Welcome back ladies and gents to the Infinite Legacy quest!

The story thus far (Archive):
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Infinite%20Legacy%20Quest

The story thus far (Short version):
You are Leacim Orgen, an Imperial Inquisitor loyal to what's left of the Galactic Empire in part, but mostly to yourself. You recently tracked down a force sensitive to Korriban, where you discovered ancient secrets and a Mandalorian girl with the perfect tragedy to enlist her to your side. You brought her to your your ship, the V-II SD "Shadowfall", where she's currently receiving medical treatment.

On the world, you discovered a crystal. Upon examining it in meditation you found that it wants you to seek a holocron. And so the story continues...

You open your eyes from your meditations, and stand with the crystal in hand. You pocket it again, and tighten your white dress gloves to your hands. You feel rejouvenated after that short meditation session, and so you turn to the door.

What shall you do?

>Check on Dacyna
>Go to the armoury and tinker with yourl ightsaber to affix the new crystal within it
>Go to the bridge and chart a new destination

Side note: Which, if any light-saber style do we use?
I vote Vaapad if its an option

I'd go with Vaapad as well. Its a very interesting style and how we learned it could provide backstory. It wasn't exactly common.
>>
>>30156540
I know Shi-Cho but what is Vaapad?
>>
>>30156691
Windu's style. It's supposedly the closest a Jedi can get to falling to the Dark Side without actually being evil or whatever.
If I recall, improper use /can/ lead to the Dark Side, as was the case with Windu's friend, or student, or something.

You stretch briefly and head to the bridge, ready to leave Korriban -- at least for now. Along the way, you have a decision to make. Where shall you go?

>Dantooine -- Lightsaber crystal cave an relatively Foce neutral. Would be a pleasant place to train Dacyna
>Mustafar -- Volcanic terrain and treacherous climes would make trainig here a do or die, but there's little else of interest here except some residual Dark energy from Vader's acts.
>Kashyyyk -- While seemingly peaceful, the Shadowlands deep in the forest would make an excellent training ground.

With his friend and also with his student (who was also a friend and a member of the jedi council in her own right at that point). Supposedly only four people knew that particular variation, but I could make a good case of three of them teaching us directly or more probably indirectly given our age. Or Palatine stole the holicron and taught it to use for reasons.
>>
>>30156833
Wouldn't Kashyyyk be Republic controlled at this point?
Any minor imperial base we could visit with challenging terrain?
>>
>>30156833
Dantooine I suppose. Kashyyk is too.. Rebellious...
>>
>>30156908
IIRC Windu's home planet is nasty as hell, and has a decent number of force sensitives. Granted, that was back in the clone wars, so the Emperor might have "corrected" that since.

You can suggest more planets if you like. I just pulled some well-known ones out of the hat but there's plenty of other choices.

>>

I had an idea. What if we travel and train her on a sort of pilgrimage?

A pilgrimage to where there have been disturbances in the force. She has already survived on Korriban for a time so we move on to Dantooine and from there we pick another planet and so on.
>>

Eh, I kinda want to go warlord as well.

Unless you're Quinlan Vos. Then you're so badass, you learn Vaapad from the guy who developed it with Windu that did Fall to the Dark Side, but totally are better then him and don't fall to the Dark Side and go on to survive the Purge because nobody's as fucking awesome as you.
Because you're Quinlan Fucking Vos.
>>

Let's kill him.
>>
>>30157112
Wet.
>>
>>30157248
You'd have a better chance of killing Galen Marek. Quinlan Vos is the kind of man who gets hit with a blast from a Tank, gets called out my a Clone Commander holding a village hostage, kills him despite wounds from aforementioned tank blast, and then walks into the fucking Forest Floor on Kashyyyk and survives.
If we ever run into Vos, the only smart move is to learn from his ass.

To be fair, he does nothing after that. Seriously, his story just ends after order 66. If you really want to be scared of someone, be afraid of the miracle kid with one months formal training.

You decide, and enter the bridge without missing a step.

"Halmsman!" you call out, stepping up to the viewport and looking to your left at Korriban. You give it avenomous gaze for the brief pause between your shout and the return of "Yes, my Lord!"

"Set a course for Dantooine! It's a good place to ease the Acolyte to her new lifestyle." you command, hich is followed by an obedient "Yes, my Lord" and a flurry of activity as the ship is turned, vectors are charted out, and hyperspace coordinates are punched in. Behind you you hear a feminine cough that sounds throughout the bridge. You turn and see your new protege standing there, dressed in a black Imperial dress uniform with a crimson half-cape adorning her shoulder. Her pale hair is in a tight bun on her head, and she lacks the cap due to her lack of actual Imperial position and rank. Overall she's cleaned up nicely, and looks like she could pass as a young Leiutenant in the Imperial Navy.

"You clean up nicely, Dacyna." you offer, and she gives a little smile at the closest thing to a compliment one may expect from an Imperial official. You lok around and, noting there is nowhere to sit, look into the pit of the bridge and speak loud enough for the technicians to hear.

"Send for a table, two chairs, and some tea." you command, the standard response is heard as background noise. You gesture for the young Mandalorian girl to join you and she walks over to you, the Stormtrooper escort flanking the Bridge's door as they continue their guard and escort order.

"You had best brace yourself." you comment. She looks momentarily confused, then the Shadowfall lurches in such a manner that she, unprepared for the jump, falls forward and the Star Destroyer launches itself into hyperspace. She stands and straightens a hair that fell out of place.

The table and chairs arrive shortly after, and you both take your sets. Tea is poured by a man wearing a formal suit rather than Imperial dress clothes, and then he hurries off. You take a sip of tea and look over your cup to her. She tentatively takes a cup and blows on it to cool it. You set your cup down.

"How do you feel about the ship, so far?" you ask her. She jumps at your voice, but her force sensitivity allows her to capture the tea back in her cup rather than spill it everywere. You steeple your fingers before your face in interest, then she speaks.

"The crew has been nice to me, I suppose," she says. She's obviously not sure where Imperial conduct ends and personal interest begins on this ship, "I was shown my quarters, and it's... nice." she tells you. You take a brief glimpse over her feelings through the Force and can tell she's becoming homesick.

"I understand you miss your home," you say, "but rest assured your decision to join me will allow you to avenge your family and ensure the security of the galaxy." you say. It's a bit of mixed propaganda and comfort, but it appears to do the job. She visibly lightens up and takes a sip of the tea... a bit too big of a sip, and burns her mouth slightly. You take another graceful sip of your beloved tea, and in just the right way that it doesn't scald.

"So do you have any questions for me, while we're in transit to your first training ground?" you ask her, the sentence punctuated by another sip. She thinks for a little while, then asks you what you suspected she would since you didn't impale her on the ground.

"Why didn't you kill me?" she asks.

"It is my job," you start, and she looks at you curiously, "to seek out Force sensitives and bring them to the Empire. It is my goal to show them the true nature of their power and guide them to be functioning members of the Empire, for the good of the galaxy." you say, then look up at her. You see she seems a bit depresed that she's just another mark on your tally, and after another sip of tea you continue.

"The same thing happened to me, you know," you say and she looks a little confused, as if she imagind you just one day spawned into the world as a... whatever you are, "I was found by an elder Inquisitor who brought me to Lord Vader. He saw that I was fit for the profession and after a long, hard life of training I finally was granted the role and rank of Inquisitor." you offer her a smile, and she returns it, thouh she seems unsure of how to take your words.

"In short, we are not so different in our beginnings, you and I." you say with a punctuating sip. This seems to give her some sort of feeling of alikeness, and she looks less depressed. You nod to yourself and sip your tea again.

You stand as you finish your tea, and gesture for her to follow.

"Come along, young one. I must teach you a basic principle before you learn anything." you say. She stands and you waste no time waiting for her. as you stride through the bridge to your destination. She followsclose behind, having a little bit of trouble keeping up with your long strides, but she doesn't complain. Shortly, you arive at the entrance to the meditation chamber.

"This is the meditation chamber," you say, and you open the door to reveal the stone-lined room with minimal lighting and intricate channelsetched into the walls and the five columns surrounding a central platform, "you will now learn the subtle art of meditation, and how to use it effectively. In the hands of a master, meditation can prove more restful and rejouvenating than conventional sleep." you offer her enter first, and she accepts and enters the room. You enter behind her and the Stormtroopers resume their guarding of the room.

You both stand on the platform, and you sit. She mirrors your movements and posture. You wordlessly close your eyes, and she does the same, and your world is immediately wrapped by he energies of the Force. Here in hyperspace, where the energy is shifting too quickly to get a lock on your surroundings, there are two options. Feel the entire galaxy, or feel the ship's crew. The latter being the easier. You decide to teach her the basics for now.
>[...]
>>
>[...]
"Relax your body and mind," you whisper. Your voice is more than audible in the sound-proofed chamber. Only the sounds of breathing and your whispers may be heard for her, and for you... you are able to hear everything through the Force. She attempts to follow your instructions.

"Focus on what's around you, open your consciousness to the feather whispers that call to you." you say, and she seems to begin to understand. Her presence within the Force grows stronger than before, and you can sense her emotions taking a turn toward curiosity.

"Good," you say, "Allow yourself toenter this new realm. See the world as you have not seen it." you say. You can now fully sense her through the Force, and she has taken the first step toward being a Force User. [Dacyna gained power: Sense Force]

The two of you meditate for the entire journey, you acting as an anchor for her to come back to when her curosity takes her on the fringes of her abilities, and the danger of losing herself in the Force becomes greater. You are disturbed by a soft tapping on the door, but ou already felt the presnce of a planet before then and were coaxing your Acolyte out of her meditative state.

You nod to greet her, and gesture for her to enter the shuttle. She enters, followed by you, followed by the pilot who takes you down to the middle of a prairie on Dantooine.

Even such a peaceful world has its predators, and a challenge is exactly what a fledgling Inquisitor needs.

"I have a test for you, Dacyna." you tell her, then gesture far down the plains where a few large hills roll. You request a speeder, which is promptly delivered by shuttle. You mount it, and she hops on the back, and you drive to the hills.

It takes a few minutes, but you arive at the hills. Some of them are cut downthe middle and may be cave entrances, but for now you have prey in mind. You slide through the glass swiftly, and [PER Check DC10: 10] step back in time for a stalker lizard to fly through the air where you would have been. You catch it in mid air with the force and throw it off into the distant hills somewhere.

"Insolent creature..." you mutter under your breath before continuing on your way. Dacyna remains silent, but you can feel her watching your every movement and behaviour, absorbing them like a sponge. Eventually, you find what you were looking for. A large footprint that crushes the grasses and sink into the ground. The trail goes in both directions, and leads to your right.

You look back to Dacyna and explain.

"Here, this is what we were looking for." you tell her. She looks, but seems puzzled. You explain.

"Graul tracks. They're similar to Rancors, and should prove a challenge for you. Here," you say, then procure a sidearm from your belt that you had commissioned in case something happened to your lightsaber. It's a vibroblade that extends and retracts at the press of a button, like a melee lightsaber.

"This will be your weapon until you construct your own saber." you tell her. She nods and presses the bottun, and the blade segments extend and lock into a solid blade faster than a normal person would be able to follow. She looks amazed.

"Come." you say, and lead her on the trail of the Graul. Soem minutesw pass, and you see the hulking figure hunched over a small pile of Iriaz corpses.

"Approach and take it on as you see fit," you instruct, "Your potential will be tested. Use your feelings and allow your body to do what comes naturally." you tell her. She looks frightened, and unsure if you are going to help if she can't handle the task, but she steels herself for the given task. She crouches low to the grass like a predator, closing in her approach. [AGI Check DC15: 2] She proves to be too inexperienced however, and the Graul turns around a lets out a roar. [END Check DC15: 12] Dacyna is dazed by the sound, and the Graul closes in on her in that time. She shakes it off and goes to jump out of the way [AGI Checl DC14: 3] but is grabbed by the creature. You unclip your lightsaber, not liking the way this is going so far, [STR Check DC12: 25] but the Mandalorian blood truly comes out in Dacyna.

She grabs her sword and thrusts it into the Grul's hand, causing it to drop her. From there she propels herself toward it, then uses her sword like a climber's pick to climb the Graul until she's straddling its head. She rises up to kneel, and then thrusts into its skull with all her might, piercing the thick bone and driving it into the beast's brain. She clutches to the sword as it thrashes, but when it falls, it is surely dead.

Impressed, you stand and clip your lightsaber back to your belt. You certainly didn't foresee that kind of outcome.
