>Recap

You took your family out for dinner and a movie, then ice cream! After returning home, you spent the evening with Fita. Waking up the next morning, you tidied up her room and went to check on everyone. You were surprised that Bardock and Onia had stayed out all night. You found that Salta was the only one awake, and you spent the morning cuddling with her and watching television. Afterwards, you headed to Mars, collected the healing tanks, and travelled to Huhn-tresh's world to deliver them. While there, you agreed to teach her Instant Transmission.
>>
Huhn-tresh has a determined look on her face, ready to give her all in this new training. Instant Transmission, you know, is not difficult to learn, but she, unaware of this, is acting as if she is preparing to march off to war. It's admirable and somewhat amusing at the same time.

"So, where do we begin?" she asks. "How does one learn to teleport?"

I was under the impression that the reason we got that universal sensing ability is so that we know exactly where all our potential opponents are at any given time so we're never taken by surprise.
>>
>>30019001
Yeah, it was. I'm not sure though whether we could have IT'd to Huhn-Tresh's planet based on an old memory alone, which is more relevant to the current project.

If her memory of the place is fresh enough and clear enough, it should work.
>>
>>30019001
That and teleportation.
I honestly don't know why people thought we should wish for UNLIMITED SENSING RANGE for her, especially since Dragonballs might overload if they're used too often and since the teleportation works on places you've already visited.

We don't have communications technology that sophisticated yet, she doesn't have telepathy, and giving a fleet of space pods to a low-tech civilization strikes me as silly.

The only reason Huhn-Tresh went for the healing tank deal was because it could save lives. I doubt ships would be of any interest.

"On the topic of teaching me things, I've got two questions" you tell her.

"First, why do you favor a spear if Ki weapons can fire energy blasts?" you ask.

"Because simple energy blasts do not always work, and an energy javelin works as well as any other weapon at cutting down other foes, and works better than most at a distance" she explains.

"Second, is there any sort of limit to how much energy can be poured into it?" you ask. "When I form one, will I have to be at my full power for it to survive my full power?"

"Being at full power while doing so is ideal" she confirms. "Otherwise, it will always be weaker than you are. However, it can continue to grow in power just as you can."

She shakes her head. "It would not damage it, but the blade would be useless against someone with fifty times your current power. If you were to forge it at your full power, however, its strength would adjust based on how much power you use. So, if you forged it at fifty times power, but fought at your current strength, its strength would lower to match it."

"Would you be willing to help me learn to use a short spear?" you ask.

"Just considering the options, and your arguments in favor of a javelin-length weapon made some sense."
>>
>>30020153
Why the fuck would you EVER engage infighting with a spear?
Actually, spear doesn't fit our fighting style at all.

The point of using a spear is to keep the enemy out of striking distance, but you can't exactly do that unless you're at roughly the same speed as your opponent.

We always face people who are stronger than us, therefore we can only keep up with going kaioken and trying to get a hard hit in.
We need something that'll deal maximum damage with a single hit like an axe or a hammer.

>>
>>30020304
I offered a shortspear to appease the spear-wanking crowd from the last few threads. Personally, I just want a sword again, because swords are all-purpose motherfuckers. Only reason I'd support a shortspear is to get in some time with Huhn-Tresh, and at least it's not as unpractical as a glaive or a halberd.

She nods. "I shall do my best. Warhammers hit the hardest, but they generally are slower than other weapons. A battle axe is not quite as slow, and is nearly as powerful. Javelins and short spears work well at a distance and can also be effective at close range. An energy bow can turn your energy into piercing shots, extremely effective at range. A dagger strikes quick and precisely, but if really only useful at close range. They can be thrown, but to far less effect than a spear of javelin. A scythe is extremely difficult to use effectively. A sword is a perfect balance of speed and strength. They are probably the best close ranged weapons."

>>30021287
Frank is the most average fighter, he should get a sword to capitalize on his averageness.

>>30021217

If we're going for a weapon, let's at least go for one that could hack off a limb. Daggers were never a major offensive weapon for good reason.
>>
>>30021132
Muh autism says Scythe, although in actuality I'm thinking maybe Axe
>>
As far as weapons go, the whole point is to extend our reach and the deadliness of our attacks in duels and small-group combat situations. Picking a short weapon is stupid because we don't use shields (unless we develop a particularly powerful ki shield). Picking a weapon that's too large is stupid because its usefulness only works in group combat. Spears and two-handers can take on sword-wielding opponents but perform poorly against lightning-fast motherfuckers who prefer to punch you.

We need something in the middle in terms of length, preferably with high mobility and versatility. This leaves us with these options:
Rapier (long reach, extremely maneuverable, good for thrusting which we're proficient in already)
Longsword (can be used for slashing and thrusting and bashing (flip that fucker around and bash with the pommel) and has long reach)
Shortspear (good for throwing but isn't as versatile as the rapier or longsword)

"Not really" you tell her. "Their world, relatively speaking, is very soft. Few notable predators, very hospitable climate, in the absence of true challenges they have been allowed to thrive. The thing is, they have potential. Extraordinary potential just waiting to be unlocked. Fita and two other friends I'll introduce you to are testament to that."

"And what, the others simply wallow in laziness and never reach their full potential?" Huhn-tresh asks, sounding disgusted.

Their species seems to lack the warrior mentality that a Saiyan does. They also have to train extraordinarily hard to reach a modicum of strength that a Saiyan has by birthright as well. Though this has allowed them focus into other pursuits, like muffin buttons and medical technology and stuff.

"The others, for the most part, have no idea how to do it. Fita, 17 and 18 - the other two - all had their power unlocked by an external force, there are other humans that have begun scratching the surface of what they can achieve, but it'll be a slow, multigenerational process if they progress by ki experimentation and passing down tradition. Like I said, lack of external pressure has led to what we perceive as laziness, but form most of them strength just isn't a priority. Providing for family, improving ones social status, other things we largely consider irrelevant take precedence. My opinion, which I'm not quite willing to test yet, is that a mass ki awakening could change all of that. Showing them what they can do, what they can become...that could change everything in an instant. Of course, with billions of them running around, the world would undoubtably be destroyed every other week while they got a handle on things unless we figure out some safety measures to stop that."

You decide to find out where everyone is. Activating your scouter, you track their locations. Androids 17 and 18 are still in the city, their power levels of 3,000,000,000 hard to miss. Spina and Fita are inside the Capsule Corp building, each clocking in at around 30,000,000. Most of the kids are inside as well. Kayle at 2,500,000, Portan at 5,000,000, Selri and Collie each at 20,000,000, Bael at 5,000,000, Brola at 4,500,000, Erica at 20,000,000, Blaine at 4,000,000. You also detect Ragus, who is at 4,200,000. Far off, you detect Goku, at 32,000,000, Bardock, at 40,000,000, Onia, at 8,000,000, and Chi Chi, at 2,000. Salta, Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta are on Mars, Salta at 30,000,000, Vegeta at 35,000,000, Raditz at 24,000,000 and Nappa at 20,000,000. Out of curiosity, you scan Huhn-tresh, who has a power level of 12,000,000. Odd, considering how thoroughly she beat Nappa despite him having a two million power level advantage on her.

I love that Erica, who is only 10 years old could probably take out Huhn-Tresh, just in terms of power.
>>

So, something is off about Huhn-Tresh and her planet. If memory serves, the creatures there were stronger than they seemed to us when we first arrived, and Huhn-Tresh herself thrashed Nappa from an apparent disadvantage.

Vegeta is pitching the idea of a Saiyan breeding program. Spina and Salta having kids with him, Nappa, Raditz and Goku.
>>
>>30027175
I have that little trust in you. But that reaction was good, at least.

>>30027141
Point is, he still has trust issues. If it's Fita he has an issue with, then he shouldn't go sneaking about talking to members of her family in secret. If it's someone else he doesn't trust, he should have told us.
>>
Rolled 11, 31 = 42

>>30027211
The girls.would kill him for that I think
>>
>>30027211
In that case I'd hope Vegeta likes the idea of having his nuts force-fed to him. Because that'd be the likely response.
>>
>>30027262
Vegeta sees Fita as an open book, he's pretty sure he has her figured out, and doesn't mistrust her. He's a bit wary of her at times, because he knows if he makes one wrong move she can turn against him rather quickly.

>>30027211
No. Stop that. Right now.
>>
>>30027263
He might survive if he suggests artificial insemination. The still wouldn't go with it, but it's somewhat less offensive.
>>
>>30027263
It would be different than if Frank suggested it, then they'd just murder him quickly and have it over with.

Vegeta probably wouldn't get even that luxury.
>>
>>30027298
>No. Stop that. Right now.
Bwahahaha

>>30027331
>>30027307
>>30027287
>>30027263
No, stop it.
>>
>>30027298
And yet, he's behind locked doors. It's not the aliums he's avoiding, otherwise he'd be on Earth. It's probably not Frank, it's definitely not Spina, and it's clearly not Salta. Apparently it isn't Fita. Raditz and Goku are too open to be threats. Makes no sense for it to be one of the kids.

That leaves a few options.
>>
>>30027512
I'll give you a hint, it's totally one of the people you just mentioned that he doesn't trust.

>Any more questions?
>>
>>30027547
... Salta? Really?
>>
>>30027578
Nope, although...no, that's not who I was referring to
>>
>>30027547
I'm calling it now, it's Spina.
>>
>>30027617
Yes, yes Anime. The one person trusts less than anybody is Spina. He is terrified her and Fluffy will stage a coup and usher in a new, dark age of dinosaur dominion over the universe.

>Any final questions?
>>
>>30027605
You've explicitly ruled out Frank and Fita. Salta you got a tad dodgy with, but basically ruled out. In fact, he called her up specifically, so it must be someone she's connected to somehow.

I have a hard time thinking that anyone could mistrust Spina, unless they over-analyzed it and decided she was too inoffensive to be trustworthy.

Bardock? The self-sacrificing teenager? Untrustworthy? That's a laugh.
>>
>>30027709
I KNEW IT
>>
>>30027721
Nope, none of them. And you have no idea what he called Salta about
>>
>>30027721
He probably distrusts Ragus, but that's just good sense.
>>
>>30027755
I'd tell you to quit teasing us and finish it off, but I get the feeling you're enjoying this too much.
>>
>>30027721
Hey, if you reveal crucial details about the plot, at least mark it as a spoiler :(
>>
>>30027777
Who he mistrusts probably won't come as a shock when it's revealed, as for what he is discussing with Salta, I'm not sure how you all will react. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy making you all sweat a little, though.

>>
>>30027810

... relationship advice for how to deal with Bulma? Somehow King Vegeta doesn't seem like the type to give his kid the birds and bees lecture.
>>
>>30028016
We could always knock down the door.

But yeah, locking up and refusing to answer when we've brought a guest representative from an allied world? After we've already discussed being more open with him about shit? How exactly would Frank be expected to react?
>>
>>30028069
He's been in a relationship with Bulma for 2 years, he's figured things out
>>
>>30028108
We'll see how things play out, won't we?
>>
>>30027810
>>30028016
Psychic questions is the best way to poke around. First we ask Salta, then Vegeta until we at least get a "later". We avoid knocking down the door if at all possible.

>>30028123
Just two years? That's a whole lot of Bulma staring at him dreamily.

>>30028148
So my only guess is he doesn't trust Raditz. That's the only one mentioned >>30027512 that might conceivably be untrustworthy, despite being a bro.
