First thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29913775/
Twitter here:https://twitter.com/KaijuMagic

You are the Kaiju Crystorok, a crystalline squid with frightening Psychic abilities from somewhere among the stars. You have woken in the Antarctic and in your first few hours of conscience slaughtered over a hundred humans. Now their corpses digest in your body as you rest amongst their shattered structures.

It's been two days since then, and a blizzard has rolled in. The wind and cold don't bother you in the slightest as you rest, mulling over the new knowledge you've acquired from the humans. Your body has grown almost 10 meters in the past two days, but more importantly your mind has grown. Your "Seeing-Thoughts," the Psychic waves that you use to see the land around you extend further then before.

As the Blizzard begins to thin, your mind brings forth a familiar thought.

>Hunger.
>>
>Crystorok
>A Beast of the Cold Void
>Health: 100
>Mutation Points: 0
>Traits:
Regeneration 1: You regenerate 1 point of health while in combat.
Immune to cold based atacks
Many Legged:You move faster then normal and may climb cliffs and buildings with ease.
Crystalline Body: All physical attacks against you come at a -10 penalty.
Eyeless: You can not be blinded. You can see in all directions. Limited range.
Camouflage: You can blend into snowy, rocky or icy enviroments with ease.
Cold Aura:You deal 1 damage while inactive over time, or 3 damage a round while in battle.
Improved Mental Link: You may deal damage with your mind. You may attempt to extract specific memories, or plant suggestions into humans mind. You have complete dominance over lesser animals. You may also attempt to communicate with humans.

hmmmmm.... 'Omies, them's good eats!
>>
Off in the distance, you "see" a handful of humans, maybe two dozen or so approaching you through the howling winds and snow. They have no way of seeing you, but you are able to see them. All of them are carrying metal objects. You learned about them from the minds of the devoured humans. They are weapons.

You are still slightly sluggish from your rapid growth and the humans will be on you in about 5 minutes. What would you like to do?

If you wish to hide, please roll 1d100. I'll take the first three rolls and average it out for the final result.

Rolling humans spot checks
>>
Hide Check: 45

You send out Psychic thoughts to the approaching humans, and one of them drops to the ground, his weapon clattering into the snow, his hands gripping his head. He begins to shout, his voice carried on the wind to you.

"Drop your weapons! Drop your weapons! It'll kill us all if we don't!"

Two of the men stay behind with the ranting man. The rest spread out and continue their approach, their eyes straining to make out anything in the blizzard. They begin to pass directly around your form, their eyes scanning over your unnaturally still form and dismissing it as nothing more then a large hill or ice formation.

The humans are talking amongst each other, and you realize that with just a little concentration you can hear and understand what they're saying. The devoured humans must have allowed you to understand their language.

"Sarge, this place gives me the creeps."
"Stow it Private. We're just looking for survivors."
"But we haven't found any. Hell, we haven't even found bodies here, but the whole place is trashed."
"Jenkins, get to the front. You're on point. I don't need you going crazy like Adams just did."

The humans have nearly entirely passed you now.

Do we have vocal cords? If not, speak to them through the one who dropped his weapon, if we do, communicate.
>>

"Drop your weapons fleshlings. They are useless against my might, if you do not I shall consume you to the last."

You do not have vocal chords. You can attempt to communicate with humans with the improved mental link ability, though in the past that has caused a large amount of exploding heads and madness. You can also communicate through Adams, as he seems to be communicating your desires, though rather ineffectively.
>>
>>30001384
Whelp, since we've encountered military forces, lets bust out the Harbinger quotes, but hopefully with less brain popping, that seem to come from everywhere and nowhere before we omnonomnom them. Guy who dropped his weapon, he lives. Quotes to use off the top of my head:
“This is true power.”
“Face your annihilation.”
“You are shortsighted.”
“Irrelevant.”
“Pitiful.”
“These attacks are pointless.”
“You are vermin.”
"I will end you.”

>>
>>30001531
well, I wouldn't call him a prophet since I am disinclined to starting cults, but if we want to act a fighter from Primal, we can do that. You repeat your command, this time with more force. The humans all stagger as if pushed by a heavy force, and one of the humans, "Jenkins" has his head explode into gore. A few others actually drop their weapons, and you see one of them begging for his comrades to put their weapons down too.

Adams, the first to heed your warning acts differently though. While the two that were watching him stagger, he is apparently unaffected. He rises to his feet, a deadly gleam in his eye, and draws a long knife from his boot as he does so. In a heartbeat, the knife disappears into his comrades throat, and blood sprays over Adams. The other human starts screaming, and Adam lunges at him, the knife being driven into the second mans eye before he can even raise his weapon. The screams are swallowed by the blizzard, and no one notices when Adam begins to sprint at the rest of the humans, though only you are able to see him approaching through the snow.

Adams stops in his tracks and looks down at his hands. You can feel his mind panicking, trying to rationalize, and more importantly, to survive. After a moment, he turns and runs back to his murdered comrades and lies down among them.

The soldiers are beginning to recover from the mental shockwave. Some are urging others to drop their weapons, while others are arguing with each other over what caused this. Only the human called "Sarge" noticed Jenkins exploded head. He's standing over the privates corpse and staring at one of your tentacles rather hard.

You force your will onto Sarge. He staggers and his hands fly to his head as you deliver your demands to him.

>"Relinquish your thoughts to me. I will tolerate nothing less than total obedience."

And suddenly the humans mind begins spilling memories and images into your head, rapid fire.

>A briefing room filled with more soldiers, easily two hundred. A man with many awards and ribbons who the Sarge knows as "The Captain" is telling them of the sudden disappearance and final transmission of every human in Camp Charlie. They're priority is to find survivors and eliminate any hostile threat that presents itself."

>Another image, this one more recent. over a hundred soldiers disembarking from a massive aquatic machine called a ship, this one called the "USS HUSKY.." The memory reveals that it, as ell as more soldiers are nearby.

The man that "Sarge" called Smith runs up to him, and gags at the sight of Jenkins corpse. He looks from Sarge, to Jenkins Corpse and offers a long tube to the Sarge.

I'm not really familiar with anime besides NGE, so most of the monsters and robots wil be more western. Think Battle mechs, Pacific Rim style robots(This isn't a PacRim quest though). You ply your thralls brain for more information on the "USS HUSKY." It is a "Battleship" Able to throw kinetic, explosive weapons up to several miles. A quick flash of a crew roster that the man had glimpsed lists just under a thousand people on board, as well as four things called "Helicopters," a dozen things called "APCs" and 6 things called "Tanks." There also seems to be something called the "Siren Device TOP SECRET" on board.

Sarge turns to the "Smith."

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Worm?"

The man flinches and holds up the tubes.

"The maps, sarge. You.. You asked for them." The man named Smith looks uncertain, as if wondering if Sarge really asked for them.

Wait, have we ASSUMED DIRECT CONTROL already? That was quick. Use Sarge's knowledge to communicate that "the creature" has fled, and that we need to regroup at the HUSKY for heavier guns. The, while the humans head back, we sneak up and indoctrinate the ship.

You extend your will out to the glowing flares that mark the humans minds to you. Their minds panic briefly at the alien presence invading their thoughts before they are crushed beneath your will.

The pressure you have applied on so many minds leave them unable to act outside of your control. They stand around drooling or swaying gently, until you issue the command for them to begin heading towards the Husky, picking up weapons as they go.
>>
>>30003090

The dominated humans merge into a single file line and walk for about a mile, while you follow behind them. A few times you feel your psychic grip on them slip as they wander out of your range. You quickly realize that the range of your "Seeing-Thoughts" is roughly equivalent to the limit of your psychic control.

After a mile, the humans come across two squat vehicles, painted white in grey. Two humans emerge from the vehicles and approach "Sarge." You are still hidden by the blizzard, though it is beginning to falter now.

"What are you doing back so early? Is there anything out there?"

You burrow under the snow and ice following the APC's as the blizzard calms down. It's still cloudy, but visibility is greatly increased and the wind has slowed significantly.

The two APC's round a jagged chunk of ice and into a rapidly built military base. Large construction vehicles have cleared the area and set up massive walls of snow, topped with machine gun positions and barbed wire. White and green tents are set at frequent intervals. A vehicle depot holds 6 tanks, and you notice two more tanks entrenched along the snow berm. Soldiers scurry all about the place, and two helicopters buzz through the air. Beyond the base you see the Husky, a helicopter rising off of it and heading to the base. Further into the bay is another ship, much smaller but still imposing. A different flag flies from it's mast.

The Two APCs pull up to a white tent with a red cross on it and your thralls file out. You hear the following words through Sarges ears.

"Sergeant Holm, in light of recent hostilities, you and the men under your command are being held for a full psychological evaluation according to the guidelines set forth by Operation Blossom. You are not under arrest, but you will be held until such a time that it can be ascertained that you and your men are of sound mind."

Your thralls are led into a tent and one by one you feel them drop out of your control. You are confused at the cause of this, and try to figure out what's happening.

.Sergeant Holm is at the end of a long line of his troops. The man in front of him has rolled his sleeve up, and a medic inserts a long needle into the mans arm. The mans head lolls forward and is led out of the tent by another soldier.

Your tentacles reach out to the four men in the tank, but it seems that the metal impedes your ability to control the crew.

As the humans continue to be sedated, you feel fatigue settle over your brain. It makes you weary and tired, though you're safe beneath about a hundred feet of dirt and ice. Only two humans remain unsedated now: Adams and Sarge, although given another few seconds and they will be.

>Fatigue
>All rolls take a -10 penalty.

The sudden fatigue also causes you to shudder with hunger. It's been two days since you ate, growing the whole time and your body is demanding fuel. You feel it gnawing at you, demanding that you devour more of the delicious humans.

You burrow upwards, angling towards the tanks as you go. The earth rumbles as you approach, and you sense people stumble as you go. As you surface, you order your remaining thralls to use their weapon on everything but the other thralls.

You burst from the snow and ice, and your jagged hide slices straight through a tank, and sends the rest flying through the air. snow, rock, ice and tanks fall all about you and topple several of the tents and soldiers. After a moment of panic, Soldiers begin firing at you, their bullets harmlessly pinging off your icy crystals. One of the helicopters wheels past you and you smash it into the ground with one jagged tentacle.

>Base Health: 80/100

Your thralls open fire on the medics and they're cut down in a second. The two run out of the tent, rifles firing in quick, uncontrolled bursts whenever a human comes into view.

As you finish pulling yourself out of the ground, crushing an overturned tank with your bulk, a plume of fire flies from a metal weapon and smashes into a tentacle. Jagged chunks of crystal fly from the wound and you feel a new sensation: Pain. It stings, badly and you feel yourself grow enraged at the human. some 100 meters away, the two entrenched tanks swivel their turrets to you.

Your thralls begin to run for a smaller tent, with a large radio antenna and a generator next to it. Soldiers are all focused on you, and no one is guarding the tent. Adams sprints in, dropping his rifle as he goes and pulls the pin on four grenades. A moment later, the tent explodes, and the antenna topples over onto the ground.

You direct a psychic tentacle to one of the tanks and abruptly, the 4 flares of human mind in the tank go dark. The other tank manages to let out a round and the shell shatters against your hide before you can crush the minds of the crew in their tombs. Again you feel pain, unbearable pain. Your tentacles lash out all around you, sweeping entire groups of infantry from the ground and swallowing them into your tentacles. Two helicopters turn to face you as more humans begin to converge on you.

Still, you weren't fast enough to avoid all of them, and 2 missiles knock chunks of crystals off of you.

The helicopters above you begin to spew rockets at you, a veritable storm of fire and explosions. 8 of the missiles hit you, bursting into smoke and fire against your hide. Many more hit the tents and soldiers as you disappear under the ground.

Your remaining thrall continues to cause havoc, and rushes into an armory as he runs out of ammo. Grenades are flung out of the tent and explode amongst crowded groups of troops before anyone realizes there's a traitor amongst them.

You press too hard on the minds of the helicopter crew and the head of the pilots burst, painting the cockpits red with blood. The Helicopter swings from side to side a bit before plummeting to the ground and explodes, flinging shrapnel into the humans.

Your thrall opens fire on a group of soldiers, but they scatter and take cover. They return fire as Sarge sprints forward, and he falls to the ground riddled with bullets.

The other helicopter finishes firing missiles at you and swings around and begins to fly back to the ship. On the surface the humans begin to reload and regroup. Several throw grenades into the hole you had dug, but they detonate harmlessly and collapse the tunnel behind you. All the tanks have been destroyed or neutralized, and only one helicopter remains that you can see. Many of the tents have been destroyed where you had surfaced, as well as the communications tent.

Your immense intellect advises you that anything that can cause that much PAIN to you needs to be avoided, at least for now. You dive into the earth, flinging earth and snow into a geyser as you disappear deep into the earth, your tentacles flailing about as another round of shells churns the ground, shaking the earth.

You disappear beneath the earth just in time, as the earth above you continues to shake. There's a massive explosion above you as the missile hits the earth, and you feel the shockwave pass you as you continue to burrow into the earth. But finally you arrive at what you feel is a safe enough depth, and you contemplate your next move.

You are at least semi-victorious. Many of the humans are now digesting within your body, their thoughts and memories being absorbed into your hull. Your thralls are dead, although they proved a useful tool. Still, by showing weakness in the face of the Husky, you may invite future retaliation.

You could easily. It's only about 20 meters to the ocean, and you could burrow into the ocean easily.

You collapse the tunnel above you and burrow out of the way just to be sure. Only now is the pain from the battleships cannon wearing off. You wrap your tentacles in a protective shell around you and plan your next move as you digest the human remains.

>The Husky is a Clinton-class battleship built last year. It's armed with 6 18-inch cannons and a Cruise missile launcher, with 16 cruise missiles on board. It also has a bay for deploying depth charges, and has more then a hundred on board. But most interestingly is the experimental rail gun mounted on it, capable of launching shells up to 16 miles.

You wait for an hour, until the crystals that have been cracked and shattered across your form have been regrown and the pain has completely subsided. The bombardment ended after two or three minutes.

You begin to burrow through the earth in the direction of the ocean. It's not far, and the pointed crest of your head breaks through the earth. Cold sea water flows into your tunnel as you begin to swim. It's not difficult and even seems a bit instinctual to you.

You spread your tentacles and then bring them back together, propelling yourself quickly through the water. You're not very sleek, but you're large and powerful and can cover distance quickly.

The Husky has moved further from the shore and is about a mile out. There's no sign of the other ship. Night is quickly falling and it will be fully dark in less then ten minutes.

You move swiftly through the water, appearing as nothing more then a shadow or an iceberg were anyone to see you. You ascend as you get closer to the ship, creating a swell as you approach.

And then you're on the ship, tentacles gouging holes in the hull of the ship and sweeping sailors off the deck of the ship. With a mighty pull, you tear the missile launcher off it and send it flying into the water. The humans didn't stand a chance as water pours into the ship and it capsizes from the force of your body.

You disengage as the ship begins to sink, and focus instead on swiping humans with your tentacles, their bodies nourishing your own. You extend a tentacle into the hull of the ship, clearing entire rooms out with your tentacles.

Your hunger is sated, as is your wounded pride. The ship sinks to the bottom slowly, and you see the flare lights of the human mind slowly blink out.

I'll tally up the votes and see which(if any) mutation you guys pick. I'll also stick around to answer any questions about the quest, or about why I made certain decisions, or maybe about the encounter design if you guys are really interested.

Don't forget to Follow on Twitter for times on when the next quest will be, and if someone would archive it on SupTG that'd be great. I have one more post before the quest is officially over.

Mental link has failed us under pressure, so I think we should use it mostly as a head popper from now on. Questions:
1. What are the limits on Telekinesis
2. What are the limits on Intellect Shield
3. What's the limits on flying
>>
>>30009646
1. Can't pick up anything that weighs more 10 tons, or more then 3 objects at a time.
2. As long as you're concentrating, you can stop up to 50 points of damage in a 160 degree dome.
3. You must be concentrating to fly.

How many mutation points do we have currently? im kinda confused. i think we have 3 total. but i could be wrong.

Voting for at least Advanced Mental Link

>The Husky was sunk with all hands on board.

>You're sure?

>A spy plane captured the whole thing.

>So it is a Kaiju?

>It would appear so sir.

>God help us. And What about the Siren device?

>The Husky managed to deploy it in between attacks.

>Let's hope it works.

>We managed to get Gadara to follow it that far. I'm sure he'll continue following it.

>Our new friend is about to have a visitor.

>To be continued...

Gandara. Sounds like a Godzilla Gamera hybrid. Oh, that just doubles the fun. cue evil grin.
>>
>>30009730
There are upgrades to all three of the abilities as well.

You can only be knocked out of flying by something that breaks your concentration(Not likely) or by taking a hit strong enough to knock you out of the sky.

I feel like camoflauge and saving a point would be good, or telekinesis.

Regeneration
Hardened Shell

The more regen we have the more difficult we are to kill
>>
>>30009569
Regen and hardened shell.

If we keep pumping up our regen we can become unkillable because we will just regen damage as they deal it.

Intellect sheild should be our next mutation after these 2.

given that we're going to be combat oriented, If we're not taking intellect shield, I'd support Regeneration and Extra tentacles.

I just want to compliment you guys really quick. /tg/ always tends to go off the rails, and it's made me a lot better at improvising. Here's how I originally thought the quest was going to go:

>Wake up, mind control or dominate a few of the patrol, slaughter and eat rest.
>helicopter or survivor warns the rest of the base, airstrikes and rail gun attacks constantly harass you
>Base is on high alert, 8 tanks+4 helicopters and the ship pounding you with railgun shots.
>Finally decide to take out the ship first to get rid of the railgun and then terrorize and feast on the base at your leisure.

Obviously it didn't go that way, and I'm kind of glad that it didn't. I like having to improvise and make things up as I go. I understand that the ship was a bit of an anticlimax, but it was realy more of a support piece then an actual fight like the military base. It was also smart to emerge in the base rather then outside, so that the ship wouldn't fire on you for fear of friendly fire until it was too late.

Thanks for playing everyone! Hope you all enjoyed it. I'm thinking the next game will be saturday sometime. Follow me on twitter or check the QTG for any updates or changes.
