl - could withstand Typhus' wrath.

"N-no, Typhus," Thorne said, trying to collect herself. "Where- Where are you? I'll come down. We'll talk! I'll explain everything! Just- Just don't do anything rash, o-okay?"

'Typhus' stopped as he absorbed the security officer's words. Finally, after what seemed an eternity to Thorne, he nodded.

"We shall take you to usss," he answered. "Thisss man will..."

"Escort?"

"Essscort," the zombified guard repeated, nodding as he tried the word out. "Yesss... Thank you, sissster. Now come..."

Thorne smiled gently, wiping the last of her tears away as the man shuffled around. She almost even giggled. It was easy to forget that Typhus, Host of the Destroyer Hive, was nothing more than a frightened little girl looking for her 'mother'.

Does she still want Chiaki? Yes, otherwise she wouldn't have been so upset over the picture. She might, however, eventually find that Chiaki has changed too much from the person she used to like (another of my misgivings about that pairing).

Both Chiaki and Midori have died too, so I don't see how that matters at all.

As for being a threat, she has no intention of killing Midori at present. She might become a threat in the future depending on how she is treated, but for know I think you're blowing things out of proportion
>>
True to her word, the fly-ridden guard led Thorne down into the labrynthine depths of the Horzine HQ, never straying too far to scout ahead. As they made their way down, more of the shambling zombies began to follow along until it seemed a full squad of Thorne's former subordinates had joined them. Strangely, it didn't seem to bother her, seeing her former comrades as shambling, fly-ridden corpses. She had never felt entirely at home among them. Eliza Thorne was a strange existence caught between being human, magical girl and something else altogether.

When they finally reached holding cell forty-nine, the men stepped aside and stood at attention, like a band of royal guards. Thorne stopped and took a deep breath, trying to maintain her composure. As she pushed the door open - surprisingly without the need for her security card - her ears were immediately assailed with a buzzing far louder than that coming from her guide.

The room was hexagon shaped and cramped. The concrete walls and stainless steel furnishings made it look more like a prison cell than anything else. A metal bed topped with a thin mattress and sheets sat against one side, while a toilet and sink were attached to the opposite wall. The rest of the room was populated by shelves with a handful of books, toys and other knick-knacks scattered about. In the very center of the room stood the source of the god-awful, incessant buzzing noise. Typhus was at least a head shorter than Thorne and dressed in a ragged, hooded robe. Beneath her hood, what little of the girl'ss face could be seen was wrapped entirely in dirty bandages that seemed to shift and rustle every now and again. Holding herself upright with an enormous, rusted and grime-encrusted scythe, Thorne almost wanted to call her the littlest Grim Reaper.
>>
>>29994866

B-but anon I think that's cute. If any of my prior relationships have taught me anything the crazy chicks will really get your blood flowing for multiple reasons.
>>
Typhus was the most recent of the Maerorus Project's victims behind Valnikov. She was more powerful than any of them by far - almost incomparably so - but the procedures had left her body feeble and sickly. The Doctor, as any who had worked for her knew, had very little tolerance for flaws. Because of her physical condition, Typhus had been cast away and nearly forgotten in the dungeon-like depths of the building. Thorne couldn't imagine the girl was any older than fourteen, but where she came from and how the Doctor had come upon her was anyone's guess.

The smaller girl took a timid step forward as Thorne shut the door behind her.

"Sissster?" She asked, her voice strained and raspy, sounding like a much younger, more feminine version of the guard who had brought Thorne down.

"H-hello, Typhus," Thorne answered, trying her best to look friendly.

The little hooded figure took another step toward the security officer before erupting into a fit of violent coughing that would rival a chain-smoker. Thorne took the smaller girl's hand - pale and surprisingly dainty - and led her over to the bed, sitting them both down beside each other.

"E-excussse usss," Typhus muttered, letting out several more coughs. "Now... wherrre hasss Motherrr gone? Ourrr doorrr wasss unlocked today. Motherrr sssaid it shhhouldn't be unlocked unlessssss it'sss... an emergencccy."

Thorne held the girl's hand, stroking it with her thumb like a mother and child. "She, erm, left the city, Typhus," the black-haired girl answered. "She's gone far away now."

The tiny reaper stared up at her 'older sister', bright crimson eyes shimmering with a child-like innocence. "Whyyy... hasss she gooone?"

"She, um," the security officer thought for a moment, not entirely sure of how to proceed. "Some, uh, some bad people took away her job. And they wanted to take away her company and her money, too. So- So instead of letting them do that, she let all of her experiments out so they could live in the city."
>>
"Whyyy... diddd the peopllle do thattt to Motherrr?" Typhus asked, still starring up at her 'older sister'. "Whyy diddd theyyy want to steeeal from herrr?"

"Be- Because they didn't like what she was doing, Typhus. They didn't want her to keep doing... things to girls. Li-like she, um, did to you," Thorne hesitated, then added, "or me."

The young Maerorus was silent for some time, her gaze falling to the floor as she let out a muffled sniffle.

"Beforrre she... leffft," the hooded girl muttered, staring at the floor, "sheee came to visssit usss. She... tooold usss that she lovesss usss... She sssaid thaaat we werrre alwaysss herrr favourrrite..."

Thorne smiled gently, before wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulders and resting her cheek on her head. Somehow, the sensation of squirming and writhing under Typhus' robe didn't bother her nearly as much as she expected.

"I'm... I'm sure you were," Thorne cooed softly, rubbing the girls' shoulder. "She was so excited after the procedures were finished..."

She remembered the event so vividly. The Doctor had gathered nearly every one of Horzine's science personnel to witness the birth of her most perfect creation - which made it all the more disappointing when the girl could barely stand on her own, never mind handle a close-quarters fight.

"Whattt... nnnow, sissster?" Typhus asked. "Do wwwe... finnnd Motherrr?"

"N-No, we need to, um," Thorne stammered as she tried to figure out an excuse. "We need to look after the city for the Do- for Mother! We have to gather supplies and- and- and make a plan!"

The small girl nodded. "Ifff... Ifff we takkke caaare of the cccity... Willll Motherrr returrrn?"

"I- Maybe? Maybe... she'll come back if you're good."

"Th-thennn... weee shalll be gooood," Typhus answered, nodding. Thorne couldn't help but smile after seeing the look of sincerity in her eyes.

Just saying, if you want this relationship to have any chance of turning out anything approaching right, you're gonna have to go in with both eyes open, all guns drawn and screaming "IMMMMMAMUUUURDERYOOOOOOOOUUUUUUBIIIIITTTTTCCCCHHHHH!1oneone!!"

"Good. Now get some rest, you," the security officer muttered, giving the girl's head a good pat. "I'll go find what we need. Can your, erm, men help me secure the building?"

Typhus nodded vigorously - or as much as she could in her condition. "Theyyy willll fffollow orrrdersss anddd keep you sssafe."

"Great. I'll be sure to look for a nicer room for you, too," Thorne said as she took a glance around the prison cell of a room. "I'll be back later. Take care, sis."

Making her way to the door, Thorne couldn't help but smile as she looked back and watched the tiny reaper tuck herself in. Somehow, despite everything, she felt as though things would start to get better. She had finally caught the lucky break that had eluded her for all twenty-one years of her life. It would take a lot of work and a lot of patience, but for the first time, Eliza Thorne had a home and a small, loving family.

[And that's it! This is the first of a new series that I've been working on for a few months now as a bit of a pet project. Since it won't be tying into the events of Prose Magica (aside from a certain predictable mini-arc) I figured it deserves its own title. Kingdom of Flies will be a lot more episodic and disconnected, so each mini-arc will have its own title, with the odd one-shot here and there. I hope you enjoy it!]

Fire. Fire and smoke, all around you. The light seemingly strobing in and out, with brightness flooding your vision every few seconds. You close your eyes, trying to shut out the visual confusion, but it only makes the piercing ringing in your ears worse. After about fifteen seconds, the ringing starts to fade, but just subsides into a blaring siren. Your head is killing you, and you gingerly reach up to touch your temple, and your hand comes away wet and sticky. You open your eyes, trying to make sense of the scene in front of you. You're inside the cabin of an airplane, spinning rapidly, the strobing coming from the windows as the cabin rotates through the sunlight. There is a fire further up in the cabin, and the smoke is rapidly filling the cabin. You try to struggle free of your seatbelt, but it's wrapped around you tightly. You scream for help, but the woman to your right is seemingly unconscious, or worse.

The fire is slowly creeping upwards through the cabin, and there's a horrible, metallic rending noise as one of the wings shears away from the plane's hull, spinning off through the air. It's at this point that the emergency oxygen masks deploy from the ceiling, dropping down, but falling out of reach as the cabin rolls upside-down once again. Your arms, however, are too short to reach the mask on your own anyway, but it doesn't look like many other people are reaching for them either, whether they're unconscious, dead, or merely too shocked to think straight, you don't know.

> I'm sure anon will try anyway
that I'm also sure and it's fine that you disagree about it working, I just said that you agreed that at least Chiaki have bether intentions
>>
You try once more to untangle yourself from the webbing of your seatbelt, but only succeed in tightening the restraint around yourself, dangerously so. As you begin to lose consciousness due to a combination of the tightness of your seatbelt and the smoke in the cabin, you see a strange, grey cat walking down the centre aisle of the cabin, seemingly ignoring the effects of the cabin's rotation, and gravity. The creature stops outside your row, and looks directly into your eyes as you struggle with your seatbelt. Its mouth doesn't move as it asks you a single question:

"Would you like to live?"
>>
Your eyes fly open, you let out a ragged, hurried breath, and you release your white-knuckle grip on the arms of your chair as the back wheels of the plane hit the ground with a solid, resounding “thud”. Your name is Kaitlyn Kilburn, and you are deathly afraid of riding in planes. You’re also a magical girl, although you’re not completely convinced that would save you from slamming into the ground inside of a metal coffin at 400 miles-per-hour. At least, not again.

As the plane begins its slow taxi to the gate and people around you begin to undo their seatbelts in order to mill around and get their luggage, you take the small, crumpled sheet of paper from the pocket of your shorts and re-read it once more. You frown; the contents haven't changed since the last time you read it. There will be a contact waiting for you once you get past security. It doesn't mention anything other than that. No description, no name, nothing. And just when you were starting to look forward to being able to finally work alone again, too.

You groan and stretch your arms and legs, before stuffing the piece of paper back into your shorts. As the plane finally arrives at the gate, you let the majority of the plane's passengers filter out before grabbing your backpack from underneath the seat in front of you and moving from the plane's cabin into the airport terminal proper. While you may hate riding in airplanes, you love walking through airports. All the people, going about their business, it's lifting to see people just living their lives.

You take your time walking through the terminal, and as you step through the final exit of the terminal to the passenger pick-up zone, you lazily take a bite out of your airport cinnamon roll. Scanning the crowd of people waiting for family, friends, and clients, you easily spot who you think your "contact" is. She's standing alone in a small void of people, with a gap of about a yard between her and the nearest people. She's short, Asian -- Japanese, probably, and wearing a strange, black, sleeveless hoodie and holding a small sign that reads "Kilburn". You hitch your bag up on your shoulder and toss your cinnamon roll into the nearest trashcan before making your way over to the girl, stopping just in front her.

"K-Kaitlyn Kilburn?" She manages to stutter out. It seems she's not necessarily the bravest apple in the basket, but you can deal with that. As long as she doesn't run away from a fight, like the last useless piece-of-shit partner you were assigned, back in Europe.

"Yeah, that's me." I pulled out the piece of paper from my pocket, and handed it to her. "Are you my 'contact'? Since they so graciously decided to give me next-to-no details about what the Hell I'm supposed to be doing back here in the U.S.? I was in the middle of a witch hunt in Spain when I got a message telling me to go straight to the airport, saying there was a flight I needed to catch, and I ain't one to argue with the higher-ups."

"N-no, I don't know anything about what they want you to do here. I would assume the same things you were doing over there... I just requested a partner, and then they told me to show up here at the airport..." She shakes her head and wrings her hands, like she doesn't know what to say, before finally managing to spit something else out. "I'm Kotarou Yuu! I'm sorry if I've caused you trouble!"
>>
...Jesus, you guess it really is true what they say about those Jap girls, polite to a fault, and all that. You pause for a second before shaking your head.

"Nah, you haven't caused any trouble, I'm glad to be home, spent too much time overseas lately. Speakin' of which, you aren't from around these parts, are you?" You gesture to the void of people around her.

"Is it really that obvious...?" She says, blushing.

"The first thing we're going to have to do with you is go out and get you some decent clothes, so you aren't running around in your magical girl outfit all the time, no offence, but you stick out like a sore thumb." You wave your hand at the people around you, some of whom are beginning to stare. "But for now, let's just start moving. I, for one, am starving."
>>
Roughly two hours later, after a fight with a rental car clerk and some tense highway driving into the city to get Yuu some clothes that didn't look like they were out of a third-rate shounen anime; you and Yuu are sitting in a small burger joint eating breakfast. The only clothes she wanted to buy were too-big hoodies and track shorts, so she has to keep rolling her sleeves back up. ...It's kind of cute, actually.

"So what are you doin' in the States, anyway? You're obviously foreign. You get sent over here for some kinda' secret mission or something?" You waggle your fork in the air, before spearing a pancake and shoving a piece of it into your mouth, deliciously moist and buttery after a 6 hour overnight flight's pre-packaged food.

"Not exactly..." Yuu murmurs, before speaking up a little bit. "I'm travelling all around the world, actually! I want to fight the strongest people wherever I go, and become strong enough to make my master proud!" Her eyes shine here, like a little kid talking about becoming the president, or an astronaut.

"So... You're doin' the Ryu thing? Like, from Street Fighter?" You flag down the waitress to refill your drink, before letting her continue.

"Huh? I'm sorry, Kilburn-san, I don't know what those are! I'm sure that you're right, though!" She looks into her drink, embarrassed, and you laugh.
>>
"Don't worry about it! That's cool, whatever you gotta' do, right?" Again, you beckon to the waitress, asking for your check, this time. "So how long have you been in the U.S., and uh, when is your next fight?" Her eyes light up, and when she starts to speak again, she seems like she's filled with energy.

"Actually, Kilburn-san, I have a fight scheduled for later today!" She looks at a clock on the wall, here. "In about an hour, actually! It's with a magical girl from the Eighth Officio who's here on the East Coast for a mission! I always try to catch them when they come out here, as it's not very often! It's pretty close by too, we were supposed to meet at an old junkyard outside the city, near the airport, actually!" You stand up here, already moving towards the door of the diner.

"Then we should probably get moving, yeah?"

Sitting on top of a pile of old cars, wiping the sweat from the southern sun off your forehead, you check your phone for the time: 15 after the hour. Looking over at Yuu, you'd think she was in her own personal heaven. Standing in the middle of a dusty lot, transformed, swinging her fists around, practicing different moves and styles. It was pretty impressive, really. Just as you're about to call out to Yuu that maybe, just maybe this girl isn't going to show up, a silhouette appears in the gateway to the small junkyard.

"Oi, you Yuu Kotarou? Didn't you want to fight or something?" She practically strolls her way into the middle of the lot, standing across the centre from Yuu, obviously not taking the challenge seriously. Putting on a smug grin, she shrugs. "Are you even going to draw your weapon?"

"Thank you for coming! Yes! I'm Kotarou Yuu, fifteen years old!" She puts on a wide smile and bows deeply, before straightening. "And I don't need any weapon, I have these!" Yuu raises her fists into the air in front of her and throws a few mock jabs before throwing a question right back at the challenger. "And how about you? What's your name?"
>>
"Huh? Well, my name's Sabrina Cosworth, uh, seventeen years old?" The opposing magical girl, Sabrina, seems caught off guard by Yuu's unexpected friendliness, but she manages to regain her composure before continuing. "Well, I'd heard a couple other girls talking about you back in Santa Destroy I had thought you might be a challenge, but then I show up and you're a preschooler? I guess I expected too much! Any girl worth her salt in Destroy should have eaten someone like you for breakfast." The girl transforms here, her costume a short black dinner dress with an overabundance of ribbons and black-and-purple stockings, and draws her weapon, a double-ended spear. She spins it around her head a couple times before noticing you, and jerking a thumb in your direction. "What about her? Your friend just going to watch, or what?"

"I'm just here for the good show, don't you worry your little head about it." You wink at the girl.

"Fuckin' weirdo." You hear the girl mutter under her breath. "Whatever. Let's just get this shit over with." Yuu nods and the two girls begin circling each other, examining each other's defenses for the perfect time to strike. After about 45 seconds, even though your Vindicare eyes don't notice anything, the girl with the spear charges at Yuu, going straight for stab into her midriff. Yuu lets the girl get close to connecting with the stab before sidestepping almost faster than you could follow, and then launching her own brutal attack into the now defenseless Sabrina. Yuu does something you can't exactly make out, moving too fast for you to follow. From the sound of it, it was rather painful, and whatever it was, it was enough to send Sabrina flying through the air, hurtling through a stack of old tires and slamming into a pile of rusting cars on the other side powerful enough to leave a rather large dent in the door of one of them.
>>
"Damn! That fuckin' hurt, you're stronger than you look." Says Sabrina as she stands up, rubbing her jaw. "Don't get cocky, though, this fight is far from over!" She charges at Yuu again, with seemingly the exact same maneuver as before. Yuu goes on the defensive, attempting to sidestep the blow again the same way, but this time Sabrina was ready for her dodge. She does some kind of... spin move, bringing the other end of the spear around so fast it cracks like a whip and slams into Yuu, who gasps as the breath is knocked out of her. Sabrina jerks the spear back, and catches Yuu's costume on the end of it, keeping her trapped.

"Nice try, Yuu, but I've got you no-" She's interrupted as Yuu does a spin similar to her own, ripping the spear clean out of her grip. Yuu keeps spinning, though, and slams her elbow into Sabrina with an audible crunch of ribs cracking. Taking a few steps back, it looks like Yuu rips the spear out of her costume - making you wince at the sound of cloth tearing - before digging the soles of her feet deep into the ground and rushing at Sabrina, who regains her composure just in time to see Yuu coming at her. Even from this distance, you can see the fear and panic in Sabrina's eyes as she tries to summon another spear to pike Yuu with, but it just simply isn't happening. Yuu's on top of her before she can even react. Yuu's a blur, moving faster than you can comprehend as she rockets towards Sabrina. As she comes into contact with Sabrina, her fists turn into a mass of grey, with Sabrina wincing at every impact, doubling over when Yuu's assault relents.
>>
It isn't over though, as Yuu digs her feet in again, but this time she launches upwards and into Sabrina. Her extended right fist catches Sabrina in the jaw, carrying her upwards with Yuu's momentum. The pair continue into the air for almost two yards before they come crashing back down to Earth. Sabrina on her ass, and Yuu landing gracefully on her feet. Sabrina merely lays on the ground, moaning and rolling a little bit, before Yuu drops her guard and speaks.

"A-Are you alright, Cosworth-san? I can contact someone if you feel as though that would be beneficial to yo-" Yuu seems honestly worried about her opponent, but Sabrina interrupts her.

"No, God dammit! I'm fine, I'm fine, but I concede the fight, you win." She rolls over onto her stomach and lifts herself out of the dirt, coughing up a few specks of blood.

"Wow! You moved so fast, a-and your spearwork was incredible! That was fantastic! Thank you so much for the match!" Yuu says, again bowing deeply, before straightening and extending her hand to her fallen opponent. Sabrina still seems shocked from the fight and weakly grabs Yuu's hand, grunting as she's hauled to her feet. "Thank you again! It was very enjoyable!"
>>
"Eh, I guess it was alright, nothin' special..." She coughs into her elbow before transforming back into her normal outfit. "I guess I can see why those girls back in California talk like you're so much hot shit, 'cause you are, haha-!" She interrupts herself, bending over to cough, before standing back up. "Sorry about that, you just hit me a little harder than I was expecting!" She grins and shakes Yuu's hand. "If you're ever in California, come find me, I'll want a rematch!" She shakes her head and retreats from the impromptu arena, exiting the same way she came in.

"I guess I'd say she's more like a Ken." You whisper to yourself, before turning to look at Yuu, whistling and grinning. "I'd give that fight a six out of ten, but mostly for the way you crushed that ego she had when she came in." You hop down from the pile of cars and junk you had been sitting on and walk over to Yuu, greeting her with a heavy slap on the back. "You know, Yuu, I think I'm going to enjoy my time with you after all."

[And that's it! I apologize for any flaws or anything that it may have had, first tries are never perfect! I hope you enjoyed it!]

It was pretty good, but second person is really obnoxious to read unless it's a quest or CYOA. Would have been better in first if you want the character's inner-thoughts.
>>
>>29995212
The story and MC seem fine, writing could be improved though. In addition to the second person stuff, the fights are described very clinically and it makes them kind of boring to read.

>The citizens would answer for what they allowed to pass.
That's sort of a mean call to make there isn't it. It's not like any citizen can do jack shit against a meguca-funded, meguca-backed organization that's basically built on enforcing it's will over everyone else. I can bet there's a whole library of books to be filled on the tragic stories of those who tried to prevent this from happening.
