Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.

YOU ARE LOLI,

You're currently chasing after Doggy, who is eagerly leading you away from your camp and allies in order to show you something he considers very important. Obviously you have no idea what, but you're certain it's worth finding out about as soon as possible. You ignore the cries behind you to wait and simply run after him as he bounds down the road. He finally comes to a stop just after you round a corner, pointing eagerly at a small compound across a small bridge from you. From your position on the road, just on the brink of a hill, you have a good view of the buildings and their surroundings.

A short way ahead, the bridge crosses one of the dried river estuaries, with the road then splitting to either side of the collection of buildings surrounded by a wire fence. The closest to you is little more than a tin roof supported by metal poles, offering some rain protection to the huge pile of tree trunks stacked ready for cutting. Next to that is a small skeleton of something that may have once-upon-a-time been a two-story... something, while behind the two is a larger industrial-looking building made of brick. A little ways from them is a tall brick tower with a large pipeline leading away from it.

To the right of the buildings is a deep gully with a house next to a small roundabout. It's clearly a separate entity to the rest of the structures, but is still inside the wire fencing.

As you stand, taking in the sight, your eye is drawn to movement: both inside and out the compound. Just inside the tin roof area, you can see several figures shambling their way about with no obvious intent, while outside, down the road to the left, you can see quite a few figures making a stealthy approach along the main road.

Even from this distance, you can make out the outline of full-length duster jackets that you've by now come to associate with bandits and other ne'er-do-wells.

Thinking logically about it, Doggy wants to show you something important. This 'something' just happens to be somewhere in the vicinity of a building that is currently the target of a bandit raid against an unknown, but probably not-very-friendly group of other people...

It's clearly a race to the prize! Your adventurous streak gets the better of you, and you take off headlong down the hill towards the bridge, just as Kris comes huffing into sight along the road behind you. As always, Doggy instantly matches your pace and falls in at your heel.

You keep pace with your pack leader as she sprints up the slope on the other side of the metal ground. You can tell by the smell of excitement that she can see the thing you wanted to show her now! You're just a little hesitant about the inhabitant, but with both you and your packmates, they'll be short work.

That being said, they're being very slow. They'd almost caught up to you before the metal ground, but then they stopped on the hill. You'll just have to make do.

When you reach the woven barrier, Alpha stops and you can tell she's quickly scanning it for a way through. You've already been here before, so you know there's a gap you can fit through a little way down the way to the left. Alternatively, you can see a little patch of loose earth near her feet that you could easily rip your way through in seconds.
Or you can trust in Alpha. She's never let you down before.

As Alpha stands, staring irately at the barrier, you resolve to be helpful. You nudge her hand to get her attention, then nod your head in the direction of the hole you came in by last time. She follows your gaze, then sets off along the barrier. After a few short moments, you come to the hole. She makes a quiet squeal, running her paw down your head and ruffling your mane before dropping down and sliding herself through the hole.

As you make to follow her in, a new scent catches your attention. It's one you don't recognize from your last visit, the smell of man. They're closing quickly from the South. They don't smell like the young, clean type that occasionally help your pack. These smell like prey to you.

Alpha doesn't seem to have made any move to react to the newcomers. You don't know if she's picked up their scent or not yet. You do often have the best nose of your entire pack, after all.

>>29996423
The smell of blood that does not match their sweat now reaches you, almost overpowered by the initial overwhelming stench of that poison water they seem so fond of drinking. These are definitely not a friendly pack.

You give a low growl, and Alpha lowers her stance, stealing a glance in your direction to follow your gaze.
She immediately switches direction, pressing herself against the fallen forest, before glancing around and over the trees. She looks back once more at you, an irritated look on her face, whispering something authoritative at you before slipping around the corner out of your sight.

You can hear the slow shambling of the residents stirring to your right. This is not good. If something should kick off now, Alpha would be trapped between two herds. Even the best pack leader cannot take on that many without a full pack at her side.

[ ]Go after the scent.
[ ]Go for the residents.
[ ]Wait for Alpha to give some signal to follow.
[ ]Keep up with Alpha.

There's nothing else to be done. You can't let your Alpha take this prey alone. You back up and slip around the other side of the fallen forest, moving onto the flanks of the herd. You know these prey: their hearing is terrible and their sense of smell is non-existent, but their eyesight is fantastic. If they manage to spot you before you're in between them, they'll use their flame-breath to bring you down from a long way away.
You circle all the way around, keeping downwind of them simply to be able to keep track of them without having to see them. Flitting between the trees, you move all the way to the end of the barrier and up behind them. Here, you risk a look and sure enough, the prey is now within pouncing distance of you.

You jump up onto the tree next to you before leaping across the short distance onto your unlucky victim. As soon as you land atop him, however, you realize what Alpha was planning, and how you may have simply made the work harder for her. She's pressed down, nearly invisible against a pile of wood in the very center of the pack, obviously waiting for them to finish passing her. Which would've coincided with them reaching the spot you'd just left.
Instead, you've just leapt straight onto the rear man of their pack.
You'll remember to apologize, later. After you finish tearing through the throat of this blood-man. His scream is cut off with a gurgle as your tear through his windpipe, and his entire body goes limp. You're already tracking the next kill; you can feast later. You hear a BANG, followed by another panicked cry as Alpha joins in the hunt, leaping into action and bringing down one of the runts. You smell the terror rip its way through the pack. As you slip under the fire-stick of the next man, tackling him to the ground, the entire pack breaks and flees in all directions, each seeking cover and their own survival from your onslaught.

If it was just these few, this would have been the easiest hunt you'd experienced for as long as you can remember. However...
A rattling series of bangs from the other side tells you that the residents are finally aware of the trespassers in their territory, and aren't best pleased. Alpha chooses not to pursue, and instead dives back into the fallen forest.

You follow Alpha's lead and drop back into the trees. The pack stops fleeing a little distance away, running behind the big red man-den. You go to ground next to her, and try to follow her gaze as she looks in almost every direction, desperately trying to work out what her plan of action is. You're starting to think that maybe she actually doesn't have one when one of the residents shuffles around the corner as Alpha is looking the other way. The figure raises its fire-stick at her.
Without hesitation, you jump as the boom fills your world.

You continue to curse under your breath as you finally find a position and drop in next to a clump of earth and vegetation on the slope of the hill with a good overwatch of the entire area.
It was bad enough that you already had all the gear you usually have to haul about, but they went and left you there alone, pulling all the essential gear together to drag along as well. By this point, you won't even care if the little runt's bag gets stolen from the quick stash you set up before hoofing after them. Your own kit is in a somewhat more secure spot a little way behind you.

From here, you can just about make out the silhouette of Kris trying to clamber up the slope to the fence you saw Loli disappear through a few minutes ago. It was... actually quite creepy how she just seemed to decide that she wanted to be on the other side, and suddenly was rolling into cover.

A burst of static, and Kris chimes in on your earbud. "Alright, reaching the fence now. How the hell did she fit through this thing...?" You click the PTT wrapped around your palm twice, letting her know you received the comment. "Can you see her from there?" You hold down for a heartbeat to let her know that no, you can't see the brat. She nods her head, a gesture almost lost on you at this distance, before getting down on hands and knees and clawing her way through the small hole in the fence.

You can, however, see that mutant she calls a pet making its way around the edge of the stores cover area. Tracking that movement, you suppress the urge to drop a round into his big, stupid face and track up to his target, a group of bandits closing in quickly and efficiently in towards the main building.

[ ]Break silence, let Kris know they're there.
[ ]Keep steady, wait for a good shot to engage.

"Kris, heads up. Bad guys coming in, at least eight."

Kris' voice comes back, a note of controlled fear in her voice already. "What? Where from!?"

You try to keep your voice as calm as you can, you know it helps keep her positive. "South side, they're just passing th-" your report is cut short by the beast leaping over a pile of trees and falling onto the rearguard in a gratuitous cloud of blood. "Follow the screams."
You track your scope quickly back onto the center of the fight now, just in time to see Loli appear as if from nowhere, kicking the barrel of an AKM away from Doggy an swiping her survival knife across the bandit's eyes in the same motion. You again find yourself suppressing the urge to pull the trigger on the miniature monstrosity as she effortlessly brings down a man over twice her size, butchering him with a weapon that can barely even be called a weapon.

The brutal show is over quite quickly though, as the rest of the group break and flee towards the main building, and for some reason Loli doesn't make to follow them. It's then that you hear the sporadic reports of small-caliber pistols being fired from further North inside the compound, and both Loli and the dog make their own break for cover.

From here, you can see how badly they've just pinned themselves down by not moving to better positions before the full engagement started. The girl now has no angle of retreat, but is also outnumbered with no good cover to be able to fight through the front. Just as Loli turns her head away once more, looking towards the fence in desperation, the shambling living-corpse of a brain-fried loner shuffles around the tree she's in cover behind and raises a sawn-off shotgun at her head.

You've got barely a heartbeat to make all the adjustments. Range, elevation, windage, temperature, relative motion. No time to think them through, you react instinctively and simply pop the reticle up and squeeze. It feels like the longest half-second of your life as the bullet flies through the three-hundred yards to target, neatly separating the top of the ex-man's skull from the rest of his head. He falls to one side, squeezing the trigger as he does so and spraying his shotgun's load into the tin roof.

You breath a quick sigh of relief, before tracking to the next target, another zombified loner shuffling towards Loli, and proceed to blow a hole clean through his unarmored torso.

You thumb your PTT, "Kris, Loli is pinned in the storage area. Where are you?" A few moments of silence. "Kris? Kris, come in!"

A few rapid footsteps coming up from behind you alert you just in time to roll in place and pull your sidearm, the trusty SIG Sauer that your father had imported for you when you were born. Three more bandits are rushing down the hill towards your position, and in the corner of your eye you can see another few figures moving along the south road.

Well, that's just great.

You pull the trigger in a knee-jerk reaction, catching the first bandit in the chest and knocking him off balance as he rushes you. The second two drop to one knee, instantly zero'ing your location from the gunshot. At this moment, you realize that they were actually rushing *past* you, not at you. You quickly hurl your pistol to one side and raise both hands in the air. "I GIVE!" you scream, "I GIVE!"

The scumbag you first shot regains his balanced, apparently mostly unharmed by the round you dropped into his concealed body armor. "You give? Give me what?" When you don't answer, one of the others responds for you.
"Her virginity, hopefully." The first snickers as he walks up to you and puts a boot to your face.
