Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.

YOU ARE LOLI,

and you've just returned to the cave you slept in last night after a race against a bandit team to a huge weapons stash almost went terribly wrong.
Vasa is in the back, gently tending to an unconscious Kris, while you're fiddling about with your kit, pulling on your clothes and stuffing Kris' bloodied pajamas in your bag. You'll make sure to clean them, or get her a new pair, or something. You get the feeling she probably isn't as okay with sleeping in other people's blood as you are...

STASH INVENTORY:
Primed RPG warhead and IED detonator.
Enough plastic explosive to level the Zone twice over.
RPK-74 with 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
2x Desert Eagles, chambered for .50
MP5K with 5 magazines
(Some other stuff, but you got bored of listening to Vasa talk guns.)

>Did you take anything with you when you left?

mp5 seems a good size for us and would be handy

Nab the IED and the C4. Both are going to be fantastically useful.

RPK, while it would be hilarious. Is far too big and heavy for us.

MP5K is perfect loli-size, we used the full size one back in the garbage like 10 threads ago.

Deagles while pistols, will have far too much kick for loli.

We could nab everything we can carry and sell the stuff we are not using? Pretty sure a gasmask would be a good purchase.

Actually, idea.

Take the C4, work it into a Suicide vest. But with no detonators.
Put some crap together for what looks like a deadman's switch.

Use it to blackmail people. We get captured enough, it will probably be useful.

The explosives you picked up fit just fine in your Hello Kitty backpack, but it's pretty much completely full now. The little machine gun that Vasa calls an "MP5K" has a sling that you've found fits comfortably over your shoulder, so it hangs at your side as you move.

Vasa finishes doing whatever she's doing, and moves a little way from the bedroll to start packing away her own gear. She seems to be struggling to find a way to stash the four RPG warheads into her already full cookware/survival kit pack, and every one of her pockets and pouches are full of ammunition or other tactical gear. The launcher itself, she appears to be planning to simply sling over her shoulder.

You call out to her, "hey, Kris is okay, right?"

She stops what she's doing to glare in your direction. "No thanks to you. And I don't honestly know. Head wounds. She might be fine, she might be dead in the next few minutes. What do you care, anyway?"

The question hits you like a physical attack. "Of course I'd care, she's my friend!"

"HA! This is how you treat your friends? Sure as hell glad I'm not one of them, then."

You stop yourself from screaming back that she IS your friend, too. You feel like it wouldn't help right now. Instead, you offer to help her carry those grenade things. She doesn't bother to look at you this time as she answers. "No need. I can carry my own stuff. I'll carry Kris' stuff, too. Since she's in no shape to haul weight." She gives one final shove and the fourth grenade slips 'comfortably' into place in Kris' food bag.

You move over to Kris' sleeping form and start to check out her injury. "OI, what are you doing?" Vasa's stood behind you and looks as if she's ready to pull her gun on you. It was adorable how relieved she looked when she managed to find the pistol she dropped during the fight.

"I'm just checking..." You gently lift Kris' head, supporting her neck with one hand as you run the other gently around her skull. You can feel a pretty bad swelling at the base of her skull, and she winces and cringes as you gently feel around it. "...We should take her to the Doc," you tell Vasa.

"No. Hell no. I don't care what you say, we're not taking her into that den!"

"You said it yourself, she might die! The Doc can take care of her better than you or me! I'll pay for it and all."

"Tha-" Anger flares on Vasa's face, but she doesn't try to argue the point.

"Or do you not really care if she dies either!?" You raised your voice more than you meant to, but it had the desired effect.

Vasa's face lowers as she gives you the darkest look you've ever had.

"Fine. But you're taking responsibility. If anything goes wrong, I kill you first." She shoves you out of the way, and tenderly picks Kris up, the latter groaning weakly as she's lifted from the bedroll once more.
"Grab those and let's go."

She heads for the cave mouth, leaving you to grab both your own and Kris' bags as well as her bedroll.

It's really, really awkward to walk with all this.

You struggle to keep pace with Vasa as she crosses the long distance to the boat. She moves as if she was carrying nothing at all, still managing to move from solid ground to solid ground even at speed across the marsh. You do your best to match her steps with your own load, but manage to miss-step a few times, your boots plunging deep into the mud. They barely look like the smooth white beauties they were by the time you finish the trip.

The guard up top doesn't even seem to register that the three of you have passed under him, and you finally catch up to Vasa as she stands next to the door. You can't tell if she's just waiting for you to open it, or is expecting you to go in first.

>Vasa's ass is permanently concealed by her ghillie, so who knows?
>Kris has a fantastically pert butt, but she's being fireman carried by Vasa right now, so it's not exactly in grabbing reach. Though she's also not in a position to object.
>>

So basically we can stroll in, let them know the girls are with us, and be on our way without issue. Okay then.
>>
>>30114164
You put one of the bags down to free up a hand for opening the door, then grab it again to hop through the door first. The room in general, once again, turns to glance once in your direction, sees you leading, and turns back to their business.

Vasa follows at a sedated pace, carefully eyeing every corner of the establishment. You're already almost to the stairs, giving Beard a quick greeting wave, but Vasa's maybe only a third of the way through the room before a few whispers kick up. "Hey, look at that. There's three of them now." "Girls in the Zone?" "Hey, how long have they been here?" "Why'd noone tell me?"
Vasa's head starts to swivel faster and faster as she's obviously trying to track the whispers without having any experience with situations like this. You take a few steps back to her and take her hand firmly. The whispers silence immediately, though you feel an extra few pairs of eyes tracking you now.
You lead Vasa the rest of the distance to the stairs and up to the Doc.

"Ah, great, you again. What now?" You've had warmer welcomes, but you greet him enthusiastically anyway, then gesture to Kris and ask him if he can do anything.

He tells Vasa to put Kris on the bunk, and after she complies, he gives Kris a quick once-over. You note Vasa's hands curl into tight fists as Doc's hands pass over Kris' body, lingering in some places longer than others. "Okay, so no serious injuries anywhere but the head." He feels the back of her head gently, "and only one here. Blunt trauma, heavy swelling, possible cracked skull."

He stands up again and turns to the two of you. "I've got some kick-ass drugs that should deal with most of the problems. Anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, painkiller. I wanna check her when the swelling goes down, so let her stay here for a bit."
>>
>>30114643
Vasa's eyebrows raise slightly. "Really? There's a drug like that for this??"

Doc turns to stare her dead in the eye. "Yup. Aspirin." You can almost hear Vasa's gears grind to a stop as her sudden burst of faith in the Doc's abilities is banished.

You just take the information in, and agree to leave Kris in his care for a while. Vasa tells you she'll stay here to watch over her, leaving you free to act as normal for now.

You head back down to the bar, and notice Beard visibly perk up at your arrival. "Morning, girl. Good to see you still alive and kicking. We got a bit worried when we heard Kiyiya was after you. We could hear the fight from here. Thought he might've gotten you."

You giggle a little. "Someone like him, killing me? Hahaha! We sent him running!" Beard smiles at your optimism, but there's still a hint of worry on his face.

"So anyway, what can I get you today?"

He chuckles, before reaching under the bar for a package. It's kind of impressive how he always seems to have the exact items you're after hidden just under the bar in front of him. You put the thought out of your head as you take the bag of clothes for him, instead asking for the other two. "Could you maybe get some clothes for my friends, too? I don't think they really want their pictures taken, but they do like nice clothes too!"

He hrrrms for a few moments, before slowly nodding his head. "It would be easier for me, and more profitable for all of you if they did. But I can get them clothes, no problem. What sort do they want?

"Hmmm.. I don't really know what they'd like, so I think they should pick for themselves. Oh! But they definitely need new pajamas! Something really silky and comfortable, but also maybe pink and definitely really girly!" You inform him of your demands, and a small smile forms on his lips.

"That I can definitely do. Now, how about you get changed and we get our business out the way?"

You hop away from the bar to your usual spot behind the stairs and once again strip to your underwear, tossing your old clothes aside and donning your new outfit. The last set aren't exactly in bad condition bar the layer of mud on your boots, and are certainly practical. You stuff them into the bag you got the new set in and lash it to your backpack. You're really starting to collect more stuff than you can realistically carry.

The new clothes seem to be... some sort of sailor uniform? A white blouse with black trims over a purple jean collar and deep purple ribbon tie, and a pleated purple skirt frilled at the hem. The kit also has a pair of black tights with a purple diamond pattern up the outside leg, a small jewel that clips around the back of your left hand and a small metal buckler shield that straps around your left wrist. A purple hairband and a cute little watch finish off the costume. The set also had a pair of black high heels, but they look so ridiculously impractical that you just toss them aside.
Oddly, the re-attachment of your pistol holsters seem to blend perfectly into the outfit, as opposed to every previous one that they clearly weren't meant to be there and usually spoiled the entire look.

You skip back to Beard to show off your new look, and he nods approval. "Right, this time I definitely want to insist you dye your hair. You've got the perfect hair for it, it just needs to be black instead of blonde...

You agree, and he pops open a side entrance for you to enter the bar. He leads you into a back room you didn't even know existed, which appears to be his personal bedroom. A single bunk takes up the majority of the room, with a few personal belongings on shelves lining the walls. In the corner of the tiny room is a washbasin with an attached showerhead.

He sits you down on a stool before the wash basin, produces a tube of black hair dye as if from nowhere, and he gets to work with a maniacal grin on his face.

[Timeskip.]

You both emerge into the back of the bar together. "That... was the first time someone's done that to me," you say in a weak voice. "You could've been more gentle... And my hair's still all sticky."
Beard makes a choking noise behind you as the entire room goes into silent, seething anger directed squarely at him.
"Though I suppose black does suit me! Thank you~!" The room at large finally take note of your new hair color and the anger dissipates.

Beard takes a few moments longer to recover, but finally brings his camera to bear. "Alright, pose time I guess." At that phrase, you can hear a chorus of other picture-taking devices being drawn eagerly behind you.

Your usual poses don't seem like they'd fit this outfit, so instead you opt for a few competent- and intimidating-looking poses, popping your pistols out for a few of them. A few serious-looking faces pulled for the crowd make the rapid-fire camera snaps double in intensity each time, and you generally do your best to cater to the audience as usual. After a few minutes of that, you opt for one final cute pose, with a cheeky wink at the end.
The crowd goes wild.
You actually get concerned that they're going to try something, with the hungry, eager looks in their eyes. But they seem to calm themselves when you remind them that you're very well armed by pulling one of your pistols and cocking it loudly.
In the moment of silence that follows this motion, you inform the men that if they touch, bother, or so much as look at either of your friends the wrong way, you will be very, very angry.
You punctuate the speech by twirling one of your pistols around your finger and slamming it home in its thigh holster, cowboy style.

Beard gives you the okay when he's got enough pictures and the crowd settles down back to their tables again, each table quickly distributing pictures of you from various angles between themselves.
Half-way up the stairs, you see Vasa in the shadow, watching you, mouth hanging slack.

"Hey, uh, listen. I still feel bad about before. But you seem to be alright now. Anyway, uh. Here, it's my number." He hands you a slip of paper with a long number on it. You turn to face Vasa, still awe-struck on the stairway. "So... what'd you think?"

"I don't even... what was that?"

"My work, of course! Beard dresses me up and everyone takes photos. Didn't I already tell you that?"

"And... he pays you for that?"

"Yup! You two can join in too, if you want. But, I also told Beard you wouldn't want to. He said you can still get clothes from him if you want, and he'll just take it out of my pay."

Her face softens a little. "You'd do that for us?" She clears her throat, "well, I'll think about it, alright?"

"Un~!" You nod happily at her, before changing the subject. "So... how's Kris now?"

"The swelling's gone right down, and she's woken up. It looks like it was just a big bruise after all. Doc reckon's she's fine and we can go whenever."
Well, that's good news, though Vasa still looks pretty uncomfortable.

You take her by the wrist and start dragging her down the stairs. "Come on, help me trade with Beard. Then we'll be ready and we can get out of here!" She doesn't resist you as you pull up in front of Beard.

Before you can ask to see his wares, though, he hands a large wad of cash to you. "For the photos. Right then, what can I get you?"

>The explosives you picked up fit just fine in your Hello Kitty backpack, but it's pretty much completely full now. The little machine gun that Vasa calls an "MP5K" has a sling that you've found fits comfortably over your shoulder, so it hangs at your side as you move.

Are you?
>>
>>30116890
I'm telling you to go back and get them.

You don't simply find Deagles and not take them.

>>30116535
You turn to Vasa, "is there anything you think we need?"

She visibly thinks for half a heartbeat, before saying "yes, but it's going to cost a lot."

"That's alright, I have a lot!"

"How much is a lot?" You hand her the wad Beard just gave you, as well as what's left of your savings. "This... isn't a lot. Do you even know how money works?"

"OF COURSE I KNOW HOW MONEY WORKS! You work and people give you money, then you use it to buy things from other people. But you can't buy happiness with it, and everyone always needs more of it!"

She stares at you with an indeterminable expression for a long few seconds, before slowly starting her explanation. "Riight, look, money is the solid form of currency, which is an arbitrary value assigned to items to help the trade economy run smoothly..."

[A long few minutes later...]
[CONGRATULATIONS! Loli now understands currency.]

Vasa takes all of your money and starts haggling with Beard for a few more minutes. You sit and watch in awe as the prices go down while the number of items goes up and up. She finally stops talking and hands all of your money to Beard, as well as another wad she pulls from somewhere in her vest. Beard pushes the items across the bar to her and thanks her for the business. She pockets only a few of the items, before handing the rest to you. "Didn't get what I was hoping for, but no matter. We just need to avoid irradiated areas like we do anyway. Here, you should find these useful."

She's managed to acquire you a large bag similar to hers and Kris', which looks pretty sturdy and would blend in pretty well with the ground wherever you had to drop it, as well as a pair of wicked looking serrated knives with matching sheathe. She also gives you a small respirator, which you hang about your neck.

>>
>>30116943
You start to move all the kit from your Hello Kitty pack to the larger ruck, and generally distribute everything about yourself for ease of use. Meanwhile, Vasa disappears upstairs once more, returning shortly with Kris leaning gently on her side. "The scum overcharged for the aspirin, but otherwise we're good to go."

Kris waves meekly at you, a thin smile on her face. "I have such a headache, you wouldn't believe." She's barely finished making the comment when her pocket starts vibrating. She looks down in vague surprise, before pulling out her PDA and answering the call, leaning away from Vasa to listen. "Yeah, it's me. Yeah. Yeah... right. No, no not... got it." She hangs up, and looks uncomfortably at Vasa. "That was the guy. He says your Dad's moving again. We need to stop hanging around and get after him."

Vasa's face goes blank, before she takes off towards the door. "Well, what the hell are we waiting for then? Let's get after him!"

Just as you're about to leave Skadovsk after Vasa, a hand catches your arm. A gruff voice, "'ey, girl, wait." It's Sergei. "'ts'a long shot, but 'ow 'bout takin' me with ya? This place sucks an' Sultan c'n choke on a dick fer all I care." His balaclava is still covering his features, but his eyes seem eager and honest, as far as you can tell.

About the same, really. You give those outdated pieces of shit too much credit. These aren't the highly tuned modern custom rangequeens either. These are worn, battered combat A1's that like to feed only ball ammo and aren't really all that reliable even in a clean environment.
>>
>>30117710
I think there was concern the deagles would be too powerful for Loli? That seems a valid point, maybe try them out to see if we can use them well? Otherwise, Kris and Vas are stronger than us and might be able to use them.

>>30117776

I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

You turn to Kris, who's stopped behind you, looking after Vasa. "What d'you think?"

"Eh, oh. Well. If he's dodgy, we can always butcher him later, right?" Sergei shifts uncomfortably, "Vass won't like it, but she doesn't like anything so it's fine." You take this as a positive, and tell Sergei he's welcome to come along if he'd like, before running out the door after Vasa. Kris and Sergei immediately follow, and you hear Sultan screaming after you about how he didn't give Sergei permission to leave, and how he's going to track him to the ends of the-
The rest of the threat is cut off by the boat door slamming shut.

A little ways away from the boat, you manage to catch up to Vasa, who has apparently realized that you can't keep pace if she doesn't wait for you.
After a quick discussion, you convince her not to blow Sergei's brains out of his head on the sheer principle of the matter, and to make a short detour back to the stash. She agrees to the first on condition that Sergei removes his balaclava, which he does, and to the second on condition that Sergei waits outside and that she's the one to distribute weapons.

An hour later, you're stood on the road outside the sawmill with your assembled team. Vasa is still sporting her silenced sniper, Kris has traded up for what is apparently a slightly better variant of her old Russian assault rifle, and Sergei is grinning from ear to ear while hefting a machine gun that basically looks like Kris' rifle, but with a longer barrel and a bunch of drums instead of the more common box magazines.
Doggy appeared while you were all rummaging, but luckily Sergei didn't react by shooting him up, and proper introductions were made. Doggy seems content with the addition to the team, sitting by Sergei's side, wagging his tail as you take aim with one of your two new desert eagles held firmly in both hands.

You pull the trigger, and the gun leaps in your hands. You keep your grip though, and just about manage to put strength into your arms again before it cracks you in the face. The round hits the road and skips away, only a few inches from the rock you were aiming at.

Vasa comments from behind you. "Well. The recoil didn't break your arms. I guess you can use it if you want. Though I'd recommend you keep a real weapon to hand. You know, in case you need to actually shoot something." Sergei sniggers, and you give both of them a withering glare. "Alright, enough messing about. Let's get out of here already."

Vasa once again takes point and leads the party away towards... wherever it is you're going. You don't really care, so you just stay quiet and let her lead, chatting quietly to Sergei. Apparently he has quite a colorful history in the Zone, but he never really goes into detail as to what exactly he's been doing. He tells how he got this scar when a bloodsucker attacked his squad and he took it on with a bread knife, and this other scar when he got captured by bandits a few months back. This other burn scar, he got trying to rescue his friend trapped inside a flame anomaly, and this one was...
He admits he ended up in Sultan's debt and has been working as his bodyguard for a short while to try to pay it off. He took a chance with you, hoping that Sultan would have enough brains to not come after this group. And if they did, they certainly wouldn't stand a chance.

After a few hours of walking, the entire party suddenly comes to a stop. "Eh, Vasa, what is it?"

She points forwards. And then to the left. And to the right. And finally behind you. "Anomalies. Anomalies everywhere. We're lost." In each direction she points, you can sort of see a faint glimmer in the still air, as if something is disrupting that spot. The glimmers are all around you.

>>
>>30119010
You got this deep into an anomaly field without your detector alerting you?? You take it out and check it. As far as you can tell, it's working just fine, but it's not reading anything despite being so close to the haze. You look around for anything to throw, but find nothing useful to hand. Sergei seems to get what you're looking for though, and offers up a single bolt out of a bag of bolts he apparently keeps in his vest pocket for some reason.

You toss it underarm into the haze in front of you, and it disappears. A whop behind you makes you turn, to find the bolt lying at Kris' feet at the back of the party.
"Well that's not good," Sergei mutters."

You retrieve the bolt and try throwing it behind Kris instead. It plomps into the ground at the head of the column. Throwing it to the right, it disappears again, and a bolt falls from the sky, bouncing off Vasa's head. She glares at you, insisting you did that on purpose.

Only one direction left... you throw the bolt to the left, and it disappears. It doesn't come back.

Turning to face everyone, you strike a dashingly heroic pose. You summon up the biggest smile you can possibly muster, before diving head-first into the haze. The world warps around you, and you feel like your breakfast is being forced back up into your mouth. The team look like they're being flung away from you, or you from them. You can't quite tell. The consistency of the marsh you're walking through goes from browny-green to a dull grey.

Then your face meets concrete. You shift your weight to your forearms and roll the rest of the impact off, bringing yourself back to your feet and ready for action. You're in a street, in the middle of a built-up residential area. In the distance ahead of you, you can make out the shape of a power plant. The buildings on either side are separated by narrow streets, and most of the doors have been cracked open.

After a few moments, the rest of your party comes stumbling into the street beside you. Kris immediately drops to her knees and wretches against the wall.

Sergei mutters one word. "Crap."

You throw yourself through a different doorway, and find yourself stepping out of one of the side streets. About-facing and walking back down the street, you find yourself exiting the street opposite it.

He moves off to one side, barks happily at something, then runs through the wormhole. A few seconds later he comes from behind you and leaps into the wormhole again.
Yep, he's got no idea.

Behind you, Kris is mumbling under her breath to herself, deep in thought.

Hey... Hey, Sergei. Give me a leg up?" He walks over the building next to you and offers you his hands, cupped together. You put one foot in them, and he hauls you upwards. You grab onto the ledge of the open window and quickly haul yourself inside. You're now standing in the bedroom of a dilapidated old one-bedroom flat of a three-story apartment. Most of the opposite wall is gone, and you can see a fire escape on the other side. The main corridor leads to a bunch of other similar-looking flats, with a flight of stairs at the end leading to the other floors.

You call out to the others that you're in just fine, and Sergei quickly gives a leg-up to the other two as well, before clambering up himself, unassisted.

When confronted with the option, there really is no other choice. You finish dropping to the floor, and start your way along the sewer pipe. You're sure the others will work out where you are soon enough.
After just a few short paces, the light from the manhole stops being useful, and you have to resort to your headlamp to see any further.
As soon as the lamp comes on, you're confronted with the horribly familiar sight of a hunched figure half-wearing a gas-mask. He's staring straight at you. And with a growl, he leaps.

We got shiny new knife!

I know how this works.

If you stand in the Snork's hitbox so your feet are on his head, he can't hurt you, since he lunges forward to attack you, and his attack's hitbox goes PAST you. You can then merrily knife his hilariously ineffective ass to death.

I also know how to win a knifefight with a Pseudogiant, if it comes to that.

You barely have time to react, pulling both your pistols from their holsters and bringing them to target with a terrified squeal. They'll never make it in time. It's going to hit you right in the face!

With a soft whop, it disappears mid-air before you. Well, that was close.

You shrug and continue along the tunnel for a while, until you come to a junction. You try the left tunnel, but it brings you out on the right side. Trying the left tunnel brings you back to the right.

Bah! It's a long and disappointed shuffle back to the access ladder to get back out of the dead end.

When you haul yourself out the hole, you're greeted by the party waiting for you.
"Where on Earth were you?" Kris asks as soon as you emerge.

Vasa answers. "Dark, scary tunnel full of who-knows what mutants and no obvious sign of an exit. Do you really need to ask where she was?" You sense a deep hint of annoyance from Vasa. Sergei just looks between you all, confused. Doggy just barks happily. Wait, Doggy? How did he manage to keep up with the party when it's all been climbing so far?? Eh, whatever.

The street you're now standing in is very similar to the first, except one of the buildings has collapsed into a pile of rubble on one side, and the power plant seems a little closer.

After a few attempts at poking around the area, you again discover no obvious way out. Your last resort is clambering over the rubble. As you do so, you hear voices ahead and gesture for everyone to stay low and hold back. Vasa crawls up to the edge of the rubble with you. Just over the other side is a small clearing with two men in the distinctive full-length rain coats. One of them is holding a map, while the other is looking with rapt attention over his shoulder. "Great," you mutter to Vasa. "Maybe these guys know the way!"

You both crawl forwards into better positions, watching over them from just a few yards away.

"I can't believe we're spying on bandits to find a way out of here," Vasa grumbles beside you. You hush her, you're trying to listen to what they're saying.

The first bandit, holding a map in both hands, turning it about in his hands in futility, finally exclaims. "Where the hell are we!? We've been here for a month! How the hell is it even possible to get lost in a city!?"

At this a third bandit appears from a side street, calling to them. "Hey guys! I found a way out!" Both men turn to face him. Without further ado, he places the barrel of his rifle in his mouth and pulls the trigger.

The clearing is silent for a long moment, before Vasa breaks it. "Well, that was kinda depressing..."

Right as you're about to hit the two with your extended knife, space distorts around you again. Both men spin in place at the "whop" you make as you disappear, and you find yourself above them, falling straight onto them. You don't have time to react though, before you plummet between them and, with another whop, hit the floor in the rubble next to Vasa. She turns to stare in sheer mind-numbed awe at you.

"I know you said you were getting that map, but I was expecting a more... linear approach." You tilt your head in confusion at her, before you notice that your blade is currently piercing the map they were holding.

That was totally your plan all along, right?
The spray of rapid gunfire over your heads brings your focus back into the game.

It's a smooth execution. The volley from your left pistol tears through the left bandit, while your right pistol guns the right bandit down.
You still have at least half a magazine left, too!

With the dust settling and no other bandits appearing from the woodwork, you're pretty sure it's safe to check out the map now. The group assembles, and you unfold the map before them.
One glance tells you immediately why the bandits were struggling to find their way out using this thing.

You attempt to feed the map to Doggy before checking the bandits and poking around randomly some more. Right before Doggy chows down on the map, though, Kris leaps forwards and snatches the map from you. "Don't! This is the map out!"

The group stare blankly at her for a very long few moments. "No, look, see. If you assume we started at Watford Junction, then we made the change at Oxford Circus. The little jaunt through the tunnel then was us crossing to the Edgware Line. So all we need to do now is follow the line to Euston and through to Highgate, which is clearly where we want to be!"

"That still doesn't tell us where we need to go."

"Sure it does!" She consults the map for a few more seconds, then skips forwards through a doorway and disappears. Sergei looks between you all, shrugs, and jogs through the door after her.

Under Kris' guidance, it only takes two more wormhole jumps (both of which she gets first time), and you find yourself stood in front of the power plant, outside the space anomaly field.

"And how in the hell do you figure that, genius?" Vasa asks her incredulously.

"I, uh, had to travel on the Underground once. I just figure maybe the Zone has the same logic? Or lack of."

"So, uh, where are we anyway," you ask noone in particular.

It's Sergei who answers for you. "Jup'ter plan', in Yanov. We en't too far frum the station. Reckon we c'n crash there jus' fine t'night."

Q I can't ask from ingame knowledge alone and you probably won't answer but I want to ask anyway. If nothing else maybe someone will speculate: Why the hell did Kris and Vas keep stalking Loli after she was taken by the Monolith? Did they not realise? Did they know she would escape? Did they just blindly hope? I just don't get it.

They didn't? I'm not sure what to say without anything being a potential spoiler, but I can confirm that they weren't stalking you why you were under Monolith control.
>>
>>30120766
no idea how this anon got that impression, we only encountered them after moving to skadovsk, after breaking free of monolith control
>>
>>30121313
iirc we were being watched by something since the beginning (Ice's group I think?) which that anon may have gotten confused with the girls
>>
>>30121441
More specifically, 2 voices with a tone similar to theirs. I am even more interested in learning that wasn't them.
>>
The observers only tracked you until you were picked up by the Spetsnaz team outside Rostok.

You were next observed entering the sewer system after getting all your stuff stolen.

You were not observed at any period between those two points, including the weeks under Monolith control.
>>
>>30123332
Ah, but that was so shortly after escaping that it would take one hell of a coincidence for said observers to just run into us unless they were
a) watching us all along or
b) otherwise knew that we would escape as well as when or
c) an entirely new set of observers

I had first assumed it was option A. Knowing that it must be one of the others is definitely interesting to me. And yes, I am too invested in this plot for my own good.
>>
>>30124444
Seeing as we are the only Loli death machine in the zones history, I do believe we would attract attention and that c) is most likely.

Also, your shadowruns, untwist them.
>>
>>30124481
Perfectly likely that more people would stalk us, yes. That's why I even included it as an option despite the extreme similarity between pre-Monolith observer dialogs, the post-Monolith observer dialogs, and conversations with Kris & Vas themselves.

You've got the stressing on "introducing ourselves" well, you've got the optimist/pessimist duality with the latter generally being a practitioner of brevity, you've got the one figure observing through a sniper's scope, the stealthy avoidance of gendered pronouns...

I just feel like either it is all them OR Kaleun specifically set out to make me think it's all them only for it to turn out not to be.
>>
I didn't leave it alone, so I'm going to just post this one thing I had completely failed to connect previously.

We didn't forget, we've just been busy. Though it'd be fair to say that Loli probably forgot. Her attention span hasn't been spectacular so far. Note how she also has done next to nothing to investigate this whole monolith thing and why she was able to escape, despite the whole 'mind controlled murderslave' being a pretty nasty fate and one that she has absolutely no idea how to prevent. She hasn't even stopped to wonder if she can do anything to help not getting mind controlled again.
