As Ned Salter, we are in the entertainment business, and with our fighters entering the Omega League, our videogame project well underway, and our first music project already beginning to be recorded, business is good.

Billions are moved every weekend as they tune in to the XWF, the Extreme Warfare Federation, to see superhuman fighters beat the daylights out of eachother in the most popular pay-per-view in the history of mankind, and we are right in the middle of it!

*******
Let me know as you guys arrive
>>
>>29990630
'Morning.
>>
>>29990939
Howdy
Waiting for the others. Was it you that asked for the google spreadsheet? if so, address is in the email field

Also just a few minutes ago, I thought that maybe instead of getting people used to working with super models, (i know how this is going to sound, but think about it) maybe we should get people from the porn industry.

Think about it. I believe it is perfectly possible to work at something you dont like and still be good at your job. You still need sound technicians, cameramen, etc. While fashion just needs photographers and light specialists.

Of course, we may instead try to get people from the music industry that are also used to working with novas. There has to be some, right?
>>
>>29991043
Actually it was, I just haven't gotten around to creating a GoogleID so I can send the request.
>>
>>29991202
Oh alright. Well, the guys are a bit late today, it seems. I guess I'll go prepare myself a tea while waiting
>>
>>29991043
Didn't I suggest getting Aritsu to look into recruiting people from soft core porn productions two threads ago? I figured it be the easiest route to go as long as we didn't mention anything about it to Mako in the first few weeks.
>>
>>29991602
>>29991043

I'm sorry... What's this in aid of?
>>
>>29991602
I doubt she knows what porn is. Also, was thinking about her sheet. On the one side, I was thinking into taking a flaw that gives her large combat penalties but a lot of points for merits. I cant remember right this second, but it basically raised her panelties from wounds, since supposedly she is so very sensitive that all sensations (pain, pleasure, etc) affect her so much harder. But it feels like I'm minmaxing since she's not meant to be a combat character.

Then again it just feels like it fits her pretty well, you know?

>>29991724
Ah, we were talking about how do we get people to work around the band without minding Bella's tendency to strip, and Stella's zero common sense towards nudity. Is not that she strips too, is just that she doesn't care
>>
>>29991799
Oh, did you ever settle on that new fighting style for Aura? And how much time does the music group have before their songs are due? I kind of feel like sending Stella and Belle to the jungle - chaperoned so they don't get distracted - so Stella can show off her inspiration and they can get a little closer to being on the same page. I think their dialogue indicated a complete difference in theme between the two last time we saw them, despite the fact that they had planned to collaborate for their songs. Just a thought anyway.
>>
>>29991882
As much time as you want to give them since you are their producer, basically. Don't give them too much, tho, or they will start scrapping and redoing the songs over and over looking for the best ones. Trust me on that

And yeah, they have similar ideas, but maybe its because they are similar that its hard to get along for working. Rather than compliment eachother, they try to steal the spotlight from eachother
>>
>>29991799

Speaking as somebody who's done crew work in the past, I can safely say that nothing will phase most roadies or techies; They've seen it all already. So no worries on that score.
>>
>>29991920
Give them a staggered schedule. A few songs due at first, then more later
>>
>>29991996
ah, that's nice to know. Voice of experience and all that?

>>29992018
Sounds good

So what do you think of giving the "sensitive" flaw to Mako?
>>
>>29992032

No problem with 'Sensitive' for Mako, but I am aware we've not nailed down XP expenditures for our fighters.

Pretty sure I've asked this already, but I'm still in favour of some kind of "soak the unsoakable" power for Brass, basically allowing him to 'no-sell' anything from Quantum Weapons up to molecular disintegration
>>
>>29992156
Uhmm... all I can think of is forcefield since it can soak all types of damage. I havent seen anything that is "can soak unsoakable damage", ever. Maybe regeneration?

And IIRC, wasnt Aura on 65 exp (since we havent spent her exp, yet. I havent bought her martial arts yet, for example), Python on 15, Brass on 20, Eldric on 20, and Okaba on 20?
>>
>>29992422
Sounds about right to me. I think we spent Ned's XP right before we started getting the band together. So he has whatever he's earned since then.
>>
>>29992478
That's right, Ned earns XP through business deals and the like, not just siphoning XP from the fighters when they win.
>>
>>29992478
Well, I dont remember how we did it before, but since he's "our character" I think he should earn exp per game, with a bonus when he does great business deals (say, over 5 successes) in the form iof 1 exp each with a -5 penalty for that day (minimum of 0 per session) if he blunders it. But honestly I still havent seen anyone blunder a roll.

You know, fail every dice AND get a 1 on one or more dice

So since this is thread 19, let's say he has 38 exp + 12 from the many deals he made in japan.

Want to try breaking more deals? remember +1 exp on every deal he gets 5+ successes, and -5 if he gets a blunder.
>>
>>29992527
The big deal I want to do is the Qui Meng meeting. With us, Quantum industries, The XWF doctor, Python and Lynn. Also, piece of advice, we should probably save discussion of stuff like this until after the run. Our story post to banter ratio is really low.
>>
>>29992527
Hmm, the only business things I can think of off hand are doing an Aura line of clothing (evening wear and lingerie) and get our gold fighters each indifvidual lines of sportswear (we may already have don't these things). Oh, and negotiating with the Japanese fighters we faced (and I suppose the rest of their league) for inclusion and content rights of a DLC expansion pack of our game, but the negociations should probably wait until we have a solid build of the game to play or the product's been release so we can show them the sales figures. Beyond that I have a few other ideas (fragrances mainly) but I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel.
>>
>>29992590
I think we should finish taking down bomber lord first. The Teragen is gonna be against is at that point so why not? starting Qui Meng dojo franchises would help Novas across the world VASTLY.

So, what do you wanna do? finish talking with Stella and Bella, get them a crew, then go for a movie with Mako, and then move fast forwards a bit to the beginning of the season? Or what are your thoughts?
>>
>>29992676
Those all sound pretty good.
Roll 13d10 + 3d10 for each deal
Aura (3 deals) Underwear, sports, evening wear (not sure what that means, honestly)

Okaba (2 deals) sports and gentleman's wear. Maybe appeal to the african american gentleman of good taste?

Eldric (2 deals) sportswear and probably something like jeans and/or clothes for the american blue collar worker? like safety shoes for construction workers and such

Ami (? deals) Are we exploring underwear with her this new season? renewing making new deals for sportswear, I guess?

Python and Brass - Same
>>
>>29992682
>Finish talking with Stella and Belle
>Movie with Mako
>Check in with Aritsu to see if anything's come up (and to be handed the crazy russian's hotel bill)
Oh, speaking of the crazy Russian whose name I would only butcher by trying to spell, we should figure out wether she's willingness to do endorsements at all and if so figure out wheat she prefers to dring and what kind of amps she uses. Just reinforce her image with whatever marketing we do, and make she is incapable of being killed by her habits.

Rolling Aura evening wear I guess.
>>
>>29992767
Euphry? As long as its not modelling police uniforms, I dont really see an issue. Let me think.... underwear... sure, musical instruments and accesories, sure, cars, probably, bikes, sure... I cant really see any reason for her not agreeing to making money as long as it isint doing "sign for the army" posters
>>
>>29992785
wow, almost our first blunder. 2 successes. Its an okay deal but nothing to write home about. Neither exp penalty nor bonus

Aura evening wear line - "It's okay", say critics
>>
>>29992791
want me to roll some dice for those?

I think sports bras are as close as we're getting Ami to an underwear line anytime soon, though we could tease her about doing more (swimsuits) depending on her reaction.

>rolling aura underwear
>>
>>29992806
Three successes? Yeah, nix the deal. And I think I'm done rolling for now.
>>
>>29992815
four actually
>>29992682
So Mako movie time now?
>>
>>29992682
Oh, forgot to mention I figure that Bomber Lord will probably try to visit us at some point, so you should probably write that up. We'll be smoking and watching our favorite short film when he walks in.
>>
>>29992803
yes please
>>29992806
So that roll is for sportswear for Ami? 4 successes. Nothing great but not bad either. Sadly is not good enough to get a exp bonus.
She probably does sneakers. Is not a bad deal, but it's nothing "great"

Want to get her a swimsuit deal? maybe surf suits (if you dont know what they look like, they tend to cover quite a lot) and boards?

>>
>>29992985
7 successes with 1 explodey dice. Theres no real need to roll the explosive dice since we got 5+ successes already so we got the exp bonus.

That's for gym clothes and accesories, I imagine? thighs, sports bra, handbags. Pretty good deal.

>>29992991
13 successes on surfer Ami. I guess she may actually do some (good taste) swimsuit models, then? bringing "health is beauty" into fashion, rather than appealing by just showing skin.

>>29992994
What's that second roll for? Im going to use it to start from the top, so it would be for Aura's underwear line. 12 successes is a lot of successes. Intimate/sexy underwear modeled by Aura being a huge success somehow seems "just right" doesn't it?

Alright lets see...

Aura
- Underwear 12 successes. Exp bonus +7 (since 7 successes over the 5 successes "trigger").
- Sportswear 7 successes. +2 exp bonus
- Evening Wear 4 successes. Neither bonus nor penalty

Ami
-Sportswear 4 successes- No exp bonus
-Surfwear/swimsuits 13 successes, +6 exp bonus.

Notice these are "how good is the deal?" rolls, not "how successful is the campaign" rolls. I should probably roll those later

Waiting on 2 rolls for Brass, Okaba, Python and Eldric, so 8 more rolls to go.

Okay, +59 total exp bonus from all the "new season" deals we got done. Okaba and Aura were the "top sellers" so to speak, Okaba with his gentleman's wardrobe line, and Aura with a fantasy lingerie line. I guess the show helped them a lot in that since they can show it so often.

To be sure this is clear. Its +59 total exp bonus from "new season" fashion and other advertisement campaigns in general.

If you can come up with other ideas for deals and such, let me know.

Anyway, that's it for Ned's "bonus" exp for the new semester. At least until the videogame and the band start rolling and we get sponsorship, advertising and such for those.

We need to get a coffee jingle deal for the band... It was Flux Revolver, right? Sorry I forgot

Moving to Mako now, I think?
>>
>>29994192
Heh, actually, we could probably set Aritsu up for a coffee endorsement if we tried: highly professional and efficient secretary maintains her good humor and is rejuvenated by her morning cup of coffee. It's crunch time, nothing has your back when your up against the wall lice a soothing cup of caffeine. There's so much material to mine there, plus Ari deserves any bonus we can throw her way at this point.
>>
>>29994192
>moving to Mako now?
Sure, as long as you queue an action for us to solve their problem (uncomfortable crew) at some point.
>>
>>29994316
Uhmm... I dont think she would agree to it if it would cause her to be away from her sister.

Anyway, moving on...
*******

You call Mako to let her know you are arriving soon, and the clerk at the apartment's lobby gives you a digital pass for the elevator and her door.

The apartment is quite nice, but it is not luxurious by any means. She welcomes you happily and invites you in.

She is wearing a long, soft and light dress with spaghetti straps and a fluffy, tall neck white shirt that matches it.

Mako: "M-mister Salter, thankyou... for coming. Please come in" -she says, and offers you a pair of fresh sandals to change from your street shoes

The light dress falls gracefully on her figure. The black-haired beauty dresses quite conservatively still, despite having gone out shopping with several new friends by now.

Ned: "Thank you for having me"

Mako: "H-havin y---" -she goes bright red and escapes discreetly into her apartment ahead of you- "Please seat anywhere you want"

Ned: "Thankyou, but you should say "sit", not seat" in this case."

Mako. "Thankyou for your guidance"

She calms down a little and pours you some tea as she sits in the couch across from you.

Ned: "Mako, you can't watch the television from over there." -you pat next to you on the couch

Mako: "Bu-but-..."

Ned: "Please sit with me"

Mako: "A-all right"

You watch some old shows on pay-per-view. Mostly -really- old shows you think she may like, such as The Little House on the Prairie and I Bewitched, commenting with her about words here and there, before moving to more modern shows.

******
Should we show her the reality show? it would be a bit of a shock, of course.
>>
>>29994515
We should offer a choice of several shows, including that one.
>>
>>29994515
>show her the reality show?
It might be better to warn her that it exists and that Aura likes teasing her flatmates and the viewers a bit, but let her actually stumble onto it in private unless she really wants to see it now.
>>
>>29994515
Our hands are going to accidentally brush while we're grabbing for the remote, aren't they? Ned is going to get increasingly confused by her culture shock, methinks.
>>
>>29994591
Then we should probably teach her how to use the tv guide and how to ask for a show on pay per view.
****

Ned: "Now, Mako, I have a surprise for you"

Mako: "What is it?"

Ned: "We have the holocomm ready for you to speak with the hildren back home in china. Its a little after lunch hour over there right now, so do you want to try it ou---!?"

She is so happy sheholds your hand and gives you a kiss on the cheek, before turning a red so bright you can easily see her blush through the soft dress.

Calming her down, you teach her how to use it, and leave her talking with her "little brothers and sisters" at the orphanage as you politely excuse yourself.

She gives you a small package of hand made cookies as thanks, and promises to work hard for you.

*********
It's night time by now. Do you wanna go home and stop for the day, or do something else? I think its a good place to stop. I actually have stuff I need to go do now
>>
>>29994769
If you've got stuff to do then yeah, let's call it for the day. I was going to suggest we go him and see what antics Aura was upto on her show before calling it a night, but we can skip that.

Take it easy King.
