Cool. Re-post incoming:

First, since we are founding some sort of darkside organization, I figure an overview of non Jedi/Sith organizations will be useful in case we want to recruit wholesale rather than retail. Most of this information is from an IC perspective:

Ember of Vahl: Old darkside group primarily composed of the Valhala species. Nomadic, they serve as pirates and bounty hunters while constantly searching for their lost homeworld. Really, really hate the Jedi because of past history and some helped out during the Jedi Purge. Presumably given their activities with the Empire our Inquisitor would have at least some knowledge of them due to his job and may have worked with one or more of them in the past.

Shapers of Kro Var: A darkside group that is primarily based on their home planet Kro Var. Relatively primitive, they are divided, and superstitious. Their techniques revolve around using the force to imitate benders from Avatar, with the best of them being able to wield all four elements. This group was known to the Old Republic Order, although they did not seem to be aware that it was a darkside group. As a result, Palpatine almost certainly had access to records of their existence and location though whether this was passed along to Inquisitor Leacim is unknown.
>>
>>30213119

Matukai: Light side group that uses the force to empower their own body and fight with a polarm. One of the first non-Jedi organizations targeted by the purge and the inquisition some survived and went into hiding. Given that they were a primary target of the inquisition, the Inquisitor Leacim likely knows about them, though we may not know some of them are still around.

Jal Shey: An ancient Light aligned group notable for being highly successful diplomats and master armorers. Despite the large overlap in mission between the two groups, the Jedi and Jal Shey always maintained a cordial relationship. They had nomadic tendencies, moving from one place that could improve their understanding of the force to the next. During the Jedi Purge they were considered as a possible candidate for attack, although it is unknown if they were targeted. They are probably the single most powerful lightside group in existence at the present time, and as such Inquisitor Leacim is almost certainly well aware of their existence although not their location. (Yes, these are the guys that make all the cool Jedi armor in KOTOR)

Baran Do Sages: An extremely obscure light side group based entirely on the homeworld of the Kel Dor people. An ancient tradition that experienced decline after the Kel Dor encountered the more knowledgeable Jedi it still survives in small numbers even in the present day. Despite being unknown even amongst even the Kel Dor it was still known to the old Jedi order, as Plo Koon was both a member of the jedi council and a member of their order, showing that the relationship between the two organizations was still very cordial despite the Jedi being the cause of the Baran Do decline. They are less militant than the Jedi but are still extremely capable when using force techniques. The Empire, and by extension Inquisitor Leacim has no knowledge of their existence, allowing their few members to escape the purge unharmed.

>>30213137
Jensaarai: Grey Aligned group notable for its hatred of the Jedi. The founding of this group is unknown to Imperial records with the first mention of their existence being when a single member approached Darth Vader and offered to assist in the extermination of the Jedi shortly after the execution of order 66. Vader sensed only the light side of the force in him and decided to kill him, a task Vader found trivial. Further encounters with Imperial agents have shown that despite Jensaarai’s Sith name their members are at best half trained when compared to their Jedi or Sith counterparts. Their small numbers, focus on their homeworld of Susevfi, hatred of the Jedi and semi competent nature have caused them to be effectively ignored by the Jedi purges despite their occasional attacks on the local Imperial Garison. Despite their untrained nature, they do appear to have an interesting tradition of well-designed personalized armor possibly on par with the Jal Shey. As an active force organization hostile to the Empire Inquisitor Leacim is certainly aware of their existence and location. Furthermore, the treachery of Darth Vader allows an opportunity for the Empire to disown their hostility towards the Jensaarai if they so choose. Based on Susevfi, which is actually quite close to Degobah and is currently Empire controlled.

>Dacyna: Try and converse with the Imperials
You nervously nudge your fork around again, then open your mouth to say something but all that comes out is a sigh. You have no idea what to say, what to do. You feel like you're under so much pressure you might just burst. [END Check DC13: 9 // CHA Check DC15: 16]

You're mentally growing further unstable, to the point where the nervousness is making your hands shake andsweat bead up on your brow, but you manage to choke down the erratic mental behaviour and say something with some kind of meaning to it.

"So how long have you all been on this ship?" you ask, pretty much to any of them who'll listen. Kadan is the first to speak.

"Almost since launch about ten years ago. That was before Lord Orge--" he's cut off by Pontus, who nearly launches himself at you.

"This ship? THIS SHIP?" he says, outraged for no apparent reason, "This lovely woman's name is the Shadowfall, and you'd do well to remembe-!!" he's cut off my Leacim.

"Calm yourself, Lann, or I shall have to do so on your behalf." he says cooly, in the professional manner that leaves you wondering what he's thinking on the inside. Pontus looks sheepish and relaxes his shoulders. Your mentor nods, and looks to Hevan to continue the meet-and-greet.

"Lord Orgen selected me to be his helmsman upon his ownership of the Shadowfall." he says. [PER Check DC7: 4 // INT Check DC7: 6] There's something about his tone you can't quite pin, no matter how you look at it. Finally, the only other woman at the table speaks.

"I've been signed on since the last Chief Gunnery Officer died. That was about six months ago, so I'm new to *this ship*" she stresses the last two words in obvious defiance to the Chief Engineering Officer, who white-knuckles his napkin.

They seem like a... cheerful bunch, you think uncertainly.

After Degobah. Though yeah, they seem like the best force organization for recruitment/subversion. Side question: do your KOTOR characters use Jal Shey armor?
>>
>>30213412

I guess it would be a thing on the inquisitor's to-do list, although I'm not sure how high.

Did we get any sort of communication from whoever is in charge of imperial remnants at this time, or are they arguing among themselves, or perhaps not wanting to attract attention of a force user they might be afraid would usurp their power (which might also be a thing to do)
>>
>>30213475
Jal Shey armour doesn't exist in KotOR 1, so no. In KotOR2, I often find myself debating the pros and cons of the slight buffs of Jedi Robes or th outright protection of the armour.
>>
>>30213488
You're pretty much cut off from communication with the Empire -- and your reason is pretty cool. With Coruscant about to fall there would be a lot of in-fighting, and a Force User would certainly screw things up for the Moffs.

That's pretty hardcore. He must have gotten some hella high rolls.
>>
>>30213632
It's not based on rolls, he had a specialised task force and a healthy dose of Imperial influence so he basically pulled the "I outrank you" card and had her executed for treason or something like that.

He's excellent at plotting.

It's also not dice-based, and doesn't have governing DMs/GMs/etc.

He does roll for a lot of his decisions, though.

That's... somehow even more hardcore. Shit, son, I want him on my side.
>>
Oh I remember now.

He replaced her guards with soldiers loyal to him, then infiltrated her office, and basically sat her down with a small squad of his personal guards pointing blasters at her, and had her pass orders that were treasonous. After the damage was done, he had her executed and replaced her, taking leadership of the Empire.
>>
You look over to Pontus, who is positively fuming, and softly clear your throat to catch his attention.

"I... apologise, Chief Lann, for the error. I will ensure I refer to this shi-- the Shadowfall by... her... proper name in the future." you say nervously. [CHA Check DC10: 12]

"Very well." he says curtly [PER Check DC6: 9], but you can see him visibly calm down. This settles your nerves somewhat. You then turn to Siara, who seemsto be on your side.

"So you're the newest here?" you ask, and she looks over to you and nods.

"So how long does it take to get used to all this?" you ask her, hoping for some insight. You're having a hard time adjusting, so maybe asking the second newest crewmember would help you out.

"Honestly kiddo," she says, obviously used to talking with the gunners and not being at a formal dinner (that or she doesn't respect you), "your world is a lot different than mine. You're a pick-up by Lord Orgen here, where I've been an Imperial soldier near my entire life." she says. You nod. You'd hoped you'd get morei nformation from her than that, but it looks like you're on your own.

A bell chimes at the entrance to the bridge, and several people dressed in non-military formal atire bring covered dishes and dinner plates and silverware and tea and a ll manner of things. [PER Check DC5: 14] You see their faces, and their mannerisms and stance, and you reason that they're Stormtroopers that were told to dress up and serve dinner. You suppress a chuckle at how awful they must feel. A voice in the back of your head tells you to be less childish, and when you look over to see if Leacim's looking at you, you see he's engrossed with his tea.

Now that everything's settled down, you pick up your fork and knife and gently cut into your cood and eat it as Leacim showed you some time earlier. You find that not just digging in takes some concentrated effort, but the effort is appreciated by the Imperials at the table. While you're oblivious in your concentration, Leacim notices and nods his approval.

"Should she survive to the end of her training, she'll do quite well." you think to yourself as you nibble on your food.

"You should meditate." you tell her. She looks up at you, and you can see that the dinne has made her come out a little more than she went in. You suspect she's become more aware of things. She nods to you and says,

"Yes, mentor." for the first time before she goes off to her quarters. You stand there and nod to yourself. Things are coming along well. You walk through the sudden mob of staff cleaing up the dinner's remains and putting away the dining table and chairs, and make your way back through the meditation chamber and to your room. You take off the cloak and your heavy coat leaving you in a basic shirt, your slacks, and your boots.

Now that you're comfortable for the first time in a few days, what shall you do?

You touch the dot for the hangar bays, and the ship's display rotates so you'e facing the belly of the ship, then zooms in so you can see the details listed out.

The Shadowfall's complement is certainly better than an average Star Destroyer. At the expense of a number of ground assault vehicles, you have twice the number (48) of TIE fighters. These aren't common TIE/LN fighters, either, they're the latest TIE/AD fighters that were a blend of the best features of the TIE fighter series. You have 5 AT-ATs on board, and 15 AT-STs. All but one Juggernaut has been removed, and you have two shuttles: A Lambda-class shuttle and a Sentinel-class landing craft are all that remain of your shuttle complement.

The reaosn for all this reduction was to make room for your personal freighter, a [select ship] by the name of [suggest name]

I have idea what we could reasonably get but we are most likely no going to be transporting and selling things since we Inquisitor, so on that basis we want to increase our ENGINE POWER, SHIELD POWER and WEAPON POWER. Finally, most expensively, we want to inlay our hull with some manner of expensive stealth crystals. Not the kind that makes you full on double blind, just the kind that helps you slip into perfect darkness if you shut down all engines.
>>
>>30216024
Welp, obviously we need a ray shield, something stronger than what would normally be added to the civilian-standard 1760, but not so much that it's a heavy drain on the power core. A dedicated communications suite is in order, as well as ECM equipment. As for armament, I'm thinking quadlasers. Yeah, they're cliche, but they're popular for a reason. One set each, ventral and dorsal. If we're feeling adventurous, maybe light turbolasers instead?
>>
>>30216024
>YT-1760
Okay, reading from my list:
Experimental Imperial Shield generators
Non Reflective Hull, with nano smart paint allowing us to change its visual appearance.
Cloaking field
Advanced sensors
False transponder system (each setting has a meticulous back-story in Imperial systems that ranges from impeccable to direputable.)
Hyperdrive
Jammer
2 light turbo-laser cannons
2 Concealed multi munition launcher (proton, concussion, ect)
Tractor beam
Concealed A wing starfighter (It may be rebel scum, but its fast and small)
AI piloting system. Tends to refer to us as a meatbag, but its skill is enough to let us ignore that.
>>
>>30216270
>>30216259
Looks like we're mostly in agreement. However, seeing as this is only about 8ABY, cloaking systems are FAR too large to be effectively installed in small freighters like this. I was on the fence about suggesting kinetic munitions, but I guess we might as well if the Empire's footing the bill
>Concealed A-Wing
I don't think you quite understand how small this thing is... An A-Wing would be, like, half again as large as our ship itself. It's just not feasible.
>>
>>30216270
I like the AI pilot.

Let me inform you about Turbolasers, though.

They're slow, and hard to lock-on. Quad laser batteries are better because of how fast you'd move etc, but turbolasers you'd have to fight like a Star Destroyer: Stand still and launch volleys. You can't really do that, so turbolasers on a small ship aren't really... smart.

Unless you plan on attacking starships, where the accuracy doesn't mater because of how big your target is?
>>
as far as the concealed A-Wing, an A-Wing is about 10m long, and the ship is about 27m long. If you can draw me a picture of how it'd work be my guest, but as is it's a little... weird.

I think the A wing is much smaller than that. It's one of the smallest star fighters in existence.
>>
>>30216419
>A sidecar
Then how is it concealed?
>>
>>30216270
I like the list but a few changes:

A.I. piloting system that does not call us a meatbag.

Get rid of the star fighter and put our own personal land speeder.

A small concealed room that has one or two "cells" for if we have to transport people who might not want to come with us.
>>
>>30216419
Yeah... that would entirely defeat the purpose of stealthing our already unstealthy freighter. It'd just add to our RCS, and be more mass that we have to spend more fuel to move through space.

>>30216445
>Darth Maul had a cloaking device
We don't talk about those movies...
Got me there, though.
>>
>>30216446
I'll admit, my original suggestion for the A wing was for the Horizon-class star yacht which does have room for that.
>>
>>30216452

This makes sense.

How about carbonite freezing facility? How small can those get?
>>
>>30216476

Aren't personal cloaks a thing in the old republic era as well?
>>
>>30216452

I support that.
>>
>>30216500
Nah, dog, I think that's a bit overboard...

>>30216493
Well... we don't exactly have a Horizon...

>>30216520
Sheeit nigga I dunno, I was just going off of my sketchy memory of what I've read.
>>
>>30216500
You could have a carbonite generator and a way to shoot it out, those can pretty small. No facilities like Han Solo gig though, so frozen would be frozen.

>>30216452
I approve of landspeeder. Shall I pull up different models for you to choose?

>>30216476
>>30216520
Sith Infiltrators... no clue how those work. An Imperial said that the Millenium Falcon was too small to have a cloaking device, but Infiltrators are smaller. Personal cloak belts are a thing in KotOR, though.
>>
>>30216532
>Well... we don't exactly have a Horizon...
Yeah, I'm kinda grumpy that we decided the ship before I managed to run down the references I was looking for.
>>
>>30216452
Okay, I like those changes to the list.

>>30216500
Maybe not on our ship, but we should look into installing one of them on our capital ship.

Easy. Go with old faithful.

ARATECH 74·Z MILITARY SPEEDER BIKE

Who need fancy when you have efficient!

I like >>30216576 suggestion of having the whole carbonite thing on the Shadowfall.
>>
>>30216655
>Those force sensetive who don't join us get a fatal injury, but before they die we set them up in poses and freeze them.

Strangely I do no mind this.

We'll get to upgrading Shadowfall later.

Does the improved energy generator include a convenient unshielded coolant vent, or was that copyrighted by our late employer?

Also Nameless sound pretty nice I think. We should come up with several names for the fake transponders I suppose.
>>
>>30216807
No holding cells?

Covert Inquiry, though it never goes under that name.

>>30216928
we can assume that, since all these add-ons have eaten away most of the ship's internal space, that there's your room and a small cargo hold rendered even smaller by a holding cell capable of holding two adults.

No.

And 3. YT-1760 Covert Inquiry it is.

Writing now.
>>
The reaosn for all this reduction was to make room for your personal freighter, the YT-1760 Covert Inquiry. It's been hevily modified by the Empire and by your own design, to have excellent equipment and armament, but at the cost of most of the internal space. It's fine though, since you're usually on your own.

You had honestly forgotten about it, and will probably use it far more often now. You enjoy the Pilot AI's company. You clear out the hangar screen.

How self contained are victory 2's anyway? What sort of maintenance do they need, and how often?

I dunno. They're designed for deep space, so I imagine they're good to go for at least a few months.

Aaaand my mom's gonna be home soon, so I'd better get going. I'll either do this again tomorrow or day after, depending on if I decide to play KotOR instead of write.
