First thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29913775/Twitter here:https://twitter.com/KaijuMagicYou are the Kaiju Crystorok, a crystalline squid with frightening Psychic abilities from somewhere among the stars. You have woken in the Antarctic and in your first few hours of conscience slaughtered over a hundred humans. Now their corpses digest in your body as you rest amongst their shattered structures. It's been two days since then, and a blizzard has rolled in. The wind and cold don't bother you in the slightest as you rest, mulling over the new knowledge you've acquired from the humans. Your body has grown almost 10 meters in the past two days, but more importantly your mind has grown. Your "Seeing-Thoughts," the Psychic waves that you use to see the land around you extend further then before. As the Blizzard begins to thin, your mind brings forth a familiar thought. >Hunger.
>Crystorok>A Beast of the Cold Void>Health: 100>Mutation Points: 0>Traits: Regeneration 1: You regenerate 1 point of health while in combat.Immune to cold based atacksMany Legged:You move faster then normal and may climb cliffs and buildings with ease.Crystalline Body: All physical attacks against you come at a -10 penalty.Eyeless: You can not be blinded. You can see in all directions. Limited range.Camouflage: You can blend into snowy, rocky or icy enviroments with ease.Cold Aura:You deal 1 damage while inactive over time, or 3 damage a round while in battle. Improved Mental Link: You may deal damage with your mind. You may attempt to extract specific memories, or plant suggestions into humans mind. You have complete dominance over lesser animals. You may also attempt to communicate with humans.
>>30000553hmmmmm.... 'Omies, them's good eats!
Off in the distance, you "see" a handful of humans, maybe two dozen or so approaching you through the howling winds and snow. They have no way of seeing you, but you are able to see them. All of them are carrying metal objects. You learned about them from the minds of the devoured humans. They are weapons. You are still slightly sluggish from your rapid growth and the humans will be on you in about 5 minutes. What would you like to do?If you wish to hide, please roll 1d100. I'll take the first three rolls and average it out for the final result.
>>30000716Pull a Harbinger, order them to drop their weapons or die.
Rolled 49>>30000716Yay, I was worried I might miss this.
Sorry forgot to mention: I'll tally the votes at the end of fifteen minutes. If hiding wins, I'll add the first three votes with a roll in it, and average it. Same with any other action that requires die rolls. If there are ties, then the effects will be combined, if possible.1 vote for hiding1 vote for asserting dominance
Rolled 42>>30000716HideWe can always eat them, but if we hide first we can get the drop on them or learn something about them before they notice we are there.
Rolled 16 + 20Rolling humans spot checks
Hide Check: 45You send out Psychic thoughts to the approaching humans, and one of them drops to the ground, his weapon clattering into the snow, his hands gripping his head. He begins to shout, his voice carried on the wind to you. "Drop your weapons! Drop your weapons! It'll kill us all if we don't!"Two of the men stay behind with the ranting man. The rest spread out and continue their approach, their eyes straining to make out anything in the blizzard. They begin to pass directly around your form, their eyes scanning over your unnaturally still form and dismissing it as nothing more then a large hill or ice formation. The humans are talking amongst each other, and you realize that with just a little concentration you can hear and understand what they're saying. The devoured humans must have allowed you to understand their language."Sarge, this place gives me the creeps.""Stow it Private. We're just looking for survivors.""But we haven't found any. Hell, we haven't even found bodies here, but the whole place is trashed.""Jenkins, get to the front. You're on point. I don't need you going crazy like Adams just did."The humans have nearly entirely passed you now.
Rolled 50>>30001384Do we have vocal cords? If not, speak to them through the one who dropped his weapon, if we do, communicate.
>>30001384Put in all of their heads this."Drop your weapons fleshlings. They are useless against my might, if you do not I shall consume you to the last."
>>30001438You do not have vocal chords. You can attempt to communicate with humans with the improved mental link ability, though in the past that has caused a large amount of exploding heads and madness. You can also communicate through Adams, as he seems to be communicating your desires, though rather ineffectively.
>>30001384Whelp, since we've encountered military forces, lets bust out the Harbinger quotes, but hopefully with less brain popping, that seem to come from everywhere and nowhere before we omnonomnom them. Guy who dropped his weapon, he lives. Quotes to use off the top of my head: “This is true power.”“Face your annihilation.”“You are shortsighted.”“Irrelevant.”“Pitiful.”“These attacks are pointless.”“You are vermin.”"I will end you.”
>>30001384Try to plant thoughts within the susceptible that the other humans are the enemy. We're not in any danger, but we should try to develop our abilities in mind control.
>>30001499Yeah. We should make him our prophet to the world or something.
>>30001531well, I wouldn't call him a prophet since I am disinclined to starting cults, but if we want to act a fighter from Primal, we can do that. I was think more of a... interpreter. we will learn about these humans through him, and in return for providing sustenance and knowledge, he will be permitted to live.
You repeat your command, this time with more force. The humans all stagger as if pushed by a heavy force, and one of the humans, "Jenkins" has his head explode into gore. A few others actually drop their weapons, and you see one of them begging for his comrades to put their weapons down too. Adams, the first to heed your warning acts differently though. While the two that were watching him stagger, he is apparently unaffected. He rises to his feet, a deadly gleam in his eye, and draws a long knife from his boot as he does so. In a heartbeat, the knife disappears into his comrades throat, and blood sprays over Adams. The other human starts screaming, and Adam lunges at him, the knife being driven into the second mans eye before he can even raise his weapon. The screams are swallowed by the blizzard, and no one notices when Adam begins to sprint at the rest of the humans, though only you are able to see him approaching through the snow.
>>30001725Watch our little friend kill his compatriots with fatherly pride.
Rolled 47>>30001725Message to Adams "Stop killing your fellows, if you kill one more of your companions, you will disappoint me greatly."
>>30001725Second this >>30001776
>>30001776what Trav said. We are not Cthulhu. We just happen to have similar interests, namely tentacles and mindrape.
>>30001788>>30001822I mean, what are our real objectives real, if not start a cult? All we've done so far is explode minds and attack a military base.
Adams stops in his tracks and looks down at his hands. You can feel his mind panicking, trying to rationalize, and more importantly, to survive. After a moment, he turns and runs back to his murdered comrades and lies down among them. The soldiers are beginning to recover from the mental shockwave. Some are urging others to drop their weapons, while others are arguing with each other over what caused this. Only the human called "Sarge" noticed Jenkins exploded head. He's standing over the privates corpse and staring at one of your tentacles rather hard. "Smith!" He calls out, without turning away. "SMITH! BRING ME THE SATELLITE MAPS NOW!"
>>30001890Take his thoughts. Rip them from his head. He knows much.
>>30001851the same objectives any organism has: survive and thrive. I just personally think that any cult will prove useless, if not a liability.>>30001890Shit! Capture Him, preferable alive! Don't let anyone escape!
Rolled 46>>30001890Tell Adams to speak the words we tell him.Tell Adams "Hello, sarge. I am Crystorok. You are observant, I am sorry for the mental confusion I caused you and your fellows. I am speaking through this one you call Adams willingly, not forcedly. He seems to have a stronger mind, or at least one able to respect my thoughts. I ask you, for what purpose do you come?"
>>30001890Sarge shows promise among these humans. Thought tentacles!
>>30001956>>30001983"Relinquish your thoughts to me""I will tolerate nothing less than total obedience.">>30001980I think that our murder and consumption earlier explains that. Kinda late to play the friendly card.

>>30002091Just our of curiosity, will we be fighting other Kaiju or Giant Robots in the future? not asking for when and under what circumstances, just yes or no answers.
>>30002134Yes to both.
>>30002097Indeed anon. they will all obey or be consumed, as they should be.
>>300020912Straight up mind capture. If not cultists, can we shackle human minds together in a grotesque hivemind situation?
>>30002141I know I'm pushing it now, but would I get an answer if I asked what kind of monsters and stuff we will be fighting? Touhou style, Pacific Rim style, or more 'anime' stuff like Big O.
>>30002097>>30002234, >>30002039, >>30001959, and >>30001499 anon here, Personal bias talking again, but I would say more Alexander the Great style: "yeah you get to keep doing what your doing, just give me large amounts of chow every year and don't bug me with your petty concerns."
You force your will onto Sarge. He staggers and his hands fly to his head as you deliver your demands to him.>"Relinquish your thoughts to me. I will tolerate nothing less than total obedience."And suddenly the humans mind begins spilling memories and images into your head, rapid fire. >A briefing room filled with more soldiers, easily two hundred. A man with many awards and ribbons who the Sarge knows as "The Captain" is telling them of the sudden disappearance and final transmission of every human in Camp Charlie. They're priority is to find survivors and eliminate any hostile threat that presents itself.">Another image, this one more recent. over a hundred soldiers disembarking from a massive aquatic machine called a ship, this one called the "USS HUSKY.." The memory reveals that it, as ell as more soldiers are nearby. The man that "Sarge" called Smith runs up to him, and gags at the sight of Jenkins corpse. He looks from Sarge, to Jenkins Corpse and offers a long tube to the Sarge.
>>30002236I'm not really familiar with anime besides NGE, so most of the monsters and robots wil be more western. Think Battle mechs, Pacific Rim style robots(This isn't a PacRim quest though). Also, the monsters will be drawn from a variety of things: Godzilla, Pacific Rim, and a large, very large amount will be ones I've made up on my own. Also, expect a bit of horror elements as well, though rarely directed at you.
Rolled 97>>30002312"Thank you for your cooporation."Go to the Husky.
>>30002312long tube... Double Shit, that's either a gun, a grenade, or communication device. Stop him! "What the hell do you think you are doing, worm.">>30002391so Call of Cthulhu, but with Giant Fighting Robots. I can dig it. In between fights, we manipulate the puny humans to further our power and control.
>>30002312>>30002421>2421>Rolled 97Wait, does Sarge's mind say what kind of ship it is? Because if its a U.S. Navy NUCLEAR SUBMARINE, we are going in the opposite direction, one way or another. we try and tangle with it, we might find ourselves eating a nuclear reactor in meltdown, and I have no idea if that's good or bad!
>>30002421We should sink the boat, and then leisurely pick the minds of the survivors. Then we eat the least interesting ones.
>>30002421this>>30002421Anon the long tube is a map. Sarge asked him to get it for him.
>>30002522lel, you missed, anon.
>>30002511Sorry, Mathrian. Just a little paranoid since I've doen a couple of these before, and we usually died by massive military firepower before we can actually handle it. Lets see if we can smooth talk our way close to the ship. And by smooth talk I mean influence.
>>30002583hahaha Its totally understandable.
You ply your thralls brain for more information on the "USS HUSKY." It is a "Battleship" Able to throw kinetic, explosive weapons up to several miles. A quick flash of a crew roster that the man had glimpsed lists just under a thousand people on board, as well as four things called "Helicopters," a dozen things called "APCs" and 6 things called "Tanks." There also seems to be something called the "Siren Device TOP SECRET" on board.Sarge turns to the "Smith.""What the hell do you think you're doing, Worm?"The man flinches and holds up the tubes. "The maps, sarge. You.. You asked for them." The man named Smith looks uncertain, as if wondering if Sarge really asked for them.
>>30002672"Give them to me. Where is the USS HUSKY on this map.">we're smart enough to ask but obviously we're going to sound like a retard asking it.
>>30002672Wait, have we ASSUMED DIRECT CONTROL already? That was quick. Use Sarge's knowledge to communicate that "the creature" has fled, and that we need to regroup at the HUSKY for heavier guns. The, while the humans head back, we sneak up and indoctrinate the ship.>>30002706yes we should examine, but we do already know where the HUSKY is.
>>30002755This. Indoctrination sounds gooood.
>>30002672Mind control all the rest of them and then we move toward the ship. Have the men do whatever they would normally do, give a report that something attacked them but they couldnt find anything. Then we slowly take over the minds of everyone on the ship.
>>30002755>>30002843Thirding this plan. Hopefully we can take our time to eat some minds for the relevant information.
I'm going to need rolls to mind control all of them. ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL on one or two people is easy, but controlling a large amount of them, and having them act natural will prove much more difficult. The average needs to be over 50 to succeed.
>>30002881Can we force them to think there is something wrong with the ship? Get them all outside then NOM!!
>>30002796"I am Crystorok, and I am the Harbinger of your evolution!"-Our declaration to the world, and if we go POWER OVERWHELMING with Indoctrination rather than subtle and gradual.>>30002843add this to what I said.>>30002894nobody roll anything else!
>>30000636Also, I forgot to put your final trait on here. >Burrowing: You can burrow through snow, ice and other materials easily. You can burrow through rock and metal given time.
>>30002881I was thinking keep direct control over the ones we currently have, and stick with just influencing the rest. would that change anything?
>>30002929I need at least 3 rolls.
Rolled 89>>30002894Good job travisplo. lol>>30002881rollin
Rolled 93>>30002881>rolling for mind controlHonestly, I won't be that mad if we don't succeed. TIME TO EAT!
>>30002951It would. You would just need to gather the information and have them act naturally without arousing suspicion among the survivors. It would seem that you've already succeeded though.
>>30002988We did succeed, and without a single below roll!
>>30003001We really are Harbinger now. Everyone else ok with reading our lines in Harbinger's voice and the occasional quote?
>>30003032Ugh. If you insist, dude.
>>30003032Come on. No need to get derivative.
>>30003032Uh.. sure I guess. Its not like >>30001499 really sounds that out of character for us. But I would honestly rather be a little more original. Feel free to suggest stuff, but you dont have to keep saying its from where ever. Does that make sense?
You extend your will out to the glowing flares that mark the humans minds to you. Their minds panic briefly at the alien presence invading their thoughts before they are crushed beneath your will. The pressure you have applied on so many minds leave them unable to act outside of your control. They stand around drooling or swaying gently, until you issue the command for them to begin heading towards the Husky, picking up weapons as they go.
>>30003090>>30003119Dominating humans isn't that impressive through and through. They are weak willed, easily manipulated and squishy at that. And humans aren't the only thing out there.
>>30003121>we thrallherd nowFollow the mindcontrolled bastards and submerge ourselves beneath the HUSKY. Start eating the especially stupid humans.
>>30003121Oh snap. Dc of 50 for around 15/20 men. We want to try a whole ship?
>>30003172Nah, we should honestly murder quite of a few of them to thin the ranks.
The dominated humans merge into a single file line and walk for about a mile, while you follow behind them. A few times you feel your psychic grip on them slip as they wander out of your range. You quickly realize that the range of your "Seeing-Thoughts" is roughly equivalent to the limit of your psychic control. After a mile, the humans come across two squat vehicles, painted white in grey. Two humans emerge from the vehicles and approach "Sarge." You are still hidden by the blizzard, though it is beginning to falter now. "What are you doing back so early? Is there anything out there?"Sarge shifts a bit.>Tell them there's nothing out there and that it's pointless to keep looking.>tell them there is something out there, and that they need bigger guns.
>>30003067>>30003090>>30003119You all raise good points. I will keep references to a minimum then. >>30003162>Start eating the Humans who resistfixed.>>30003147True, but if we control enough of them, we can get Nukes. And why engage in fisticuffs when you can just have a thrall push a button and destroy, if not weaken something before it even sees you.>>30003172Sure, but lets go for Indoctrination/Influence rather than direct control. more targets that way. I think we broke the ones we had, and might have lost our ability to communicate with the HUSKEY. Kaiju Magic, can we still do Mithran's idea from >>30002843 ?
>>30003307>bigger guns"There's something out there, and it took Jones. We need bigger guns."
>>30003307>tell them there is something out there, and that they need bigger guns. The goal here is to lure out the tanks then mind blast (or make them turn on their friends) the drivers. We don't want the tanks being able to be brought to bear against us.
>>30003307>OtherWe had an unexplained casualty. Jenkins, right? We need a helicopter to come pick his body up.
>>30003307Again. Mithran's idea: >tell them there is something out there, and that they need bigger guns.with apropriate tones of panic restrained by professionalism, "We need to head back and get heavier weapons. The're's some kind of creature out there, we need tanks, choppers, a whole damm expedition!">>30003413tanks have turrets. we need to enslave/fry the entire crew, not just the drivers.>>30003416we say that it ate Jenkins right in front of us. Rifle fire did nothing.
>>30003471Lol yeah thats what I meant. It will be crazy if all of a sudden the tanks take out eachother and shit
"There's something out there. Something big. It got Jenkins. We need back-up damn it!"The man looks past Sarge, to where Adams is standing, a blank look on his bloodstained face. Then he looks at the rest of the men, one at a time."Radios down in the blizzard. Get in the APC. Whatever's out there, We'll get the bastard."Your thralls file into the APC and you sense them take their seats. The two men who emerged from the APC's look at one another, and you hear them faintly."Kaiju?" One asks"Don't Jinx it." The other says. They separate, one heading to one APC, the second human to the other APC. After a moment and a dull rumble, they turn and begin driving into the quickly thinning blizzard.
>>30003631follow, quietly. Underground/ice if need be, but we need to get under that ship.
>>30003631Can we probe the minds of the thralls for the word "Kaiju"?Also, the blizzard is thinning rapidly. We should eliminate any non-mindcontrolled humans to prevent our detection. Can we have the thralls kill the APC drivers?
>>30003667Yes to the subtle, (I.E. they never realize it, no head explosion, no mind breaking), mind probe, no to the killing the drivers. we can burrow, remember?
>>30003631This >>30003666Im think we may be able to hook onto the underside of their ship and travel with them...slowly learning about them and turning them to our will. we can also feed on passing marine life as we go.

>>30004077Crap I was worried shit might be going down. Its kinda hard the blank face of a broken mind
You burrow under the snow and ice following the APC's as the blizzard calms down. It's still cloudy, but visibility is greatly increased and the wind has slowed significantly. The two APC's round a jagged chunk of ice and into a rapidly built military base. Large construction vehicles have cleared the area and set up massive walls of snow, topped with machine gun positions and barbed wire. White and green tents are set at frequent intervals. A vehicle depot holds 6 tanks, and you notice two more tanks entrenched along the snow berm. Soldiers scurry all about the place, and two helicopters buzz through the air. Beyond the base you see the Husky, a helicopter rising off of it and heading to the base. Further into the bay is another ship, much smaller but still imposing. A different flag flies from it's mast. The Two APCs pull up to a white tent with a red cross on it and your thralls file out. You hear the following words through Sarges ears."Sergeant Holm, in light of recent hostilities, you and the men under your command are being held for a full psychological evaluation according to the guidelines set forth by Operation Blossom. You are not under arrest, but you will be held until such a time that it can be ascertained that you and your men are of sound mind."
>>30004606Oh, fuck Operation Blossom.Open fire.
>>30004606"What?! Why? We didn't even see anything! We lost some men to things we didn't see and we made it back alive. Can the men at least have some rest? They know people were pulled away, and most likely killed. We ALL need rest."

If you want to take control of one of them, I'll need three with an average over 55. Same if you want to take control of a helicopter.>What do you do?

As you surface, you order your remaining thralls to use their weapon on everything but the other thralls. You burst from the snow and ice, and your jagged hide slices straight through a tank, and sends the rest flying through the air. snow, rock, ice and tanks fall all about you and topple several of the tents and soldiers. After a moment of panic, Soldiers begin firing at you, their bullets harmlessly pinging off your icy crystals. One of the helicopters wheels past you and you smash it into the ground with one jagged tentacle. >Base Health: 80/100Your thralls open fire on the medics and they're cut down in a second. The two run out of the tent, rifles firing in quick, uncontrolled bursts whenever a human comes into view. As you finish pulling yourself out of the ground, crushing an overturned tank with your bulk, a plume of fire flies from a metal weapon and smashes into a tentacle. Jagged chunks of crystal fly from the wound and you feel a new sensation: Pain. It stings, badly and you feel yourself grow enraged at the human. some 100 meters away, the two entrenched tanks swivel their turrets to you.>Health -2>Health +1>Health 99/100What will your next action be?

Your thralls begin to run for a smaller tent, with a large radio antenna and a generator next to it. Soldiers are all focused on you, and no one is guarding the tent. Adams sprints in, dropping his rifle as he goes and pulls the pin on four grenades. A moment later, the tent explodes, and the antenna topples over onto the ground. You direct a psychic tentacle to one of the tanks and abruptly, the 4 flares of human mind in the tank go dark. The other tank manages to let out a round and the shell shatters against your hide before you can crush the minds of the crew in their tombs. Again you feel pain, unbearable pain. Your tentacles lash out all around you, sweeping entire groups of infantry from the ground and swallowing them into your tentacles. Your immense intellect advises you that anything that can cause that much PAIN to you needs to be avoided, at least for now. You dive into the earth, flinging earth and snow into a geyser as you disappear deep into the earth, your tentacles flailing about as another round of shells churns the ground, shaking the earth. You disappear beneath the earth just in time, as the earth above you continues to shake. There's a massive explosion above you as the missile hits the earth, and you feel the shockwave pass you as you continue to burrow into the earth. But finally you arrive at what you feel is a safe enough depth, and you contemplate your next move. You are at least semi-victorious. Many of the humans are now digesting within your body, their thoughts and memories being absorbed into your hull. Your thralls are dead, although they proved a useful tool. Still, by showing weakness in the face of the Husky, you may invite future retaliation. >What do you do?

Only now is the pain from the battleships cannon wearing off. You wrap your tentacles in a protective shell around you and plan your next move as you digest the human remains.>The Husky is a Clinton-class battleship built last year. It's armed with 6 18-inch cannons and a Cruise missile launcher, with 16 cruise missiles on board. It also has a bay for deploying depth charges, and has more then a hundred on board. >>30008588We should wait for now, even though i would like to use it.
You wait for an hour, until the crystals that have been cracked and shattered across your form have been regrown and the pain has completely subsided. The bombardment ended after two or three minutes. You begin to burrow through the earth in the direction of the ocean. It's not far, and the pointed crest of your head breaks through the earth. Cold sea water flows into your tunnel as you begin to swim. It's not difficult and even seems a bit instinctual to you. You spread your tentacles and then bring them back together, propelling yourself quickly through the water. You're not very sleek, but you're large and powerful and can cover distance quickly. The Husky has moved further from the shore and is about a mile out. There's no sign of the other ship. Night is quickly falling and it will be fully dark in less then ten minutes.>What do you do?

With a mighty pull, you tear the missile launcher off it and send it flying into the water. The humans didn't stand a chance as water pours into the ship and it capsizes from the force of your body. You disengage as the ship begins to sink, and focus instead on swiping humans with your tentacles, their bodies nourishing your own. Still, you tear at the wreck and destroy anything that look important, until all that's left is the scattered steel and metal at the bottom of the harbor. You swim back to the shore and wrap your tentacles around a rock. You are safe for now, and it'll be some time before the humans would dare threaten you. I just want to compliment you guys really quick. /tg/ always tends to go off the rails, and it's made me a lot better at improvising. Here's how I originally thought the quest was going to go:>Wake up, mind control or dominate a few of the patrol, slaughter and eat rest.>helicopter or survivor warns the rest of the base, airstrikes and rail gun attacks constantly harass you>Base is on high alert, 8 tanks+4 helicopters and the ship pounding you with railgun shots.>Finally decide to take out the ship first to get rid of the railgun and then terrorize and feast on the base at your leisure.Obviously it didn't go that way, and I'm kind of glad that it didn't. I like having to improvise and make things up as I go. I understand that the ship was a bit of an anticlimax, but it was realy more of a support piece then an actual fight like the military base. It was also smart to emerge in the base rather then outside, so that the ship wouldn't fire on you for fear of friendly fire until it was too late. Thanks for playing everyone! Hope you all enjoyed it. I'm thinking the next game will be saturday sometime. Follow me on twitter or check the QTG for any updates or changes.
