Second thread!

Archive here:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30135546/

TLDR of Archive:
You are Leacim "The Headsman" Orgen, a male human Imperial Inquisitor on a mission to Korriban hunting a Force Sensitive in the name of the Empire.

You discovered intriguing ancient relics on Korriban that gave you minimal insight into the history of the Sith, but stopped yourself from becoming engrossed with the scholarly pursuit in favour of doing your job.

You entered the ruins of some building, and made your way to the eastern wing, where you activated a trap that's sealed you and your prey in this section of the ruins, for now.

--

You stand with your back to a wall, listening for sounds of your prey. The person has gone silent, for now, so you cautiously take a few steps, and use the Force to glide swiftly across the hallway leaving a slight breeze in your wake. You're in what looks like it used to be some sort of dormitory. The durasteel of the bed frame here, and crumbled remnants of a computer terminal are in this squarish section.

What do you do?

You stand from the terminal, convinced it's scrap or at least beyond your repair. You turn your attentions instead to the remains of the bed. Scraps of decaying cloth and broken durasteel, littered with pebbles are all that remains of what used to be a bed.

[PER Check DC18: 18] You move away scraps of rock and metal, but one thing catches your eye. [LUK Roll: 19] It's a small crystal, the kind that you were taught belongs in a lightsaber. You're not quite sure what kind it is, but you can feel that it's absorbed a great deal of dark energy from this place. You pocket it, satisfied with your little find.

You unclip your saber from your belt and creep your way through the halls, passing more of these cublicle bedrooms along the way. You tentatively touch out with your senses, and find that it doesn't help you here. There's too much energy and it's drowning out the individual's signature. Scrambling it, for lack of a better term.

You hear footsteps behind you, then in front of you. [PER Check DC14: 17] You see through the trick of echoing sound and spin around with your arm siff just in the right time to clothesline the person. You look down, and you can't determine race due to excessive clothing and head wrappings, but you do recognise breasts. A girl.

You take on your job professionally, seeing no reason to be particularly hostile or friendly to this female. As she catches her breath, you remove your gloves and facial mask and tuck them into one of your pockets, and then lower your hood. Every movement precise and smooth as if this were some sort of formal interview.

"Apologies for your discomfort," you say, looking down at her while she rises up on her elbows, "I hadto ensure my safety. Surely you understand." your tone and demeanour seems to temporarily confuse her. Enough to make her a little bit more receptive to anything you have to say. (Temporary +1 to CHA rolls).

"Now, could you please remove those unseemly layers of gear? It's very rude to remain so concealed when in conversation." [CHA Check DC10: 20] your tone, however polite and neutral, commands an authority that can only be gained through training as an Inquisitor. With an inimidated whimper and shakings hands, the girl removes the headwraps and reveals herself to be [select race].

The Mandalorian girl appears relatively pretty, as to be expected by someone who grew up peacefully, likely as the family gem rather than a farm worker. You're honestly surprised a girl like her is on a planet like this. You gesture for her to take a seat n the tatered cloths of old bedding behind her, and she shuffles over and sits there. You stand before her, summing her up. Her lack of hostility is to be expected considering her upbringing, but you know of her heritage and she could be a fierce warrior given the proper training.

"Tell me girl, what is your name?" you demand of her, to which she answers

"D-Dacyna..." she stammers out, her eyes wide in the face of an Imperial Inquisitor. You nod your understanding and run the name through your head a few times, memorising it.

You have many questions to ask, which do you choose?

"We should depart." you say, and she has little choice but to nod and stand, clutching her tiny blaster pistol to her chest.

You go to the collapsed tunnel and use a flick of your wrist to shove the rubble into the main chamber, where it sprawls out from its shape. Dacyna's eyes widen at the display, and you feel a sharp pain in your hand as if it had just been stabbed. There's nothing, however, except a higher concentration of dark energy around you. You really get the feeling you should be on your way. You raise your hood, dismissing the mask and gloves in favour of hurrying, and grab Dacyna around the waist. She looks like she's about ot object when you use the Force to jump up and out through the hole you entered through. You can see the sun setting, and the dust storm has lessened its ferocity. You can see the shuttle on the far side of the Valley, and the heads of ancient Sith statues are now visible. You feel a chill creep up your spine.

Why not both? We get to keep our cool and minimize the amount of time spent in the valley.

You grab your new ... guest, by the arm and walk calmly back through the Valley. You feel the souls of the Sith coming from everywhere, but you seal off your mind and wall their influence. You look back to see Dacyna looking ill and pale, and imagine she's taking the greater impact from the Sith spirits. You accelerate your pace to prevent her from sustaining any long-term damage and board the shuttle.

"Back to the Shadowfall, quickly." You say to the pilot, who takews the engines from standby to full roar and you're gliding off-world at a quick pace. It takes a few moments, but Dacyna returns to her sheepish self. You hang your effects on the wall of the shuttle and shoot her a glance. She meets your gze and averts hers, not wanting to sustain prolonged eye contact with you.

After a few minutes, you arrive on the Shadowfall.

You stand before her, your stance still the image of calm and precision. You look to her yet again, and she shifts but looks curious to what will happen next. You begin to recite the lines as though they were read off a legal document.

"Dacyna," you start, and her attention is now affixed to you, "You are hereby suspected of being a Force Sensitive, though whether you are aware or not of said fact is unknown at present." you pause, and her brow furrows in confusion. She doesn't know what you're talking about, that's good. That means she'll fight less.

"Following are a equence of questions and tests that will prove my suspicions. Afterward your loyalties will be tested. Following this series of trials, you will be released according to Imperial Inquisitorum protocols. Is this undersood?" you punctuate with the question, which snaps her drifting mind back to atention and she nods.

It might be worth our while to explore the Crypts more thoroughly once we've established the girl's identity and abilities.

The force ghosts sent us kind of packing. They would probably drive troopers mad. If we want some impromptu archaeology done, we'll have to do it personally.

The first question that comes to mind is

"What were you doing on Korriban?" you ask, wondering why a farm girl would go there of all places. Dacyna stammers, but finally gets an answer out.

"I-I was hiding..." she says, and you ask the obvious.

"What from?"

"...People... not like you. Powerful non-military people..." she trails off. The subject is obviously tragic somehow, but you must know the truth.

"What kind of people? Rebels? Insurrectionists?" you probe, and she bites her lip to hold tears at bayi n your presence. Her frail nature makes her fail cataclysmically, but a touch of the Force from you gives her the will to speak through her tears.

"P-people my brother got involved with," she takes a hsaky breath to quell her sobs, "they took my mother and him, k-killed our.. our fath... fa..." she breaks down again and you nod simply, understanding. Likely Hutts or the Exchange got involvedi n her family. It was one of many things the Empire was no longer capable of handling with the Rebellion eating away at resources.

You wait a few moments for her to recover, and then poced with your questioning. You were going to ask about her family, but you have no interest in dealing with syndicates at present so you disregard that.
>[...]
>>
>[...]
"How did you get to Korriban?" you ask her, and she looks a bit like she was caught. She stammers and stalls. You give her a stern look.

"You will tell me how you got to Korriban." you tell her, using the weight of the Force and the weak state of her mind to trick her into spilling the information.

"An Alliance shuttle was on-world when my family was attacked. I asked for transport, they agreed, we were raided by pirates who had their way with me then dumped me on Korriban." she says, then looks confused to what she just blurted out. You nod, then take a moment to cross-check facts.

"If you were abandoned, then how were you intentionally hiding there?" you ask her, finding her lack of contiuity disturbing.

"I-it seemed like a place nobody would find me, so I hid in the ruins." she says, her stammer clearing up but her nerves still shaking. You eye her, and she shrinks, but her eyes do not betay a lie. You nod.

"Who else was in the ruins with you?" you ask her, playing a common trick to glean more informaion. She freezes, but insteado fl ooking shocked she looks utterly confused.

"What?" she asks you.

>What do you say?
>>
>>30148809

Well, there's some motivation in her that should make her receptive to our teachings. We just have to convince her that she should stop being sad and become MAD instead. As in Angry mad, not insane mad.

Seductions of the dark side: commence.

She is strong. We can feel it. Does she remember how we moved mountains in Academy? She could do that to people who hurt her!
>>
>>30148829

>Press the issue

She may know something about the ghosts, even if she doesn't realize it.

"Who else was there with you? Remember, Dacyna."
>>
>>30148829
>slap her
"what else was in the runs? did you notice anything unusual? spare no details no matter how insignificant?"

can we probe her mind to see if any sith spirits are hiding in the little shit's vacuous head?
>>
>>30148875
Pretty fucking perfect for the darkside. We can tell her that without the strenght of the Empire other people will suffer her family's fate. That the rebels will abandon the people like they did her. An we can give her the strenght to avenge herself.
>>
>>30148906
That's decidedly hostile and aggressive considering actions thus far. A bit out of character, no?
>>
>>30148829

"You were not alone in the ruins. Couldn't you feel it? Sense the powerful spirits all around you?"
>>
>>30148921

It's a pretty important thing that she was drawn to the ruins of the Academy as well. She can definitely be made to serve the Dark Side.
>>
>>30148829
Did you hear whispers? Have you ever seen things like in a fdream, but awake?

option 1: a troll
>outrageous, ridiculous suggestion delivered deliberately to provoke emotional response

option 2: roleplayer of a chaotic stupid character

option 3: genuine psychopath
>why are you looking at me? This makes perfect sense...

You take a moment in her lowered guard to feel her connection to the Force. It is weaker, but it is there. You imagine it was ravaged on Korriban, and the only thing that kept her alive may have been her emotions for her family.

"You were not alone in those ruins. Could you not feel it?" you ask her, attempting to make her realise her feelingsof her own accord. She looks thoughtful, and you can nearly taste the revelations.

"Who else was there with you, Dacyna? Think hard." you insist, and she gets a glazed look over her eyes.

"There were... people... about my age..." she says, as if she were having difficulty remembering a dream.

"Go on." you say, wondering if it has anything to do with Lashowe and the other grey-uniformed youths.

"I... only remember images. An Academy, people... there are words but they're too fuzzy to recall." she says. You nod in understanding and let the issue lie. She appears to have had visions, and maybe even interacted with the spirits themselves. Looking back, she's quite fortunae to still be sane.

you realise that she must be of strong will, and that the true Mandalorian blood must run thick in her. You allow the corner of your lip to raise in the faintest of grins.

What do you do?
>Attempt to sway her to the Dark Side now, with promises of power and vengeance.
>Let her recover, and win her trust through more patient means, garnering her trust and converting her through subtle manipulation.
>Other?
>>
>>30149221
let her recover, win her trust

the last thing we need is a little brat running around on our ship drunk on the dark side
>>
>>30149221

>Let her recover, and sway her slowly.

"Dacyna, you have survived a terrible ordeal. But most importantly, you have found a teacher and demonstrated your worthiness. Will you accept my teachings, and become powerful enough to defend yourself - powerful enough to protect the ones you love?"

If yes, say "Your training will begin tomorrow at 9." Send her to the medbay for a check-up, ensure that she is cared for, etc etc.

Tomorrow, we teach her the basics of protecting her mind from unwanted intrusion. After we feel she's competent, we can return to Korriban and explore the Academy.
>>
>>30149221
>Let her recover, and sway her slowly.
Her strong will is something we want her to keep, so it can serve us. Getting drunk on the darkside is a bad idea in any case, you just end up in the galactic equivalent of a car crash.
>>
>>30149221

Be patient.
Dark side is best side, she'll figure it soon enough.

Thirded.

Although do not make it seem like she has a choice in the matter. Simply state that she is a student now. She will obey, and in return will grow in strength.

>inb4 we go overboard and train a Jedi
>>
>>30149439
>train a jedi

it would be hilarious if this happened, but she was still fanatically loyal to us
>>
>>30149439

Giving her the illusion of choice would go a long way to get her to trust us.

She's on the run, been assaulted, attacked by pirates, and has been sheltering in a tomb haunted by Sith ghosts for probably more than a few days.

Some basic kindness would go a long way, I think.

Anyways, if she's loyal to us, who gives a fuck about her alignment?
>>
>>30149439
I can agree with that. Just want to be a evil guy that avoids getting addicted to the darkside. Killing your men every time you stub your toe is cathartic, but you always pay for it in the end.

You consider her, and what to do with her for awhile. You lace your words with the Force not to control her mind but to give extra emphasis to your meaning. If she truly wants to resist, she can.

"I offer you a place here," you say, gesturig around you at the room, "a haven from the foolish Rebels and dangerous criminals. You can become strong with me as your teacher." you say, and you see the contemplation in her eyes as she watches you. The way she ries to figure out if it's a trick, or a ploy to manipulate her. You wonder if thosep irates offered the same thing.

"Do not mistake me, Dacyna," you say, "I make no vies for your mind, or to utterly control you as people seem to think the Empire does. We are, at our core, only trying to keep the peace in this galaxy. Similarly, I am merely offering to guide you to become what is already inside you, waiting to be unlocked." you carefully select every word, making the most of your sentences for maximum effect. She seems to be leaning closer to you. A good sign.

"Please accept, young one, and I will help you to protect yourself, and we may prevent others from sharing the same fate as your family." the last portion seems to click the final piece into place. You offer her a hand. [CHA Check DC6: 17]

>[...]
>>
>[...]
She accepts it, and rises to stand before you.

"I accept whatever you have to teach me." she says. You clasp her hand under your other hand and hold it there and nod. Then you release her and snap your fingers. The door opens and the two Stormtroopers walk in and flank her.

"These two will escort you around the Shadowfall until you are sufficiently oriented. Merely request a destination and they will guide you." you look to them as well as you speak, and they click their heels and present their rifles in a salute, acknowledging your orders.

"I recommend getting yourself cleaned and fed. Your traiing will begin tomorrow at eight thirty, by the ship's clock." you say. You found it easier to have a timezone aboard the Shadowfall than to go by whatever the local system time was.

"I will be either on the bridge or in my personal chambers should you need to speak with me." you nod to her andthe Stormtroopers, and they lead her out to the medical bay for a check-up.

What do you do now?
>Go to the Bridge, and get out of this system
>Go to your Meditation Chamber and use the nearby planet as a conduit for your contemplation.

>>30149921
>inb4 she becomes the ship's pet

>Meditation Chamber

>Go to your Meditation Chamber and use the nearby planet as a conduit for your contemplation.

this isn't an opportunity we have every day.
>>

Oh yeah that to (any chance we can go to Dantooine and raid the Crystal cave)
>>
>>30149921
>You found it easier to have a timezone aboard the Shadowfall than to go by whatever the local system time was.

"Behold young apprentice the we have conquered time itself!"

>meditation chamber, as dangerous as the planet is, their might be other useful things we missed
>>
>>30149921

>Meditate for a while, contemplate on the ghosts of Korriban's academy.
>>
>>30149967
>>30149921

I support that.
>Meditation and check out the crystal
>>
>>30149921
meditate, then maybe explore the ruins. get a feel for your sith roots.
>>
Unanimous decision: Meditate and examine crystal.

You make your way through the ship back to your mediation chamber. Once there, you take the crystal out and set it in front of where you normally sit, then take your seat. You close your eyes and open your senses, and the conduitsi n the chamber channel the energy from Korriban, but then something different happens. The energy conducts through the crystal before channeling through you. The small, now blood-coloured crystal floats in front of you and you can filter and channel the emotions of the fallen Sith that are entering your chanber and flowing through your mind. As it connects to you, the crystal's hue changes from blood-coloured to a gold colour, darker than your current yellow saber crystal.

Curious, you focus only on the crystal, and open your eyes to look at it while you do so. It whispers to you, in a language you cannot have ever heard. You can feel its intentions, though. It seeks to b reunited with someone... something... in your mind i translates one word.

"Holocron."
[That's exactly 1000 characters. Cool, eh?]

I'll make the archive and post the link to the tag on here, then take my leave. See you tonight if you're here.
